Winston-Salem State University Case Study
Winston Salem State University (WSSU) has a long established history of athletic excellence, of
athletic achievement both on the conference and national levels. From 2007 to 2010 athletic
season, WSSU competed in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Mid
Eastern Athletic Conference. Other means from being a transition member from the NCAA
Division II to NCAA Division Ito remain within the MEAC or within the NCAA Division I was not

When it came to creating budgets for each sport team I was able to create the proper worksheet to

During an internship you would want to learn about the business that you are interning for. You

learned that even though the Athletic Department is part of the school, it is still operated as a
normal business. Also, I have learned that is very important that every

Essay On Non Traditional Home
A primary indicator for the future success of children is being raised in a peaceful home with the
involvement of two parents. Since America s war on poverty began in the 1960 s, a significant
shift in family structure has taken place. Consequently, the classical vision of an ideal home life
has all but been abandoned by society at large, reflecting an ideal modern familythat is far more
inclusive of non traditional parental structures. Furthermore, the guidance produced by social
pressure make critical evaluation of family structure a political risk; however, evidence produced by
overwhelming statistical data indicates that honest assessment is needed to provide efficacy in
providing assistance to families in need. The transformation of social norms from post war America
to today has, in many ways, brought equality and dignity to modernity. No valid argument can be
made supporting the discrimination of the past, and to the extent that unequal protection may exist
today, it must be rooted out and eliminated; however, historical data demonstrating positive
statistics for desirable outcomes should not be discounted because of past shame. Thus, an
examination of the past will serve to inform scholars, allowing objective assessments of societal
comportment regardless of the era being observed. With proper... Show more content on

If the logical mind, isn t enough to create motivation within us! Should we then let emotions
decide what we should be doing? Should we use emotions to prioritize? This might look really
emotional, but let s just look at it by this; You start considering things, prioritizing them in a
logical manner; your logical brain assigns a separate part to specific priority, but you still
somewhere in between let your emotions empower you anyway, and sometimes it s even
unintentionally done. If you look at priorities in logical context, some part of you still won t

Analysis Of Chaim Potok s The Chosen, Verbal...
Since the beginning of time, humans have endeavored to express their thoughts to other humans.
Early on, humans may have expressed their thoughts through only body language and primitive
grunts; however, as civilization progressed, humans developed intelligible language. From
development of that early language, written language was sprouted. From some development of
that written language, other forms of communication came into being. Today, many forms of
communication exist; however, all of them center around verbal communication. In Chaim
Potok s critically acclaimed novel, The Chosen, verbal communication, or the lack thereof, is a
main theme. The lack of communication, silence, in The Chosen is used by Potok not only to
show the suffering of his characters but also to symbolize the struggles of the Jewish people.
Potok uses silence prominently in The Chosen to show isolation. Both of the protagonists in the
book experience an isolating silence; for example, the silence imposed upon Danny is a main
component of the novel s plot. Danny s pain and isolation is caused by his father s silence toward
him. Reb Saunders, Danny s father, doesn t speak with Danny because he believes that being
silent toward Danny is what is best for him; however, the other characters of the book see only that
the silence causes Danny suffering. Reb s silence toward Danny would seem cruel in a normal
situation, but in Danny s situation, it seems to be atrocious. In the forties, being a Jew

Monetary Policy of Bangladesh
Monetary Police
Monetary policy is the term used by economists to describe ways of managing the supply of money
in an economy. Monetary Policy is the management of money supply and interest rates by central
bank to influence prices and employment for achieving the objectives of general economic policy.
Monetary policy works through expansion or contraction of investment and consumption
expenditure.
According to Paul Einzig
Monetary policy includes all monetary decisions and measures irrespective of whether their aims
are monetary and non monetary, and all non monetary decisions and measures that aim it affecting
the monetary system.

For developing economies like Bangladesh with significant underemployment/under exploitation of
production factors, stimulating higher growth is imperative for rapid reduction and eventual
elimination of endemic poverty, and is therefore an overriding priority. The stimulus provided by
monetary policies in accommodating the growth aspirations must not however over step towards
macroeconomic imbalance destabilizing and jeopardizing future growth; and the pursuit of
monetary policies comprise the continual balancing act of supporting the highest sustainable output
growth while adjusting smoothly to internal and external shocks that the economy encounter from
time to time.
The primary objective of the Monetary Policy of Bangladesh is to outline the formulation and
implementation of monetary policy of the Bangladesh Bank (BB), and to convey its assessment of
the recent and the expected monetary and inflation developments to the stakeholders and the public
at large.
The Bangladesh Bank Order of 1972 outlines the main objectives of monetary policy in Bangladesh,
which comprises в– To achieve the price stability.
в– To regulate currency and reserves.
в– To promote and maintain a high level of production, employment and real income, and economic
growth, since independence BB operated under a variety of pegged exchange rate systems amid

Transnational And Global Perspectives
The de facto home of the European Union (EU) and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization
(NATO), Belgium offers an unparalleled opportunity to immerse myself in Europe s rich history,
understand its contemporary struggles, and explore its multicultural identity. I propose study
towards the Masters of European Studies: Transnational and Global Perspectives (MAES) at KU
Leuven. By studying broader European diplomacy with the Middle East and Eurasia while also
researching Belgian Islamic multiculturalism, I will explore two primary questions. First, how can
European conflicts be effectively addressed through cooperation beyond the EU? Second, how has
terrorism, radicalization, and Islamophobia within Europeimpacted Belgian Islamic identity?...

I am currently writing a thesis at the University of Pennsylvania considering European media s
conception and representation of terrorist attacks in Europe and the Middle East. Under Dr.
Barbie Zelizer, I am performing a quantitative and qualitative analysis of Western European
coverage of both the 2015 Paris Attack and Beirut Bombing to consider how Islamic terrorism is
represented in the press. At Leuven, I will continue researching European representations of
Muslim communities. I will investigate how modern narratives of Islamophobia, terrorism, and
radicalization in Belgium, and Europe as a whole, have impacted Belgian Islamic identity. To do
this, I will perform a sociological interview study, speaking with Muslim community leaders,
Muslim focused NGO staff, and Middle Eastern diplomats. I have secured a letter of affiliation
from the Director of the MAES program, Dr. Patrick Pasture, who has agreed to supervise my
thesis as it fits into an interdisciplinary research project he is pursuing. KU Leuven offers close
proximity to Brussels supranational organizations that will allow me to deeply engage with
European political perspectives and a valuable international student body. Leuven coordinates guest
lectures with diplomats and NGO leaders, allowing me to more practically understand broader
European conflicts as they happen. Additionally, the

superheroes such as Captain America and the Avengers to Dark Horse s DC comics anti hero
Batman and Superman have entertained young minds, during the war and taught them to help

Most comics were written during the second world war during the vietnam war. Most WW2

Labour Party in Britain in the Years 1924-31
Labour Party in Britain in the Years 1924 31
Historians have debated just how competent the two Labour administrations were between 1924
and 1931. Governments are normally only considered competent if they have managed the
economy efficiently, prevented widespread corruption and maintained law and order. Labour came
to power at the end of 1923, a time when the Conservatives and other right wing groups were
spreading vicious rumours about Socialism. MacDonald was determined to disprove these fears,
particularly Churchill s jibe that a Labour Party would not be fit to govern . Since the Prime
Minister is an integral part of a government, it will also be important to look at the competency of ...

Other historians have stressed Labour s poor industrial relations during their first term in office,
claiming that this indicates a degree of governmental incompetence. MacDonald was determined
that the Labour Party would be representative of the nation as a whole, and not merely a political
wing of the TUC. Therefore, MacDonald did not want to be seen as giving in to strikers or other
industrial activists. In February 1924 there was a national dock strike for higher wages which ended
in success for the workers, but MacDonald had been planning to use troops to unload ships had it
continued. The following month he proclaimed a state of emergency during a London tram and bus
strike. Some historians have argued that the fact that MacDonald was determined to stand up
against the TUC and strikers suggests that his party was competent at running the country, since it
was not simply pandering to the industrial movement. But others claim that MacDonald was unable
to deal with the strikes sufficiently, making his government look weak and incompetent.
Some historians have argued that the cabinet of the first Labour government was chosen poorly,
with many of the ministers knowing little or nothing about their departments. For example, J.H
Thomas, the former railwaymen s leader, became Colonial Secretary despite knowing

Job Experience Essay
Nearly seven years ago, when I started working for the local DirecTV installation company, it
wasn t exactly a dream come true. I had the aptitude for it, having worked previously as a home
theatre installer back in Kansas City, but this job was much easier by comparison. What made this
job less than desirable were the hot attics, damp crawlspaces where I wasn t always the only thing
crawling around and the loose eaves near ideal dish mounting locations that were often home to
swarms of hornets.
Less than a week into the job I was offered a promotion of sorts. They needed inspectors to verify
that things were done correctly at several installation locations each week and they wanted someone
who hadn t been around long enough to make ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The best part of this situation for me was the pay. I was making $12.50 per inspection. That s
over $1500 per week! Despite the great pay, I had been unemployed for nearly a month before
starting this job and because of tool costs to get started hadn t taken home much during my first
week as an installer. The first paycheck I received had an error in it. I was told by my Manager at
the Paducah Office to call the corporate office and talk to payroll directly and they would handle it.
I regularly heard new employees being told, Call payroll and ask for an advance , not just due to
pay errors, but also to cover the startup costs of tools and ladders. This advice would soon lead to
disaster.
For the first time in several months I was going to Atlanta, Georgia to visit my daughter for the
weekend. I had received one puny paycheck and one nice one, but had spent everything to get
caught up on bills that had accumulated during my unemployment. So, I did what experience
and observation had taught me to do, I called payroll and asked for a relatively small advance to
cover my weekend trip. Without incident a check showed up at the office the next day and my
wife and I were off for a fun weekend with my daughter. It wasn t until late the next week that all
hell began to break loose.
I was on the road somewhere in Southern Illinois when I received an angry call from the district
manager inquiring why I had bypassed him and gone

Exploring The Kangaroo Excretory System
The excretory system is the system of an organism that made up of several organs to discharge
wastes from body (New Health Advisor, n.d.) and regulate the composition and concentration of
internal body fluids (Shmoop University, n.d.). Kangaroo has a similar excretory system with most
of the mammals and adapt to minimize water loss as they remove waste products especially their
habitat is dry environment. Skin, lungs and kidneyare the primary excretory system organs while
liver, gallbladder, urinary bladder, ureter and urethra are accessary excretory system organs (New
Health Advisor, n.d.).
The skin keeps the water in and prevents evaporation (Muller, n.d.). The sweat glands carry out the
excretory function by producing sweat that comprises of salt, oils, water, and other unnecessary
substances to remove from body (New Health Advisor, n.d.).... Show more content on

The liver is the main metabolic site that is crucial for detoxification. Biochemical processes can
produce toxic byproducts as metabolic wastes and these wastes must be removed (Farabee,
2001). For example, byproduct of protein metabolism is ammonia that has to be converted into a
less toxic compound which is urea for excretion (Muller, n.d.). Then, urea is filtered and excreted
by the kidneys as urine. Gallbladder is the storage of bile produced by liver to breakdown fats,
ethanol and other acidic wastes (New Health Advisor,

However, the three other terms are not used in today s society and I am curious to know why
they are not used anymore. Dumb Dora is a word used to describe a foolish and shortsighted
female. Although derogatory terms are not good, I am interested to understand why it isn t used
in modern day. It may be because the terminology used at the time was when there was gender
inequality. The vocabulary used to describe someone in the 1920 s show how much the world

Comparing Love In The Great Gatsby And The Awakening
Love is a major theme in almost every novel and is one of the key characteristics in many plots.
Love can affect a character s decisions, emotions, and overall actions which is what makes it one
of the most influential themes. That is why I chose love for my theme because it is present in
everything people do. Loveis an impactful theme in The Great Gatsbyby F. Scott Fitzgerald, A Doll
s House by Henrik Ibsen, A Patchwork Planet by Anne Tyler, and The Awakening by Kate
Chopin. The Great Gatsby showed the theme of love in two significant ways. One way was
Gatsby s love for the past and things that could never exist again, and another was Gatsby s
totally blinding love for Daisy no matter what she did. Love can be see in A Doll s House
through Nora s feelings towards her children, which she ignorantly thought were love and in
Torvald s superficial love for Nora. Love appears in A Patchwork Planet in a much more subtle way.
It can be seen between Barnaby and Opal in a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These novels changed my outlook on the world by showing me that love is not always perfect
and it doesn t always work out in the end. I learned that true love is not flawless and always
works out, true love is a choice not a chance. I ve understood from these beautiful works of
literature that true love does not appear between two people, those people have to be willing to
work out any problems that will come and work on the relationship constantly. Gatsby and Daisy
s failed relationship in The Great Gatsby taught me that relationships cannot just work out on
their own, they take cooperation. Gatsby wasn t willing to comply with Daisy s new and mature
needs while Daisy wasn t willing to put in the effort and leave her husband for Gatsby. Had the
two of them be willing to work together and put in the effort, ignoring Daisy s evil side and that
she was no good for Gatsby, they could have had a healthy

The assignments are simply not intended to be exercises in arriving at a predetermined answer.
Rather, the applications of the suggested readings have the following objectives:
To provide a means for improving the writing skills of students. From all reports, accounting majors
too often leave college lacking in the basic ability to compose and construct sentences and
paragraphs. Accounting and auditing (especially as one moves up in an organization) obviously
require skills other than the purely quantitative. Memos, reports, footnotes, audit and accounting
guides, etc., all require accountants and auditors to be effective communicators of the written word.
Indeed, the instructor may want to team up with a member of the school s English or
communications department to enhance the effectiveness of these assignments. The auditing
instructor can then evaluate the technical and research portions of the assignment, while the
English instructor would make suggestions as to grammar, syntax, construction of sentences and
paragraphs, logic of the thought process, etc. As a preliminary step, the instructor may want to
assign articles such as Word Crunching: A Primer for Accountants from the March 1990 issue of
the Journal of Accountancy.
To introduce students to accounting and business journals as well as other important publications.

Elora Gorge Research Paper
This photograph was taken on a field trip to Elora Gorge. Elora Gorge is an important landscape
in Ontario and is also a prime example of significant change to a landscape by physical
processes. Largely, it is the result of erosion by water at the end of the last glacial period. The
most recent glacier over North America, the Laurentide Ice Sheet, resided almost all over Canada.
Eventually, the sheet melted, allowing water possessing a strong stream discharge to be released in
numerous directions. One of these melt out pathways formed the Elora Gorge. Similar to how
other gorges are created, it was the energy of the river water rushing from the melting glacier that
was able to cut into the surface of the bedrock. Streams carved through

How Olympus Has Fallen Made Similar Strides For Success
For a world fearful of terrorism, we sure do love to watch mad men run amok in a fictional
capacity and do so in epic fashion. Usually it s aliens devastating the world s largest cities, but on
occasion, it s nothing more than a evil doer with a vision. Popular films, like Die Hard, Air Force
One, and Speed have previously created concentrated environments for terrorists to thrive with their
grandiose, sinister schemes creating timeless heroes and memorable climaxes in the process. And,
while not as famous as those aforementioned films, Olympus Has Fallen made similar strides for
success a few short years ago.

Basic Details:
Name:
Ibuprofen
Drawing of Molecular Structure:
Ionic or Covalent:
Covalent
Ibuprofen Info:
Ibuprofen (C13H18O2) has the systematic name 2 (4 isobutylphenyl) propanoic acid. This makes
it an organic compound. Its melting point is melting point 74 77В° C. It is a stable white
crystalline powder, slightly soluble in water and very soluble in ethanol. Its formula is also written
(CH3)2CHCH2C6H4CH(CH3) COOH, which is basically the chemical structure of ibuprofen.
Ibuprofen is a nonsteroidal anti inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by blocking the
production of prostaglandins, substances that the body releases in response to illness and
injury. Prostaglandins cause swelling and pain, or inflammation. They can cause fevers because
they are released to the brain. Ibuprofen s painkilling effects become resonant soon after taking
the drug. Ibuprofen is available as gels, sprays, tablets or mousses, and it is used to relieve a
variety of symptoms which include: inflammation, swelling, pain, toothache, backache, arthritis,
headache, minor injuries, and fever. The usual adult dose for pain is 200 mg to 400 mg by
mouth, every 4 to 6 hours, or 400 to 800 mg IV every 6 hours as needed. The maximum dose in
one day is 3,200 mg. Children s doses are lower than those for adults. The dose will depend on the
weight and age of the child, and the severity of the fever or other symptoms. Even though ibuprofen
helps people with many conditions, it also has some risks involved. Ibuprofen should be used with
caution for people with asthma, kidney problems, liver problems, mild heart failure, hypertension,
high blood pressure, angina, and stroke. This list is just a list of a few of the conditions which may
have a negative reaction to the body. All people should consult a qualified pharmacist or a doctor if
they are unsure. Furthermore, Ibuprofen is known for causing stomach pain, nausea and vomiting,
and other gastrointestinal symptoms. These side effects are caused by the same mechanism as the
beneficial effects. The same prostaglandins that cause pain, fever, and inflammation (which are
healed by ibuprofen) also decrease stomach acid and increase stomach mucus secretion. Both of

These are two poems about nature. Now they are talking about the same thing. Well, they say it

metaphors which are ok, but they rhyme a little which is better for the reader and it is longer and

Religious Pluralism
I have learned that Destiny Worship Center recognizes pluralism and has a great number of
people and families that have different social classes, races, tradition, and interests. Even though
people have differences in these areas, the church as a whole believes that everyone should work
together as one. Pluralism was shown in the volunteer work for Hurricane Irma as every one of
different social classes, backgrounds and traditions worked together as one to put into one good

Lord Of The Flies Conch Quotes
Symbolism Ben Liu The Conch The conch was initially used to gather the scattered survivors on
the islands. After the reunion, the boys decide to bring back the old society s authorities by listing
rules that are to be followed, and that the conch eventually elects their first leader Ralph. The
conch is well respected and gives meanings of authority, the boys decide that no one can speak
unless he holds the conch, representing order from the old schoolyard society of strict limitations.

Government In Fahrenheit 451
Ray Bradbury s novel, Fahrenheit 451, depicts numerous ways the government controls the citizens
and their beliefs. The protective state that firemen are portrayed as in modern society is transformed
within this futuristic economy. This predominant bureaucracy downgrades books and the value of
having them in society. Governmentauthorities depict books as harmful and dangerous to
humankind, yet there are still very few people who realize how useful their insight can be to a
society. The importance of knowledge from books are illegalized within Fahrenheit 451, which
causes this dystopian society to believe they are of equal intelligence and happiness when in reality
it deprives the citizens of beneficial awareness.

Fahrenheit 451 states, The woman on the porch reached out with contempt to them all, and
struck the kitchen match against the railing (Bradbury p. 37). The unnamed woman, who
undoubtingly set herself and her books on fire, shows that the knowledge within books has great
importance. The woman decided to sacrifice her life for books instead of accepting the
consequences for owning them because she would rather die than to live in a world where books
do not exist. Montag thinks, There must be something in books, things we can t imagine, to make
a woman stay in a burning house; there must be something there. You don t stay for nothing
(Bradbury p. 48). This quote shows how Montag begins to question the beliefs of the controlling
administration. Montag establishes the belief that the woman attempts to make a stand against
the banning of books because she believes there would be more to life and self happiness with
books being in society. Montag states in the book, And for the first time I realized that a man was
behind each one of the books (Bradbury p. 49). Guy Montag is also beginning to realize that a
common person like himself wrote each piece of literature. The writers of the publications lived
through the horrid events and took the time to write about them. The roaming intellects at the end
of the novel also took the time to memorize peculiar parts of various books which demonstrates that

A Comparison Of Two Creation Stories

my five year old self forgot a lot about the two. Like I didn t know that Eve was created from

The Outcast Weaver Essay
The story of Silas Marner is a beautiful, eloquently told story which gives the reader a vived
depiction of the period in which it takes place in a rustic village in England in the 1800s. The
story evokes many emotions from the reader as well as teaches some moral lessons about life

Comparing Standard of Living and Quality of Life Between...
Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is the market value of all final goods and services produced by
factors of production within a country in a given period of time. It can be calculated using either
the income, output, or expenditure method as illustrated on the circular flow of income diagram
below.
Standard of Living, in a purely material dimension is the average amount of GDP per person in
a country (therefore determining access to goods and services). However the term has a much
broader, non material dimension involving issues of quality of life and are therefore much more

The purpose of this article is to document the first archaeological evidence in Australia both by
death by spearing and the use of backed artifacts as spear armatures before European contact.
Furthermore using barbed death spears as a ritual punishment was known to have happened in the

archaeological evidence for ritual payback killing by spearing, as well as be significant in
understanding other archaeological signs of the increase in social complexity across south eastern

Development of Software Applications
Custom decision support system software application The development of software applications
is an intricate effort which can be approached from several angles. Four common approaches
include prototyping, rapid application development, object oriented analysis and design
business process engineering. Each of these methods is characterized by distinctive features, as
revealed below. Prototyping Prototyping as an approach to software development represents a
mechanism of data visualization, characterized nevertheless by the fact that it is not, in itself, a
means of creating the actual software. Prototyping is a complementary solution to actual
software development and it allows a prototype of the future software application to be
presented to stakeholders for viewing purposes, collection of funds and so on. Prototyping is a
useful planning mechanism since it allows for the more accurate creation of estimates, deadlines
and deliverables. In addition, the prototyping approach to software also allows the software
developers to access and assess the workloads and set feasible tasks (Oxagile, 2013). Rapid
application development The rapid application development approach to the creation of software
reveals an insignificant emphasis on planning as a process integrant to software development. The
developers, as such, quickly set out to create the application (or a prototype of the application) in
order to quickly possess a usable product. With rapid application

Antigone Creon Analysis
Antigone is a Greek tragedy written by the dramatist Sophocles in the early 400s BC, which
takes place in the city of Thebes. The play follows the story of a girl named Antigone and her
disobedience to the laws of Thebes ruler, Creon. Several centuries following the work of Sophocles,
Aristotle published a product of dramatic theory, known as Poetics. In this work, Aristotle discusses
the different aspects that make up a true tragedy. According to Poetics, Creon is the character
whose attributes fit him perfectly into the mold of a tragic figure. Creon believes he is doing
good, but his fatal flaw leads him to his demise. In addition, the character of Creon exhibits more
pathos, or pity than the character of Antigone. Because Antigone doesn t experience all of Aristotle
s three vital pieces of tragedy, while Creon does, this just proves that she cannot be the tragic figure
of this story.
To start off, Creon is attempting to do what is best for the people of Thebes, but he is clearly and
fatally flawed in doing so. Throughout the tragedy, Creon is pursuing an unshakable kingship
and trying to prove his power by enforcing laws. Claiming that Polynices was a traitor, Creon
passes a decree that prohibits anyone to bury the body, or even mourn his death. Creon states
that a proclamation has forbidden the city to dignify him with a burial, mourn him at all. No, he
must be left unburied, his corpse carrion for the birds and dogs to tear, and obscenity for the
citizens to behold! (Ant. 68). Although this seems like the correct way to help Thebes attain
peace and stability, Creon is approaching the situation in the wrong way. As for Antigone, she
does not possess an obvious fatal flaw because she pursued her own demise. After all, Antigone
wanted an acclaimed death from the start. During the first scene, Antigone boldly proclaims to
Ismene, Dear God shout it from the rooftops I ll hate you all the more for silence tell the world!
(64). Antigone wanted to be celebrated for her bravery, and for acting out courageously against
Creon. There is no specific attribute that brings her to this fate, but just the fact that she wished it to
be that way.
Besides having a tragic flaw, Creon s character evokes the most pathos

The distinct identity that this vehicle has in the marketplace is that it is a phoenix of cars,
reborn out of the old model of the Holden Monaro and made into a new, slick version. Holden
would position this in the market by saying that it is the most powerful mainstream Holden to be
brought out, drawing people who desire that kind of brawn and intensity in a car. The focus of
appeal for the vehicle was how the Monaro made a possible consumer feel. The older men would
feel nostalgia by thinking of the old Monaro, even though the style of body would be different,
the emotional attachment to the name of Monaro would be the same. The younger generation
might look at the vehicle and feel drawn to its subtle curves and sporty body design, featuring
the double scoop on the hood of the car. The focus of appeal might be imagining yourself behind
the wheel of the Monaro and feeling the power of the engine and the bucket racing seats, knowing
that the car you are driving is both luxurious and nimble. Something about just looking at the car
or watching an advertisement on the television would stir an emotion in the target market, and
make them likely to go for a test drive and ultimately (hopefully) purchase the car. In my personal
opinion, the Holden Monaro does not hold a spectacularly distinct product position from the other
Holden Sports Vehicles in that line of cars. The newer models of Holden Commodores are also

Britain s Appeasement
Appeasement is the act of making concessions to someone, usually an aggressor often at the
sacrifice of principles in order to avoid a greater conflict such as war. Great Britain took many
actions that were seen as appeasing Hitler in hopes of avoiding but inevitably only prolonging what
would come to be World War II. Britain had ignored the rearmament of Germany
, which went
against the terms of the Treaty of Versailles, and even expedited the rearmament through the Anglo
German Naval Agreement. They also allowed Hitler to reoccupy the Rhineland which de novo
violated the Treaty of Versailles, which had demilitarized that territory. Britain turned a blind eye

Nature And Causes Of Crime
The Nature and Causes of Crime
Jacob N Zucker
Grantham University
CJ102
Developmental theory is the view that criminality is a dynamic process, influenced by social
experiences as well as individual characteristics (Siegel, 2014, p. 228). This theory includes three
views of criminal career development. The first being the life course theory which is a theory that
focuses on changes in criminality over the life course brought about by shifts in experience and life
events (Siegel, 2014, p. 228). The second being propensity theory which is the view that a stable
unchanging feature, characteristic, property, or condition, such as defective intelligence or
impulsive personality, makes some people crime prone (Siegel, 2014, p. 228). The third view is the
trajectory theory. Trajectory theory is the view that there are multiple independent paths to a
criminal career and that there are different types and classes of offenders (Siegel, 2014, p. 228).
Life course theory merges the concepts of historical inheritance with cultural expectation and
personal development, which in turn sociologists study to map the course of human behavior given
different social interaction and stimulation (Crossman, 2017). This theory suggests that people
begin engaging in criminal activity due to their experiences and life events. In other words,
sociological events and a person s upbringing will determine the outcome of their criminal
behavior. For example, if a child is

Appropriate Humor in Nickel and Dimed by Barbara...
Barbara Ehrenreich employed the use of humor multiple times in Nickel and Dimed; it was perhaps
her most frequently used rhetorical device. Ehrenreich was trying to portray the tragedy and
heartbreak of the situation by using that sort of hopeless, sardonic humor. She also used her humor
as a way to camouflagetopics that would otherwise be off limits. Although some of the humor
included in the narrative may have seemed distasteful, it all had a purpose and was rarely used
inappropriately. The majority of her witty remarks were used in a sardonic way. This was to

Ehrenreich knew that most audiences most easily connect with humor; therefore, she used it very
frequently. This sarcasm not only keeps readers involved, but it also makes certain connections that
they would not normally put together. Barbara Ehrenreich often applied the use of humor as a
camouflage for topics that would otherwise be off limits. She understood that humor is the
easiest way to get a point across without offending anyone. On page 92, she illustrates a rather
vulgar part of her maid job. Let s talk about shit, for example. It happens, as the bumper sticker
says, and it happens to a cleaning person every day. This is definitely a subject that most readers
may have found inappropriate; however, Ehrenreich s tone throughout the entire book
camouflages the lewdness of the topic. Instead of just dropping the anecdote, she realized the
purpose it showed in illustrating how vile her experiences were. She went on with the topic even
more by telling a humorous story. The first time I encountered a shit stained toilet as a maid, I
was shocked by the sense of unwanted intimacy. A few hours ago, some well fed butt was
straining away on this toilet seat, and now here I am wiping up after it. This is perhaps the most
effective example of the author camouflaging a completely inappropriate topic with humor. Over
all, Ehrenreich used humor for a variety of reasons. She needed a way to convey the

Scuba diving is the most frequently used mode in recreational diving and, in various forms, is also
widely used to perform underwater work for military, scientific, and commercial purposes.
There were many steps in the development of a successful self contained underwater system. In
1808, Freiderich yon Drieberg invented a bellows in a box device that was worn on the diver s back
and delivered compressed air from the surface. This device, named Triton, did not actually work
but served to suggest that compressed air could be used in diving, an idea initially conceived of by
Halley in 1716. (Ketels, 9)
In 1865, two French inventors, Rouquayrol and Denayrouse, developed a suit that they described
as self contained. In fact, their suit was not self contained but consisted of a helmet using surface
supported system that had an air reservoir that was carried on the diver s back and was sufficient
to provide one breathing cycle on demand. The demand valve regulator was used with surface
supply largely because tanks of adequate strength were not yet available to handle air at high
pressure. This system s demand valve, which was automatically controlled, represented a major

Investigating The Theories Of Trace Evidence
Trace evidence can be used to link people or objects to places, other people, or other objects. This
often serves as a starting point, or lead, for a particular line of investigation (Lothridge, 2016).
Trace evidence can include a wide variety of materials, but most commonly tested are hair, fibers,
paint and glass. Other, less frequently included items are soil, cosmetics and fire debris
(Lothridge, 2016). Dr. Edmond Locard formulated the theory that Every contact leaves a trace .

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Modes Of Entry
Because there with the modes exports, a firm must have many bureaucratic things to do with the
government.
The export mode does not allow closer control over production, marketing, and other business
operations so to get over control a firm must use the mode of JVS.
There is going to be better domestic market information provided by domestic JV partner.
The major benefit of joint ventures is that the contributors of intermediate inputs get a claim on any
residuals. This theory implies that international joint ventures would be undertaken when other
modes of entry such as direct foreign investments and corporate acquisitions are costlier.
(Janakiramanan, 2004)
So, exports and other entry modes can be costlier than JV and this is going to be related to the JVs.
But of course, there is also some kind of disadvantages compared to the exports. The major of
disadvantage is a conflict of interest which cannot be found in the modes exports. For instance,
issues such as profit shares amount invested, management of the business and marketing strategy
can occur if there is no well structured agreement. The thing is to be careful about the selection of
the partner so that the risks are minimized. As said the formulation of the contract is the key ...

immediate development fee and royalty stream it will gain a valuable understanding of the best
business practices for transferring a business concept to a new country. (Pearce,

The Fall Of The Three Great Unifiers Of Japan
Neville, EdwinIntroduction
Tokugawa Ieyasu was one of the three great unifiers of Japan, but was different in the way he
actually succeeded. Oda Nobunaga had the mentality to crush anybody in his way of his goal,
Hideyoshi had much too great ambitions, but Ieyasu was reserved and cautious which lead to his
success. His belief that the use of politics was just as important if not more important than war to
unify the realm perpetually was his key to doing just that. His careful thinking and strategy lead
him to be the last great unifier of Japan. The People
One of the greatest ideas Ieyasu had for a stable state of governance was to be on the side of those
being governed. This kind of thinking made him lower the tax, along with abusive tax collectors.
He also punished those that abused tax collections and set regulations upon them to decrease unfair
tax administration. The people tended to migrate into areas more directly controlled by Ieyasu s
government. By gaining the favour of the masses he minimized rebellion, along with his following
Hideyoshi in the way of taking weapons away from commoners. Along with reducing and regulating
tax collection, Tokugawa Ieyasugave certain rights to religious groups. Ieyasu believed that
religion was an important part of governance, he ensured Buddhist temples, Shinto shrines, and
other sacred grounds were protected, to those that accepted his rule. In order to have the religious
groups on his side he also made religious

Magenta, turquoise, and auburn glimmered in the ceiling of the refurbished gymnasium as

For the preceding months, I had spent numerous hours quarreling with members of the ASB
Executive Council, trying to formulate a plan to diminish the apathy that pervaded our school. The
student morale was at an all time low, and the administration had lost confidence in the ability of
ASB to successfully conduct school events.? As ASB President, I knew that the week of

Through cheering voices, the homecoming king and queen were crowned. Pride filled my heart as
I engaged in and conducted this successful event. The homecoming dance was another challenge to
rectify prior sagging attendance. To rectify the situation, ASB established two sites of activities for
the students that necessitated two gyms, one for the dance and the other for the myriad of activities
and food that entertained these eager students. As I stood in the gym with its glittering and
shimmering draperies cascading above the dancing students, I knew my ASB goals had been
achieved by this opulent event. We now earned the respect of our administration and energized our
student body, and made a substantial profit. Clearly, the students at Fallbrook High had lost their
lethargy and regained their commitment to the school.
This experience truly defined who I became and who I am now as a leader. I learned to
incorporate important problem solving skills by working to unify the executive council and the
school administration. Bringing together diverse groups of people to engage in meaningful
dialogue to solve complicated problems taught me valuable people skills. Organizing and executing

Machiavelli The Father Of Modern Political Thought Summary

Machiavelli The Father of Modern Political Thought
There are many reasons why Machiavelli is widely considered the beginner of modern political
thought, one of the many is he studied strictly the politicians, and businessmen. Machiavelli
recognized the political playing field as a vile place only for the most dominating and cunning of
political giants. One of Machiavelli s most famous work, On Principalities, or known by the other
title, The Prince, absolutely announced a break with previous political beliefs secured between
moral and religion system, it examines the nature of his views on power that are still somewhat
in existent today. Machiavelli discusses in this work power over the people, oppressive power,
and shared power. Machiavelli discusses two specific groups of people such as the political elite
and the general public within this work.
While Machiavelli highlighted power over in relations between the political elite, he examines a
different kind of power in the affiliation between a prince and his public. Machiavelli noted that
he can share his power with his people, since he can trust his people more than he can the nobles.
The nobles cannot be satisfied if their ruler acts honorably, because their desires are more ethical
than the nobles are. The people are more forgiving and less greedy so he can place more trust in
his people and empower his trusting public.
Though the public may be more trustworthy Machiavelli also stated that a prince needed to be harsh
in the treatment of both the mixed sectors and the new sectors to avoid rebellions, the prince must
be harsh and cautious. It is easier for a prince to hold control after he has already stopped a
rebellion by empowering his power. Once the prince takes control of the city, he cannot forget it,
for his control can be easily lost.
Without order within his own court let alone his public, the prince would soon fall and possible
lose his control over everything. More or less how the prince started at the bottom and slowly made
his way to becoming a great king or he died at the feet of his people or someone of higher power

the organizations. E procurement is the process of purchasing the goods or services from various
suppliers through the internet. This helps to provides number of benefits over older manual
procurement method by eliminating several errors. These benefits include reduction of
administrative cost, faster transfer of information, improve communication, and decrease in
inventory cost (Matunga, Nyanamba, Okibo, 2013). In corporate sector, the procurement has been
divided into two section i.e. direct and indirect procurement. Direct procurement involves the
materials that are used in the production of manufactured goods, whereas indirect procurement
deals with the involvement of day to day operations. E procurement mainly provides more
concentration on indirect procurement in contrast to direct procurement (Kim Shunk, 2004).
E procurement help to provides various benefits, but still the implementation is in development

Analysis Of Janine Is A Contemporary Artist With An...
Janine Antoni is a contemporary artist with an important message. She was born in the
Bahamas in 1964 and expresses herself through works in performance art, sculpture, and
photography ( Janine Antoni , 2016, par. 1). The main focus of her work is to create
controversy, conversation and to build awareness. She is most notable for her different choices
in medium which assists her in getting her message across. Antoni s medium of choice often
involves using her body to create her art; often utilizing her mouth, hair, and eyelashes to create
her unique works of art. By making her piece entitled Gnaw orally, she made the creation process
both intimate and destructive, to quote Janine Antoni, herself (Steadman, 2015, par. 5). The
process in which one creates an art piece is as important as the finished artwork. Janine s process
oriented work is as Antoni said, a new way to intensely commemorate the constricted role of
women in society. (Steadman, 2015, par. 5). Janine Antoni is constantly challenging social norms
and expressing her opinion on the restraints and ideals of women in society using her art. We can
see this when we analyze Janine Antoni s piece, Butterfly Kisses . For this piece Janine Antoni
used her eyelashes as paintbrushes to demonstrate her point (Steadman, 2015, par. 6). As seen in
figure 1 above, the work was created using Cover Girl Thick Lash mascara. The 2508 butterfly
kisses in this piece took Janine Antoni over month to complete ( Janine Antoni.

More significantly, eighty one percent of women experiencing multiple abusive relationships
demonstrated PTSD and higher psychopathology compared to women experiencing a single

Personality disorder symptoms are higher among violent women and female offenders arrested for
domestic violence continue to rise in number (Goldenson, Geffner, Foster, Clipson, 2007). Male
offenders were found to have history of attachment, trauma, and features of personality disorders.
Bornstein (2012) found negative consequences of dependency in incarcerated men with charges of
child abuse into the following categories: (a) nonsexual offending psychopaths; (b) sexual homicide
perpetrators; and (c) nonviolent pedophiles.
Although many dependent clients prefer to use passive, submissive social strategies, most
dependent clients are capable of using more assertive, outward expressions of anger, and
destructive strategies when key relationships are at risk (Bornstein, 2012). Moreover, DPD has
been linked with increased risk of self harming behaviors such as suicidal gestures causing harm to
themselves and others (Bornstein, 2012). More women made previous suicide attempts than the
men, and women were more likely to have used or to be using psychotropic medication (Goldenson,

Benefits of the Industrial Revolution
The Second Industrial Revolution was sparked by the creation of the railroad. During the Civil
War, railroads existed and were helpful in bringing supplies to troops, but they weren t very
reliable as they would only go on for as long as the owner of the railroad had land. When the
owner of the railroad ran out of land, the railroad would end, and people would have to move the
things from the railroad to another railroad. People did realize, however, how well a railroad
could work if they were all connected. They found that they could make money from the people
using their railroad and riding on the trains, and soon people connected their local railroads
together. Railroad barons, like Cornelius Vanderbilt, bought small railroads from... Show more

The Purpose Of Art And Its Felicity
Joseph Anton Koch The purpose of art and its felicity lies both in its aesthetic quality as well is the
instructive capacity of art, wherein the various perspectives employed by artist s help to understand
the particular period in which the work was created and the influences that may have attributed to
the final product. The early 19th centuryin Europe was marked by a desire to return to the
classicism of the Greek and Roman empires as it connoted a sense of stability after the upheaval
of the French revolution which had brought down existing social, political and economic structures
to an end. The work ofJoseph Anton Koch, a German painter who chose to live in Rome and
imbibe the traditions of the classicists shows in his work a clear attachment to the values of linear
composition and idyllic subject matter and this is clearly apparent in his monumental workHeroic
Landscape with Rainbow, now a part of the European gallery at the Metropolitan Museum of Arts in
New York City. This work is an apt illustration of the manner in which the neoclassical tradition of
landscape paintingbecame an important part of the works of European painters of the early 19th
century as a means of portraying the kind of society which people aspired to after the upheavals of
the late 18th century. The heroic landscape as a painting genre had achieved great popularity in the
17th century when artists like Nicholas Poussin and Claude Lorrain captured the beauty of the
natural environmentas a

  • 3. Essay On Non Traditional Home A primary indicator for the future success of children is being raised in a peaceful home with the involvement of two parents. Since America s war on poverty began in the 1960 s, a significant shift in family structure has taken place. Consequently, the classical vision of an ideal home life has all but been abandoned by society at large, reflecting an ideal modern familythat is far more inclusive of non traditional parental structures. Furthermore, the guidance produced by social pressure make critical evaluation of family structure a political risk; however, evidence produced by overwhelming statistical data indicates that honest assessment is needed to provide efficacy in providing assistance to families in need. The transformation of social norms from post war America to today has, in many ways, brought equality and dignity to modernity. No valid argument can be made supporting the discrimination of the past, and to the extent that unequal protection may exist today, it must be rooted out and eliminated; however, historical data demonstrating positive statistics for desirable outcomes should not be discounted because of past shame. Thus, an examination of the past will serve to inform scholars, allowing objective assessments of societal comportment regardless of the era being observed. With proper... Should we use emotions to prioritize? • 5. Analysis Of Chaim Potok s The Chosen, Verbal... Since the beginning of time, humans have endeavored to express their thoughts to other humans. Early on, humans may have expressed their thoughts through only body language and primitive grunts; however, as civilization progressed, humans developed intelligible language. From development of that early language, written language was sprouted. From some development of that written language, other forms of communication came into being. Today, many forms of communication exist; however, all of them center around verbal communication. In Chaim Potok s critically acclaimed novel, The Chosen, verbal communication, or the lack thereof, is a main theme. The lack of communication, silence, in The Chosen is used by Potok not only to show the suffering of his characters but also to symbolize the struggles of the Jewish people. Potok uses silence prominently in The Chosen to show isolation. Both of the protagonists in the book experience an isolating silence; for example, the silence imposed upon Danny is a main component of the novel s plot. Danny s pain and isolation is caused by his father s silence toward him. Reb Saunders, Danny s father, doesn t speak with Danny because he believes that being silent toward Danny is what is best for him; however, the other characters of the book see only that the silence causes Danny suffering. Reb s silence toward Danny would seem cruel in a normal situation, but in Danny s situation, it seems to be atrocious. In the forties, being a Jew ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Transnational And Global Perspectives The de facto home of the European Union (EU) and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Belgium offers an unparalleled opportunity to immerse myself in Europe s rich history, understand its contemporary struggles, and explore its multicultural identity. I propose study towards the Masters of European Studies: Transnational and Global Perspectives (MAES) at KU Leuven. By studying broader European diplomacy with the Middle East and Eurasia while also researching Belgian Islamic multiculturalism, I will explore two primary questions. Under Dr. Barbie Zelizer, I am performing a quantitative and qualitative analysis of Western European coverage of both the 2015 Paris Attack and Beirut Bombing to consider how Islamic terrorism is represented in the press. At Leuven, I will continue researching European representations of Muslim communities. I will investigate how modern narratives of Islamophobia, terrorism, and radicalization in Belgium, and Europe as a whole, have impacted Belgian Islamic identity. To do this, I will perform a sociological interview study, speaking with Muslim community leaders, Muslim focused NGO staff, and Middle Eastern diplomats. I have secured a letter of affiliation from the Director of the MAES program, Dr. Patrick Pasture, who has agreed to supervise my thesis as it fits into an interdisciplinary research project he is pursuing. • 10. Labour Party in Britain in the Years 1924-31 Labour Party in Britain in the Years 1924 31 Historians have debated just how competent the two Labour administrations were between 1924 and 1931. Governments are normally only considered competent if they have managed the economy efficiently, prevented widespread corruption and maintained law and order. Labour came to power at the end of 1923, a time when the Conservatives and other right wing groups were spreading vicious rumours about Socialism. MacDonald was determined to disprove these fears, particularly Churchill s jibe that a Labour Party would not be fit to govern . Other historians have stressed Labour s poor industrial relations during their first term in office, claiming that this indicates a degree of governmental incompetence. MacDonald was determined that the Labour Party would be representative of the nation as a whole, and not merely a political wing of the TUC. Therefore, MacDonald did not want to be seen as giving in to strikers or other industrial activists. In February 1924 there was a national dock strike for higher wages which ended in success for the workers, but MacDonald had been planning to use troops to unload ships had it continued. The following month he proclaimed a state of emergency during a London tram and bus strike. Some historians have argued that the fact that MacDonald was determined to stand up against the TUC and strikers suggests that his party was competent at running the country, since it was not simply pandering to the industrial movement. But others claim that MacDonald was unable to deal with the strikes sufficiently, making his government look weak and incompetent. Some historians have argued that the cabinet of the first Labour government was chosen poorly, with many of the ministers knowing little or nothing about their departments. For example, J.H Thomas, the former railwaymen s leader, became Colonial Secretary despite knowing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Despite the great pay, I had been unemployed for nearly a month before starting this job and because of tool costs to get started hadn t taken home much during my first week as an installer. The first paycheck I received had an error in it. I was told by my Manager at the Paducah Office to call the corporate office and talk to payroll directly and they would handle it. I regularly heard new employees being told, Call payroll and ask for an advance , not just due to pay errors, but also to cover the startup costs of tools and ladders. This advice would soon lead to disaster. For the first time in several months I was going to Atlanta, Georgia to visit my daughter for the weekend. I had received one puny paycheck and one nice one, but had spent everything to get caught up on bills that had accumulated during my unemployment. So, I did what experience and observation had taught me to do, I called payroll and asked for a relatively small advance to cover my weekend trip. Without incident a check showed up at the office the next day and my wife and I were off for a fun weekend with my daughter. It wasn t until late the next week that all hell began to break loose. • 14. Comparing Love In The Great Gatsby And The Awakening Love is a major theme in almost every novel and is one of the key characteristics in many plots. Love can affect a character s decisions, emotions, and overall actions which is what makes it one of the most influential themes. That is why I chose love for my theme because it is present in everything people do. Loveis an impactful theme in The Great Gatsbyby F. Scott Fitzgerald, A Doll s House by Henrik Ibsen, A Patchwork Planet by Anne Tyler, and The Awakening by Kate Chopin. The Great Gatsby showed the theme of love in two significant ways. One way was Gatsby s love for the past and things that could never exist again, and another was Gatsby s totally blinding love for Daisy no matter what she did. Love can be see in A Doll s House through Nora s feelings towards her children, which she ignorantly thought were love and in Torvald s superficial love for Nora. I learned that true love is not flawless and always works out, true love is a choice not a chance. Gatsby and Daisy s failed relationship in The Great Gatsby taught me that relationships cannot just work out on their own, they take cooperation. Gatsby wasn t willing to comply with Daisy s new and mature needs while Daisy wasn t willing to put in the effort and leave her husband for Gatsby. The assignments are simply not intended to be exercises in arriving at a predetermined answer. Rather, the applications of the suggested readings have the following objectives: To provide a means for improving the writing skills of students. From all reports, accounting majors too often leave college lacking in the basic ability to compose and construct sentences and paragraphs. Accounting and auditing (especially as one moves up in an organization) obviously require skills other than the purely quantitative. Memos, reports, footnotes, audit and accounting guides, etc., all require accountants and auditors to be effective communicators of the written word. Indeed, the instructor may want to team up with a member of the school s English or communications department to enhance the effectiveness of these assignments. The auditing instructor can then evaluate the technical and research portions of the assignment, while the English instructor would make suggestions as to grammar, syntax, construction of sentences and paragraphs, logic of the thought process, etc. As a preliminary step, the instructor may want to assign articles such as Word Crunching: A Primer for Accountants from the March 1990 issue of the Journal of Accountancy. Elora Gorge is an important landscape in Ontario and is also a prime example of significant change to a landscape by physical processes. Largely, it is the result of erosion by water at the end of the last glacial period. The most recent glacier over North America, the Laurentide Ice Sheet, resided almost all over Canada. Eventually, the sheet melted, allowing water possessing a strong stream discharge to be released in numerous directions. One of these melt out pathways formed the Elora Gorge. Similar to how other gorges are created, it was the energy of the river water rushing from the melting glacier that was able to cut into the surface of the bedrock. Streams carved through ... • 19. Ibuprofen Household Chemistry Project Household Chemistry Project Basic Details: Name: Ibuprofen Drawing of Molecular Structure: Ionic or Covalent: Covalent Ibuprofen Info: Ibuprofen (C13H18O2) has the systematic name 2 (4 isobutylphenyl) propanoic acid. This makes it an organic compound. Its melting point is melting point 74 77В° C. It is a stable white crystalline powder, slightly soluble in water and very soluble in ethanol. Its formula is also written (CH3)2CHCH2C6H4CH(CH3) COOH, which is basically the chemical structure of ibuprofen. Ibuprofen is a nonsteroidal anti inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by blocking the production of prostaglandins, substances that the body releases in response to illness and injury. Prostaglandins cause swelling and pain, or inflammation. They can cause fevers because they are released to the brain. Ibuprofen s painkilling effects become resonant soon after taking the drug. Ibuprofen is available as gels, sprays, tablets or mousses, and it is used to relieve a variety of symptoms which include: inflammation, swelling, pain, toothache, backache, arthritis, headache, minor injuries, and fever. The usual adult dose for pain is 200 mg to 400 mg by mouth, every 4 to 6 hours, or 400 to 800 mg IV every 6 hours as needed. The maximum dose in one day is 3,200 mg. Children s doses are lower than those for adults. The dose will depend on the weight and age of the child, and the severity of the fever or other symptoms. Even though ibuprofen helps people with many conditions, it also has some risks involved. Ibuprofen should be used with caution for people with asthma, kidney problems, liver problems, mild heart failure, hypertension, high blood pressure, angina, and stroke. This list is just a list of a few of the conditions which may have a negative reaction to the body. All people should consult a qualified pharmacist or a doctor if they are unsure. Furthermore, Ibuprofen is known for causing stomach pain, nausea and vomiting, and other gastrointestinal symptoms. These side effects are caused by the same mechanism as the beneficial effects. The same prostaglandins that cause pain, fever, and inflammation (which are healed by ibuprofen) also decrease stomach acid and increase stomach mucus secretion. Both of ... Development of Software Applications Custom decision support system software application The development of software applications is an intricate effort which can be approached from several angles. Four common approaches include prototyping, rapid application development, object oriented analysis and design business process engineering. Each of these methods is characterized by distinctive features, as revealed below. Prototyping Prototyping as an approach to software development represents a mechanism of data visualization, characterized nevertheless by the fact that it is not, in itself, a means of creating the actual software. Prototyping is a complementary solution to actual software development and it allows a prototype of the future software application to be presented to stakeholders for viewing purposes, collection of funds and so on. Prototyping is a useful planning mechanism since it allows for the more accurate creation of estimates, deadlines and deliverables. In addition, the prototyping approach to software also allows the software developers to access and assess the workloads and set feasible tasks (Oxagile, 2013). Rapid application development The rapid application development approach to the creation of software reveals an insignificant emphasis on planning as a process integrant to software development. • 34. Antigone Creon Analysis Antigone is a Greek tragedy written by the dramatist Sophocles in the early 400s BC, which takes place in the city of Thebes. The play follows the story of a girl named Antigone and her disobedience to the laws of Thebes ruler, Creon. Several centuries following the work of Sophocles, Aristotle published a product of dramatic theory, known as Poetics. In this work, Aristotle discusses the different aspects that make up a true tragedy. According to Poetics, Creon is the character whose attributes fit him perfectly into the mold of a tragic figure. Creon believes he is doing good, but his fatal flaw leads him to his demise. In addition, the character of Creon exhibits more pathos, or pity than the character of Antigone. Because Antigone doesn t experience all of Aristotle s three vital pieces of tragedy, while Creon does, this just proves that she cannot be the tragic figure of this story. To start off, Creon is attempting to do what is best for the people of Thebes, but he is clearly and fatally flawed in doing so. Throughout the tragedy, Creon is pursuing an unshakable kingship and trying to prove his power by enforcing laws. Claiming that Polynices was a traitor, Creon passes a decree that prohibits anyone to bury the body, or even mourn his death. Creon states that a proclamation has forbidden the city to dignify him with a burial, mourn him at all. No, he must be left unburied, his corpse carrion for the birds and dogs to tear, and obscenity for the citizens to behold! (Ant. 68). Although this seems like the correct way to help Thebes attain peace and stability, Creon is approaching the situation in the wrong way. As for Antigone, she does not possess an obvious fatal flaw because she pursued her own demise. After all, Antigone wanted an acclaimed death from the start. During the first scene, Antigone boldly proclaims to Ismene, Dear God shout it from the rooftops I ll hate you all the more for silence tell the world! (64). Antigone wanted to be celebrated for her bravery, and for acting out courageously against Creon. There is no specific attribute that brings her to this fate, but just the fact that she wished it to be that way. Besides having a tragic flaw, Creon s character evokes the most pathos ... • 36. Target Market of Holden Monaro Essay examples The Holden Monaro is a coupe sports car in the line of HSV, or Holden Sports Vehicles, made by its namesake Australian company. The car comes in a couple different specifications, but the engine is always either a V6 or a V8, making it a powerful and fast vehicle. The original Monaro was created in 1968 with different species of car throughout the next three years. The second generation of HoldenMonaros was begun in 1971, which changed the body design of the car completely as well as made the V6 engine no longer an option. The 1970 s Monaro was definitely a muscle car, though over the years until 1977 the vehicle became more of a luxury sedan instead of the hard muscle it had begun with. The distinct identity that this vehicle has in the marketplace is that it is a phoenix of cars, reborn out of the old model of the Holden Monaro and made into a new, slick version. Holden would position this in the market by saying that it is the most powerful mainstream Holden to be brought out, drawing people who desire that kind of brawn and intensity in a car. The focus of appeal for the vehicle was how the Monaro made a possible consumer feel. The older men would feel nostalgia by thinking of the old Monaro, even though the style of body would be different, the emotional attachment to the name of Monaro would be the same. The younger generation might look at the vehicle and feel drawn to its subtle curves and sporty body design, featuring the double scoop on the hood of the car. The focus of appeal might be imagining yourself behind the wheel of the Monaro and feeling the power of the engine and the bucket racing seats, knowing that the car you are driving is both luxurious and nimble. Something about just looking at the car or watching an advertisement on the television would stir an emotion in the target market, and make them likely to go for a test drive and ultimately (hopefully) purchase the car. In my personal opinion, the Holden Monaro does not hold a spectacularly distinct product position from the other Holden Sports Vehicles in that line of cars. Great Britain took many actions that were seen as appeasing Hitler in hopes of avoiding but inevitably only prolonging what would come to be World War II. Britain had ignored the rearmament of Germany , which went against the terms of the Treaty of Versailles, and even expedited the rearmament through the Anglo German Naval Agreement. • 39. Nature And Causes Of Crime The Nature and Causes of Crime Jacob N Zucker Grantham University CJ102 Developmental theory is the view that criminality is a dynamic process, influenced by social experiences as well as individual characteristics (Siegel, 2014, p. 228). This theory includes three views of criminal career development. The first being the life course theory which is a theory that focuses on changes in criminality over the life course brought about by shifts in experience and life events (Siegel, 2014, p. 228). The second being propensity theory which is the view that a stable unchanging feature, characteristic, property, or condition, such as defective intelligence or impulsive personality, makes some people crime prone (Siegel, 2014, p. 228). The third view is the trajectory theory. Trajectory theory is the view that there are multiple independent paths to a criminal career and that there are different types and classes of offenders (Siegel, 2014, p. 228). Life course theory merges the concepts of historical inheritance with cultural expectation and personal development, which in turn sociologists study to map the course of human behavior given different social interaction and stimulation (Crossman, 2017). This theory suggests that people begin engaging in criminal activity due to their experiences and life events. In other words, sociological events and a person s upbringing will determine the outcome of their criminal behavior. For example, if a child is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ehrenreich knew that most audiences most easily connect with humor; therefore, she used it very frequently. This sarcasm not only keeps readers involved, but it also makes certain connections that they would not normally put together. Barbara Ehrenreich often applied the use of humor as a camouflage for topics that would otherwise be off limits. She understood that humor is the easiest way to get a point across without offending anyone. On page 92, she illustrates a rather vulgar part of her maid job. Let s talk about shit, for example. It happens, as the bumper sticker says, and it happens to a cleaning person every day. This is definitely a subject that most readers may have found inappropriate; however, Ehrenreich s tone throughout the entire book camouflages the lewdness of the topic. Instead of just dropping the anecdote, she realized the purpose it showed in illustrating how vile her experiences were. She went on with the topic even more by telling a humorous story. The first time I encountered a shit stained toilet as a maid, I was shocked by the sense of unwanted intimacy. A few hours ago, some well fed butt was straining away on this toilet seat, and now here I am wiping up after it. In 1808, Freiderich yon Drieberg invented a bellows in a box device that was worn on the diver s back and delivered compressed air from the surface. This device, named Triton, did not actually work but served to suggest that compressed air could be used in diving, an idea initially conceived of by Halley in 1716. (Ketels, 9) In 1865, two French inventors, Rouquayrol and Denayrouse, developed a suit that they described as self contained. In fact, their suit was not self contained but consisted of a helmet using surface supported system that had an air reservoir that was carried on the diver s back and was sufficient to provide one breathing cycle on demand. Machiavelli recognized the political playing field as a vile place only for the most dominating and cunning of political giants. One of Machiavelli s most famous work, On Principalities, or known by the other title, The Prince, absolutely announced a break with previous political beliefs secured between moral and religion system, it examines the nature of his views on power that are still somewhat in existent today. Machiavelli discusses in this work power over the people, oppressive power, and shared power. Machiavelli discusses two specific groups of people such as the political elite and the general public within this work. While Machiavelli highlighted power over in relations between the political elite, he examines a different kind of power in the affiliation between a prince and his public. Machiavelli noted that he can share his power with his people, since he can trust his people more than he can the nobles. The nobles cannot be satisfied if their ruler acts honorably, because their desires are more ethical than the nobles are. The people are more forgiving and less greedy so he can place more trust in his people and empower his trusting public. Though the public may be more trustworthy Machiavelli also stated that a prince needed to be harsh in the treatment of both the mixed sectors and the new sectors to avoid rebellions, the prince must be harsh and cautious. It is easier for a prince to hold control after he has already stopped a rebellion by empowering his power. Once the prince takes control of the city, he cannot forget it, for his control can be easily lost. Without order within his own court let alone his public, the prince would soon fall and possible lose his control over everything.
