Greece Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of Greece can be both fascinating and challenging. The difficulty
lies not in the lack of information but rather in the abundance of historical, cultural, and socio-
political aspects that one can explore. The rich tapestry of Greece's history, from ancient
civilizations to modern times, presents a vast array of topics to cover. Navigating through the
intricate details while maintaining a coherent and engaging narrative can be a daunting task.
Research becomes a significant aspect of the challenge, as delving into the depths of Greek
history requires a thorough understanding of various periods, events, and influential figures.
Deciding which aspects to focus on and how to strike a balance between breadth and depth can
be a complex decision for the writer. Moreover, addressing the cultural contributions,
philosophical advancements, and the impact of Greece on the Western world adds another layer
of intricacy to the essay.
Crafting a compelling thesis statement and ensuring a logical flow throughout the essay are
crucial elements that demand careful attention. Balancing historical facts with analysis, providing
context, and drawing meaningful connections between different aspects of Greece's story
requires skillful writing. Additionally, the need to incorporate diverse perspectives and
interpretations while maintaining objectivity adds an extra layer of complexity.
Despite the challenges, the opportunity to explore the multifaceted aspects of Greece offers a
rewarding experience for both the writer and the reader. It requires a careful blend of historical
accuracy, analytical insight, and creative expression to produce an essay that not only informs
but also engages and captivates the audience.
In conclusion, tackling a Greece essay demands dedication, research prowess, and effective
writing skills. It's an endeavor that requires a deep dive into the annals of history, culture, and
philosophy. However, the satisfaction of weaving together a comprehensive narrative of Greece's
multifaceted journey is an intellectual reward in itself.

Standardized Test Scores An Accurate Representation Of A...
Are standardized test scores an accurate representation of a student s abilities?
Standardized tests can be found at any level of a student s academic career, but are
they accurate indicators of a student s academic abilities? Standardized tests are used
to measure a student s academic abilities, and overall knowledge. In theory, a student
s skills can be determined by examining the limited data collected from the test.
However, standardized test do not fully represent a student s abilities, and cumulative
knowledge. Many factors may affect the validity of the scores, and the accuracy of
the assessment. Instructor s teaching directly for the test, being able to guess on
multiple choice questions, examining only test scores, and ignoring other academic
factors contribute to the biased representation of students academic abilities.
Because instructors are teaching directly for the test, the data collected may not be an
accurate representation of the student s true abilities. As standardized test grow in
popularity among the school system, the pressure to achieve high scores rapidly
builds. The importance of high scores goes beyond individual students performances,
and teacher evaluations. Serious repercussions could result from poor scores, or
performances. For example, schools that continue to fail to improve may be closed,
and districts that continue to fail may be subject to state takeover (Posner). With the
weight of the success of the school on their shoulders,

not show any kind of guilt. Instead, he laughs and
My Letter For A Job Worker
Miriam came into my office one day stating that lately she is feeling very stressed
at work. She used to love her job but now she feels overworked, overwhelmed, and
out of control at work. She is snapping at other employees. She feels unsure of
herself at work, and incapable of leading and assisting others. When she is home
all she thinks about is work. She is having difficulty sleeping at night, she used to
be good at her job, but now she feels that she cannot cope, and she has missed
deadlines and feels un productive. One day she went into her office and closed the
door and cried over a patient interaction. She feels that she has so much work and
does not know where to start. Miriam feels that work is affecting her whole life.
She feels that her employer is making too many changes, and that things were
working well the way they were. She has a new supervisor. She liked the previous
supervisor because she always affirmed her when she did a good job. She feels
that the company should never have let her go. Miriam feels helpless and hopeless
on her job. She has begun drinking more in the evenings after work, more than she
use too. She feels it helps her to relax. She says that the drinking is getting out of
hand, and she is becoming more and more frustrated with work. Most individuals
work to earn a living. They need to support their lifestyles and their families. Some
people chose their job based on salary alone, and that, while understandable in today s

The United States During World War II
During World War II, the French colony of Indochina was occupied by the Japanese.
Indochina was formed from Cochin China, southern Vietnam, and Annam and
Tonkin, central and northern Vietnam, along with Cambodia and Laos. In 1941, a
Vietnamese nationalist, Ho Chi Minh formed a nationalist resistance, the Viet Minh,
to oppose the occupiers. The United States, at this time, gave their support to the Viet
Minh, who, under their communist leader, waged a guerilla war against the Japanese.
Near the end of the war, the Japanese began to promote Vietnamese nationalism and
granted them apparent nationalism. Also after the Japanese defeat, the French
returned to take back their colony. Ho Chi Minh allowed the French to enter Vietnam
only if they were acknowledged as an individual state in the French Union.
Discussions began in 1946 and ended quickly with the bombing by the French on the
Vietnamese city of Haiphong and entering the capital Hanoi by force. This soon
became known as the First Indochina War. The First Indochina War was fought
mainly on North Vietnam soil, but was soon ended in 1954 when the French were
defeated at Dien Bien Phu. The turning point in Asia occurred earlier in 1949 when
China became a communist country after communist rebels won the civil war. After
this point and on forward, the United States supported the anti communist South in
order to contain the spread of communism. In 1954, Vietnam signed a treaty at the
Geneva Conference allowing them

Response:
It is very informative and understandable in reading this piece of work. It is clear
that this has been written after much research work. I would certainly agree with
the fact that ESL implies that one language can be learnt at one time. This is not
true, when one can study different field studies than it is also possible to learn
multiple languages at a time. However, it might be difficult to learn multiple
languages at time. The case is different for English. English is much easier as
compared with many other difficult international languages. These readings are very
good to analyze and it is apparent that author has done much hard work to gather this
piece of information. Moreover, it is interesting to be read as well. I have ... Show

In the article call for the change , Kathleen Schenck is discussing the change,
which is needed in the acronyms terms, which are using to teach of English
language. Schenck reinforces her idea with an example of ESL (English as
Secondary languages) for the openers. She says, For openers the term (ESL) is
inaccurate i.e. the person may already have other languages as second, third and so
own. Schenck explains her view in way A Swiss nation may know Italian, German,
French and even Romansch before attempting English . On the other hand Schenck
demonstrate another concern with the word second is that it gives a message to the
learner that he will always considered English as a second language i.e. he can never
acquire native fluency. This could be disheartened for the learner and this fact will
always resist him to understand the accent of natives. While describing the rules of
linguistic schenck says, linguistic is no one dialect trumps another then she explains
her idea by referring the phrase beauty is in the eye likewise the appropriate sound
is that which is appropriate for the beholder i.e. beauty is in the ear of the beholder.
It is possible that a sound, which is sweet for a person, will be its dreadful for the
other. Overall Schenck enlighten that terms which are used to teach English, should
be change and modify by focusing the learners and understanding their requirement of

African American Pastoral Care Essay
Pastoral Care provides the essentials to support the African Americans and is most
vital to their experience in the United States in addition, providing survival and
coping skills, leading to worship. Black worship provided slaves with valuable
psychological and emotional remedies, which enabled them to combat slaverys
annihilation of their sense of self worth. Today, the Balm in Gilead is still the
authentic comfort, which helps to maintain sanity and balance in the African
Americans world of alienation, traditionalized, and incapability. To be concise, Black
worship has always been associated with pastoral care, providing members with
comfort and healing.
Both healing and comfort transpires during worship. However, Comfort occurs as the

American worship is a celebration of freedom in which people enter and experience
the liberating presence of the Holy Spirit. Consequently, known as black happening,

he would not leave the little ones alone in trouble.
However, a critical aspect of the liberation themes characteristic of Black worship is
its ability to refrain from becoming a victim of oppression of time. Although,
liberation in African American Christian worship is also manifest in the way of
music performance, with Black singers and instrumentalists seldom being satisfied to

The Three Types of Ancient Chinese Rulers
In ancient China, many different rulers tried to unify and rule the country using a
variety of methods Confucianism, Daoism, and Legalism to name a few. Each
philosophy had its own set of rules of how people should act both in public and
privately. The overall goal of each philosophy was to set a standard of acceptable
living that would ensure harmony and success for the society. However, each was
different and thus had different results. Legalism is a philosophy emphasizing strict
obedience to the legal system. It was one of the main philosophic currents during
the Warring States period and when it was most prominent. The school s most
famous proponent and contributor, Han Fei believed that a ruler should use the
following three tools to govern his subjects: law, method, and legitimacy. The law
code must be clearly written and made public. All people under the ruler were equal
before the law. Laws should reward those who obey them and punish accordingly
those who dare to break them. Thus it is guaranteed that actions taken are
systematically predictable. In addition, the system of law, not the ruler, ran the state,
a statement of rule of law. If the law is successfully enforced, even a weak ruler will
be strong. Especially important is that no one can fathom the ruler s motivations, and
thus no one can know which behavior might help them get ahead, other than
following the laws. Legitimacy is the position of the ruler, not the ruler himself or
herself, that holds the
Greed In The Rocking Horse Winner
The Rocking Horse Winner, a short story regarding a family that was alienated from
each other the mother of this story felt she was and her family were very unlucky
resulting in her distaste for her family. This story highlights the damaged relationship
between a mother and her child, also showing an upper class familythat was unable
keep up with the luxurious and lavish life style they once lived to be destroyed by
greed because they were haunted by the phrase there must be more money no matter
how much they have gotten. Although, she and her husband both had stable incomes,
the family was still not able to afford the life they wanted, the mothernot wiling to

It shows that she is insecure about many things and is in constant fear. In Today s
society a greed and thirst for money is very harmful on an individual, it causes many
acts of selflessness and it can consume a person. Having this greed can make one
very naГЇve and carless to its family and the ones that surround it. In Lawrence s,
The rocking horse winner, Esther the mother of this family had such a strong greed
for money she hated her family. Greed has no extremities and in return the
innocent pays the ultimate price. Paul the son of Esther just wanted his mothers
love and believed the only way he could do this is by getting her more funds. Due
to this Paul ends up dying by getting the money he wanted to earn his love.
Consumed by the fact that he felt money was the only way to get her love he did
not realize what he was doing to himself was actually killing him. Due to human
nature a person is never satisfied with what they have they also want more. The
consuming effects of a greed for money plays on to all social classes of today from
the richest to the poorest. Greed has caused more damage to the relationships of
families; inordinate and
Jesus Went Into The Desert Too
Jesus Went Into the Desert Too
Beth Alvarado is notably known for her short story Emily s Exit . The use of
religion sets the tone, and catches the eye of many readers in the essay. Religion is
the belief and worshipping of a preeminent being, while faith is the trust of this
preeminent being, not based on truth. Those of a Christian faith, therefore, have a
belief in this greater being who is known as God. They believe the claim that life is
an endowment from God, and that once we die, we continue to live for evermore in
heaven. Through close reading, It was clear that the author, Alvarado, wanted to
create a faintly disturbing story full of tension and anxiety (Alvarado, n.d.). Religion,
often times associated with death and despair, was used in the writing of Emily s Exit
to depict a story of dark suffering, evoke images and emotion... (Alvarado, n.d.), and
force the audience into understanding the seriousness and the severity of the events
that happen.
Religion is an un humorous matter to many people and their faith in God is
unbreakable. They couldn t conceptualize a life without God. In Emily s Exit , once
Emily disappeared, her mother ... became a Buddhist. It was the only way she could
deal with it (Alvarado, 2006, p. 428). This exemplifies how Alvarado used religion to
demonstrate the deep seriousness of the situation. It is assumed that, just like Emily,
her mother was a believer in Christianity as well. The action of Emily s mom

Serial Killer
When you hear the words serial killer, you instantly think about people like Jeffrey
Dahmer, Ed Gein, Ted Bundy, or Charles Manson. You don t think about a family
man with a wife and two children, county board member, President of the church
congregation council, or a Cub Scout leader. Dennis Rader possessed all of these
shining attributes. He also possessed a dark secret. This secret had festered in him
from an early age and grew as he got older. Dennis Raderhad fantasies about bondage,
control, and torture which eventually led to murder. Rader s reign of terror began in
1977 and ended with his capture in 2005, almost 30 years later. He labeled his
victims as projects . He hunted his prey in stages he described as the trolling stage
and stalking stage . He even called the tools used for his trade his hit kit . Dennis
Rader was a stone cold killer who had no plans of stopping.
The letters BTK stands for Bind, Torture and Kill , which was Rader s mode of
operation and a name he gave to himself. Throughout the years and in numerous
communications with the police, he talked about his need for acknowledgment. In
the 1990 s BTK had disappeared from sight when, without explanation, he re emerged
in 2004. This re emergence was more than likely due to his need for acknowledgment
or public attention. In 2004, Rader started sending multiple letters, clues, and photos
to the authorities that led to his capture and arrest in 2005.
Dennis Rader was born on March
Development Of Developing And Managing Offerings
Developing and managing offerings constitute one of the highest risk any
organization can make. These are decisions that can led to bankruptcy if it fails
nonetheless firms needs to continuously seek for ways to meet those needs if they
must stay in business. Sure, in your area you have seen some businesses shut their
doors after just a few periods of existence. Some firms like Adidas, Samsung and
Nike have more than one product while others have just one. What is certain in this
relationship is that the development process follow seven steps principles but may
differ based on the business make up and the organization. The first step of this
process is idea development. Ide Generation. Conception phase or ide generation one

prowess of the different products, which after looking and financial capacity of the

concert hall and sheet music. We are able to hear the styles and structures of the
past as well as the feelings and individual initiatives of composers in relation to the
time period. The Chicago Symphony Orchestra provides an avenue for listeners
from a wide range of backgrounds to hear and hopefully enjoy the sounds of the past.
The two pieces preformed are styles notable from the modern era, both originating in
Russia. The Chicago SymphonyOrchestras presentation of Rachmaninov s Piano

The other composer s piece performed was Dmitri Shostakovich, who was born in

experiences of conflict, and grief of war with the music. The revolution in his
upbringing sparked and inspired many of his orchestra compositions. Music
became his voice and way of communicating the political stress without saying
anything at all. The orchestra played from Symphony No. 8, which is a piece
without ties to a specific cause our purpose explicitly said by the composer, but
assumed to be more emotional. The conductor of these pieces was Semyon

Daniil Trifonov. Bychkoz has talent to conduct within opera and symphonic music;
he has traveled worldwide to take part in both genres. He has ties with numerous

Racial profiling and police accountability, in particular, are two extremely important
aspects that they focus on because it is quite prevalent in present society. Because
Gabbidon and Greene chose to include sections based on this, it depicts that they
have a working knowledge of the world today. Gabbidon and Greene also
concentrate on the court system and how sentencing rates vary depending on a
person s race. They explain that bail is frequently set at higher rates for minorities
than for others and they provide evidence to support this fact with data tables and in
text citations; moreover, they also assert that minorities frequently spend a much
longer time in jail awaiting a trial. Based on this data, the two authors write, little has
changed over the past two centuries to catch the reader s attention and further force
the reader to ponder. However, even though there are still numerous problems in this
world regarding race, this comment is an exaggeration and a gap in logic because
there has been major change in the world compared to the past. The two authors
regularly overemphasize ideas in order to surprise the reader and maintain his or her
attention. Gabbidon and Greene then continue to focus on the trend in sentencing that
minorities get compared to
Improving Student Response
Improving Class Participation and Understanding Using a Student Response System
Traditional methods of student feedback, such as hand raising, make it impossible for
more than one person at a time to answer questions. Student response systems or
clickers allow every student in the class to participate and evaluate their
understanding of the material.
Little to no research exists on the use of clickers in a nurse anesthesia program.
Improving class participation and understanding may even equate to increased
motivation and performance in the future. Every student could potentially benefit
from a student response system.
Not only can students benefit academically, but clickers can also make the learning
environment more dynamic and interactive. Students are more attentive to the
material presented. Faculty members are also able to assess student understanding
throughout lectures, instead of after testing is completed.
The goal was to make learning at a nurse anesthesia school a more dynamic process
for both students and faculty through the use of a student response system. ... Show

The mixed results may be due to the way questions were presented or even how
responsive and interactive the facilitator was with the results. The results could be
contributed to the way the clicker system was introduced. Each of these items could
have an effect on the students perception. A study was done that focused on a model
for selecting, implementing, and evaluating a student response system reviewed
literature for best practice techniques. The study found that SRS technology must be
selected carefully to match teaching practices (Klein Kientz, 2013). Faculty must be
dynamic and flexible. As data is analyzed and displayed by the receiver, he or she
may need to be creative and change how or what they are teaching based on the
responses (Klein Kientz,

Mrs. K. Pendarvis Abstract
There a lot of reasons why recycling is important in our community and especially at
schools, hospitals, and in households. The success of a recycling depends on the
active and continuous participation of people with the correct separation and
collection of recyclable waste. Recycling is something that everyone can all do.
Children that are school age and older can help out too. The goal is to stop tossing
out items that can be use again and again. Recycling in schools help to improve the

Increased recycling means less trash entering landfills. The greatest environmental
benefit of recycling is the use of energy and natural resources when old materials
are used to make new products. Many consider recycling an easy task. Products
that become garbage have an effect on global warming, which makes recycling as a
viable option. The phrase Reduce, Reuse, Recycle was coined to promote recycling
and a clean environment. Recycling is a simple way in which people can contribute
to making a better world. It takes time and effort to collect, separate and send trash
away. Recycling effects every aspect of our environment homes, schools and
hospitals.

Recycling in Households
Household waste management is a growing problem in the United States and
many other parts of the world. The U.S. creates a lot of household solid waste per
day per person. If there is a huge population of millions of people in a small area,
household garbage can easily accumulate to 100,000 pounds per day. A few years
ago, residents made a million tons of city waste per year and a billion tons of
industrial solid wastes. In 2006, the U.S. residents generated half of 251 tons million
tons of municipal solid waste per year and about 8 billion tons of industrial solid
waste. This tremendous amount of waste includes both hazardous and nonhazardous
waste. (Massawe, et.al, 2014) A better understanding of household behavior is needed

(Toronto, ON) Mortgage rates vary greatly based on multiple factors. The selected
lender, whether the rate is variable or fixed and the term length of the loan are
important in this process, thus potential homebuyers need to gather information on
current interest rates before selecting a mortgage product. For example, on March

Applebee s Evaluation Essay examples
Eatin Good in the Neighborhood As my girlfriend and I pull into a crowded
parking lot during a chilly Friday evening, we struggle to find a spot of our own,
but manage to do so as we take the place of another young couple as they pull out to
leave. I put the car in park as we both gaze at the numerous parties walkinginto the
restaurant. A bright sign, hung lit overhead, shining the phrase Applebee s
Neighborhood Bar and Grill atop a red brick building. Awnings were placed above
every window, and resting on the ground, between each window, was a wooden
park bench surrounded by lush, green foliage on either side. The whole place
looked as if it had been pulled straight from a friendly neighborhood in the heart of
the big apple. I... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I was already pleased with the experience thus far, but it would only get better upon
meeting Sheila. Hi guys, welcome to Applebee s, my name s Sheila. I ll be your
waitress tonight. Is there anything I can get you guys to drink? A very clichГ©,
and well rehearsed line, but it was pleasantly delivered, and I did in fact feel
welcome. She was quick to the table, adding to the speed of the service that we
were already receiving. I ordered my usual tall glass of water with a single lemon
wedge, and my girlfriend asked for a classic lemonade. She promised that they d be
right out, and within minutes, I heard the clinking of ice, as two oversized glasses,
dripping with condensation were placed onto our table. Sheila laid down some
straws and asked if we were ready to order. I informed her we d be needing a
moment, as there were so many menu items, and my mouth watered for such a
variety, I needed more time to choose. She smiled and left us to decide as she
politely greeted a new party that was walking through the door. I was highly
impressed with the staff here. They added to the warm and inviting ambience
commonly experienced at Applebee s restaurants, and I was loving every minute of
it. Our minds were made up, as I decided to press my luck with one of Applebee s
own signature classics, Fiesta Lime Chicken. My girlfriend chose to play it safe and
went with a mundane order of chicken strips
Standardization in the 1920s Essay
The 1920s became known as an era memorable for being a time when new products,
new ways of marketing and advertising, and standardization gave the country new
ways to interact, enjoy themselves, and introduce them to new products. Although
very common today, standardization of mass culture like magazines, radio, movies,
music, and sports were exciting new innovations to the people of this time. Not only
did they distract from the monotony and stresses of work but they created celebrities
that people aspired to be like. Similar to businesses standardizing in making and
advertising consumers goods, the practice of mass producing culture standardized
and sped up in the 1920s. Radio became a national obsession. What started out as

Magazines flourished. One in particular was Reader?s Digest which presented
condensed pieces of writing formerly published elsewhere. Book publishers not
only sold books though bookstores but in departments stores or through the Book
of the Month Club and the Literary Guild. Jazz was a new type of music that took
the country by storm spreading by live performances, phonograph records, and the
radio. During this time the work environment of many businesses changed
drastically. Businesses began using assembly lines to speed up production and
gave employees repetitive tasks to do all day long. However, workers were getting
treated a lot better. In addition to cafeterias and other employee associations,
workers were getting paid more which allowed them to have extra money to put
back into leisure time activates. Many used the time they weren?t at work to seek
fulfillment in what they lack in the workplace. Because workers were not allowed to
interact with each other, the time spent out of work was used as time to socialize
with others. Celebrities became idols in American society as a result of media
promotion. Babe Ruth and Ty Cobb were both glorified as outstanding baseball
players. Although Ruth was a heavy drinking womanizer and Cobb an ill tempered
racist, nicknames like ?the Sultan of Swat? and ?the Georgia Peach? made them
heroes in public eye. Charles Lindbergh became
The Varying Practices of Allopathic Medicine and...
There are to branches of medicine currently practiced in the United States
Osteopathic Medicine and Allopathic Medicine. Throughout this paper I am going to
discuss the history, practices and beliefs of Osteopathic Medicine as well as describe
the differences between Allopathic Medicine and Osteopathic Medicine.
Osteopathic Medicine has a deep rooted belief in its core values and puts a very
strong emphasis on non invasive, hands on holistic medical practices. Osteopathic
medicine puts all its focus on its belief that the manipulation of bones, joints and
muscles can be used to diagnose and treat a variety of ailments. Osteopathic medical
principles believe that the body is capable of healing, maintaining and regulating
itself without the use of pharmaceutical drugs or invasive procedures that are seen as
doing more harm than good.
During the early 19th century there was the beginning of a new movement to
revolutionize medicine. In 1892 a physician by the name of Andrew Still, MD as a
protest against the conventional medical system founded the American School of
Osteopathy in Kirksville, MO. Still believed strongly that the current medical system
of the time was full of corruption, not efficient and was in the habit of treating the
disease and illness and did not worry about the underlying issues that caused the
affliction to begin with. Still founded Osteopathy during a time in which he believed
that conventional medicine was doing more harm than it was good.
Fear of Communism Caused the Vietnam War Essay
The Vietnam war has been referred to by many names, one of the longer ones was
the cornerstone of the free world southeast Asia . It was called that by John F.
Kennedy. He was talking about Vietnam being and essential country in a non
communist world. He believed that if Vietnam became a communist country, all of
the surrounding countries would also become communists. This is the main reason
America was involved in the Vietnam war. Another reason was that America wanted
to spread their political ideas around the globe . They wanted to do this so that their
anti communism stance was clear. The public also wanted to keep communism from
spreading. To soldiers, the war was like a crusade, a great journey to purge the
communists from Vietnam.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The public was on board the war train for the first few years of the war, until they
found out what it was actually like in Vietnam. Public view of the war immediately
changed negatively. When the news reached the soldiers in Vietnam, reactions
were mixed. While they could understand why the people didn t like the prospect
of war, they were still killing even when they didn t want to for their country. Some
soldiers didn t know how to respond. One solder wrote to his mother and told her
that for one second he felt as if he was on vacation because it was so beautiful in
Vietnam. Another one told his mom not to worry, there is nothing I can t handle .
While the soldiers could handle the physical horrors happening to them, it was the
mental stuff that was breaking them down. The Vietnam war did not officially start
until the 1950 s. This is when the U.S. started sending in troops. Before then the
French had been trying to conquer what was then called Indochina. They began their
conquest in 1859, by 1888 they had turned the area that is now called Vietnam and
Cambodia into the Colony of French Indochina. This was challenged many times by
different uprisings but none worked as well as the Viet Minh common front( this was
controlled by the Vietnamese communist party). During WWII the French were
defeated by the Germans. This severely weakened their authority in Vietnam. In 1940
the Japanese invaded and
Wrongful Loss In Court Cases
Dealing with the unexpected loss of a family member is a difficult event for
anyone to take. When that death is caused by a third party, it complicates the
situation and amplifies the pain for those left behind due to the knowledge that the
loss did not have to happen. In many cases, loved ones of the deceased are able to file
a wrongful deathlawsuit against whomever was responsible. While this does not by
any means fill the emotional hole left behind in the person s absence, a win in court
does help with the monetary strain that occurs in the aftermath.
Families often have many questions in regards to the requirements of a wrongful
death lawsuit. Who can file? What constitutes as wrongful death? What types of
damages can be recovered? In this article, we will answer these questions and share
information to help you decide how to best move forward with your case. ... Show

A wrongful act typically involves careless behavior by the offender, but the act can
also be intentional. Some of the most common wrongful death cases include claims
of medical malpractice in which the practitioner either made a bad decision or simply
did nothing to prevent a death when action could still have been taken. Other cases
see lawsuits being brought against companies whose methods are blatantly negligent
and have caused deadly illness or injury, oftentimes to numerous people.
Wrongful death is generally similar to standard personal injury claims. In the
former, however, the injury has claimed the injured person s life so that he or she
could not bring the lawsuit to court on his or her own account. So instead, someone
else has to bring the case to court on the decedent s

Martinez I learned about the symbolic representation of many items that go into a
DГa de los Muertos altar and about Ms. Chavez. One important item that goes into an
altar are marigolds. Marigolds are yellow orange flowers, these flowers are also
called cempasГєchitl. They symbolize death. The significance of these flowers is
that their strong fragrance helps lead the dead back to their altars. The pedals from
the marigolds are spread out in the floor of the altar to the door so that their spirit
can find their way to the altar. Food and drinks are another important part of an
altar. Food and drink are important in an altar because they represent the person or
persons who have passed away s favorite food and drinks when he/she was alive.
But the souls that visit the altar can t eat the food because they have no bodies
instead it is said that they absorb the aroma and energy of the food. After the
holiday is over the food is distributed between their families and the food is tasteless
because their essence is gone. Two more important items in an altar are salt that
represents the continuance of life and pan de muertos which is bread of the dead is a

and Labour (led by Deputy PM Clement Attlee) broke up in 1945 over the question of
the nature of the British society in the future.
2)The Conservatives would have been happy for a return to the inter war practice of
leaving private enterprise to its own devices and limiting the state to tasks that were
absolutely essential in maintaining public order and safety.

2)Nevertheless, the economy went into recession part of it home made, as British
investors felt unduly pressured by Wilson to join in his plans and therefore refused to

countries. After the Year of Independence (1960) many former colonies reduced or
severed their links with Britain, while on the other hand links with the EEC could not

3)Despite this crisis, the unions (much stronger than now) forced the Labour

Comparing Buddha s Noble Eightfold Path And Four Noble

1.The Buddha s Noble Eightfold Path and Four Noble Truth are basically the Ten
Commandments. Ideas and thoughts of not lying comes from Revelations 21:8 All
liars go to hell. Noble Eightfold Path says no lusting, not stealing, not bring harm to

The Memory Palace Of Matteo Ricci Analysis
Matteo Ricci was a born in Italy in 1552. He became a Jesuit and went a mission to
China in 1583. He lived out the rest of his twenty seven years in China, bringing in
Western culture and technology, while learning about what China had to offer. In
his novel, The Memory Palace of Matteo Ricci, Jonathan Spence retells Ricci s life
story, while also adding information about the world at the time. Spence tells Ricci
s story in an interesting way, by assigning Chinese characters and images that he
believes Ricci would have used in his memory palace, a fictional tool to remember
what that took place during his life. The memory palace works by assigning
memories to a character or image, so when you think of the image, you can
remember the memories associated with it. Spence then breaks up the chapters
separately by each image or character and talks about the history and story from
Ricci s life associated with the image or character. This essay will primarily focus on
chapter four of the novel, though a summary of the themes of chapter six is included
as well. In chapter four Spence largely discusses the three main religions of the
Western world, Christianity, Islam, and Judaism, and then draws parallels with the
three largest religions in Chinaat the time, Confucianism, Buddhism, and Daoism.
However, these examples are not the only instances where a trio of three religions
and belief systems are present. At the end of the Warring States period in China,
around 350 BCE, China was

management classes to do so. The risk was too high for Farmer E once seeing the

A defamatory statement is any statement which
a) Exposes the plaintiff to hatred , contempt , ridicule , or obloquy; or

c)causes him to be shunned or avoided by his neighbours
In the present fact situation, with the publication of the nude photos of Princess babe
and Prince Skaterboy, especially in the state of United Boredom which is a state
known for its conservativeness and respect for its strong culture and tradition, it can
safely be deduced that it would have damaged the reputation of the plaintiffs in the
eyes of the members of the society.
2) The words must refer to the plaintiff
In the magazine, Spice it up , the nude photos of the plaintiffs were published, and

The photos were also printed inside the magazine, along with the details of the past
affairs of Princess Babe. Analyzing this, it can be concluded that the words which
were published did in fact refer to the plaintiff.
In the case of Mrs. Gossipy, She expressly referred to the impending King and

so it is res ipsa loquitor that her statement referred to the plaintiffs.

supporting documentation on the formatting of the assignment. Then, I read through
the assignment and found some information in the tasks that I had questions on.
Knowing the assignments tasks, I will gather a short list of reliable resources to
help get me started. Next, I will look up background information that I need more
knowledge on. For example, I need to look up what the boiling points and enthalpy
of vaporization of straight chain 1 monochloroalkanes are. I have not taken Organic
Chemistry and this may by my weakness, so I will have to do extra background
research. Using my knowledge of general chemistry and Microsoft office, I will
practice data gathering and formatting, data analysis, and communication skills in
this first assignment. For task one, we are required to find eight straight chain 1
monochloroalkanes, eight 1 alchohols, and eight 1 monofluoroalkanes. Many online
databases list compounds like these and report specific or averaged scientific data.
For example, PubChem, NIST, and Chemspider all have reputable data with sources
listed for each data point. Following the assignment formatting guidelines, I will

You hear that one of your choices is severely backed up, so you decide to go with
you other decision to arrive to work punctually and safely.
The nature of logic as understood is when you have a situation, belief, custom, etc.
that is examined and reviewed in great detail to discover the reasoning behind certain
deeds. Critical thinking as I understand is when you view a situation in numerous
ways to get a precise answer or best results. The nature of logic relates to critical
thinking by examining the situation and thoughts to get a clearer decision of possible
outcomes, or reasoning.
We make one major judgment when we first encounter a person or situation and then
we carry that impression forward into subsequent interactions, is what we call
perceptual shortcuts. Viewing people as steady or constant is directly related to first
impressions and involves a belief that people will not, or can not, change their
behavior.
There are factors that can affect this process such as; biological, social/cultural and
language factors. Apart from these values, beliefs and attitudes have a sound effect
on a person?s perception.
Since people make judgments based on their perception, a lot of misinterpretation
and conflict is caused. So in order to keep things on the right track, all one has to do
is listen and look well and definitely not jump to conclusions; for this patience is
necessary.
My perceptual blocks developed from the environment I resided in.

The past always comes back and it may not be the way someone wanted. In the book
The Demon King by Cinda Williams Chima, and The Lightning Thief by Rick
Riordan the theme is decisions made by one in the past can affect the one s future.
The theme is developed through the conflict that the characters undergo. Han in the
Demon king decided to join the Raggers in his pastand caused conflict throughout the
book. Percy withheld information and cause unfortunate events to occur causing
forces to go against him. One example, Is when Han goes to the south bridge, he gets
himself into a position where he is confronted by the southies. Shiv explained to Han

Technology Plan Design
Introduction: Technology Plan Design A technology plan should set the direction for
the future use of technology as a tool for assisting School District in attaining their
vision, mission, and goals. As noted by Picciano (2011), planning should include a
comprehensive approach to identifying needs, commitment to follow through with
action steps and resource acquisition, collaboration between internal and external
publics. The planshould also be a continuity between change and a connection to the
past that builds toward the futuredetailing objectives, rationale, strategies, and
measurements. This approach to planning assists in developing a technology plan
through minimizing risks by establishing basic evaluation criteria early in the process
(pp 20 25) such as identification of measurable goals and insuring that all
stakeholders are involved throughout the process. Knight (2011) and Senge (2001,
2012) recommend using a systems approach to planning and Picciano (2011) supports
this by describing an implementationmodel that defines, designs, develops and
disseminates technology in small incremental stages until satisfied that the
technology is meeting expected goals on a limited basis before implementing on a
larger scale (p. 25). Using a systems approach, a technology plan must identify
operational feasibility and is often best implemented through a pilot or phased in
process. While a technology plan can look excellent on paper, identifying needs,

Air Arms Fire Was Hit By Enemy Fire
As we were ending a meeting with the local elders, my platoon was hit by enemy
fire. This was the Konar River Valley. Only one road traveled north from our
Combat Outpost (COP) towards the main FOB. On the east side were cliffs that
would send you plummeting down towards the Konar River. The other side of the
road varied between sharp cliffs to rolling hills that all inevitably jutted upward to the
mountainous landscape adjacent to us. We were afforded Mine Resistant Armor
Protected vehicles (MRAPs) that protected us from most of the harm during our
transit to the various towns and city centers along the river. We were beginning to
load back into the trucks to begin our move back to the COP. That s when the shots
rang out. Both... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unfortunately one of the ANA soldiers that was critically hit wasn t able to survive
the trip back. Regardless of the nature of the injury, we would treat our ANA
counterparts as we would have our own, and dressing the wound even in a vain
with the same commitment we would have due to our own. Our Kandak worked
well with us for this reason. As we were refitting our vehicles with ammunition and
cleaning them back out from the prior engagement, we got a call from our
Company Commander. He wanted us to head back out immediately to conduct
another mission in the same area. He wanted us to move up the mountainside to a
village just above a valley where we were receiving the enemy fire from. He
wanted us to engage the local elders and ask them why we were being attacked
from the area and to see what kind of information we could get about the enemy
fighters in the area. This valley was right across the river from the Hellgal valley. It
had been known that this has historically been one of the major routes that has been
used that leads to a number of camps in Pakistan. I could hear my Platoon Leader
(PL) grasping at straws as we tried to explain that it was still a hot area from the
contact and tried to explain that part of the area. He told the commander that we didn
t have an interpreter at the time anymore either. Our commander
Poverty, Education, Sanitation, Malnutrition, And Child...
There are been a consistent campaign to improve conditions around the world in
regards to poverty, education, sanitation, hunger, and child mortality. Several non
government organization (NGO), charitable establishments, and non profit
corporations work to advance impoverished countries and decrease disparities. These
agencies partner with local, national, and international institutions to promote their
particular health or educational agenda. Although, these establishments face financial
shortfalls at times, they have managed to improve condition around the world in
some areas. Bolivia is a country with many complex cultures, geography obstacles,
several indigenous populations, a history of political turmoil, and poverty. It is one of
the poorest countries in South America. Bolivia faces many third world problems
with poverty being the biggest factor for many of these issues. There are alarming
figures with ratios that vary from six out of ten to nine out of ten live in poverty or
extreme poverty in Bolivia (Castillo Carniglia, Weisstaub, Aguiree, Aguilar, Araya
2010).
The United Nations has developed Millennium goals to eliminate inequalities around
the world. One of the intentions is to improve quality of life by extinguishing hunger
and poverty globally. The purpose of this paper is to probe how poverty effects
nutrition in the country of Bolivia and discuss possible strategies to effect change for
better outcomes.

Maslow s Hierarchy Of Needs
1.Identify three personal goals. Now, review Abraham Maslow s hierarchy of
needs. Describe Maslow s theory, and explain how your goals either align or do not
align with his theory. Provide specific details to demonstrate your knowledge of
Maslow s theory.
Attempting to explain human motivations Abraham Maslow suggested that there
was a hierarchy of needs, according to module 9.2 (n.d.) they are an ascending
order from basic survival to more complex needs of self fulfillment (para 17).
While Maslow felt that very few people achieved the highest level of self
actualization he did suggest that it was a lifelong ongoing process. As an example,
in my own life I have already achieved the first step of physiological motivation or
needs of the flesh ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First I will start by stating that I am evolving in my view and beliefs on this matter
and I remain open to civilized dialog even if they challenge them. I have no
problem with same sex marriages, of course the same standards must be met that
apply to all marriages. I do feel the emotional commitment that same sex couples
have with each other are as real as my own for my wife. Furthermore, I don t think
it is a conscious choice of the individual any more than I chose to be attracted to the
opposite sex. These views are supported by what I have experienced and been
exposed to rather than what was presented in this lesson. However, the material
presented did offer some things for me to ponder. First the books by Dr. Dr. Alfred
Kinsey mentioned in module 9.4 (n.d.) did offer some insight that while the books
may have been inaccurate they did generate dialog. This behavior is deviant by
societal norms and I don t think science will change the emotions surrounding the
controversy. Historically supporting argument with the mention of Navajo beliefs on
the subject held weight for me, and their belief of masculine and feminine in
everyone resonates true. Overall for me even after reading this lesson I have a hard
time using it support my beliefs, I feel this more based on

ENVIRONMENT OF BUSINESS
ASSIGNMENT
Describe 6 Forces that Operation
Managers go for or look out for in the Environment of their Businesses or
Organizations.
There are many forces that Operations managers go for or look for in their business
environments. They Include:
1.Threat of New Entrants
The easier it is for new companies to enter the industry, the more cut throat
competition there will be. Factors that can limit the threat of new entrants are known
as barriers to entry. Some examples include:
Existing loyalty to major brands
Incentives for using a particular buyer (such as frequent shopper programs)
High fixed costs
Scarcity of resources
Government restrictions or legislation
Entry protection ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Are there existing technological hubs that you could work with or learn from?
Are there any other technological factors that you should consider
3.Power of Suppliers
This is how much pressure suppliers can place on a business. If one supplier has a
large enough impact to affect a company s margins and volumes, then they hold
substantial power. Here are a few reasons that suppliers might have power:
There are very few suppliers of a particular product
There are no substitutes
The product is extremely important to the buyer, they cannot do without it
The supplying industry has a higher profitability than the buying industry
Supplier switching costs relative to firm switching costs
Degree of differentiation of inputs
Presence of substitute inputs
Supplier concentration to firm concentration ratio
Threat of forward integration by suppliers relative to the threat of backward
integration by firms
Cost of inputs relative to selling price of the product
4.Power of Buyers/ Customers
This is how much pressure customers can place on a business. If one customer has a
large enough impact to affect a company s margins and volumes, then they hold
substantial power. Here are a few reasons that customers might have power
Small number of buyers
Purchases of large volumes
Switching to another (competitive) product is simple
The product is not extremely important to the buyer, they can do without it for a
period of time.

  • 2. Standardized Test Scores An Accurate Representation Of A... Are standardized test scores an accurate representation of a student s abilities? Standardized tests can be found at any level of a student s academic career, but are they accurate indicators of a student s academic abilities? Standardized tests are used to measure a student s academic abilities, and overall knowledge. In theory, a student s skills can be determined by examining the limited data collected from the test. However, standardized test do not fully represent a student s abilities, and cumulative knowledge. Many factors may affect the validity of the scores, and the accuracy of the assessment. Instructor s teaching directly for the test, being able to guess on multiple choice questions, examining only test scores, and ignoring other academic factors contribute to the biased representation of students academic abilities. Because instructors are teaching directly for the test, the data collected may not be an accurate representation of the student s true abilities. As standardized test grow in popularity among the school system, the pressure to achieve high scores rapidly builds. The importance of high scores goes beyond individual students performances, and teacher evaluations. Serious repercussions could result from poor scores, or performances. For example, schools that continue to fail to improve may be closed, and districts that continue to fail may be subject to state takeover (Posner). With the weight of the success of the school on their shoulders,

  • 5. The United States During World War II During World War II, the French colony of Indochina was occupied by the Japanese. Indochina was formed from Cochin China, southern Vietnam, and Annam and Tonkin, central and northern Vietnam, along with Cambodia and Laos. In 1941, a Vietnamese nationalist, Ho Chi Minh formed a nationalist resistance, the Viet Minh, to oppose the occupiers. The United States, at this time, gave their support to the Viet Minh, who, under their communist leader, waged a guerilla war against the Japanese. Near the end of the war, the Japanese began to promote Vietnamese nationalism and granted them apparent nationalism. Also after the Japanese defeat, the French returned to take back their colony. Ho Chi Minh allowed the French to enter Vietnam only if they were acknowledged as an individual state in the French Union. Discussions began in 1946 and ended quickly with the bombing by the French on the Vietnamese city of Haiphong and entering the capital Hanoi by force. This soon became known as the First Indochina War. The First Indochina War was fought mainly on North Vietnam soil, but was soon ended in 1954 when the French were defeated at Dien Bien Phu. The turning point in Asia occurred earlier in 1949 when China became a communist country after communist rebels won the civil war. After this point and on forward, the United States supported the anti communist South in order to contain the spread of communism. In 1954, Vietnam signed a treaty at the Geneva Conference allowing them

  • 8. The Three Types of Ancient Chinese Rulers In ancient China, many different rulers tried to unify and rule the country using a variety of methods Confucianism, Daoism, and Legalism to name a few. Each philosophy had its own set of rules of how people should act both in public and privately. The overall goal of each philosophy was to set a standard of acceptable living that would ensure harmony and success for the society. However, each was different and thus had different results. Legalism is a philosophy emphasizing strict obedience to the legal system. It was one of the main philosophic currents during the Warring States period and when it was most prominent. The school s most famous proponent and contributor, Han Fei believed that a ruler should use the following three tools to govern his subjects: law, method, and legitimacy. The law code must be clearly written and made public. All people under the ruler were equal before the law. Laws should reward those who obey them and punish accordingly those who dare to break them. Thus it is guaranteed that actions taken are systematically predictable. In addition, the system of law, not the ruler, ran the state, a statement of rule of law. If the law is successfully enforced, even a weak ruler will be strong. Especially important is that no one can fathom the ruler s motivations, and thus no one can know which behavior might help them get ahead, other than following the laws. Legitimacy is the position of the ruler, not the ruler himself or herself, that holds the

  • 10. Jesus Went Into The Desert Too Jesus Went Into the Desert Too Beth Alvarado is notably known for her short story Emily s Exit . The use of religion sets the tone, and catches the eye of many readers in the essay. Religion is the belief and worshipping of a preeminent being, while faith is the trust of this preeminent being, not based on truth. Those of a Christian faith, therefore, have a belief in this greater being who is known as God. They believe the claim that life is an endowment from God, and that once we die, we continue to live for evermore in heaven. Through close reading, It was clear that the author, Alvarado, wanted to create a faintly disturbing story full of tension and anxiety (Alvarado, n.d.). Religion, often times associated with death and despair, was used in the writing of Emily s Exit to depict a story of dark suffering, evoke images and emotion... (Alvarado, n.d.), and force the audience into understanding the seriousness and the severity of the events that happen. Religion is an un humorous matter to many people and their faith in God is unbreakable. They couldn t conceptualize a life without God. In Emily s Exit , once Emily disappeared, her mother ... became a Buddhist. It was the only way she could deal with it (Alvarado, 2006, p. 428). This exemplifies how Alvarado used religion to demonstrate the deep seriousness of the situation. It is assumed that, just like Emily, her mother was a believer in Christianity as well. The action of Emily s mom dropping her religion, and

Is there anything I can get you guys to drink? A very clichГ©, and well rehearsed line, but it was pleasantly delivered, and I did in fact feel welcome. She was quick to the table, adding to the speed of the service that we were already receiving. I ordered my usual tall glass of water with a single lemon wedge, and my girlfriend asked for a classic lemonade. She promised that they d be right out, and within minutes, I heard the clinking of ice, as two oversized glasses, dripping with condensation were placed onto our table. Sheila laid down some straws and asked if we were ready to order. I informed her we d be needing a moment, as there were so many menu items, and my mouth watered for such a variety, I needed more time to choose. She smiled and left us to decide as she politely greeted a new party that was walking through the door. I was highly impressed with the staff here. They added to the warm and inviting ambience commonly experienced at Applebee s restaurants, and I was loving every minute of it. Our minds were made up, as I decided to press my luck with one of Applebee s own signature classics, Fiesta Lime Chicken. My girlfriend chose to play it safe and went with a mundane order of chicken strips

Standardization in the 1920s Essay The 1920s became known as an era memorable for being a time when new products, new ways of marketing and advertising, and standardization gave the country new ways to interact, enjoy themselves, and introduce them to new products. Although very common today, standardization of mass culture like magazines, radio, movies, music, and sports were exciting new innovations to the people of this time. Not only did they distract from the monotony and stresses of work but they created celebrities that people aspired to be like. During this time the work environment of many businesses changed drastically. Businesses began using assembly lines to speed up production and gave employees repetitive tasks to do all day long. However, workers were getting treated a lot better. In addition to cafeterias and other employee associations, workers were getting paid more which allowed them to have extra money to put back into leisure time activates. Many used the time they weren?t at work to seek fulfillment in what they lack in the workplace. Because workers were not allowed to interact with each other, the time spent out of work was used as time to socialize with others. Throughout this paper I am going to discuss the history, practices and beliefs of Osteopathic Medicine as well as describe the differences between Allopathic Medicine and Osteopathic Medicine. Osteopathic Medicine has a deep rooted belief in its core values and puts a very strong emphasis on non invasive, hands on holistic medical practices. Osteopathic medicine puts all its focus on its belief that the manipulation of bones, joints and muscles can be used to diagnose and treat a variety of ailments. Osteopathic medical principles believe that the body is capable of healing, maintaining and regulating itself without the use of pharmaceutical drugs or invasive procedures that are seen as doing more harm than good. During the early 19th century there was the beginning of a new movement to revolutionize medicine. In 1892 a physician by the name of Andrew Still, MD as a protest against the conventional medical system founded the American School of Osteopathy in Kirksville, MO. Still believed strongly that the current medical system of the time was full of corruption, not efficient and was in the habit of treating the disease and illness and did not worry about the underlying issues that caused the affliction to begin with. Still founded Osteopathy during a time in which he believed that conventional medicine was doing more harm than it was good.

The public was on board the war train for the first few years of the war, until they found out what it was actually like in Vietnam. Public view of the war immediately changed negatively. When the news reached the soldiers in Vietnam, reactions were mixed. One solder wrote to his mother and told her that for one second he felt as if he was on vacation because it was so beautiful in Vietnam. Another one told his mom not to worry, there is nothing I can t handle . While the soldiers could handle the physical horrors happening to them, it was the mental stuff that was breaking them down. He lived out the rest of his twenty seven years in China, bringing in Western culture and technology, while learning about what China had to offer. In his novel, The Memory Palace of Matteo Ricci, Jonathan Spence retells Ricci s life story, while also adding information about the world at the time. Spence tells Ricci s story in an interesting way, by assigning Chinese characters and images that he believes Ricci would have used in his memory palace, a fictional tool to remember what that took place during his life. The memory palace works by assigning memories to a character or image, so when you think of the image, you can remember the memories associated with it. Spence then breaks up the chapters separately by each image or character and talks about the history and story from Ricci s life associated with the image or character. This essay will primarily focus on chapter four of the novel, though a summary of the themes of chapter six is included as well. In chapter four Spence largely discusses the three main religions of the Western world, Christianity, Islam, and Judaism, and then draws parallels with the three largest religions in Chinaat the time, Confucianism, Buddhism, and Daoism. Technology Plan Design Introduction: Technology Plan Design A technology plan should set the direction for the future use of technology as a tool for assisting School District in attaining their vision, mission, and goals. As noted by Picciano (2011), planning should include a comprehensive approach to identifying needs, commitment to follow through with action steps and resource acquisition, collaboration between internal and external publics. The planshould also be a continuity between change and a connection to the past that builds toward the futuredetailing objectives, rationale, strategies, and measurements. This approach to planning assists in developing a technology plan through minimizing risks by establishing basic evaluation criteria early in the process (pp 20 25) such as identification of measurable goals and insuring that all stakeholders are involved throughout the process. Using a systems approach, a technology plan must identify operational feasibility and is often best implemented through a pilot or phased in process. • 40. Air Arms Fire Was Hit By Enemy Fire As we were ending a meeting with the local elders, my platoon was hit by enemy fire. This was the Konar River Valley. Only one road traveled north from our Combat Outpost (COP) towards the main FOB. On the east side were cliffs that would send you plummeting down towards the Konar River. The other side of the road varied between sharp cliffs to rolling hills that all inevitably jutted upward to the mountainous landscape adjacent to us. We were afforded Mine Resistant Armor Protected vehicles (MRAPs) that protected us from most of the harm during our transit to the various towns and city centers along the river. We were beginning to load back into the trucks to begin our move back to the COP. That s when the shots rang out. Both... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unfortunately one of the ANA soldiers that was critically hit wasn t able to survive the trip back. Regardless of the nature of the injury, we would treat our ANA counterparts as we would have our own, and dressing the wound even in a vain with the same commitment we would have due to our own. Our Kandak worked well with us for this reason. As we were refitting our vehicles with ammunition and cleaning them back out from the prior engagement, we got a call from our Company Commander. He wanted us to head back out immediately to conduct another mission in the same area. He wanted us to move up the mountainside to a village just above a valley where we were receiving the enemy fire from. He wanted us to engage the local elders and ask them why we were being attacked from the area and to see what kind of information we could get about the enemy fighters in the area. This valley was right across the river from the Hellgal valley. It had been known that this has historically been one of the major routes that has been used that leads to a number of camps in Pakistan. I could hear my Platoon Leader (PL) grasping at straws as we tried to explain that it was still a hot area from the contact and tried to explain that part of the area. He told the commander that we didn t have an interpreter at the time anymore either. Our commander

  • 42. Maslow s Hierarchy Of Needs 1.Identify three personal goals. Now, review Abraham Maslow s hierarchy of needs. Describe Maslow s theory, and explain how your goals either align or do not align with his theory. Provide specific details to demonstrate your knowledge of Maslow s theory. Attempting to explain human motivations Abraham Maslow suggested that there was a hierarchy of needs, according to module 9.2 (n.d.) they are an ascending order from basic survival to more complex needs of self fulfillment (para 17). While Maslow felt that very few people achieved the highest level of self actualization he did suggest that it was a lifelong ongoing process. As an example, in my own life I have already achieved the first step of physiological motivation or needs of the flesh ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... First I will start by stating that I am evolving in my view and beliefs on this matter and I remain open to civilized dialog even if they challenge them. I have no problem with same sex marriages, of course the same standards must be met that apply to all marriages. I do feel the emotional commitment that same sex couples have with each other are as real as my own for my wife. Furthermore, I don t think it is a conscious choice of the individual any more than I chose to be attracted to the opposite sex. These views are supported by what I have experienced and been exposed to rather than what was presented in this lesson. However, the material presented did offer some things for me to ponder. First the books by Dr. Dr. Alfred Kinsey mentioned in module 9.4 (n.d.) did offer some insight that while the books may have been inaccurate they did generate dialog. This behavior is deviant by societal norms and I don t think science will change the emotions surrounding the controversy. Historically supporting argument with the mention of Navajo beliefs on the subject held weight for me, and their belief of masculine and feminine in everyone resonates true. Overall for me even after reading this lesson I have a hard time using it support my beliefs, I feel this more based on
