Green And Social Responsibility For Global Warming
Nowadays, people are becoming increasingly aware of environmental protection. Going green is
a term used to refer to a series of process aimed at embracing an environmental and ecologically
friendly lifestyle while at the same time adhering to legal and social norms aimed at practicing the
environments and natural resources. The adoption of gen strategies by governments and most
industry players is informed by the adverse effects of climate change that continue to increase the
costs of production while at the same time accelerating environmental degradation. Currently, the
world has put more emphasis on going green and embracing socially responsible approaches. The
rising costs of climate change and the debilitating effects of global warming have been the main
reasons for the vibrant state of going green and socially responsibility conventions in the world.
Startling statics about climate change have informed the need to embrace sustainable approaches in
business and governance as a way of mitigation. To justify the vibrant state of going green and
social responsibility in the world today, one has to revisit the grim statics associate with global
warming (Stewart, 2014). Studies have revealed that at least 45 percent of the world s population is
adversely affected by climate change. The effects of this global phenomenon are evenly distributed
across all the continents of the world. From Australia to Texas, droughts are systematically
becoming common environmental phenomena.

College Student Keyboarding
I have worn numerous hats in my lifetime a mother, grandmother, manager, logistics and even a
waitress, but now I am what I call professional student. At present, this latest one is an unpaying
position, at least, does not pay cash but is very rewarding I am a college student. As a college
student, I take this position as my number one job in my life right now. I don t believe I have to
illustrate to most of my classmates what it is like to be a student, but from my prospective going
back to college after you have raised a family is a job I take extremely seriously. I could ask myself
how typingrelates to being a college student.

have strived to improve my keyboarding skills by doing all the exercises assigned to me. I
examined the report and noticed in a 3 minute timed writing, I have achieved a 47 wpm with one
error. I am sure the typing part of the course is based on years of research to achieve this type of
results in such a short period. I had forgotten how to write a correctly spaced business letter. Not
only did I forget the spacing of the letter, I had no idea that someone changed the spacing behind
a period in a sentence to one space. I was never informed before this class the proper spacing for

Health Halo Effect
The article The Fair Trade Effect: Health Halos From Social Ethics by Jonathon P. Schuldt,
Dominique Muller, and Norbert Schwarz claims that there is something called the halo effect,
which is when someone or something has a good first impression and further evaluations are seen
as good on unrelated topics. This effect also applies to foodand is called the healthhalo effect.
Examples of this are when companies put labels on foods like low fat or healthy, this leads to
people thinking that the food product has fewer calories, estimating less calories, and leads to
people ordering higher calorie foods. There is also discussion about whether ethical food claims
like fair trade, organic, and locally produced might influence peoples perception... Show more

The first point in the article is that if there is the word organic or fair trade on the product it
affects how healthy a person perceives the product to be. I agree with this point because I am
one of those people, I am more likely to buy a product if it has organic or fair trade on the label
because I assume it is healthier. When I see this on the label I think low fat or low calories.
However, there are other factors that can influence the likely hood of a person choosing a
product and thinking it is healthy, like emoticons. A person is more likely to avoid a product if
there is a unhappy face emoticon on the label(Vasiljevic et al. 7). The second point is that people
are more likely to think a product has higher calories or lower calories depending on whether a
company treats its employees fairly or not. To me this point depends on how informed the
person is about products and companies. Many people are not really informed about how
companies treat their employees, especially when companies only allow the public to see what
they want us to see. The study was only conducted on people who had strong ethical food values
but what about people who do not have strong ethical food values. That is why labels are so
important it determines if a person perceives the product as unhealthy or healthy, but as discussed
in class even food labels can be

Structure Process And Facility Layout
Forms of Transformation Processes used by Companies and Their Relation to the Facility Layout
Selecting the most appropriate transformation process and facility layout is one of the keys towards
achieving success in the company s performance. In general, there are many forms of
transformation processes, and each has particular facility layout. What is more, there are also
hybrid combinations of them so the organization can choose the one that best fits its needs and
potential.
Speaking of the basic forms of transformation systems, there are five of them including job shop,
continuous process, cellular production, flow shop, and project (Meredith Shafer, 2013). Job
shops are industries that offer a wide range of products and services. They can achieve diversity in
possible outputs using departments functionally specializing in one or other good. The specialty of
this transformation system is that the departments comprise of identical equipment or involve
people with nearly the same set of skills, and the process is carried out on a non stop basis. It also
has a peculiar layout that is based on a historically stable output so that it is rarely changed.
The second type of transformation system is continuous process. Such industries use a set of
materials and equipment and a sequence of processes to produce a final output. Facility layout of
this transformation system is usually a set of needed equipment such as assembly lines, tanks,
pipes, etc., and low skilled employees

The Virtual Reality Simulation Environment For Assembly...
Cloud based IoT interactions to support simulation analysis using VAE (don t change this title, use
it in last section of paper befor examples)
Overview
In this section, we discuss a case study involving use of the Virtual Reality simulation environment
for assembly analysis (VAE?) and GENI resources; the primary emphasis was to compare
suitability of remote collabora tion protocols that can support several engineers from different
locations to analyze the design of micro parts and propose, compare and validate/modify assembly
plans. The GENI resources utilized in this case study included the ProtoGENI aggregate [4], and the
OnTimeMeasure [6] software for instrumentation and measurement.
The potential benefits for allowing a user to collaborate with remote experts while assessing a part
s design by utilizing virtual reality environments and other tools is attractive to both education and
commercial manufacturing segments. Vir tualization and cloud based resources offer affordable
as well as on demand methods for students in K 12 and universities to learn about advanced
manufacturing problems without the need of expensive local resources. Research efforts has
emphasized the emergence of cyber physical frameworks to support assembly of micro devices
[include Lu and Cecil IJAMT paper reference here}. Commercial partners can participate in
collaborative virtual analysis of designs in an on demand and scalable manner using the elastic
resource reservation capabilities

An example may be extra supervisory duties and after a period of consistent competency it
would not be unusual for the specialist to be formally promoted. However given the structure of
modern day organisations, the promotion would often include a set number of managerial
responsibilities, for example a specialist may now be responsible for producing team rotas upon
taking on their new position after demonstrating an acceptable level of competence whilst
informally taking on the their informal role. This can be exemplified in the retail industry more

Function Of Soliloquies In Hamlet
The Functions of Soliloquies in Hamlet. Soliloquies are a powerful writing device that can help a
writer with a large array of different things. Shakespeare uses these speeches in Hamlet quite often
and they became an important functioning feature in the story. Soliloquies helped Shakespeare to
give the readers insight into the emotion of Hamletand Claudius through their narration directly to
the audience. These addresses to the audience fit the role of developing the plot through exposition
of plans via character narrations. The many monologues in Hamlet serve these functions to allow
the story to progress steadily and smoothly. Hamlet s first soliloquy exists in order to give both an
insight into Hamlet s emotional state and a small background on what has happened in the recent
months to put him in that state. Hamlet tells the audience that he feels disgusted with his mother
for marrying Claudius within two months of Hamlet Sr. dying. This monologuealso easily explains
to the audience that Hamlet feels distraught over the loss of his father. Hamlet is just like us... his
mysterious inner life, his roller coaster of emotions...his conflicted feelings about his parents...
(Hamlet). Hamlet s heartache over his father s death and mother s quick wedding causes him to
experience inner struggles throughout the majority of the play. This soliloquy has the role of
keeping the fluidity of the play by using one of the characters in the play to temporarily act as a
narrator

The Friar s Tale Of Geoffrey Chaucer s Canterbury Tales...
Payton Walker Mr. Abel British Lit/comp. 7 November 2016 The Friar s Tale Many pilgrims in
Geoffrey Chaucer s Canterbury Tales held a religious position. Some of these people s personal
ideas have caused debates and criticism over Chaucer s opinion of the Catholic Church. Critics
have discussed the ideas that were presented both subtly and openly. Two of the pilgrims and
their tales will be discussed: the Prioress and the Pardoner. Both of these tales offer points of
criticism in the Catholic Church. The Prioress introduces herself as being like a child who does
not know many words. She is going to try to tell a tale as best as she can. This child like
language can be seen through the whole tale. The Prioress speaks her tale in a fluent, sweet
tone. Her innocence, like a child s, can be seen as she tells her tale. To see the entire criticism of
the Prioress s tale, the General Prologue must first be recounted. The Prioress was described as a
very correct lady; all of her actions showed a very refined lady. She was also portrayed as being
very sympathetic, She wolde wepe, if that she saugh a mous kaught in a trappe, if it were deed or
bledde. (lines 144 146) She was sentimental enough to feed animals the best food she had. Thus,
the Prioress was presented as a very compassionate, well mannered lady. However, in her tale, the
Prioress has an obvious dislike for the Jewish. She relates them to the devil, Our firste foo, the
serpent Sathanas, that hath in Jues herte his

Demetrius And Helena In A Midsummer Night s Dream By...
In A Midsummer Night s Dream, William Shakespeare heavily expresses the distinct characteristics
of Demetrius and Helena through the direct and indirect characterizations that affect them in the
play.
Demetrius character is best emphasized, directly and indirectly, through the dialogue and actions of
himself and those around him. In Act One, Scene One, after Egeus explains to King Theseus that
he wants his daughter, Hermia, to marry Demetrius instead of Lysander, Demetrius demands that
Lysander relinquish his love and control over Hermia because marrying her is his certain right .
After the demand, King Theseus is reminded that Demetrius made love to...Helena and won her soul
and that Helena still devoutly dotes over him. In this scene, ... Show more content on

Helena is first introduced storming past Hermia and Lysander, being quick to accuse Hermia of
stealing Demetrius love from her. Helena s lengthy response, use of exclamations, sarcastic and
whiney tone, and admitted jealousy, portray her perfectly. In fact, the audience better comes to
understand the character in her following monologue containing phrases such as: ...how happy
some o er other some can be! Through Athens I am thought to be as fair as she ; ...he hailed
down oaths that he was only mine... heat from Hermia...dissolved, and showers of oaths did
melt ; I will go tell him of fair Hermia s flight...if I have thanks, it is a dear expense. This shows
that Helena isn t just a jealous friend, but a hurt girl with low self esteem; she is desperate to
have love and happiness again to extent of giving Demetrius what he wants at the expense of
her friends wellbeing. Despite the late hours, dangers of the night, and Demetrius annoyance
with her, Hermia expresses her desperation and relentless love for him by proclaiming ...you
[Demetrius] draw me, you hard hearted adamant , I love you the more , and ... spurn me, strike
me...only give me leave... to follow you . Humorously enough, even when Demetrius does not
grant Helena permission, she still devotedly follows him. Due to the constant flow of insults and
abuses from Demetrius, Helena s character is pushed to the point where she wallows in self pity
and despair as well as further compare her darker, less attractive complexion to Hermia s. When
Lysander awakens under a love spell and professes his undying love for her, she runs away in
distress believing he is implementing a cruel joke on her. When Demetrius follows in the same
love struck manner, she becomes exasperated and falls further into her self pity. Helena s tone even
become satirical towards the two men and Hermia which not only offends

Persuasive Essay On College Sports
Throughout the years, kids have played a variety of video games. These games could range
anywhere from warfare games such as Call of Duty Black Ops, fantasy games such as Final
Fantasy or sports games such as Madden 16 or NCAA Football 11. Games that we played more
consistently than others were the team sports games such as NCAA football. The NCAA football
games not only brought friends together but would also persuade our minds to play football
when we were of age. However, EA has not produced a NCAA football game since 2012. Thus
leaving the people like us who enjoyed the game, let down. The discontinuation of the NCAA

greediness of the athletes, EA will never be able to make another NCAA college football game.
When we were younger, many of us dreamed to grow up and play football for our favorite college

of what we may look like if playing for our favorite college team. Many of us predicted that we
would be six foot two, two hundred and twenty pound athletes who were usually the stars of the
team. As a result of this false hope, many of us worked as hard as we could to make that goal
obtainable. However, EA has not released any college football games and this has resulted in kids
playing other games such as FIFA. In an article it was stated, He wondered how many kids have

Growing a Garden in Death of a Salesman
Growing a Garden
In Death of a Salesman, Arthur Miller uses motifs and symbols to express some of the problems
of the main character, Willy. Miller motivates Willy to start a garden in the backyard of his
apartment, even though the garden won t grow. This showed Willy to be the type who does not
accept defeat, as he believes he can grow a garden, but to the reader, it s obvious that he can t.
Although filled with the desire to grow a garden in order to start anew, Willy is unable to do so
due to his apartment and his thoughts. To start off, Willy s inability to grow a garden is majorly
due to the environment his apartment is placed in. In this story, the apartment is a tool of
symbolism used to develop the idea of the modern world. The apartment that blocks the sun into
his backyard limits Willy s ability to grow a garden. This modern society shadows over his house,
keeping the sun away, also keeping him in the past. This leads to the way the modern world is run,
and because it is different than what Willy can handle, he cannot adapt to modern society. The
modern world restricts Willy from starting anew, but the irony being that not only does Willy not
have the money to move on from his house and into a place where he could grow a garden, he
simply doesn t want to. He wishes to stay, but needs money to pay off the house. His lack of
money is expressed as Linda mentions for him not to forget to ask for a little advance (53). What
Linda is referring to is that Willy

Presentation And Presentation Of Presentations
The way in which presentations are developed is important; presentations can be slideshows,
practical demonstrations, training etc. When developing presentations, you need to ensure that you
prepare; define the purpose and the objective that you want to get across to the audience so you
know what you are aiming for and the research that needs to be undertaken prior to the presentation
to ensure that this is achieved. Knowing what media, format and content is the most appropriate

If the presentation is to be held externally and not within the internal buildings then you would be

When developing a presentation there are many factors that need to be taken into account. When
preparing it is important that you establish a purpose so you can plan what you want to get across to
the audience and set objectives for yourself to work towards; what you intend the outcome to be
from the presentation for example, as that way you can then review yourself on how you feel
you done afterwards from what you achieved. You will need to assess whether or not the
audience of your presentation will need prior knowledge of the topic and depending on who you
are presenting to; how you can win them over with your presentation and what tactics would

will need to ensure that the location of the venue is easily accessible for all attending and the

the size of the venue will affect this. The venue will also need to have the resources required for

Essay about Alexis deTocqueville
Alexis deTocqueville
Alexis de Tocqueville was born in Paris on July 29th, 1805. Growing up in Metz, France, the
youngest child of HervГ© Tocqueville and Mlle. De Rosanbo, he showed great intellectual
promise from his earliest days. By the age of 16, his academic career was a brilliant one, his

of Plato, Plutarch, Machiavelli, Rousseau, and Montesquieu, and it would seem that in these same
years he made a close study of Aristotle, Polybius, and more particularly, the works of Edmund

rise to certain forms of despotism. Without local institutions...the despotic tendencies which have
been driven into the interior of the social body will sooner or later break out on the surface. In the
introductory chapter to Democracy in America, Tocqueville expresses his famous opinion that the
movement of the history of Christendom over the course of the previous 700 years has invariably
been in the direction of democratic equality. This is the foundation of Tocqueville s inevitability
theory. He implies that democracy in inevitable in the same way that the spread of civilization and
enlightenment are inevitable. Best known for his popular critique, Democracy in America, first

Jo March
Jo March said, I ll try and be what he loves to call me, a little woman, and not be rough and wild;
but do my duty here instead of wanting to be somewhere else. Josephine Jo March is the central

Magneto rheological fluid to control of Vibrations and Acoustics
*Sourabh Joshi1, **Piyush Nandwal2
1. Acropolis Technical Campus, Indore (M.P.)
In the case of semi active suspensions with sequential damping, the damping forces are zero or
rather very small as long as the sprung mass is moving away from its static equilibrium position
and suddenly increases when the system is returning to the static equilibrium position. The basic
idea of this semi active control strategy is to balance the elastic force by the damping force in order
to reduce or even to cancel the forces transmitted through the suspension as long as the spring and
elastic forces ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Semi active control systems combine the best features of the passive and active ones. They have
almost the same environmental robustness, mechanical simplicity and low cost as passive devices
and can offer the adaptability of active control systems without requiring the associated large power
sources.
In this paper the effect of semi active suspension with Magneto rheological fluid to control the
damping characteristic of the system and balanced logic on which the system works is presented.
The damping characteristics are controlled by modulation of fluid flow orifices, dry friction forces,
electric or magnetic field applied to electro rheological or magneto rheological fluid dampers. The
balance logic is assumed to be achieved with a variable dry friction damper controlled by the
modulation of the normal force applied on the friction plates. For the models with semi active dual
rate dampers, the value of the equivalent suspension damping coefficient is a function of the
relative velocity of the sprung mass with respect to the wheel subsystem.
Key Words: Transmissibility factor, Magneto rheological fluid, Sequential damping
INTRODUCTION
Isolation of passenger from induced shock and vibration is the important task of the suspension of
any ground vehicle. Most suspensions have passive springs and dampers with rather limited
vibration isolation performance, both for linear and nonlinear restoring or damping characteristics.

Whistleblower protection for employees of publicly traded companies
The statutes enforced by OSHA contain whistleblower or anti retaliation provisions that generally
provide that employers may not discharge or retaliate against an employee because the employee

may be filed orally or in writing, and OSHA will accept the complaint in any language. (United

The Other Woman Analysis
I saw, The Other Woman, written by, David Ives, at the UCM Blackbox Theatre on November 3,
2017. Connor Bosworth directed the show, and did a great job. The story surrounds an author
who is met by his sleepwalking wife. She seems to be a completely different person, and when she
wakes up in the morning she doesn t remember a thing. He writes about his nights with her in his
story, and lies to his wife saying that nothing happened. She seems to know what is going on,
though she never admits it, and becomes depressed. Then a month passes without a sound, until we
re met by her sleeping alter ego once again. The husbandresponds as he normally does, trying
comfort her, then she reveals that she isn t actually sleep walking this time. They get in an
argument, but she starts going back and forth between her sleep walking persona and her awake
one until she ends up in the former, who asks to sleep with his as they had before his awake wife
got depressed, but this time he refuses to give in. Crap, this was supposed to be without spoilers,
my bad.
The reason I practically told the entire story in the last paragraph is because this was by far my
favorite of the one acts. After all, the first element on Aristotle s six elements is plot, and the plot of
this show genuinely intrigued me, which isn t an easy task. It had a balanced mix of mystery and
subtle clues as to what is happening, that I was constantly wondering, and trying to guess, as to
what was going to happen next.

Leisure Time Is An Important Tool Of Social Control
Introduction
Leisure time itself can be defined in many ways. According to Cordes (2003), the meaning of
leisure varies among cultures and that there is little agreement about its meaning and
implications... some see leisure as freedom from work, while others view it as an important tool of
social control or a symbol of one s status . We have all experienced leisure in our lifetime. We have
all taken part in activities we deem fun, exciting, or relaxing. The purpose of reflecting upon the
various ways we spend our free time is to provide reflection upon our lives. Free time is valued,
and by reflecting upon what we do with our time can help us find insight on whether or not our
free time is spent wisely. As I reflect upon my life experience in relation to Nash s Paradigm of
Free Time, I hope to gain more insight on how I have been spending my free time. I expect to
reflect upon the less productive times and make a change on how to spend my free time better.
Injury to Society Injury to society includes delinquency and crime. When I was in high school,
around 15 or 16 years old, I used to shoplift things from the store. While I did do these things out
of boredom, I had mostly stolen things for the monetary value. My leisure time was spent mostly
at the mall, with other friends who would steal as well. Eventually I did get caught, and fortunately
I was let off with just a warning. After that, I never stole again. The effect of me stealing as a teen

Relations between women in the 18th and 19th centuries.
Theme: Relations between women in the 18th and 19th centuries.
Thesis: Relationships between women in the nineteenth century America created a web of love and
support for women. Mothers and daughters, sisters and friends from childhood formed emotional
and sometimes physical bonds that lasted lifetimes. These ties were acknowledged and easily
accepted in their societies.
Many women survived unthinkable hardships such as geographical isolation, child birth, and loss
of children because of the unconditional love found in their relations with other women.

that the researchers identified (p.3) form the next part of my critique. The themes which were
found through analysis of the data compare to other researchers who find that gifted children in
particular suffer from various social vulnerabilities as a result of their special needs (Porter,
1999; Lovecky 1992; Schuler 2003). What strikes me about some of the data is the bias which
comes across from Andrew s reflections. He states, They uprooted me and put me in a
classroom because of my behaviour instead of trying to deal with the behaviour in the classroom
(p.3). The researchers analyse this as being the participant s anger and frustration towards his
labelled disabilities. He then goes on to describe, I don t remember a single thing that we did in
there that I considered as being educational (p.3). Were these statements an actuality of what he
would have stated at the time in question, or were they the result of his ability to reflect from a
teacher s perspective? Nevertheless the statements he makes, which are often quite controversial
e.g. We did not learn about math or science that I recall (p.3), do seem to be conducive to the type
of evidence that the researchers may have required to

Hester Prynne In The Scarlet Letter
Hester Prynne is a character who relies on her inner strength as she transforms from an
impetuous, shameful sinner to a stoic woman. She is a character in The Scarlet Letter written by
Nathaniel Hawthorne. Hester Prynne is a woman who was condemned by a Puritan town for
being an adulterer. This conclusion is evident because she became pregnant while her husband
was lost at sea . Hester s conviction is openly displayed by a scarlet letter on her chest. She is
immediately isolated once released, and she begins her transition into her new self. A key factor in
the character development of Hester Prynneis the shame she experienced. She sought love in
someone other than her husband, who was thought to be dead, and she was openly punished for
her sins. After released she remained encumbered in her punishment. She remained in town, and
lived a plain life. Her guilt left her stuck in a constant state of restriction. She used her immense
skill of needlework for the poor, and an occasional extravagance. However her personal shame was
not transferred to her daughter, Pearl. The difference in clothing shows that Hester considers herself
shameful and not worthy of a decadent lifestyle, but her daughter is deserving of a distinguished
lifestyle.

The Ethics Of The Lifeguard Safety
Introduction:
Since the beginning of time, death by drowning has taken millions of lives and thousands of live
each year. Society has made incredible strides when it comes to preventing such a death but in
order to save one human from drowning another human must put his life in danger. Lifeguards have
saved countless lives with safety equipment and on sight help however lifeguards have also been
too late to prevent these horrific occurrences. In the year 2016, there is hope on the horizon, drone
lifeguards. This will revolutionize, not only beaches but also any areas that are potentially
hazardous for humans. Other previous methods of lifeguard safety was a physically fit human who
was certified to save another human in the and a floatation device, also some lifeguards used jet
skis of other forms of quick transportation in water to save surfers or body boarders. These have
been proven to be affect yet it is still putting a safe individual is a dangerous situation to save a
human who is in danger. There is an act of chivalry and honor in this way of lifeguarding but if
drones can save even more lives than pervious methods then it could change the world as well as
saving a lot of people and their families from the pain of losing a loved one. The idea of using
drones has a safety device poses a few questions. What is a drone? What are the mechanics in a

Hunt Descriptive Writing
Waking up before the rising sun on the morning of the hunt left me feeling groggy with my eyes
slow to open and close when blinking. Being extra quiet to not wake up my mother was a main
challenge, trying to tippy toe around the cabin and dodging the creaky spots in the floor. Prior to

weather was bone chilling and the wind would seep right through your layers onto your
unexpecting skin. Once I had put on my long johns, sweatpants, and long sleeve shirt with a tee

pepper sprinkled throughout and toast with butter melted onto the crunchy outside making it

hunting pants came next followed by my wool socks and winter hunting boots. Next I checked

The Metaphysics Of Morals By Immanuel Kant
In The Metaphysics of Morals, Section I focuses on the process of instilling the concept of virtue
into those who have not yet developed their own sense of pure practical reason. The author insists
that this should be done methodically and through a system of dialogue. Through a series of
questions and answers between a pupil and his instructor.
In Section I of The Metaphysics of Morals, Immanuel Kant states that moral catechism needs to
precede any religious catechisms. Kant goes on to say that professions of religion cannot be made
until a mature moral conscience exists as it can make religion impure. I disagree with this
sentiment, as I believe that my own moral conscience is based on Christian beliefs, and not the

Two aspects that can be difficult for people to control of are education and personal responsibility.
It is always easier to shift blame when things do not go as planned, such as failing a quiz, or
turning in an assignment late. Those who shift blame have an external locus of control, meaning
they blame others instead of taking responsibility for their actions. Sisney et al., (2000) reported
that students having an external locus of control correlated to lower academic achievement and
higher dropout rates. High school dropouts exhibited more external control and were less likely
to stay in school because they feel that their destiny is out of their hands. If you make a mistake
you should own it, and never shift the blame, always plan to be honest in everything you say and
do. The most important reason if I hold myself accountable for my actions I am more likely to
move toward my goals is that by using time management strategies, planning, and goal setting I
am ensuring my college success. By using time management strategies, the student must figure
out how to use time wisely and organize tasks that need to be completed. I could even choose to
complete tasks early so I would not get the overwhelmed feeling when the deadline arrives. Being
more dedicated to the task at hand as well as my classmates and instructors would help me

Genetically Modified Food in Canada Essay
A trip to any supermarket in Canada will reveal nothing out of ordinary, just the usual of array of
fresh and packaged goods displayed in an inviting manner to attract customers. Everything appear
familiar and reassuring, right? Think again. A closer microscopic inspection discloses something
novel, a fundamental revolution in food technology. The technology is genetic engineering(GE),
also known as biotechnology. Blue prints (DNA) of agricultural crops are altered and spliced with
foreign genes to produce transgenic crops. Foods harvested from these agricultural plants are
called, genetically modified (GM). Presently, Canada has no consumer notification; GM foods are
being slipped to Canada s foods without any labels or adequate risk... Show more content on

There is an abundance of GM foods varieties in Canadian market: assortments of corns, soybeans,
canola, potatoes and tomatoes. In addition about sixty percent of processed foods are laced with
GM materials [2].
The driving factor behind plant biotechnology is social constructionism , in which social values and
institutional domains and their culture shape technology [Goyder chapter 10]. Bioengineering
companies might declare social needs as the motive behind pursuing this technology. In reality,
these capitalist institutions possess the much needed economic surplus to invest serve their own
desires. The social needs they intend to solve are: world food shortage, increase agricultural
productivity, help the environment by eliminating pesticides, improve nutrition of foods.
Opponents of biotechnology, scientists, consumer advocates, environmental protection agencies, do
not buy this claim. According to them, these reasons are just the pretence to fulfil ...capitalist s
profit making via the deployment of technology, [3 Goyder chapter 5]. Most crop developments so
far has been profit driven rather than need driven [4, ten reasons why biotechnology will not ensure
food security]. In a capitalistic society, patent laws under constitution permits ownership of seeds,

The Flat Earth Theory
Advancements in communication via channels such as the internet have allowed for many false
scientific theories to become increasingly popular in today s society. These theories have become
widespread and intertwined with common beliefs to the point where many of them are now
synonymous with actual theories. The flat earth theory is a claim that suggests the earth isn t a
three dimensional sphere, but instead a flat, two dimensional circle (Flat Earth). The theory of plate
tectonicsoutlines how continental drift occurs as a result of the lithosphere consisting of plates that
are able to move along on top of the asthenosphere as well as what occurs in the mantle to cause the
formation of these plates (Van Andel and Murphy, 1). Pseudoscientific

When plate tectonic theory was first conceived with the continental drift theory in 1919, there
was some controversy regarding the evidence found and the theory was not accepted. Many
distinguished scientists including Harold Jeffreys believed that the new theory was false and
refused to lend it support. However, evidence had been found by the 1960 s that showed oceanic
crust is magnetic and could therefore confirm seafloor spreading, and continental drift
(Richardson). On the other hand, the Bedford Level Experiment can be used to show the
limitations of the flat earth theory again, as it showed that proponents of the theory refused to
believe that it was incorrect. Instead of trying to reconfirm this data through proper research or
conducting a similar experiment somewhere else in the world, believers of a flat earth denied the
unsupportive evidence and clung to the few supportive points they had (Richardson). By being
critical of one s own theory and actively searching for both supportive and unsupportive evidence,
scientific theories can be strengthened and advanced. Oppositely, theories of pseudoscience are
forgotten and become irrelevant as time goes on because of the search for selective evidence and
minimal effort in trying to disprove them. This characteristic allows legitimate scientific theories to
be easily identified

The Portrayal Of Zombies In Popular Culture
Over the past few years, there has been a new craze over the undead , zombies. Like all monsters,
zombies have become a thing no longer just feared and instead obsessed over. Now, they can be
found on posters, movies, and even t shirts for not only adults, but also children. This zombie
sensation wiping the country has a varying portrayal. No two zombiemovies are exactly the same,
but many themes can be found similar in all of them. Supposedly apocalyptic, zombies are
generally destructive and devilish. If this is true, why are they becoming so popular and is today s
culture portraying zombies correctly? Zombies, generally, are any human beings that are mindless,
show now emotion, and are driven to a specific motive. Being this way,... Show more content on

Maybe our entire perspective of what zombies are is actually wrong. From my knowledge,
zombies that are feared to bring the apocalypse are actually living beside us today. People in
today s society have become enslaved by many things, especially by their own desires. Like
zombies, they live day by day, emotionless and persistent. They do the same thing, the same way,
365 days a year. In my opinion, zombies are not only the dead who are living, but also the living
who are dead. Zombies in real life aren t cannibalistic, but in the process of getting what they
want, they may cause destruction. The destruction can occur because, like zombies, living
zombies will also do whatever it takes to fulfill their desires. I believe that zombies shouldn t be
feared or believed to cause an apocalypse. If anything, we, living zombies, will be the ones to
cause the apocalypse when we go brother against brother to fulfill our own selfish

Proper Casting
northernorthotics.com.au Proper Casting and Bracing for Full Rehabilitation and Healing
When an injury occurs to bones, muscles, ligaments or even cartilages, it often requires proper
casting and bracing with or without surgery for full rehabilitation and healing of the damaged
area. A number of different devices are available today to ensure that each body part receives the
correct support, so it can soon return to normal functioning. The casting or bracing method that is
effective for you will depend upon how severe the injury is and where it is in your body.
What Casting or Bracing Accomplishes With Injuries
The appropriate braces or casts will immobilise the injury fully or partially to allow the muscles,
bones, cartilages, tendons or ligaments to heal sufficient to regain normal functioning. At times,
these orthotic devices also offer additional support to the area of a body that has been weakened by

Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar Vs. Plutarch’s Julius Caesar
He doth bestride the narrow world like a colossus пїЅ(Julius Caesar 1.2.142 43).
These words were spoken by Cassius, a character in Shakespeare s play Julius Caesar.
He is speaking about Julius Caesar and Caesar s arrogance and overconfidence. This quote also
shows how Shakespeare perceived Julius Caesar as a prominent and influential man of his time.
However, this view is not shared by all of the biographers that chose to write about Julius Caesar.
In fact a famous ancient writer named Plutarch depicted Julius Caesar as a power hungry and
arrogant man in his biography The Life of Caesar. Plutarch was one of the world s first modern
biographers and his work is still used today. Even Shakespeare used him as a historical reference in

On the other hand, in Plutarch s The Life of Caesar Caesar receives word that his friend, Brutus,
is leading a group that is plotting to kill him. And once, when the conspiracy was already formed
and some people were actually accusing Brutus to Caesar of being involved in it, Caesar laid his
hand on his body and said to the accusers: ЛњBrutus will wait for this skin of mine пїЅ(The Life of
Caesar 233). What Caesar meant was that he knew Brutus would never do such a thing because he
was not Лњbase and ungrateful. So once again Caesar shrugs of the warning and this is his fatal
mistake.
The major difference between these two biographies is the different versions of Caesar s
assassination. In Shakespeare s play Caesar s assassination is described in a total of 2 lines. Лњ
Speak, hands, for me! / [As Casca strikes, the others rise up and stab Caesar.]/ ЛњEt tu, Brute?
Then fall, Caesar. / [He dies] пїЅ(Julius Caesar 3.1.84 85).
Shakespeare makes Caesar seem to die nobly with time to utter a few famous last words.
Whereas Plutarch s version of Caesar s death goes into more detail. In this version, Caesar grabbed
Casca s dagger when Casca stabbed him in the neck and said, Лњ Casca, you villain, what are you
doing? пїЅ(The Life of Caesar 236). Caesar was then surrounded by the conspirators and was
driven this way and that, and like a wild beast in the toils, had to suffer from the hands of each one

Essay about Consumer Appeal
Consumer Appeal
Advertisers of today have strategically combined commercials and television shows in order to sell
products. Gloria Steinem discusses a similar idea in her article, quot;Sex, Lies, and Advertising.
quot; She repeatedly demonstrates how advertisements, particularly in magazines, are
complementary to the articles around them. In the same manner, so are commercials to television
programs.
They are both aimed at the same groups or types of people, such as sex, age, gender, etc.
Many times, the time of day or day of the week a show is aired has a lot to do with the types of
viewers the program will attract. Thus, the types of commercials will also differ. On... Show more

This leaves a majority of the older crowds watching the program.
According to Gloria Steinem, the target of the television show will be the same as that of the
commercials. This proved to be true with quot;Profiler quot; and its commercials. There were a
total of twenty commercials aired. They included and Allstate Insurance ad, a number of car dealers
and promotions, chewing gum, beauty products, medicine, food, and television satellites. Most of
them had female voice overs with predominantly white actors and/or actresses. The actors and/or
actresses were also good looking, thin, and of high to medium status.
In Steinem s terms, and as mentioned by Cayo Gamber, an advertisement is generally linked to
the article, or in this case, the program. The show is seen as a quot;complementary copy quot; for
the commercials; because it included certain accessories to a person in the same life style as the
characters in the program.
The cars advertisements, in particular, were at times found in the show.
However, the other products weren t really enforced by the program. Above all, the program did
help maintain the intended target interested and tuned in to that specific channel.
The benefit of airing commercials at that specific time of

Melody Of Love Analysis
The theme I chose is love, and I chose the early 1900s as a time period to focus on. I believe that
this is a topic worth exploring in humanities because everybody can relate to it, and people tend
to create impactful art, music, etc., in the name of love. Love can have a huge impact and play
an essential and influential role in a person s life. The reason why I chose this specific time
period is because I believe that it was a great time of romanticism. It was the beginning of a time
where people took different approaches to showcase their thoughts and feelings, especially through
art and music. The time period was also more modern, so many of the works involving loveare
relatable to people today. Melody of Love Composed by Hans Engelmann
Hans Engelmann lived from 1872 to 1914. He was a German composer who traveled to
Pennsylvania to pursue his dreams of becoming a professional pianist, as he was dissatisfied
with his life working in a mercantile office. Not much is remembered about him today, but his
music was very popular and appreciated during his time. Other songs composed by him include
Poppy Buds, Heart s Melody, Spanish Serenade, and many others. Our focus, Melody of Love,
was composed in 1903 and was meant to be played on the piano. The cultural context of the song
greatly reflects Engelmann s German upbringing, where it is customary for young boys to go
through musical training at the time. The song was very popular at the time, and

Transcendentalism In Emerson And Thoreau
Why follow societal views? Ralph Waldo Emerson s, Self Reliance , and Henry David Thoreau
s, Where I Lived and What I Lived For , are both texts that influence the idea of transcendentalism
which influences the way people think about society s actions and how self reliance. Emerson s
text goes in depth about relying on oneself instead of the use of inventions that rid of bodily
functions. While Thoreau s text also goes in depth about one s life and how time should be
determined by the individual and not the clock of society. Being away and being different from
society, individualism, are explained by Emerson and Thoreau through their use of description;
however, Thoreau in addition to description uses compare and contrast and problem and solution
all to show that individuality is a part of life that is missing from modern day society. Emerson
and Thoreau s main source of similarity between individuality comes from their use of
description. Emerson and Thoreau use description in multiple places to develop their ideas. Two
particular places where it stands out is in paragraph three when Emerson states, Whoso would be a
man must be a nonconformist , and in paragraph three of Thoreau s text It matters not what the
clocks say or the attitudes and labors of men . The correlation between the quotes and individuality
is that one must not be like the rest to be a man and that one should not live on the same items as
the rest of mankind. The use of description in Emerson s quote

Ethical Dilemmas In Nursing Essay
A2 In the scenario, the physician s action violated the principles of non maleficence, beneficence
and autonomy. First off, the principle of non maleficence is violated as physicians should strive
not to harm patients. For case A2, the doctor allowed the patient s serious condition to worsen
while knowing that the disease is treatable, only for the sake of observing how the disease
progresses. The doctor blatantly places the patient in harm simply to fulfil his own curiosity and
research progress, rendering his actions considered to be violating the principles of non
maleficence. Second, the doctor also violated the principle of beneficence. As a doctor, we should

To start off, the doctor has violated the principle of autonomy as he ignored the woman s wishes
which are fully supported by her family. Having a sound mind and the ability to make decisions,
the patient should have her will respected by doctors. In the case, despite the fact that the patient
s family verbally told the doctor about the patient s will to go home, her decision is not
respected by the doctor, who kept her hospitalised until she dies. Autonomy means that the key
decisions of a person s life should be determined by the patient herself if possible. Given that in
the case, the patient is already terminally ill and in the end stage of life, her will to go home
should be respected by the doctor, rendering the doctor s action a violation of the principle of
autonomy. Second, the principle of beneficence is also violated. Beneficence means doing what is
beneficial to the patient. This, however, is not only limited to the promotion of good health, but
also doing what the patient judges to be beneficial. In the case, the patient deems that going home
and die in her own bed, surrounded by her family is more beneficial to her than having a few more
weeks to live. The doctor, therefore, should do what is considered best by the patient in this

Current Services And Programs For Suicide Prevention Program
Current Services and Programs As a social worker, I know that my clients are coming to me in a
time in their lives where they need help, and some these clients are affected by suicide.
Therefore, I must be aware of the current programs and service being utilized in the field of
practice to prevent suicide. In this section, I will be identifying current services and programs
aimed at preventing suicide among military service members and veterans. Additionally, I will
address the effectiveness of these programs and services, what research has been conducted to

The suicide prevention program is driven and maintained by military leaders (i.e. officers and non
commissioned officers) and military social workers who actively support/contribute to the entire
program and the initiatives within the community. Military leaders ensure that every service
member receives annual suicide prevention training through PME conducted by military leaders.
Additionally, the military has issued guidelines (which are military policies) for how commanders
can reduce the stigma of mental health services by creating a positive culture climate. Commanders
use the Commanders Consultation Assessment Tool, to gain insight into unit strengths and areas of
vulnerability, as well as, creating a positive climate culture. This tool also teaches service members
to recognize the signs and symptoms of distress in themselves and others and to take protective
action and encourage others to do the same. The goal he is to foster a culture of early help seeking,

Examples Of Mixed Race In Chesnutt
In the novel, Chesnutt uses mixed race characters, which have both black and white ancestors
and these characters display the conflicts between black and white societies. Within the novel,
Janet Miller is the best example of a mixed race character. Janet s father was from the white
aristocracy, while her mother was a slave and a servant. Janet is emotionally hurt because she
doesn t receive the same affection like white half sister. She views herself as black and submits
to the segregation of the time. In comparison to societal views, Olivia Carteret also cannot view
her sister as an equal which is incredibly sad. Janet s angry compassion for her white sister sets the
novel s climax and represents hope for equality between the races. The Millers are well educated
and were brought up in the white world where they exclude themselves from the poor and
uneducated members within the society. However, the whites within society do not welcome them
due to their racebecause they think that Africans lack sense of purity. When exploring the
complexity of mixed races in the South Chesnutt describes, looking at these two men with the
American eye, the differences would perhaps be the more striking, or at least the more
immediately apparent, for the first was white and the second black, or, more correctly speaking,
brown...but both his swarthy complexion and his curly hair revealed what has been described in
the laws of some of our states as a visible admixture of African blood

  • 2. Green And Social Responsibility For Global Warming Nowadays, people are becoming increasingly aware of environmental protection. Going green is a term used to refer to a series of process aimed at embracing an environmental and ecologically friendly lifestyle while at the same time adhering to legal and social norms aimed at practicing the environments and natural resources. The adoption of gen strategies by governments and most industry players is informed by the adverse effects of climate change that continue to increase the costs of production while at the same time accelerating environmental degradation. Currently, the world has put more emphasis on going green and embracing socially responsible approaches. The rising costs of climate change and the debilitating effects of global warming have been the main reasons for the vibrant state of going green and socially responsibility conventions in the world. Startling statics about climate change have informed the need to embrace sustainable approaches in business and governance as a way of mitigation. To justify the vibrant state of going green and social responsibility in the world today, one has to revisit the grim statics associate with global warming (Stewart, 2014). Studies have revealed that at least 45 percent of the world s population is adversely affected by climate change. The effects of this global phenomenon are evenly distributed across all the continents of the world. From Australia to Texas, droughts are systematically becoming common environmental phenomena. ... At present, this latest one is an unpaying position, at least, does not pay cash but is very rewarding I am a college student. As a college student, I take this position as my number one job in my life right now. I don t believe I have to illustrate to most of my classmates what it is like to be a student, but from my prospective going back to college after you have raised a family is a job I take extremely seriously. I could ask myself how typingrelates to being a college student. 2 I want to clearly state I did not take a typing course, it is keyboarding! A clear difference in keyboarding ... I examined the report and noticed in a 3 minute timed writing, I have achieved a 47 wpm with one error. I am sure the typing part of the course is based on years of research to achieve this type of results in such a short period. I had forgotten how to write a correctly spaced business letter. • 4. Health Halo Effect The article The Fair Trade Effect: Health Halos From Social Ethics by Jonathon P. Schuldt, Dominique Muller, and Norbert Schwarz claims that there is something called the halo effect, which is when someone or something has a good first impression and further evaluations are seen as good on unrelated topics. This effect also applies to foodand is called the healthhalo effect. Examples of this are when companies put labels on foods like low fat or healthy, this leads to people thinking that the food product has fewer calories, estimating less calories, and leads to people ordering higher calorie foods. There is also discussion about whether ethical food claims like fair trade, organic, and locally produced might influence peoples perception... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first point in the article is that if there is the word organic or fair trade on the product it affects how healthy a person perceives the product to be. I agree with this point because I am one of those people, I am more likely to buy a product if it has organic or fair trade on the label because I assume it is healthier. When I see this on the label I think low fat or low calories. However, there are other factors that can influence the likely hood of a person choosing a product and thinking it is healthy, like emoticons. A person is more likely to avoid a product if there is a unhappy face emoticon on the label(Vasiljevic et al. 7). The second point is that people are more likely to think a product has higher calories or lower calories depending on whether a company treats its employees fairly or not. To me this point depends on how informed the person is about products and companies. Many people are not really informed about how companies treat their employees, especially when companies only allow the public to see what they want us to see. The study was only conducted on people who had strong ethical food values but what about people who do not have strong ethical food values. That is why labels are so important it determines if a person perceives the product as unhealthy or healthy, but as discussed in class even food labels can be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Structure Process And Facility Layout Forms of Transformation Processes used by Companies and Their Relation to the Facility Layout Selecting the most appropriate transformation process and facility layout is one of the keys towards achieving success in the company s performance. In general, there are many forms of transformation processes, and each has particular facility layout. What is more, there are also hybrid combinations of them so the organization can choose the one that best fits its needs and potential. Speaking of the basic forms of transformation systems, there are five of them including job shop, continuous process, cellular production, flow shop, and project (Meredith Shafer, 2013). Job shops are industries that offer a wide range of products and services. They can achieve diversity in possible outputs using departments functionally specializing in one or other good. The specialty of this transformation system is that the departments comprise of identical equipment or involve people with nearly the same set of skills, and the process is carried out on a non stop basis. It also has a peculiar layout that is based on a historically stable output so that it is rarely changed. The second type of transformation system is continuous process. Such industries use a set of materials and equipment and a sequence of processes to produce a final output. Facility layout of this transformation system is usually a set of needed equipment such as assembly lines, tanks, pipes, etc., and low skilled employees ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. The Virtual Reality Simulation Environment For Assembly... Cloud based IoT interactions to support simulation analysis using VAE (don t change this title, use it in last section of paper befor examples) Overview In this section, we discuss a case study involving use of the Virtual Reality simulation environment for assembly analysis (VAE?) and GENI resources; the primary emphasis was to compare suitability of remote collabora tion protocols that can support several engineers from different locations to analyze the design of micro parts and propose, compare and validate/modify assembly plans. The GENI resources utilized in this case study included the ProtoGENI aggregate [4], and the OnTimeMeasure [6] software for instrumentation and measurement. The potential benefits for allowing a user to collaborate with remote experts while assessing a part s design by utilizing virtual reality environments and other tools is attractive to both education and commercial manufacturing segments. Vir tualization and cloud based resources offer affordable as well as on demand methods for students in K 12 and universities to learn about advanced manufacturing problems without the need of expensive local resources. Research efforts has emphasized the emergence of cyber physical frameworks to support assembly of micro devices [include Lu and Cecil IJAMT paper reference here}. • 10. Function Of Soliloquies In Hamlet The Functions of Soliloquies in Hamlet. Soliloquies are a powerful writing device that can help a writer with a large array of different things. Shakespeare uses these speeches in Hamlet quite often and they became an important functioning feature in the story. Soliloquies helped Shakespeare to give the readers insight into the emotion of Hamletand Claudius through their narration directly to the audience. These addresses to the audience fit the role of developing the plot through exposition of plans via character narrations. The many monologues in Hamlet serve these functions to allow the story to progress steadily and smoothly. Hamlet s first soliloquy exists in order to give both an insight into Hamlet s emotional state and a small background on what has happened in the recent months to put him in that state. Hamlet tells the audience that he feels disgusted with his mother for marrying Claudius within two months of Hamlet Sr. dying. This monologuealso easily explains to the audience that Hamlet feels distraught over the loss of his father. Hamlet is just like us... his mysterious inner life, his roller coaster of emotions...his conflicted feelings about his parents... (Hamlet). Hamlet s heartache over his father s death and mother s quick wedding causes him to experience inner struggles throughout the majority of the play. This soliloquy has the role of keeping the fluidity of the play by using one of the characters in the play to temporarily act as a narrator ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. The Friar s Tale Of Geoffrey Chaucer s Canterbury Tales... Payton Walker Mr. Abel British Lit/comp. 7 November 2016 The Friar s Tale Many pilgrims in Geoffrey Chaucer s Canterbury Tales held a religious position. Some of these people s personal ideas have caused debates and criticism over Chaucer s opinion of the Catholic Church. Critics have discussed the ideas that were presented both subtly and openly. Two of the pilgrims and their tales will be discussed: the Prioress and the Pardoner. Both of these tales offer points of criticism in the Catholic Church. The Prioress introduces herself as being like a child who does not know many words. She is going to try to tell a tale as best as she can. This child like language can be seen through the whole tale. The Prioress speaks her tale in a fluent, sweet tone. Her innocence, like a child s, can be seen as she tells her tale. To see the entire criticism of the Prioress s tale, the General Prologue must first be recounted. The Prioress was described as a very correct lady; all of her actions showed a very refined lady. She was also portrayed as being very sympathetic, She wolde wepe, if that she saugh a mous kaught in a trappe, if it were deed or bledde. (lines 144 146) She was sentimental enough to feed animals the best food she had. Thus, the Prioress was presented as a very compassionate, well mannered lady. However, in her tale, the Prioress has an obvious dislike for the Jewish. She relates them to the devil, Our firste foo, the serpent Sathanas, that hath in Jues herte his ... • 14. Demetrius And Helena In A Midsummer Night s Dream By... In A Midsummer Night s Dream, William Shakespeare heavily expresses the distinct characteristics of Demetrius and Helena through the direct and indirect characterizations that affect them in the play. Demetrius character is best emphasized, directly and indirectly, through the dialogue and actions of himself and those around him. In Act One, Scene One, after Egeus explains to King Theseus that he wants his daughter, Hermia, to marry Demetrius instead of Lysander, Demetrius demands that Lysander relinquish his love and control over Hermia because marrying her is his certain right . After the demand, King Theseus is reminded that Demetrius made love to...Helena and won her soul and that Helena still devoutly dotes over him. In this scene, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Helena is first introduced storming past Hermia and Lysander, being quick to accuse Hermia of stealing Demetrius love from her. Helena s lengthy response, use of exclamations, sarcastic and whiney tone, and admitted jealousy, portray her perfectly. In fact, the audience better comes to understand the character in her following monologue containing phrases such as: ...how happy some o er other some can be! Through Athens I am thought to be as fair as she ; ...he hailed down oaths that he was only mine... heat from Hermia...dissolved, and showers of oaths did melt ; I will go tell him of fair Hermia s flight...if I have thanks, it is a dear expense. This shows that Helena isn t just a jealous friend, but a hurt girl with low self esteem; she is desperate to have love and happiness again to extent of giving Demetrius what he wants at the expense of her friends wellbeing. Despite the late hours, dangers of the night, and Demetrius annoyance with her, Hermia expresses her desperation and relentless love for him by proclaiming ...you [Demetrius] draw me, you hard hearted adamant , I love you the more , and ... spurn me, strike me...only give me leave... to follow you . Humorously enough, even when Demetrius does not grant Helena permission, she still devotedly follows him. Due to the constant flow of insults and abuses from Demetrius, Helena s character is pushed to the point where she wallows in self pity and despair as well as further compare her darker, less attractive complexion to Hermia s. When Lysander awakens under a love spell and professes his undying love for her, she runs away in distress believing he is implementing a cruel joke on her. When Demetrius follows in the same love struck manner, she becomes exasperated and falls further into her self pity. Helena s tone even become satirical towards the two men and Hermia which not only offends ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These games could range anywhere from warfare games such as Call of Duty Black Ops, fantasy games such as Final Fantasy or sports games such as Madden 16 or NCAA Football 11. Games that we played more consistently than others were the team sports games such as NCAA football. The NCAA football games not only brought friends together but would also persuade our minds to play football when we were of age. However, EA has not produced a NCAA football game since 2012. Thus leaving the people like us who enjoyed the game, let down. The discontinuation of the NCAA college footballseries is a result of many things, specifically greed. Unfortunately, with the greediness of the athletes, EA will never be able to make another NCAA college football game. When we were younger, many of us dreamed to grow up and play football for our favorite college team. Therefore, when we played the NCAA football games, we were able to create a prediction of what we may look like if playing for our favorite college team. Many of us predicted that we would be six foot two, two hundred and twenty pound athletes who were usually the stars of the team. As a result of this false hope, many of us worked as hard as we could to make that goal obtainable. However, EA has not released any college football games and this has resulted in kids playing other games such as FIFA. In an article it was stated, He wondered how many kids have started ... • 20. Growing a Garden in Death of a Salesman Growing a Garden In Death of a Salesman, Arthur Miller uses motifs and symbols to express some of the problems of the main character, Willy. Miller motivates Willy to start a garden in the backyard of his apartment, even though the garden won t grow. This showed Willy to be the type who does not accept defeat, as he believes he can grow a garden, but to the reader, it s obvious that he can t. Although filled with the desire to grow a garden in order to start anew, Willy is unable to do so due to his apartment and his thoughts. To start off, Willy s inability to grow a garden is majorly due to the environment his apartment is placed in. In this story, the apartment is a tool of symbolism used to develop the idea of the modern world. The apartment that blocks the sun into his backyard limits Willy s ability to grow a garden. This modern society shadows over his house, keeping the sun away, also keeping him in the past. This leads to the way the modern world is run, and because it is different than what Willy can handle, he cannot adapt to modern society. The modern world restricts Willy from starting anew, but the irony being that not only does Willy not have the money to move on from his house and into a place where he could grow a garden, he simply doesn t want to. He wishes to stay, but needs money to pay off the house. His lack of money is expressed as Linda mentions for him not to forget to ask for a little advance (53). Acropolis Technical Campus, Indore (M.P.) In the case of semi active suspensions with sequential damping, the damping forces are zero or rather very small as long as the sprung mass is moving away from its static equilibrium position and suddenly increases when the system is returning to the static equilibrium position. The basic idea of this semi active control strategy is to balance the elastic force by the damping force in order to reduce or even to cancel the forces transmitted through the suspension as long as the spring and elastic forces ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Semi active control systems combine the best features of the passive and active ones. They have almost the same environmental robustness, mechanical simplicity and low cost as passive devices and can offer the adaptability of active control systems without requiring the associated large power sources. In this paper the effect of semi active suspension with Magneto rheological fluid to control the damping characteristic of the system and balanced logic on which the system works is presented. The damping characteristics are controlled by modulation of fluid flow orifices, dry friction forces, electric or magnetic field applied to electro rheological or magneto rheological fluid dampers. The balance logic is assumed to be achieved with a variable dry friction damper controlled by the modulation of the normal force applied on the friction plates. For the models with semi active dual rate dampers, the value of the equivalent suspension damping coefficient is a function of the relative velocity of the sprung mass with respect to the wheel subsystem. Key Words: Transmissibility factor, Magneto rheological fluid, Sequential damping INTRODUCTION Isolation of passenger from induced shock and vibration is the important task of the suspension of any ground vehicle. The story surrounds an author who is met by his sleepwalking wife. She seems to be a completely different person, and when she wakes up in the morning she doesn t remember a thing. He writes about his nights with her in his story, and lies to his wife saying that nothing happened. She seems to know what is going on, though she never admits it, and becomes depressed. Then a month passes without a sound, until we re met by her sleeping alter ego once again. The husbandresponds as he normally does, trying comfort her, then she reveals that she isn t actually sleep walking this time. They get in an argument, but she starts going back and forth between her sleep walking persona and her awake one until she ends up in the former, who asks to sleep with his as they had before his awake wife got depressed, but this time he refuses to give in. According to Cordes (2003), the meaning of leisure varies among cultures and that there is little agreement about its meaning and implications... some see leisure as freedom from work, while others view it as an important tool of social control or a symbol of one s status . We have all experienced leisure in our lifetime. We have all taken part in activities we deem fun, exciting, or relaxing. The purpose of reflecting upon the various ways we spend our free time is to provide reflection upon our lives. Free time is valued, and by reflecting upon what we do with our time can help us find insight on whether or not our free time is spent wisely. As I reflect upon my life experience in relation to Nash s Paradigm of Free Time, I hope to gain more insight on how I have been spending my free time. She is a character in The Scarlet Letter written by Nathaniel Hawthorne. Hester Prynne is a woman who was condemned by a Puritan town for being an adulterer. This conclusion is evident because she became pregnant while her husband was lost at sea . Hester s conviction is openly displayed by a scarlet letter on her chest. She is immediately isolated once released, and she begins her transition into her new self. A key factor in the character development of Hester Prynneis the shame she experienced. She sought love in someone other than her husband, who was thought to be dead, and she was openly punished for her sins. After released she remained encumbered in her punishment. She remained in town, and lived a plain life. Her guilt left her stuck in a constant state of restriction. She used her immense skill of needlework for the poor, and an occasional extravagance. Being extra quiet to not wake up my mother was a main challenge, trying to tippy toe around the cabin and dodging the creaky spots in the floor. Prior to eating breakfast, I began getting dressed. Due to the fact that I was in northern Minnesota, the weather was bone chilling and the wind would seep right through your layers onto your unexpecting skin. Once I had put on my long johns, sweatpants, and long sleeve shirt with a tee shirt on top I began to make my breakfast. I had decided to have scrambled eggs that were cooked to perfection with the yolk golden mixed in with the pure snow white egg white and flakes of pepper sprinkled throughout and toast with butter melted onto the crunchy outside making it soft with homemade strawberry jam spread thick on top. After I had finished my meal I continued getting ready. In doing so I put on the remainder of my clothes, my sweatshirt and hunting pants came next followed by my wool socks and winter hunting boots. Next I checked to make sure my backpack was ready and had all the essentials in it in case something were to happen. Lastly I grabbed my already loaded sleek black shotgun and put on my heaving winter coat, hats and gloves. Now I was ready to begin my hunt. The Metaphysics Of Morals By Immanuel Kant In The Metaphysics of Morals, Section I focuses on the process of instilling the concept of virtue into those who have not yet developed their own sense of pure practical reason. The author insists that this should be done methodically and through a system of dialogue. Through a series of questions and answers between a pupil and his instructor. In Section I of The Metaphysics of Morals, Immanuel Kant states that moral catechism needs to precede any religious catechisms. Kant goes on to say that professions of religion cannot be made until a mature moral conscience exists as it can make religion impure. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Two aspects that can be difficult for people to control of are education and personal responsibility. It is always easier to shift blame when things do not go as planned, such as failing a quiz, or turning in an assignment late. Those who shift blame have an external locus of control, meaning they blame others instead of taking responsibility for their actions. Sisney et al., (2000) reported that students having an external locus of control correlated to lower academic achievement and higher dropout rates. High school dropouts exhibited more external control and were less likely to stay in school because they feel that their destiny is out of their hands. If you make a mistake you should own it, and never shift the blame, always plan to be honest in everything you say and do. The most important reason if I hold myself accountable for my actions I am more likely to move toward my goals is that by using time management strategies, planning, and goal setting I am ensuring my college success. By using time management strategies, the student must figure out how to use time wisely and organize tasks that need to be completed. I could even choose to complete tasks early so I would not get the overwhelmed feeling when the deadline arrives. These theories have become widespread and intertwined with common beliefs to the point where many of them are now synonymous with actual theories. The flat earth theory is a claim that suggests the earth isn t a three dimensional sphere, but instead a flat, two dimensional circle (Flat Earth). The theory of plate tectonicsoutlines how continental drift occurs as a result of the lithosphere consisting of plates that are able to move along on top of the asthenosphere as well as what occurs in the mantle to cause the formation of these plates (Van Andel and Murphy, 1). Pseudoscientific ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When plate tectonic theory was first conceived with the continental drift theory in 1919, there was some controversy regarding the evidence found and the theory was not accepted. Many distinguished scientists including Harold Jeffreys believed that the new theory was false and refused to lend it support. However, evidence had been found by the 1960 s that showed oceanic crust is magnetic and could therefore confirm seafloor spreading, and continental drift (Richardson). On the other hand, the Bedford Level Experiment can be used to show the limitations of the flat earth theory again, as it showed that proponents of the theory refused to believe that it was incorrect. Instead of trying to reconfirm this data through proper research or conducting a similar experiment somewhere else in the world, believers of a flat earth denied the unsupportive evidence and clung to the few supportive points they had (Richardson). By being critical of one s own theory and actively searching for both supportive and unsupportive evidence, scientific theories can be strengthened and advanced. Oppositely, theories of pseudoscience are forgotten and become irrelevant as time goes on because of the search for selective evidence and minimal effort in trying to disprove them. This characteristic allows legitimate scientific theories to be easily identified ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I believe that this is a topic worth exploring in humanities because everybody can relate to it, and people tend to create impactful art, music, etc., in the name of love. Love can have a huge impact and play an essential and influential role in a person s life. The reason why I chose this specific time period is because I believe that it was a great time of romanticism. It was the beginning of a time where people took different approaches to showcase their thoughts and feelings, especially through art and music. The time period was also more modern, so many of the works involving loveare relatable to people today. Melody of Love Composed by Hans Engelmann Hans Engelmann lived from 1872 to 1914. He was a German composer who traveled to Pennsylvania to pursue his dreams of becoming a professional pianist, as he was dissatisfied with his life working in a mercantile office. Ralph Waldo Emerson s, Self Reliance , and Henry David Thoreau s, Where I Lived and What I Lived For , are both texts that influence the idea of transcendentalism which influences the way people think about society s actions and how self reliance. Emerson s text goes in depth about relying on oneself instead of the use of inventions that rid of bodily functions. Emerson and Thoreau s main source of similarity between individuality comes from their use of description. Emerson and Thoreau use description in multiple places to develop their ideas. Two particular places where it stands out is in paragraph three when Emerson states, Whoso would be a man must be a nonconformist , and in paragraph three of Thoreau s text It matters not what the clocks say or the attitudes and labors of men .
