Negative Effects On Social Media
Peer pressure is an incredibly widespread issue in today s society, and can have many significant and
long lasting effects. Social media plays a huge toll in this major topic. Humans can influence others to
do things that they shouldn t do. Peer pressure can cause many bad things such as drugs, sexting
,alcohol, and gang joining.
In the iGeneration, children feel tempted to do what their friends are doing. Kids spend multiple hours
on social media each day. It can strengthen their social abilities, but it can also pressure them into
doing things that they do not want to do or something that they would not normally do. This
generation is called the iGeneration because of the quick change in technology. The fear of missing
out encourages them to do bad things such as sexting, drinking alcohol, and taking/smoking drugs like
marijuana or harder drugs. Virtual peer pressure occurs daily. It is very harmful and only takes minutes
for kids to make hate groups and bully other kids. Social media apps like instagram, snapchat, twitter,
and Facebook are an open doorway for behind the screen harassment. For some children fitting in is
very hard so they will bully other kids to make themselves feel good and gain popularity. Studies
prove that viewing posts, pictures, and statuses of their friends acting inappropriately influenced them
into doing the same. For instance, in one study, 75% of the kids accepted the fact that the pressure to
blend in after seeing posts of their

Fair Trade Inc. Usa
This case talks about Fair Trade USA which is one of the leading certifier of fair trade products in
North America. Fair Trade USA was founded by Paul Rice in 1998. From a non profit organization,
Fair Trade USA growth has been phenomenal. Initially after first year of its inception, it started
certifying one million pounds of coffee. Today it is certifying more than 1 billion pounds of coffee per
day.
Ft USA got into valuable partnerships with Starbucks, Pepsi co, Whole foods and others and received
55 % brand recognition amongst its consumers in USA. Though the growth looks tremendous, FT
USA currently certifies less than 6 % of all coffee consumed in the U.S. Rice has then thought how the
10 million dollar non profit should proceed over the next decade. So Ft USA oriented itself towards
the pursuit of deep and effective social impact with real market penetration that will better match its
existing widespread consumer brand recognition.
FT USA benefitted over seven million people in developing countries and helped rural families who
were in poverty. FT USA ensured that its label means ensured strict adherence to a rigorous set of
standards that serve to inform the customers that certified products are socially and environmentally
responsible.
As a social enterprise, FT USA early on had sought to reduce dependency on grants and donations by
first building a strong earned revenue stream, which came from its certification services and by
licensing the Fair Trade Certified

The Treatment Of Antibiotic Resistance
Antibiotic Resistance occurs when bacteria reformat themselves in order to become unaffected by the
drugs or substances created to terminate them. They gain resistance to the drugs which causes the
drugs to be ineffective of use and leading to more harm. Antibiotic Resistance commonly occurs
within patients due to physicians misusing or overusing antibiotics. This creates a common resistance
to patients and resulting in the constant creation for new antibiotics that would treat the bacteria. The
main conflict generally evolves from medical stewardship where physicians have the responsibility to
optimally heal their patients to their best efforts. However this is being neglected by misuse of
antibiotics due to several reasons, including patients ignorance and fear of malpractice. The authors in
the articles Just give me the script: the scourge of antibiotic misuse and the threat to us all written by
Ranjana Srivastava, Health ignorant patients one of many problems exacerbating antibiotic resistance
written by C.L. Doherty, and Ignorance about antibiotics propelling global superbug crisis written by

Immigration Reform For Immigrants
Immigration Reform for Immigrants with Kids That Are Citizens
It s the year 2016 and the country has changed a lot of rules within the last 10 years regarding
immigration. However, illegals with anchor babies are still being deported for small things such as not
paying a ticket. Immigration is not a topic that applies to everyone, but immigration has always been
an issue in the United States for instance, in the past, it was made a big deal when immigration levels
rose significantly and families started getting separated. This issue has been brought up again because
of this year s presidential election and comments the candidates have made regarding immigrants.

For example, a page in a blog titled Should the Government Allow Immigrants Who Are Here

many people would pay large amounts of money to become citizens. Another benefit is that families
can live in peace without the fear of being separated and losing everything they worked for. However,
they also believe that it was not right to have come into the country illegally so these immigrants
should be punished not rewarded for breaking the law. Overall, there are people who are for, against,
and indecisive about an immigration reform. Creating an immigration reform would be beneficial to
many people in many ways. One benefit would be that it would help the economy because many
people would file to get the documents and it wouldn t be a cheap document. Another benefit is that
families wouldn t get separated and they wouldn t live in the fear of never seeing each other

TEMA 8 DESARROLLO Y DISEÑO DEL SERVICIO.
Incompleto. Subjetividad. Interpretación sesgada.

Grey Eagle Research Paper
In August 2005, the army awarded a $214 million contract for the development of an extended range
multi purpose unmanned aerial vehicle named the warrior . The ERMP Warrior would have the
longest range of any UAV system then in the army, and its diesel powered air vehicle would eliminate
the need for a special fuel on the battlefield. The air vehicle would have multiple on board weapons
and be capable of loitering over enemy territories for 36 hours at altitudes up to 25,000 ft. The
Synthetic Aperture Radar/Moving Target Indicator (SAR/MTI) was an army acquisition category III

The Gray Eagle offers a reliable, low risk next generation UAS solution to meet challenging
requirements for reconnaissance, surveillance, and target acquisition (RTSA) and attack operations.
The Gray Eagle has an endurance of 25 hours. It has speeds which can reach up to 167 KTAS. It can
operate up to 29,000 feet while carrying 1,075 lb (488 kg) of internal and external payload. The Gray
Eagle can carry multiple payloads, including the Electro Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) with laser
designation, Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) communications relay, and four Hellfire missiles. The
Gray Eagle can stay in a combat zone longer than the previous predator drones which supports the
Army s single fuel in the battlefield concept. It provides increased horsepower and significantly
improved fuel efficiency, utilizing either jet or diesel fuel. The Gray Eagle features a fault tolerant
control system and a triple redundant avionics system, similar to the systems integrated in the battle
proven Predator B. Designed with airworthiness as a primary consideration, the Gray Eagle, is
engineered to meet and exceed manned aircraft reliability standards. The Gray Eagle is dedicated to
direct operational control by Army field commanders. Its expansive mission set includes wide area
intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), convoy protection, improvised explosive device
(IED) detection and defeat, close air support, communications relay, and weapons delivery missions.
The Gray Eagle features an automatic takeoff and landing system (ATLS) that allows the aircraft to be

Ethical Implications Of Ethical Consumerism
1.0 Ethical Consumerism 1.1 Definition The term Ethical consumerism, means that more customers
prefer to purchase goods that are obtained ethically, made ethically and distributed ethically.
According to Jacqueline Payne (2012), An ethical consumer is someone who buys things that are
produced ethically. Depending on the context, ethical production may mean producing something that
is recycled, using labour that is produced in facilities without the use of slavery and child labour, or
processing food that is raised organic or free range. If you buy one of these products, you could be an
ethical consumer and not even know it... or you may not be one. However, the whole point of the

Second New Deal Research Paper
Early in the year of 1929, the stock market crashed, leaving only panic and despair behind. Some
thought that it would only be a short time before everything was normal once again, but that was not
so. Hunger, death, and misery hung in the air, shrouding the dejected feeling that thrived everywhere
at that time. People dreamed of leaving this world of toil and trouble claiming that their home s in
heaven, I m going there (The Carter Family). Many gave up trying, and simply waited. After the
Election of 1933, President Roosevelt and his administration focused on the Great Depression and

Based on the Unemployment Statistics by Gene Smiley, we can see that the First New Deal did help
bring the unemployment rate down, as did the Second Deal. In fact, the total decrease during those
time periods was 11.5 percent. This is a great improvement, but it was not permanent. When the
Second New Deal ended after 1937, the unemployment rate skyrocketed once again, increasing from
9.1 percent to 12.3 percent (Smiley). The New Deal could never hold its own weight, so why could it
handle the collapsing economy as well? The answer is that it could not, not for a long period of time at
least. It would take 2 more years to bring the unemployment rate near where it was at the end of the
Second New Deal programs, and another year after that to bring the rate below the 9.1 percent in 1937
(Smiley). After the 5 years of work and struggle that the First and Second New Deals went through,
after 5 years of planning for success and stability in the years to come, the barrier collapsed, and that
work and time and effort and planning, all of it, was gone in an

The media bashes Cleveland for this everyone knows it. MGK attempts portrays the status of
Cleveland through his album cover of General Admission. Even in the overall negative tone the media
puts on the city, MGK expresses the value of the city by portraying the buildings in gold. He sees
through the bad parts of the city and acknowledges its potential worth. The city, painted in gold, sits
on small chunks of land that holds it up, seeming like it could fall any minute. This shows the cities
roots makes everything unstable. Although there are no experts on Cleveland s history or its roots in
the room. We must take into account MGK s credibility of growing up on the streets and
understanding the city from his point of view tells us a lot. He wants Cleveland it be a great city, a city
where everyone wants to take a vacation to. Additionally, MGK also shows how the profitable and the

leaves the rich unaffected by the drab environment they are not exposed to, therefore they make no

held in Los Angeles, in 1932. The games commenced on 30th July 1932 and came to an end on 14th
August 1932. This participation was considered poor when compared to other Olympic games held

INTRODUCTION
The audit risk model has provided a conceptual framework for auditing practice for more than 40
years. Despite practical difficulties in implementation and criticisms of its theoretical foundation, the
model has been fairly effective in helping auditors analyze risks and use that analysis to determine the
nature, timing, and extent of audit procedures (especially substantive procedures) in audits of financial
statements. The audit risk model provides a conceptual framework for the risk assessment standards.
In recent years, auditors have tried to apply the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These are: * ISA 315, Understanding the Entity and its Environment and Assessing the Risks of
Material Misstatements * ISA 330, The Auditor s Procedures in Response to Assessed Risks * ISA
500 (Revised), Audit Evidence.
The requirements in these newly issued risk standards represent significant changes to the standards
governing audits of financial statements. They enable the auditors to focus more clearly on areas
where there is a greater risk of misstatement of the financial statements. The belief is that these risk
standards will increase audit quality. This is as a result of better risk assessments through a more
detailed understanding of the entity and its environment, including internal control, and improved
design and performance of audit procedures to respond to assessed risks of material misstatements.
The improved linkage of audit procedures and assessed risks is expected to result in a greater
concentration of audit effort on areas where there is a greater risk of material misstatements.
The scope of each of the risk standards is reflected in the introduction to the standards, and can be
summarized as follows.
ISA 315
This standard provides guidance on performing audit procedures to obtain a broader understanding of
the entity and its environment, including its internal control, and on assessing risks of material
misstatement. The IAASB recognises that there may be specific considerations relevant to the audit of

In 2013, at Duke University School of Medicine, scientists implanted brain chips into rats barrel
cortex to teach them see infrared light that they normally cannot see. Neuroscientist Miguel Nicolelis
and Eric Thomson made an experiment where they implanted four clusters of sensors into the barrel
cortexes of the rats that were responsible for their senses. Those clusters converted infrared light into
an electrical signal that stimulated rats to go to one of the four feeding stations. Rats would go the
feeding station where the infrared light was on and press the button on the feeding station to receive
the reward. In an older, single sensor version of the experiment, it took the rats one month to adapt.
With four sensors, it took them just three days (Coghlan). What interesting was that rats original
senses stayed the same without changes, plus they learned to use their new sense of seeing infrared
light. Later, scientists want to teach rats see the ultraviolet light, microwaves, radio waves, and X rays.

`` Speak, Traum Toward A Revised Understanding Of Literary...
Trauma Theory and Enon
In his article entitled Speak, Trauma: Toward a Revised Understanding of Literary Trauma Theory,
Joshua Pederson proposed a new method of approaching a text from the perspective of literary trauma
theory that set aside old methods in favor of those that reflect the most recent advancements made in
trauma research. Rather than approaching a text according to Caruth, Herman, or van der Kolk s
definitions of trauma, Pederson suggested that scholars attempt to perceive a literary text according to
the latest definition laid out by Richard McNally (Pederson 338). In utilizing his method of approach
to analyze the contemporary trauma narrative in Paul Harding s Enon, it became apparent to me that
the novel s protagonist, Charlie Crosby, exhibits the exact characteristics of recent trauma research
findings, and none of the characteristics described in older definitions, leading me to assert that
Harding s understanding and depiction of trauma reflects modern research, perhaps suggesting that he
studied modern trauma theory in preparation for writing this novel. It is relevant to note that Harding
wrote this novel during a very controversial time in trauma literary theory. This controversy is sparked
by recent developments in the field of psychology suggesting that older definitions of trauma are no
longer believed to be accurate. Therefore, literary theory based on those outdated definitions is no
longer based on valid research, and thus no longer

Forensic Database Research Paper Forensic scientists and investigators need to use databases to

to be stored and easily accessed, so investigators can identify whoever committed the crime. The
NIBIN, IAFIS, and CODIS databases are some of the tools widely used and available to forensic

identification of ballistics information from across the country (ATF.) It was formed in the 1990 s in

How Generational Trauma In The Lone Ranger And Tonto Fist...
The way we live defines us, tradition defines us. Tradition is a very important thing. It is something
that spans many generations and is a part of one s identity. Tradition can define us. Therefore when
tradition is forcibly taken away it can hurt a lot of people and generations. An example of a people
who have had many of their traditions suppressed and taken away are the original inhabitants of the
Americas. Their tradition was taken from them and they were either killed or forced into following a
new tradition which erasing all of their identity. The effect this has on the newer generation is bad
because they will feel like a part of them is missing because their tradition was taken and it can cause
a trauma called generational trauma. The book The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fist Fight in heaven,
focuses on a Native American named Victor in order to describe how generational trauma causes a
weakening of tradition because it becomes replaced with alcohol and isolation. In addition, Alexie
presents how a rekindling of old traditions is a way out of this harmful circle.
When Victor was a child his parents would drink a lot and would neglect him because they dealt with
their pain by drinking. They drank because they were drinking away the problems caused by the
generational trauma they and the generation before them had to endure. For example, during the New
Year s party, everyone got drunk, even Victor s parents, left Victor by himself. Victor s father and
mother drank more

Persuasive Essay On Weight Class
key points
Unless you are weighing a pride for life, the fastest way to increase your competence in power lifting
is to get fat leaner if you lose.
After that, you should strive to get into the greatest weight class that you can achieve while
maintaining a good body structure.
When you go up to weight classes, it may be less competitive for you for one or two years while
acquiring muscle but in general a weight class will be more competitive in heavy in the long run.
Most people should not depend on water cut to make weight, but if you cut water, you should not cut 2
3% more than your body weight with daily weight or 5% of your body weight Weight a day ago Large

However, if this response is not comfortable with you, I m not very surprised. It is often met with

The Motivation For Jerry And Christopher At A Ice Cream...
During my screenplay workshop, I received a lot of helpful suggestions on my overall motivation of
my characters. In my revision process, I tried to focus more on the overall motive for my two main
characters. For example, I added the motivation for Jerry and Christopher to open an ice cream parlor.
This helped with my revision of plot and main conflict because the two characters did not have
enough money for the down payment on the open space. As a result, they decide to rob a bank in order
to get the money for the payment. Another thing I tried to work on during my revision was the
characterization of my two main characters. The two characters are, indeed, stupid. However, my goal
was to make their appearance a little different and they way they spoke different. An example of my
use of characterization is when Christopher speaks. For example, Christopher is very goofy like Jerry.
However, he has a small sense of responsibility/wisdom. In the car, he is the one to have a notebook
with all the information on the vacant space and bank. Moreover, he is the one that starts to become
serious when he fights the hostage in the bank. Although both of the characters are stupid, Christopher
s character is what keeps the guys going. Without Chris, Jerry would be clueless. We can see Jerry s
characterization through his actions. Jerry does not think anything through. For instance, in the bank,
he brings in business cards with both their names on them. This is something stupid

The Behavioral Inhibition System (BIS) and the Behavioral Activation System (BAS) are two neural
motivational systems. Sensitivity to punishment is adjusted by Behavioral Inhibition System and
sensitivty to reward is regulated by Behavioral Activation System. If there is imbalance between these
BIS and BAS systems, it can cause some forms of psychological problems (Scholten, Honk, Aleman,
Kahn, 2006).
Gray s biopsychological personality theory based mostly animal research. He emphasised relationship
between reinforcement and personality (Şişman, 2012). So his theory is called as Reinforcement

For example evidence of association between high BIS level and anxiety disorder was found in Svihra
Katzman s study with children (2004). So development of anxiety disorders in childhood or adulthood
can be identified earlier through Behavioral Inhibition System level. And this may help about
preventive treatments to children (Svihra Katzman, 2004). Also Scholten, Honk, Aleman, Kahn s
study (2006) with people who have schizophrenia arrived at the conclusion that is higher BIS
sensitivity correlated with longer continuation of schizophrenia. As a 3rd example from Kepley (2002)

Essay about The Making of the Golden Age of Children s...
For children s literature the Golden Age was a time of reform and new beginnings. The Golden Age
opened the doors for an interesting read where adults are not present. The literature that was intended
for children during this period introduced a world of literature in which children were the protagonist.
These stories not only take children on remarkable journeys though time but they also address many
issues of social class in regards to children. The Golden Age reflects greatly the Victorian era where
children were left to become orphans because their parents could not support them financially or
because their parents just did not want them. The Golden age welcomed children into a society that
they were once neglected by. It was not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These stories often times take children out of the real world and take them to a world that is full of
magic and freedom. These stories were meant to help put a stop to excessive child labor. The Golden
age wanted to give children freedom to explore what was once forbidden. These books make the
impossible now possible for its child reader. These books bring to life all the words and pictures and
allow children to expand their minds.
The Golden Age was a period where the middle class was on the rise. Before this period the middle
class was not able to buy any literature because they were made to be very expensive so that only the
upper class could afford the literature Until the Golden Age children of the middle and lower class
were not seen as worth of getting any form of education even if they tried to educate themselves by
reading a book. However, once the introduction of the Golden Age the upper class was no longer the
only people who had access to children literature. The advancement of technology and different media
forms helped allow for the development of cheaper books to be produced so that everyone could
possibly afford them and all children would have the opportunity to read literature that was uplifting.
One of the most common structures of children literature is when a child is displayed to go through
several different life stages. After the child becomes and orphan and is exposed to different elements

Dichotomy In The Exorcist
The Exorcist In this essay I will be talking about the symbols and their meanings and dichotomies
found in the exorcist, as well as some elements of horror I found in the film and my own opinion
about the film.
The film was directed by William Friedkin and it is based on the novel The Exorcist from 1971. this
film The Exorcist is about a mother who is an actor and her daughter who unfortunately has been
possessed by the devil himself. It follows them and how the mother is trying to help her and that after
trying everything she gets to priests to perform an exorcism on her and she is then rid of the monster.
Dichotomy is when a seemingly harmless thing is portrayed as the opposite. One dichotomy in the
film is Regan. Regan is a dichotomy because ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As for why the effects were like that I have a feeling it is because they were made quite a while back
so that our knowledge of special effects and our ability to make effects has grown greatly. As for the
long and boring scenes that is probably because in the 1970s they were practicing with new styles of
filming. At the point in the film where Karras meets a possessed Regan to judge her level of how
possessed she was and throws holy water at her. Later he said it was only tap water, this confused me
because I do not get why the devil would react in way that seemed like he was harmed by the water
towards the tap water. A reason that could have been is because according to Damien Karras, the
demon s reaction to the tap water could mean that the possession is not genuine. This would therefore
weaken his case for an exorcism. So, it could be that the demon was deliberately reacting to the tap
water so Karras would not get permission to perform the exorcism. Overall I thought that the film was
pretty well acted and even though the effects were bad I was still really

Causes Of The Southern Secession
Randy Hoang Professor: History 349 Sep. 18, 17 Southern Secession Slaves were integral part of
southern society and their economy. The pressure crested amid the 1850, for the privilege to have
slaves in new areas. From early days, the thirteen states had developed autonomously, and each had
their own specific culture and feelings, which were consistently opposite with those held in various
states. A few states were undermining to leave the nation since they felt perilous by the way the
government is mishandling their powers. Geologically, the north and south were two distinct universes
where they have their own way of life and accepts. For the south, it was a hot prairie land, ideal for
cotton growing, a crash crops business amid at this time. At that point came the Eli Whitney s Cotton

plantation, then there were these poor whites desperately trying to find a job. This made pressure with
the northern society because the white men couldn t get hired because the salves would do the job for

Penetration Testing
Using penetration testing to enhance your company s security Based on the fundamental principle that
prevention is better than cure, penetration testing (pen testing) is essentially an information assurance
activity to determine if information is appropriately secured. Conducted by penetration testers,
sometimes referred to as white hats or ethical hackers, these tests use the same tools and techniques as
the bad guys ( black hat hackers ), but do so in a controlled manner with the express permission of the
target organization. Vulnerability scans versus pen testing A common area of confusion is the
relationship between vulnerability scanning (automated) and pen testing (expert driven manual
testing). Both involve a proactive and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This would involve the testing of Android, iOS and BlackBerry applications that can help
organizations pinpoint and correct flaws in their mobile applications as well as understand the risks
posed by new mobile platforms. There are numerous other types of penetration testing that include

over two million network vulnerability scans and found that some 5% of all passwords involved some
variation of the word password Password1 was the most commonly used because it satisfies the
complexity rules for many systems including the default settings for Microsoft s widely used Active

of knowledge that a penetration tester needs to know is quite difficult to describe succinctly. Certainly
some typical traits are a strong theoretical computer science background and an extensive and broad
foundation of practical knowledge with respect to operating systems and software used within the
enterprise. Naturally on top of this needs to be layered an in depth knowledge of attack and
penetration techniques that don t always lend themselves well to being assessed through typical
interview scenarios. Therefore many hiring managers will look for candidates with a minimum level
of experience working in a full time penetration testing role with companies the

Comparing Beowulf And Gilgamesh
The Babylonian Gilgamesh and the Christian Priest Beowulf both feature important heroes. An
important part of a hero s journey is the transformation that the hero s character goes through over the
course of the story. In Gilgamesh, Gilgamesh is an ill mannered king, while in Beowulf; Beowulf is a
great warrior for his town. These two works show the different processes of a hero and the process
they must go through to be remembered as one. Gilgamesh includes the idea that he can go on a
journey to find the cure, for him to become immortal and live forever. By contrast, Beowulf goes on a
journey by going on a mission to defeat the great monster Grendel. Elsewhere in Gilgamesh, however

is searching for the right path to take to try and make his life better. His character is sad and depressed
and needs guidance on the right path to take. As the author states, Therefore, Gilgamesh decides to
seek out Utnapishtim, who alone of human beings has achieved immortality. Gilgamesh stops at the
inn of the alewife Siduri to ask for directions to Utnapishtim land. She tells Gilgamesh that he will

for sure: he is going to die. In contrast Beowulf is also faced with some big decisions to make to

However, despite best efforts, the transition will still cause some problems with relation to changeover
costs and increased training, particularly for current users of US GAAP. Therefore, despite the process
being one which is expected to be beneficial to many and establish a significant improvement in
harmonisation, there will still be some difficulties in regards to financial reporting that companies in
the US may face. The main aim of this research is to critically assess the convergence of IFRS and US
GAAP from the point of view of the US, and evaluate the alterations in financial reporting standards
that will cause problems for companies and consumers in the US
Introduction 1.1 Background
Over the last decade, the way in which financial reporting is carried out has seen some significant
advancements. One of the most momentous changes has been the introduction of International
Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), which have been adopted broadly throughout the world, with
one major exception, the United States. Before accounting standards can be considered truly global,
this exception has to be resolved. The prospect of such an occurrence took massive strides in 2002,
when the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB); responsible for standard setting in the US,
announced their intention to work alongside the IASB in order to converge IFRS with US GAAP. For
the first time, a truly global set of accounting standards seemed a

Advantages Of Js Cogens

accepted and recognized by the international community of States as a whole as a norm from which no
derogation is permitted and which can be modified only by a subsequent norm of general international

These rights are all interrelated, interdependent and indivisible. Universal human rights are often

of Governments to act in certain ways or to refrain from certain acts, in order to promote and protect
human rights and fundamental freedoms of individuals or groups 2.Now as to the question if if should
human rights be considered a jus cogens, I will qualify my arguments mainly to the characteristics of a
jus cogens identified by Rafael Nieto Navia which is first the norm must be a norm of general

community of States as a whole and Lastly, the norm must be one from which no derogation is

The Theory Of The Natural Sciences
Knowledge, to me, can be defined as information that has been verified, either by self or by the group
and is something that we know and believe. Information on the other hand is not necessarily known by
us as individuals, but nevertheless, it does exist. The sum of all information is therefore our total
potential knowledge. This prescribed title not only implies that the only knowledge possible is shared
knowledge , but that knowledge itself is impossible for an individual to attain. This in turn discounts
hunches, suspicions and theories which are all seen as being forms of personal knowledge . This title
must be used in context for it to hold meaning. In context of the natural sciences, this title holds true
as greater society is not so naive as to believe as fact the thoughts of a single man. But when the
thoughts and ideas of a single man are put through a tried and tested method, such as the scientific
method, tests are carried out, criticism is allowed and improvement is made, only then, with the
relative evidence to back up this solitary man s claim, do we, the group, begin to accept his claim as
knowledge . On the other hand, knowledge of what we deem ethical and morally right, whilst we can
gain this from interaction with the group, is not typically verified by the group, but rather is verified
by ourselves, within our own heads. An important question to ask in conjunction with the prescribed
title is How does knowledge creation differ between areas of

The President is not only the head of state and government in the United States; he is also the
Commander in Chief of the armed forces. The President, according to the constitution, is supposed to
be responsible for carrying out and enforcing the laws created by Congress. The executive branch is
made up of many departments. There are fifteen executive departments that are led by a chosen

requirements. The President also appoints more than 50 independent federal commissions, like the

Unlike other approaches to distributed file systems, the storage and processing of HDFS is done at

Art Statue Analysis
At first glance of the two statues, they look as if they were part of a bigger, grander arrangement. They
both have similar style of carving, composition and go together well. So one can suspect that they may
have been pulled out of a group even without prior knowledge of the people the figures represented.
There are subtle details in both art pieces that helps to convey the emotions without being too dramatic
to the viewer. For example, the position of the art work s hand or the slight leaning of the head. These
may seem to be too inconspicuous to convey a message, but when one sees all these elements come
together in the piece, it all makes sense. The main focus of these art pieces are the emotions they
convey and not necessary the craftsmanship of the artist. The artist is able to capture the viewer s
attention by making the art pieces convey their messages through their eyes and body composition.

Introduction Before understanding the research to be conducted, one must understand the who, what,
when, and why of the issue. Many people know and understand that with a better education they will

According to Bureau of Justice Statistics (2012), Recidivism is measured by criminal acts that resulted
in the rearrests, reconviction, or return to prison with or without a new sentence during a three year
period following the prisoner s release (Recidivism, par. 1).
If the hypothesis is confirmed the theory will suggest that the lower the education level of an
individual, the more apt that individual is to having a hard time finding work. If an individual, who
has been to prison or jail, gets released into society with a low education level they will have a hard
time finding a job. If this individual cannot find a job they will most likely turn to crime to get money
to support themselves or their families, thus proving that the lower the education rate the higher the
recidivism rate is.
If the hypothesis is not confirmed it will suggest that there is no connection between education levels
and recidivism rates back into jail or prison. If not proved the hypothesis will also show that
individuals released back into society turn back to crime for other reasons and not anything to do with

  • 2. Negative Effects On Social Media Peer pressure is an incredibly widespread issue in today s society, and can have many significant and long lasting effects. Social media plays a huge toll in this major topic. Humans can influence others to do things that they shouldn t do. Peer pressure can cause many bad things such as drugs, sexting ,alcohol, and gang joining. In the iGeneration, children feel tempted to do what their friends are doing. Kids spend multiple hours on social media each day. It can strengthen their social abilities, but it can also pressure them into doing things that they do not want to do or something that they would not normally do. This generation is called the iGeneration because of the quick change in technology. The fear of missing out encourages them to do bad things such as sexting, drinking alcohol, and taking/smoking drugs like marijuana or harder drugs. Virtual peer pressure occurs daily. It is very harmful and only takes minutes for kids to make hate groups and bully other kids. Social media apps like instagram, snapchat, twitter, and Facebook are an open doorway for behind the screen harassment. For some children fitting in is very hard so they will bully other kids to make themselves feel good and gain popularity. • 3. Fair Trade Inc. Usa This case talks about Fair Trade USA which is one of the leading certifier of fair trade products in North America. Fair Trade USA was founded by Paul Rice in 1998. From a non profit organization, Fair Trade USA growth has been phenomenal. Initially after first year of its inception, it started certifying one million pounds of coffee. Today it is certifying more than 1 billion pounds of coffee per day. Ft USA got into valuable partnerships with Starbucks, Pepsi co, Whole foods and others and received 55 % brand recognition amongst its consumers in USA. Though the growth looks tremendous, FT USA currently certifies less than 6 % of all coffee consumed in the U.S. Rice has then thought how the 10 million dollar non profit should proceed over the next decade. So Ft USA oriented itself towards the pursuit of deep and effective social impact with real market penetration that will better match its existing widespread consumer brand recognition. FT USA benefitted over seven million people in developing countries and helped rural families who were in poverty. FT USA ensured that its label means ensured strict adherence to a rigorous set of standards that serve to inform the customers that certified products are socially and environmentally responsible. As a social enterprise, FT USA early on had sought to reduce dependency on grants and donations by first building a strong earned revenue stream, which came from its certification services and by licensing the Fair Trade Certified ... The main conflict generally evolves from medical stewardship where physicians have the responsibility to optimally heal their patients to their best efforts. However this is being neglected by misuse of antibiotics due to several reasons, including patients ignorance and fear of malpractice. However, illegals with anchor babies are still being deported for small things such as not paying a ticket. Immigration is not a topic that applies to everyone, but immigration has always been an issue in the United States for instance, in the past, it was made a big deal when immigration levels rose significantly and families started getting separated. However, they also believe that it was not right to have come into the country illegally so these immigrants should be punished not rewarded for breaking the law. When the Second New Deal ended after 1937, the unemployment rate skyrocketed once again, increasing from 9.1 percent to 12.3 percent (Smiley). Despite practical difficulties in implementation and criticisms of its theoretical foundation, the model has been fairly effective in helping auditors analyze risks and use that analysis to determine the nature, timing, and extent of audit procedures (especially substantive procedures) in audits of financial statements. These are: * ISA 315, Understanding the Entity and its Environment and Assessing the Risks of Material Misstatements * ISA 330, The Auditor s Procedures in Response to Assessed Risks * ISA 500 (Revised), Audit Evidence. The requirements in these newly issued risk standards represent significant changes to the standards governing audits of financial statements. They enable the auditors to focus more clearly on areas where there is a greater risk of misstatement of the financial statements. The belief is that these risk standards will increase audit quality. This is as a result of better risk assessments through a more detailed understanding of the entity and its environment, including internal control, and improved design and performance of audit procedures to respond to assessed risks of material misstatements. The improved linkage of audit procedures and assessed risks is expected to result in a greater concentration of audit effort on areas where there is a greater risk of material misstatements. The scope of each of the risk standards is reflected in the introduction to the standards, and can be summarized as follows. ISA 315 This standard provides guidance on performing audit procedures to obtain a broader understanding of the entity and its environment, including its internal control, and on assessing risks of material misstatement. Trauma Theory and Enon In his article entitled Speak, Trauma: Toward a Revised Understanding of Literary Trauma Theory, Joshua Pederson proposed a new method of approaching a text from the perspective of literary trauma theory that set aside old methods in favor of those that reflect the most recent advancements made in trauma research. Rather than approaching a text according to Caruth, Herman, or van der Kolk s definitions of trauma, Pederson suggested that scholars attempt to perceive a literary text according to the latest definition laid out by Richard McNally (Pederson 338). In utilizing his method of approach to analyze the contemporary trauma narrative in Paul Harding s Enon, it became apparent to me that the novel s protagonist, Charlie Crosby, exhibits the exact characteristics of recent trauma research findings, and none of the characteristics described in older definitions, leading me to assert that Harding s understanding and depiction of trauma reflects modern research, perhaps suggesting that he studied modern trauma theory in preparation for writing this novel. It is relevant to note that Harding wrote this novel during a very controversial time in trauma literary theory. This controversy is sparked by recent developments in the field of psychology suggesting that older definitions of trauma are no longer believed to be accurate. It is something that spans many generations and is a part of one s identity. Tradition can define us. Therefore when tradition is forcibly taken away it can hurt a lot of people and generations. An example of a people who have had many of their traditions suppressed and taken away are the original inhabitants of the Americas. Their tradition was taken from them and they were either killed or forced into following a new tradition which erasing all of their identity. The effect this has on the newer generation is bad because they will feel like a part of them is missing because their tradition was taken and it can cause a trauma called generational trauma. In my revision process, I tried to focus more on the overall motive for my two main characters. For example, I added the motivation for Jerry and Christopher to open an ice cream parlor. This helped with my revision of plot and main conflict because the two characters did not have enough money for the down payment on the open space. As a result, they decide to rob a bank in order to get the money for the payment. Another thing I tried to work on during my revision was the characterization of my two main characters. The two characters are, indeed, stupid. However, my goal was to make their appearance a little different and they way they spoke different. An example of my use of characterization is when Christopher speaks. For example, Christopher is very goofy like Jerry. However, he has a small sense of responsibility/wisdom. In the car, he is the one to have a notebook with all the information on the vacant space and bank. Moreover, he is the one that starts to become serious when he fights the hostage in the bank. Although both of the characters are stupid, Christopher s character is what keeps the guys going. Without Chris, Jerry would be clueless. We can see Jerry s characterization through his actions. An important part of a hero s journey is the transformation that the hero s character goes through over the course of the story. In Gilgamesh, Gilgamesh is an ill mannered king, while in Beowulf; Beowulf is a great warrior for his town. These two works show the different processes of a hero and the process they must go through to be remembered as one. Gilgamesh includes the idea that he can go on a journey to find the cure, for him to become immortal and live forever. If, however, Gilgamesh really wants to become immortal, Utnapishtim says, he should first stay awake for six days and seven nights. Exhausted by his travels, Gilgamesh quickly falls asleep and sleeps for six days and seven nights, until Utnapishtim wakes him. Then Gilgamesh knows for sure: he is going to die. The main aim of this research is to critically assess the convergence of IFRS and US GAAP from the point of view of the US, and evaluate the alterations in financial reporting standards that will cause problems for companies and consumers in the US Introduction 1.1 Background Over the last decade, the way in which financial reporting is carried out has seen some significant advancements. One of the most momentous changes has been the introduction of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), which have been adopted broadly throughout the world, with one major exception, the United States. Before accounting standards can be considered truly global, this exception has to be resolved. The prospect of such an occurrence took massive strides in 2002, when the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB); responsible for standard setting in the US, announced their intention to work alongside the IASB in order to converge IFRS with US GAAP. For the first time, a truly global set of accounting standards seemed a

  • 36. The Theory Of The Natural Sciences Knowledge, to me, can be defined as information that has been verified, either by self or by the group and is something that we know and believe. Information on the other hand is not necessarily known by us as individuals, but nevertheless, it does exist. The sum of all information is therefore our total potential knowledge. This prescribed title not only implies that the only knowledge possible is shared knowledge , but that knowledge itself is impossible for an individual to attain. This in turn discounts hunches, suspicions and theories which are all seen as being forms of personal knowledge . This title must be used in context for it to hold meaning. In context of the natural sciences, this title holds true as greater society is not so naive as to believe as fact the thoughts of a single man. But when the thoughts and ideas of a single man are put through a tried and tested method, such as the scientific method, tests are carried out, criticism is allowed and improvement is made, only then, with the relative evidence to back up this solitary man s claim, do we, the group, begin to accept his claim as knowledge . On the other hand, knowledge of what we deem ethical and morally right, whilst we can gain this from interaction with the group, is not typically verified by the group, but rather is verified by ourselves, within our own heads. An important question to ask in conjunction with the prescribed title is How does knowledge creation differ between areas of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The MapReduce was implemented using C + + and has interfaces to Java and Python. The MapReduce was developed by Google but there are some open source implementations, among which stands out the Hadoop (Hadoop 2010). The Hadoop is a framework of free code in Java to run applications that manipulate large amounts of data in distributed environments. The Hadoop is composed by the file system HDFS (Hadoop Distributed File System) and a parallel execution environment. Within this environment, or better, the Hadoop framework, several subprojects can be found, such as the implementation of MapReduce, the distributed data management system called HBase, data flow language r and structure for parallel execution called Pig. The main characteristics of the Hadoop are: distributed storage systems, file partitioned into large blocks is distributed on the nodes of the system, blocks replicated to handle hardware failure and a location for temporary data. So one can suspect that they may have been pulled out of a group even without prior knowledge of the people the figures represented. There are subtle details in both art pieces that helps to convey the emotions without being too dramatic to the viewer. For example, the position of the art work s hand or the slight leaning of the head. These may seem to be too inconspicuous to convey a message, but when one sees all these elements come together in the piece, it all makes sense. The main focus of these art pieces are the emotions they convey and not necessary the craftsmanship of the artist. The artist is able to capture the viewer s attention by making the art pieces convey their messages through their eyes and body composition. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Bureau of Justice Statistics (2012), Recidivism is measured by criminal acts that resulted in the rearrests, reconviction, or return to prison with or without a new sentence during a three year period following the prisoner s release (Recidivism, par. 1). If the hypothesis is confirmed the theory will suggest that the lower the education level of an individual, the more apt that individual is to having a hard time finding work. If an individual, who has been to prison or jail, gets released into society with a low education level they will have a hard time finding a job. If this individual cannot find a job they will most likely turn to crime to get money to support themselves or their families, thus proving that the lower the education rate the higher the recidivism rate is. If the hypothesis is not confirmed it will suggest that there is no connection between education levels and recidivism rates back into jail or prison. If not proved the hypothesis will also show that individuals released back into society turn back to crime for other reasons and not anything to do with their education levels, thus proving that education levels have no effect on recidivism rates. Background/Literature review Recidivism is the result of a former prisoner relapsing into criminal activity and returning to prison for a new offense.
