How To Be A Better Essay Writer
Writing an essay on the topic of improving one's essay writing skills can be a paradoxical
challenge. On one hand, the subject matter seems straightforward—after all, who better to offer
advice on essay writing than someone who writes essays? However, the difficulty lies in the self-
reflection and critical analysis required to identify and articulate one's own strengths and
weaknesses as a writer. It's akin to trying to dissect your own thought processes while
simultaneously navigating the intricacies of language and structure.
Furthermore, the task demands a level of honesty and vulnerability that can be uncomfortable.
Admitting shortcomings in one's writing abilities requires humility and a willingness to confront
areas for improvement. This introspective journey can be both enlightening and frustrating, as it
often involves confronting deeply ingrained habits and confronting the possibility of failure.
Additionally, there's the challenge of balancing practical advice with personal anecdotes and
insights. While it's essential to provide actionable tips for honing essay writing skills, it's equally
important to infuse the essay with a sense of authenticity and relatability. Readers are more
likely to engage with and learn from the material if they feel a connection to the author's
experiences and struggles.
In essence, writing an essay on how to become a better essay writer requires navigating a maze
of self-awareness, humility, and effective communication. It's a journey that demands
introspection, vulnerability, and a commitment to growth. And while the process may be
daunting, the rewards—both personal and academic—are well worth the effort.

Examples Of Three Times When I Have Been Afraid
Three Times When I Have Been Afraid Every person everywhere has experienced
fear. Whether it is a car crash, a bad grade, or getting pulled over by a cop;
everyone has a moment in their life where they have been afraid. The three times
in my life where I have been extremely afraid were when I sank a sailboat, started a
brush fire, and crashed my car. The first example is the time my dad and I sunk a
sailboat. The day before the fourth of July my family and I went on a Vacation to
Hilton Head Island. While we were on the beach, my dad and I decided to rent a
sailboat with some of our friends. My dad gave the unexperienced lifeguard forty
five dollars for thirty minutes of sailing time. The lifeguard helped us put the boat in
the water and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Soon the whole neighborhood was crowding around the retention pond. A couple
of minutes went by, and the fire truck arrived. The firemen went to work putting
out the fire which ended up only feet away from the woods. My last example
involved a serious car crash. I had just received my driver s license a week before
this day of the wreck. My mom wanted me to drive to the other side of town and
drop something off to one of her friends. When I arrived her friend was just getting
ready to leave. I gave him my mom s item and went on my way as he left out the
neighborhood behind me. I came to a stop sign and I admittedly was not paying
very much attention to what I was doing. I looked one way, but not the other and
began to make a left hand turn across traffic. Once I realized what was about to
happen, it was too late. I had pulled out in front of a moving truck, and it plowed
into me on the driver s side door. The force of the impact pushed me into a ditch
across the road into oncoming traffic. I was frozen in fear and didn t know what to
do. Luckily my mom s friend saw the whole thing and raced over to the car to help
me. I had already climbed out of the car, and he helped me call my mom. The police
arrived shortly before my parents did and asked for my drivers and registration. I told
him what happened and he filed an accident report. My family arrived glad to see I
was not hurt in any way. The tow
First Battle Of Hoxington Research Paper
The First Battle of Lexington
How would you feel if you found yourself on a battlefield firing red hot cannon
shots at moving hay bales? This is exactly what soldiers did in the First Battle of
Lexington. This battle was not as tiresome as the battles of Bull Run or other battles
and under 200 casualties from both sides combined came out of this battle.
The First Battle of Lexington, which is located in Missouri, surprisingly also known
as the Battle of the Hemp Bales or the Siege of Lexington, was fought for eight
tedious days in 1861. From September 12 to September 20 the Union army and the
pro Confederate Missouri state guard in Lexington furiously clashed with muskets
canons, bayonets and hemp bales. The Missouri state guard was a militia of
approximately 25000 Confederate soldiers, although not all of these soldiers were
used in this battle. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After the victory at the Battle of Boonville Nathaniel Lyon, who was the first Union
general to be killed in the Civil War, ordered the United States 5th regiment to
occupy Lexington. Upon arrival Charles G. Stifel instructed the men to start
destroying boats that could be used to cross the wide Missouri River. He also
commanded the soldiers to collect any resources they found. Surprisingly they
collected six cannons and 200 kegs of powder.
Confederate General Sterling Price began fighting at Lexington on September 12
when two federal companies commenced firing upon them in the middle of their
Cavalry advance. Price retreated to allow for his sluggish artillery to meet them in
order that they might aid advancement. Price s artillery forced the enemy to rush to
the safety of beyond the vast plains. The artillery advanced once again and met the
state guard in a two and a half hour duel. Price crushed the Union forces which forced
them to retreat. Price decided against chasing the enemy in order to wait for the

American Montage Exhibition Essay
Leading our way the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, I toured the exhibit,
American Montage. American Montage made its big appearance of the work of
Brooklyn based artist, Adam Cvijanovic. From the previous fifteen years, this
exhibition highlights establishment and extensive scale canvases on Tyvek s shoal.
Cvijanovic s enthusiasm for nineteenth century landscape art is represented in the
American Montage. Walking into Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, I was
immediately drawn towards Adam Cvijanovic s exhibit. Cvijanovic s exhibit
included art pieces such as: Flint Hills, Discovery of America, Childhood of Buster
Keaton, and my favorite, Belshazzar s feast. Noted in each Contemporary style art
piece, Cvijanovic included landscape imagery. Each of Cvijanovic s pieces
contained visual feel, textural paint scheme, shadowing, and a bright color palette.
Belshazzar s feast appeared with deep hues of purple, dark shading, and the images
appeared to fade away in the distance. This monument was said to have been standing
sixteen feet tall, and consisted of nine separate panels. Belshazzar s feast appears to
contain a scene from ancient Babylon. I can conduct this from the realistic
appearance, and characteristics from the painting. Cvijanovic s technique for
acquiring such a large crowd on the scene is his technique of layering. The

I thought that was interesting because here recently I was able to tour that
wonderful Museum as well. The Discovery of America ranged from a sixty five

Reflection About My Personal Identity
When I take a look beck on my lifetime, I see that I ve changed a great deal in
regards to my personal identity. For me to put entirely into words on a paper
would take me days to explain how and why things went the way they did, so I d
like to shorten these feeling up. In my youth, I had clearly planned to take the
superhero path through life. Professional athlete, firefighter, police officer, or
basically anything portrayed in society as a model citizen, a class act if you will,
all racing through my mind when thinking about my future. I was mistaking, and
for good reason as I had these feelings until I was about ten years old. When the
first year with two digits associated itself with my age, a certain maturity occurred.
I wouldn t classify it as a life changing realization, but more of an assistant to my
later discoveries. In the time I spent working with my father, albeit mostly masonry
work, I began to ask questions with higher frequency. For myself, I wanted to
further my knowledge, but at that time, I was really annoyed that I couldn t
understand certain aspects to building such as why we used Weld Crete on all of
our bluestone patios when it seemed that we were the only masons doing anything
resemblant of our process. I continued to question my father about how our creations
held up and why we did certain things that seemed unnecessary. Whether we were
working on a fireplace, a patio, or a sprinkler system, I was never satisfied until I
understood why we took one
Robert Frost Influences
Robert Frost Authors write poetry for many reasons including to prove a point,
share life stories or to just make the reader think. Robert Frost is a great example
of a poet influenced by his experiences. These influences show up in most of his
poetry, but especially in The Road Not Taken , Stopping by Woods On a Snowy
Evening , and Birches . Moving to the New Englandregion the nature and people
helped him become a poet of worldly fame.
Robert Frost was born in San Francisco, California on March 26, 1874.
When his father died in 1885 he moved to Massachusetts with his mom and sister.
He spent his whole life in the Massachusetts area. Frost attended high school in that
state, and then Dartmouth College, but remained less than one semester
(Michalowski). At the age of thirty eight, Frost decided to move his family to
England. While in England his first book, A Boy s Will, was published in 1913. A
few years later he returned to America where his second book, North of Boston, was
published. (Michalowski) Massachusetts and other New England areas were the
setting for the majority of Frost s poetry. The nature in the New England area played
a big role in his life and influenced his poetry a lot. (Sweeny and Lindroth 7) The first
poem, The Road Not Taken, by Robert Frost is one great piece. Frost s metaphorical
comparison of the two roads reflected as ways and a journey in life. He
The Arab-Israeli Conflict Essays
The current conflict in the Middle East between the Israeli Jews and the Palestinian
Arabs has many historical roots. Several events in the history of this conflict have
been very important and also have a strong connection with the current situation
between the two sides.
One of these important events was the Nazi Holocaust. During the Second World
War the Jews were persecuted by the Nazis and sent to concentration camps. By the
end of the war in 1945 6 million Jews were killed and 250,000 were freed from the
concentration camps. As news about the holocaust emerged there was widespread
sympathy for the Jews especially in the U.S.A. which had a large Jewish population.

The Six Day War of 1967 was a dramatic military victory for the Israelis. In just six
days the Israeli army managed to take out most of the surrounding Arab state s air
force and regained control of the land that was lost in previous battles. The Israelis
had taken Sinai, the Gaza Strip, the West Bankand Jerusalem. The Golan Heights
were also seized by the Israelis which is a very advantageous military spot because it
is an area of high ground on the border of Israel and Syria. The Israelis came out of
the war feeling proud and victorious that they managed to take on the three Arab
countries by themselves. They were seen as the stronger military side by the rest
of the world. The Arab states were left with little land or pride after the humiliation
of the war. The PLO (Palestine Liberation Organisation) began to grow in size
because the Palestinians were determined to fight for their homeland after this
embarrassing defeat. Terrorism soon started to spread to Europe and other parts of
the world like in 1972 when 9 Palestinians seized and killed 11 Israeli athletes at the
Olympic Games. This act of terrorism and others like it were the result of divisions
within the PLO which lead to the creation of extremist groups who decided that raids

Christian Priesthood Research Paper
Virginity is not required by the nature of the priesthood itself. It set forth the motives
of the law for those who know how to appreciate the gifts of God. Celibacy always
inspired specifically Christian considerations where we can get an intuition of the
more fundamental motives underlying them. The Christian priesthood can be
understood only in the light of the newness of Christ. Christ instituted the priesthood.
Jesuswas sent by the Father into the world and became man. He introduced into the
world a new form of life. Matrimony continues the work of the first creation.
Christian couples walk together toward their heavenly mutual love. Christ was made
mediator between heaven and earth. Christ remained throughout his whole life in the
state of celibacy for dedication to the service of Godand men. Jesus wished the first
ministers of salvation to be coworkers with God, and to be friends. He also... Show

By doing this he is able to grow in faith and he is better at listening to the word of
God and praying. God is always present in a priest. Christ s minister receives joy
and encouragement from the Divine Office. The minister dedicates his voice to
the Church and who is his spouse. He continues to grow in faith and to continue
praying which is a priests duty. Although a priest is dedicated to the church and
God he also has another life. The priest brings himself together with the offering,
and places on the altar his entire life. Doing this beared the marks of the holocaust.
The Apostle Paul sacrificed himself for God. He wanted to put his faith in God.
This gives a priest glory. The priest is a symbol of Christ, he expands hope and
faith in christians. With christ you will be able to have a fuller life. The kingdom of
God is present on earth in mystery, it is not perfect alone, but it is with the Lord. The
Church is the beginning of the kingdom. The church is still growing, and wants to
unite all people with the
Monitoring Sanitary Quality Of Water
Introduction
Problem: Monitoring sanitary quality of water in freezie production
Water possess prime importance in freezie production as a major ingredients as
well as a suitable medium for microbial contamination. In production of freezies,
Kisko Products utilizes water as a main constituent of recipe. Water is also used in
cleaning of freezies as well as washing of side pumps for their easy movement. Kisko
Products uses the water supplied from municipality with its treatment for softening. A

In developed country consumers are aware about the way of process, production and
distribution of food and food products. They are increasingly demanding the
producers to ensure the safety and quality of the products. Thus, increased demand of
consumers for fresh, natural and safe food pressed the processors to maintain sanitary
and phyto sanitary quality of their produces. Effective cleaning and thorough
sanitation are the way to prevent contamination of food products by microorganism.
However, in modern practice good manufacturing and hygienic practices and
application of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points principles in the
production processes are the key implemental factors considered by the food
producers to ensure the quality of their products (US FDA, 2004).
As a major ingredient, cleaning stuffs, and accessory constituent water plays an
important role in the quality of freezies. Sourcing of highest quality water and
maintaining its microbiological quality are mandatory tasks for the beverage and
juice industry. Food and beverage producers exert their best efforts to maintain the
water quality in providing safe and quality products to the consumers. The producers
themselves set the own standards of water quality for their quality production as well
as to maintain the standards of most regulatory authorities. FDA recommendation is
to use water that an analytical unit has a most probable number
Why Was The Incas Successful
The Incas ruled a large portion of South America for just shy of one hundred years,
from 1438 until 1532. There are two main reasons why the Incas were successful.
Although they were successful rulers, they were not prepared for the European
invaders. The farming methods the Incas implemented at the time were revolutionary.
They grew their crops are in a controlled climate. The method they used was a
circular design in which the circles would get deeper. The deeper the circle, the cooler
the crops. The highest circle was the warmest. The idea was climate controlled crops
via the sun. Which means that once the sun set, the crops still retained the warmth of
the sun allowing them to continue to grow. The Incas implemented thIs method on

Stephanie Bennett Regional Theatre Analysis
What is the Role and Function of Theatre in a Regional City?
To me, regional theatre means home, something that is part of me and brings culture
to where I live. I have lived in 3 different cities in England, each of them being
completely different. Personally, I believe that theatre emphasises culture and
difference in a regional city. Stephanie Bennett explains The beauty of regional
theatre is that the local performances are often raw and visceral in their authenticity
(2016), this stood out to me because I believe it states what regional theatre is about.
What does it mean to be a regional city?
Lyn Gardner Explains in her article In theatre is regional a dirty word? (2012) that

Lyn Gardner talks on an experience in York when a cast of 180 people from the
community marched around York in honour of the soldiers in World War One. She
goes on to explain Angels stopped the traffic; people got up from their seats on
buses so they could see what was going on; children played around the edges as if it
were the most natural thing in the world. People hurrying by suddenly slowed,
stopped and smiled. (2013) this is the real and true definition of regional theatre and
the power it has to make a whole community watch and feel the performance.
The word theatre has so much meaning behind it and its obvious to see that by just
simply going to two different theatres and comparing the two, each theatre has a
different role and function. This shows that there is so many different roles and
functions with one regional city. There would be no point in regional theatre if it just
had one purpose throughout. That s what makes regional theatre so unique and
different to the rest.
Is there theatre that can only be performed in its regional

The Principles Of Scientific Management Focus On
Increasing
The principles of scientific management focus on increasing employees productivity
and efficiency. After joining the industry, Taylor identified three fundamental
characteristics of the industry that contributed to its inefficiency. Their identification
facilitated the development of the basic principles of scientific management, which
guided Taylor in eliminating waste, increasing productivity, and efficiency. The
elimination of waste functioned because of the systematization of production process,
systematization of tools, standardization of work and the wage incentive all created
to increase productivity (Tompkins, 2005). According to Tompkins (2005), monetary
incentive remains a practicable option, which public agencies utilize to... Show more

Taylor s theory was more applicable to manufacturing industry than the current
service industry, hence why it needs modification. He did not foresee the future of
service industry and telecommuting jobs. Telecommuting jobs are currently
increasing in availability and popularity. These jobs require innovative skills,
promote managerial flexibility, autonomy, and use high level of technology, which do
not demand physical power like manufacturing industry. Presently, more companies
have shifted their focus from extrinsic motivation to intrinsic motivation, which
matches the needs of today s workforce. Nowadays companies employ different
motivation strategies to motivates their employees. For example, they use job
rotation, job enlargement, and empowerment, which Taylor did not mention. Job
rotation is a temporary switching of job assignments, while job enlargement is
increasing the variety and number of tasks within a job (DuBrin, 2011). Based on the
above argument, the theory s problem is its failure to utilize other motivation
strategies like job rotation, job enlargement, and empowerment.
Recommendations
There are several ways of improving the scientific management theory to suit today s
workforce. For instance, companies can use job rotation, job enlargement, employee
empowerment, and telecommuting. Job rotation provides an exceptional opportunity

Describe Hurricane Katrina Beginning in the 1950s, the United States have witnessed
two Category Five Storms and seven Category Four Storms naming Hurricane
Katrina as one of the most deadly Category Four hurricanes to hit the Gulf Coast. On
August 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina dismantled several sections of the levee which
caused it to collapse. The storm then breeched the New Orleans levee system
allowing Lake Ponchartrain and the Mississippi River to flow in the heart of the city.

After Hurricane Katrina, ten months later, jobs plummeted to an average loss of
95,000. During the month of November 2005, employment had dropped to
105,300 below the previous year s figure. (Dolfman pg. 7) Furthermore, Hurricane
Karina in doubt did cause more damage to the economy than expected. The
hurricane affected 19% of U.S. oil production. (Dolfman pg. 7) Hurricane Katrina
completely destroyed 113 offshore oil and gas platforms, occurs damages to457
oil and gas pipelines, and spilled as much oil compared to the Exxon Valdez oil
disaster. This devastating event caused oil prices to increase $3 a barrel, and gas
prices sky rocketed to $5 a gallon. (Dolfman pg. 7) Lastly, Hurricane Katrina s
impact struck Louisiana s sugar industry, totaling an estimate of $500 million in
annual crop value. (Amadeo) There are two main concepts to prevent another
devastating event as Hurricane Katrina which are plan/prepare and thorough disaster

shall prepare and practice for crisis as such. When everyone knows which critical
functions are required for restoration then this could provide a tremendous amount of
confidence in life threatening situations. The very basic principles of planning we all
should be familiar with could save the lives of millions. Next, conducting thorough

Perestroika And Glasnost
How Perestroika/Glasnost Helped the Dissolution of the Soviet Union
Perestroika and glasnost played an important part in shaping today s Russia by its role
in the dissolution of the U.S.S.R. Perestroika was the reconstruction of the
Communist party and the economy, which Mikhail Gorbachev thought would fix the
economic mess he came into. Perestroika also loosened government control over
individual enterprises and businesses. Gorbachev also introduced glasnost which
released government information and allowed more people to openly give their
opinion about the Soviet government. In the book Russia s Sputnik Generations by
Donald Raleigh, there are many interviews with people who grew up in the Soviet

The main gangs in the Outsiders are the Greasers and the Socs. They have their
differences and their similarities. The greaser act the same as all of the other
greasers. And the Socs all act the same and dress the same as the other Socs. The
gangs in this book can get really violent. They go from punching each other to
attacking each other with blades. A blade is kinda like a knife and a pocketknife in
one. It seems like being a part of a gang can be rough.
The Socs are not poor at all. They are the rich and popular gang. They think they
are way better than the greasers. Socs usually wear nice shoes with some type of
plaid shirt and khakis. They are considered attractive and very rough and tough.
They are kind of the bad guys in this novel. They do not take drugs or rob any stores
but they are good at picking fights. Over all the Socs are pretty mean people to the
Essay On Starvation In America
Starvation in America is heavily used when you also hear donations but have you
actually sat down and looked into the problem? What causes it, and what we can
actually do to help people? Is there really a way to stop people from starving?
Starvation mainly occurs in southern states such as, New mexico, Arizona and
Mississippi. Starvation, also known as food insecurity, is defined as suffering or
death caused by hunger but it is more than that. It is going most days without food
not knowing if it is going to kill you or not. Starvation is a serious problem not only
in the united states but in other countries too.

Thomas Paine Common Sense
Context:
In result of The Seven Years War Britain controlled American trade and territory. In
order to pay for the expenses of the war several taxation acts and military presence
were implemented such as the Sugar Act, Stamp Act, Currency Act, Quartering Act
and the presence of British troops at the colonies. Consequently, Americans who
thought these actions violated their political and constitutional liberties opposed
these policies with petitions, boycotts, and resistance strategies known as the
Imperial Crisis. In January 1776 Thomas Paine s Common Sense was composed to
convince Americans of the need for independence from British rule and establishment
of democracy. This pamphlet... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He argues that a democratic system based on continual elections and rights of the
people protected by a written constitution would be more beneficial to society. To
strengthen the concept of democracy, Paine speaks of a hypothetical society brought
up in an isolated part of the world, away from other inhabitants. This supposed society
represented the first people. Thomas Paine claims that some of its people will have
many accomplishments other will not; thus through hunger, disease, misfortune and
death it is inevitable that the people will set up some form of government that ...will
establish a common interest with every part of the community, they will mutually and
naturally support each other, and on this (not on the unmeaning name of king)
depends the strength of government, and the happiness of the governed (Thomas
Paine, Common Sense). This statement reassures his beliefs towards democracy
while showing how pointless English rule is to society. Thomas Paine is attempting
to promote American independence with this document by explaining the benefits of
democracy, in doing so he is demeaning the English government. Paine emphasizes
the prejudices the English may have had by stating, And as a man, who is attached to
a prostitute, is unfitted to choose

A Brief Note On Down The Drain It Goes
Down the Drain it Goes We have come to the conclusion that there is no more fresh
water on the earth and that there is no potable water, says a news reporter. The
earth could eventually end up like this. How much of the earth contains
freshwater? Will the earth ever run out of water? If so, how long from now will we
run out of water? What effects could this cause? All of these questions are ones that
interest me greatly and that I would like to know the answers to. After taking an
environmental science class in high school, I already had some prior knowledge on
some areas of this topic. This knowledge includes learning about how much water
there is on the earth. The part of the earth that is water is known as the hydrosphere

Likewise, I often hear about the topics of water scarcity on the news and in articles
and they bring up countries having water issues, so it encouraged me to find out
more about the topic and to hopefully get my questions answered. While having
many tools available for me to find secondary research for my topic, the easiest and
closest source was my school s library database. On my school s library website,
there is a search generator for looking up articles, books, journals, and anything
you can read. This database was very helpful when it came to looking for
secondary resources. All I needed to do was type in a few key words, and then
read through the options that were given to me based on what I was looking for.
After researching and looking through the data, I found some great articles about
my topic on the fresh water on earth. However, I did have to search a few different
key words and questions to find exactly what I was looking for. I explored things
such as water scarcity, fresh water on earth, will the earth run out of water?, and
how long from now will the earth run out of water?. All of these searches led to
many different articles which then became my secondary sources which I could use
to help answer my questions. I had to read through more than three articles, even
though I needed at least three articles, to decide which ones seemed the most reliable
and well written. My first
Eating Tamales For Christmas In Latino Culture
Latino families have a tradition to eat tamales for Christmas. Although for
Americans, Christmas in on December 25, but for us we celebrate it on Christmas
Eve, December 24. This is one of the most significant events for our Latino
community. It s a time to bring families together and spend a special day filled with
lots of joy and love. Christmasis very memorialized because it represents the birth of
Jesus. However, I m Christian Evangelist and we don t exactly believe this. This is
because never in the Bible did it say He was born on December 25, but maybe
around that time. In addition, Christmas is very significant to our culture, and that is
the reason why we eat such a symbolic food on this special day.

But, the meal is not even close to being finished. We still had to prepare the dough
which would cover everything that will go inside it. Sweet peppers, potatoes,
pieces of chicken, cooked tomatoes, and so much more ingredients are being
prepared. To make the tamales you have to go through so many steps. First, you
have to get the corn husk which is what the tamale will be wrapped around with.
Next, you have to cook the dough which is going to keep everything together. The
dough cannot be too soft or too hard. If the dough is too hard it means it was over
cooked, but if its too soft it wasn t cooked enough. While everything is being made,
the dough has to be laying on top of the corn husk. Then, you have to cook the
chicken. The chicken most be very hot, soft, and warm for it to go into the tamale.
Cutting the vegetables going inside the tamale is one of the most important parts.
Since the chicken is being cooked in the oven for about an hour you have to get
everything else ready. This is because when the chicken is done cooking the rest of
the tamale most be done. However, the tamale won t be done after you put the
chicken into it. You must cut the vegetables small so they fit in the dough. You can t
cut them too big or too

Northern Ireland
Diplomacy does not happen overnight, and the true tale of hardship and bickering
over Northern Ireland is proof of that. Ireland and England failed to agree on who
held the power of Northern Ireland for over 30 years until the Good Friday
Agreement, a form of diplomacy between the countries, took place. Before that time,
many soldiers and innocent citizens of Northern Irelandlost their lives. Religious
fights broke out between Catholic and Protestant residents. Political figures from
countries like Wales and the United States came together to help put an end to the
bitter relations of the European countries (Delaney). After many years of hard

After one year, the death toll was 300, and after 10 years the number of people
who had been killed from the fighting was a gruesome 1, 932 (Holland 196). Many
of the victims were innocent people who were not partaking in the fights in any
way. The killers of these innocent people were never caught or punished (Graham).
After several years of fighting Jack Holland expressed what he was witnessing as
there has already been much crying about Northern Ireland (Holland 1). Even the
governments were aiming their weapons at each other. The Irish Republic Army
killed a British soldier, creating a substantial amount of tension between the two

brought together over the ordeal concerning Northern Ireland. During the early
1990s, British Prime Minister John Major worked with Ireland s Ahern to achieve
peace between them. All attempts at peace failed overall. United States President
Bill Clinton worked with Ireland, Britain, and Northern Ireland to acquire the peace
they were hoping for (Graham). It was not until Tony Blair became Prime Minister
that things began to fall into place. Britain s George Mitchell held the skill and

Analysis Of The Passage By Dalton Trumbo
ВЁParents act so strong for us, that we often forget just how fragile they are.ВЁ As
we grow we often find ourselves not spending as much of our free time with our
parents as we had when we could barely speak a sentence without having bad
grammar. This maturing state is something all of us experience. We become more
interactive with sports, friends, relationships, and we forget who gave us this
wonderful life. In the following stories of ВЁ The PassageВЁ, ВЁThrough the
TunnelВЁ , and ВЁAmerican HistoryВЁ the author utilizes dialogue to indicate the
disconnection from their parents in the journey to adulthood.
In the story The Passage By Dalton Trumbo, the author portrays coming of age and
the beginning of a new chapter in life through the dialogue between the
protagonist, Joe, and his father. The bond between Joe and his father is exhibited
as very stable and happy. Their bond displays the attachment every adolescent
acquires with their parents; as we learn almost everything basic to life from our
parents. This short story suggests that at one period in time we start to grow out of
adolescence into young adults and begin to detach from our forever known
guardians and heroes. We begin to mature and become more distracted with friends,
school, sports, etc.. Joe, in this short story, depicts this detachment from our parents
as we grow for example in paragraph two: Now he was 15 and Bill Harper was going
to come tomorrow... Tomorrow for the first time in all their trips
Uncle Tom s Cabin, By Harriet Beecher Stowe
Uncle Tom s Cabin, written by Harriet Beecher Stowe, came to be one of the most
influential antislavery books of the century. People claim Abraham Lincoln said it
started the Civil War when he greeted Harriet Beecher Stowe in 1862 by saying So
you re the little woman who wrote the book that started this great war. Its anti slavery
message, in response to the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850, sparked revolutionary levels
of serious differences throughout the North and South, serving as an advocate for
sectional conflict.
The emotional novel portrays the reality of slavery while also proclaiming that
Christian love can conquer something as damaging as enslavement of other humans.
Uncle Tom s Cabin diaries the life and death of the main character, a black slave
known for his reliability and Christian virtue and stories of other character revolved
around him. Uncle Tom begins as a Christ like figure who loves God, his tormentors,
turns the other cheek, and shows inhuman self control in the face of cruelty, but is
later transformed into the perfect, silver haired, unspeaking stalwart servant. Another
character in the novel was Adolph Dolph, Augustine St. Clare s personal slave, who

Kritios Boy Contrapposto
The term contrapposto refers to an Italian word meaning counterpoise, and it is
used to in the visual arts industry to illustrate a human figure standing with most of
its weight on one foot so that its shoulders and arms twist off axis from the hips
and the legs . It was an essential sculptural development since it involves the use of
the human body in the western art to express physiological disposition. One of the
legs is responsible for carrying the weight, and it is called the engaged leg while the
relaxed leg is referred to as the free leg. Besides, contrapposto creates an illusion of
movement in the past and the future. It is possible that the Kritios Boy with its

In contrast to a Common Stock, a company may choose to issue Preferred Stock to
raise capital. Preferred Stock represents a hybrid in the sense that it is an equity
interest with certain features resembling debt. Buyers of these shares have special
status in the event the underlying company encounters financial trouble. A typical
preferred shareholder doesn t vote on the composition of the company s board or
other matters. They are more interested in receiving regular dividends, since these
dividends do not fluctuate based on the company s profits; each preferred
shareholder is entitled to a fixed amount at certain periods, just so long as the
company has the money to do so. Dividends are, also, paid to preferred
stockholders before they are paid to common stockholders. Preferred stock is
issued with a specific dividend rate. The dividend rate may be stated as a dollar
amount or as a percentage of the par value. When dividends are paid, preferred
stockholders are paid the amount applicable to their class of preferred stock. Several
advantages to issuing preferred stock include: no dilution of management s interest in
corporate growth or in voting power (if non voting preferred stock is issued), and
predictable dividend payments and preferences upon liquidation (for which investors
may pay a premium). Although, disadvantages include: a

Alex Grothendieck was born on March 28, 1928 in Berlin, Germany. He was one of
the famous mathematicians born in the 20th century. Alex began to love mathematics
in 1942, when he attended a secondary school in Chambon, France. When World

fascination with math and become a mathematics teacher. He received a scholarship

Grothendiecks parents moved away from him in 1933 to fight in the Spanish civil

never heard anything more on his mother. (The Famous People website.) In the
mathematical years of Grothendiek, he did not face many challenges in his life.
One of the main reasons why he left IHES, was because of military funding
problems. After all, Grothendieck was the son of an antimilitarist anarchist and he
grew up very poor. This is why he grew up having compassion for the poor. He also
left because he got so tired which led to the problem of losing interest in what he
was teaching at IHES. By the late 1960 s, he became interested in science. David

on asking him about the study of physics. (Astrology and Horoscope Website.) He
was also into talking about the war, politics, and the Military. He did agree to attend

about the war. All of his followers became irritated with him. He then wanted to
destroy everything he had ever written about math. (The Amazing Grothendiek.)

Running head: UNIONS IN HEALTHCARE Unions in Healthcare Rashod Helton
HLTH 5020 Organizational Planning and Change in Health Administration Dr.
Angela Woods Johnson Webster University May 7, 2015 Introduction Healthcare
professionals have gone on numerous strikes to express their disdain and
dissatisfaction with issues regarding work or the work place environment and the
neglect of needs by management. Healthcare professionals contest and protest health
service organizations through union protest to have their voices heard and their
demands met. Management of these health service organizations, in turn, fight losing
battles with the unions because there is not much they can do under extenuating
federal laws and circumstances but to lessen the protesting and come to a consensus
with the healthcare professionals demands. Outraged by the protesting and infuriated
by the actions of the union, management unanimously wants the unions annihilated
for good because they have too much govern and voice in their health service
organizations and feel as though the union is a potent threat to their very survival.
While tensions continuously rise between healthcare professionals and health service
organizations, patients are being neglected and often times defray the higher cost for
lesser quality of care, horrible access and questionable and deniable services during
this time. Is it fair that the patients defray higher costs so companies can pay

Titration Investigation Essay examples
Titration Investigation
Aim:
The aim of my investigation is to determine the solubility of calcium Hydroxide

Titration can be defined as the method of determining the concentration of a
substance in solution by adding to it a standard reagent of known concentration in
carefully measured amounts until a reaction of definite and known proportion is
completed, as shown by a color change or by electrical measurement, and then
calculating the unknown concentration.

From the pH at the equivalence point, the dissociation constant of the acidic or basic
group can be determined (see chemical equilibrium). If a compound contains several
different acidic or basic groups, the titration curve will show several sigmoid shaped
curves like steps and the dissociation constant of each group can be obtained from the
pH at its corresponding equivalence point.
I have now explained the basis of the Titration methodology; I will now have to
choose the appropriate compounds in order to make sure that the experiment is
carried out in the appropriate manner. I will now display a table containing the
different compunds for my availability:

Strong alkali
Weak alkali
Hydrochloric acid
Ethanoic acid
Sodium Hydroxide
Ammonia solution
Nitric acid
Ethandioic acid
Potassium Hydroxide
Sodium Catbonate
Sulphuric acid
Calcium Hydroxide

This table will aid us into the right choice of indicator. The reason for doing so is
that some aspects of the Titration process have to be very accurate. Depending upon
the strength of an alkali and acid the right indicator is chosen:

A Positive Team Motivation Plan
In today s business world, each business organization has a diverse workforce and
each worker has specific motivations and emotions. An effective manager understands
the challenges involved in creating a workplace that combines the employees
motivations, satisfactions, and performance into a cohesive and effective workforce.
A manager must develop a plan encompassing the employees motivation, satisfaction,
and performance. It is essential that the plan includes both the managers and
employees perceptions to ensure that all viewpoints are incorporated into the plan for

The aggression shown by a Pioneer can be a negative leadership trait when dealing
with subordinates or other team members considered to be cautious or steady and
the aggressiveness can alienate other team members or employees. Joyce would be
considered to be an interactive style person who enjoys and emphasizes people,
enjoys other people s approval, and is very trusting of others. Her personality style
works well in a dynamic, exciting group or team and has a short attention span while
working on a project.
If I were to manage or work with Joyce, I would need to be aware that even though
both of our personalities enjoy a faster pace within the workplace, Joyce will tend to
emphasize relationships whereas I will place a priority on goals (University of
Phoenix, 2011).
The differences in emphasis will directly affect how we perceive the tasks and our
motivations for completing the task that may cause conflict between us. The DISC
assessment is a great tool that any manager can use to help identify his or her
leadership style and motivations and can use the information provided within the
assessment to help identify reasons for conflict with other team members or
subordinates.
Understanding Emotions Understanding the emotions within a team is also an
essential aspect of being a leader and team member. Learning Team D members work
well together even though we have different personalities because the entire team has
a high emotional intelligence
Comparing Canadian Federal Political Parties
The social media campaigns of the Canadian Federal Political Parties (Liberal,
Conservative, and NDP) have been compared to one another in an attempt to
understand their choices made to persuade audiences to take part in actively
addressing and supporting their campaigns. Concepts discussed throughout this
course have been applied to the three varying campaigns, including attention, earned
media, branding, spreadability, intended audience, tone, navigation, and participation.
These aspects have been prominent in all three social media campaigns and thus,
have been chosen for this case analysis. Repurposing All three Political Parties post
statuses and advertisements in English and French. This dualism that they
demonstrate is done to target both, Anglophones and Francophones and reach a
wider audience. This choice of theirs plays on the concept of repurposing for
different cultures. Another aspect of repurposing focuses on altering the campaign to
match different seasons, time periods as holidays and events differ. Keeping this
element of repurposing in mind, the Liberal party posted an image in the celebration
of International Women s Day. The image consists of many women holding their
hands and giving the Liberals a thumbs up to support this cause and a quote saying,
Canada needs more women from diverse backgrounds making decisions in Ottawa.
Because when women succeed, we all succeed. The Conservatives did not use
repurposing in any way to support this event.

How To Be A Better Essay Writer

  • 1. How To Be A Better Essay Writer Writing an essay on the topic of improving one's essay writing skills can be a paradoxical challenge. On one hand, the subject matter seems straightforward—after all, who better to offer advice on essay writing than someone who writes essays? However, the difficulty lies in the self- reflection and critical analysis required to identify and articulate one's own strengths and weaknesses as a writer. It's akin to trying to dissect your own thought processes while simultaneously navigating the intricacies of language and structure. Furthermore, the task demands a level of honesty and vulnerability that can be uncomfortable. Admitting shortcomings in one's writing abilities requires humility and a willingness to confront areas for improvement. This introspective journey can be both enlightening and frustrating, as it often involves confronting deeply ingrained habits and confronting the possibility of failure. Additionally, there's the challenge of balancing practical advice with personal anecdotes and insights. While it's essential to provide actionable tips for honing essay writing skills, it's equally important to infuse the essay with a sense of authenticity and relatability. Readers are more likely to engage with and learn from the material if they feel a connection to the author's experiences and struggles. In essence, writing an essay on how to become a better essay writer requires navigating a maze of self-awareness, humility, and effective communication. It's a journey that demands introspection, vulnerability, and a commitment to growth. And while the process may be daunting, the rewards—both personal and academic—are well worth the effort. • 3. Examples Of Three Times When I Have Been Afraid Three Times When I Have Been Afraid Every person everywhere has experienced fear. Whether it is a car crash, a bad grade, or getting pulled over by a cop; everyone has a moment in their life where they have been afraid. The three times in my life where I have been extremely afraid were when I sank a sailboat, started a brush fire, and crashed my car. The first example is the time my dad and I sunk a sailboat. The day before the fourth of July my family and I went on a Vacation to Hilton Head Island. While we were on the beach, my dad and I decided to rent a sailboat with some of our friends. My dad gave the unexperienced lifeguard forty five dollars for thirty minutes of sailing time. The lifeguard helped us put the boat in the water and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Soon the whole neighborhood was crowding around the retention pond. A couple of minutes went by, and the fire truck arrived. The firemen went to work putting out the fire which ended up only feet away from the woods. My last example involved a serious car crash. I had just received my driver s license a week before this day of the wreck. My mom wanted me to drive to the other side of town and drop something off to one of her friends. When I arrived her friend was just getting ready to leave. I gave him my mom s item and went on my way as he left out the neighborhood behind me. I came to a stop sign and I admittedly was not paying very much attention to what I was doing. I looked one way, but not the other and began to make a left hand turn across traffic. Once I realized what was about to happen, it was too late. I had pulled out in front of a moving truck, and it plowed into me on the driver s side door. The force of the impact pushed me into a ditch across the road into oncoming traffic. I was frozen in fear and didn t know what to do. Luckily my mom s friend saw the whole thing and raced over to the car to help me. I had already climbed out of the car, and he helped me call my mom. The police arrived shortly before my parents did and asked for my drivers and registration. I told him what happened and he filed an accident report. My family arrived glad to see I was not hurt in any way. The tow
  • 4. First Battle Of Hoxington Research Paper The First Battle of Lexington How would you feel if you found yourself on a battlefield firing red hot cannon shots at moving hay bales? This is exactly what soldiers did in the First Battle of Lexington. This battle was not as tiresome as the battles of Bull Run or other battles and under 200 casualties from both sides combined came out of this battle. The First Battle of Lexington, which is located in Missouri, surprisingly also known as the Battle of the Hemp Bales or the Siege of Lexington, was fought for eight tedious days in 1861. From September 12 to September 20 the Union army and the pro Confederate Missouri state guard in Lexington furiously clashed with muskets canons, bayonets and hemp bales. The Missouri state guard was a militia of approximately 25000 Confederate soldiers, although not all of these soldiers were used in this battle. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After the victory at the Battle of Boonville Nathaniel Lyon, who was the first Union general to be killed in the Civil War, ordered the United States 5th regiment to occupy Lexington. Upon arrival Charles G. Stifel instructed the men to start destroying boats that could be used to cross the wide Missouri River. He also commanded the soldiers to collect any resources they found. Surprisingly they collected six cannons and 200 kegs of powder. Confederate General Sterling Price began fighting at Lexington on September 12 when two federal companies commenced firing upon them in the middle of their Cavalry advance. Price retreated to allow for his sluggish artillery to meet them in order that they might aid advancement. Price s artillery forced the enemy to rush to the safety of beyond the vast plains. The artillery advanced once again and met the state guard in a two and a half hour duel. Price crushed the Union forces which forced them to retreat. Price decided against chasing the enemy in order to wait for the ammunition transport
  • 5. American Montage Exhibition Essay Leading our way the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, I toured the exhibit, American Montage. American Montage made its big appearance of the work of Brooklyn based artist, Adam Cvijanovic. From the previous fifteen years, this exhibition highlights establishment and extensive scale canvases on Tyvek s shoal. Cvijanovic s enthusiasm for nineteenth century landscape art is represented in the American Montage. Walking into Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, I was immediately drawn towards Adam Cvijanovic s exhibit. Cvijanovic s exhibit included art pieces such as: Flint Hills, Discovery of America, Childhood of Buster Keaton, and my favorite, Belshazzar s feast. Noted in each Contemporary style art piece, Cvijanovic included landscape imagery. Each of Cvijanovic s pieces contained visual feel, textural paint scheme, shadowing, and a bright color palette. Belshazzar s feast appeared with deep hues of purple, dark shading, and the images appeared to fade away in the distance. This monument was said to have been standing sixteen feet tall, and consisted of nine separate panels. Belshazzar s feast appears to contain a scene from ancient Babylon. I can conduct this from the realistic appearance, and characteristics from the painting. Cvijanovic s technique for acquiring such a large crowd on the scene is his technique of layering. The embeddedness of each person... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I thought that was interesting because here recently I was able to tour that wonderful Museum as well. • 6. Reflection About My Personal Identity When I take a look beck on my lifetime, I see that I ve changed a great deal in regards to my personal identity. For me to put entirely into words on a paper would take me days to explain how and why things went the way they did, so I d like to shorten these feeling up. In my youth, I had clearly planned to take the superhero path through life. Professional athlete, firefighter, police officer, or basically anything portrayed in society as a model citizen, a class act if you will, all racing through my mind when thinking about my future. I was mistaking, and for good reason as I had these feelings until I was about ten years old. When the first year with two digits associated itself with my age, a certain maturity occurred. I wouldn t classify it as a life changing realization, but more of an assistant to my later discoveries. In the time I spent working with my father, albeit mostly masonry work, I began to ask questions with higher frequency. For myself, I wanted to further my knowledge, but at that time, I was really annoyed that I couldn t understand certain aspects to building such as why we used Weld Crete on all of our bluestone patios when it seemed that we were the only masons doing anything resemblant of our process. I continued to question my father about how our creations held up and why we did certain things that seemed unnecessary. Whether we were working on a fireplace, a patio, or a sprinkler system, I was never satisfied until I understood why we took one
  • 7. Robert Frost Influences Robert Frost Authors write poetry for many reasons including to prove a point, share life stories or to just make the reader think. Robert Frost is a great example of a poet influenced by his experiences. These influences show up in most of his poetry, but especially in The Road Not Taken , Stopping by Woods On a Snowy Evening , and Birches . Moving to the New Englandregion the nature and people helped him become a poet of worldly fame. Robert Frost was born in San Francisco, California on March 26, 1874. When his father died in 1885 he moved to Massachusetts with his mom and sister. He spent his whole life in the Massachusetts area. Frost attended high school in that state, and then Dartmouth College, but remained less than one semester (Michalowski). At the age of thirty eight, Frost decided to move his family to England. While in England his first book, A Boy s Will, was published in 1913. A few years later he returned to America where his second book, North of Boston, was published. (Michalowski) Massachusetts and other New England areas were the setting for the majority of Frost s poetry. The nature in the New England area played a big role in his life and influenced his poetry a lot. (Sweeny and Lindroth 7) The first poem, The Road Not Taken, by Robert Frost is one great piece. Frost s metaphorical comparison of the two roads reflected as ways and a journey in life. He
  • 8. The Arab-Israeli Conflict Essays The current conflict in the Middle East between the Israeli Jews and the Palestinian Arabs has many historical roots. Several events in the history of this conflict have been very important and also have a strong connection with the current situation between the two sides. One of these important events was the Nazi Holocaust. During the Second World War the Jews were persecuted by the Nazis and sent to concentration camps. By the end of the war in 1945 6 million Jews were killed and 250,000 were freed from the concentration camps. As news about the holocaust emerged there was widespread sympathy for the Jews especially in the U.S.A. which had a large Jewish population. As a result of this, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Six Day War of 1967 was a dramatic military victory for the Israelis. In just six days the Israeli army managed to take out most of the surrounding Arab state s air force and regained control of the land that was lost in previous battles. The Israelis had taken Sinai, the Gaza Strip, the West Bankand Jerusalem. The Golan Heights were also seized by the Israelis which is a very advantageous military spot because it is an area of high ground on the border of Israel and Syria. The Israelis came out of the war feeling proud and victorious that they managed to take on the three Arab countries by themselves. They were seen as the stronger military side by the rest of the world. The Arab states were left with little land or pride after the humiliation of the war. The PLO (Palestine Liberation Organisation) began to grow in size because the Palestinians were determined to fight for their homeland after this embarrassing defeat. In the following stories of ВЁ The PassageВЁ, ВЁThrough the TunnelВЁ , and ВЁAmerican HistoryВЁ the author utilizes dialogue to indicate the disconnection from their parents in the journey to adulthood. In the story The Passage By Dalton Trumbo, the author portrays coming of age and the beginning of a new chapter in life through the dialogue between the protagonist, Joe, and his father. The bond between Joe and his father is exhibited as very stable and happy. Their bond displays the attachment every adolescent acquires with their parents; as we learn almost everything basic to life from our parents. This short story suggests that at one period in time we start to grow out of adolescence into young adults and begin to detach from our forever known guardians and heroes. We begin to mature and become more distracted with friends, school, sports, etc.. Joe, in this short story, depicts this detachment from our parents as we grow for example in paragraph two: Now he was 15 and Bill Harper was going to come tomorrow... Tomorrow for the first time in all their trips

All of the large corporations could not have grown to their present size without being able to find innovative ways to raise capital to finance ultimate expansion. There are many ways this can be accomplished, but this review will take a look at just two ways: the issuance of Preferred Stock and selling of Common Stock. What exactly is a stock, anyway? Basically, stock is ownership, simple as that. Buy a share of APPLE Inc. and acquire a tiny sliver of the computer giant, tying the investments fate to that of the Chairman, for better or worse. In contrast to a Common Stock, a company may choose to issue Preferred Stock to raise capital. Preferred Stock represents a hybrid in the sense that it is an equity interest with certain features resembling debt. Buyers of these shares have special status in the event the underlying company encounters financial trouble. A typical preferred shareholder doesn t vote on the composition of the company s board or other matters. They are more interested in receiving regular dividends, since these dividends do not fluctuate based on the company s profits; each preferred shareholder is entitled to a fixed amount at certain periods, just so long as the company has the money to do so. Dividends are, also, paid to preferred stockholders before they are paid to common stockholders. Preferred stock is issued with a specific dividend rate. The dividend rate may be stated as a dollar amount or as a percentage of the par value. When dividends are paid, preferred stockholders are paid the amount applicable to their class of preferred stock. Several advantages to issuing preferred stock include: no dilution of management s interest in corporate growth or in voting power (if non voting preferred stock is issued), and predictable dividend payments and preferences upon liquidation (for which investors may pay a premium). Although, disadvantages include: a

Organizational Planning And Change Of Health Administration Running head: UNIONS IN HEALTHCARE Unions in Healthcare Rashod Helton HLTH 5020 Organizational Planning and Change in Health Administration Dr. Angela Woods Johnson Webster University May 7, 2015 Introduction Healthcare professionals have gone on numerous strikes to express their disdain and dissatisfaction with issues regarding work or the work place environment and the neglect of needs by management. Healthcare professionals contest and protest health service organizations through union protest to have their voices heard and their demands met. Management of these health service organizations, in turn, fight losing battles with the unions because there is not much they can do under extenuating federal laws and circumstances but to lessen the protesting and come to a consensus with the healthcare professionals demands. Outraged by the protesting and infuriated by the actions of the union, management unanimously wants the unions annihilated for good because they have too much govern and voice in their health service organizations and feel as though the union is a potent threat to their very survival. While tensions continuously rise between healthcare professionals and health service organizations, patients are being neglected and often times defray the higher cost for lesser quality of care, horrible access and questionable and deniable services during this time. Is it fair that the patients defray higher costs so companies can pay healthcare professionals

Titration can be defined as the method of determining the concentration of a substance in solution by adding to it a standard reagent of known concentration in carefully measured amounts until a reaction of definite and known proportion is completed, as shown by a color change or by electrical measurement, and then calculating the unknown concentration. Comparing Canadian Federal Political Parties The social media campaigns of the Canadian Federal Political Parties (Liberal, Conservative, and NDP) have been compared to one another in an attempt to understand their choices made to persuade audiences to take part in actively addressing and supporting their campaigns. Concepts discussed throughout this course have been applied to the three varying campaigns, including attention, earned media, branding, spreadability, intended audience, tone, navigation, and participation. These aspects have been prominent in all three social media campaigns and thus, have been chosen for this case analysis. Repurposing All three Political Parties post statuses and advertisements in English and French. This dualism that they demonstrate is done to target both, Anglophones and Francophones and reach a wider audience. This choice of theirs plays on the concept of repurposing for different cultures. Another aspect of repurposing focuses on altering the campaign to match different seasons, time periods as holidays and events differ. Keeping this element of repurposing in mind, the Liberal party posted an image in the celebration of International Women s Day. The image consists of many women holding their hands and giving the Liberals a thumbs up to support this cause and a quote saying, Canada needs more women from diverse backgrounds making decisions in Ottawa. Because when women succeed, we all succeed. The Conservatives did not use repurposing in any way to support this event.
