Slavery, a World History
Slavery, an issue some would say is complicated. So what exactly is slavery? What does it mean? And
how did it come to be? These are complex questions that are often asked and possibly, by
understanding the forms it takes and the roles such slaves performed. What daily life is like for those
enchained and what can be done to end this demeaning practice may help in answering those
questions. It is known that slavery is a system under which people are treated as property to be bought,
sold and are forced to work. It is also known that slavery was established in the history and economy
of most countries. Even though it prospered during some periods and abstained in others, human
bondage for profit has unfortunately, never been completely removed. Author Milton Meltzer, in his
book Slavery, A World History follows this practice from prehistoric hunting societies; through the
development of slave trading in the United States prior to the Civil War, it disturbingly reached a total
number of four million slaves. He continues through the forced labor applied under the Nazi
establishment and in the Soviet prison camps. And he concludes with the broad practice of slavery in
many of the countries today, examples to include, women sold into prostitution in Thailand and the
debt bondage that minors endure in Brazil.
Many are often shocked to learn that historians have considered slavery as a step forward in the
development of civilization. From the earliest times, it was customary

The Ethics Of Executions Should Be Legal
The Ethics of Executions Over the past 10 years, more death row inmates have preferred execution to
facing seemingly endless years of appeals, states an ABC News article (Robinson). With the ever
increasing number of executions, the controversial debate over the legality of capital punishment
creates a divide within the population. A wedge that separates the people who support capital
punishment is one complicated question: what role should a doctor play in executions? Doctors should
be advocates for their patients no matter what the circumstances. Despite the infraction of American
Medical Association (AMA) policy, it is important for a licensed medical professional with the correct
knowledge and experience to monitor the execution. While a doctor should be on the scene in case of
emergency, they should not play an active role in executions as is the policy in Texas and other states.
The first thing to remember is that all doctors must adhere to the Hippocratic Oath which requires
them to do no harm to their patients. However, the bounds of this oath are widely debated on cases
that span Do Not Resuscitate directives, physician assisted suicide, executions, and anything that
results in the death of a patient. In the case of executions, AMA policy states that it is unethical for
doctors to be involved except in a peripheral way (Tanner). The AMA s stance prohibits doctors from
supervising or contributing in any way even if it is to help ease the inmate s pain

How Does Darcy Present Elizabeth Bennet s Marriage
First, The most significant marriage of the novel depicts the ideal vision of the bride Elizabeth Bennet.
Her ideal vision of what a marriage should be was one where the bride and groom had true love for
each other, as well as a mutual respect, and a intellectual connection that far surpassed a physical one.
Elizabeth had no social status or assets. This was an obstacle that Darcy had to overcome throughout
the book. He was constantly influenced by his family and those around him of equal or similar social
status that he should marry someone with some sort of power. However Elizabeth had to overcome her
prejudice towards the upper class, and understand Darcy for who he really was herself. Instead of
listening to and believing others opinions and gossip. This marriage clearly fits the description of its
bride s ideal marriage.
Next, George and Lydia s marriage was used to save Lydia and the Bennet family reputation. When
Lydia and George run away out of wedlock this potentially ruins the other Bennet sisters chance at
marrying into the upper class. Mrs. Bennet then manipulates the marriage although George is in severe
debt. Ultimately sacrificing one of her daughters in hope that one of the others may succeed. ... Show

Cloud Computing Research Paper
Cloud Computing Research Paper Introduction Cloud computing is revolutionizing the use software
globally at a very rapid pace as it is completely redefining the economics of how software is
purchased and used. Web 2.0 technologies and their underlying design precepts are responsible for the
current and future generations of social networks (Bernoff, Li, 2008). Both have immediate and
significant impacts on the operations of businesses and the major contributions each makes are
explained in this analysis. Analysis of the Business Uses of the Cloud and Web 2.0 Technologies
Cloud computing has drastically reordered the economics of how every size and type of business uses
software. For the large enterprise there is no longer the need to go through an extensive capital
expense (CAPEX) budgeting process, often involving the board of directors of a business (Aljabre,
2012). Cloud computing software is often pad for through operating expense (OPEX) budgets, which
shifts the control of its budgeting to the line of business managers or those managers and executives
responsible for a given business unit. This dynamic alone has completely reordered the enterprise
software market, as cloud based applications can often be modified significantly faster than on
premise applications (Lin, Chen, 2012). As a result of this flexibility, enterprises, medium size and
small businesses are all relying on cloud based applications to automate those process areas that had
been expensive and

My Lai Massacre Research Paper
My Lai Massacre In the town of My Lai on March 16, 1968 was not a day you would be wanting to
visit. U.S troops were ordered to conduct a massacre killing 500 plus innocent old men, women, and
children. We were too do this in the command of Lt. William L. This massacre included of burning of
the villages and poisoning the wells to wipe everything out that belonged to the enemy. Including all
live stock, the village was to be burnt to nothing.Lieutenant Calley was the one who was in charge of
this getting done and made it happen. When they got to the village they came to discover there was
mostly women and children so they killed them. They would also kill the babies with pistols. We also
hear that the soldiers would rape the young women. During this time at the village there was not one

Goal Cash Management
)
The of goal cash management is to minimize the amount of cash the business must hold to conduct its
normal activities while having sufficient cash on hand to support operations (Gapenski, L. C., Reiter,
K. L., 2016, p 601). Short term investments may offer minimal returns but cash offers zero. The point
is to get the most return on funds and have only the minimum cash on hand.
Float is the difference between the balance sheet on a business s checkbook and the balance shown on
the bank s books (p 602). This difference is due to the delay in processing of the checks written or the
checks received. Receipt accelerations are processes to increase the speed of processing check
payments. Two examples are lockboxes and automated clearing houses (p 603). Lockboxes are
regional post office boxes where payments are sent and geographically processed to decrease delays in
transit. Lockboxes can increase the availability of funds by 1 3 days. Automated clearing house is a
communication network that send data from one bank to another. This allows immediate electronic
transfer of funds instead of paper checks (p 604).
Distribution control is controlling the outflow of cash. This control is limited by ethical issues in the
delay of payments and the potential loss of timely payment discounts. One method to control
distribution is a zero balance account. A zero balance account is a bank account have a zero balance.
Funds are transferred from a master account as needed to cover checks

Prokaryotes And Eukaryotes Similarities
Cells are the basic structural and functional unit of all living organisms. Cells are the smallest form of
life of which all forms of life are composed of one or more cells. All cells come from pre existing
cells. Two different of cells exist: Prokaryotes and Eukaryotes. They are structurally and functionally
different, but they share some properties. Some similarities are: methods of reproduction, cell division
by binary fission, mitosis or meiosis. The presence of DNA and RNA for protein synthesis, plasma is
the cell membrane and changes in temperature make these cells alike.
These two types of cells are different in other important ways. Eukaryotes have a nucleus surrounded
by a cell membrane. Prokaryotes have a nuclear region not surrounded ... Show more content on

Prokaryotes are some of the smallest of all organisms. Due to its size, prokaryotes can get nutrients
quickly throughout the cell. Bacteria come in three shapes: rods, spirals or spheres. Some bacteria are
coccobacilli. These are short rods shaped between a cocci and bacilli. A comma shaped bacterium is
called a vibrio. A rigid wavy shaped rod is called spirilium. Spirochete is a corkscrew shaped rod.
Many bacteria have a distinct arrangement in grouping of cells. Such groups form when cells divide
without separating. Cocci can divide in one or more plane or random. Division in one plane is called
diplo or division in pairs. Chains of cocci are called strepto. Two planes of division is called tetrads.
Random division produces grape like clusters called staphylo. Bacilli divide only in one plane, but
they can be side by side or end to end.
Gram positive bacteria have a thick peptidoglycan layer and is located external to the cell membrane.
Helps in cell maintenance and contributes to acidic polysaccharides such as teichoic acid and
lipoteichoic acid. Gram negative bacteria have a thin layer of peptidoglycan. More complex layer that
provides cover that is anchored to the lipoprotein molecules of the peptidoglycan layer. This
membrane contains porin, which allows penetration of only small molecules. This serves as a defense
mechanism of large molecules such as

Louis Xiv Problems
France s Louis XIV was known as the Sun King and ruled longer than any other European sovereign;
he ruled for 72 years (Louis XIV, history.com). He took the Sun as a symbol of his absolute power,
and he believed that he stood in the center of the nation like the Sun in the solar system. He was the
son of Louis XIII and inherited the throne at the young age of five, but while he was still very young,
Cardinal Mazarin was the person who was really the ruler (Steingrad). He also created the well known
Versailles, which is an extravagant palace in Europe that was the symbol of his wealth and power, and
was also the most powerful ruler in French history. Louis XIV strengthened the army, economy, and
royal power to make France the leading power of Europe. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He over spent the country s money and used it all up on himself by creating his palace, Versailles.
Versailles is huge with acres of magnificent gardens and extravagant architecture. It cost about $2
billion during 1994 and it took 36,000 labors and 6000 horses to work on the palace. There were two
wings of the building plus the main building and it had about 2000 rooms (Beck, 521). Another
problem was that Louis had to fight in disastrous wars. In the beginning, he was succeeding and
winning the wars but eventually he decided to fight additional wars and his luck ran out (Beck, 522).
Towards the end of the 1680s, there was a European alliance that had formed to stop France. Since the
countries had joined together, the weaker countries could match France s strength because of the
dominating larger group of countries (Beck, 522). At this time, France had also been weakened by a
poor harvest and this brought suffering to the French people (Beck, 523). Louis XIV also imposed
new taxes to finance his many

The Invention Of The Engineer s Standpoint
H.G. Wells said that a day will come when people, who has thoughts that became dreams and hidden
potential in their bodies, who shall stand upon Earth like a footstool, and while they are in the middle
of a mist of stars, they raise their hands and laugh. Later, the Engineering Editors, of the Times, said
that in all the attempts to create and perfect airplane are not only dangerous to human life, but it
foredoomed the failure of the engineer s standpoint. As one man dreamed of raising his hands and
touching the skies, above the clouds. The other told how dangerous aviation can be to the human life,
and how engineers will fail many times. Both of these famous quotes are right, the human race will

impact his flight would mean to the world today. The American Airlines, at the time, were private
enterprises while most of them were government owned and goes through the history of aviation. The
history starts from 1914, through the World Wars, the Jet Age, and finally the 21st century. The First
official airline went back to 1925. The father of airline, which is the Western Air Express, and the first

Besides, Interjet became the first American Airline into supporting the electric taxiing system by
Honeywell, and Safran have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Mexican airline Interjet, so
they can support the advancement of the EGTS taxiing system. Since, this supports using technology
on the airplanes for the use of the taxiway and runway, which brings both fuel savings and emissions
reductions to the airlines. Evidently, this can save up to four blocks of fuel on the plane by using
motors on the landing gear that enables the landing gear to push back from the gate and taxi by using
the plane s own electrical power rather than using its main engine.

The Brief Wondrous Life Of Oscar Wao Analysis
Anti feminist views through the novel of The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao In recent discussions,
the novels The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz, has given rise to a controversial
question: whether women should be labeled as incomplete and an uncertainty without men. At the
same time, some have argued and questioned the intention of the two authors i.e., whether they hold
any respect for women, at all. In fact, there has been a collective attempt to convey that men can
control women, and by controlling them (women), men are able to regulate love itself, and keep them
protected , as can be seen through these authors methodical choice of words such as bitch , raging ,
useless woman , fea , idiota , vividness and worthless . Moreover, though initially it may appear that
both aforementioned authors have taken a defensive stance when they label women as imperfect
human beings, setting the boundaries, and painting women as a disparaging object, in reality, however,
the said authors are heavily afflicted by thoughts of death, rendering them to be in a constant internal
conflict amongst themselves, in search of love, leaving us to further question whether their hostility
towards women is from an obdurate standpoint, wounded by personal experience, or are they just
merely trying to hypnotize their readers by confining the latter to only see 20th century s society
through his eyes. In this regard, my personal view is that not only do this novel shed light on the past
and immortality, but it is also undeniable that the idea of time and death constantly haunt the author,
adversely influencing his personal fears, rendering the latter to be subjective. Nonetheless, though it is
conceded that Diaz is power hungry for a superior status, i.e., dominance and power over his lovers, I
believe that the author finds comfort when he is able to vent out his actual feelings through the novel,
using ambiguous words, to channel his grievance as an act of voice against his individual
circumstance, the latter as it was experienced in his conservative era. In fact, the author has been open
to criticism and subject of much debate in recent times. As Diaz says, The dyad of Yunior and Oscar
drives much of what

Single Sex Instruction Is An Old Approach That Is...
Single sex instruction is an old approach that is increasing new force. While single sex instruction has
since a long time ago existed in numerous non public schools, it s a moderately new choice for state
funded schools. The National Association for Single Sex Public Education gauges that around 400
government funded schools now offer some type of single sex training. What is filling this
development? What s more, what are the dangers and advantages of single sex training?
A main impetus in the single sex training development is late research demonstrating regular contrasts
in how guys and females learn. Putting this examination into practice, in any case, has set off a level

Some guardians don t need their kids to be in blended sexual orientation classrooms in light of the fact
that, particularly at specific ages, understudies of the inverse sex can be a diversion.
Leonard Sax and others concur that simply setting young men in isolated classrooms from young
ladies achieves little. Be that as it may, single sex training upgrades understudy achievement when
educators use procedures intended for the sex of their understudies.
Some examination demonstrates that young ladies learn better when classroom temperature is warm,
while young men perform better in cooler classrooms. On the off chance that that is valid, then the
temperature in a solitary sex classroom could be set to streamline the learning of either male or female
understudies.
Some exploration and reports from teachers propose that solitary sex training can widen the
instructive prospects for both young ladies and young men. Advocates claim co ed schools have a

Safe Space Research Paper
Safe spaces have gotten plenty of media attention in recent years, commonly being talked about as a
way to influence college campuses. From what I ve heard, many students want a place to be free from
scrutiny and discrimination. I have also heard about how guest lectures at colleges are affecting the
demand for safe spaces, depending on the speaker and their chosen subject, students choose to protest
lecturers they find offensive or violating to their personal beliefs. Thus, causing the collective demand
for a space free from threatening opposing views. I can understand why students would want safe
spaces, but it just seems unnecessary and potentially problematic. My goal is to learn as much as I can

One thing I notice over and over again in my research is that adults all seem to believe that college is
not supposed to make students comfortable, it s meant to push them and expose them to new people
and ideas. Former President of the United States, Barack Obama argues, the purpose of college is not
just, as I said before, to transmit skills. It s also to widen your horizons; to make you a better citizen;
to help you to evaluate information; to help you make your way through the world; to help you be
more creative. Students should have a place they feel safe and able to be themselves. However, the
belief that I need to be safe ideologically, I need to be safe emotionally, I just need to feel good all the
time. And if someone else says something that I don t like, that is a problem for everyone else is very
harmful and unattainable. Katherine Byron, a Brown University student and an advocate for safe
spaces wants to make her campus a safe place for rape victims. So when a guest lecturer came to
Brown and was going to talk on the issue of rape culture Byron set up a safe space for anyone who
found the debate too upsetting. The room was equipped with cookies, coloring books, bubbles, Play

In the writing of, America s Top Parent, Elizabeth Kolbert outlines the parenting strategies of different
mothers. Most notably, she talks about the Chinese Mother, which does not technically mean this
individual must be of Chinese descent. Throughout the essay, Kolbert talks about another essay, Battle
Hymn of the Tiger Mother. The author of that essay, Amy Chua, believes in a binary world. Meaning
that there are two kinds of mothers, Chinese Mothers , and Western mothers. Chinese mothers believe
in extreme parenting, whereas Western mothers think they are being strict when they insist that their
children practice their instruments for half an hour a day (Kolbert). On the other hand, Chinese
mothers have much more specific rules ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She believes that teaching this way makes the child learn a sense of competition and as well all know,
that will get you far in life. Competition makes everyone and everything better. The author makes very
valid points throughout the whole essay and even uses someone else s story to back up their
information. The information given during the text is quite significant to the back up the points the
author is making. Like stated earlier, using someone else s story is a good way to make sure the
information is correct. Throughout the text, the author will use words that may not seem clear at first,
but Kolbert does a respectable job of clearing things up for the reading and making it easier to follow
along. Since the author based their essay of the basis of another person s writing, it is safe to say that
the author used and interpreted the information very well. Quotes were used frequently throughout.
Kolbert did a lot of wonderful things with the text, however, not many times did you feel the sense of
an argument. The sense of just a general summary was felt the whole time. Overall the author did a
very nice job gathering this information and giving it back in a way that the audience had a good
understanding on where she stood with this issue.
Some of the author s points make a ton of sense and others not so much. Yes, babying your kid while
they are young will only cause trouble later. However, degrading them

Descriptive Essay On The San Juan Mountains
Every place has a taste. My highschool tastes bland, and a little bit like a cracker beginning to go stale.
My home tastes like sunlight on autumn leaves. Every place has a taste, but I will never forget the
taste of the majesty of the San Juan Mountains.
The first time I laid eyes upon the San Juan Mountains, I couldn t believe that I was only a few miles
away from the cold desert that is Colorado. The further into the rugged mountain range the highway
led me, the more awe and disbelief fell upon me. I felt small, and as if I was the first person to ever
discover those hidden valleys that support entire ecosystems of plants and animals. The scattered puffs
of cloud above me painted shadows along the razor edged peaks, giving an appearance of a mural,
rather than massive chunks of rock carved away by the centuries. I could hear nothing except for the
pounding of far off waterfalls and the whispering of the pines, who shared secrets that nobody but
they would ever know. I felt like an intruder, and yet welcomed. I was lost, but at home.
Around a bend, and out of the blue, there came a town. Even so far from the nearest city, the town was
butsling. Main Street was lined with colorful buildings restored from the Victorian era. A two floor
hotel, elegant even in it s old age, announced its presence at the corner of an intersection. The stout
brick walls stood fortified, defying the valley winds. The occasional house could be seen through the
tightly packed boutiques, shops, and art galleries. One was baby blue and white, another, the color of
dried saffron. Further on down Main Street, natural hot springs revealed themselves. People of every
age packed into the heated pools. A vicious game of volleyball had commenced, and more people
were flocking to the net even in the second it took to drive past. Eventually, the quaint Main Street
ended, and the highway led the car through several switchbacks that twisted up the side of the valley.
At the top, a weather worn sign named the town Ouray , and the sight below was one to behold. Ouray
spread through the bowl formed when rivers and mountains collide, spreading to the edges until not a
shed more could ve been built. But the highway kept leading, and the car kept

responsibility of medical emergency nurse to make accurate assessments in emergency. If a nurse
shows carelessness and there is no accurate assessment of the patient done then there are several
consequences of this and it not only waste patient s time but can also lead towards serious medical

Compromise For The Compromise Of 1850
Compromise that means to come to an agreement, a settlement that brings peace, but not without some
discomfort for both sides. This compromise is hopefully long lasting and satisfying to both sides and
brings with it a rest. The Compromise of 1850 sounds like exactly that, but there is more to this
compromise. This compromise came when there was much dispute about the future of the western
lands recently acquired from the Mexican government California, Utah, and New Mexico. The
Southerners of America wanted the states entered into the union as slave states, while the Northerners
wanted them entered as free states. When this issue became more heated and continued to escalate,
The Great Compromiser, Mr. Henry Clay himself, came out of retirement to do his thing and create a
compromise. He proposed that California would enter the union as a Slave State and Utah and New
Mexico would enter as neutral, being neither a slave nor free state. Parts of both the North and the
South hated and liked this plan. Some misanthropists in the South threatened to secede from the union

the Civil War. The North wanted to see slavery come to an end and were fighting tooth and nail to see
that through. After months of debating and changes made to Clay s compromise it was eventually put
into action. There was still unrest in both the North and South, and the compromise only

Hallucinogenic Drug Addiction
Human life is mostly a collection of sensations and perceptions, the byproduct of our interactions with
our environment as we do the things necessary for survival. Much of our success in life seems to
depend on accurately perceiving the dangers and opportunities we are presented with. In the modern
age of information processing, we are more dependent than ever on the perceptive capacity of our
brains. By using hallucinogenic drugs, a person intentionally alters their brain s ability to accurately
perceive the stimuli it receives, producing an altered state of consciousness in which they have
experiences with little or no basis in reality. There are many documented risks and side effects
associated with the abuse of these drugs. (National Institute ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Coq10 Side Effects Of Ubiquinone
CoQ10 Side Effects Be on the Guard CoQ10 also referred to as ubiquinone is a naturally produced
enzyme inside the human body. This is found in each cell and tissue and is involved in many
biological functions such as the production of energy, neutralization of free radicals and also keeping
cells healthy. Young bodies are capable of producing ample amounts of CoQ10, however, aging as
well as stress tend to lower the levels of ubiquinone inside the body. With its effects in the aging
process, this is an enzyme which accurately marks the end of youth. While it is known to have
benefits, do you ever wonder if there are also CoQ10 side effects? Not all CoQ10 side effects should

Sexual Innuendoes in the Films of Alfred Hitchcock Essay...
Sexual Innuendoes in the Films of Alfred Hitchcock
When watching an Alfred Hitchcock movie, have you ever found yourself sympathizing with a
deceptive seductress or a soon to be sex offender? If so, you may have felt guilt from watching such
sexual innuendoes, but don t feel too bad. This is just one of the intents of Alfred Hitchcock as he
weaves many of his tales with sensual characters. His films portray a vast array of sexuality from
showing a battle of the sexes and tales of romance to showing homosexuals and sex offenders.
Overall, the films of Alfred Hitchcock portray varying degrees of sexuality, which is manifested both
romantically and perversely. The sexuality is one of the aspects of Hitchcock s films that adds intrigue

Fourth, Robin Wood tells us, A Hitchcock film is an organism, with the whole implied in every detail
and every detail related to the whole (Boyd 6). Through these four aspects, we can see that Hitchcock
typically opts to show unsettling scenarios that can be seen as much in the intricacies of the film as in
the entire premise. So, this sets the stage so that we, the audience, may know to look deeper into his
films than just what is portrayed on the surface.
The evolution of Hitchcock s ideas on sexuality came from his schooling and progressed throughout
his film career. From looking into his schooling, I have found evidence that Hitchcock had received
mixed messages. In the Jesuit school where he studied, he learned, women were at least a distraction,
often a temptation, and in some cases dangerous (Hurley 219). However, he also retained many moral
ideas including some awareness of sex and love as having divine origins (222). These two notions
intrigued Hitchcock to begin exploring the sexual side of humanity within his films. Before he even
began his career, one can see that the film that emerged during the last of his schooling became even
more sexually overt (219).
Through the beginning of his career, Hitchcock avoided depicting overt sexual overtones. In the 1950
s, Hitchcock clung to his themes which included, the coy sexuality (Silet). However,

The Polarity Of College Students
DIGITAL AGE
The Polarity of College Students
Back in my days, we were not fortunate enough to... Gotcha! Did you expect that to be a dull story
like our grandparents or parents may have told to show us how much more difficult their lives were?
Not exactly, this writing is about how college students of this generation make use of digital
technology. The wide spread of today s technology via computers or smartphones results in constant
connectivity to the internet. Social media, video gaming, information databases, and online classes,
have affected college students studies, causes a wider academic gap between distracted students and
self disciplined students. College students own a computer or smartphone, a more compact and mobile
version of a computer, or both. Thanks to the mobility of smartphones that makes them ubiquitous,
accessing the internet is effortless. Frequently, I notice students dotting all over the campus interacting
with their smartphones. In his book, Smarter Than You Think, Clive Thompson states, Our tools are
everywhere, linked with our minds, working in tandem (p. 347). In other words, we are likely to be
using our computers whenever we have a chance. In particular, students from my writing class opt to
use their smartphones during our short ten minute break. For instance, sharing a similar experience,
the author of Is Google Making Us Stupid?, Nicholas Carr says he is likely to use a computer when he
is not working (par. 3). In brief, smartphones

Benito Mussolini, AKA Il Dulce
Benito Mussolini, known as Il Duce, was the founder of the totalitarian form of government known as
Fascism. However that was not enough recognition; Mussolini wanted to demonstrate to the world
that he could be a successful ruler as well. Mussolini came to power and remained in power primarily
due to the actions of the Italian Blackshirts. As the Blackshirts maintained law and order, terrorized
political opponents, defended Italy, and marched on Rome, Mussolini successfully ruled as dictator.
Controlled and led by Mussolini, the Italian Blackshirts also known as the Squadre d Azione, were
made up of war veterans and young people led by ringleaders. The Blackshirt uniform consisted of a
green jacket and trouser with a black shirt and tie. The green colors were similar to that of the army
uniforms, but the black shirt and tie differentiated the Blackshirts from the other combat forces. The
Blackshirts were first created on March 23, 1919 and played a vital role in the rule of Mussolini.
Benito Mussolini s rise to power primarily relied on the Blackshirts march on Rome. On October 24,
1922, Mussolini hosted a Fascist convention in Naples as the reason for the March on Rome. There he
declared, Either the government will be given to us, or we will seize it by marching on Rome.
Mussolini s plan was to threaten to occupy the nation s capital of Rome with his forces, the
Blackshirts, and pressure King Victor Emmanuel III into inviting him into the government.

not all about kicking, punching, screaming really loud, making unusual sounds or beating people up.
Instead martial arts focuses on the well being of people. Martial arts can be broken up into five very

Nature is rich; but everywhere man, the heir of nature, is poor. Lloyd begins his work by complaining
about how the rich remain rich and the poor remain poor; however, as the essay progresses, one can
see the accuracy of his views. He references the creation of Adam and Eve, stating that, Never since
time began have all the sons and daughters of men been all warm, and filled, and all shod and roofed.
It s been true throughout history that because of monopolies that a very small percentage of men
control a majority of land and resources. Lloyd states that individuals holding a majority of resources
and land believe that that there is a scarcity; that there is not enough. And in order to survive, in order
to be happy, in order to be prosperous, they must contain and constrain. Men must hold on to any and
everything they can get their hands on. The minority has an opposing viewpoint. It feels that there is
an abundance of resources, but because of unequal distribution, there is never enough to go around:
There is too much iron, too much lumber, too much flour―for this or that syndicate. The majority
have never been able to buy enough of anything; but this minority have too much of everything to sell.

Systemic Osteoporosis
Systemic glucocorticoids are the leading cause of secondary osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is described
by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a progressive systemic skeletal disease characterised by
low bone mass and microarchitectural deterioration of bone tissue, with a consequent increase in bone
fragility and susceptibility to fracture . Oral glucocorticoids are the low bone mass and
microarchitectural deterioration main iatrogenic cause of fragility fracture. Relationship between
glucocorticoid use and bone loss has been studied and established since 1990. Early studies showed
that oral glucocorticoid cause a substantial loss in bone density and other bone markers. Subsequent
epidemiological research identified confirmed the link between fracture and oral glucocorticoid use.
Fragility fractures are the ultimate clinical endpoint that is targeted to prevent in osteoporosis.
Osteoporotic fractures occur in several bone locations. Most osteoporosis resultant fractures are hip,
proximal femur, vertebral, distal radius and ulna, which are often labeled as major osteoporotic
fractures. Fracture of the tibia, fibula, patella, ribs, and sacrum are also considered fractures
attributable to osteoporosis. A substantial amount of evidence showed increased risk of mortality post

Examples Of Knowledge In Rappaccini s Daughter
In society, especially in the time of the Enlightenment, pursuit of knowledge through the use of
rationality and reason was thought of as every man s goal. Thus, innocence had negative connotations
associated with it. When Romanticism began, thoughts associated with the Enlightenment were
thrown upside down. Nathaniel Hawthorne shows in Rappaccini s Daughter, through the characters of
Giovanni and Beatrice, how innocence is something to be valued. He shows how knowledge is a form
of corruption and how its pursuit is responsible for the ruin of their characters. Giovanni is portrayed
in the beginning of the story as completely innocent and unknowing. He knows little about this new
place where he came to study, and he longs for his hometown. In the physical sense he is a healthy and
handsome young man and is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He believes knowledge is a poison, leading to the decay and the loss on one s innocence. The pursuit
of knowledge turned Rappaccini into a monster. He was so obsessed with science that he would
sacrifice human life...or whatever else was dearest to him, for the sake of a adding so much as a grain
of mustard seed to his store of knowledge. Baglioni s pursuit of knowledge also corrupted him. He
becomes so preoccupied with bringing about Rappaccini s downfall that he himself descends to
Rappaccini s level. He orchestrates the death of Beatrice just to pull ahead in his professional rivalry.
The toxicity of the flowers in the garden is used as a metaphor for corruption or the lack of innocence.
Hawthorne demonstrates how innocence is something that once taken, cannot ever be returned. Once
Beatrice realizes the horrible truth, that she has been contaminated by the poison and transformed by
her own father into such a terrible creature, she wants her innocence back. Thus, when Beatrice drinks
the antidote made by Baglioni, it does not cure her of the poison but kills

Machiavelli elaborates on various ways to acquire principalities and provides the reader with a

analyses the strengths and flaws of certain paths to conquest, how to maintain a hold on power and the
importance of strong arms. Machiavelli sees humans as easily persuaded and simple minded. He

Imitating the work of a past ruler is also important because If his own virtue does not reach that far, at
least he will be in the odor of it . Pope Jullius demonstrates this perfectly by continuing through
Alexander VI footsteps and finding new ways to make the church great by means of money and arms.
Fear is another strength that sustains Ecclesiastical Principalities. Humans believe in God s practices
because they fear what would happen if they seized to believe. Moses invokes fear by brutally killing
all who lost faith in him. Those who Moses spared remain thankful that they were not harmed while
those who were harmed stay weak and too scared to rebel. Machiavelli insinuates that all humans want
to be controlled and guided. When not under direct guidance, humans are fearful of their life outside
the Ecclesiastical Principality. Fear was also used to maintain dominance by Remirro. He placed a
mangled corpse in the middle of town square which left the people astounded. In doing so, people fear
the Prince s brutality and therefore, obey him. This is seen in all types of principalities. Overall,
Machiavelli s first impression of Ecclesiastical Principalities is that they differ from the others because

Why United States Invades Iraq

serveral reasons as illustrates: first of all, since United States want to implement the economic
sanction to Iraq, they start to invade the Iraq in 2003 and also occupied the Iraqi capital of Baghdad.
To be specific, according to research information is clearly shown that due to the Gulf War, the United
Nations asked Iraq to stop all chemical and biological weapons because they are worried that it will
bring negative influence to the citizen, society and the world. For example, it is being showing by The
United Nations Special Commission (UNSCOM) performed inspections in Iraq to make sure that the
conditions of the peace agreement that followed the first Gulf War were carried out. (Jakobsen NTNU,

against Iraq, Washington s own one side to take no fly zones in the northern and the southern of Iraq.
At the same time, the research states that after the first Gulf War, the President George W. Bush and
President Bill Clinton signed an agreement which is a legally effective power of attorney in order to
overthrow and dismantle Saddam Hussein s regime and preventing Saddam s military coup. Not only
does it prevent Saddam s military coup, but also it can take effective means for the Iraqi military. In

Photoluminescence is light emission that form after the absorption of photons. Dye act as a light
absorber. Organic dye is one type of dye, have a small band gap and use as semiconducting material. It
will excite the excited electron after absorb light as energy from highest occupied molecular

Dye always acts as a light absorber. Dye will absorb light to excite the excited electron state from
HOMO to LUMO. So absorbed of photons will be happened and dye will fall back from LUMO to
HOMO. So emission of photon will be happened. So the wavelength during absorbance and emission
process can be identified by using Photoluminescene (PL) spectrometer. By knowing the wavelength
we can determine the concentration of dye. Ruthenium dye is one of the organic dye where it contains
small band gap, so it only needs small energy to excite the photon from LUMO to HOMO. So if the
dye absorb red colour it will reflect blue colour (refer figure 1). Figure 1: a wheel of colour to estimate
absorbed light based on colour of dye
Objectives
1. To speculate range of absorbed and reflected wavelength of light by Ruthenium based dye based on
its colour
2. To characterize photoluminescence property of the dye using Photoluminescence(PL) spectrometer;

A Brief Note On The National Mediation Board
Employees generally seek union representation because they feel their workplace rights from their
employer is not being met, or that they have an unfair disadvantage in regards to any needs or
workplace desires. They turn to unions to help bridge the gap and ease the power differential that
exists between employers and their employees. In order for a group of employees to obtain
representation, they must undergo an election process to choose their union or decide if they, as a unit,
want a union at all (Cox, Bok, Gorman, Finkin, 2012). Here, we will discuss the history of and
changes to the manner in which employee votes have been counted to determine an outcome in these
elections.
1. Prior to the National Mediation Board s (NMB) 2010 rule change, what was the primary difference
between how the election results were counted under the NLRA and the Railway Labor Act (RLA)?
For approximately seventy five years the only option an employee had to submit a vote against union
representation was to not vote at all. Under the Railway Labor Act, it specifically identifies that
employees shall have the right to determine who shall be representative of the craft or class 45 U.S.C
$ 152 but does not define that a specific no union choice was available. This was further exemplified
by the National Mediation Board who recognized non voters as representing a no vote and/or being
against union representation. Under this pretense and applicable to the ballot, which only

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) ADHD and its diagnosis and treatment have been
considered controversial since the 1970s. The controversies have involved clinicians, teachers,
policymakers, parents and the media. Opinions regarding ADHD range from not believing it exists at
all to believing there are genetic and physiological bases for the condition as well as disagreement
about the use of stimulant medications in treatment. Some sociologists consider ADHD to be a classic
example of the medicalization of deviant behavior, defining a previously non medical problem as a

With regard to genetic studies, research has demonstrated the fact that genetic influences are involved.
Family studies, molecular genetics, and twin studies have explained the familial nature of ADHD.
Regarding family studies, there is a high probability of a child being diagnosed with the disorder if the
siblings or parents are also affected. In addition, about 33.3% of fathers who in their childhood had
ADHD are likely to bear children who have the disorder. This is an indication that among first degree
relatives of affected parents or siblings, there is a 6 8X risk of an ADHD relative to the prevalence of
ADHD in the general population. Further evidence has been obtained from twin studies by comparing
the rate of concordance between monozygotic (MZ) and dizygotic (DZ) twins. All of the genes are
shared in the case of MZ twins whereas in DZ twins only 50% of segregating genes are shared on
average. A study that involved comparing the rate of concordance between the two types of twins
revealed that among MZ twins, the rate of concordance ranged between 58% and 82%. For the same
sex in DZ twins, the rate was 31% 38%. These results provided more evidence to the heritable nature
of ADHD. However, the fact that the rate of concordance in MZ twins was less than 100% in all the
studies conducted implies the involvement of environmental components in the aetiology of ADHD.

The main result of the election of 1800 was the peaceful transition of political power and the tie
between the two democratic republican candidates, Thomas Jefferson and Aaron Burr with seventy

Alexander Hamilton s help and persuasion by choosing Thomas Jefferson as the lesser of two evils,
the House of Representatives elected Thomas Jefferson as president and Aaron Burr as vice president.
As a result of the 1800 election, the Congress and the states passed the Twelfth Amendment in 1804

Augustine, with Jesus as its head and us as the body, shows an intimacy between the Head and the
body leading us to mystical union with Christ. Continuing, Augustine insists not only will Christ make
us one in Him, but one person, and that the church s structure reflects not a series of individuals but a
unity speaking as one. St Gregory demonstrates this in his expositions on the Psalms, Psalm 60, The
psalm, he says, speaks as though one single person is praying. But it is not a lone individual; it is a
unity speaking as one. In Christ, He molds us into one person whose head is in heaven and whose
limbs are toiling on earth. Gregory the Great echoes Augustine s usage of the word person in the same
way. He says, Our redeemer has shown himself to be one person with the holy Church, whom he has
taken to himself. Hence, one can conclude that as members united with Christ as the body to the head,
Christ transfigured us into his selfless gift of love. Throughout scripture the imagery depicting a
bridegroom s love for his spouse helps to understand this

Napoleon Bonaparte Revolutionary Hall Of Fame
To the Admissions Board of the Revolutionary Hall of Fame,
It is with great pleasure that I recommend Napoleon Bonaparte to be inducted into the Revolutionary
Hall of Fame. Bonaparte was not only the French General of the French Army but, more importantly,
an emperor that was charismatic and diligent who was successful in the reunification of the French
empire and established a stable connect between the church and the state after the effects of the French
Revolution.
Napoleon Bonaparte excelled as his role of the emperor of France. Before that, he was a game
changing First Consul and revolutionary French General of the French Army. He was diligent and
cunning when it came to military plans and military campaigns. Napoleon Bonaparte also

Mullelr and Glial Cells Essay
This experiment was done to determine the main purpose Muller cells, a type of glial cell, and its cell
regions have in the body. The Muller cell s endfoot was of particular interest, and scientists wanted to
observe the affects the endfoot has on conductance and resistance, as well as its overall purpose. The
results from this experiment could then provide us with a more generalized view of the purpose that
other glial cells, especially astrocytes, have in the brain. It was hypothesized that if most of the Muller
cell s conductance was located in the endfoot, then the resistance in the endfoot would also vary
significantly compared to the rest of the cell and this would have huge impacts on how potassium ions
removed from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The measurement of resistance in the Muller cell with the endfoot still intact was much lower than
when the resistance in the cell after the endfoot had been removed. Additionally, when researchers cut
a part of the cell above the endfoot, leaving the endfoot untouched, the cell resistance did increase
slightly, but not by very much. These observations helped to prove that the endfoot, not other parts of
the cell, contributes to most of the cell s resistance, and therefore conductance. When measuring
impedance in the cell, the endfoot impedance increased when penetrated, while other parts of the cell
showed no real changes. When KCl solution was added into the cell and the amount of potassium ion
efflux was recorded along the cell, it was found that about the same amount of potassium efflux
occurred all along the cell membrane, with the endfoot having a much greater efflux of potassium ions
than anywhere else on the Muller cell. All in all, it was determined that the Muller endfoot is not only
where the highest conductance and lowest membrane resistance in the cell is locate, but also where the
most potassium channels are located. Therefore, the endfoot greatly controls how much potassium ion
movement. This goes for Muller

Mexican-Indian Pearl
In this story a Mexican Indian pearl diver named Kino awakens to the sound of crowing roosters. Kino
lives near the village of La Paz, on the Pacific coast of the Baja Peninsula. His house is made out of
brush and bundles of straw fastened together to make walls and a roof. He also has a makeshift cradle
hanging from the roof of the hut, where his infant son, Coyotito, sleeps. Kino also has a wife Juana
laying down on the mat. Juana rises to check on Coyotito and also starts a fire. Kino also gets up and
wraps himself in a blanket and slides into his sandals. In the company of a goat and a dog, Kino stares
with the detachment of God at a group of industrious ants underneath his feet. Behind him Kino hears
Juana singing and nursing Coyotito. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And Kino gripped the handle of the big working knife and took a sense of protection from it. On a
clear, windy night, Kino, Juana, and Coyotito begin their long march north, avoiding the sleeping
town. Outside of town, they follow a road, carefully walking in a wheel rut to conceal their tracks.
They walk all night and make camp in a roadside shelter at sunrise. After eating a small breakfast,
Juana rests until midday. Kino spots a cluster of ants and lays down his foot as an obstacle. The ants
climb over it, and he keeps his foot in place and watches them scale

Network Design Essay
3 General Ideas:
The three general ideas which are interesting to my preference would be,
Network Security
Network Architecture and
Artificial Intelligence
1. Network Security:
Keeping a network secured is always mandatory because information cannot be share by a person who
is unauthorized and network security is an advanced procedure where it will prevent possible access or
misuse of information on network or modify any data on the network without having an access to it.
There are several ways of network security by which a network can be secured.
The three sub areas which I have selected in Network Security are,
Data Loss Prevention: Any company which has a network and few work stations which work on this
network should make sure ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So, NAC (Network Access Control) is the process which will be giving limited access depending on
their designation.
2. Network Architecture:
This is one of the most important phase while creating a secured network. Network architecture will
discuss the design of network which has both software and hardware connectivity along with process
of transmission and communications in both wired or wireless networks. There are few topologies
(star, bus, loop or mesh) and types of networks (LAN, WAN or MAN) which are to be considered and
then need to work on the architecture accordingly.
The three sub areas which I have selected for Network Architecture are,
Planning of Network Design: A proper planning of a network design will always lead to better results.
Planning should be done in such a way that network should always run properly and should be secured
24/7. Strong firewalls and updated components are to be picked for proper planning of network. There
should always be a space in network so that we can either expand or add few more components to
network which will make network even more big. Blueprints of networks must be made prior to
network design because they are the ones which will be helpful in designing the actual network.
Data Transfers within the network: Making sure that data is

On Dumpster Diving Lars Eighner
Lars Eighner s On Dumpster Diving describes the lifestyle of living out of a dumpster.
Eighner makes use of a tone and presents an usually unseemly topic in a compelling and comical light.
His general claim is that it is possible to survive well outside the housed community of the average
citizens. Eighner brings a perspective on scavenging for food and goods that differs from the typical
knee jerk reaction to dumpster diving. In his essay, Eighner discusses American waste as well as the
true art of scavenging and the lessons he learned through this experience. Eighner attempts to explain
and rationalize the reasons for dumpster diving. As he explains the art of scavenging, he exposes the
wasteful nature of Americans, especially college ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A new scavenger is filled with disgust and self loathing. (382) He goes on to say that this stage passes
with experience and brings on a new one in which the scavenger begins to realize that people throw
away perfectly good stuff making their shyness disappear. Then the scavenger becomes lost because
they begin to collect things that they can never use. Pack rat. Thats what Eighner calls the scavengers
that begin to collect everything that is interesting nut of no value or purpose. Every bit of glass may be
a diamond, they think, and all that glistens, gold. (383) Can scroungers. These are the scavengers that
Eighner hates. These are the ones that scrounge for cans because they had little to no cash and have to
find a way to feed their drug and alcohol addiction. They become blinded by these symbols of money
that they begin to look past anything else that may be of value and make a big mess for the next
scavenger that may look in

Themes In Robert Frost s The Road Not Taken
THE ROAD NOT TAKEN Robert Frost s The Road Not Taken, is a poem, or even a tale many readers
will relate to. It is a narrative of the choices in life and the crossroads in which the individual is faced
with. In the lines, there is quite clarity in the decisions and feelings of Frost throughout. His use of
imagery to paint beautiful landscapes and countless sub thoughts is extraordinary, yet he does it with
such few words. Although one could see this poem for how it reads and view the story of a solemn
traveler pacing down a road, when diving deep into its actual text one sees that Frost is trying to paint
a much deeper picture. This metaphor of a poem is written a way that anybody who reads it can
understand and relate. From each of the simple lines to the groupings of intricately placed words, this
work of art brings out the meaning and passion in a well lived life. In the first stanza the setting is laid
out before us. A fork in the road in the middle of a yellow wood. These two paths are unknown to the
solemn traveler. The first line in the poem states yellow wood, which gives the feeling that it would be
more of an autumn season. The autumn season is the beginning of dormancy in the forest life. It also
signals the nearing end of another joyous year. In life we have cycles just like the seasons cycle.
Periods of new growth such as spring or a new relationship perhaps. Summer, where we are enjoying
the things we have to the fullest. There is fall, when something nears to an end such as a vacation, the
ending of the year or maybe childhood when one must think about getting out in the world. Then,
there is winter: the darker portion of the cycle of life. The point in which we are waiting for the new to
begin or praying for the hurt to subside.
This cycle of life, and particularly the season of autumn, seems to pair up with the fork in the road or
the point where the traveler is ending this stretch of road and must embark upon a new path. Just as it
is in life when one period begins to draw to an end we must begin to think of the next set of choices or
paths to take. Most options in life do not allow for someone to have both. Just as the traveler we, too,
must choose a path for ourselves.

Scenario: To open a Lemonade Stand in your local neighborhood.
Its summer time and the most important thing in hot weather is the need to quench your thirst. What is
a better drink then a refreshing Lemonade. Since long I was very much interested in opening a
lemonade stand, which I finally decided to have it implemented before the summer season starts. After
a lot of research and hard work I have come up with a business model that would work efficiently in
generating revenue and also help local community.
Brand:
The brand name that I came up with is a catchy and trendy word which I think represents the product
and justifies the product s need in hot season. The brand name would be GO COOL Real Lemonade.
... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pricing Strategy:
Since the Lemonade business depends on lemon and sugar, our company will have to keep an eye on
the stock needed and the availability of the two item locally and internationally. Even though the
business will be at the peak in summer and will slow down in winter, a close monitoring on the
international prices is a must. The future plan of the company is to expand in other continents by
giving out franchise. So if it winter in US we generate business revenue from countries like Australia
and New Zealand where they would have summer. To keep standard pricing and profit margin for the
franchises, a detailed costing would be required. The things that are needed to be considered would be
Cost of Lemon, Cost of Sugar, Cost of water, Cost of container, 10% overheads (labor, rent, utilities,
etc), 5% franchising fee and 7% profit margin. In addition to this pricing 2% price fluctuation will be
added to the cost. With this calculation the company and the franchises should make enough money to
survive in the competitive market.
Global Market:
Even though the product can be packed in a container and can be sold globally, I would prefer to have
local franchises so that we can provide pure and authentic lemonade without preservatives as we
promised. Also, opening a franchise will give local people employment, which is also a way to give
back to the community.
If we stick to the plans and ethics, I think our company has a bright future

Paper Airplane Challenges
Working with a new team can be a challenging effort as is; however, working with a team who was
constantly required to join other teams can place a strain on team dynamics to an even further extent.
Composed of only three individuals, working effectively together was often a very difficult task for
my team, as we were repeatedly obligated to join other groups throughout activities. This put pressure
on not only our team but others as no one was familiar with the team dynamics of each group except
for the members of that team. This was most noticeable during the paper airplane challenge and
having to join another team to discuss a case study. The paper airplane activity captivated the
challenges of a team as one of our group members was absent that class, and we were ... Show more

As this newly formed team had to spend a portion of its time developing and maintaining the
dynamics of a new team, rather than being productive and focused on the task is an example of the
process loss concept of team challenges (McShane, Steen, Tasa, 2015) This concept of process loss
then escalated as joining a group late results in a longer time spent on understanding how these new
members would transition well with the current ones (McShane, Steen, Tasa, 2015). Combining with
other groups also introduced the notion of social loafing which is defined as the process in which
individuals are seemingly less motivated when working in teams and will exert less effort compared if
they were working alone (McShane, Steen, Tasa, 2015). This concept was especially apparent for the
airplane activity as we now had a team that consisted of six members, making some members feel less
valued compared to others. A decrease in value then resulted which was noticeable when some
individuals would not participate and others not would not put much effort into this

  • 2. Slavery, a World History Slavery, an issue some would say is complicated. So what exactly is slavery? What does it mean? And how did it come to be? These are complex questions that are often asked and possibly, by understanding the forms it takes and the roles such slaves performed. What daily life is like for those enchained and what can be done to end this demeaning practice may help in answering those questions. It is known that slavery is a system under which people are treated as property to be bought, sold and are forced to work. It is also known that slavery was established in the history and economy of most countries. Even though it prospered during some periods and abstained in others, human bondage for profit has unfortunately, never been completely removed. Author Milton Meltzer, in his book Slavery, A World History follows this practice from prehistoric hunting societies; through the development of slave trading in the United States prior to the Civil War, it disturbingly reached a total number of four million slaves. He continues through the forced labor applied under the Nazi establishment and in the Soviet prison camps. And he concludes with the broad practice of slavery in many of the countries today, examples to include, women sold into prostitution in Thailand and the debt bondage that minors endure in Brazil. Many are often shocked to learn that historians have considered slavery as a step forward in the development of civilization. From the earliest times, it was customary ... • 3. The Ethics Of Executions Should Be Legal The Ethics of Executions Over the past 10 years, more death row inmates have preferred execution to facing seemingly endless years of appeals, states an ABC News article (Robinson). With the ever increasing number of executions, the controversial debate over the legality of capital punishment creates a divide within the population. A wedge that separates the people who support capital punishment is one complicated question: what role should a doctor play in executions? Doctors should be advocates for their patients no matter what the circumstances. Despite the infraction of American Medical Association (AMA) policy, it is important for a licensed medical professional with the correct knowledge and experience to monitor the execution. While a doctor should be on the scene in case of emergency, they should not play an active role in executions as is the policy in Texas and other states. The first thing to remember is that all doctors must adhere to the Hippocratic Oath which requires them to do no harm to their patients. However, the bounds of this oath are widely debated on cases that span Do Not Resuscitate directives, physician assisted suicide, executions, and anything that results in the death of a patient. In the case of executions, AMA policy states that it is unethical for doctors to be involved except in a peripheral way (Tanner). The AMA s stance prohibits doctors from supervising or contributing in any way even if it is to help ease the inmate s pain ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. How Does Darcy Present Elizabeth Bennet s Marriage First, The most significant marriage of the novel depicts the ideal vision of the bride Elizabeth Bennet. Her ideal vision of what a marriage should be was one where the bride and groom had true love for each other, as well as a mutual respect, and a intellectual connection that far surpassed a physical one. Elizabeth had no social status or assets. This was an obstacle that Darcy had to overcome throughout the book. He was constantly influenced by his family and those around him of equal or similar social status that he should marry someone with some sort of power. However Elizabeth had to overcome her prejudice towards the upper class, and understand Darcy for who he really was herself. Instead of listening to and believing others opinions and gossip. This marriage clearly fits the description of its bride s ideal marriage. Next, George and Lydia s marriage was used to save Lydia and the Bennet family reputation. When Lydia and George run away out of wedlock this potentially ruins the other Bennet sisters chance at marrying into the upper class. Mrs. Bennet then manipulates the marriage although George is in severe debt. Ultimately sacrificing one of her daughters in hope that one of the others may succeed. ... • 5. Cloud Computing Research Paper Cloud Computing Research Paper Introduction Cloud computing is revolutionizing the use software globally at a very rapid pace as it is completely redefining the economics of how software is purchased and used. Web 2.0 technologies and their underlying design precepts are responsible for the current and future generations of social networks (Bernoff, Li, 2008). Both have immediate and significant impacts on the operations of businesses and the major contributions each makes are explained in this analysis. Analysis of the Business Uses of the Cloud and Web 2.0 Technologies Cloud computing has drastically reordered the economics of how every size and type of business uses software. For the large enterprise there is no longer the need to go through an extensive capital expense (CAPEX) budgeting process, often involving the board of directors of a business (Aljabre, 2012). Cloud computing software is often pad for through operating expense (OPEX) budgets, which shifts the control of its budgeting to the line of business managers or those managers and executives responsible for a given business unit. This dynamic alone has completely reordered the enterprise software market, as cloud based applications can often be modified significantly faster than on premise applications (Lin, Chen, 2012). As a result of this flexibility, enterprises, medium size and small businesses are all relying on cloud based applications to automate those process areas that had been expensive and ... • 7. Goal Cash Management ) The of goal cash management is to minimize the amount of cash the business must hold to conduct its normal activities while having sufficient cash on hand to support operations (Gapenski, L. C., Reiter, K. L., 2016, p 601). Short term investments may offer minimal returns but cash offers zero. The point is to get the most return on funds and have only the minimum cash on hand. Float is the difference between the balance sheet on a business s checkbook and the balance shown on the bank s books (p 602). This difference is due to the delay in processing of the checks written or the checks received. Receipt accelerations are processes to increase the speed of processing check payments. Two examples are lockboxes and automated clearing houses (p 603). Lockboxes are regional post office boxes where payments are sent and geographically processed to decrease delays in transit. Lockboxes can increase the availability of funds by 1 3 days. Automated clearing house is a communication network that send data from one bank to another. This allows immediate electronic transfer of funds instead of paper checks (p 604). Distribution control is controlling the outflow of cash. This control is limited by ethical issues in the delay of payments and the potential loss of timely payment discounts. One method to control distribution is a zero balance account. A zero balance account is a bank account have a zero balance. Funds are transferred from a master account as needed to cover checks ... Cells are the smallest form of life of which all forms of life are composed of one or more cells. All cells come from pre existing cells. Two different of cells exist: Prokaryotes and Eukaryotes. They are structurally and functionally different, but they share some properties. Some similarities are: methods of reproduction, cell division by binary fission, mitosis or meiosis. The presence of DNA and RNA for protein synthesis, plasma is the cell membrane and changes in temperature make these cells alike. These two types of cells are different in other important ways. Prokaryotes are some of the smallest of all organisms. Due to its size, prokaryotes can get nutrients quickly throughout the cell. Bacteria come in three shapes: rods, spirals or spheres. Spirochete is a corkscrew shaped rod. Many bacteria have a distinct arrangement in grouping of cells. Such groups form when cells divide without separating. Cocci can divide in one or more plane or random. Division in one plane is called diplo or division in pairs. Chains of cocci are called strepto. Two planes of division is called tetrads. Random division produces grape like clusters called staphylo. Bacilli divide only in one plane, but they can be side by side or end to end. Gram positive bacteria have a thick peptidoglycan layer and is located external to the cell membrane. Helps in cell maintenance and contributes to acidic polysaccharides such as teichoic acid and lipoteichoic acid. Gram negative bacteria have a thin layer of peptidoglycan. He took the Sun as a symbol of his absolute power, and he believed that he stood in the center of the nation like the Sun in the solar system. He was the son of Louis XIII and inherited the throne at the young age of five, but while he was still very young, Cardinal Mazarin was the person who was really the ruler (Steingrad). There were two wings of the building plus the main building and it had about 2000 rooms (Beck, 521). Another problem was that Louis had to fight in disastrous wars. In the beginning, he was succeeding and winning the wars but eventually he decided to fight additional wars and his luck ran out (Beck, 522). Towards the end of the 1680s, there was a European alliance that had formed to stop France. Since the countries had joined together, the weaker countries could match France s strength because of the dominating larger group of countries (Beck, 522). • 11. The Brief Wondrous Life Of Oscar Wao Analysis Anti feminist views through the novel of The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao In recent discussions, the novels The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz, has given rise to a controversial question: whether women should be labeled as incomplete and an uncertainty without men. At the same time, some have argued and questioned the intention of the two authors i.e., whether they hold any respect for women, at all. In fact, there has been a collective attempt to convey that men can control women, and by controlling them (women), men are able to regulate love itself, and keep them protected , as can be seen through these authors methodical choice of words such as bitch , raging , useless woman , fea , idiota , vividness and worthless . Moreover, though initially it may appear that both aforementioned authors have taken a defensive stance when they label women as imperfect human beings, setting the boundaries, and painting women as a disparaging object, in reality, however, the said authors are heavily afflicted by thoughts of death, rendering them to be in a constant internal conflict amongst themselves, in search of love, leaving us to further question whether their hostility towards women is from an obdurate standpoint, wounded by personal experience, or are they just merely trying to hypnotize their readers by confining the latter to only see 20th century s society through his eyes. In this regard, my personal view is that not only do this novel shed light on the past and immortality, but it is also undeniable that the idea of time and death constantly haunt the author, adversely influencing his personal fears, rendering the latter to be subjective. Nonetheless, though it is conceded that Diaz is power hungry for a superior status, i.e., dominance and power over his lovers, I believe that the author finds comfort when he is able to vent out his actual feelings through the novel, using ambiguous words, to channel his grievance as an act of voice against his individual circumstance, the latter as it was experienced in his conservative era. In fact, the author has been open to criticism and subject of much debate in recent times. As Diaz says, The dyad of Yunior and Oscar drives much of what ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

While single sex instruction has since a long time ago existed in numerous non public schools, it s a moderately new choice for state funded schools. The National Association for Single Sex Public Education gauges that around 400 government funded schools now offer some type of single sex training. What is filling this development? What s more, what are the dangers and advantages of single sex training? Presenting the defense for single sex training The individuals who advocate for single sex training in government funded schools contend that: Ad Some guardians don t need their kids to be in blended sexual orientation classrooms in light of the fact that, particularly at specific ages, understudies of the inverse sex can be a diversion. Leonard Sax and others concur that simply setting young men in isolated classrooms from young ladies achieves little. Be that as it may, single sex training upgrades understudy achievement when educators use procedures intended for the sex of their understudies. Some examination demonstrates that young ladies learn better when classroom temperature is warm, while young men perform better in cooler classrooms. On the off chance that that is valid, then the temperature in a solitary sex classroom could be set to streamline the learning of either male or female understudies. Some exploration and reports from teachers propose that solitary sex training can widen the instructive prospects for both young ladies and young men. It s also to widen your horizons; to make you a better citizen; to help you to evaluate information; to help you make your way through the world; to help you be more creative. My home tastes like sunlight on autumn leaves. Every place has a taste, but I will never forget the taste of the majesty of the San Juan Mountains. The first time I laid eyes upon the San Juan Mountains, I couldn t believe that I was only a few miles away from the cold desert that is Colorado. The further into the rugged mountain range the highway led me, the more awe and disbelief fell upon me. I felt small, and as if I was the first person to ever discover those hidden valleys that support entire ecosystems of plants and animals. The scattered puffs of cloud above me painted shadows along the razor edged peaks, giving an appearance of a mural, rather than massive chunks of rock carved away by the centuries. I could hear nothing except for the pounding of far off waterfalls and the whispering of the pines, who shared secrets that nobody but they would ever know. I felt like an intruder, and yet welcomed. I was lost, but at home. Around a bend, and out of the blue, there came a town. Even so far from the nearest city, the town was butsling. Main Street was lined with colorful buildings restored from the Victorian era. A two floor hotel, elegant even in it s old age, announced its presence at the corner of an intersection. The stout brick walls stood fortified, defying the valley winds. The occasional house could be seen through the tightly packed boutiques, shops, and art galleries. One was baby blue and white, another, the color of dried saffron. Further on down Main Street, natural hot springs revealed themselves. People of every age packed into the heated pools. A vicious game of volleyball had commenced, and more people were flocking to the net even in the second it took to drive past. Eventually, the quaint Main Street ended, and the highway led the car through several switchbacks that twisted up the side of the valley. At the top, a weather worn sign named the town Ouray , and the sight below was one to behold. Ouray spread through the bowl formed when rivers and mountains collide, spreading to the edges until not a shed more could ve been built. But the highway kept leading, and the car kept ... This compromise is hopefully long lasting and satisfying to both sides and brings with it a rest. The Compromise of 1850 sounds like exactly that, but there is more to this compromise. This compromise came when there was much dispute about the future of the western lands recently acquired from the Mexican government California, Utah, and New Mexico. The Southerners of America wanted the states entered into the union as slave states, while the Northerners wanted them entered as free states. When this issue became more heated and continued to escalate, The Great Compromiser, Mr. Henry Clay himself, came out of retirement to do his thing and create a compromise. He proposed that California would enter the union as a Slave State and Utah and New Mexico would enter as neutral, being neither a slave nor free state. Parts of both the North and the South hated and liked this plan. Some misanthropists in the South threatened to secede from the union and while the majority knew that to be rubbish at the time, it did eventually come true with the start of the Civil War. The North wanted to see slavery come to an end and were fighting tooth and nail to see that through. After months of debating and changes made to Clay s compromise it was eventually put into action. So, this sets the stage so that we, the audience, may know to look deeper into his films than just what is portrayed on the surface. The evolution of Hitchcock s ideas on sexuality came from his schooling and progressed throughout his film career. From looking into his schooling, I have found evidence that Hitchcock had received mixed messages. In the Jesuit school where he studied, he learned, women were at least a distraction, often a temptation, and in some cases dangerous (Hurley 219). However, he also retained many moral ideas including some awareness of sex and love as having divine origins (222). These two notions intrigued Hitchcock to begin exploring the sexual side of humanity within his films. Before he even began his career, one can see that the film that emerged during the last of his schooling became even more sexually overt (219). Through the beginning of his career, Hitchcock avoided depicting overt sexual overtones. In the 1950 s, Hitchcock clung to his themes which included, the coy sexuality (Silet). However, ... They turn to unions to help bridge the gap and ease the power differential that exists between employers and their employees. In order for a group of employees to obtain representation, they must undergo an election process to choose their union or decide if they, as a unit, want a union at all (Cox, Bok, Gorman, Finkin, 2012). Here, we will discuss the history of and changes to the manner in which employee votes have been counted to determine an outcome in these elections. 1. Prior to the National Mediation Board s (NMB) 2010 rule change, what was the primary difference between how the election results were counted under the NLRA and the Railway Labor Act (RLA)? For approximately seventy five years the only option an employee had to submit a vote against union representation was to not vote at all. Opinions regarding ADHD range from not believing it exists at all to believing there are genetic and physiological bases for the condition as well as disagreement about the use of stimulant medications in treatment. Some sociologists consider ADHD to be a classic example of the medicalization of deviant behavior, defining a previously non medical problem as a medical one. Most healthcare providers in U.S. accept that ADHD is a genuine disorder with debate in centering mainly around how it is diagnosed and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With regard to genetic studies, research has demonstrated the fact that genetic influences are involved. Family studies, molecular genetics, and twin studies have explained the familial nature of ADHD. Regarding family studies, there is a high probability of a child being diagnosed with the disorder if the siblings or parents are also affected. In addition, about 33.3% of fathers who in their childhood had ADHD are likely to bear children who have the disorder. This is an indication that among first degree relatives of affected parents or siblings, there is a 6 8X risk of an ADHD relative to the prevalence of ADHD in the general population. Further evidence has been obtained from twin studies by comparing the rate of concordance between monozygotic (MZ) and dizygotic (DZ) twins. All of the genes are shared in the case of MZ twins whereas in DZ twins only 50% of segregating genes are shared on average. A study that involved comparing the rate of concordance between the two types of twins revealed that among MZ twins, the rate of concordance ranged between 58% and 82%. For the same sex in DZ twins, the rate was 31% 38%. These results provided more evidence to the heritable nature of ADHD. However, the fact that the rate of concordance in MZ twins was less than 100% in all the studies conducted implies the involvement of environmental components in the aetiology of ADHD. • 37. The Election of 1800 Essay The election of 1800 was a fight between the democratic republicans and the federalists party for presidency. It also became the first time in American History where there was a peaceful shift in the political party, from the federalists party to the democratic republicans party (Jeffersonians). The election of 1800 consists of five candidates, each believing that victory by the other side would ruin their nation. The candidates were, Aaron Burr and Thomas Jefferson in the democratic republican party, and John Adams, Charles Pinckney, and John Jay in the federalist party; The major presidential candidate in the election of 1800, were John Adams, running for his second term in office, against his old friend, the democratic republicans ... The main result of the election of 1800 was the peaceful transition of political power and the tie between the two democratic republican candidates, Thomas Jefferson and Aaron Burr with seventy three votes each. The decision was then to be made by the House of Representatives. Due to Alexander Hamilton s help and persuasion by choosing Thomas Jefferson as the lesser of two evils, the House of Representatives elected Thomas Jefferson as president and Aaron Burr as vice president. As a result of the 1800 election, the Congress and the states passed the Twelfth Amendment in 1804 separating the ballots for the president and for the vice president to prevent the same crisis in the future. [The outcomes of the election] revealed strong sectional divisions (Nash 243). With only the middle states being challenged choosing between the federalists and democratic republican. It was clear that New England, New York City, and Philadelphia would support John Adams and his federalist party and ideas, due to their commercial ties with Great Britain. As a result, John Adams and his pro British views were popular amongst merchants, manufactures, and commercial farmers near the coasts. The South on the other hand, supported Thomas Jefferson and his democratic republican views. Thomas Jefferson s popularity rose with many old federalists who were artisans and urban workers. Hydraulic fracturing is an extremely controversial topic, raising concerns of safety and of economic feasibility by both affected or non affected citizens and members of government. Nonetheless, the negative attributes of fracking, such as fracking fluid dispersal and other environmental issues are outweighed by the vast economic gains and can be mitigated by a system of regulations and development of new technologies for the industry. Weinandy s Essay Who Is Israel The questions, what does it suggest in saying that this new solidarity, effected by Christ, is what we call the Church, and what does this imply concerning the importance of visible communion as a visible solidarity among those renewed in Christ? become answerable by revisiting and binding together the three original questions presented at the start of the course. These original questions, Who is Israel, Who is Jesus, and Who is the church, demonstrate a synchronistic relationship with each other. By reviewing them and, illustrating their connectivity we can begin to see how one can draw inferences regarding the new visual solidarity manifested in the church. Augustine, with Jesus as its head and us as the body, shows an intimacy between the Head and the body leading us to mystical union with Christ. Continuing, Augustine insists not only will Christ make us one in Him, but one person, and that the church s structure reflects not a series of individuals but a unity speaking as one. St Gregory demonstrates this in his expositions on the Psalms, Psalm 60, The psalm, he says, speaks as though one single person is praying. But it is not a lone individual; it is a unity speaking as one. In Christ, He molds us into one person whose head is in heaven and whose limbs are toiling on earth. Gregory the Great echoes Augustine s usage of the word person in the same way. He says, Our redeemer has shown himself to be one person with the holy Church, whom he has taken to himself. Hence, one can conclude that as members united with Christ as the body to the head, Christ transfigured us into his selfless gift of love. The Muller cell s endfoot was of particular interest, and scientists wanted to observe the affects the endfoot has on conductance and resistance, as well as its overall purpose. The results from this experiment could then provide us with a more generalized view of the purpose that other glial cells, especially astrocytes, have in the brain. It was hypothesized that if most of the Muller cell s conductance was located in the endfoot, then the resistance in the endfoot would also vary significantly compared to the rest of the cell and this would have huge impacts on how potassium ions removed from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The measurement of resistance in the Muller cell with the endfoot still intact was much lower than when the resistance in the cell after the endfoot had been removed. Additionally, when researchers cut a part of the cell above the endfoot, leaving the endfoot untouched, the cell resistance did increase slightly, but not by very much. These observations helped to prove that the endfoot, not other parts of the cell, contributes to most of the cell s resistance, and therefore conductance. When measuring impedance in the cell, the endfoot impedance increased when penetrated, while other parts of the cell showed no real changes. When KCl solution was added into the cell and the amount of potassium ion efflux was recorded along the cell, it was found that about the same amount of potassium efflux occurred all along the cell membrane, with the endfoot having a much greater efflux of potassium ions than anywhere else on the Muller cell. All in all, it was determined that the Muller endfoot is not only where the highest conductance and lowest membrane resistance in the cell is locate, but also where the most potassium channels are located. Therefore, the endfoot greatly controls how much potassium ion movement. This goes for Muller ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are few topologies (star, bus, loop or mesh) and types of networks (LAN, WAN or MAN) which are to be considered and then need to work on the architecture accordingly. • 45. Themes In Robert Frost s The Road Not Taken THE ROAD NOT TAKEN Robert Frost s The Road Not Taken, is a poem, or even a tale many readers will relate to. It is a narrative of the choices in life and the crossroads in which the individual is faced with. In the lines, there is quite clarity in the decisions and feelings of Frost throughout. His use of imagery to paint beautiful landscapes and countless sub thoughts is extraordinary, yet he does it with such few words. Although one could see this poem for how it reads and view the story of a solemn traveler pacing down a road, when diving deep into its actual text one sees that Frost is trying to paint a much deeper picture. This metaphor of a poem is written a way that anybody who reads it can understand and relate. From each of the simple lines to the groupings of intricately placed words, this work of art brings out the meaning and passion in a well lived life. In the first stanza the setting is laid out before us. A fork in the road in the middle of a yellow wood. These two paths are unknown to the solemn traveler. The first line in the poem states yellow wood, which gives the feeling that it would be more of an autumn season. The autumn season is the beginning of dormancy in the forest life. It also signals the nearing end of another joyous year. In life we have cycles just like the seasons cycle. Periods of new growth such as spring or a new relationship perhaps. Summer, where we are enjoying the things we have to the fullest. There is fall, when something nears to an end such as a vacation, the ending of the year or maybe childhood when one must think about getting out in the world. Then, there is winter: the darker portion of the cycle of life. The point in which we are waiting for the new to begin or praying for the hurt to subside. This cycle of life, and particularly the season of autumn, seems to pair up with the fork in the road or the point where the traveler is ending this stretch of road and must embark upon a new path. Just as it is in life when one period begins to draw to an end we must begin to think of the next set of choices or paths to take. Most options in life do not allow for someone to have both. Just as the traveler we, too, must choose a path for ourselves. In the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Even though the business will be at the peak in summer and will slow down in winter, a close monitoring on the international prices is a must. The future plan of the company is to expand in other continents by giving out franchise. So if it winter in US we generate business revenue from countries like Australia and New Zealand where they would have summer. To keep standard pricing and profit margin for the franchises, a detailed costing would be required. The things that are needed to be considered would be Cost of Lemon, Cost of Sugar, Cost of water, Cost of container, 10% overheads (labor, rent, utilities, etc), 5% franchising fee and 7% profit margin. In addition to this pricing 2% price fluctuation will be added to the cost. With this calculation the company and the franchises should make enough money to survive in the competitive market. Global Market: Even though the product can be packed in a container and can be sold globally, I would prefer to have local franchises so that we can provide pure and authentic lemonade without preservatives as we promised. Combining with other groups also introduced the notion of social loafing which is defined as the process in which individuals are seemingly less motivated when working in teams and will exert less effort compared if they were working alone (McShane, Steen, Tasa, 2015).
