Jaguar Land Rover Essay
In June 2008, India based Tata Motors Ltd. announced that it had completed the acquisition of the
two iconic British brands Jaguar and Land Rover (JLR) from the US based Ford Motors for US$
2.3 billion. Tata Motors stood to gain on several fronts from the deal. One, the acquisition would
help the company acquire a global footprint and enter the high end premier segment of the global
automobile market. After the acquisition, Tata Motorswould own the world s cheapest car the US$
2,500 Nano, and luxury marquees like the Jaguar and Land Rover. Though there was initial
scepticism over an Indian company owning the luxury brands, ownership was not considered a
major issue at all. According to industry analysts, some of the issues that... Show more content on

true to our principles of allowing the management and employees to bring their experience and

The Deal
On March 26, 2008, Tata Motors entered into an agreement with Ford for the purchase of JLR.

JLR. As part of the acquisition, Tata Motors did not inherit any of the debt liabilities of JLR the
acquisition was totally debt free.
The Benefits

Social Class And Gender Equality In Charlotte Bronte s...
Men are sexist creatures who deserve every cruel act they have inflicted on women for centuries.
So say the radical feminists of the twenty first century who follow misandry, which is the hatred of
men. In fact, nineteenth century author, Charlotte Bronte, stood for the opposite as she believed in
equality for all. She was against the public view that only men were allowed to be in the political
and public spheres of society while women did not even own themselves. In spite of the efforts
produced by feminists from the nineteenth century, misandry has created a border between these
feminist s beliefs and values to the radical feminists of the twenty first century. Furthermore,
Charlotte Bronte s values of social class and genderequality in Jane Eyre are perhaps in response to
Abigail Adams Remember the Ladies, in which, Adam s demonstrates the issues of societal values.
These issues continue to echo in Sarah McVeigh s interview with Jessa Crispin in Why I m not a
feminist, where Crispin implies twenty first century feminists create a backlash in society as they
result in misandry.
In the nineteenth century, Charlotte Bronte experienced society s hierarchy of social class and
gender stereotypes first hand. In response to society s hierarchy, Charlotte Bronte integrates her
experience of entrapment in society classes through Jane Eyre by stating, a flock of white plumy
birds (160). The key point Bronte emphasizes the comparison that women are like beautiful white

Immortals Of Shiva
IMMORTALS OF MELUHA BOOK REVIEW
Summary: Immortals of Meluha by Amish is the first book of Shiva trilogy that focuses on the
making of the legend of lord Shiva. The story starts with the journey of a person called Shiva.. He
migrates from his home territory to Meluha in search of safety and shelter. Shiva has to abandon his
native place as it is frequently attacked by neighbouring barbarian tribes leading to violence and
bloodshed. When Shiva abandons his land he meets Nandi, who is an outsider who comes from
Meluha and offers Shiva a safe passage to his land. Shiva accepts his proposal for the purpose of
saving his community from the barbarians. Shiva s arrival in Meluha started his adventure of
Neelkanth the man with blue throat . Shiva s throat turns azure as soon as he drinks Somras. The

It uses unique terminologies. The best part of book is its story. The author has portrayed our
classical legends like Shiva, Sati, Nandi, Birbhadra, Daksh as true human beings of flesh and
blood and has used our Classical legends as the springboard of his story. Author uses a lot of
modern world lingo and also author describes characters a bit modern. The characters are not new,
but the tales, told in the third person narration, are totally a creation of notional thinking. The
objectivity of the author over the pivotal question of Virtue/Vice also allows the readers to form
their opinion independently and rationally. True to its pseudo epics structure, the author has
broken the stories into small episodes and readers will be attracted to it once they start reading.
There is a veracious unity of Time, Place and action in the book though some reliable distractions

In term of business strategies, there should be hundreds definitions, especially in such a huge field
as marketing. Marketing strategy is the process that the firm uses to translate its business objectives
and strategies into market activities. To be more specific, a marketing strategy enables the company
to select a target segment and localize the desired position that the products aim to target customer
then specify the plan for the promoting activities to get the goal (Silk, 2006). The key for the
managers and their business to achieve success is to understand how to harness the organization s
resources to meet customer s needs using marketing analysis, understand competitors, consider
political issues, technological and external and internal changes, government actions as well as
globalization (Gauzente et al., 2004)
In case of Red Bull, the company shows an image of a friendly small sized enterprise. Said
Dolan (2005), in 2004, Red Bull used $600 million on its marketing plans such as sport
sponsorship, events and impressed design (Gschwandtner, 2004). The company does not use any
kind of direct marketing tools and has sponsored five hundred sports athletes in many sport
subjects, for instance Formula 1 Skiing, Free Climbing... Red Bull created a buzz marketing plan
in brand recognition. The managers of Red Bull seem to be judicious when they produce a series of

How Does Global Warming Affect The Arctic
Our earth is undergoing a lot of changes caused by Global warming. This is a world issue that
impacts the whole earth. Polar regions are very sensitive to these changes in temperatures. Global
warming is affecting climate change on Arctic species and is likely to be felt globally. The
average temperature increase annually in the arctic is almost twice the global average. This is
causing any problems, some of which will be discussed further on.
Global Warming is affecting the climatein the Arctic in many drastic ways. Animals such as the
Polar bear are having their habitat disappear at an alarming rate. This is causing many of them to
starve as their ice platforms are melting. These platforms allow the polar bears to hunt deep into the
waters providing rest breaks as well as cover for hunting. Krill, a major food source are also

Arctic sea levels are increasing by a lot and are predicting to change global climate and
precipitation patterns. Melting ice is expected to cause ocean water to speed up and oceans water
to rise. This will cause some areas of land to be affected from the rise in sea level.
Global warming is caused by human activities like burning fossil fuel, deforestation and farming.
This is also known as the greenhouse effect. The greenhouse effect has much stronger results in
the arctic as small changes in temperature have very strong reactions. While average temperatures
have increased, the warming at the pole has more than doubled the global average. According to
NASA, arctic sea ice is now declining at a rate of 13.2% per decade.
What will our earth look like in 50 years?
Some scientists believe in the future idea know as warm Arctic, cold continents They believe we

VIA Survey Of Character Strengths Survey
Based off my result after taking the VIA Survey of Character Strengths survey my first strength is
my judgment, my effective use of critical thinking, and my open mindedness. I agree with this
because I actually spend more time thinking things through and assessing the cost and rewards
than I do with the action I was originally thinking about. The Second Strength was Fairness,
equity, and justice. I do agree with this strength but its description is not how I would describe it.
I treat all people fairly and how I would want to be treated. I may give everyone a chance but
ultimately I believe you get what you give; if you treat others good will get the same in return. I
completely agree with the third strength Hope, optimism, and future mindedness.

Analysis of the Film The Rise of the Planet of the Apes Essay
The movie that I choose to watch is The Rise of the Planet of the Apes . In class we learned that
primates have different categories. The categories include; movement, reproduction, intelligence
and behavior patterns. In the movie, the main ape, Caesar, as well as the other primates in the
movie shows examples of these categories. Although, like most modern day movies, some
behaviors and characteristics are not true and do not relate to the material that we studied in class.
This film was made in 2011 starring James Franco as the main character, Dr. Will Rodman. The
movie takes place in San Francisco, where Will works in a laboratory hoping to discover a cure for
Alzheimer s disease. The main thought in Will s head every day, is trying... Show more content on

first day that he brought Caesar home, Caesar already knew the correct way to hold a bottle and

would do. Impressed with the results Will was finding from Caesar, Will takes a chance and
steals some of the ALZ 112 from the lab to bring home to Charles. After giving the shot to his
father, his father quickly recovered and no longer had any symptoms relating to Alzheimer s
disease. Unfortunately the medicine did not permanently cure Charles, years later he returned
back to his old ways. When Caesar looks outside his window, he sees Charles getting yelled at by
neighbor. Protective over Charles, Caesar runs outside and attacks the man, which resulted in
Caesar being taken away from his family and imprisoned in an ape sanctuary.
While begin in the sanctuary, Caesar along with the other apes are not treated very well. From
the mistreatment, Caesar starts to make plans about how to escape. He would draw on the walls
of his cage, and think of a route to break free. When the owners son takes his friends into the
sanctuary, one boy went over to see Caesar, this gave the intelligent ape to steal the pocket knife
that the boy had without him knowing. Caesar makes a tool that helps him to unlock his cage and

The Nazis And The Nazi Regime
The Nazis, who came to power with the leader Adolf Hitler in Germany in January 1933, believed
in a radical genetic restricting of society where ethnic cleansing of Jews was the main priority. Nazi
regime wanted to make German Aryan race superior and the Jews were considered inferior within
German racial community. The Holocaustwas state sponsored organized oppression and homicide
of six million Jews by the Nazi regime. During the era of the Holocaust, German authorities also
targeted other groups, and the process involved, the sterilization of those thought to be social
misfits, the killing of the disabled, homosexuals and Roma, the enslaving of Slavs and the selective
dispensing of welfare according to interpretations of genetic worth (Finaldi, 96). After Nazis took
over the government in Germany, their National Socialist government established concentration
camps for their political opponents. However, before the outbreak of war, Nazi officials started
using these camps for incarceration of Jews, and other victims of racial and ethnic hatred. Millions
of innocent people were murdered just because of their ethnic or racial differences, however,
thousands were lucky enough to survive from Nazi tyranny.
Schindler s List by Steven Spielberg is one of the greatest films that has ever been filmed. It
emphasizes the characteristics of Nazi regime, and not only portrays the Holocaust, but it also
awakens human emotions and gives hope to the humanity. The entire film

opens in a tentative, mysterious mood, but then turns warmly Romantic, the piano dominating
throughout. The Duett that follows, marked Slowly and with feeling, is for cello and violin, the
piano providing a soft, running accompaniment to their passionate singing. The Finale, designated
in March tempo, exhibits a heroic character at the outset, but turns lighter and more playful in
succeeding variations. The main theme returns and the subdued, lively ending are sheer magic in

ABSTRACT
In the present work, PVA Ag nanocomposite films with thickness 0.18 mm, constant silvercontent
(0.4 wt. %) and different time of reactions (0.1, 3, 5, 7, 9 h) were prepared by chemical reduction
methods. Surface topology, optical and electrical properties of PVA Ag nanocompositewere studied
using absorption spectroscopy, electrometer, atomic force microscope (AFM) and
photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy were used to characterize the prepared nanocomposites.
Optical absorption coefficient studies showed a peak at 427 nm for all samples, in addition to the
peak at 200 nm for undoped PVA film. There is observable change in the absorbed intensity at 427
nm with the time of reaction. The refractive index was found increase with increasing the time of
reaction. It was found that the root mean square (RMS) roughness. Frank poole emission is the
prevailing transport mechanism for all samples. While PL intensity at 427 nm increase as the time

The Aging Process For The Older Adults Essay
Successful Aging Paper
Albatul Albulayhi
University of the Incarnate Word Successful Aging Paper
Aging is inevitable; as people age in the second half of life, the body often faces some challenges
mentally and physically. Aging was defined by Robert Arking (1998), as a Time dependent series of
cumulative, progressive, intrinsic, and harmful changes that begin to manifest at reproductive
maturity and eventually end in death (p. 520). The aging process for the older adults is influenced
by many aspects, including socioeconomic status, age, education, and scale of physical and
cognitive functioning. As people get older, their financial status, security, health, employment,
productivity, and independence are all significant parts of the process. Some older adults
experience illnesses that come with aging, and the illnesses do not distinguish by culture or
religion. Friendships that have grown up throughout the years are a significant aspect of aging
well, although for some older people it becomes difficult to keep in touch with friends, family,
society, or other loved ones. Financial status may become limited as a person ages. Successful
aging is one of the most significant ideas in gerontology (Katz Calasanti, 2015). Utilized as a
model, a concept, an approach, an experience, and an outcome, it has inspired investigators to
create related terms such as healthy, positive, active, productive, and effective aging (Katz
Calasanti, 2015). John Rowe and

Comparing Hoot Film and Novel
Hoot
Among many books that were written and later made into films, the relation between the two can
be vastly different, or practically identical. Though there are many similarities between the novel
Hoot written by Carl Hiaasen, and the film directed by Wil Shriner, there are some differences as
well. As a young man, Roy Eberhardt was a strange individual. Hoot, both the film and the novel,
are based on a boy s new life in Coconut Cove, Florida. As most would expect, starting a new life in
a place that you ve never been before, isn t exactly a cup of tea. Roy grew up being the nerdy,

whole scene at the restaurant was cut out and went directly to Officer Delinko confronting his

described as being young and loyal by his boss and his dad. He is the leading, as known as only

vandalized as well. Along with this particular incident, when Officer Delinko s police car was

would take for repairs to be completed and during the film, he was given a golf cart type vehicle
to drive until his personal car was finished being repaired. During the film, when Roy had

book his told them his name was Tex. In both stories, the hospital later found out that he had been
faking the scenario and was released back into his parents custody. One major flaw within the

Research Paper On Child Slavery
Child Slavery Up until the 13th amendment, owning a slave had been just like owning any other
piece of property. No one felt guilty about how the slaves were being mistreated. The 13th
amendment was the first step in ending slavery in the United States, but no steps were taken to end
slavery in other countries. Even though people believe that slaveryno longer exists today, about 5.5
million children are still held captive in slavery (Anti Slavery International 2012). Child slavery
can come in many different forms. There are a few differences between child work, child labor,
and child slavery. Child work is beneficial to the child. Work can be used to gain skills or
knowledge that is essential for the child growing up. Work can also be a source of income for a
family. Child labor is the child being taken away from an education and development. An
example of child labor would be a ten year old child working for a company when the labor laws
say that the minimum working age is 15. The worst form of child labor is when the child is
doing hazardous work. Any work that is dangerous to the child is considered hazardous work.
Slavery and slavery like practices are the major and most common types of child labor. Child
trafficking is transporting children away from their homes and families, so they can be exploited
for sex or labor. The children are left vulnerable and at the mercy of their employers (Anti Slavery
International). In 1948, the Universal Declaration of Human

Egyptian Pyramid Construction
Thousands of years ago, the ancient Egyptians used different type of stone materials to build the
Great Pyramids as it is known, Egypt is a very rich country with stones that it was referred to as
the state of stone . It has a great amount of various limestone formation which the Egyptians used to
call the white stone . Egypt is also rich with sandstone, but it was not really used that often during
that era.
Most of these materials were not that rough. They used low grade limestone to build the pyramid
core, and fine white limestone to employ for the outer casing as well as to cover interior walls,
also pink granite was more often used on inner walls. Basalt was one of the most common material

The stone was a poor quality material, it was layered in regular, strong formations with half a

According to the history, most temples of Egypt, especially in the north area, incorporated a
mound of earth to represent a symbol of the original site of all life. The Egyptians started shaping
such mounds as a small hill of earth or sand, but then these mounds eventually took the form of a
small pyramid carved from a single block of stone.
Therefore, it looks like the pyramid shape represented the idea of their belief that a new life,

Vincristine
This is a mitotic inhibitor that acts by binding to the tubulin dimmers, thus blocking the assembly of

Daunorubicin is an anti tumour drug (anthrocycline), which is originated from streptomyes

It mechanism of action involves the intercalation of DNA, thus inhibiting macromolecular
biosynthesis. It inhibits the enzyme topoisomerase II, which is responsible for relaxing the
supercoils in DNA. It stabilises the topoisomerase II complex after it has un winded the DNA for

problem with the country s deficit is not news unheard of. Overcoming the problem has shown its

Although the country is severely in debt and cuts definitely need to be made, it is not right that the
children of America have to pay for the consequences. Why make children pay for something they

where their environment is loving, supportive and concerned, they would most likely approach a

Political policy making within the bureaucracy is a constantly changing the face within the
American government. Previous to the birth of administrative law, elected officials such as
legislatures, executives and members of the judicial branch handled these decisions. Roughly,
ninety percent of Laws , governing our everyday life are not even laws. Rather, these are the
products of rule making for quasi judicial, quasi legislative administrative agencies. Obviously,
administrative decisions affect millions of people. Yet, few if any are able to understand what has

When information was released to the public in 1939, tobacco companies found ways to discredit,
and silence the public concern. In fact, previous to this tobacco manufacturers claimed an increase
in health and medicinal properties for tobacco products. With the formation of the Council for
Tobacco Research, in 1954, a direct link was sought between smoking and health related problems.
Upon the finding of such evidence major cigarette manufacturers unite.
Under the unified front of The Tobacco Institute, big tobacco sought to change government from
within. As stated in the book, Those who want to initiate change in policy have come to
recognize that their cause will succeed only with hard work, careful strategy, and large portions of
luck (37). With the help of former Senators and previously and elected officials tobacco had the
ear of government. One such example of this would be former Senator Earle C. Clements of
Kentucky. Clements former constituency base of Kentucky had afforded him the experience of
dealing with tobacco, as Kentucky and North Carolina are the primary producers of tobacco within
the United States. So with this inside knowledge of previously working in Washington, combined
with his work in Kentucky, Clements rightfully proposed a compromise between Federal Trade
Commission and the six largest cigarette manufacturers he was hired by in 1964.

The Tribulation In Eudora Welty s A Worn Path
A Worn Path by Eudora Welty tells the tale of an old African American woman who must make a
perilous journey through the woods in order to obtain medication for her ill grandson. Phoenix

South so it is no surprise that she is able to make the seemingly impossible trek across the
Mississippi woods time and time again. Phoenix is faced with countless obstacles along her way

The Cabinet Of Dr Caligari Essay
Around the premonition of the rising of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party, two German World War I
veterans named Hans Janowitz and Carl Mayer wrote the script for the German silent film, The
Cabinet of Dr. Caligari . Based on experience from their time in the German military, they wrote the
script based on the mistrust of authority while with the military in World War I. The plot tells the
story of a crazy hypnotist, Dr. Caligari, who hypnotizes and uses a somnambulist, Cesare, to
commit murders. Dr. Caligari represented the murderous authority that the German war government
and Cesare is symbolic of the common man, who is conditioned to kill. Siegfried Kracauer, the
author of From Caligari to Hitler, speaks about the inability of the Germany s unwillingness to rebel

Hydrogen Fuel or Others Essay
Hydrogen Fuel or Others
It is stated in the article Benefits of a Hydrogen Economy in Hydrogen Future that if we use
hydrogen as an energy source in the U.S.A, it could help address concerns about energy security,
global climate change, and air quality. Hydrogen fuel cells appear to be an one important enabling
technology for increasing energy savings and reducing global climate change; however, I suggest
that much more research is needed before the nation becomes absorbed in developing the hydrogen
economy. In addition to the hydrogen fuel cells, the nation should continue to investigate other
technologies such as new generation diesel, hybrids and solar cells. At present these technologies
have come to maturity to some degree. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For that reason, it is likely that GHG emissions might not be reduced even if hydrogen fuel cells
could be put to practical use.
Moreover, another vulnerable point was mentioned in the article Road to Hydrogen Cars May
Not Be So Clean. Hydrogen is a very leaky gas that could escape from cars and hydrogen plants
into the atmosphere. Hydrogen that leaks into the atmosphere binds with oxygen molecules,
forming vapor and clouds. This could lead to additional global warming according to Tim
Patterson, a professor at Carlton University in Canada. He claims that the amount of water vapor
in the atmosphere has the most significant influence on global temperature. And Catherine G.
Padro, at Los Alamos National Laboratory, says that hydrogen can act as a kind of CFC,
destroying part of the earth s atmospheric ozone which shields us from cancer causing solar
radiation. At present, there are still a lot of problems which should be investigated in detail before
we commit ourselves to the use of hydrogen fuel cells.
On the other hand, hybrid petrol electric cars such as the Toyota Prius are becoming increasingly
popular. Compared with new American cars of the same size, the Prius consumes roughly half as

What Is The Theme Of The Scarlet Ibis
The Scarlet Ibis What is a good brother? Is it someone who tries to kill you? Make you suffer for
selfish reasons? Or is it being embarrassed that you have a mentally challenged sibling? Well, the
narrator in The Scarlett Ibis felt that doing such things was acceptable. The narrator did not treat his
brother fairly.
For instance, the narrator was not an admirable brother to Doodle. Doodle did not know how to
walk or do things that most kids know how to do. To begin with, the narrator told the readers,
When Doodle was five years old, I was embarrassed at having a brother of that age who couldn t
walk, so I set out to teach him. Doodle s brother was ashamed of having a brother who did not
appear to look normal. The narrator taught his brother to walk only for the narrator s wants. School

Film Noir Analysis
With its tone and specific style, Film Noir has become one of the prominent elements that helped
shape the American cinema. Within film noir, drama, romance, thriller, and crime are the main
genres that can be seen in noir films. From all this amalgamation of genres, the topic of whether
film noir is a genre or not does seem interesting, but it is particularly the themes and the style that
seems to generate this conversation. Film noiritself can be seen as more of a film movement than a
genre.
Paul Schrader mentions how it presents a specific period of film history, portraying the world of
dark, slick city streets, crime, and corruption. If this were to be about genres, this description would

These include cars, cafes, offices, and trains, and the films would typically come up with public
places in order to emphasize how crimes can happen to anyone at any time and place. The intro
of Robert Siodmak s 1946 film The Killers places two hitmen in a diner with a customer and two
workers, and the intensity ensues right when the hitmen warn them of their violence, until Swede
is killed. In Detour, the cafГ© was presented as a place of reflection for the main character, but
The Killers presents it as a more dangerous place. The movie does not start straight from the diner,
but the outdoor area just right outside the diner, and that establishes the tone and the state of that
part of town, with obscure lights, silhouettes of the hitmen, night setting, and fog. Even in such a
confined space like a diner, certain imagery like the hitmen and their guns would elicit feeling of
intimidation and tension from the rest of the characters and also the audience, especially when one
of the hitmen hides behind the window and sticks his gun out, just in case Swede enters. The
imagery of places and characters thus reminds the viewers that the outward appearances are not
what they actually seem, and one would have to look deeply to understand the full

His music is described by Eithne Quinn as embodying toughness and tenderness that he
outmatched the other G Funk artists from the time. I see the toughness from the environment he
grew up in that was filled with violence, guns, drugs, etc. Tupac lived off of the streets and grew
up with little to no privileges. As a result, he had to look out for himself and the odds were
stacked against him. Me Against the World exemplifies this struggle as he felt like it was just
him against the world at times. The word tenderness also perfectly describes Tupac s music. The
lyrics in this song sound heartfelt. He expresses how he feels about the world around him by
talking about the issues people outside of the ghetto are unaware of, but people who live in the
ghetto are used to seeing people get shot and the fear of being shot when he steps outside. As
Quinn describes it, this song and album as a whole are different from his previous work because
it focuses on his individual paranoia. It does not seem like his lyrics are targeted at one specific
audience. It sounds like he is talking to himself at some times and is retelling his experiences,
venting his frustrations with the world, and the chorus is his way of accepting his situation and
how the world is by saying, It s just me against the world and I ve got nothing to lose. In the last
verse, it sounds like he is talking to young people who

Case 3.2.4 Justification Of Antimicrobial Use
3.2.4Justification of antimicrobial use
Before initiating antimicrobial therapy, even in the case of a correct diagnosis, the practitioner
should ascertain that whether such therapy is justified and will confer the benefit to the animal.
The therapy should help to contain and limit further extension of the infection, shorten its duration
and reduce the risk of systemic complications. Ideally, only diseased animals should be treated,
and the treatment should be as individual as possible. However, in the case of poultry this is not
practical, and mass treatment is accepted following a relevant diagnosis. Metaphylaxis should be
avoided and prophylaxis should be kept to a minimum. Routine prophylactic use of antimicrobials
as a substitute for health management should be discouraged. In routine surgical procedures in
animals, administration of antimicrobials may not be always necessary since aseptic techniques
and hygienic measures can replace the need for antimicrobials in most of the cases. Off label use of
antimicrobials should be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Antimicrobial activity may be reduced significantly in pus, which contains phagocytes, cellular
debris, and proteins that can bind or create conditions unfavorable to drug action. Low pH,
characteristic of the fluid in abscesses and in other confined infected sites (pleural space, CSF, and
urine), and anaerobic conditions can reduce the antimicrobial activity of some agents markedly,
particularly the aminoglycosides. In addition, penetration of antimicrobial agents into infected
areas such as abscess cavities can be impaired because the vascular supply is reduced. Incision and
drainage is thus the preferred method for successful therapy of abscesses. The presence of a foreign

One Important Feature of the U.S Congress Congress is a vital component of our government. It
has a great amount of authority over foreign affairs, a bicameral legislature which seeks to
balance power, as well as having power over economic matters under Article I Section 8 of the
Constitution (The Logic of American Politics, 219). The failures of the Articles of Confederation
called for a stronger government demanded by the people of America. The Legislative, Judicial,

much control under the branches of government, being able to deal with affairs outside of the
country as well as having the Senate and House of Representatives. The structure of Congress...

A Portrait Of A Rebellious, Independent Mulan
To construct a portrait of a rebellious, independent Mulan, two characteristics that are preferred by
Western audiences, Disney chooses to keep only a few of the functions from the source tale. In
order to set the stage for her climatic moment of redemption, Mulan must have a villain to struggle
against. She is not just in a war, but is locked in a battle with the leader of the opposing army, Shan
Yu, almost singlehandedly saving the emperor. She defeats not only Shan Yu but the gender
restrictions of Chinathat kept her hidden as a male in the army. Outwardly, Disney presents China s
ideology, including what is required of a woman as gender performance, as a given fact, creating a
specific narrative gaze that influences how the global... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As she states in the song, Reflection, I will never pass for a perfect bride or a perfect daughter
(Rita Hsiao). Yet, it is that exact motive, her desire to be a dutiful daughter, in the ballad that
sends her off to war, because Father has no grown up son (The Ballad of Mulan). The source
material of the ballad is highly unfamiliar to American audiences, in particular, but to the global
audience as well. This gave Disney the opportunity to reconstruct the essence of the tale to speak
more about Mulan s individualism and struggle against a repressive culture in which she cannot
show her face. Mulan: Rise of a Warrior presents a very different characterization of Mulan, a much
more mature vision of the female warrior. She witnesses the death of her comrades in battle, and
the struggle of falling in love with another soldier whom she knows at any moment might fall on
the battlefield.
I argue that the lack of positive reception towards Disney s Mulan is a lack of semantic fit. Mary
Yoko Brannen creates this term in her article, When Mickey Loses Face: Recontextualization,
Semantic Fit, and the Semiotics of Foreignnes. She defines semantic fit as taking place on the
discursive level of semiotics, when the signifier, the word or image, is abstracted from its original
context and so its meaning has been lost (602). She argues that

Ethical Dilemmas In The Classroom Analysis

other children could potentially pick up on this as well. The parent/director should facilitate

not addressing the behavior of their child, this sends mixed messages to the class. In addition, this
does not allow the children the opportunity to cope with the behavior, hence allowing for a healthy

What Are The Changes In Colonial America
Once the colonists left England and arrived in North America, their diet changed dramatically.
Instead of having the foods they were accustomed to, they had to adapt to fit their environment.
The colonists were also accustomed to a regular eating schedule that they would soon have to
change. The colonists would eat an early breakfast, an early dinner and a late supper, lunch were
not included; however, all this schedule and way of doing things would soon change. Breakfast
in England usually was taken early if they were poor or later if they were rich. While most of their
breakfast consisted of of bread, bread and milk, or cornmeal mush and milk together, along with
tea. However in America, colonists rose early to start chores, then later

What Is The Difference Between Online Education And...
Even though Lacking in quality Successful on ground instruction does not always translate to
successful online instruction. If facilitators are not properly trained in online delivery and
methodologies, the success of the online program will be compromised. An instructor must be able
to communicate well in writing and in the language in which the course is offered. An online
program will be weakened if its facilitators are not adequately prepared to function in the Virtual
Classroom., Nowadays, educationbecomes one of the important things in human life. Most people
are aware of the necessity of a higher education. In this present day with the technology there are
more options to obtain education. Besides attending traditional schools, people can get an online
education. Although there is a similarity between online education and traditional education, the
differences between them are more noteworthy. because Level Playing Field When you enroll in an
online course, you retain a considerable amount of anonymity. Certain discriminating factors such
as age, physical appearance, race, gender, and even disabilities are largely absent from online
education classes. , Another differencebetween the two education styles is flexibility. Traditional
schools require their students to be physically present in a classroom. However, students having
online education can attend classes without going to school. That is because online courses are
given virtually. Therefore, there are no

The Failure Of Power In George Orwell s Animal Farm
No one knows for sure how many people were murdered during Stalin s Great Purge, but estimates
put the figure at more than 1 million. Over the course of his reign, Joseph Stalin has executed and
imprisoned perceived threats to his power. During the three public trails of former prominent
Communist Party leaders, and plenty of other private trails held, the defendants have been charged
under pretenses fabricated by the NKVD, the Soviet Secret Police. The defendants have fully
confessed to their crimes in court after facing intense beatings, sleep deprivation, and threats to
arrest and execute their families. However, the West has continued to see Stalin and the Soviet
Unionfavorably. This has urged George Orwell to write Animal Farm so he can expose the truth
about the Soviet regime. In Animal Farm, the author George Orwell uses the manipulation, and
fear of the leaders and the naivety, and loyalty of the followers to contribute to the theme of loss
of freedom and equality in order to show how power can lead to corruption. Orwell uses the
manipulation of the leaders to contribute to the theme of loss of freedom and equality in order to
show how power can lead to corruption. As stated in the text, The windmill however, had not
after all been used for generating electrical power. It was used for milling corn, and brought in a
handsome money profit (Orwell 129). This is a prime example of how the pigs capitalized on how
miserable the animals were. If Napoleon truly was who

Combating Healthcare Disparities Essay
Combating Healthcare Disparities Disparities in healthcare are a real and urgent problem in our
nation. There is indisputable data supporting the fact that disparities exist not only across
different racial groups, but also across the cultural and economic stratification of our society.
Moreover, there is even data showing disparities among each of these respective groups along
gender lines. So what can be done about these disparities to assure that all patients receive equal
and adequate care? Well, there are certainly many political and governmental changes or
modifications that would go a long way towards narrowing the gaps in healthcare, but such changes
are beyond the scope of this paper. Instead, I will focus on the steps that I,... Show more content on

Although this is a major contributing factor to healthcare disparities, it may also be the most easily
correctable! In many cases, something as simple as educating the providers about the healthcare
needs of their underserved patients and eliminating misguided and unfounded stereotypes and
preconceptions can dramatically reduce the disparities arising from this factor. In this respect, I feel
fortunate in the sense that I have had the opportunity to attend a medical school that realizes the
importance of this issue and has taken every possible opportunity to educate and train myself and
my fellow colleagues about the implications of these disparities in healthcare. As such, I feel
confident that, thanks to my knowledge and awareness of the problem, I can prevent this factor
from causing disparities in care within my own practice. As mentioned previously, another factor
that may contribute to disparities in care is the choice of location for a practice. Many patients,
particularly those who are economically disadvantaged, may have difficulty commuting to a
practice that is far from their community, especially if it is outside of the area serviced by public
transportation. Furthermore, even if they can make it to the practice, they may be placing
themselves at an even further economic

  • 3. Social Class And Gender Equality In Charlotte Bronte s... Men are sexist creatures who deserve every cruel act they have inflicted on women for centuries. So say the radical feminists of the twenty first century who follow misandry, which is the hatred of men. In fact, nineteenth century author, Charlotte Bronte, stood for the opposite as she believed in equality for all. She was against the public view that only men were allowed to be in the political and public spheres of society while women did not even own themselves. In spite of the efforts produced by feminists from the nineteenth century, misandry has created a border between these feminist s beliefs and values to the radical feminists of the twenty first century. Furthermore, Charlotte Bronte s values of social class and genderequality in Jane Eyre are perhaps in response to Abigail Adams Remember the Ladies, in which, Adam s demonstrates the issues of societal values. These issues continue to echo in Sarah McVeigh s interview with Jessa Crispin in Why I m not a feminist, where Crispin implies twenty first century feminists create a backlash in society as they result in misandry. In the nineteenth century, Charlotte Bronte experienced society s hierarchy of social class and gender stereotypes first hand. In response to society s hierarchy, Charlotte Bronte integrates her experience of entrapment in society classes through Jane Eyre by stating, a flock of white plumy birds (160). The key point Bronte emphasizes the comparison that women are like beautiful white birds ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. The Aging Process For The Older Adults Essay Successful Aging Paper Albatul Albulayhi University of the Incarnate Word Successful Aging Paper Aging is inevitable; as people age in the second half of life, the body often faces some challenges mentally and physically. Aging was defined by Robert Arking (1998), as a Time dependent series of cumulative, progressive, intrinsic, and harmful changes that begin to manifest at reproductive maturity and eventually end in death (p. 520). The aging process for the older adults is influenced by many aspects, including socioeconomic status, age, education, and scale of physical and cognitive functioning. As people get older, their financial status, security, health, employment, productivity, and independence are all significant parts of the process. Some older adults experience illnesses that come with aging, and the illnesses do not distinguish by culture or religion. Friendships that have grown up throughout the years are a significant aspect of aging well, although for some older people it becomes difficult to keep in touch with friends, family, society, or other loved ones. Financial status may become limited as a person ages. Successful aging is one of the most significant ideas in gerontology (Katz Calasanti, 2015). Utilized as a model, a concept, an approach, an experience, and an outcome, it has inspired investigators to create related terms such as healthy, positive, active, productive, and effective aging (Katz Calasanti, 2015). Even though people believe that slaveryno longer exists today, about 5.5 million children are still held captive in slavery (Anti Slavery International 2012). Child slavery can come in many different forms. There are a few differences between child work, child labor, and child slavery. Child work is beneficial to the child. Work can be used to gain skills or knowledge that is essential for the child growing up. Work can also be a source of income for a family. Child labor is the child being taken away from an education and development. An example of child labor would be a ten year old child working for a company when the labor laws say that the minimum working age is 15. The worst form of child labor is when the child is doing hazardous work. Any work that is dangerous to the child is considered hazardous work. Slavery and slavery like practices are the major and most common types of child labor. Hydrogen fuel cells appear to be an one important enabling technology for increasing energy savings and reducing global climate change; however, I suggest that much more research is needed before the nation becomes absorbed in developing the hydrogen economy. In addition to the hydrogen fuel cells, the nation should continue to investigate other technologies such as new generation diesel, hybrids and solar cells. At present these technologies have come to maturity to some degree. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For that reason, it is likely that GHG emissions might not be reduced even if hydrogen fuel cells could be put to practical use. Moreover, another vulnerable point was mentioned in the article Road to Hydrogen Cars May Not Be So Clean. Hydrogen is a very leaky gas that could escape from cars and hydrogen plants into the atmosphere. Hydrogen that leaks into the atmosphere binds with oxygen molecules, forming vapor and clouds. This could lead to additional global warming according to Tim Patterson, a professor at Carlton University in Canada. He claims that the amount of water vapor in the atmosphere has the most significant influence on global temperature. And Catherine G. Padro, at Los Alamos National Laboratory, says that hydrogen can act as a kind of CFC, destroying part of the earth s atmospheric ozone which shields us from cancer causing solar radiation. At present, there are still a lot of problems which should be investigated in detail before we commit ourselves to the use of hydrogen fuel cells. On the other hand, hybrid petrol electric cars such as the Toyota Prius are becoming increasingly popular. Compared with new American cars of the same size, the Prius consumes roughly half as much petrol, and so releases half as much carbon dioxide. Moreover, its emissions of smog forming pollutants, such as nitrogen oxides and hydrocarbon, are 90% lower. These hybrid cars cut emissions and improve fuel economy by coupling a conventional ... The narrator did not treat his brother fairly. For instance, the narrator was not an admirable brother to Doodle. Doodle did not know how to walk or do things that most kids know how to do. I see the toughness from the environment he grew up in that was filled with violence, guns, drugs, etc. Tupac lived off of the streets and grew up with little to no privileges. As a result, he had to look out for himself and the odds were stacked against him. Me Against the World exemplifies this struggle as he felt like it was just him against the world at times. The word tenderness also perfectly describes Tupac s music. The lyrics in this song sound heartfelt. He expresses how he feels about the world around him by talking about the issues people outside of the ghetto are unaware of, but people who live in the ghetto are used to seeing people get shot and the fear of being shot when he steps outside. As Quinn describes it, this song and album as a whole are different from his previous work because it focuses on his individual paranoia. It does not seem like his lyrics are targeted at one specific audience. It sounds like he is talking to himself at some times and is retelling his experiences, venting his frustrations with the world, and the chorus is his way of accepting his situation and how the world is by saying, It s just me against the world and I ve got nothing to lose. Case 3.2.4 Justification Of Antimicrobial Use 3.2.4Justification of antimicrobial use Before initiating antimicrobial therapy, even in the case of a correct diagnosis, the practitioner should ascertain that whether such therapy is justified and will confer the benefit to the animal. The therapy should help to contain and limit further extension of the infection, shorten its duration and reduce the risk of systemic complications. Ideally, only diseased animals should be treated, and the treatment should be as individual as possible. However, in the case of poultry this is not practical, and mass treatment is accepted following a relevant diagnosis. Metaphylaxis should be avoided and prophylaxis should be kept to a minimum. Routine prophylactic use of antimicrobials as a substitute for health management should be discouraged. The source material of the ballad is highly unfamiliar to American audiences, in particular, but to the global audience as well. This gave Disney the opportunity to reconstruct the essence of the tale to speak more about Mulan s individualism and struggle against a repressive culture in which she cannot show her face.
