longevity, and intensity. To effectively use CAM output in operational forecastingsettings, novel

understood by forecasters and other end users.
Toward this end, Sobash et al. (2011), hereafter S11, documented a proof of concept for
producing a next day (12 UTC to 12 UTC) severe convective weather guidance product using
output from deterministic CAM forecasts initialized at 00 UTC. In S11, locations where intense
simulated convective storms occurred were identified using updraft helicity (UH; Kain et al.
2008), a diagnostic designed to detect mid level mesocyclones in CAM output. A threshold was
applied to the UH field to identify severe simulated convection and produce a field of surrogate

This paper presents a comparison of mechanical properties of 17 4PH stainless steel parts built by
selective laser melting (SLM) additive manufacturing process with the wrought 17 4PH stainless
steel parts. The microstructure is analyzed using optical microscope and the mechanical properties
are evaluated using tensile testing according to ASTM E8 standard. Overall, the SLM fabricated
samples demonstrated superior tensile properties and the microstructure is strongly influenced by
the SLM process. The SLM processed specimens showed higher ductility and ultimate tensile
strength than wrought samples.

experience I have been investigating print media selections when advertising tourist attractions in
the city of Auckland. I have created a design of a double sided, bi fold, 3 panel brochure. I have
learnt the elements and principles of design that are vital to this type of outcome. I have also learnt
how to apply the elements of design which can be applied to any digital outcome. Important
Elements/Principles of Design There are a variety of elements to be considered while developing a
print media outcome. Colour is an important design element when used in print media because it
creates visual interest towards the viewer. It determines whether the brochure is noticeable enough.
This comes into consideration which is used to determine the quality of a design within print
media. Colour can generate emotions as well as depict feeling. Alignment is also an important
design element formerly used in print media because it creates a distinct, more orderly design.
When aligning elements this allows them to create a visual connection with either font text,
images, or shapes. It tightens up the design and eradicates the haphazard. This element prevents
items of being randomly placed in a design. Alignment is one of the most basic and important
principles of design. It acknowledges us to create order and organisation in a design. Proximity is

The hybrid Fiber Wireless networks are the combination of both optical back end and wireless front
end. The commercial deployment of FiWi access networks faces a number of challenges including
network deployment [5 7], network routing [8 12], frame aggregation [13],[14] and bandwidth
allocation. The main focus of this paper is on the bandwidth allocation process where network
resources are shared between the users on the same network. This process manages the distribution
of available bandwidth in terms of Bytes, timeslots, channels, sub channels and subcarriers to the
users. Bandwidth allocation algorithms could be static/fixed or dynamic bandwidth allocation
algorithms (DBA). The static algorithms distribute bandwidth equally between users in the same
network. These algorithms suffer from inefficient utilization of bandwidth thus degrading the
network performance. Therefore, researches on DBA algorithms have gained many researchers
attention in FiWi networks.
Several dynamic bandwidth allocation techniques have been proposed in the research community
adopted on different FiWi networks architectures, which combine different technologies of optical
and wireless networks.
