The Diagology Of Proactive Motor Health Monitoring
Abstract Key words: Motor faults, vibration analysis, bearings, sensor fusion, Data acquisition,
condition monitoring Electrical pump is widely used in the oil gas production as an efficient and
reliable tool at high production volumes and greater depths (Breit and Ferrier 2008). Globally, around
95 percent of oil wells required artificial lift systems to pump the underground oil to the surface as the
wellbore pressure is too low (Schultz, Tibbetts et al. 2015). Among these systems, 20 25 percent
deployed electrical pumps to achieve that process (Adesanwo 2016). However, due to the harsh
working environment, electrical pumps health condition often declines without much warning and

Chapter 1 Introduction Health condition monitoring for rotating machinery has progressed for many
years with great improvements to algorithms for data analysis due to its potential to reduce the
maintenance cost and increase operation safety and availability. It involves aspects include sensors,
data processing, health assessment and decision making (Cubillo 2016). Prognostics and health
management (PHM) is a research field and application that aims at making use of history information
to recognize the current (diagnostics) and future evolution (prognostics) health state of a system which
can be a plant, a drilling platform or an engine in order to detect its degradation, diagnose its faults,
predict impending failures (Zio 2012). It

Funeral Eulogy
As I stand here, with my hand resting on your coffin, breathing in the scent of lilies and of wood
polish, the congregation is watching and waiting. The guests file into the church with the cool,
morning, Melbourne breeze sending shivers down everyone s spines. All the other guests greeted each
other with upturned brows, watery eyes, forced smiles, and lingering embraces. The occasional person
comes up and embraces me and tells me everything is going to be okay, when they know its quite far
from it. The crowd was growing quickly as more people flowed through the front door, all of them
dressed in monotone fashions. Staring at me through the tears that fill their eyes are the people who
cared and still care about you. I m taking these few minutes to prepare myself, before I have to deliver
your eulogy. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I never liked funerals, even through they are thought as a celebration of the life you have lived, they
only make me remember that you are no longer to continue celebrating that life. I place my unstable
hand on the hard, dark, wooden coffin, wearing your suit you got perfectly fitted for what was
supposed to be the best day of our entire lives . The flag draped upon your casket setting a reminder to
every one of your bravery. I allow a tear to slowly roll down my cheek as I stare blankly at my blurred
hand and say to you my heart is forever yours . I say this to you with a different meaning and emotion
to when you said it to me as you placed the diamond ring on my finger for the first time. You said it as
a beginning and I m saying it now as an ending. This just highlights the fact that I m not ready to say

INTRODUCTION
Suicide is the act of deliberately killing oneself. According to World Health Organization data most of
the suicide cause is due to mental disorders, physical illness, such as cancer, HIV, infection. The center
for disease control gave the suicide data as the tenth leading cause of death for all ages in 2010. One
of the latest destruction suicide happened in India was British American actress, Jiah khan s suicide.
On 3rd June 2013 she was found hanging herself in her apartment Mumbai, India. Although, the

In 19th century in Europe there is rapid increase in suicide. The case of death can be positive action
such as jumping from an upper window or negative action such as hunger strike. Durkheim eliminates
psychotic paranoid suicide because it is non sociological explanation of suicide and it is not the result
of self concise aim. The factor correlation between mental disorder and self destruction varies
considerably.
Scotland had comparatively high level of lunacy but there is low level self destruction. While Saxony
showed a low level of lunacy but a high rate of self destruction. Alcohol addiction and substance
abuse are eliminated by Durkheim (Law, 2011, p.200). Undoubtedly, race itself is abolished as an
irrational concept. In the month of summer and at temperature degrees of latitude (50 55 degrees),
there are more suicide cases because when communion is most competency public, especially in urban
areas. One of the causes of non social associated to suicide that Durkheim examines is imitation.
Durkheim differing the suicide rates among protestant and catholic, he argues that stronger social
control among catholic result in lower suicide rates. According to Durkheim, catholic society has
normal levels of integration while protestant society has low levels. He says that suicide rates are
higher in men than in women. Suicides rates are higher among those who are not in relationship than
those who are married. Because of the being single, the women do not have children so there is more

The Terrorist Attacks Spread Fear And Fed Conspiracy...
On September 11th 2001, the terrorist attacks spread fear and fed conspiracy theorists. On board
United Airlines flight 93, everyone died, for a total of 44 losses ( United Airlines Flight 93 ). UA93
crashed in a field near Shanksville, in Pennsylvania. Interpretations of the crash differ, as some believe
the government covered up its involvement in the attacks and others support that the passengers were
celebrated as heroes, as they threatened their attackers (McConnachie and Tudge 401). The discussion
of two contrasting opinions follows. David Ray Griffin believes UA93 was shot down by the U.S. Air
Force, whereas James B. Meigs defends that the heroic resistance of the passengers caused the
hijackers to pull the aircraft down. They both demonstrate that the nature and the position of the plane
debris at the crash area, as well as the authorities reactions to the hijacking, confirm their own point of
view. Mr. Meigs explanations express more credibility than Mr. Griffin, due to the compared use of
reliable experts to support their claim between the two men and the sufficient evidences to prove their
viewpoint.
First and foremost, David Ray Griffin, a retired professor of philosophy of religion and theology
strongly believes that two military jets chased UA93 and shot it down, fired under the President Bush
order. His first reason provided is that the U.S. authorities being certainly aware of the United Airlines
hijacking, President Bush supposedly ordered the U.S. Air

Examples Of Persuasive Speech On Domestic Violence Awareness
The Persuasive Speech
Name: Jessica Baeza Section: COMM 101 111
Speech Title: Love Should Not Hurt: Domestic Violence Awareness
General Purpose: To persuade
Specific Purpose: To persuade my audience to increase domestic violence awareness
Organizational Pattern: Monroe s Motivated Sequence
INTRODUCTION:
(1) Attention Getting Device: According to an article titled Don t Believe in the War On Women?
Would a Body Count Change Your Mind? , since September 11, 2001 more American women were
killed by an intimate partner than all of the victims of 9/11 and all of the American military fatalities
in Iraq and Afghanistan combined (Gidfar, 2012). One woman is fatally shot by a spouse, ex spouse or
dating partner every 14 hours, states Wright (2016) from the U.S. Department of Defense, and these
are just the statistics for women, but domestic violence happens to men, as well, but less often.
(2) Thesis Statement: Everyone in this room has a voice. We can take a stand and use our voice to
educate ourselves and others on healthy relationships and decrease the number of women and men
who are victims of domestic violence.
(3) Justification: It does not just happen to other people or certain kinds of people (Day, 2016). It can
happen to our sisters. It can happen to our brothers. It can happen to our friends. It can happen to our
peers. It can happen to people we love (Repetition). Nearly three fourths of Americans know a victim
of domestic violence personally (Wright,

Comparing and Contrasting “In Camera” by Nawal EL Saadawi...
Between these two stories In Camera by Nawal EL Saadawi and Punishment by Rabbindranath
Tagore, there are many similarities and differences. First, both of these two stories took place in the
Middle East country, Arab and India, which Arab is a monarchical country and India is a post
monarchical country. Meanwhile, both stories reflected about how women were treated in different
time, culture and country and how did the two protagonists fight against the injustice. What s more,
the women s placement is also a important topic which I would like to compare with. In the story In
Camera, Saadawi illustrated how women were treated by the legal system in Arabic country when
they did something against the system. The protagonist, Leila ... Show more content on

One day after work, when two brothers came home, Dukhiram asked for food from Radha, but Radha
did not prepare the food. In a fit of rage, Dukhiram killed Radha. After all this happened, Dukhiram s
brother, Chidam, forced his wife, Chandara, to take the crime for the murder. When the police came
and ask Chandara whether she killed her sister in law or not, Chandara admitted the murder without
hesitation and regret. After the trial, Chandara refused to see Chidam as she was going to be executed
for the murder. However, this refers back to the title of the story, Punishment , which indicates that
Chidam who brings punishment down upon himself by losing the only woman he loved and even that
Chandara refuses to see him before the execution. Unlike the story In Camera , which Leila was
tortured by the government and the corrupt system under a monarchial nation, while in the story
Punishment Chandara was only ill treated and abused by her husband and no other external forces.
Tagore shows us abuse and ill treatment towards women only from immediate family. Like in the case
of Chandara where she was ill treated and abused by her husband. Her husband threatened her by
saying If I ever hear that you have been to the ghat on your own, I will break every bone in your body.
This quote shows that the abuse receives on a daily basis. The other two quotes, which refer back to
the title Punishment , is that when the judge asked Chandara who is he? He is my

Maxim Kills Rebecca
Rebecca has been a popular gothic romance novel. The plot is traditional: A young woman, the
protagonist, ends up in a foreign setting, and must win the heart of a striking man while piecing
together a mystery. Also, typically in gothic fashion, the weather will mirror the characters moods. An
example of this is when Maxim kills Rebecca the same night of a terrible storm.
This novel of suspense had two twists to it, which makes it a very well thought out story. The story
begins in Manderley and sets an foreboding atmosphere, which is typical for gothic fashion literature.
This is laid out before the flashback in the novel. Here, we begin to perceive a taste of how sinister
and supernatural the atmosphere of Manderley is, once the flashbacks of the trip to Monte Carlo pass.
The apparition of Rebecca and her living servant Mrs. Danvers try to ruin the marriage of the narrator
and threaten to beat her. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To be even more specific, it s a costume ball. Mrs. Danvers, who utterly worshipped Rebecca,
purposefully suggested to Maxim s wife that she should wear the same costume that Rebecca had once
worn. Maxim s wife, of course, does not know that the costume had originally been worn by Rebecca
and agrees to wear it to the ball. Once Maxim sees his wife wearing the costume that once belonged to
Rebecca, he becomes horrified and enraged. By this point, Maxim s wife appears to be depressed and
convinced that Maxim still loves Rebecca and will never love her.
The following day, Mrs. Danvers finds Maxim s wife in utter despair and nearly persuades her to
commit suicide. Mrs. Danvers successfully convinces Maxim s wife, but she gets her sanity back
when she hears rockets just off the cove. This signaled that a sunken ship had surfaced

Benefits Of Having A High School Diploma
Benefits of having a high school diploma
Salaries The people who received a high school diploma earn about $8,400 more than a drop out. You
would have better education and a better job.
Employment Chances are higher to be employed with a high school diploma than a drop out. Many
jobs will not hire people that don t have at least a high school diploma.
College With a high school diploma, you can attend college. If you drop out of high school, colleges
won t accept you. Colleges will think if you can t graduate high school, then you won t be able to

The Development Of Prejudice And Discrimination
A group of young males is walking towards you; however, take into account that the males are all
wearing baggy shirts and sagging their pants. Each member has visible tattoos and is being loud and
obnoxious. Do you cross over to the other side of the street or do you walk passed the group?
Whichever one you chose shows how important first impressions can be. The person whom choses to
cross the street instead of walking by the group may hold the view that these males are dangerous and
not the kind of people you would want to associate with. On the other hand, the person whom chose to
walk passed the group may have the perception that they are just young and expressing themselves in
today s fashion sense and having fun. This situation demonstrates prejudice and discrimination.
Prejudice is when someone holds an often negative and unsupported stereotyped attitude about
members of a particular group. Discrimination is when that prejudice attitude causes people of a
particular group to be treated differently than others in the same situation. Although many factors
contribute to prejudice and discrimination, the four main ones are social cognitive theory and realistic
theory, and social identity theory and stereotype vulnerability.

There are ways, however, to reduce prejudice and discrimination. These include education, equal
status contact, and the jigsaw classroom. Education allows for people to learn about others who are
different in many ways from them and gives people the opportunity to have direct contact with people
from different backgrounds and see them as people rather than outsiders. Equal status contact is when
all groups are in the same situation and neither have more power over the other. The jigsaw classroom
allows students to work together to reach a specific goal which helps to reduce prejudice and

New Orleans By Jean Baptiste Le Moyne, Sieur De Bienville...
New Orleans was founded in 1718 by Jean Baptiste Le Moyne, Sieur de Bienville. Forty five years
later, in 1763, France signed treaties ceding Louisiana to Spain to whom it remained for the next forty
years. Due to Mexican, Cuban and Spanish influence, the race rules in New Orleans were more
liberal, allowing for a class of free people of color. In 1803 Louisiana was sold back to the French,
who then twenty days later sold it to the United States in the Louisiana Purchase. New Orleans had
become the largest city in the Confederacy by the start of the Civil War in 1861.
New Orleans culture is a melting pot of Spanish, French, Mexican, Native American, and African
descent. Creole is a term that refers to mixed race natives of Louisiana. Many creoles were free and
their ancestors often had the same rights as white people. They often received formal education and
owned property and slaves. Creole culture was catholic and French speaking as opposed to the
Protestant and English speaking whole of America. This amalgamation of cultures created a safe
haven for personal expression, and caused the development and evolution of the culture and Jazz
music.
In 1724, Code Nior was implemented which gave slaves Sundays and holidays off. On their days off,
slaves gathered any place they could find such as levees, backyards, and remote areas. In 1817, the
mayor of New Orleans issued an ordinance which restricted slaves congregation to an area called
Congo Square. On Sunday afternoons, men

Methodology
Research Questions
1. What was the impact of prolonged and violent conflict on the mental health of male politically
motivated (first time offender, life sentence) prisoners and prison staff at HMP Maze, 1968 1998?
(This includes the violent conflict that may have affected prisoners before coming to prison; the
violent conflict that often erupted in prison; and the violent conflict that affected prison officers as a
result of their occupation)
2. What does this cohort reveal about other prison populations arising from political, quasi political or
paramilitary conflict?
3. What can our research tell us about modes of adaptation to long term imprisonment?
4. Can we develop insights into the dynamics of the staff inmate relationship that may be relevant to
the study of other closed institutions?

Samurai Kyuzo Character Traits
Kyuzo is a very interesting character in Akira Kurosawa s The Seven Samurai (1954). Kyuzo is first
introduced to the audience during a duel with another Samurai. Kambei s eyes are locked on Kyuzo as
he shows tremendous swordsmanship, skills not many samurai would accomplish in a lifetime. Kyuzo
at first rejects the offer of joining the samurai, however, he later changes his mind. Through his
serious, cold face it is hard to breakdown Kyuzo s character, nonetheless, we soon see the true
qualities of his personality. Courage and rectitude are the most valuable bushido virtues Kyuzo holds.
Throughout the movie Kyuzo makes some every decisive decisions, while also showing us his
courage to risk his own live in order to save others. In Stephen Hunters ... Show more content on

Linking a specific bushido virtue with Kikuchiyo could either be hard or easy depending on how one
may look at his attributes, however respect is one virtue Kikuchiyo shows in a not so obvious manner.
In Dave Kehr s Calling All Samurai Avengers: Your Anime Has Arrived he wrote Kikuchiyo,
regrettably, turns out not to be a colorful drunk, but a hulking, lunkheaded, poorly assembled robot,
who has the rasping, braggart voice (Christopher R. Sabat) of a professional wrestler, and the impulse
control to match . Although it is easy to see Kikuchiyo is not a polished samurai warrior, he holds
some valuable character traits which ultimately provide aid for both the bandits, and the famers.
Although he was never formally added to the group of Samurai by Kambei, Kikuchiyo showed his
worthiness during the scene when the samurai arrive at the village. Great tension could be felt between
both the famers and samurai until this was broken by Kikuchiyo s humorous character. The first sign
of respect shown towards Kikuchiyo was by Heihachi as he said, I guess we re really seven now
(Kurosawa 63), formally admitting Kikuchiyo to the group. Kikuchiyo without a doubt shows great
bravery and courage throughout the movie, however he also shows

She is wearing a red, old headscarf that looks like sort of a dress. The scarf she is wearing seems very

that she is wearing. This kind of scarf is exactly like many Muslims wears to cover their head and
their faces from their exception of their eyes. At the same time, in this imagine she is only showing her
face, and the rest of her arms, legs are covered with the dress. The young girl s skin looks very tan as
if she is being exposed in the sun for long hours and for years. In addition to that, she is showing a
little be of her hair and seems as if she has not washed neither her hair nor face. Also, the girl s eyes
are big and are a combination of green and brown. She looks around the age of ten or eleven years old.
Her facial expressions are both sad and brave; especially her eyes seem very daring and bitter. In the
back of the picture, there is a green landscape without pictures or decoration, is just a dark green color.

The Origins of Occidentalism
To answer the question posed it necessary to first consider the development of, and what constitutes
the West. Once this is achieved, we are than able to discuss occidentalism. However, the concept of
orientalism, and what constitutes the orient, will first be considered as, arguably, orientalism provoked
occidentalism. Thereafter, the four key features of occidentalism, identified by Buruma and Margalit
(2004) will be discussed. Contemporary notions of ociddentalism, more specifically Islamic
extremism will also be studied; of must importance here is if, or how, Buruma s and Margalit s (2004)
theory of occidentalism aids our understanding of the perspective of those in resistance to the west.

There has always been opposition to the development of the west. Occidentalism creates a
dehumanising picture of the west, painted by its enemies. Buruma and Margalit (2004) state,
Occidentalism has its origins in the West. Buruma (2004) argues, contemporary Islamic occidentalists
are not fully foreign to the West they despise; many Islamic radicals borrow their anti western
concepts from Russian and German philosophy. People with little history and even less intellectual
capacity would have no idea why the hate and should hate the west, let alone understand the complex,
pluralistic nature of western societies and culture. (Buruma and Margalit 2004:48) To argue that the
main roots of anti western attitudes lie in the West is to belittle and underestimate the histories,
traditions and cultures of non western societies. Anti westernism has been rising over the past two or
three decades, it is currently closely associated with Islamic extremism. The Islamic contribution to
Occidentalism is a religious vision of purity in which the idolatrous west has to be destroyed (Buruma
2004). Buruma and Margalit (2004) argue there are four hostile aspects of the occidental view of the
West: a hatred of the city, rationality or the loss of the soul, an anti bourgeois attitude and anti
feminism. Those who dislike the west see it in similar terms as a machine like society without a soul

Nietzsche, A Critic Of Religion
Nietzsche is widely known as a critic of religion. In fact, he talks in depth about morality in regards to
religion in his essays about the genealogy of morals. But the problem is not within religion itself or
within morals. The problem is involved in the combination of the two to create society s
understanding of morality through a very religious lens. In fact, Nietzsche has criticism for almost any
set of morals constructed by a group of individuals and meant to be applied to society as a whole. True
morality, according to Nietzsche, requires a separation from these group dynamic views of morality or
at least a sincere look into where they originated and why they persist and a movement towards a
more introverted, and intrinsically personalized understanding of what morals mean in spite of the fact
that the normative force to which every member of society is exposed, in the form of obligations,
codes of behavior, and other moral rules and guidelines, is disproportionally high (Korfmacher 6). As
Nietzsche points out, within society there is a tendency to conflate religious standards with morality.
In fact, it is difficult to discuss morality at all without running into issues that appear to be religious by
their nature, but which, upon reflection, do not need to be put under that blanket. According to
Nietzsche, we tend to mix religion and morality together because that is how we developed morality
from the beginning of humanity. In fact, Nietzsche believes that all

Analysis Of Lois Lowry s The Giver
Newberry Medalist, Lois Lowry, reflects her fascination with the stages of life into her many novels
that depict young adults coping with the challenges that come with growing up. And like many
recognized authors Lowry has been asked again and again, Where did you get this idea? For each
novel written by Lowry the inspiration arises from diverse occasions from her life. In The Giver
Lowry explores the new territory of a fantasy realm of society that is free from pain, disorder, and
overpopulation; but in a world without love, color, and memories the perfect society turns to dystopia.
(Novels for Students) As an explanation for the origins of The Giver Lois Lowry, in her Newberry

The Suicide Of The Marine Corps
Senior enlisted leaders are ask to come up with solutions to stop suicide in the Marine Corps. I am
going to talk about three topics that I feel important to stop suicide; (1) All hands responsibility, (2)
Spiritual guidance, (3) Mental ship awareness program. Suicide is all hands responsibility because
Marines are one family that strive to do their best for the best interest of the institution. Marines care
for one another and the moment someone commit suicide in the Marine Corps, it has a great impact on
our emotional state of mind, mission readiness, and how to deal with suicide while still fresh in our
environment. This is important to talk about it vice walking away and let the time cure the unanswered
question. After a Marine commit suicide I find it a critical point to educate the force on why taking
your life is not the solution, why any suicide is a death that touches someone (Kelly, 2015). Educating
Marines that there is a solution to any problem and giving the solutions via resources within the
Battalion is important because at least there is chance within reach with someone that you see every
day.
Consequently, I will integrate professional health counselors at the Battalion level at least, I will
recommend they conduct not only assistance to those who need it but also frequent surveys in order to
zero down on causes before the individual takes his or her own life as we all still trying to find out the
why such name Marine committed suicide. Relationship

The Importance Of A Steady Source Of Light
For thousands of years, man had used the sun as the main source of light during the day and fire by
night. Light progressed from crude shells filled with moss or animal fat to pottery vessels filled with
whale oil2. In 1802, Humphry David placed two wires from a battery to a piece of carbon and created
the first electric light. While it did not produce light for very long and was too bright for everyday use,
it gave hope to inventors everywhere who believed that a steady source of light could be created3. It
was not until almost seventy years and countless hours of research later, that the modern electric light
came into existence. This discovery literally changed the world. Thomas Edison recognized the
importance of a steady source of light and is credited with the first of several patents on a bulb that
used a carbonized bamboo filament. But perhaps his most important contribution was to recognize the
future of the light bulb and he went on to invent a method of transporting electric current and tracking
electric usage. Other inventors took the light bulb to its next level with the invention of the tungsten
filament and how to use an inert gas like nitrogen inside the bulb to increase efficiency4. The first
light bulb was called an incandescent bulb. This light bulb was originally produced by hand, but now
the manufacturing process is entirely automated and light bulbs are produced in a machine that can
produce more than 50,000 bulbs per hour5. The production

North Carolina Central University has a very immense history that includes very important
information about what the institution has to offer. Mr. Jalen Baker spoke about where our institution
has come from and the relevance to what we are today. He presented the university s past and
introduced the present to new students. Mr. Jalen R. Baker is the Assistant Coordinator of the Student
Engagement and Leadership department. Mr. Baker is one of the heads of the Student Activities Board

With that being said, knowing what happens at the college and clubs/organizations that are offered
gives students a chance to connect with people who are like minded and who are here for the same
purpose as them. There are many resources around campus that can help new students and current
students try and transition into prosperous individuals. A student can go to the Student Activities
Board and talk to someone about joining a club and being able to get involved on campus. A student
can also visit the school website and find a list of clubs and organizations that are available. In
addition to information about clubs the website also offers information about the university s history
and also tours of the campus to hear more information. Information about the school and what it has to
offer is posted all around campus and there are staff who can also help students become informed.
However, as for me and my experience here at North Carolina Central University, the information that
I learned from Mr. Baker helped me develop an appreciation for my school. I will join clubs and
organizations in the future and because of the presentation I know now that there is something out
there for me. I now know the background of my school and where we come from as an institution. I
am ready to inform others about the illustrious North Carolina Central University and how proud I am

Sternberg s triangular theory of love
Robert Sternberg s theory of love is best explained in the context of interpersonal relationships. An
interpersonal relationship can be defined as two or more people who have a strong, deep or close
association. The three components Sternberg uses are intimacy, passion and commitment. His theory
uses 6 manifestations which are combinations of the three components. This covers a variety of
different kinds of relationships in human kind.
Sternberg s theory of love has several combinations of love that I think relate to my gender as a
female.

The norm being girl meets boy, they date, and they get married, buy a house and start a family.
Staying married for a lifetime, retiring together and having the extended family with grandchildren
and ultimately enjoying your golden years together. Today in the real world, relationships aren t that
cut and dry. Different genders, cultures, religions, race, and ethnicity all play a role in relationships
that pertain to Sternberg s theory of love, the three components and the 6 manifestations he talks
about. I think women have can have many of these relationships over time. Empty love, many women
stay in a marriage where they don t even like their spouse, usually because there is some kind of abuse
going on. The friendship, women are more intimate with friends and confide in their friends making it
a more intimate relationship. In old age companionate love is common, although there may not be
much intimacy, there is love and commitment, making it a fulfilling relationship. Of course everyone
is different so this is only my opinion. The relationship between mother and child is usually the
strongest relationship a woman can have in my eyes. There is no more commitment, love, compassion,
and fulfillment in life than the bond in this relationship. While we encourage technology and expect
more from it, I think we start to expect less from one another. People become less personal, they meet

throughout the book. There were a lot of tragic and scary things that happen and because the friends
stuck together, they were able to get through them. Throughout this book, there are a lot of themes but
one good one, in particular, is that true friends stick together until the end. There are a lot of examples
of this because there were so many hardships where the kids stuck together. One of these examples is
when Minho goes out into the storm to get Thomas up and saves his life. Then someone was grabbing

Case Study Of Guna Fibress
Background
Guna Fibres, Ltd is a textile manufacturing company founded in 1972 and situated at Guna, India. Ms
Surabhi Kumar is the managing director and principal owner while Mr Malik is the bookkeeper. This
company utilizes the technology and domestic raw materials to expand its franchises. It supplies fibre
yarns used to weave colourful cloth for saris, a traditional wear of Indian women. Guna Fibres usually
utilized a line of credit from All India Bank Trust to finance its business during its peak sale season
which is usually on summer.
The Problem
The main problem of the company is that it couldn t liquidate a seasonal working capital loan for the
requisite 30 days each year. It reflects the company doesn t have sufficient cash and they need more
loan but the bank is reluctant to give any unless the company can give a reliable financial plan to show
they can pay off their loan by the end of 2012. So, Mr Malik came up with a financial forecast for the
month to month operation to gain the bank s trust. Sadly, the forecast portrays it cannot afford to pay

The Impact Of Photography On The World Of Photography
The history of photography begin with the discovery that some substances are visibly altered by
exposure to light and can capture that reality on to metal or paper. From then on, many photographers
and scientists developed photography in to what it is now. There are many significant aspects of
photography in its first hundred years of history that formed and shaped the basis of photography
technically and artistically. Personally, the most significant aspects of the photograph lie in its
beginning when it all first started with the daguerreotypes and the calotype that opened the world of
photography which have lead the world to be what it is now.
The first widely usable photographic processes that was introduced to the public were the
daguerreotype and the calotype. There were precedents before the daguerreotype and calotype but it
wasn t commercially used and was more close to a research rather than an art form. Each method
produced technically different outcomes by using different methods but they devoted to the same
result: both processes would develop photography into what we recognize today as photography. The
two methods would inspired wide use of the camera, which presented problems with the photographic
technique. By having people solve these problems, the photography developed from its early stage,
big in size and complicated procedures, to the modern camera that we use, which are simple and easy
to use. Even though daguerreotype and calotype were developed during

An Inspirational Rite Of Passage
In the prime age of sixteen, I felt an inspirational rite of passage. My endurance through Drivers Ed
guaranteed me my license which I wanted desperately. Furthermore, my father had permitted me to
drive his white 2002 Dodge Ram truck; and after eleven years of its existence, its appearance was still
flawless and shattered anything in its way. While driving it, I felt invincible, so invincible I could
jump over any hurtle, obstacle, you name it. I intentionally found reasons to drive it like: going to the
store, the bank, visiting family members, and of course hanging out with my friends. In the early
spring of 2013, I was returning home from eating lunch with my hilarious friend, Wade, at Rupes, the
best burger joint in town. My foot all the way on the gas petal, my left hand out the window, and my
eyes on the road was my last good memory before it happened.
At the speed of 45 between the intersecting of Rich Lane and University Street, my eyes were flashed
by the bursting sunlight from my rearview mirror. My depth perception was rattled by my tainted
eyes, and I could not readjust them back in order before blinking. After a brief moment, I finally
attuned my eyes and I gathered that I drifted closer to the right side of the road. Likewise out of the
corner of my right eye, I notice a strange object fifteen feet headed to the right of the truck. I focused
more upon the black object before it disappeared out of my sight and departed underneath the hood of
the truck. It was

Due to increased diversity on College campuses, colleges are changing and developing new ways to
become more inclusive in order to create environments where a mix of student cultures, ethnicities,

Technology In The Short Story The Veldt
In the short story The Veldt technology is portrayed as something bad with the idea of the nursery. The
nursery was a virtual reality room that allowed the user to think of any place they wanted and the
room turned into that, basically you controlled with your mind. This idea was made in 1950 that the
invention of the television would ruin our touch to the world, or the touch of our family. This is a
negative impact of technology and although, the children wanted their parents dead for technology is a

Using Computers And Software Programs
The creation of new and advance technology is playing a significant role in the job functions of police
officers, arming them with tools that have the ability to make them more knowledgeable and perform
more effectively. The use of computers and software programs by law enforcement personnel has a
variety of advantages and disadvantages in relation to criminal investigation and law enforcement. The
use of computers and software programs have become beneficial tools for the criminal enterprise and
for the prosecution in a criminal case.
Technology has enabled law enforcement officers to launch queries about an individual from a variety
of databases (Roberts, 2011). The development of the Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification
System (IAFIS) has empowered law enforcement with the ability to easily identify suspects during a
criminal investigation and access criminal histories, while in the field and solve cases faster (Roberts,
2011). The Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System enable law enforcement officers to
decrease the number of cold or unsolved criminal cases, increase communication between multiple
agencies, and match past unsolved crimes (The Federal Bureau of Investigation [FBI], n.d.). Overall,
the IAFIS has made it possible for law enforcement to apprehend criminals, and solve and prevent
crimes (FBI, n.d.). The Next Generation Identification Program (NGI) has been developed to allow

On a molecular level, heroin binds and activitives receptors called mu opioid receptors (MORs). These
receptors contain neurotransmitters that are part of the reward center of the brain. When the MORs
release the neurotransmitters the body is rewarded with pleasure and well being. (What Effects) The
amount of pleasure that the body feels is by how strong and where the opiate is put into the body. So
ultimately the brain becomes addicted to pleasure that the body is feeling.
In a short term perspective the user talks about a rush of pleasure. Depending on the the intensity of

Analysis of Trifles by Susan Glaspell Essay
Trifles is a play with a unified plot. Although there are verbal flashbacks to the events of the day of the
murder of John Wright, the play s entire plot begins and ends in a span of one day. The author also
extends the unified plot to create a single setting (the farmhouse kitchen). The plot centers on John
Wright s murder. Mrs. Wright is the main suspect; an investigation is taking place as to the motive or
reason for the crime.
The Sheriff, Mr. Hale and the County Attorney are introduced first to the audience. They are
investigating the crime scene. The women, Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peters, accompany the men to gather
whatever of Mrs. Wright s belongings that she needs in jail. This exposition turns ironic when the

Mrs. Peters, we ll call her the antagonist, repeatedly brings up the fact that the men are only doing
their job and that the law will determine Mrs. Wright s fate. Mrs. Hale, on the other hand, as the
protagonist, resents the men s sneaking and snooping around. Now she turns the men s stereotype of
women against them. She feels guilty about not being around the Wright s farmhouse more often.
The climax of the play unfolds as the women find an empty birdcage with a broken hinge. As the two
women speculate why it was empty, Mrs. Hale describes Mrs. Wright to Mrs. Peters as she knew her
when they were single women. The suspect s maiden name was Minnie Foster. She was a beautiful
songstress. A voice that was muted when she became Mrs. Wright.
When Mrs. Hale finds a dead bird in Mrs. Wright s sewing box, she soon recognizes the obvious
reason why John Wright was murdered. The audience sees character motivation in Mrs. Wright. Mr.
Wright was a man who used silence and coldness to control and mold his wife into someone he
thought she ought to be. He killed the singing bird, which was a symbol for Mrs. Wright as Minnie
Foster. In an indirect way, he killed her joy of singing, her spirit, keeping her in her own cage which
she can not escape from. Unless she got rid of what (or who) was holding her prisoner.
As she comes up with her own judgments, Mrs. Hale

Internal Tensions Of The Qing Dynasty Of China
The Qing dynasty of China, which began in 1644, was seen as very isolationist and wary of foreign
trade and imports. However, the Europeans were very interested in developing two way trade with
China. Europeans had to pay directly in silver for the porcelain, silk, spices, and tea they imported
from China. This was a significant stress on the European economy, which was already strained from
internal tensions.
In the early 1700 s the Portuguese introduced a new form of smoke able opium to China. The opium
was mixed with tobacco and became a new commodity in China. Opium trade was originally
dominated by the Dutch, but was soon taken over by the British due to British rule in India and the

Reasons For The Cuban Missile Crisis
During 1962, the United States and the Soviet Union were in conflict due to the Soviet Union placing

force the removal of the missiles, Kennedy was faced with three options; to bomb the missile sites
and/or conduct both sea and airborne landings, or blockade the island and reassure the removal of the
missiles. Kennedy decided to blockade Cuba as it was the only option that would result in the removal
of the missiles without it escalating to war. The Cuban missile crisis was the closest the Cold War was

Kennedy had three options: To bomb the missile sites, to bomb the sites and conduct both sea and
airborne landings, or to blockade Cuba and to confirm the transfer of the missiles from the island. At
first, Kennedy was enraged and wanted to attack the missile sites, but the issue was whether to let
Khrushchev and Castro know his plan. If he had let them know, the Soviet Union could have
responded earlier by striking against Berlin or their bases in Turkey. However, if it would be a surprise
attack many people would be killed, equalling to further conflict. Kennedy reasoned it would not be a
good idea due to the fact it was impulsive and the consequences would be drastic. The Joints Chiefs of
Staff added that a surprise air strike would lead to an invasion.Although the air strike proposal was
done for, the Joints Chief of Staff argued against the blockade debating that it would be inefficient and
useless. Not only did they mention that the blockade would not remove the missiles for the simple fact
that they were already there, but they also pointed out that doing so would cause the Soviet Union to
do it also. Forcing the removal of the missiles would mean the United States would have to remove
their missiles surrounding the Soviet Union too, or so they thought. Although a blockade had its cons,
it was the safer way to go and would cause less extreme consequences according to Secretary

The Assault Rifle Ban
If the government would take a more rapid pace in a full assault weapon ban, then the murder rate in
the country would drop dramatically. The U.S. has one of the highest murder rates for developed
countries such as Japan who has a murder rate of 0.4 per 100,000 people and Britain with a 1.2 per
100,000 people. The U.S. has a murder rate of 4.7 per 100,000 people and it is not getting any better.
A ban on assault rifles would have a positive effect on the murder rate. Assault rifles are known to be
the most dangerous firearm in the world because of its rapid fire capability and its deadly range and
damage. That is what makes it such a unique and interesting weapon that should not be taken lightly.
The government has been working on some bills but they are not putting enough work into making it
happen. Senator Dianne Feinstein, who is in charge of the processes of the ban, is suggesting is that
the government passes a bill that will limit the capacity of ammunition in a magazine and ban assault
weapons that are too dangerous for public use. The safety of U.S. citizens is vital and banning assault
rifles will help make the United States a safer place.
Assault rifles are defined as one of the most dangerous firearms. The government is working to try to
solve the assault weapons crisis, a problem is what they need to ban and what do they need to limit.
There is a large debate on what is classified as an assault weapon some argue that it is a weapon that is
fully automatic.

J Louis Loewe Why Do Lutherans Sing

0 Century of the Reformation, Church History: Studies in Christianity and Culture 82, no. 0 0 1
(2013): 69 89.
In the article Why Do Lutherans Sing? Lutherans, Music, and the Gospel in the First Century of the
Reformation , J. Andreas Loewe discusses Luther s use of music to spread the Gospel, and his
influence on music in the Lutheran Church at the beginning of the Reformation. Loewe claims that
regarding Luther s passion for music, he was not only a skilled musician, but he strongly believed that
music was an ideal means to come to know and proclaim the mystery of God, (69). Luther strongly
believed in the changing power of music when combined with the Gospel ... Show more content on

This was particularly effective in reaching people due to the varying literacy levels among the people.
When the message was sung, it was often about Reformation principles, however he also used them to
comment on the current times. One of his first hymns, Ein Newes Lied , was written in response to the
martyrdom of two young men who were considered lutherans by the Catholic Church. All of these
hymns were spread through word of mouth, letter, and broadsheet, even through areas that were still
solidly Catholic. Their inclusion into the Protestant worship service was a mark of profound change
for the church. They were regularly sung before the service multiple times, even before Catholic
services. This caused such a disturbance in the Catholic Church that the primary distributor of the
hymns was imprisoned, however this in turn caused such an uproar that six to eight hundred people
gathered to forcefully free the peddler. Luther s hymns were so effective that they travelled to cities
and often won over its inhabitants before Luther even

Theme Of Pride In House Of Mirth
It can be duly noted that, regardless of the time period, the history of American lifestyles follow
similar patterns. One can easily identify major stepping pinnacles through the literature published at
that time. Throughout the novels House of Mirth, A Mercy and the play Death of a Salesman, the
thematic realms of Freedom and Confinement, Pride, Respect and Reputation are often explored and
we can identify that the lives of these very different set of New Yorkers experience great hardships.
First, we will explore the theme of Pride within the novel House of Mirth. Pride is not a
groundbreaking theme but is very much evident in numerous characters. Lily Bart herself is guilty of
pridefulness and one could argue that her pride had caused her ... Show more content on

Gryce s assessment of this group, there are boundaries within it which should not be crossed, limiting
the members of the society in House of Mirth to a sense of restriction. The self imposed rules prevent
people from doing as they please or experiencing the tribulations that life throws at them. Examples of
this is that women marry solely for financial purposes, women should not befriend married men or
even smoke cigarettes. The people are expected to play their role in this high end society and any
deviance from this is condemned. The following quote examines Lily s appearance towards everyone
and how she was expected to act.: To Selden s exasperated observation she was only too completely
alive to them. She was perfect to every one: subservient to Bertha s anxious predominance, good
naturedly watchful of Dorset s moods, brightly companionable to Silverton and Dacey. (Wharton,
2.1.43) The freedom in this society is minimal, even to those who are financially adept. Selden states
that his version of success is freedom. Despite that he continues to participate in the menial activities
of this society. Previously, we noted that Selden is less restricted in this society and his male gender
allows his reputation to stand strong. This is also the case for his sense of freedom. He can feel free
only because he is a male and women are constantly confined because they are female. Similarly,
Bertha Dorset is completely aware of her downfall if her

Causes Of Vehicles
As a technician we are required to find the cause of a vehicles issue by verifying, analyzing, isolating
and repairing the problem. As of this semester we had a chance to work with similar causes and
issues/complaints on a vehicle, most of the issues where Auto Electricity related. BMW s have an
advance wiring and advance computer/modules that control everything around an inside the vehicle.
For the first day we reviewed and went back to our basics. Some of our basics were voltage drop,
continuity testing, KL terminals and BMW circuits component identification. One of the key points of
body electronics was knowing how to voltage drop. Voltage drop is a loss of voltage in the wire, it
shows a difference in numbers by putting the leads in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the Wake Up lines in the ACSM the car can detect when the car is about to be in a crash and
sends signal to the module. The ASCM prepares for a crash, it deploys airbags all around the car and
depending on the severity of the crash and where in the B pillars or C pillars. It also tells the car to
shut down all fuel related lines, it automatically calls 911 and the hazard lights automatically turn on
because of the crash safety module which is all in the vehicles network. In addition to the advantages
of the Wake Up lines there are sensors that activate such as temperature sensors that help prevent the
car from overheating and coolant sensors, this also refers to Reference Voltage. Reference voltage is
there to secure accurate readings and maintain constant voltage throughout the wire. If you did not
have a reference voltage you would not get accurate readings and that would throw off other modules.
Following the next class period, we talked about a diagnostic process that is created to resolve a
customer s issue/complaint. As a technician we have a diagnostic process to find the vehicles problem.
Start by verifying the problem meaning checking to see if the car is having the issue the customer is
complaining about and duplicating the problem. Secondly, analyze the vehicle by checking for SSP,
FUB and functional description to find the issue. In addition, it would be good idea to go through
component triggering and have a process of elimination. Doing a short

Band Of Brothers Analysis
Band of Brothers
Band of Brothers, a 2001 mini series of the non fictional historical account of the US Army s famous
101st Airborne Division, was set during World War II. This show details the combined experiences of
Major Richard Dick Winters and the men of Easy Company 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment 101st
Airborne Division out of Fort Campbell, Kentucky. The series has a war genre mostly, however there
is drama and bits of comedy. These men who fought was known as the good war were hardened men,
who sacrificed so much, for sometimes too little.
The series also gets the original surviving members into talking about the war and showing their
emotions as they come out especially at certain parts that are too hard for them to tell. The ... Show

Loyalty And Appearance In The Outsiders By SE Hinton
Society will judge your appearances based on the outside just because society doesn t know what is on
the inside. The novel, The Outsiders written by SE Hinton is based on two big characteristics, loyalty
and appearance. Loyalty and appearance are shown in many examples throughout the book, and how
they affect the two different gangs. The story retains many examples on the characters looks and how
they are stereotyped just because of the way their appearances, also just by the way they decide to
dress. In, The Outsiders appearances plays a very big role between the two rival gangs known as the
Greasers and the Socs. The novel focuses on the greasers hair on how it is slicked back and greased
up, also the greasers clothing makes them who they are. Although the greasers may not have a lot of
money, the Greasers still manage to develop a distinctive style which classifies them as Greasers.

Ponyboy is saying he may not look as good as Paul Newman but he isn t bad looking himself either.

the three of us stay together only as long as we behave (1). Loyalty is a big deal for Ponyboy and his
family, if it wasn t for loyalty Ponyboy may not even have a family. Also the story mentions loyalty
within the gang and how each member should look after each other like brothers. Which really means
the Greasers have each others back just like family. To finalize loyalty within the Greasers is all over,
the Greasers wouldn t be family if they weren t loyal to each

The Shortage Of Donated Organs And The Issues With The...
Dying painfully in a hospital bed is not the way anyone wants to go. Unfortunately for many people, it
is a reality. Thousands of people a year end up dying while waiting for an organ that could save their
lives. While on the other side of the world, thousands of people die a year, but from infection when an
organ is forcefully taken from them to sell on the black market. There are two sides of the organ
donation list, and both can end in death. This paper will discuss the shortage of donated organs and the
issues with the current donation system. It will also discuss the black market for transplant organs and
possible solutions to viable organ shortage. The focus of this paper will be on transplant kidneys as
they are the most desirable organ for buyers and sellers.
In order to be eligible for an organ donation list, you must be in end stage organ failure. This means
that one of the patient s organs has not been working for a while and it is impossible for them to live
without some kind of help or transplant. For many patients, end stage organ failure can come as a
shock even if they have known for months that one of their organs was failing. With kidneys, this
means the patients are put on dialysis if they are not already. Dialysis is a process that mechanically
helps to do the things that the kidneys normally do. This can include filtering waste and toxins out of
the body. Many organs can be transplanted from living and dead donors, including kidneys, heart,
lung,

Walter Lee In Langston Hughes s A Raisin In The Sun
What happens to a dream deferred? Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun.... Langton Hughes. Do you
think dreams are that easy to achieve? Well, that what a few characters think in this play, but, there s
one character that sticks out. A character that shows that he would do anything to get what he wants.
Even if that means losing his pride (which is hard to do) in himself and in his family name. What
character do you think he is, dynamic or static character? I think in a Raisin in the sun, Walter Lee is a
dynamic character who is Ignorant and Arrogance.
One of the reasons I said Walter Lee is a dynamic character because he is ignorant. I said ignorant
because in Act 2, Scene 3 and in act 3, he was mad about the money (in other words, his dumb ...
Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I said arrogance because in act 1 and 2 he always talked about being a man (even know he didn t act
like one till the end). This proves that he thinks being a man means not thinking about your choices
and how money will make everything great but, it really not. Money can make people crazy, like
Walter. Also in Act 3 he almost gives up on everything. His family, his son and wife, and mostly
himself. Instead of giving up, he stood up for his family by not giving into a white man deal for the
money. This shows even if he did almost give into a deal that would break the Younger family dignity.
Dignity that they worked in their life, even as. Walter didn t want that dignity to leave this family but,
what hit him the most was his son, seeing him give up like a slave about to be whipped. In those
moments he really became a man because used to think about his self (even know he still does). This
tells reads that he is arrogant.
Walter is dynamic because a dynamic character changes thought out the book or play. Like in act 1
and 2 Walter like I said before only cared about his dreams coming true and he would do anything to
get his dream. This shows that a dynamic character start of as what they use to be. Also, Walter in act
3, Walter has to choose between money and family and he chose family instead. This show that Walter
may still be arrogant, but he thinks about his family more than himself. This shows

Surface Area and Cell SIze
Lab 1 Surface Area and Cell Size:
Introduction
Background Information
Iodine is an indicator for starch. When iodine is merged with starch, it turns a dark purple/black color.
Cells require nutrients in order to survive.
Cells must eliminate waste in order to survive.
Description of the Experiment
This experiment was done to provide evidence for why cells are so small. Basically, we pretended that
each potato cube used was a single cell and the iodine is the nutrients (food) for the cell.
Expectations/Hypothesis of the Experimental Outcome
I think that the smallest potato cube will have the nutrients (iodine) diffuse the farthest. The diffusion
of the iodine in the potato will move quicker to the middle of the cell in ... Show more content on

Lab 3 Observing Osmosis in Living Cells:
Introduction
Background Information
Living cells may be thought of as microscopically small bags of solutions contained within
semipermeable membranes. For the cell to survive, the concentration of solutes within the cell must
stay within a safe range.
A cell placed in a solution more concentrated than itself (a hypertonic solution) will shrink due to loss
of water, and may die of dehydration. A cell placed in a solution more dilute than itself (a hypotonic
solution) will expand as water enters it. Under such conditions the cell may burst.
A cell placed in a solution that is in equilibrium (an isotonic solution) will remain the same and no
water will enter nor leave the cell.
Description of the Experiment
This experiment was conducted to observe the effect of a certain amount of sucrose in a solution on
white potato cylinders. About five or six pieces of potato went into six different solutions that were in
increments of 2 m and were labeled by color. The point of this experiment was to see which solutions
were hypertonic, hypotonic, or isotonic to a piece of potato.
Expectations/Hypothesis of the Experimental Outcome
I think that the potatoes with no change will be in an isotonic solution, the potatoes in a hypertonic
solution will shrink, and the

The Diagology Of Proactive Motor Health Monitoring Abstract Key words: Motor faults, vibration analysis, bearings, sensor fusion, Data acquisition, condition monitoring Electrical pump is widely used in the oil gas production as an efficient and reliable tool at high production volumes and greater depths (Breit and Ferrier 2008). Globally, around 95 percent of oil wells required artificial lift systems to pump the underground oil to the surface as the wellbore pressure is too low (Schultz, Tibbetts et al. 2015). Among these systems, 20 25 percent deployed electrical pumps to achieve that process (Adesanwo 2016). The guests file into the church with the cool, morning, Melbourne breeze sending shivers down everyone s spines. All the other guests greeted each other with upturned brows, watery eyes, forced smiles, and lingering embraces. The occasional person comes up and embraces me and tells me everything is going to be okay, when they know its quite far from it. The crowd was growing quickly as more people flowed through the front door, all of them dressed in monotone fashions. Staring at me through the tears that fill their eyes are the people who cared and still care about you. I m taking these few minutes to prepare myself, before I have to deliver your eulogy. ... The flag draped upon your casket setting a reminder to every one of your bravery. I say this to you with a different meaning and emotion to when you said it to me as you placed the diamond ring on my finger for the first time. • 5. Emile Durkheim Theory On Suicide Analysis SOCIOLOGY CIA 3 Semester III Critical Analysis of Emile Durkheim s Theory on Suicide Tenzin Kunsang 1313658 BA EPS II INTRODUCTION Suicide is the act of deliberately killing oneself. According to World Health Organization data most of the suicide cause is due to mental disorders, physical illness, such as cancer, HIV, infection. The center for disease control gave the suicide data as the tenth leading cause of death for all ages in 2010. One of the latest destruction suicide happened in India was British American actress, Jiah khan s suicide. On 3rd June 2013 she was found hanging herself in her apartment Mumbai, India. Although, the accusation are pointed at live in boyfriend Suraj Pancholi the reason ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In 19th century in Europe there is rapid increase in suicide. The case of death can be positive action such as jumping from an upper window or negative action such as hunger strike. Durkheim eliminates psychotic paranoid suicide because it is non sociological explanation of suicide and it is not the result of self concise aim. The factor correlation between mental disorder and self destruction varies considerably. Scotland had comparatively high level of lunacy but there is low level self destruction. While Saxony showed a low level of lunacy but a high rate of self destruction. Alcohol addiction and substance abuse are eliminated by Durkheim (Law, 2011, p.200). Undoubtedly, race itself is abolished as an irrational concept. In the month of summer and at temperature degrees of latitude (50 55 degrees), there are more suicide cases because when communion is most competency public, especially in urban areas. One of the causes of non social associated to suicide that Durkheim examines is imitation. Durkheim differing the suicide rates among protestant and catholic, he argues that stronger social control among catholic result in lower suicide rates. According to Durkheim, catholic society has normal levels of integration while protestant society has low levels. He says that suicide rates are higher in men than in women. Suicides rates are higher among those who are not in relationship than those who are married. Because of the being single, the women do not have children so there is more suicide case in ... • 6. The Terrorist Attacks Spread Fear And Fed Conspiracy... On September 11th 2001, the terrorist attacks spread fear and fed conspiracy theorists. On board United Airlines flight 93, everyone died, for a total of 44 losses ( United Airlines Flight 93 ). UA93 crashed in a field near Shanksville, in Pennsylvania. Interpretations of the crash differ, as some believe the government covered up its involvement in the attacks and others support that the passengers were celebrated as heroes, as they threatened their attackers (McConnachie and Tudge 401). The discussion of two contrasting opinions follows. David Ray Griffin believes UA93 was shot down by the U.S. Air Force, whereas James B. Meigs defends that the heroic resistance of the passengers caused the hijackers to pull the aircraft down. They both demonstrate that the nature and the position of the plane debris at the crash area, as well as the authorities reactions to the hijacking, confirm their own point of view. Mr. Meigs explanations express more credibility than Mr. Griffin, due to the compared use of reliable experts to support their claim between the two men and the sufficient evidences to prove their viewpoint. First and foremost, David Ray Griffin, a retired professor of philosophy of religion and theology strongly believes that two military jets chased UA93 and shot it down, fired under the President Bush order. His first reason provided is that the U.S. authorities being certainly aware of the United Airlines hijacking, President Bush supposedly ordered the U.S. Air ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Examples Of Persuasive Speech On Domestic Violence Awareness The Persuasive Speech Name: Jessica Baeza Section: COMM 101 111 Speech Title: Love Should Not Hurt: Domestic Violence Awareness General Purpose: To persuade Specific Purpose: To persuade my audience to increase domestic violence awareness Organizational Pattern: Monroe s Motivated Sequence INTRODUCTION: (1) Attention Getting Device: According to an article titled Don t Believe in the War On Women? Would a Body Count Change Your Mind? , since September 11, 2001 more American women were killed by an intimate partner than all of the victims of 9/11 and all of the American military fatalities in Iraq and Afghanistan combined (Gidfar, 2012). One woman is fatally shot by a spouse, ex spouse or dating partner every 14 hours, states Wright (2016) from the U.S. Department of Defense, and these are just the statistics for women, but domestic violence happens to men, as well, but less often. (2) Thesis Statement: Everyone in this room has a voice. We can take a stand and use our voice to educate ourselves and others on healthy relationships and decrease the number of women and men who are victims of domestic violence. (3) Justification: It does not just happen to other people or certain kinds of people (Day, 2016). It can happen to our sisters. It can happen to our brothers. It can happen to our friends. It can happen to our peers. It can happen to people we love (Repetition). Nearly three fourths of Americans know a victim of domestic violence personally (Wright, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Comparing and Contrasting “In Camera” by Nawal EL Saadawi... Between these two stories In Camera by Nawal EL Saadawi and Punishment by Rabbindranath Tagore, there are many similarities and differences. First, both of these two stories took place in the Middle East country, Arab and India, which Arab is a monarchical country and India is a post monarchical country. Meanwhile, both stories reflected about how women were treated in different time, culture and country and how did the two protagonists fight against the injustice. What s more, the women s placement is also a important topic which I would like to compare with. In the story In Camera, Saadawi illustrated how women were treated by the legal system in Arabic country when they did something against the system. The protagonist, Leila ... In a fit of rage, Dukhiram killed Radha. After all this happened, Dukhiram s brother, Chidam, forced his wife, Chandara, to take the crime for the murder. When the police came and ask Chandara whether she killed her sister in law or not, Chandara admitted the murder without hesitation and regret. After the trial, Chandara refused to see Chidam as she was going to be executed for the murder. However, this refers back to the title of the story, Punishment , which indicates that Chidam who brings punishment down upon himself by losing the only woman he loved and even that Chandara refuses to see him before the execution. Unlike the story In Camera , which Leila was tortured by the government and the corrupt system under a monarchial nation, while in the story Punishment Chandara was only ill treated and abused by her husband and no other external forces. Tagore shows us abuse and ill treatment towards women only from immediate family. Like in the case of Chandara where she was ill treated and abused by her husband. Her husband threatened her by saying If I ever hear that you have been to the ghat on your own, I will break every bone in your body. This quote shows that the abuse receives on a daily basis. • 9. Maxim Kills Rebecca Rebecca has been a popular gothic romance novel. The plot is traditional: A young woman, the protagonist, ends up in a foreign setting, and must win the heart of a striking man while piecing together a mystery. Also, typically in gothic fashion, the weather will mirror the characters moods. An example of this is when Maxim kills Rebecca the same night of a terrible storm. This novel of suspense had two twists to it, which makes it a very well thought out story. The story begins in Manderley and sets an foreboding atmosphere, which is typical for gothic fashion literature. This is laid out before the flashback in the novel. Here, we begin to perceive a taste of how sinister and supernatural the atmosphere of Manderley is, once the flashbacks of the trip to Monte Carlo pass. The apparition of Rebecca and her living servant Mrs. Danvers try to ruin the marriage of the narrator and threaten to beat her. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Once Maxim sees his wife wearing the costume that once belonged to Rebecca, he becomes horrified and enraged. By this point, Maxim s wife appears to be depressed and convinced that Maxim still loves Rebecca and will never love her. • 11. The Development Of Prejudice And Discrimination A group of young males is walking towards you; however, take into account that the males are all wearing baggy shirts and sagging their pants. Each member has visible tattoos and is being loud and obnoxious. Do you cross over to the other side of the street or do you walk passed the group? Whichever one you chose shows how important first impressions can be. The person whom choses to cross the street instead of walking by the group may hold the view that these males are dangerous and not the kind of people you would want to associate with. On the other hand, the person whom chose to walk passed the group may have the perception that they are just young and expressing themselves in today s fashion sense and having fun. This situation demonstrates prejudice and discrimination. Prejudice is when someone holds an often negative and unsupported stereotyped attitude about members of a particular group. Discrimination is when that prejudice attitude causes people of a particular group to be treated differently than others in the same situation. • 12. New Orleans By Jean Baptiste Le Moyne, Sieur De Bienville... New Orleans was founded in 1718 by Jean Baptiste Le Moyne, Sieur de Bienville. Forty five years later, in 1763, France signed treaties ceding Louisiana to Spain to whom it remained for the next forty years. Due to Mexican, Cuban and Spanish influence, the race rules in New Orleans were more liberal, allowing for a class of free people of color. In 1803 Louisiana was sold back to the French, who then twenty days later sold it to the United States in the Louisiana Purchase. New Orleans had become the largest city in the Confederacy by the start of the Civil War in 1861. New Orleans culture is a melting pot of Spanish, French, Mexican, Native American, and African descent. Creole is a term that refers to mixed race natives of Louisiana. Many creoles were free and their ancestors often had the same rights as white people. They often received formal education and owned property and slaves. Creole culture was catholic and French speaking as opposed to the Protestant and English speaking whole of America. This amalgamation of cultures created a safe haven for personal expression, and caused the development and evolution of the culture and Jazz music. In 1724, Code Nior was implemented which gave slaves Sundays and holidays off. On their days off, slaves gathered any place they could find such as levees, backyards, and remote areas. In 1817, the mayor of New Orleans issued an ordinance which restricted slaves congregation to an area called Congo Square. On Sunday afternoons, men ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. Samurai Kyuzo Character Traits Kyuzo is a very interesting character in Akira Kurosawa s The Seven Samurai (1954). Kyuzo is first introduced to the audience during a duel with another Samurai. Kambei s eyes are locked on Kyuzo as he shows tremendous swordsmanship, skills not many samurai would accomplish in a lifetime. Kyuzo at first rejects the offer of joining the samurai, however, he later changes his mind. Through his serious, cold face it is hard to breakdown Kyuzo s character, nonetheless, we soon see the true qualities of his personality. Courage and rectitude are the most valuable bushido virtues Kyuzo holds. Throughout the movie Kyuzo makes some every decisive decisions, while also showing us his courage to risk his own live in order to save others. In Stephen Hunters ... Linking a specific bushido virtue with Kikuchiyo could either be hard or easy depending on how one may look at his attributes, however respect is one virtue Kikuchiyo shows in a not so obvious manner. In Dave Kehr s Calling All Samurai Avengers: Your Anime Has Arrived he wrote Kikuchiyo, regrettably, turns out not to be a colorful drunk, but a hulking, lunkheaded, poorly assembled robot, who has the rasping, braggart voice (Christopher R. Sabat) of a professional wrestler, and the impulse control to match . Although it is easy to see Kikuchiyo is not a polished samurai warrior, he holds some valuable character traits which ultimately provide aid for both the bandits, and the famers. Although he was never formally added to the group of Samurai by Kambei, Kikuchiyo showed his worthiness during the scene when the samurai arrive at the village. Great tension could be felt between both the famers and samurai until this was broken by Kikuchiyo s humorous character. The first sign of respect shown towards Kikuchiyo was by Heihachi as he said, I guess we re really seven now (Kurosawa 63), formally admitting Kikuchiyo to the group. It is filled with many different people in need, every person having their own reason or problems for being there. Occidentalism creates a dehumanising picture of the west, painted by its enemies. Buruma and Margalit (2004) state, Occidentalism has its origins in the West. Buruma (2004) argues, contemporary Islamic occidentalists are not fully foreign to the West they despise; many Islamic radicals borrow their anti western concepts from Russian and German philosophy. People with little history and even less intellectual capacity would have no idea why the hate and should hate the west, let alone understand the complex, pluralistic nature of western societies and culture. (Buruma and Margalit 2004:48) To argue that the main roots of anti western attitudes lie in the West is to belittle and underestimate the histories, traditions and cultures of non western societies. Anti westernism has been rising over the past two or three decades, it is currently closely associated with Islamic extremism. The Islamic contribution to Occidentalism is a religious vision of purity in which the idolatrous west has to be destroyed (Buruma 2004). Buruma and Margalit (2004) argue there are four hostile aspects of the occidental view of the West: a hatred of the city, rationality or the loss of the soul, an anti bourgeois attitude and anti feminism. • 19. Nietzsche, A Critic Of Religion Nietzsche is widely known as a critic of religion. In fact, he talks in depth about morality in regards to religion in his essays about the genealogy of morals. But the problem is not within religion itself or within morals. The problem is involved in the combination of the two to create society s understanding of morality through a very religious lens. In fact, Nietzsche has criticism for almost any set of morals constructed by a group of individuals and meant to be applied to society as a whole. True morality, according to Nietzsche, requires a separation from these group dynamic views of morality or at least a sincere look into where they originated and why they persist and a movement towards a more introverted, and intrinsically personalized understanding of what morals mean in spite of the fact that the normative force to which every member of society is exposed, in the form of obligations, codes of behavior, and other moral rules and guidelines, is disproportionally high (Korfmacher 6). As Nietzsche points out, within society there is a tendency to conflate religious standards with morality. In fact, it is difficult to discuss morality at all without running into issues that appear to be religious by their nature, but which, upon reflection, do not need to be put under that blanket. According to Nietzsche, we tend to mix religion and morality together because that is how we developed morality from the beginning of humanity. In fact, Nietzsche believes that all ... Analysis Of Lois Lowry s The Giver Newberry Medalist, Lois Lowry, reflects her fascination with the stages of life into her many novels that depict young adults coping with the challenges that come with growing up. And like many recognized authors Lowry has been asked again and again, Where did you get this idea? For each novel written by Lowry the inspiration arises from diverse occasions from her life. In The Giver Lowry explores the new territory of a fantasy realm of society that is free from pain, disorder, and overpopulation; but in a world without love, color, and memories the perfect society turns to dystopia. (Novels for Students) As an explanation for the origins of The Giver Lois Lowry, in her Newberry Medal acceptance speech, compares her inspiration for the novel to the river Jonas looks into, seeing the world differently for the first time. Her ideas started as a mere spring, trickling in from a glacier; and each of the tributaries came from memories, coming together to make the flowing current of the river. (Lowry) The river of inspiration began with a distant memory of Lowry s childhood, living in Tokyo in the close confines of an American army base. Within a foreign country she lived in a community with American neighbors, an American movie theater, church, schoolhouse, and everything that made them feel more at home. Suicide is all hands responsibility because Marines are one family that strive to do their best for the best interest of the institution. Marines care for one another and the moment someone commit suicide in the Marine Corps, it has a great impact on our emotional state of mind, mission readiness, and how to deal with suicide while still fresh in our environment. • 22. The Importance Of A Steady Source Of Light For thousands of years, man had used the sun as the main source of light during the day and fire by night. Light progressed from crude shells filled with moss or animal fat to pottery vessels filled with whale oil2. In 1802, Humphry David placed two wires from a battery to a piece of carbon and created the first electric light. While it did not produce light for very long and was too bright for everyday use, it gave hope to inventors everywhere who believed that a steady source of light could be created3. It was not until almost seventy years and countless hours of research later, that the modern electric light came into existence. This discovery literally changed the world. Thomas Edison recognized the importance of a steady source of light and is credited with the first of several patents on a bulb that used a carbonized bamboo filament. But perhaps his most important contribution was to recognize the future of the light bulb and he went on to invent a method of transporting electric current and tracking electric usage. Other inventors took the light bulb to its next level with the invention of the tungsten filament and how to use an inert gas like nitrogen inside the bulb to increase efficiency4. The first light bulb was called an incandescent bulb. This light bulb was originally produced by hand, but now the manufacturing process is entirely automated and light bulbs are produced in a machine that can produce more than 50,000 bulbs per hour5. From then on, many photographers and scientists developed photography in to what it is now. There are many significant aspects of photography in its first hundred years of history that formed and shaped the basis of photography technically and artistically. Personally, the most significant aspects of the photograph lie in its beginning when it all first started with the daguerreotypes and the calotype that opened the world of photography which have lead the world to be what it is now. The first widely usable photographic processes that was introduced to the public were the daguerreotype and the calotype. There were precedents before the daguerreotype and calotype but it wasn t commercially used and was more close to a research rather than an art form. Each method produced technically different outcomes by using different methods but they devoted to the same result: both processes would develop photography into what we recognize today as photography. The two methods would inspired wide use of the camera, which presented problems with the photographic technique. • 38. Analysis of Trifles by Susan Glaspell Essay Trifles is a play with a unified plot. Although there are verbal flashbacks to the events of the day of the murder of John Wright, the play s entire plot begins and ends in a span of one day. The author also extends the unified plot to create a single setting (the farmhouse kitchen). The plot centers on John Wright s murder. Mrs. Wright is the main suspect; an investigation is taking place as to the motive or reason for the crime. The Sheriff, Mr. Hale and the County Attorney are introduced first to the audience. They are investigating the crime scene. The women, Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peters, accompany the men to gather whatever of Mrs. Wright s belongings that she needs in jail. This exposition turns ironic when the women end ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mrs. Peters, we ll call her the antagonist, repeatedly brings up the fact that the men are only doing their job and that the law will determine Mrs. Wright s fate. Mrs. Hale, on the other hand, as the protagonist, resents the men s sneaking and snooping around. Now she turns the men s stereotype of women against them. She feels guilty about not being around the Wright s farmhouse more often. The climax of the play unfolds as the women find an empty birdcage with a broken hinge. As the two women speculate why it was empty, Mrs. Hale describes Mrs. Wright to Mrs. Peters as she knew her when they were single women. The suspect s maiden name was Minnie Foster. She was a beautiful songstress. A voice that was muted when she became Mrs. Wright. When Mrs. Hale finds a dead bird in Mrs. Wright s sewing box, she soon recognizes the obvious reason why John Wright was murdered. The audience sees character motivation in Mrs. Wright. Mr. Wright was a man who used silence and coldness to control and mold his wife into someone he thought she ought to be. He killed the singing bird, which was a symbol for Mrs. Wright as Minnie Foster. In an indirect way, he killed her joy of singing, her spirit, keeping her in her own cage which she can not escape from. Unless she got rid of what (or who) was holding her prisoner. As she comes up with her own judgments, Mrs. Hale ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, the Europeans were very interested in developing two way trade with China. Europeans had to pay directly in silver for the porcelain, silk, spices, and tea they imported from China. This was a significant stress on the European economy, which was already strained from internal tensions. In the early 1700 s the Portuguese introduced a new form of smoke able opium to China. The opium was mixed with tobacco and became a new commodity in China. Opium trade was originally dominated by the Dutch, but was soon taken over by the British due to British rule in India and the foundation of the East India Company. The British ... Reasons For The Cuban Missile Crisis During 1962, the United States and the Soviet Union were in conflict due to the Soviet Union placing missiles in Cuba, known today as the Cuban missile crisis. In attempt to avoid nuclear conflict and force the removal of the missiles, Kennedy was faced with three options; to bomb the missile sites and/or conduct both sea and airborne landings, or blockade the island and reassure the removal of the missiles. Kennedy decided to blockade Cuba as it was the only option that would result in the removal of the missiles without it escalating to war. Kennedy had three options: To bomb the missile sites, to bomb the sites and conduct both sea and airborne landings, or to blockade Cuba and to confirm the transfer of the missiles from the island. At first, Kennedy was enraged and wanted to attack the missile sites, but the issue was whether to let Khrushchev and Castro know his plan. If he had let them know, the Soviet Union could have responded earlier by striking against Berlin or their bases in Turkey. However, if it would be a surprise attack many people would be killed, equalling to further conflict. Kennedy reasoned it would not be a good idea due to the fact it was impulsive and the consequences would be drastic. The Joints Chiefs of Staff added that a surprise air strike would lead to an invasion.Although the air strike proposal was done for, the Joints Chief of Staff argued against the blockade debating that it would be inefficient and useless. Not only did they mention that the blockade would not remove the missiles for the simple fact that they were already there, but they also pointed out that doing so would cause the Soviet Union to do it also. Forcing the removal of the missiles would mean the United States would have to remove their missiles surrounding the Soviet Union too, or so they thought. Although a blockade had its cons, it was the safer way to go and would cause less extreme consequences according to Secretary McNamara and Robert F. Kennedy. • 42. The Assault Rifle Ban If the government would take a more rapid pace in a full assault weapon ban, then the murder rate in the country would drop dramatically. The U.S. has one of the highest murder rates for developed countries such as Japan who has a murder rate of 0.4 per 100,000 people and Britain with a 1.2 per 100,000 people. The U.S. has a murder rate of 4.7 per 100,000 people and it is not getting any better. A ban on assault rifles would have a positive effect on the murder rate. Assault rifles are known to be the most dangerous firearm in the world because of its rapid fire capability and its deadly range and damage. That is what makes it such a unique and interesting weapon that should not be taken lightly. The government has been working on some bills but they are not putting enough work into making it happen. Senator Dianne Feinstein, who is in charge of the processes of the ban, is suggesting is that the government passes a bill that will limit the capacity of ammunition in a magazine and ban assault weapons that are too dangerous for public use. The safety of U.S. citizens is vital and banning assault rifles will help make the United States a safer place. Assault rifles are defined as one of the most dangerous firearms. The government is working to try to solve the assault weapons crisis, a problem is what they need to ban and what do they need to limit. Despite that he continues to participate in the menial activities of this society. Previously, we noted that Selden is less restricted in this society and his male gender allows his reputation to stand strong. This is also the case for his sense of freedom. Well, that what a few characters think in this play, but, there s one character that sticks out. A character that shows that he would do anything to get what he wants. Even if that means losing his pride (which is hard to do) in himself and in his family name. What character do you think he is, dynamic or static character? I think in a Raisin in the sun, Walter Lee is a dynamic character who is Ignorant and Arrogance. One of the reasons I said Walter Lee is a dynamic character because he is ignorant. Money can make people crazy, like Walter. Also in Act 3 he almost gives up on everything. His family, his son and wife, and mostly himself. Instead of giving up, he stood up for his family by not giving into a white man deal for the money. This shows even if he did almost give into a deal that would break the Younger family dignity. Walter is dynamic because a dynamic character changes thought out the book or play.
