Introduction
An aircraft's landing gear system is
an essential component that
supports the weight of the aircraft
during takeoff, landing, and ground
operations. Its several retractable
and accessible parts enable safe
landings and takeoffs on a variety of
surfaces.

could be.
Landing gear struts
Landing gear struts, which are usually hydraulic
cylinders, support the weight of the aircraft and
provide a smoother impact by absorbing shock
during landings. They have several designs,
such as fixed or retractable configurations and
single or multiple struts, depending on the kind
of aircraft and the requirements of operation.
Functioning of Landing Gear
Extension and Retraction :
Extension and retraction of landing gear involve
activating hydraulic or electric systems to move
the gear in or out, while monitoring indicators for
confirmation. It's crucial for safe takeoff, landing,
and ground operations.
In short, the landing gear system is crucial for
safe aircraft operations, providing support,
stability, and shock absorption during
takeoff, landing, and taxiing. Regular
maintenance is essential, and advancements
in technology enhance its efficiency and
safety.
