The Pros Of The Viet Cong
The Vietnamese had a large advantage during the War because the civilians helped fight, the jungle
came with many dangers and helped with guerrilla warfare, and the Vietnamese knew the land and
tunnels. No war is easy for those who fight it and each conflict brings its own challenges (Llewellyn).
The Viet Cong were successful fighters because they were used to fighting countries to stay
communist. This allowed them to develop many tactics. The American mission was to secure South
Vietnam, gain trust and loyalty of the citizens, and eradicate the Viet Cong. However, it seemed nearly
impossible (Jennifer). Most American soldiers who were drafted completed eight weeks of basic
training, followed by courses in infantry, artillery, engineering ... Show more content on

Dance communicates a variety of things; it not only entertains but also educates. The way in which
and individual dances can contest or propagate ideas. Dance in films, commercials, television and
music videos often have underling hegemonic concepts. A way of illustrating this is in Fifth Harmony
s latest music video for their song Work From Home. In Fifth Harmony s music video Work from
Home featuring Ty Dolla $ign the propagated sexualized idea of femininity through dance is
communicated. In this document I will go into more in depth about the performers costumes and focus
on three scenes where the performers movements convey the propagated idea of femininity in

Parents Whose Child Died From A Drug Overdose
Introduction
Parents whose child died from a drug overdose not only are grieving the loss of their child, they are
also susceptible to mental health issues, and may experience a greater amount of grief (Feigelman et
al., 2011). In part because drug related deaths tend to be viewed as unfavorable, with the parents often
being blamed (Feigelman et al., 2011) (Guy, 2004) (da Silva, Noto, Formigoni, 2007). Furthermore,
parents experience feelings of guilt for not interceding, and preventing the death of their child
(Feigelman et al., 2011) (Guy, 2004) (da Silva, Noto, Formigoni, 2007). Moreover, due to the social
and physical effects felt after the loss of a child, parents need additional support to potentially avert
any negative effects (Aho et al., 2014) ) (Arnold Gemma, 2008; Hogan Schmitt, 2002; Kreicbergs,
Lannen, Onelov, Wolfe, 2007; Murphy, Johnson, Cain, Das Gupta, Dimond Lohan, 1998; White,
Walker, Richards, 2008).
Description of program
The proposal of this project is to offer a service to parents grieving the loss of their child, with
emphasis on children who passed away as the result of a drug overdose. This program would provide
a group therapy type of counseling for parents searching for help. Research has indicated that social
support is effective in the grief process (Aho et al., 2014) (Arnold Gemma, 2008; Hogan Schmitt,
2002; Kreicbergs, Lannen, Onelov, Wolfe, 2007; Murphy, Johnson, Cain, Das Gupta, Dimond Lohan,

INTRODUCTION
Factor X is a vitamin K dependent, liver produced serine protease that serves a pivotal role in
coagulation as the first enzyme in the common pathway to fibrin formation. . Factor X deficiency is a
rare heritable bleeding disorder with autosomal recessive inheritance pattern. General population
prevalence is estimated to be 1:1000000 with up to 1:500 carriers1. Till now 50 cases of factor X
deficiency have been reported in medical literature2,3,4. Inherited FX deficiency was identified by
two independent groups. In 1956, Telfer and co workers described a 22 years old woman named Miss
Prower with a bleeding diathesis, she had an abnormal thromboplastin generation test result and a
prolonged prothrombin time that was corrected with the addition of plasma from two patients taking
coumarin analogues. In 1957, Hougie and co workers described a 36 years old man named Mr. Stuart
thought to have FVII deficiency until it was found that his plasma could correct the prolonged
prothrombin time of another FVII deficient patient. FX became known as the Stuart Prower factor
until it was given its official nomenclature ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Factor X is activated by other coagulation factors (XII becomes XIIa, XI XIa, IX IXa, VIII and lastly,
X). Factor IXa normally activates factor X to factor Xa. Then Factor Xa activates other blood proteins,
including factor V, and factor II (prothrombin) which is converted to thrombin. This chain reaction
allows the coagulation process to continue. If one of the coagulation factors is absent or deficient, the
chain reaction is broken, and the bleeding is not

The Difficulties Of Aboriginal People s Dreaming
Aboriginal people believe their ancestors were created in Australia at a time in the past called the

Pay It Forward Reflection
A young boy in social studies class is given an assignment, along with the rest of the students, to come
up with an idea that could change the world. As well as coming up with an idea, the students also have
to put it into action. Trevor McKinney (Haley Joel Osment) does not know nor understand how a kid
his age can change the world. When he is riding his bike home from school, he passes up a site where
a group of homeless people live, and the idea of how he can change the world comes to him. He
figures that if he helps one person, then that person can help three, and so on. This begins his plan to
Pay it Forward.
The movie Pay It Forward (based on a novel by Catherine Ryan Hide) is directed by Mimi Leder at
Warner Brothers Studio. It was released in the year 2000, being a PG 13 drama. Starring in this movie
is Kevin Spacey (Eugene Simonet), Helen Hunt (Arlene McKinney), Haley Joel Osment (Trevor
McKinney), Jon Bon Jovi (Arlene s husband), and Angie Dickinson (Arlene s mother). The main idea
of the movie is for a class of kids to come up with a way to change the world and do it not just talk
about it. The project does not go exactly as Trevor plans it, but it comes out bigger than he could have
imagined.
The acting portrayed in this movie by Haley Joel Osment as the young Trevor McKinney is excellent.

Why I Am Legend Archetypes
I Am Legend In today s media, we see the Last Man on Earth classic archetype in novels and movies.
They are depicted as brave beyond words and can conquer anything in their path. Sure, they hit a few
bumps in the road during their conquest, but it always works out in the end. The protagonist shows
unbelievable strength in perseverance during his journey. Typically in this archetype, the Last Man is
striving to discover something that may bring mankind back. For Robert Neville, this is not the case.
In the novel, I Am Legend Robert Neville is a failed Last Man on Earth archetype. He does not have
the bravery to continue on throughout his conquest and continuously proves himself to be weak. He
attempts to do his best to be this archetype, but it isn t who he is.
In the novel, I am legend, Neville becomes a monster in the world that he lives in and many of the
vampires are afraid of him, he s the killer that comes out during the day and only wants to kill them.
So essentially, he isn t a hero at all, but a monster to the new world that ... Show more content on

change the world back to what he remembered, but that is simply impossible. Many typical Last man

this story. Neville is a character that tries to be the hero in a world full of monsters but to the people

Paddock s Art Analysis
Paddock is known for many different art media fields such as sculptor, graphic design, and furniture
designer. I was inspired, however, by his paintings and knew of him through those as well. I chose to
recreate one of Ewing Paddock s paintings from the London Underground series. I was inspired by his
works because each of them are unique and diverse. Paddock s paintings also interested me because
they were all recently painted. He started the London Underground series in 2009 and it took him
three years to complete 25 canvases, painting around 70 people. In each of his paintings you can see
the emotion that the person is giving off which is one reason I enjoy them. All 25 of the canvas are

Kikuyu tribe will be the ones suffering the most from environmental justice at the hands of Colney
and Pitts if these deal is not adjust to were the Kikuyu have more voice in what happens or the
government can just say no. The International Center for Ethno botanical Research is a stakeholder but
I believe they are stakeholders on the side of the Kikuyu tribe and the ecosystem. ICER is a nonprofit
organization dedicated to environmental renewal, environmental research and tribal community
development. ICER seems to have a biocentrism view of man and plants and animals should coexist in
the world. ICER is trying to protect the endangered plant life and animal species in the forest of Kenya
and protect the tribes living in the forest. I believe ICER is genuinely trying to help the Kikuyu tribe
and the region because of the ethical beliefs and not for any type of monetary gain. Eco Smiles is
another stakeholder I believe who is on the side of the Kikuyu tribe. Eco Smiles is a conservationist s
organization who is dedicated to protecting the local ecosystems in the forest of Kenya. Eco Smiles

The, The Neighbor Behind Us Practices Scream Therapy
The neighbor behind us practices scream therapy in his shower almost every morning. I thought it was
weird; he was only 17 and scream therapy is usually when you reenact a particularly disturbing past
experience occurring early in life. Presumably, I figured he might have been six or seven when this
horrendous event happened, but by the sound of it, this, this was much bigger than dropped cookies
and lost dinosaurs. These screams; they sound as if he has still been living in his own misery. Louis
did not come to school on Monday, or Tuesday for that matter. I didn t even hear his screams on those
two mornings; I figured he was done with it, but just my luck. On Wednesday, the 8th, Louis practiced
his therapy right on schedule, 7:02 A.M. Being the person I am, I knew it wasn t a coincidence. I
needed answers, but it would be weird to just ask him right? I started pacing and strategizing ways for
the topic to come up. Would I actually have to become friends with him? Would he actually have to
become friends with me? Louis missed French that morning. He never missed French. It was his
favorite subject; I mean, why wouldn t it be? He s from France; the dudes got the highest grade in the
class. He never missed a moment to correct our mistakes, he was kind of a social pariah. Half of the
time nobody could even understand what he was saying, he always mumbled French stuff under his
breath. I did not see him in math either. I wonder why he was missing all of his favorite

The Changing Nature, Spatial Patterns and Ecological...
Examine the changing nature, spatial patterns and ecological dimensions of a global economic activity
Wine production involves two parts of economic activity viticulture and wine making in the winery. In
the global context, wine production is dynamic due to the influence of globalization, technological
advancements and extensive research. These have essentially influenced the nature, spatial patterns
and the ecological dimensions of the wine industry.
Wine production involves the growing and harvesting of grapes in vineyards. The vines require
specific environmental elements to be able to grow grapes suitable for winemaking. They require
temperature between 10C 20C to produce the correct sugar composition through photosynthesis. In ...

These are the new world producers which are generally located in the Southern Hemisphere. Australia,
Argentina, South Africa and the US have growing wine industries and are taking a large percentage of
the global market share from old producing nations.
The expansion of wine production is a result of expansive technological advancements which have
made it possible to grow wines in inappropriate locations. For example, wines are genetically
enhanced in most new world countries in order for them to survive a deficiency in the environment
which may include high temperatures or a lack of rainfall. Irrigation systems area prime example that
have assisted iin the wine industry of Australia.
Asia has also experimented with viticulture as many developing nations, such as china, have identified
a market they are able to enter. Indeed, this is a result of the genetically enhanced wines who can
survive in the differing climatic conditions.
Ecological Dimensions
Ecological dimensions of wine production primarily centre on the use of organic viticulture. Since the
earlier days of production, industries have realized they had used a devastating amount of
agrochemicals and fertilisers to grow their wines. Today, as environmental views have changed, many
wine producers have initiated or promoted the notion of organic viticulture. This involves the use of
organic materials and using

Pros And Cons Of Cochlear Implants
Cochlear Implant: Its Pros and Cons
Hearing loss is one of the most difficult disabilities you might face. It has many causes, such as birth
defect, loud noise, illness and accidents. Luckily, there are many ways to treat this condition, such as
hearing aids and devices, among which a very popular choice called cochlear implant.
A cochlear implant uses an electronic device that is surgically implanted within your ear, particularly
its canal. It is performed if you suffer from severe or worsening hearing loss. Essentially, the implant
replaces the function of your inner ear s hair cells, which help you register sound vibrations and when
damaged, are not able to function. While a cochlear implant will not give you back 100% of your
hearing ability, it is enough to allow you to hear and understand most sounds and communicate better
with other people. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It poses some surgical risks and complications.
You should know that surgery, in and of itself, always runs risks, and if you have any medical
condition prior to it, it may make things more difficult healing may be hindered or complications may
arise. Considering that cochlear implants require a surgical insertion, you should always talk to your
physician regarding your current and past health concerns. Surgery can also lead to numbness of the
surgical site, muscle spasms, minor facial paralysis or occasional facial numbness.
Even older adults who receive the implant might have permanent or temporary electronic conversion
complications in the brain, which are not painful nonetheless. Electronic signals might not register
fully, causing some hearing and speech hindrances.
Moreover, some people will have surgical complications or are found to be not compatible with the
device. Their body might reject the implant, which could require further surgery or removal. If the
device fails, patients will experience around the same level of hearing loss or deafness before until
repair is done.

Those hoping for a change in Egypt at the exit of Hosni Mubarak are homeless children who have
been estimated to be about 50, 000 in the Cairo streets alone. During the protest, at least one street
child died in the chaotic moments by a gun shot. Another female street child was denied treatment at

Ambition In Julius Caesar
The nature of the human mind is that if one doesn t like something, fix it. That statement applies to
everyday life, in finances, career choices, and relationships. The delicate relationship between a ruler
and his people balances on thin ice; be a leader and take charge, take the glory and power given and
run. Do not, however, exploit this glory and power to the point of upsetting the people. Julius Caesar,
like many rulers before and after him, worked tirelessly to strike this balance. However, his
assassination proved that those attempts were futile. Caesar was murdered by his own people, and
furthermore, his friends, for reasons really unknown to history. However, through pieces written
sometimes years later by others, historians are able ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cicero in his piece Roman History says, Behold, here you have a man who was ambitious to be kind
of the Roman People and master of the whole world; and he achieved it! The man who maintains that
such an ambition is morally right is a madman; for he justifies the destruction of law and liberty and
thinks their hideous and detestable suppression glorious. Cicero here is simply explaining that the
power Caesar holds, and his wish to have power over everybody, is morally incorrect. His ways of
handling the law and ruling makes him a madman for all he has done. He is inserting the idea here that
Caesar s assassins had in mind this hunger for power Caesar held as a possible reason for his demise.
Once faced with the powers of a ruler, he is simply after more, leading him to argue that something
about that want of power is not right of a man. This argument is again attempted to be explained by
Nicolaus of Damascus in Life of Augustsus. In this, Nicolaus touches on many points of possible
contention, including the search for power Caesar had. He did not share his glory with others who
deserved it, taking all of the power that resulted for himself. Nicolaus eloquently ties up his point in
the statement, When he became exalted through many notable victories (which was fair enough) and
began to think himself superhuman the common people worshipped him, but he began to be
obnoxious to the optimates and to those who were trying to obtain a share in the government. The
point is made here that as Caesar grew in the ranks ad gained more power of the people, he became
less inclined to share this power with those attempting to also move up in government. Once given a
good deal of power, Caesar let that get to his head and affect how he lead his people, as

Teenage Girls and Body Image Essay
Teenage girls are at an impressionable time in their lives. Mass Media is a key idea in one of the
factors of socialization that become important to teenagers. Teenagers look to the media for a sense of
entertainment. Whether it is movies, magazines, or even some aspects of social media, teenagers get a
lot of influence from the media s message. The problem with this is the media has a specific way of
doing things and can be negative to a susceptible teenage girl. Media s way of portraying a woman can
be skewed and unrealistic way from what reality is. Teenage girls then have a desire for this look or
way. In this essay the three ways I will describe as to why the media can negatively affect a teenage
girls body image is by showing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In a study done of female beauty icons, two time frames were studied, 1959 1978 and 1979 1988. In
the research, the women who were portrayed as beautiful, and the icons in the media, were observed
and over half of them had fit into the standards of having one of the eating disorders, anorexia nervosa
(Vonderen Kinnally, 2012). Mass media can have an adverse effect teenage girls by showing body
types that are unrealistic as the normal and desirable type of body to have. Young women look to the
mass media to see the societal norms for beauty, and what they see can influence the way that they
view themselves. By portraying women who possess a body type that is uncommon, it shows teenage
girls that they need to change themselves to reflect the images they are shown. Portraying body types
that emphasize thinness and exaggerated features, the mass media try to establish what is socially
acceptable. Teenage girls who see this message feel pressured to become what they see, often not
realizing that the body types portrayed in media are unrealistic.
One reason mass media is so effective at portraying unrealistic body types as normal is because the
mass media helps to set what is perceived as normal. In an article about the mass media s role in body
image disturbance and eating disorders, J. Kevin Thompson and Leslie Heinberg state, A sociocultural
model emphasizes that the current societal standard for thinness, as well as other difficult to achieve
standards of beauty

Shiloh Symbolism
One such symbol is the log cabin that Leroy wants to build for Norma Jean. The log cabin is
mentioned continually throughout the story in discussions between Leroy and Norma Jean. At first
glance the log cabin seems to be just an obsession by Leroy s thinkering side (Leroy builds numerous
models during the course of the story such as a B 17 Bomber (p. 804)). However, the log cabin
actually represents Leroy and Norma Jean s marriage. Leroy wants to build the cabin for Norma Jean
while Norma Jean thinks the cabin is a stupid idea. Determinedly, Leroy states that I m going to build

Birds are used in Shiloh to describe a sense of freedom for Norma Jean but a sense of nesting for
Leroy. While Leroy wants to be at home with Norma Jean and settle down in the log cabin, a nest,
Norma Jean wants to be free and fly off like a bird would. Symbolically, the narrator is likening the
main character to birds: It (Leroy s rig) sits in the backyard like a gigantic bird that has flown home to
roost. (p. 804). Leroy s rig is an extension of him and shows that both he and his rig are home to stay
and settle with Norma Jean. However, Norma Jean has a different association with birds. Additionally,
the narrator describes that, She is picking cake crumbs from the cellophane wrapper, like a fussy bird.
(p. 812). Obviously, this relates Norma Jean to a bird in the way she was eating the cake crumbs.
Moreover, Norma Jean is specifically stated as a fussy bird . Norma Jean has finally hit her end and
wants to leave but does not know how to say it to Leroy. Norma Jean seems fussy to Leroy but in
reality she is conflicted internally and ready to move on with her life. While birds are an important
symbol in the story, the graveyard at Shiloh is immensely important as

Reaction Paper On Shinobi
During the Genesis era the Shinobi franchise was among the most notable series produced by SEGA.
Two decades after its premiere Shinobi III is still considered a definite genre landmark, delivering
challenging Asia action, top notch level design and a soundtrack regarded as one of video game
history s finest.
Shinobi X, aka Shinobi Legions (US) / Shin Shinobi Den (JP), released in 1995, replaced the drawn
visuals with digi sprites technically reminiscent of the early Mortal Kombat titles. While it stays close
to the gameplay formula the Shinobi series is known for, few changes have been made, the most
obvious one being the abandonment of former installments protagonist Joe Musashi.
The story orbits around Sho and his evil brother Kazuma. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For a game released some 20 years ago it looks fantastic! Frankly, the digitized sprites could have
benefited from a higher resolution, but scrolling is smooth and the backgrounds, while merely 2D
drawings, manage to create an immersive atmosphere, matching the varying settings of the stages.
As full motion video was THE thing back in the 90s, the stages are wired together by amazingly
ridiculous real action scenes, featuring B cast actors and laughable special effects. They are greatly
entertaining though (in fact one of the reasons to own this game!) and give you a little insight on what
s cookin with the story.
Shinobi X is also easily the most violent entry in series, complete with blood spills and antagonists
being split ahalf.
The music however, while decently arranged and exciting enough to get you pumped during boss
encounters, doesn t reach the level of the Shinobi III tunes, which have become somewhat legendary.
The US and European versions of Shinobi X have different soundtracks. I am referring to the
unaltered US one, which is the same as the Japanese release.
While many SEGA enthusiasts will likely award Shinobi III as their favorite episode, Shinobi X
delivers enough gameplay and presentation goodness to be considered a must have title for Saturn

Fedex Case Study Essay
1. From the point of view of the industry incumbents, is the express mail industry attractive? How has
Airborne survived, and recently prospered, in its industry? Is its success attributable to its capabilities,
its position, or industry attractiveness?
The express mail industry can easily be considered an inherently tough industry to operate within
given the myriad of factors that come into play, such as unions, government regulations, cost of
technological advancement, and international borders to name a few. Despite this, the industry could
be seen as offering opportunities, which could be seized by attracting customers based on the quality
of the service being offered. Consequently, this also encouraged mimicking between ... Show more

Conversely, they could be shipped to hubs (which passengers did not do like today) where they would
be sorted during the night and then sent onwards to their final destination from there thus offering
overnight services.
Fred also benefitted from being a first mover in the express mail industry. UPS that had been offering
delivery services since the beginning of the 20th century. However, they had only relied on their
ground network and did not establish their own fleet of aircraft until the early 80 s, after RPS had
shook their existence and after seeing how fast Fedex s business was growing. Being a first mover
enabled Fred to start small and grow the business in line with demand. Fedex did not have to catch up
to an industry incumbent since he was the one inventing the express mail airfreight business. If not, it
would have called for a much greater investment and made it more difficult for him to penetrate an
existing market. UPS on the other hand was able to enter the market since they were an established
company with means to invest heavily in this new service. It is also likely that by being an early
entrant, it also made it somewhat easier for UPS to start their own fleet than it would be for anybody
to make that same attempt today, not omitting the fact that they had great experience in delivery
services at that point as well.

Mission Command Analysis Brigadier General (BG) James M. Gavin, 82nd Airborne Division, U.S.
Army, was one of the distinguish Generals to contribute in the Battle of the Bulge in 1944. BG Gavin
commanded the 82nd and the 101st Airborne Divisions. He was responsible for many decisive
operations that were key for the success of the battle. He maintained firing positions for engaging the
Germans counteroffensive attacks. Simultaneously, his Mission Command practices brought him to
the success of occupying two important cities in Belgium. Brigadier General Gavin demonstrated

In airborne operations, he was always the first one to jump. Even in moments of engaging heavy fire
from the enemy, BG Gavin would be side to side with his troops. Identifying their needs and spending
time with them created a stronger relationship in the organization. There was no need to reiterate, he
was in charge, everyone knew he was the General. Therefore, He demonstrated that he was there to
lead, but as well to fight and train as an ordinary Soldier. The constant presence with his troops was
the most significant act of building cohesive teams through mutual trust. In Fact, how he found the
time and energy to be constantly with his frontline troops and still direct the overall activities of the

trust has to be mutual. But more from Soldiers to leaders. When Soldiers can rely on their leader, they

My Career In Pharmacy
I have decided that I want to pursue a career in pharmacy. It is my final decision. I had said these two
sentences to my parents on a cold night in December 2016. My parents were stunned. They did not
speak at all for about two minutes. I stared into their eyes and could feel my heart racing loudly. I
knew that they probably were upset because I did not fulfill their dream, which was to be come a
medical doctor. I started to remember all the times that I would tell my parents and sister about the
wonderful knowledge I had gained about in biology and chemistry classes in both high school and
college. I was determined to increase my knowledge in these classes and was ambitious to keep up my
good grades as well. Although, in the past few years, my grades have been dipping. I had transferred
from community college to UC Davis and was having a very rough time. It was hard for me to live
away from home, since I did not really experience this feeling in my whole life. I started to feel
stressed and got quite sick in part of the time that I was in UC Davis. It did take a toll on my grades,
but I still was not willing to ruin the rest of my life because of my grades. I wanted to step out of the
darkness and come into the light, and try to steer my life into the right direction and become a
successful woman in the future. Then, after my reminiscence, my mind suddenly returned back to the
present. My mother got up from the couch and came up to me and put her hand on my shoulder. She

Lastly, the World Bank and International Monetary Fund are two institutions within the UN that help
to develop countries socially and economically by helping them with debt and jobs so that they can
survive. The UN has many organizations that provide health and relief aid as well as organizations that
provide finance which is why they are still a major contributor in our world. One of the United
Nations biggest accomplishments is stabilizing the world and creating a better world for future
generations. Many volunteers and peacekeepers are helping civilians to get through their struggles by
helping them retrieve their basic human rights. Unfortunately, many countries are so corrupt that
nothing can be done to help the innocent civilians. However, the UN has made mistakes in the past
and are constantly trying to improve on what can be done within certain corrupt countries. For
example, in Sudan multiple villages were attacked where many civilians lived which resulted in close
to 300,000 people getting killed. The UN did not want to get involved so they asked members of the
African Union to negotiate. This is a clear example that if the government wants to attack, they will
attack. The best solution is for peacekeepers to keep their heads down and stay away rather than
getting involved and potentially getting killed. The war in Sudan has been continuous for decades and

The Optimization Of Cloud Computing Essay
With the increasing number of users of cloud, the load/ traffic also increases and it becomes important
to have some techniques to balance the load equally among all the nodes, so that the user doesn t
suffer and the services are delivered effectively and efficiently. Therefore the need for Load Balancing
algorithms arises. There are a number of techniques available for load balancing. In this paper,
different kinds of load balancing algorithms in cloud computing along with the challenges and the
qualitative metrics for the various load balancing algorithms are presented.
Keywords: Load balancing, dynamic and static algorithms, Virtual Servers.
1. Introduction The definition of Cloud Computing as issued by the U.S. National Institute of
Standards and Technology (NIST) September, 2011 is: Cloud computing is a model for enabling
ubiquitous, convenient, on demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing
resources (e.g., networks, servers, storage, applications, and services) that can be rapidly provisioned
and released with minimal management effort or service provider interaction. This cloud model is
composed of five essential characteristics, three service models, and four deployment models. Cloud
computing is a type of Internet based computing that provides shared computer processing resources
and data to computers and other devices on demand. It provides an easy and flexible way of storing,
retrieving huge data without bothering about the resources. With

Essay about Remains of the Day
Remains of the Day
Kazuo Ishiguro s Remains of the Day is about the struggles one man, Mr. Stevens, has with
relationships with his father, Miss Kenton and his employer, but the struggle he focuses on the most is
to be a great butler. He pushes himself physically to work as hard as he can, as well as mentally to
determine what makes a butler great. Stevens sacrifices all normal human encounters with those
around him in order to be an emotionless person. When one encounters them, one simply knows one is
in the presence of greatness (44). Stevens, through many trials, proves himself to be a great butler.
Stevens possesses the emotional restraint which only the English race are capable of (43). When his
father takes ill ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When returning from a date Miss Kenton asks Mr. Stevens, Are you not in the least interested in what
too place tonight between my acquaintance and I? (218). Mr. Stevens acts as though he is more
interested in returning to his work when really he is dying to know. Miss Kenton does all she can to
get Stevens to show some sort of emotion, but she always fails. She even tries to anger him by telling
him that she and her acquaintance often pass the time amusing [themselves] with anecdotes about
[him] (219). He just brushes her comments off and goes about his business.
Stevens fixation with being a great butler instigates his lack of personality and social skills. He has
pushed his feelings deep within himself for so many years that he does not know how to act naturally
around people. When his employer, Mr. Faraday, suggests Stevens taking a road trip one day, Mr.
Stevens spends the next few weeks trying to think of a way to bring up the topic again:
It nevertheless made sense not to broach the topic when he was preoccupied or distracted. A refusal in
such circumstances may well not reflect my employer s true feelings on the matter... I had to choose
my moment wisely. (12)
Stevens does not know how to deal with people naturally. He has to plan a conversation and responses
to his employer so that he appears at ease, when really he is extremely nervous. Stevens, who always
has his guard up, is not capable of

Symptoms And Symptoms Of Psychotic Depression
Psychotic depression, or psychosis, is a mental state of false believes, known as delusions, or false
sights or sounds, known as hallucinations. This type is usually not associated with depression, but
about 20% of people diagnosed with depression have severe episodes where the person can see or hear
things that are not really there. (Lliades, 2015) The symptoms of psychotic depression can possibly be
agitation, anxiety, constipation, hypochondria, insomnia, physical immobility, intellectual impairment,
and delusions or hallucinations. These are the most common symptoms for people suffering.
(Goldberg, 2014, August 21) The cause of this is when a person has a subtype of major depression that
occurs when a severe depressive illness includes another form of psychosis. The psychosis can be
hallucinations, delusions, or some other break from reality. (Goldberg, 2014, August 21) The diagnosis
can be diagnosed by a doctor like all other types of depression. Also, other illnesses will be ruled out,
including the other depression types. Treatment for psychotic depression is usually recommended by
the doctor to be given in the hospital setting. This way the patient can be closely monitored by the
health professions. A variety of medications are used to stabilize the person s mood. The medications
typically include antidepressants along with antipsychotic medicine. These affect neurotransmitters
that allow communication between nerve cells in the brain that regulate our ability to

The Other Side Of The River By Alex Kotlowitz

IAH 207
17 March 2015
Twin Cities, Twin Races Reading the book, The Other Side of the River, by Alex Kotlowitz, the author
writes about the relationship between two towns in Michigan, and the death of a young boy named
Eric McGinnis. The two towns, Benton Harbor and St. Joseph, are called the Twin Cities , but are
ironically not related in any way. St. Joseph is 95 percent white, while Benton Harbor is impoverished
and is 92 percent black. Throughout the book Kotlowitz questions the residents from both towns and
how they are affected by the environment around them. The author also starts with the climax on the
first page of the book the death of Eric, and uses this as an technique to tell the story of the
disagreements between the two towns. With the murder of Eric, Kotlowitz identifies the climax at the
beginning of the book and how it has been affecting the two towns which are physically only two and
a half miles apart, and the river that flows between them only being a quarter of a mile wide. St.
Joseph is a rich area while Benton Harbor is in poverty. This is relevant to the state of Michigan
because many bodies of people migrate to certain regions of the state and are easily divided by
different cultures and beliefs. Even with a small river providing the gap between these two regions,
Michigan is known for its divided groups of people. With this division, the death of Eric with his
drowning in the river resided

What Causes Romeo And Juliet To Blame
Blame is when a person assigns blame to others. People resort to blame because it soften the blow for
them and helps relieve them from feeling guilty. In the play Romeo and Juliet, blame plays the factor
of placing the deaths of Romeo and Juliet into someone s hand so their families could have peace.
Blame is placed when people know they are wrong but no not want the guilt. Romeo and Juliet are
both to blame for their deaths. Both of them together made rash decisions and did not wait to tell the
other person their plans to stay together. In the play Juliet went to Friar Laurence hoping to protect
herself from her father. She took a drink from a substance he gave her without Romeo knowing and
Romeo saw her after thinking she was dead so he drank poison to be with her. It caused the ripple
effect of them wanted to do everything to be together but they did one thing after another and caused
their own death. Following this, Romeo got himself in trouble for Juliet because he was not thinking

Aegis Amber Robertson Summary
Robertson, Amber. Women s Agency as Represented in Various Works of Medieval Literature. Aegis:
Otterbein Humanities Journal, vol. 10, 2005.
Robertson discusses the representation of women in the Lais of de France and how they were
constructed around the feudal society and were meant to represent the female agency. Robertson goes
on to explain the feudal society and how it is a social ladder where everyone gets their opinions from
who is on the very top this being the Church and the aristocracy (Robertson 68). Robertson makes the
point that these are two facets that are least acquainted with women. Robertson notes that medieval
people also elevated the status of women at the same time as decimating it. Women ladies were
compared to the Virgin Mary, who represents all things a woman should be: chaste, delicate, beautiful,
modest, and so on. Marie de France wrote her lais so they could be enjoyed by both men and women,
but she did explore the gender inequalities that existed in her time and still exist today!
This source compares to another one I have mentioned. Both Amber Robertson and Elizabeth
Robertson reference Greek philosophy and the view that women were considered inferior because of
the bodies they exist in. The male form was the finer one, women s bodies ... Show more content on

Crime In 16th Century England
Sixteenth century England was a time of laws and religion. Both relied heavily on each other. As the
churches grew and Queen Elizabeth came into power, laws were often made to specifically protect the
church. Crimes such as blasphemy and treason could be punishable by death or torture. Treason is the
crime of trying to betray a country, usually by trying to overthrow the current state of the government
or other systems, such as the power of the church. This is a crime that no one was exempt from. Many
priests and even Queen Elizabeth had been sent to the Tower of London. Elizabeth I was pardoned,
others however could be tortured for months or be ordered to be executed. Blasphemy is the act of
talking sacrilegiously about the beliefs of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The lower class citizens of England resorted to stealing for what they needed to survive, and if they
were caught the punishment was rarely enjoyable. Usually a person caught stealing would have a hand
cut off. The Band of Thieves was a large group of men and women taking from whoever they could,
members that were caught were often tortured and publicly humiliated. Beggars were considered the
rats of people. They dressed in the most ragged clothes and begged a passerby for money. If caught he
or she would be beaten and driven out of the city, usually ordered to never return.
There were even laws against cutting down certain trees; the crime was punishable by death. Trees
such as the Ash Tree, Dogwood, and others with a religious background or significant use, the crime
would be considered as a form of blasphemy in some cases.
The courts and trials were usually public spectacles. Judgment was typically in favor of the persecutor,
meaning there were a lot of guilty citizens. Anyone accused were taken to court and tried. Usually
there was a judge, jury, and a number of citizens watching the events unroll. There were three main
kinds of court cases; Criminal, Religious, and the Star

The Pros Of The Viet Cong The Vietnamese had a large advantage during the War because the civilians helped fight, the jungle came with many dangers and helped with guerrilla warfare, and the Vietnamese knew the land and tunnels. No war is easy for those who fight it and each conflict brings its own challenges (Llewellyn). The Viet Cong were successful fighters because they were used to fighting countries to stay communist. This allowed them to develop many tactics. The American mission was to secure South Vietnam, gain trust and loyalty of the citizens, and eradicate the Viet Cong. • 4. Parents Whose Child Died From A Drug Overdose Introduction Parents whose child died from a drug overdose not only are grieving the loss of their child, they are also susceptible to mental health issues, and may experience a greater amount of grief (Feigelman et al., 2011). In part because drug related deaths tend to be viewed as unfavorable, with the parents often being blamed (Feigelman et al., 2011) (Guy, 2004) (da Silva, Noto, Formigoni, 2007). Furthermore, parents experience feelings of guilt for not interceding, and preventing the death of their child (Feigelman et al., 2011) (Guy, 2004) (da Silva, Noto, Formigoni, 2007). Moreover, due to the social and physical effects felt after the loss of a child, parents need additional support to potentially avert any negative effects (Aho et al., 2014) ) (Arnold Gemma, 2008; Hogan Schmitt, 2002; Kreicbergs, Lannen, Onelov, Wolfe, 2007; Murphy, Johnson, Cain, Das Gupta, Dimond Lohan, 1998; White, Walker, Richards, 2008). Description of program The proposal of this project is to offer a service to parents grieving the loss of their child, with emphasis on children who passed away as the result of a drug overdose. This program would provide a group therapy type of counseling for parents searching for help. Research has indicated that social support is effective in the grief process (Aho et al., 2014) (Arnold Gemma, 2008; Hogan Schmitt, 2002; Kreicbergs, Lannen, Onelov, Wolfe, 2007; Murphy, Johnson, Cain, Das Gupta, Dimond Lohan, 1998; White, ... • 7. Pay It Forward Reflection A young boy in social studies class is given an assignment, along with the rest of the students, to come up with an idea that could change the world. As well as coming up with an idea, the students also have to put it into action. Trevor McKinney (Haley Joel Osment) does not know nor understand how a kid his age can change the world. When he is riding his bike home from school, he passes up a site where a group of homeless people live, and the idea of how he can change the world comes to him. He figures that if he helps one person, then that person can help three, and so on. This begins his plan to Pay it Forward. The movie Pay It Forward (based on a novel by Catherine Ryan Hide) is directed by Mimi Leder at Warner Brothers Studio. It was released in the year 2000, being a PG 13 drama. Starring in this movie is Kevin Spacey (Eugene Simonet), Helen Hunt (Arlene McKinney), Haley Joel Osment (Trevor McKinney), Jon Bon Jovi (Arlene s husband), and Angie Dickinson (Arlene s mother). The main idea of the movie is for a class of kids to come up with a way to change the world and do it not just talk about it. The project does not go exactly as Trevor plans it, but it comes out bigger than he could have imagined. The acting portrayed in this movie by Haley Joel Osment as the young Trevor McKinney is excellent. Trevor McKinney is a kid that is wise beyond his years and very courageous. • 8. Why I Am Legend Archetypes I Am Legend In today s media, we see the Last Man on Earth classic archetype in novels and movies. They are depicted as brave beyond words and can conquer anything in their path. Sure, they hit a few bumps in the road during their conquest, but it always works out in the end. The protagonist shows unbelievable strength in perseverance during his journey. Typically in this archetype, the Last Man is striving to discover something that may bring mankind back. For Robert Neville, this is not the case. In the novel, I Am Legend Robert Neville is a failed Last Man on Earth archetype. He does not have the bravery to continue on throughout his conquest and continuously proves himself to be weak. He attempts to do his best to be this archetype, but it isn t who he is. In the novel, I am legend, Neville becomes a monster in the world that he lives in and many of the vampires are afraid of him, he s the killer that comes out during the day and only wants to kill them. I was inspired, however, by his paintings and knew of him through those as well. I chose to recreate one of Ewing Paddock s paintings from the London Underground series. I was inspired by his works because each of them are unique and diverse. Paddock s paintings also interested me because they were all recently painted. He started the London Underground series in 2009 and it took him three years to complete 25 canvases, painting around 70 people. • 15. Ambition In Julius Caesar The nature of the human mind is that if one doesn t like something, fix it. That statement applies to everyday life, in finances, career choices, and relationships. The delicate relationship between a ruler and his people balances on thin ice; be a leader and take charge, take the glory and power given and run. Do not, however, exploit this glory and power to the point of upsetting the people. Julius Caesar, like many rulers before and after him, worked tirelessly to strike this balance. However, his assassination proved that those attempts were futile. Caesar was murdered by his own people, and furthermore, his friends, for reasons really unknown to history. However, through pieces written sometimes years later by others, historians are able ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Cicero in his piece Roman History says, Behold, here you have a man who was ambitious to be kind of the Roman People and master of the whole world; and he achieved it! The man who maintains that such an ambition is morally right is a madman; for he justifies the destruction of law and liberty and thinks their hideous and detestable suppression glorious. Cicero here is simply explaining that the power Caesar holds, and his wish to have power over everybody, is morally incorrect. His ways of handling the law and ruling makes him a madman for all he has done. He is inserting the idea here that Caesar s assassins had in mind this hunger for power Caesar held as a possible reason for his demise. Once faced with the powers of a ruler, he is simply after more, leading him to argue that something about that want of power is not right of a man. This argument is again attempted to be explained by Nicolaus of Damascus in Life of Augustsus. In this, Nicolaus touches on many points of possible contention, including the search for power Caesar had. He did not share his glory with others who deserved it, taking all of the power that resulted for himself. Nicolaus eloquently ties up his point in the statement, When he became exalted through many notable victories (which was fair enough) and began to think himself superhuman the common people worshipped him, but he began to be obnoxious to the optimates and to those who were trying to obtain a share in the government. The point is made here that as Caesar grew in the ranks ad gained more power of the people, he became less inclined to share this power with those attempting to also move up in government. Once given a good deal of power, Caesar let that get to his head and affect how he lead his people, as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The problem with this is the media has a specific way of doing things and can be negative to a susceptible teenage girl. Mass media can have an adverse effect teenage girls by showing body types that are unrealistic as the normal and desirable type of body to have. Young women look to the mass media to see the societal norms for beauty, and what they see can influence the way that they view themselves. By portraying women who possess a body type that is uncommon, it shows teenage girls that they need to change themselves to reflect the images they are shown. Portraying body types that emphasize thinness and exaggerated features, the mass media try to establish what is socially acceptable. Teenage girls who see this message feel pressured to become what they see, often not realizing that the body types portrayed in media are unrealistic. One reason mass media is so effective at portraying unrealistic body types as normal is because the mass media helps to set what is perceived as normal. Stevens sacrifices all normal human encounters with those around him in order to be an emotionless person. When one encounters them, one simply knows one is in the presence of greatness (44). Stevens, through many trials, proves himself to be a great butler. Stevens possesses the emotional restraint which only the English race are capable of (43). When his father takes ill ... Mr. Stevens acts as though he is more interested in returning to his work when really he is dying to know. Miss Kenton does all she can to get Stevens to show some sort of emotion, but she always fails. She even tries to anger him by telling him that she and her acquaintance often pass the time amusing [themselves] with anecdotes about [him] (219). He just brushes her comments off and goes about his business. Stevens fixation with being a great butler instigates his lack of personality and social skills. He has pushed his feelings deep within himself for so many years that he does not know how to act naturally around people. When his employer, Mr. Faraday, suggests Stevens taking a road trip one day, Mr. Stevens spends the next few weeks trying to think of a way to bring up the topic again: It nevertheless made sense not to broach the topic when he was preoccupied or distracted. A refusal in such circumstances may well not reflect my employer s true feelings on the matter... I had to choose my moment wisely. (12) Stevens does not know how to deal with people naturally. He has to plan a conversation and responses to his employer so that he appears at ease, when really he is extremely nervous. Stevens, who always has his guard up, is not capable of ... The psychosis can be hallucinations, delusions, or some other break from reality. (Goldberg, 2014, August 21) The diagnosis can be diagnosed by a doctor like all other types of depression. • 34. The Other Side Of The River By Alex Kotlowitz Tiefenbach 1 Benjamin Tiefenbach Professor Ned Watts IAH 207 17 March 2015 Twin Cities, Twin Races Reading the book, The Other Side of the River, by Alex Kotlowitz, the author writes about the relationship between two towns in Michigan, and the death of a young boy named Eric McGinnis. The two towns, Benton Harbor and St. Joseph, are called the Twin Cities , but are ironically not related in any way. St. Joseph is 95 percent white, while Benton Harbor is impoverished and is 92 percent black. Throughout the book Kotlowitz questions the residents from both towns and how they are affected by the environment around them. The author also starts with the climax on the first page of the book the death of Eric, and uses this as an technique to tell the story of the disagreements between the two towns. With the murder of Eric, Kotlowitz identifies the climax at the beginning of the book and how it has been affecting the two towns which are physically only two and a half miles apart, and the river that flows between them only being a quarter of a mile wide. St. Joseph is a rich area while Benton Harbor is in poverty. This is relevant to the state of Michigan because many bodies of people migrate to certain regions of the state and are easily divided by different cultures and beliefs. Even with a small river providing the gap between these two regions, Michigan is known for its divided groups of people. With this division, the death of Eric with his drowning in the river resided ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. Aegis Amber Robertson Summary Robertson, Amber. Women s Agency as Represented in Various Works of Medieval Literature. Aegis: Otterbein Humanities Journal, vol. 10, 2005. Robertson discusses the representation of women in the Lais of de France and how they were constructed around the feudal society and were meant to represent the female agency. Robertson goes on to explain the feudal society and how it is a social ladder where everyone gets their opinions from who is on the very top this being the Church and the aristocracy (Robertson 68). Robertson makes the point that these are two facets that are least acquainted with women. Robertson notes that medieval people also elevated the status of women at the same time as decimating it. Women ladies were compared to the Virgin Mary, who represents all things a woman should be: chaste, delicate, beautiful, modest, and so on. Marie de France wrote her lais so they could be enjoyed by both men and women, but she did explore the gender inequalities that existed in her time and still exist today! This source compares to another one I have mentioned. Both Amber Robertson and Elizabeth Robertson reference Greek philosophy and the view that women were considered inferior because of the bodies they exist in. The male form was the finer one, women s bodies ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
