Different Types Of Nerve Cells
Nerve Cells
Nerve cells are crucial to all living organisms because they serve as a messenger in the different parts
of the body. There are three different types of nerve cells (neurons) sensory neurons, motor neurons,
and association neurons. All three of these types come together in order to allow the body to function
properly. Without neurons the body wouldn t have the ability to know when there is illumination or
warmth in or outside the body, know how to perform functions in the other parts of the body (such as
muscles),or have these two things work together to know what the other is doing.
Sensory neurons have importance because they allow your body to have the five physical senses,
(smell,touch,taste,sight,and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One important sensory neuron that everyone is very familiar with is tastebuds. Tastebuds are
extremely sensitive neurons that have a built in pH detector. That is why the more acidic something is
the more sour it taste and when sodium ions increase this is what makes food have a salty taste.
Sensory neurons are crucial to the body for maintaining homeostasis by providing organisms with
skills that we need.
The second kind of neuron that is also very important to organisms is motor neurons. Motor neurons
are responsible for the movement of organisms. If our body didn t form motor neurons we wouldn t
have the ability to talk, eat, life, drink, walk, and any other kind of simple movements. According to
Daniel Liden, a freelance journalist, motor neurons directly or indirectly controls the contraction or
relaxation of muscles (Liden, para 1.) Motor neurons are also sometimes referred to as efferent
neurons. Motor neurons bring information made by the central nervous system to the different muscles
in the body. There are three different kinds of motor neurons. The three different kinds are somatic,
specific visceral, and general visceral. Somatic motor neurons are used for forming skeletal muscles
and movement in the body. Specific visceral motor neurons are important in vertebrates for the
movement of neck muscles and facial muscles. Specific visceral neurons are important to sea animals
for the movement of gills. The last kind of motor neurons, general visceral, are

The ERS predicts that between 2000 and 2020, per capita spending could rise by 18 percent at full
service restaurants, versus about 6 percent for fast food. The ERS suggests that, while consumers
value convenience, there is a trend toward meals with more variety and amenities traditionally
associated with full service restaurants.
In considering options for consumers to have full service restaurant comforts without having to shop,
cook, and then clean up after meal preparation, use of personal chef services stands out. The trend
toward spending on full service restaurants provides a growing opportunity for a full service meal

article, the personal chef business is among the fastest growing in the country and one of the top six
home businesses to start in 2004. In the referenced article by Paul and Sarah Edwards, they assert that

The Scientific Revolution Essay
During the Scientific Revolution scientists such as Galileo, Copernicus, Descartes and Bacon wrestled
with questions about God, human aptitude, and the possibilities of understanding the world.
Eventually, the implications of the new scientific findings began to affect the way people thought and
behaved throughout Europe. Society began to question the authority of traditional knowledge about
the universe. This in turn, allowed them to question traditional views of the state and social order. No
longer was the world constructed as the somewhat simple Ptolemaic Model suggested. The Earth for
the first time became explicable and was no longer the center of the universe. Many beliefs that had
been held for hundreds of years now proved to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The statement acts to justify his finding with the church and connect them to God. Copernicus realized
that the church would be quick to judge him, and possibly this is why he didn t publish his theories
until late in his life. His discoveries were not so much as important as were his methods of observation
and application of mathematics to explain the world. His methods of discovery helped model the
direction of science over the next hundred years.
Another important figure in the Scientific Revolution was Galileo Galilei. He was an Italian born
professor of mathematics who had a great interest in the workings of the universe. Galileo served as a
professor at the University of Padua, and it was during this time that he began to question the accuracy
of the Churches representation of the world. Galileo s approach towards knowledge was much
different then the afore mentioned Copernicus. Where as Copernicus presented his finding to the
mercy of the church, Galileo wrote his conclusions and left the Roman Catholic Church interpret them
as they chose. The very nature of his findings pitted him as an opponent of the church.
The Earth was not the center of the universe. Galileo had seen far into the heavens with the telescope
he had designed and created an even more accurate mold of the universe. He trumpeted his views
everywhere, and condemned anyone who

The Life Of Stephen Hawking Essay
The Life of Stephen Hawking
Stephen Hawking. A bright student, a brilliant physicist, a brave man. The life of Hawking is full of
ups and downs, peaks and valleys, enlightened intelligence, and devastating disabilities. (I m still
working on this bit) Stephen Hawking was born on January 8, 1942 in Oxford, England. His parents
Frank and Isobel Hawking resided in London, though because World War II was in full swing at this
point, they decided along with many others, that it would be safer to raise a family in Oxford. Both of
his parents were well educated, had a hunger for travel, and were involved in political activism. They

One of the most prominent concerns regarding the industrial waste from the Love Canal was the risk

In the past 20 years the United States along with the world have entered a period referred to as New
Terrorism (Kurtulus, 2011). This new type of terrorism is generally indiscriminate, networked, based
off religious ideologies, and committed by individuals and factions with little to no organizational
structure (Kurtulus, 2011). The problem with the individuals who commit this new type of terrorism is
that they are generally indiscriminate and do not necessarily have a selected target. The victims of
these attacks are generally thrown into disarray with little to no explanation on why they occurred.
International terrorism or terrorism that occurs outside the United States, but in turn affects the U.S.

Chipping Vs Pitching
Chipping
There are some newer Golfers who confuse chipping and pitching . The difference is that chipping is
more similar to putting. A chipping swing is more restricted to just the shoulders and arms. Your body
remains still.
What makes a good chip shot is a proper setup and swing. Whenever you set up to make a chip shot
you need to use an open stance . Keep your feet and hips opened slightly toward your target. It s
natural for this stance to feel a bit odd at first. However, it s necessary for giving your arms the room
they need to swing through your target. When you make a chip shot and use a square stance, your
wrists are at risk of unhinging.

the club. Your ball is usually played off your left foot but can be adjusted as needed.
Whenever you re ready to take your swing, bring the club back as far as necessary to hit your ball. To
have a successful down swing you ll have to accelerate your club head while making contact with
your ball.
Be sure your club enters the sand at least 1 or maybe 2 inches behind your ball. Allow your club to do
all the work while it enters the sand. Avoid trying to scoop your ball upward and out.
A crucial element of all sand shots is to accelerate through impact . This is especially true when the
sand is wet or packed tightly. The acceleration will be the one single thing keeping the club head from
stopping as it impacts its way through the sand.
A sand shot follow through has to be full as well as smooth without any sudden stops. Keep the head

Why I Want To Pursue A Juris Doctor Degree
Growing up in a provincial Russian town with its small population, unique spirit and picturesque
winding rivers, I yearned to learn and dreamed of foreign places where I could flourish. When I was a
child, my parents worked long hours while I engulfed myself in American movies and dreamed of the
possibilities that lay ahead. These movies showed me the freedom and opportunities that people of the
United States had. I dedicated myself to become proficient in English, I rented movies with subtitles
and signed up for a distant learning. Back then computers were not widely available and I anxiously
awaited my correspondence by mail. I frequently visited the post office to check if a letter with my

interest of mine but it became more apparent when I had the fortune of meeting a brilliant attorney

lives. His generosity with pro bono services that defend the unprivileged community fascinated me.
My first time in a court room was watching him defending a young individual who was falsely
accused of absconding because a probation officer went to a wrong door. While being in detention his
mother passed away and he was not granted a furlough. The injustice I witnessed only furthered my
resolve to become an attorney. Sadly, my friend passed away recently but his actions inspired me to
advance more quickly to my goal. After researching multiple law schools, the faculty, resources,
clinics, and externships at Barry University School of Law fit best my educational needs. My plan
after law school is to focus on public interest and become an advocate for those whose voices are not
heard. I know that my determination and passion for the law will be an indispensable value to

What is PAYE?
PAYE or Pay As You Earn is the system of collecting tax or pension within a tax year, which starts on
6 April of the present year and ends on 5 April the next year.
Three parties are involved in the entire process you, your employer and HMRC. If there are
discrepancies in your tax code or the tax deduction itself, you can complain to either your employer or
HMRC.
The frequency with which tax is deducted depends on how often you will get paid, whether it s weekly
or monthly. Some pensions, however, are only taxed every quarter of a year or once a year.
How does PAYE work?
HMRC will be responsible for calculating your tax code and then providing it to your employer. When
required, the agency will send you a PAYE coding notice that shows how your code number was
worked out. If you didn t receive any, you can ask one from HMRC.
Based on the tax code, your employer will then calculate how much tax will be deducted from your
pay or pension. Whatever deductions made will then be paid over to

Organizational Functions And Employee Relations During The...
Since the turn of the 19th century, there has been a dramatic overhaul of administrative practices.
Through trial and error, organizations have altered their management practices in pursuit of better
results. These changes in administrative theory can be sorted into five different themes. This includes
organization functions, employee relations, open systems, social equity, and client oriented
(Cronkhite, 2012). Each theme provides a unique perspective on how to run a successful agency. The
purpose of this paper will be focusing on the themes of organization functions and employee relations
during the industrial era.
Before discussing the administrative theories, it is important to understand the historical context
behind these theories. The industrial era is the time period from the 1880s to the 1950s, which
represents the aftermath of the industrial revolution (Cronkhite, 2012). The industrial revolution is
often revered for its significant advancements in technology and manufacturing. There was a striking
shift in focus from agricultural goods to manufactured goods in factory settings (Harley, 2003). This
influenced a mass migration of the population from rural areas to bustling cities (Harley, 2003).

The Characteristics Of Adaptation In Honey Bees
Introduction Adaptation is an evolutionary process in which the organism (or species) adapts itself to
external conditions and other factors that are in the area of its occurrence. Thanks to the adaptation
enabled by natural selection, there are useful (but not purposeful) properties. Thus, biological
evolution differs greatly from other forms of evolution. Natural selection is able to choose from those
randomly generated mutations those that are convenient and useful. Adaptation is often thought of as
adopting new evolutionary strategies and passing through genetic mutations into new forms. Honey
Bees are flying insects who live on nectar and pollen. According to Honeybee center (n.d.); Bees have
a long, straw like tongue called a probiscus that allows them to drink the nectar form deep within
blossoms (para. 2). Hummingbirds are visually distinct in size, the smallest representative of the
whole family, the smallest calypte, is also the smallest bird of the world, the largest representative is
the big hummingbird. Mostly they are strikingly colored, slender birds with small limbs. With the
exception of insects, hummingbirds have the fastest metabolism of all animal species. The reason is
especially fast and very heavy wearing of wings for the body. They live mainly in the nectar of plants,
which is helped by their long beak, which is often different in different species and specialized for a
certain kind of flower. In food, it completely rejects nectar with a lower

became unpleasant to live. Ann stories mention on the moving of six different houses over a six year

A Report On Flight Training
Abstract
Flight Training Devices or commonly known as simulators, are frequently used in military aviator
training and is an important training tool for safely teaching flying skills in a controlled environment
that is normally too dangerous, or costly to acquire through the use of an actual aircraft. The U.S. Air
Force and Army typically use simulators to safely train new Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV)
operators on critical tasks performed for proficiency and certification without the use of costly flyable
aviation resources. Research has discovered there is a lack of conventional standardized training for
any of the armed services, but an inter service roadmap is planned for combining future training
programs. The researcher will analyze multiple military and civilian aeronautical based articles on the
subjects of simulator use for operator training including Army and Air Force future requirements for
UAVs, and applicable Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations. Findings will be clear
regarding the need for cost saving initiatives and standardized UAV training, including the
implications of new FAA regulations. Research will also delve into the fact that inconsistent operator
training is a problem for incorporating different types of Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) into the
National Airspace (NAS). It is also determined that future military training will be affected by FAA
research and findings on this subject. Finally, the results will reveal the need for

When it comes to political issues people often think, whether someone is a Republican or Democrat,
that politicians have to back their parties legislation no matter what, and that politicians despise each
other if someone is not of the same party affiliation as them. In some cases this could be true;
however, everything is not always black and white, and there are a lot of gray areas when it comes to
some issues. With certain matters, Republicans and Democrats can lay their differences aside and
come together for a cause; human sex trafficking just so happens to be one of those concerns. Along
with multiple other pieces of bipartisan legislation that has been introduced in the past, one that was
introduced as recently ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Polaris Project, who is one of the nation s leading organizations for spreading awareness and working
towards putting an end to human sex trafficking, gives a great look into what some potential red flags
can be. Some of the warning signs can include, a person under the age of 18 (but possibly older)
performing sex acts for a pimp or manager. Another sign could be a person who is full of constant fear
and anxiety, avoiding eye contact and not being free to leave and do things that they want. If someone
shows signs of sexual abuse or torture, these are signs that they need help. These are just a few of the
many warning signs and red flags that could potentially show that someone is a victim of human sex
trafficking. This can no longer be ignored. There are resources available for past and present victims
and it is time that they get the help they deserve. It is time to be their

The Youth Justice And Other Legislation Act 2014
In 2014, the Government initiated the Youth Justice and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2014. This
act introduced new changes that were made to provide fair outcomes and reasonable punishments.
This assignment will focus on four of the changes made to the act and evaluate how the introduction
of the Youth Justice and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2014 has impacted on consequences for
youth in the youth justice system. Recommendations for changes the government could make will also
be stated.
Part 4 Division 2 of the Children s Court Act 2000 states that the Childrens Court will now be an open

(Queensland Law Society 2014). This quote shows that, even after going to court once, children will
repeat offences and opening the Childrens Court will not help the rehabilitation of these repeat
offenders. However, the public is let in to see the cases and will learn about the court processes,
providing a better understanding, and if the case is of a sexual nature, the victim will feel much more
comfortable with the court being closed, and will be able to easily tell the complete truth.
The Youth Justice and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2014 gives the media the authorisation to
publish identifying information of a repeat offender at any stage during a court proceeding.
(Department of Justice and Attorney General, 2014). A first time offender is anyone who has not been
found guilty, at any time throughout a proceeding. First time offenders being named publicly remains
prohibited by section 301. (Department of Justice and Attorney General, 2014). However, Ian Brown,
President of The Queensland Law Society, states that he strongly believes that publicly naming a child
coming before the courts should be prohibited. He believes letting the media broadcast classified
information of repeat offenders could become a major difficulty in terms of getting the repeat offender

AI Essay
As I was listening to Harris speech, I noticed that a lot of what he had to say matched my latest
thoughts about AI. Harris mentioned that the most worrisome thing about the development of AI at
this point is that people seem unable to arrange an appropriate response to the dangers that may come
from AI. I agree with Harris because I have noticed that when I have a conversation about AI with
someone, most people don t know much about it to gather and create an emotional response to it, and
the people that do know some information about AI seem to not really feel threatened by it. I think
that most people believe that AI is so far fetched and will probably never reach a level of intelligence

I agreed with a few things that Ronson shared in his speech, I agree that a lot of people on social
media have the mentality that when a powerful person misuses their privilege, they are prepared to
attack. It is like if people are trying to keep others in their place from doing what they consider to be
wrongful. I feel as if people like to attack others when they make a subtle mistake in organizing words
that best express their thought or in the case that Ronson focused on when someone doesn t
understand one s humor and decides to exploit them. But why? Well, my theory is that people like to
feel powerful and we also like to feel like we are doing something good for the vast majority.
However, how we decide to protect others seems kind of brutal. In social media, one has to be careful
with what one decides to share because it can be so easily be misinterpreted. A misinterpretation can
lead straight to online shaming. People with like views will begin to gather to protect the people that
they believe are being attacked in an inappropriate way. And the way people decide to protect others is
very mean. I don t think they really understand the power of what they have to say especially when a
huge group gathers with alike opinions. Ronson shared a case of a woman who decided to

Judaism s Views On Religion
In order to continue to be viable within society, the beliefs and practices of a religious tradition must
remain dynamic.
Due to society s current changing attitudes, Judaism needs to modify its beliefs and practices to in
order to remain viable and significant to its followers, as well as the rest of the world. By remaining
dynamic, Judaism is able to appeal to individuals by guiding them on beliefs, ethics and laws of the
religious tradition while still remaining relevant to current society. Despite these changes to maintain
its relevance, the true essence of Judaism is still preserved.
Some variants of Judaism such as the Orthodoxy are not very enthusiastic about this statement and
don t essentially agree with it. On the other hand, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The variants allow men and women to sit together during the service. As well as having male rabbis,
Progressive and Conservative also allow and encourage women to become rabbis, therefore women
are able to lead synagogue services. They believe males and females to be equally important in
matters of the church. This belief is also reflected in the prayer book of Progressive Judaism which
has replaced masculine names for God such as King and Lord for Eternal One and Sovereign etc., so
that there is no type of gender inclusive language that would indicate prejudice, but instead promotes
the notion of equality.
Modern Society s current vernacular language is English, contrariwise, the Orthodox synagogue
service is preached entirely in Hebrew by the Rabbi with his delivery facing away from the
congregation. This completely ignores modern society s views on what the vernacular language is or
should be.
In Progressive Judaism however, the rabbi preaches the sermon according to the language of the
people, which is most cases is English, while delivering his sermon towards the congregation. The
Progressive Service caters more for the people, as more individuals are able to equally participate in
all aspects of the Synagogue service as they are able to understand what is being thought.
Conservative Judaism believes in following the traditional value of teaching in Hebrew for they regard
the language as irreplaceable and utterly important to Judaism. With this being said

Essay on Abraham Lincoln
Abraham Lincoln There have been forty four U.S. presidents over the past two hundred and twenty
years. What president has served the best for our country? None other than Abraham Lincoln.
Abraham Lincoln is the greatest president ever because he did great things such as ending slavery,
getting the us through the Civil War, and helped our country a lot. The American Civil War was a war
between the Southern states and the Confederate states. Abraham Lincoln was not very prepared for
the war militarily, but he knew about war. His time in office was peaceful for about a month and he

freedom , that would in the end bring peace and equality among U.S citizens. Another achievement
accomplished by the great Abraham Lincoln was the Thirteenth Amendment. The Thirteenth
Amendment was passed in 1864 and officially ended slavery. The Emancipation Proclamation freed
all African American slaves and only ended slavery in the ten confederate states. The passing of the
Thirteenth Amendment abolished slavery in the states that rebelled the proclamation. The Thirteenth

Review Of Jon Meacham And The Failure Of American Higher...
It is not what a person says that is important, but instead how they say it. By changing the tone or
audience of a work, the purpose can be completely altered. Two articles can have identical
information, yet when a different tone is formed between the two, their purposes drastically change.
The article What Colleges Will Teach in 2025 by Jon Meacham and The Failure of American Higher
Education by Robert Atkinson both contain a topic that is similar on many levels. That being said,
each article has an entirely different tone and audience, effectively skewing the similarity between
their purposes. While Atkinson created a sound argument, his choice of tone and use of audience were
far less effective than Meacham s. To better understand the writing of an author, it is important to see
where they are coming from. Both Meacham and Atkinson are professionals who have a lot of
knowledge on their topic. Atkinson is the founder of a well known think tank, along with having an
extensive background in economics. Being an employer, Atkinson has personal experience with the
hiring process. On the other side of the spectrum, Meacham has a prodigious knowledge of American
history. He is both a best selling author and a fellow of the Society of American Historians. This,
along with being a former trustee of the University of the South give Meacham an air of expertise on
the topic of his article. Meacham s audience is specific, aiming to pinpoint the problem and resolve it.

Transgressions In Mervyn Leroy s The Bad Seed
While the conclusion tacked onto the end of The Bad Seed didn t manage to change some of the less
obvious themes in Mervyn LeRoy s 1956 film, the new ending put in place by conservative lobby
groups affects the portrayal of transgressions from societal standards and taboos. The dramatic
difference in the ending gives the film a strong message that transgressions can only be righted
through an act of god. The fact that Rhoda is transgressive is still undeniably a part of the film. In fact,
Rhoda could even be considered twice as transgressive: she is both a murderer and a child murderer,
two separate taboos (Hendershot, p. 28). Further still, the fact that Rhoda does not deviate into any
other major taboos at any point during the film a stark

Why Do Muscles Burn Fat
Muscles burn fat. The more muscle, the more fat they burn. Stimulating the growth of muscle mass,
squats help burn more fat. The more muscle you build up at its skeleton, the more calories you will

were considered squats for well trained athletes and professional bodybuilders, today people are no
longer afraid to perform prisedy, estimating all advantages of this exercise. There are plenty of ways to
prevent injuries at run time, and the merits of the squat exercises cannot be overestimated.

How Fragmentation Will Impact On Ecosystem Function
Introduction
Following the advance of civilization, large forests are completely degraded, eliminated and converted
to other types of land use on all continents. However, small pieces of forest are left on areas that are of
little use owning to their adverse topography or poor drainage, or other reasons. When discussing the
human impact on forests (Ledig 1992). Ledig and Kitzmiller (1992) listed fragmentation of forest as
next in line after complete destruction degradation and loss of genetic diversity in forest area. Defined
as an unbroken expanse of primary forest greater than 500 km2 without significant human activity,
intact forest landscapes comprise only 29.9% of the world s remaining tropical forests (Gibson et al.,
2011). This surviving fraction is rapidly being broken up and fragmented (Wright, 2005). This raises
the urgent question of how fragmentation will impact on ecosystem function, the essential set of
processes which maintain tropical forest ecosystems (Laurance et al., 2011).Ecosystem function can
be defined as the processes that collectively contribute to the self maintenance of an ecosystem
Owning to the species richness of genetic diversity particularly of tropical rain forest with a high
proportion of endemics (Vianaet al. 1997), the number of species being strongly affected or becoming
vulnerable and extinct is larger than in other biomes. Owning to local rarity or pronounced clumping
of species occurrence, many species may be missing from any

Return Of Martin Guerre Analysis
Throughout the book of The Return of Martin Guerre, Davis makes several claims and accusation
against Bertrande that she clearly cannot back up with history facts. Her assumption that Bertrande
knew that Arnaud du Tilh was not her husband the entire time and that either by explicit or trait
agreement, she helped him become her husband (Davis, 44) cannot be proved with historical content.
Davis hypotheses is based off of her invention, which is a product of her assertions and reasoning of
her perception based off of her research. Although her perception is plausible, there is no hard
evidence to back up her claim. Finlay s response to Davis book clearly addresses several concerns he
finds with Davis invention. Finlay signifies his perception of Davis s book by claiming that she ...

Davis depend on Coras s account, which remains the best source for the story of Martin Guerre

William Carlos Williams Doctor Stories Essay
William Carlos Williams passion and dedication of medicine can be seen through his literary
contributions of short stories and poems. The Doctor Stories use interior monologue in a stream of
consciousness as a tool to reflect each narrator s experience and gives insight into the character and his
appraisal of each of the situations encountered. It is through this stream of consciousness that we come
to realize the observational nature of this doctor s actions and thoughts.
In the story A Night in June, Williams details a feeling of restlessness when a child needs to be

(pg. 44) The author shows similarities between the narrator and his more skeptical colleague in an
attempt to highlight the narrator s thoughts. His thoughts show that his caustic colleague is very
critical in describing the immigrant mother as a bugger and the daughter as a pimply faced bitch . (pg.
55) The story then ends with a sense of hope for the young girl as she returns to school. From the
beginning of The Use of Force, the doctor goes in to great detail about the patience it takes as he tries
to coax the young girl to open her mouth. When he realizes the futility of his approach, he gives the
child an ultimatum of Will you open it now by yourself or shall we have to open it for you? which is
shown as he steels himself for the upcoming battle. (pg. 58) It is obvious that this doctor is committed
to helping the uncooperative child, and his thoughts portray his determination that is untainted by a
fear of hurting the girl in order to help her. This is in contrast to the obvious observance of the child s
parents that fear hurting her which impedes the ability to heal her. It is probably a typical portrayal of
parents that are so emotional and soft hearted that the doctor sees regularly, but contrasts the assertive
actions of the doctor which leads the reader to realize that doing what is best for someone is not

Common Themes In The House Of The Scorpions
In the novel House of the Scorpions by Nancy Farmer, the memoir, Where Am I Wearing by Kelsey
Timmerman, and the short story The Scholarship Jacket by Martha Salinas, the common theme is that
a person is always a person, no matter their wealth, their skin color, or even their birth circumstances.
In the House of the Scorpions, an instance that shows this is when Matt finally listens to what all of
his friends have been telling him, about how he is not inferior to them. Another example that
accentuates the theme from Where Am I Wearing is where the reader learns about the terrible
conditions Bangladeshi workers have to suffer through. A final example of the theme in The
Scholarship Jacket is when Martha is denied the jacket because she s poor and Mexican. A common
theme similarly found in The House of the Scorpions by Nancy Farmer, The Scholarship Jacket by
Martha Salinas, and Where Am I Wearing by Kelsey Timmerman is that everyone is human, no matter
their financial status, ethnicity, not to mention circumstances of birth, and all deserve to be treated the
same. In the novel, The House of the Scorpions, an example of how the theme is aptly portrayed is
when Matt understands that he is not inferior to other humans because he is a clone. A quote from this
moment states, Matt had to swallow hard to keep the tears from rolling down his face. He wasn t alone
after all. With friends like these, he would triumph, as El Patron had triumphed over death and poverty

Similarities Between Annabel Lee And The Masque Of The Red...
The story Masque of The Red Death and Annabel Lee by Edgar Allan Poe are very high quality and
Mischievous books. Throughout each page both stories had many connections regarding love, life, and
many emotional outlooks about life. Annabel Lee and Masque of Red death both implied that there isn

in the texts. Edgar Allan Poe expressed a series of connections between the two texts which gave each
text a large quantity of similarities which included Love, life, and casualty.
Edgar Allan Poe expresses love in a very vivid and creative style. Masque of The Red Death has a
very unique way of representing love for example, on page 393 Prince Prospero states When his
dominions were half depopulated he summoned to his presence a thousand hale and lighthearted
friends to his kingdom . Prospero s statement meant that the ones that shared similar qualities as him

Ebola was first discovered in 1976 at the Ebola River which is currently the Democratic Republic of

have taken place in Africa. People get Ebola through direct contact with bodily fluids (skin, eyes,
nose, or mouth). It is not airborne and can be transferred by infected fruit bats and bodily fluids. To
this day there s no cure, but treatments are being developed and researched. Ebola s symptoms are

The Purpose Of The Individual Mandate
The term individual mandate, as a component of the Affordable Care Act, is a mandatory requirement
according to which the majority of people in the United States has to have some kind of health
insurance. Most specifically, according to the fundamentals of this regulation, any individual who can
afford a health insurance policy, but chooses not to do so, will have to pay a fine. Prior to the existence
of the individual mandate, health insurance companies had the choice to reject people with health
conditions that would potentially incur high costs. Because of this reason, a significant number of
people did not have any health coverage. In order to maintain insurance premiums reasonably steady
and sustain government cost balanced, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The individual mandate, at this point, presents itself as the most cost effective and affordable way
through which reasonably priced coverages are available to the mass population. The bests advantage
of the individual mandate, according to Nick Tate, is that it prevents insurance companies from
rejecting people because they have a pre existing health condition. Under this provision, all Americans
benefit a coverage plan regardless of their health Status. When healthcare companies are legally
obligated to accept policy holders with any situation, every single American has the obligation to
enroll in a healthcare plan. Therefore, the dilemma of people trying avoid having such a plan
disappear as it become illegal to be living without any coverage.
Government Subsidies for the Lower Income Individuals
To make it easier for every American to enroll in a plan, the Federal government provides lower
income taxpayers who do not receive insurance from employers or other sources and do not qualify
for an exemption with a premium tax credit to subsidize the purchase of qualified health plans
purchased through an Exchange. Radically the individual mandate reflects the image of a program

There are three different types of nerve cells (neurons) sensory neurons, motor neurons, and association neurons. All three of these types come together in order to allow the body to function properly. Without neurons the body wouldn t have the ability to know when there is illumination or warmth in or outside the body, know how to perform functions in the other parts of the body (such as muscles),or have these two things work together to know what the other is doing. Sensory neurons have importance because they allow your body to have the five physical senses, (smell, touch, taste, sight, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One important sensory neuron that everyone is very familiar with is tastebuds. Tastebuds are extremely sensitive neurons that have a built in pH detector. That is why the more acidic something is the more sour it taste and when sodium ions increase this is what makes food have a salty taste. Sensory neurons are crucial to the body for maintaining homeostasis by providing organisms with skills that we need. The second kind of neuron that is also very important to organisms is motor neurons. Motor neurons are responsible for the movement of organisms. If our body didn t form motor neurons we wouldn t have the ability to talk, eat, life, drink, walk, and any other kind of simple movements. According to Daniel Liden, a freelance journalist, motor neurons directly or indirectly controls the contraction or relaxation of muscles (Liden, para 1.) Motor neurons are also sometimes referred to as efferent neurons. Motor neurons bring information made by the central nervous system to the different muscles in the body. There are three different kinds of motor neurons. The three different kinds are somatic, specific visceral, and general visceral. Somatic motor neurons are used for forming skeletal muscles and movement in the body. The Scientific Revolution Essay During the Scientific Revolution scientists such as Galileo, Copernicus, Descartes and Bacon wrestled with questions about God, human aptitude, and the possibilities of understanding the world. Eventually, the implications of the new scientific findings began to affect the way people thought and behaved throughout Europe. Society began to question the authority of traditional knowledge about the universe. This in turn, allowed them to question traditional views of the state and social order. No longer was the world constructed as the somewhat simple Ptolemaic Model suggested. The Earth for the first time became explicable and was no longer the center of the universe. Copernicus realized that the church would be quick to judge him, and possibly this is why he didn t publish his theories until late in his life. His discoveries were not so much as important as were his methods of observation and application of mathematics to explain the world. His methods of discovery helped model the direction of science over the next hundred years. Another important figure in the Scientific Revolution was Galileo Galilei. He was an Italian born professor of mathematics who had a great interest in the workings of the universe. Galileo served as a professor at the University of Padua, and it was during this time that he began to question the accuracy of the Churches representation of the world. • 29. How Fragmentation Will Impact On Ecosystem Function Introduction Following the advance of civilization, large forests are completely degraded, eliminated and converted to other types of land use on all continents. However, small pieces of forest are left on areas that are of little use owning to their adverse topography or poor drainage, or other reasons. When discussing the human impact on forests (Ledig 1992). Ledig and Kitzmiller (1992) listed fragmentation of forest as next in line after complete destruction degradation and loss of genetic diversity in forest area. Defined as an unbroken expanse of primary forest greater than 500 km2 without significant human activity, intact forest landscapes comprise only 29.9% of the world s remaining tropical forests (Gibson et al., 2011). This surviving fraction is rapidly being broken up and fragmented (Wright, 2005). This raises the urgent question of how fragmentation will impact on ecosystem function, the essential set of processes which maintain tropical forest ecosystems (Laurance et al., 2011).Ecosystem function can be defined as the processes that collectively contribute to the self maintenance of an ecosystem Owning to the species richness of genetic diversity particularly of tropical rain forest with a high proportion of endemics (Vianaet al. 1997), the number of species being strongly affected or becoming vulnerable and extinct is larger than in other biomes. • 32. Return Of Martin Guerre Analysis Throughout the book of The Return of Martin Guerre, Davis makes several claims and accusation against Bertrande that she clearly cannot back up with history facts. Her assumption that Bertrande knew that Arnaud du Tilh was not her husband the entire time and that either by explicit or trait agreement, she helped him become her husband (Davis, 44) cannot be proved with historical content. Davis hypotheses is based off of her invention, which is a product of her assertions and reasoning of her perception based off of her research. Although her perception is plausible, there is no hard evidence to back up her claim. Finlay s response to Davis book clearly addresses several concerns he finds with Davis invention. • 33. William Carlos Williams Doctor Stories Essay William Carlos Williams passion and dedication of medicine can be seen through his literary contributions of short stories and poems. The Doctor Stories use interior monologue in a stream of consciousness as a tool to reflect each narrator s experience and gives insight into the character and his appraisal of each of the situations encountered. It is through this stream of consciousness that we come to realize the observational nature of this doctor s actions and thoughts. In the story A Night in June, Williams details a feeling of restlessness when a child needs to be delivered without the aid of a nurse or an anesthetist while having limited tools to operate with. His thoughts portray a hope that some patients would be better off to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (pg. 44) The author shows similarities between the narrator and his more skeptical colleague in an attempt to highlight the narrator s thoughts. His thoughts show that his caustic colleague is very critical in describing the immigrant mother as a bugger and the daughter as a pimply faced bitch . (pg. 55) The story then ends with a sense of hope for the young girl as she returns to school. From the beginning of The Use of Force, the doctor goes in to great detail about the patience it takes as he tries to coax the young girl to open her mouth. When he realizes the futility of his approach, he gives the child an ultimatum of Will you open it now by yourself or shall we have to open it for you? which is shown as he steels himself for the upcoming battle. (pg. 58) It is obvious that this doctor is committed to helping the uncooperative child, and his thoughts portray his determination that is untainted by a fear of hurting the girl in order to help her. This is in contrast to the obvious observance of the child s parents that fear hurting her which impedes the ability to heal her. It is probably a typical portrayal of parents that are so emotional and soft hearted that the doctor sees regularly, but contrasts the assertive actions of the doctor which leads the reader to realize that doing what is best for someone is not synonymous to what ... • 34. Common Themes In The House Of The Scorpions In the novel House of the Scorpions by Nancy Farmer, the memoir, Where Am I Wearing by Kelsey Timmerman, and the short story The Scholarship Jacket by Martha Salinas, the common theme is that a person is always a person, no matter their wealth, their skin color, or even their birth circumstances. In the House of the Scorpions, an instance that shows this is when Matt finally listens to what all of his friends have been telling him, about how he is not inferior to them. Another example that accentuates the theme from Where Am I Wearing is where the reader learns about the terrible conditions Bangladeshi workers have to suffer through. A final example of the theme in The Scholarship Jacket is when Martha is denied the jacket because she s poor and Mexican. A common theme similarly found in The House of the Scorpions by Nancy Farmer, The Scholarship Jacket by Martha Salinas, and Where Am I Wearing by Kelsey Timmerman is that everyone is human, no matter their financial status, ethnicity, not to mention circumstances of birth, and all deserve to be treated the same. In the novel, The House of the Scorpions, an example of how the theme is aptly portrayed is when Matt understands that he is not inferior to other humans because he is a clone.
