Research Paper On The Goodwood Museum
The Goodwood museum is a plantation house from the 1830 s and had several different owners. It
features original furniture in the main house, none of what of it was brought in (all of it was found in
the house when it became a museum). Everything was original including paintings, furniture, and the
chandeliers. Outside of the main house, you can see a porch that was added during the early 1900 s.
The main house consisted of three stories, the bottom being for entertainment: the living room, office,
and dining room. These rooms featured beautiful furniture and painted ceilings (which were painted
by italian painters). There was a bookshelf that consisted of books from that time, one being a first
edition Edgar Allen Poe book. In the dining

Voluntourism In America
Voluntourism is a form of tourism, which travelers do voluntary work for a charity. Voluntourism,
which has become more popular in the recent past, started with good intentions of white westerners
spreading their knowledge and resources. Some forms of voluntourism have helped communities, but
not in orphanages. The good idea has transformed into a conscious clearing photo op that s
permanently affecting orphans and people in the international orphanage community. Voluntourism is
glamorizing orphanages making them appear better than lives at home, causing parents to surrender
their parental rights in order to give them a better life. The unthought of repercussions of orphanage
voluntourism is affecting orphans and orphanage culture permanently. ... Show more content on

To solve this issue, we need to protect the orphans. We need to stop letting orphanages be treated like
daycare, need better background checks and training for volunteers, and stop letting inhumane
behaviors happen in our orphanages. Orphanages need more funding, better trained volunteers and
better resources. Orphans have been through alot and are resilient, but we need to protect orphans
around the world, giving them the closest thing we can to their families. With good volunteers, we can
change these kids lives and get them into the lives they deserve. Children are amazingly resilient... we
find that if we get them out of institutions and into loving families early on, they recover their
developmental delays and go on to lead normal happy lives.

Christa Mcauliffe s Natural Disasters
Christa McAuliffe was a High School professor who spent her whole life teaching students the basic
elements of education and helping them build their path to the professional education. In 1984, NASA
s Teacher in Space program wanted to find an ordinary person who could establish communication
with students while being in a space shuttle. McAuliffe applied and was selected among 11,000
applicants. She took a whole year off educations to prepare for the big day. She was meant to teach
lessons from space to millions of school children, and became very popular throughout the whole
country, being invited to several TV shows, and being admired as she was the best of all them who
aspired to fly. When the time arrived, she and six more astronauts ... Show more content on

A presidential committee was designated to review the accident. After various months the
investigators wrote a report, showing an O Ring seal rupture as the main reason of the explosion. Due
to the freezing climate, the ring didn t expand to hold the seal firm, letting hot vapors to escape.
The tragedy could have been evaded. The problems with these rings were recognized by the engineers
working on the the shuttle, but they didn t notify the administration. This had been noted in previous
flights. Instead of demanding an inquiry, NASA ignored the issue and increased its tolerance. Just one
night before, the NASA called one of the manufacturers of the spacecraft parts. A crowd of engineers
told NASA about their concern of potential failures of the rings in severe climate and suggested to
postpone the launching. NASA denied the flight s suspension, and with the pressure from them, the
manufacturer approved launch, and Challenger was heading straight towards disaster. The failure in
communicating, mixed with bad management that permitted NASA to avoid safety requirements, was

Moses and the Burning Bush Essay
Two men are walking to temple. The older man says to the younger man, So, do you know why the
Jewish people aren t voting for President Bush? The younger man replies with an inquisitive No. Well,
says the older man, the last time the Jewish people followed a Bush they wound up wandering in the
Desert.
This recent political joke is in reference to the Exodus story of Moses and the burning bush. As stated
in the bible it reads:
Moses was tending the flock of Jethro, his father in law, the priest of Midian. He led the flock far into
the wilderness and came to Horev, the mountain of Elohim. The angel of YHVH appeared to him in a
flame of fire out of a bush. He gazed: the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the mountains of the central Sinai range, he saw the vision of the burning bush that ordered him, by
God, to return to Egypt and deliver his people from the harsh life of slavery instilled by the Pharaoh.
The Zohar, supposedly written by the Spanish Jewish Mystic Moses de Leon, presents some
interesting additions to the excerpt from Exodus chapter 3. Several hundred years ago, de Leon passed
around booklets of teachings and tales never heard or seen before by others of his community. De
Leon claimed to others that he had only copied the information from an ancient book of wisdom
written by a well known teacher of the second century who lived in Israel, Rabbi Shim on son of
Yohai. According to de Leon, after Rabbi Shim on s death the book became a secret and was handed
down to only a select few, including himself , and felt that he was to share the age old secrets by
copying portions from the original book and selling them. When a young man named Isaac son of
Samuel heard of the secret midrash teachings of Rabbi Shim on he began a search for de Leon. After
finding deLeon in Valladolid, Spain, Isaac agreed to meet with de Leon in Avila to view the secret
manuscript. However during his journey to Avila, Moses de Leon fell ill and died. When Isaac heard
of de Leon s death, he went to Avila to find

Supporting Moral Subjectivism
To begin, the term moral subjectivism implies that beliefs are individualized and correct for the said
individual. In essence, there is no real definitive truth that can be applied to moral sentences or beliefs.
For example, two people can have beliefs about the number 13 (or number 4 in the Chinese culture)
One highly religious person can believe it s the devil s number and will lead to murder, chaos, and
violence and for another person, possibly of a different moral code or of time period, (such as the
ancient Egyptians), it can be their lucky or spiritual number. Our text provides four reasons for
supporting moral subjectivism. These reasons include: The fact that feelings are subjective, often
disagreed on, and no one feeling or belief

Human Traficking and Female Sex Slaves
Introduction
Steve Galster and his team are in Thailand to help save thousands of women from being forced into
sex slavery. Central Asia has earned millions of dollars from forcing woman and young children from
being trafficked. In Bangkok, Thailand sex becomes one of the lucrative comities that many foreign
men go for. Most of the clients are Middle Eastern men and they go to Thailand for sex and most
women do the work willingly. One of the biggest well known organizations that operate human
trafficking is the Uzbeks. The Uzbeks hold their organization in the Grace Hotel, where there are a lot
of Middle Eastern men. They lure women from their poor countries and promise them a good job,
only soon to discover that they have been tricked ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What stood out
What stood out to me was how many women are forced into Human Trafficking and how many little
organizations are to help women in those situations. Annie Dieselberg has an organization in Thailand,
where former prostitutes come in and try to forget their past by making then move forward with their
lives. The Uzbeks have threatened her numerous times but continues to offer her services to help those
women. In 21st Century Sex Slavery Dieselberg mentions, These women do not know what they are
getting themselves into, they can be murdered, ganged rape, and even abused. Women end up going
through a lot of other situations when being forced into sex slavery.
What Did I Strongly Agree With
I agree with how they are trying to stop the trafficking ring from taking these women and arresting
them for their crimes. Steve Galster mentions how it is hard to take these rings down because the
women are too scared to testify against their boss. There is a division of labor in the Uzbeks rings
because they have so many groups and they do not know if the ringmasters are female or male. Even
if it is a dangerous mission for Steve s team, he is brave enough to help dozen of women from being
trafficked.
What Did I Strongly Disagree With
What I disagree with is how many organizations are there that trafficked women into becoming
prostitutes. Many women are tricked into Thailand because they thought they would get a better

Samo Duck Project Analysis
By the end of April, the Samo Duck Project will have added three colorful new ducks to Norman s
landscape, thanks to the project funded by the Norman Arts Council and their recent announcement. In
2010, Douglas Elder a member of the Norman Public Arts Board and Director of the Firehouse Art
Center proposed his idea for the four foot fiberglass duck that would foster community based social
interactions about art and awareness towards the art in children s environments. I sculpted a maquette
and presented it to the board. My hope was we could do a project that was 100% local. A local

Walker said that the seven members of the board represent various constituencies of Norman including
artists, business owners, tourism industry representatives, and art advocates. Walker said they consider
how the design would engage children, the overall visual attraction, and how the designs fit within the
collection of sculptures. The original Samo Duck sits at Lions Park that s a part of the Firehouse Arts
Center, as the other eighteen have been placed throughout the city of Norman. The Samo Duck Project
s goal is to put public art next to children s playground equipment in Norman public parks. It is all for
the kids of Norman , he said and an idea of creating an understanding amongst kids really played a
huge role in how Elder developed the duck. Elder said, We want to unify the community behind these
ducks, who hates a rubber duck? Nobody! Elder calls the duck a magnet for children, it is
representational to childhood and adolescences. We didn t want something abstract. Its magnet for
children and it hasn t been branded by anything , Elder recalls saying it was perfect for the

Lotus Car Rental Alternative Fuel Proposal
Combustion engine vehicles have come a long way, especially since conventional vehicles are
reaching upwards of 30 miles per gallon. Conventional vehicles have only grown more reliable over
the past few decades, and continue to improve with each passing year. Due to these advancements,
many would agree that there is no reason to switch over to new alternative fuel vehicles. However,
Lotus Car Rental should add 100 alternative fuel vehicles to its fleet, placing 50 vehicles in Boston,
MA and 50 vehicles in Los Angeles, CA. in order to maximize profit.

charger the battery can charge up to 80% in 30 minutes (United States Department of Energy, 2013).
Recharging locations are mainly located on the east and west coast of the United States.
The recommended hybrid vehicle is the Toyota Prius c. The manufacturer s suggested retail price is
$18,950, and it drives 53 city miles and 46 highway miles per gallon (Clean Cities, 2013). This
vehicle is the most similar to the conventional vehicles the company currently owns, and it does not
require any special fuel or charging stations or any operational training.
The recommended flex fuel vehicle is the Ford Focus with a manufacturer s suggested retail price of
$16,200. While this vehicle is utilizing regular gasoline it runs for 27 city miles and 38 highway miles
per gallon; however, when it is utilizing E85 the miles per gallon drop to 20 city miles and 28 highway
miles per gallon (Clean Cities, 2013). E85 refueling locations are mainly located in the north central
United States.
After conducting thorough research, purchasing the Toyota Prius c hybrid vehicle would be most
beneficial to Lotus Car Rental, due to its ability to run on

Psychoanalytic Theory Of Sigmund Freud
Week 3 Essay
First or Foundation A Look into the Psychoanalytic Theory of Sigmund Freud
David Haygood
Talladega College
Applied Psychology 202
7/7/2017
Abstract The psychoanalytic theory by Sigmund Freud has always been argued to be one of the most
controversial theories in the school of psychology. Critics have questioned how relevant the
perspective of Freud is due to the fact that it holds no scientific basis. Sigmund Freud s psychoanalytic
theory of personality argues that human behavior is the result of the interactions among three
component parts of the mind: the id, ego, and superego. This theory, known as Freud s structural
theory of personality, places great emphasis on the role of unconscious psychological ... Show more

Even though Freud s family had limited finances and were forced to live in a crowded apartment, his
parents made every effort to foster his obvious intellectual capacities. In 1881 Freud received his
doctorate and started work under Jean Martin Charcot (Rana 97). Freud practiced and observed
hypnosis as a clinical technique, and began to formulate the beginnings of his theory on the mind.
There were no unusual aspects to Freuds childhood that seem to guide him in his rationing of thinking
for his theories. Freuds parents realized that he would be a scholarly child and tried to accommodate
him with a solid education. Freud believed that the human personality consisted of three interworking
parts: the id, the ego, and the superego. The id, the largest part of the mind, is related to desires and
impulses and is the main source of basic biological needs. The ego is related to reasoning and is the
conscious, rational part of the personality; it monitors behavior in order to satisfy basic desires without
suffering negative consequences (Boundless.com). The superego, or conscience, develops through
interactions with others (mainly parents) who want the child to conform to the norms of society
(Boundless.com). Freud believed that our adult lives were shaped by childhood experiences, meaning
that if children did not receive the proper nurturing, that the child would be stuck in that stage or
behaviors

The Freedom Of Freedom
Imagine having the ability to be able to do whatever you please, however you please and whenever
you please. The ability to speak, travel, lead, rebel and countless other actions. This is the core
principle behind freedom. Everyone on Earth has the desire to be free. But what does it mean to truly
be free? Freedom by definition is the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without
hindrance or restraint (Oxford English Dictionary). It s a concept that we have fought for since the
beginning of time, whether it be for ourselves, others or even animals. The U.S as a country, like many
other countries that is completely built upon the convention of freedom. It is so important to us that
freedom is one of the rights listed in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. After centuries or
even millennia of fighting for the basic right of freedom, a sizable portion of the population in first
world countries are proud to say that they re free. But are they really free? Is there a such thing as a
human who is actually free, let alone the average person. Even though we are not literally bound in
chains, there are still shackles that prevent all of us from truly being free.
Throughout the course of history freedom has been a controversial topic in society. There has always
been the question of who deserves freedom, what rights fall under freedom and what freedom is in the
first place. As a construct, freedom has been well ingrained into modern society and most people that

Smart Card is the perfect media that can be used as a health card due to its small size, secure,
capability of digitizing a huge amount of personal and medical data [4]. Some attempts have been
done by researchers to develop a personal portable healthcare record smart cards and a corresponding
framework to simplify maintenance and transfer of patient records [9]. Researchers in the U.K. have
created MyCare, a smart card with a fold out USB plug that can hold a patient s medical history.
MyCare was developed with open source that enables it to run on different computers and operating
systems. Data is protected through PINs and encryption, with a higher level of encryption planned for
further stages in the development process [5][6]. These smart card projects work better in countries
with nationalized health care. In the US For example, competition among hospitals is a barrier to a
smart card system [5]. Smart card technology was not widely spread due to lack of standards (Dash,
2001); the communications between a smart card and smart card reader. The cards also need to be
updated constantly which would be hard to enforce [10]. For smart cards, user mobility is only
possible if every machine that the user access has a smart card reader attached. The machine must
support the same standard smart card reader interfaces or use the same proprietary smart card reader

Living A Happy And Simple Life
Do you think it is possible to live a happy and simple life? It is more than certainly possible to live a
life of bliss, even in a world with today s chaotic means. You do not need to be rich in order to live a
luxurious life, you could be the poorest person in the world but also the happiest. Social media is also
a very big aspect for humanity when it comes to happiness.
As stated in the introduction, you can be the poorest person in the world, yet happier than the richest
person. A statement from a very well known commercial and advertisement company Charmin Ultra,

Some may say that money is what true happiness is all about, money buys happiness, and without
riches, you are nothing and have no reasons to be happy, nor exist. If one has all the best things in life,
it will make them happy, for it has no reason to do otherwise. Social networking is mandatory because
without it you are left in the dark about what is going on in the world and one s happiness has nothing
to do with people s use of social media.
However, those who say money buys happiness must be one of two things; liers or blind to the fact
that you can have true happiness with no money at all. According to Bruno, Living simple is not easy
because it requires lots of patience and dedication. First you would need to make a game plan and
know you want in life, what you need, and what you can live without. It is interesting to find out all
the things you can live without that you once thought you needed to survive. Planning is the key to
having a happy and simple life (2017).
Social Media is more than definitely an indication for one s happiness because as stated early, there
are many events that occur where someone gets bullied and begins having suicidal thoughts or get
depressed from all the negative situations shown on the Internet which allows no room for happiness.

Writing Styles Of My Writing Style
Sometimes when I look at the writing styles of my peers, be it on social media, emails I can sense a
distinction between the different writing styles that are used. When I m writing whether it be in an
email, text or a lab report I try my best to write everything more formally and longhand, which a lot of
people tend to overlook in today s society.
The last thing I wrote was a letter that I had sent to my significant other through the mail. The nuances
of writing seem to be disappearing from today s society, the finer intricacies of the English language
will be lost in a generation or two, and cursive language is no longer being taught in schools, with all
the abbreviations being used a lot of writing feels less personal and more mechanical.

The Proposed Solution1 Builds A Framework For Add Static...
The proposed solution1 builds a framework to add static probes. This solution was designed and
implemented by me as part of VProbes[7] project during summer internship 2014 at VMware, inc. The
solution in this paper covers a high level overview of the framework. It builds on top of the existing
VProbes[7] design1. User space applications or the existing kernel source can add static probes using
this framework. The paper describes adding static probes in a user space application to keep the
explanation simple. Figure 1 shows a simple user code. The application contains two probe points
defined viz. FuncEntry and FuncExit. These are static probes which are added by the developer. The
probe points are expanded in a macro which is defined in the header file probes.h. Each of these probe
points are declared as a volatile integer variable. However, these integer variables are declared in a
separate section in the ELF file as shown in Figure 2. Thus all the defined probe points are part of new
section called probes_uwsection. The probe points are padded with a name called PROBE_ and
_PROBE to avoid name mangling issue in C++. Hence, after pre processing stage, every probe name
is padded. The application is compiled and loaded. During application load in the kernel, the binary is
intercepted at the ELF loader. In the ELF loader, the binary is checked for the presence of the new
section probes_uwsection. If the new section exists, all the probe points declared in the new

Moving In A New Country Analysis
Almost a decade has passed and yet, the daunting feeling of stepping off the plane, into the unknown

Hopelessly lost at first, my journey began to feel like an exciting new adventure. Settling in a new
country has many negative effectsas one adapts to the new culture, people and starting a life from step

society with new morals, roots, and lifestyle. Immigrants must make the decision if they want to blend
in and follow the foreign culture or continue to stick to their own culture. Making a decision was not
an option in my family, it was clear that it s our duty to carry on our culture and traditions regardless
of where we end up around the world. However, it s important to find a balance between staying true
to one s roots and being able toevolve with the new environment and assimilate to the society,
otherwise, one may become isolated.I remember observing my mom, quietly sufferingin loneliness as
she left everyone she knew, her family and friends, to a country where she had no one. However, with

is language barriers as it has remained to be a prevalent challenge for many immigrants, particularly

going to school for the first time in Canada and being extremely terrified to interact with other people
who spoke a language I hardly knew. I had forgotten my lunch and wasn t able to communicate this to
anyone so I busted into tears as I struggled to convey such a simple message. Moving countries can be

James D. Watson s The Double Helix Essay
Failed DNA Structures
Over the course of the modern age, the human body was still a mystery waiting to be solved. The body
contains secrets one can only hope to discover. Over the twentieth century, scientists tried to
understand one of the most complex concepts in the biological field. DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid)
was at the forefront of research. Several theories claimed to have solved the structural concept of
DNA. However, it was not until Francis Crick and James D. Watson discovered the true structure, the
double helix. However, many potential models of DNA had passed through the biology field until
eventual lose of credibility. The past models would contain a fixed detail that would make the entire
concept invalid. In James D. Watson book, The Double Helix, he illustrates his path amid incorrect
theories until he reaches the model that is taught around the world today. One of the flawed theories
was model with a sugar phosphate backbone that was at the centre of the molecule. Three chains
twisted about each other in a way that gave rise to a crystallographic repeat every 28 A along the
helical axis (Watson, 1968). Weak evidence backed up the model; the evidence was indirect. Evidence
like the X ray reflection apparently agreed with the model. The reflections also agreed with the
quantitative measurements. Although the model fit the X ray reflection calculations, it was guessed as
to what force held the chains together. This guess was on salt bridges that the

CDDP Induces Phosphorylation of TRAF6 Reducing Ubiquitination in the Cytosol Genotoxic stresses
are hypothesized to reduce K63 linked ubiquitination of p53 which would then cause TRAF6 to not be
recruited. K63 linked ubiquitination of p53 was assessed through stimulation with the genotoxic stress
agent CDDP. To test this hypothesis, an immunoprecipitation assay of mouse embryonic fibroblasts
(MEFs) was used to observe p53 ubiquitination in the cytosol of wild type and TRAF6 knockout cells
in the presence of CDDP for 4 hours. P53 was blotted as an input to ensure presence. This assay shows
that K63 linked ubiquitination of p53 was only observed in wild type MEFs in the cytosol indicating
that TRAF6 is necessary for K63 linked ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In an immunoprecipitation assay, 293T cells testing wild type and mutated TQ/SQ sites in TRAF6 was
utilized to determine the effect of genotoxic agents on the phosphorylation of TRAF6 at TQ/SQ
motifs. The authors immunoprecipitated for flag asTRAF6 was tagged with the flag antibody. CDDP
and ATM/ATR were used as our tested variables. The assay elucidated that the double mutation of S13
and T330 on TRAF6 significantly reduced phosphorylation of TRAF6 in the presence of CDDP and
absence of ATM/ATR. Consequently, this data provides information for belief that mutated TRAF6 is
not sufficient for phosphorylation to occur in the presence of CDDP. Finally, a cellular fractionation
assay for 293T wild type and mutant TRAF6 cells with or without CDDP treatment tested whether
such mutation in the presence of genotoxic stress inhibits or promotes TRAF6 expression. As in the
previous fractionation studies, tubulin and laminB were loading controls. These results concluded that
the mutant displayed resistance to the CDDP mediated reduction of TRAF6 in the cytosol. Overall,
these studies suggest that CDDP induces phosphorylation of TRAF6 in the cytosol, which may
contribute to the reduction of K63 linked ubiquitination in the cytosol. The information provided thus
far suggests that K63 linked ubiquitination of p53 is accomplished by TRAF6, which is hypothesized
to suppress spontaneous apoptosis. Moreover, genotoxic stress is shown to promote TRAF6

Heating Ventilation And Air Conditioning Systems
Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning Systems

Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning system serves an
important purpose in where we live or work. Whether we notice it or not it is providing us with clean
air to inhale. Not only does the HVAC system provide us with fresh air, it also: maintains the flow of
air to make sure certain areas are contamination free, eliminates contaminates before it is released to
the atmosphere, protects equipment, and keeps us in a comfortable state.
Air Flow Control Flow control is an important aspect of a ventilation system. The airflow scheme that
is used allows separation between contaminated areas from non contaminated area. The way that
airflow is controlled is by using high and low pressure areas. Since air moves from a high pressure to
a low pressure it is important to keep a contaminated area at a lower pressure. When a contaminated
area is set to a negative pressure it prevents air from the contaminated area from flowing into non
contaminated area. The pressure of the contaminated area inside the building must always be lower
than the pressure outside the building. When the pressure inside the contaminated area is lower than
the pressure outside the building it helps prevent toxic air from being leaked out and released to the
atmosphere. Once the leaking of air inside the building is prevented the air can go

Mallard s Demise
Louise Mallard s Demise in The Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin Kate Chopin s short story, The
Story of an Hour , is about a woman, named Louise Mallard, in the late 1800s who is told that her
husband, Brently, has died in a railroad accident. Initially, Louise is surprised, distressed, and drowned
in sorrow. After mourning the loss, the woman realizes that she is finally free and independent, and
that the only person she has to live for is herself. She becomes overwhelmed with joy about her new
discovery of freedom, and dreams of all of the wonderful events in life that lie ahead of her. Louise s
sister finally convinces her to leave her room and come back into reality. While Louise is walking
down her steps, her husband surprisingly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Either way, it can be interpreted that the couple never saw each other before Louise died. Therefore,
Louise Mallard may have simply passed away from a heart that was exhausted from her strong initial
grief of losing her husband and her new adventurous excitement from gaining freedom (Cunningham
3). The unique ending of The Story of an Hour also contains some irony. During the 1800s, which is
the time period that Chopin wrote this short story, men held more respect than women in society, and
women were expected to be dependent upon a husband. A critic, Emily Toth, states that Chopin may
have included Louise s death at the end of the story to please authors and editors because presenting
that a woman may be able to happily live without a husband in the 1890s would be a fanatic idea
(Cunningham 4). The multitude of conservative readers in the 1890s could interpret that Louise passed
away because she was too independent, but the actual meaning of the death may have very well been
because of Louise s joy from finally being dismissed from her husband s control. By using irony,
Chopin was able to both please the critics of her time period, and prove a hidden point that women can
find joy without a man. Over all, in The Story of an Hour , Kate Chopin leaves the meaning

Reimbursement System
At no other time in history have providers had to cope with a payment system in which their patients
are the biggest payer class. This shift has required physicians to adjust their payment strategies
significantly to stay afloat.
On top of this financial crunch, it is estimated that roughly 20% of commercial insurers inaccurately
process claims. As reimbursement models and regulations continue to change, healthcare providers
face unique challenges in collecting the money owed them.
One of the top priorities of any practice is to maintain a healthy revenue cycle by processing and
submit health insurance claims with speed and accuracy. But when daily claims management

Stump-Watchers In Han Feiizi s
Han Feizi does not like the way of the former kings, he thinks that it is an old thing to do. Han Feizi
also says, Those who think they can take the ways of the ancient kings and use them to govern the
people of today all belong in the category of stump watchers (Pg. 98)! This category that he is putting
them in, I think is almost like the lowest of the low. Stump watchers are people who think something
that happened one time will happen repeatedly. He just wants to put a modern way of thinking on the
old. The way that he is going about it though I think is completely wrong because it is hard to uproot
people s lives, and tell them that they are all wrong. Instead, he could just have tried to bend the rules

Doubt would come in the form of showing ambition to gain the throne. I think this is apparent when
Han Feizi says, The beast called the dragon can be tamed and trained to the point where you may ride
on its back. But on the underside of his throat, it has scaled a foot in diameter that curls back from the
body, and anyone who chances to brush against them is sure to die (Pg. 79). I think this quote is
talking about ambition and how it can get you killed if you do not follow the law. The law must be
clear so that subordinates do not try to become the king. Becoming the king in the sense that they are
not following the rituals assigned to them and they are following the rituals of the king. To finish off
the quote and how it is relevant to this chapter Han Feizi say, The ruler of men too has as his bristling
scales. Only if a speaker can avoid brushing against them will he have any hope for success (Pg. 78).
This is saying for someone to come into office or ministry that they should not butt heads with the
king. They should abide by the laws and then not go outside of them. For when they go outside of the
laws then they will be punished for the laws are only beneficial for the king. Someone who is going to

High School Near Future Research
High School is a completely different compared to middle school. For the first time ever, your going
to have to think about your future and what will be the best thing for you in the long run. Some of you
already have an idea of what you see yourself doing in the future, but the rest of you may not have a
clue what you want to be. When I was in your position, I was repeatedly asked What do you want to
be in the future. I always responded back that I was not sure yet. However, I was trying to completely
avoid that topic as I didn t want to worry about any of that stuff. To this day I m not 100% sure what I
want to be as I believe that all the puzzles will join together in the near future.
To be successful in high school, you do not have to have everything planned out, but you should have
at least a small idea of what you are going to do. This will be completely up to you as you have to
chose what you like the most or in other words what makes you happy. If you want to join a club or a
specific class, go ahead if it truly makes you happy, but with that being said, do not join anything in
which you are forced to as it has to come naturally to you. I never had a problem with this, however; I

What Are The Influence Of The Roman Bath And The Roman Baths
Both the Roman Baths and the British Museum exemplified the dominating influence of the Roman
and Greek empires in Britain s early history. However, even though both possess features of the
Roman era, only the British Museum had Grecian elements in its galleries as well. The presence of
both institutions highlight the imperial nature Britain adapted in arts, architecture, and foreign affairs
due to the exposure to these two cultures. The Roman Baths was a public bath house where people
went for bathing and socializing. It s well engineered system and beautiful structure made out to be a
wonderful place for people to meet on a day to day business to catch up with current events and
matters of the like. Unlike the Roman Baths, the British Museum is not a social hangout, but a public
space where everyone can learn something from almost every continent through their treasures. There
are sculptures, dishes, clocks, and many other exquisite pieces exhibited in the museum to represent
the various cultures they come from. It s evident from various historical British locations that both the
Romans and Greeks had a strong presence in Britain s early history. Around 70 AD, the Roman Baths
were constructed by the Romans when they believed that the spring water was a gift from the Gods (
Roman Baths ). At this point in history, the Romans had already invaded Britain several years
beforehand. Them building holy structures on British land is one of many occasions where they
showcased a mentality that whatever they touched was theirs. An attitude that Britain would later
adopt during the Age of Exploration. Similarly, the Parthenon statues in the British Museum
commonly depicted images of power, strength, and beauty. The statues not only symbolized power by
placing warriors on horses, but also by defining the muscles and bone structures of the subjects. It
seemed as if there were two modes for the statues: Herculean stances or sensual poses that provoked
godly features. Such idealistic images have had lasting impacts on art and architecture around the
globe. Examples of British images that represent the same ideals/have traces of Roman/Grecian
architecture include various amphitheaters around the nation, Bignor Roman

The Dilemma of Henrietta Lacks
No one would have suspected when Henrietta Lacks was born in 1920 that she would change the
study of cells forever. She was born with the name Loretta Pleasant to Eliza and Johnny Pleasant,
however her name was soon changed to Henrietta. When her mother died in 1924 giving birth to her

ended up in the care of her grandfather, Tommy Lacks, and sharing a room with her cousin David Day

There were many scientific advances made possible by Henrietta s cells (HeLa cells). In the 1950s,
Jonas Salk used the cells to test the first polio vaccine. Thanks to mass produced HeLa cells, Salk s

taken from Henrietta s cancer, over twenty tons of cells have been grown from her samples
(Biography.com Editors).
The HeLa cells began receiving media attention not long after scientists first discovered their amazing
abilities. The HeLa designation came from Henrietta s name. In the beginning, newspapers would
propose a Helen Lane or Helen Larson as the donator of the cells, but it wasn t long before Henrietta
Lacks was named at the originator of the cells. The family was not informed for many years about this
(Grady, Zielinski).
In the early 1970s, researchers called the Lacks family requesting blood samples from Henrietta s
family so as to determine which cells were HeLa cells as they had begun contaminating other cell
cultures in labs. One has to wonder if the need to identify HeLa cells from other cells hadn t arisen,
than perhaps the Lacks family would have never been told of impact of their mother s cells. As it is,
the researchers who contacted the Lacks family didn t make much effort to explain the situation to

Electricity and Magnetism
Human civilisation has dealt with magnetism for millennia, earliest evidence dating as far back as
1000 BC where the ancient Chinese civilisation discovered a naturally occurring magnetic ore,
magnetite. This ore, commonly known as lodestone was used by the ancient Chinese as a geomagnetic
compass, however, no one really knew what magnetism was at the time. For centuries on, we have had
basic knowledge regarding electricity based upon static electricity found from rubbing amber and fur.
However, up until the early 1800s, our understanding of electricity and magnetism was severely
limited considering both of them as entirely separate phenomena.
Before we delve deeper into the topic, what is electricity and magnetism? Electricity is, ... Show more

The ions are then accelerated so that they have the same kinetic energy. These accelerated ions are
then passed through a vacuum tube (remember mass to charge ratios), subjected with an
electromagnetic field. Lighter ions will be deflected more and the more positively charged they are
(less electrons / more electrons knocked off) the more they are deflected. One can alter the strength of
the field to accommodate for the mass to charge ratio range needed to be detected. Accelerated ions
which are still within the path of the tube are then captured by a detector which analyses the amount of
ions carried through the ion beam. The vacuum tube where ions were accelerated through is called a
mass analyser. The relationship between the accelerated ion beams and the electromagnetic field being
subjected is best summarised through Newton s 2nd Law and Lorentz Force Law:
F=ma
F=q(E+V ×B)
Where F = Force, m = mass of ions, a = acceleration, q = ionic charge, E = electric field and V x B =
the vector cross product of the ion velocity and the applied magnetic field. When a charged particle is
accelerated perpendicular to a magnetic field, it will curve, hence the deflection of ion beams in the
mass analyser. This deflection can be best described as a centripetal force and the force applied on the
charge can also be given by F = qv x B. Since the force is perpendicular, the magnitude of the

Medical Marijuana Card Research Paper
Your medical marijuana card may be the key to improved health, but it s not a free pass. It comes with
responsibilities and rules you must follow in order to keep it. It s also not a guarantee of access. Here
are five facts you need to know about your medical marijuana card.
Cards Expire
Your medical marijuana card expires and must be renewed. How often you need to renew varies by
state. Californians must renew their card every year while those in New Jersey must renew only every
two years.

It does not permit marijuana use in public places or anywhere that cigarette smoking is prohibited.
You will be fined for smoking or otherwise consuming marijuana in public, even with a medical
marijuana card.
Travel Carefully
Medical marijuana use is not legal in every state. Note, too, that states honor only their own medical
marijuana cards and permits. A New Jersey card will not protect you from legal ramifications in
California, even though both states allow medical marijuana usage. Some states do reciprocate with
others. In this instance, you will need to register for and purchase marijuana in the state you are
visiting and use it there. Even with a reciprocating agreement, carrying marijuana across state lines is
a federal crime.
DUI Is Possible
In 2016, an Arizona appeals court ruled in favor of protecting medical marijuana users from DUI
charges. It was determined, however, that cardholders could still be charged with DUI if police can
prove they were too impaired to be driving. Remember that is is still unwise and illegal to operate a
vehicle while under the influence of marijuana, even if you hold a medical marijuana card.
There are still legal kinks and slippery slopes affecting the use of medical marijuana. Keep this in
mind when you get your medical marijuana card and make sure you understand what it permits and
what it doesn t. Your local officials and doctor will both be happy to answer your questions and help
you follow the appropriate medical cannabis

Sodium Chloride Reaction Lab Report
Introduction/Purpose: The purpose of this lab was to find out how gaviscon reacted with different salt
solutions. Sodium Alginate is a compound that forms with the Gaviscon and forms a raft and blocks
all the stomach acid from traveling up the esophagus. Procedure: One gram of the following salts were
measured out, Calcium chloride, Lithium chloride, Magnesium chloride, Potassium chloride, Sodium
chloride, Strontium chloride, and Copper chloride. Each of the salts were placed into cups and added
to 80 mL of water. Then Gaviscon was individually dropped into each solution. Do this for each salt
solution and record the results. Next, forcefully expel the Gaviscon in a regular steady stream into
each different solution. Record the observations. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The results may have been off due to inaccurate weighing of the measurements of the salts or water to
make the solutions. The results also could have been inaccurate through cross contamination between
mixing the solutions. The four salts mixed with water, Potassium chloride, Lithium chloride, Sodium
chloride, and Magnesium chloride, all dissolved the Gaviscon. Most of the compounds that disperse
the Gaviscon were +1 charged. The three salts mixed with water that solidified the Gaviscon were,
Calcium chloride, Strontium chloride, and Copper chloride. The solutions that did not dissolve the
Gaviscon had a +2 charge. Magnesium chloride was one exception. Magnesium chloride has a +2
charge but had a reaction like a +1 solutions. Magnesium chloride may be different in size which
would cause a different result. It is the smallest one in the group of compounds in this experiment. The
element copper is not talked about often but through observations and results of the experiment copper
is most likely +2 charged. Copper is inferred to be a +2 charge because the other chemical compounds
with +2 charge dissolved the Gaviscon and the Copper chloride dissolved the Gaviscon so it fit in the
category of the solutions with +2 charge group. Something that would have to be seen at microscopic

embryonic stem cells research is ethical. Embryonic stem cell research is the extracting of embryos in

pessimism. Both of these songs are about a man longing for love; however, in the first, the man is
optimistic and hopeful, while in the second he is getting anxious and a little doubtful. The way that the
themes are portrayed are both similar and different in that they are about love, optimism/pessimism

Mayer says that he has been, searching all my days just to find you not sure who I m looking for, and
the listener feels his exhaustion, sadness and most of all, his loneliness.
In his song, Michael Buble is clearly lonely, but his loneliness in motivating him to persevere in his
life, and to find the one that will complete him. The lyric I know someday that it ll all turn out, you ll
make me work, so we can work to work it out shows this. He knows that the love of his life is out
there and that she is coming, and therefore his loneliness feels temporary. There is, in his mind, an end
in sight. He understands that he has to be patient: I might have to wait, I ll never give up, I guess it s
half timing and the other half s luck. Buble trusts that love is coming for him. He knows he won t have
to be lonely for too long.
The songs, I Just Haven t Met you Yet, and Love Song For No One both focus on the theme of love,
and at first glance, can be perceived as very similar. But by dissecting the lyrics and looking more
closely at the undertones and messages of both songs, we find that they are actually almost opposite in
their approach to the mystery of love.
As an ending note, John Mayer is still girlfriend less, while, as a true example of life imitating art,
Michael Buble is engaged to the beautiful model who played the girl of his dreams in the video for his
hit song. I guess he really did meet her after all.
I Just Haven t Met You

Sexual Exploitation of Women in the Developing World Essay
Exploitation of Women in the Developing World
The modern world today is proud to recognize the equality that has been acknowledged between age,
gender, and race. Women are beginning to be treated as equals with men, in new customs, lifestyle,
society, and economy. Today, women are freer and are liberated from their traditional roles as
housewives, and are pursuing their hopes and dreams. However, this is not the case in many regions of
the world. In the developing countries, thousands of females are dehumanized by prostitution and the
trafficking of women and children is dehumanizing which serves only to benefit men. It exploits and
violates the rights of women in the developing world. Sexual exploitation, which includes sex tourism,

The all encompassing power of the sex industry has devastated the economic and financial status of
women in the developing countries. Governments in the developing world encourage the sex industry
due to the profit they gain to pay their countries debts, and are uninterested in the women s well being.
Women made vulnerable by poverty are most susceptible to the sex industry because they lack the
resources, the education, and the economic alternatives to pursue other work possibilities. The lack of
education diminishes women s potential to gain paid employment, and desperately consent to
prostitution as their survival strategy.
The governments of the developing world encourage and utilize the sex trade industry as a progress
strategy to repay millions of dollars of debt to international corporations. There are also economic
incentives for the governments of both the exporting and importing countries to ignore the trafficking
in women, and the governments are relatively uninterested in the women s well being.
The sex industry promotes gender inequality and racial discrimination: foreign women maintain the
lowest position in the sex trade hierarchy.
The sex industry focuses on the women and children that are devastated by poverty. One can argue
that prostitution is a survival strategy for women in absolute poverty, but it is the sex industry that
locks them in poverty. Sex traders recruit women by promising them jobs, a

Floor Pillow Research Paper
When it comes to accessories, floor cushions and pillows are often overlooked. However, these
convenient additions can make a difference in the overall look and feel of any space. Furthermore, as
throw pillows are often used to add color, interest, and texture, matching floor pillows are a great way
to complete any space with a hint of extra color and drama.

In addition, when not in use, floor pillows can be stashed away.
Available in an array of colors, shapes, sizes, and patterns, from artistic to eclectic and modern to
minimal, floor pillows are definitely a gorgeous décor option.

Scratching Research Paper
Spraying Urine Marking
Cats use spraying to mark territory and communicate lots of information about themselves with others
without needing to meet face to face. Both females and males may spray, but it s most common in
unneutered males. Neutered cats may spray if very stressed or anxious, so it s important not to punish
spraying, but instead to find the cause of it and address that.
Scratching
Scratching is a normal and necessary behaviour for cats, and should be encourage, albeit in the right
places as it helps to improve the quality of the cat s claws by removing the old, blunt sheaths to reveal
the new sharp claw underneath. It s also used for scent marking and to exercise the paw muscles,
therefore it s important to give your cats plenty of appropriate things to scratch (such as multiple
scratching posts) to keep your beloved furniture safe.

In these cases the cat should be praised rather than scolded, and the gift should then be subtly disposed
of.
Crepuscular Waking Hours
Cats are most active at dawn and dusk, so although this is when we as humans like to be sleeping it s
quite normal for cats to be up and investigating as they would in the wild, even though they are long
domesticated.
Burying Food
Cats sometimes scratch near their food bowl, and this is thought to be a throwback to their lives in the
wild where it was important to be tidy to avoid attracting the attention of predators. If a cat really
dislikes their food they may also choose to bury it in the same way they would with faeces. In multicat
households cats may also sometimes bury their food to hide from others so they can enjoy at a later
time.
Burying Faeces
Although usually seen as a good thing in litter trays, this can be an inconvenience for gardeners
outdoors. Less dominant cats bury their faeces to help dampen the odour, whereas dominant

Non Traditional Music Industry
With the internet taking over, the music market is now moving from what was once blockbuster
albums which sustains widespread popularities and achieve enormous sales, to single hits streamed
online with fifteen days of fame. Getting on top of the Billboard chart was usually used to define
whether is a music group successful, but while still relevant, it has also been argued with a new era of
online based sales, distribution, marketing and brand making outlets, all which reach out to a different
kind of target that requires their unique marketing strategies, which we should take into account when
we try to define the success in the music industry nowadays.
Taking advantage of the internet, artists are now generating their main interest on tour and online,
some even managed to get the two combined. By using the internet and cutting out the middle man in
the old industrial chain, artists get the chance to build a strong connection directly with their fans,
saving their own voice to speak and some valuable expenses at the same time. By building a fan base
and interacting with them through social media, musicians can engage directly with supporters and act
quickly when the opportunity arrives.

  • 2. Research Paper On The Goodwood Museum The Goodwood museum is a plantation house from the 1830 s and had several different owners. Several hundred years ago, de Leon passed around booklets of teachings and tales never heard or seen before by others of his community. De Leon claimed to others that he had only copied the information from an ancient book of wisdom written by a well known teacher of the second century who lived in Israel, Rabbi Shim on son of Yohai. In essence, there is no real definitive truth that can be applied to moral sentences or beliefs. For example, two people can have beliefs about the number 13 (or number 4 in the Chinese culture) One highly religious person can believe it s the devil s number and will lead to murder, chaos, and violence and for another person, possibly of a different moral code or of time period, (such as the ancient Egyptians), it can be their lucky or spiritual number. Critics have questioned how relevant the perspective of Freud is due to the fact that it holds no scientific basis. Even though Freud s family had limited finances and were forced to live in a crowded apartment, his parents made every effort to foster his obvious intellectual capacities. In 1881 Freud received his doctorate and started work under Jean Martin Charcot (Rana 97). Freud practiced and observed hypnosis as a clinical technique, and began to formulate the beginnings of his theory on the mind. There were no unusual aspects to Freuds childhood that seem to guide him in his rationing of thinking for his theories. Freuds parents realized that he would be a scholarly child and tried to accommodate him with a solid education. Freud believed that the human personality consisted of three interworking parts: the id, the ego, and the superego. The id, the largest part of the mind, is related to desires and impulses and is the main source of basic biological needs. The ego is related to reasoning and is the conscious, rational part of the personality; it monitors behavior in order to satisfy basic desires without suffering negative consequences (Boundless.com). The superego, or conscience, develops through interactions with others (mainly parents) who want the child to conform to the norms of society (Boundless.com). Freud believed that our adult lives were shaped by childhood experiences, meaning that if children did not receive the proper nurturing, that the child would be stuck in that stage or behaviors ... It s a concept that we have fought for since the beginning of time, whether it be for ourselves, others or even animals. The U.S as a country, like many other countries that is completely built upon the convention of freedom. It is so important to us that freedom is one of the rights listed in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. But are they really free? Is there a such thing as a human who is actually free, let alone the average person. Even though we are not literally bound in chains, there are still shackles that prevent all of us from truly being free. This solution was designed and implemented by me as part of VProbes[7] project during summer internship 2014 at VMware, inc. The solution in this paper covers a high level overview of the framework. It builds on top of the existing VProbes[7] design1. User space applications or the existing kernel source can add static probes using this framework. The paper describes adding static probes in a user space application to keep the explanation simple. Figure 1 shows a simple user code. The application contains two probe points defined viz. FuncEntry and FuncExit. These are static probes which are added by the developer. The probe points are expanded in a macro which is defined in the header file probes.h. Each of these probe points are declared as a volatile integer variable. However, these integer variables are declared in a separate section in the ELF file as shown in Figure 2. Thus all the defined probe points are part of new section called probes_uwsection. The probe points are padded with a name called PROBE_ and _PROBE to avoid name mangling issue in C++. Hence, after pre processing stage, every probe name is padded. The application is compiled and loaded. During application load in the kernel, the binary is intercepted at the ELF loader. The body contains secrets one can only hope to discover. Over the twentieth century, scientists tried to understand one of the most complex concepts in the biological field. DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid) was at the forefront of research. Several theories claimed to have solved the structural concept of DNA. However, it was not until Francis Crick and James D. Watson discovered the true structure, the double helix. However, many potential models of DNA had passed through the biology field until eventual lose of credibility. The past models would contain a fixed detail that would make the entire concept invalid. In James D. Watson book, The Double Helix, he illustrates his path amid incorrect theories until he reaches the model that is taught around the world today. One of the flawed theories was model with a sugar phosphate backbone that was at the centre of the molecule. Three chains twisted about each other in a way that gave rise to a crystallographic repeat every 28 A along the helical axis (Watson, 1968). Weak evidence backed up the model; the evidence was indirect. Evidence like the X ray reflection apparently agreed with the model. The reflections also agreed with the quantitative measurements. To test this hypothesis, an immunoprecipitation assay of mouse embryonic fibroblasts (MEFs) was used to observe p53 ubiquitination in the cytosol of wild type and TRAF6 knockout cells in the presence of CDDP for 4 hours. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In an immunoprecipitation assay, 293T cells testing wild type and mutated TQ/SQ sites in TRAF6 was utilized to determine the effect of genotoxic agents on the phosphorylation of TRAF6 at TQ/SQ motifs. The authors immunoprecipitated for flag asTRAF6 was tagged with the flag antibody. CDDP and ATM/ATR were used as our tested variables. The assay elucidated that the double mutation of S13 and T330 on TRAF6 significantly reduced phosphorylation of TRAF6 in the presence of CDDP and absence of ATM/ATR. Consequently, this data provides information for belief that mutated TRAF6 is not sufficient for phosphorylation to occur in the presence of CDDP. Finally, a cellular fractionation assay for 293T wild type and mutant TRAF6 cells with or without CDDP treatment tested whether such mutation in the presence of genotoxic stress inhibits or promotes TRAF6 expression. As in the previous fractionation studies, tubulin and laminB were loading controls. These results concluded that the mutant displayed resistance to the CDDP mediated reduction of TRAF6 in the cytosol. Overall, these studies suggest that CDDP induces phosphorylation of TRAF6 in the cytosol, which may contribute to the reduction of K63 linked ubiquitination in the cytosol. The information provided thus far suggests that K63 linked ubiquitination of p53 is accomplished by TRAF6, which is hypothesized to suppress spontaneous apoptosis. • 22. Heating Ventilation And Air Conditioning Systems Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning Systems NT 131 Nuclear Facility Components Tyler Sandoval October 8, 2016 Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning system serves an important purpose in where we live or work. Whether we notice it or not it is providing us with clean air to inhale. Not only does the HVAC system provide us with fresh air, it also: maintains the flow of air to make sure certain areas are contamination free, eliminates contaminates before it is released to the atmosphere, protects equipment, and keeps us in a comfortable state. Air Flow Control Flow control is an important aspect of a ventilation system. The airflow scheme that is used allows separation between contaminated areas from non contaminated area. The way that airflow is controlled is by using high and low pressure areas. Since air moves from a high pressure to a low pressure it is important to keep a contaminated area at a lower pressure. When a contaminated area is set to a negative pressure it prevents air from the contaminated area from flowing into non contaminated area. The pressure of the contaminated area inside the building must always be lower than the pressure outside the building. When the pressure inside the contaminated area is lower than the pressure outside the building it helps prevent toxic air from being leaked out and released to the atmosphere. Once the leaking of air inside the building is prevented the air can go ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Mallard s Demise Louise Mallard s Demise in The Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin Kate Chopin s short story, The Story of an Hour , is about a woman, named Louise Mallard, in the late 1800s who is told that her husband, Brently, has died in a railroad accident. Initially, Louise is surprised, distressed, and drowned in sorrow. After mourning the loss, the woman realizes that she is finally free and independent, and that the only person she has to live for is herself. She becomes overwhelmed with joy about her new discovery of freedom, and dreams of all of the wonderful events in life that lie ahead of her. Louise s sister finally convinces her to leave her room and come back into reality. While Louise is walking down her steps, her husband surprisingly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Either way, it can be interpreted that the couple never saw each other before Louise died. Therefore, Louise Mallard may have simply passed away from a heart that was exhausted from her strong initial grief of losing her husband and her new adventurous excitement from gaining freedom (Cunningham 3). The unique ending of The Story of an Hour also contains some irony. During the 1800s, which is the time period that Chopin wrote this short story, men held more respect than women in society, and women were expected to be dependent upon a husband. A critic, Emily Toth, states that Chopin may have included Louise s death at the end of the story to please authors and editors because presenting that a woman may be able to happily live without a husband in the 1890s would be a fanatic idea (Cunningham 4). The multitude of conservative readers in the 1890s could interpret that Louise passed away because she was too independent, but the actual meaning of the death may have very well been because of Louise s joy from finally being dismissed from her husband s control. By using irony, Chopin was able to both please the critics of her time period, and prove a hidden point that women can find joy without a man. Over all, in The Story of an Hour , Kate Chopin leaves the meaning ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This shift has required physicians to adjust their payment strategies significantly to stay afloat. On top of this financial crunch, it is estimated that roughly 20% of commercial insurers inaccurately process claims. As reimbursement models and regulations continue to change, healthcare providers face unique challenges in collecting the money owed them. Han Feizi also says, Those who think they can take the ways of the ancient kings and use them to govern the people of today all belong in the category of stump watchers (Pg. 98)! This category that he is putting them in, I think is almost like the lowest of the low. Stump watchers are people who think something that happened one time will happen repeatedly. He just wants to put a modern way of thinking on the old. For the first time ever, your going to have to think about your future and what will be the best thing for you in the long run. Some of you already have an idea of what you see yourself doing in the future, but the rest of you may not have a clue what you want to be. When I was in your position, I was repeatedly asked What do you want to be in the future. I always responded back that I was not sure yet. What Are The Influence Of The Roman Bath And The Roman Baths Both the Roman Baths and the British Museum exemplified the dominating influence of the Roman and Greek empires in Britain s early history. However, even though both possess features of the Roman era, only the British Museum had Grecian elements in its galleries as well. The presence of both institutions highlight the imperial nature Britain adapted in arts, architecture, and foreign affairs due to the exposure to these two cultures. The Roman Baths was a public bath house where people went for bathing and socializing. It s well engineered system and beautiful structure made out to be a wonderful place for people to meet on a day to day business to catch up with current events and matters of the like. Unlike the Roman Baths, the British Museum is not a social hangout, but a public space where everyone can learn something from almost every continent through their treasures. There are sculptures, dishes, clocks, and many other exquisite pieces exhibited in the museum to represent the various cultures they come from. It s evident from various historical British locations that both the Romans and Greeks had a strong presence in Britain s early history. Around 70 AD, the Roman Baths were constructed by the Romans when they believed that the spring water was a gift from the Gods ( Roman Baths ). At this point in history, the Romans had already invaded Britain several years beforehand. Them building holy structures on British land is one of many occasions where they showcased a mentality that whatever they touched was theirs. An attitude that Britain would later adopt during the Age of Exploration. Similarly, the Parthenon statues in the British Museum commonly depicted images of power, strength, and beauty. The statues not only symbolized power by placing warriors on horses, but also by defining the muscles and bone structures of the subjects. It seemed as if there were two modes for the statues: Herculean stances or sensual poses that provoked godly features. Such idealistic images have had lasting impacts on art and architecture around the globe. For centuries on, we have had basic knowledge regarding electricity based upon static electricity found from rubbing amber and fur. The ions are then accelerated so that they have the same kinetic energy. These accelerated ions are then passed through a vacuum tube (remember mass to charge ratios), subjected with an electromagnetic field. Lighter ions will be deflected more and the more positively charged they are (less electrons / more electrons knocked off) the more they are deflected. One can alter the strength of the field to accommodate for the mass to charge ratio range needed to be detected. Accelerated ions which are still within the path of the tube are then captured by a detector which analyses the amount of ions carried through the ion beam. The vacuum tube where ions were accelerated through is called a mass analyser. The relationship between the accelerated ion beams and the electromagnetic field being subjected is best summarised through Newton s 2nd Law and Lorentz Force Law: F=ma F=q(E+V ×B) Where F = Force, m = mass of ions, a = acceleration, q = ionic charge, E = electric field and V x B = the vector cross product of the ion velocity and the applied magnetic field. When a charged particle is accelerated perpendicular to a magnetic field, it will curve, hence the deflection of ion beams in the mass analyser. This deflection can be best described as a centripetal force and the force applied on the charge can also be given by F = qv x B. Since the force is perpendicular, the magnitude of the ...
