Teenage Delinquency
The way parents rear their children to be well law obeying individuals can be affected if the parents
are not using their authority figure in the correct manner. The way people parent their children can
have a correlating effect on that child having criminal tendencies. When a parent is not emotional or
physically present a child might turn to delinquency because he/she has no authority figure that has
shown them to be responsible. Bad parenting can be defined in multiple ways whether it be by
neglecting the child, physically abusing them, and by not disciplining the child appropriately etc.
These bad parenting tactics can be the cause of the youth delinquency.
The problem being targeting is whether the way parents raise their child has an impact on the child
being a delinquent. An individual s parents are the first type of authority figures a child has and if the
parents are not demonstrating respectable parenting skills or requiring appropriate behavior from the
child, the child has the possibility of rearing to delinquency. This problem is significant because
negative parenting skills increase the risk of setting a child off on a delinquent path that starts in their
early years and can continue far into adulthood. This problem is also important because if bad
parenting is leading the youth to crime one can target the problem to prevent delinquency. It is thus
important for the parents to evaluate their parenting skills and find resources to better their education

Chemical Reactivity Lab Report
One discrepancy that has to be explained would be for Part F(Chemical Reactivity
Of Some Representative Elements), question 3 is we failed to obtain a result because time ran out
before we could complete the experiment. However, based on my research, the calcium hydroxide salt
would be more soluble than the magnesium hydroxide salt because the calcium is more reactive than
magnesium. This is because calcium has 20 electrons thus, an electronic configuration of 2.8.8.2.
However, magnesium has 12 electrons thus, an electronic configuration of 2.8.2 . In other words,
calcium has four electron shells but magnesium has three making it easier for calcium to lose an
electron as the distance between the nucleus and the electrons in calcium is further ... Show more

Thus, Chlorine would be the most electronegative, followed by Bromine and finally Iodine. Plus, a
higher halogen will be able to displace a lower halogen from its halide solution. The next concept is
the reaction between an alkali metal and water, specifically sodium metal and water. Before the
reaction, the sodium metal was stored in kerosene to prevent it from reacting with the moisture or
oxygen that is in the air. This is because sodium is a very reactive metal and will easily react with the
moisture present in the air to form sodium hydroxide. This is an extremely strong exothermic reaction
and a lot of heat is generated. Moving on, when sodium is placed into a test tube containing water and
phenolphtalein, a vigorous reaction takes place where sodium hydroxide along with hydrogen gas is
formed. The presence of the sodium hydroxide can confirmed by the change in color of the
phenolpthalein to pink while the presence of the hydrogen gas can be confirmed by placing a glowing
wooden splinter into the test tube and hearing a pop sound.
The last concept is comparing the reactivity of metals specifically magnesium and

Pleasantville Biblical Refrences Essay
The movie Pleasantville (Produced and directed by Gary Ross in 1988) is more than just your ordinary
film. Pleasantville sends a message within a message. Not only is it a great film, (made popular by
New Line Cinema) it contains numerous biblical references. Some of the biblical references in this
film may be easier to see and understand than others. But when asked to analyze this film and critique
the biblical references you will understand just how many there are.
To me the most obvious relation to the bible is in a scene where the main character David (Tobey
Maguire) is the first to see a fire that breaks out in a tree in his front yard. Ironically enough, the tree is
on fire, but is not consumed by the flames, it s burning but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The serpent eventually persuades Eve to eat from the Tree of Knowledge . After she eats from it, she
has Adam eat from it. Shortly after, they finally notice they are naked and become self conscious and
cover up. God then asks about what they have done and Eve blames Adam, while Adam blames the
Serpent. God curses them, and makes Eve suffer through labor and banishes both of them from the
Garden of Eden. The relation in the movies comes from a scene in the end involving David and
another girl from his school. Color starts to fill Pleasantville, and the girl he is sitting with in the lawn
gets up and grabs a fruit of off the tree, and then she hands the fruit to David to eat, much like Eve did
with Adam. As soon as they ate the fruit, it started to rain in Pleasantville for the first time ever,
symbolizing God s anger, and color now completely filled Pleasantville. The discovery in books also
reminds me of the Tree of Knowledge of good and evil , the books being good, and the reading of
them being evil because it made people curious to as what else was out in the real world. Therefore
there is an effect in both cases, the biblical one, and also the movie.
Pleasantville, (before David and Jennifer) is a dream world if you will, everyone is always happy and
there are never any conflicts with anyone. Once the two of them arrive however, everything changes.
In Pleasantville everything is black and white, but after Jennifer has sex

Eagle Scout Custom Essay
Eagle Scout Custom A cultural custom in the area where I live is for a young man to earn the Eagle
Scout Award. There are many reasons why this is a cultural custom. While the young man earns this
award, he learns to be a leader, learns to give service, and learns various skills he will use for the rest
of his life. A young man is strongly encouraged to earn the Eagle Scout Award and many resources are
made available to assist him. There are also many lifelong benefits for earning the Eagle Scout Award.
Throughout the years that it takes a young man to earn the Eagle Scout Award, the young man learns
many aspects of leadership including planning, setting goals, leading others, measuring progress, and
completing tasks. During this process a young man learns that many others have assisted him, and that
he can pay it forward by assisting others. A scout is taught, and expected, to do a good turn daily.
There are many skills a young man learns as he works toward the Eagle Scout Award. He learns to

Jackie O Working Girl And The Despair Of Jackie Kennedy
November 22, 1963. This is the date that Jacqueline (Jackie) Kennedy Onassis forever lost her
husband, John F. Kennedy (JFK). After this tragedy, also remarrying and losing that husband as well,
Jackie found fulfillment in becoming a book editor shown in Jackie O, Working Girl (Lawrence). Not
only does Jackie O, Working Girl shows how Jackie became a book editor, it also tells women
working is not a bad thing. On the other hand, The Despair of Jackie Kennedy delves deep into the
details of her mourning over the death of her husband. Other than these two articles talking about
Jackie Kennedy, the only other similarity these articles share is they both use some of the same
rhetorical strategies: purpose, tone, and audience selection. Although their methods in using purpose,
tone, and guiding an audience however is completely different. To begin, the purpose of the articles
Jackie O, Working Girl and The Despair of Jackie Kennedy is considerably contrary. The purpose of
Jackie O, Working Girl is not only to tell about how Jackie became a book editor, it also shows
women that it is okay to work even when they do not need to. Jackie became a book editor not
because she needed the money, but because it was something for her to do (Lawrence). Jackie
described in an interview why she chose to work. Lawrence wrote that Jackie said, what has been sad
for many women of my generation is that they weren t supposed to work if they had families. There
they were, with the highest education, and what were they to do when the children were grown watch
the raindrops coming down the window pane? Leave their fine minds unexercised? Of course, women
should work if they want to. You have to do something you enjoy. Women may not need to work, but
what else is there to do when everything has already been finished? The purpose of The Despair of
Jackie Kennedy is to inform people of the true events on how Jackie dealt with her husband s
assassination, and the toll it took on her. Jackie couldn t stop obsessing over how she could have
prevented JFK s assassination. She would run the scenarios over and over again in her head if only she
recognized the sound of the first gunshot, if only she pulled him down into the car,

Thesis For Mending Wall
Is there an object in your life that brings you and a friend together? In Mending Wall written by
Robert Frost, two neighbors come together every year to repair the wall that divides their property.
They do not have any livestock to keep off of each others property but they still come together every
year. They say that it keeps them staying up in each others lives and help to maintain their friendship.
The narrator of this poem is trying to convince these two that there is no point in this wall because it is
not keeping anything off of each others property. The neighbors try to convince them otherwise.
Finding common ground between two people helps build strong relationships. The author shows this
by the dialogue between the narrator and the neighbors, the symbol of the wall, and third idea. In this
poem, the main characters, the neighbors, are in a constant battle with the narrator. They try explaining
to the narrator how this wall has brought them together. It allows them to stay up in each others lives
and keep their friendship stable. The neighbors share with the narrator that this wall is not pointless.

The Guildsmen In The Canterbury Tales
The Guildsmen of The Canterbury Tales
Step 1 Prewriting: The Guildsmen were a group of men a part of a labor union. The carpenter, the
weaver, the haberdasher, the dyer, and the carpet maker all traveled together due to their similar
trades. They did this so they could increase the prices of their good. These men were all very
successful in their respective trades. The men dressed in very fancy attire. The Guildsmen were also
very proud of how well they treated their wives.
Step 2 Prewriting: There was only one word from the textbook that I did not understand. The word is
dais, which means seats of honor, or a throne.
The Canterbury Tales is a group of stories about a variety of people who went on a pilgrimage to
Canterbury to see ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They not only dressed out themselves and their wives, but also their horses. Do not be mistaken, not
all craftsmen behaved in this manner. Some craftsmen were monks! A monk named Bertinus lived in a
monastery, devoting himself to work, prayer and study (Price 14). The Guildsmen that Chaucer wrote
about were very boastful and showy with their wealth, but not all craftsmen were like that.
There is not much to infer from the Guildsmen, due to Chaucer not getting to their stories before his
passing. But based upon how they boast their wealth, we can assume that they were stuck up in some
manners. As previously stated, they showed off their wealth with silver knives and fancy pouches and
girdles to the other merchants and craftsmen. They completely spoiled their wives as well.
The Guildsmen were all in livery (Chaucer 153). They dressed in clothing associated with their trade.
Back then, craftsmen all wore a certain type of uniform based on their craft. Kind of similar to the way
jobs wear certain uniforms. For example, at the UPS Store the standard uniform is a collared shirt,
either brown in light green, with khaki pants.
Based on the information of the Guildsmen, we can infer that these men either rode on horse or buggy.
We can also infer that the horses or buggy were welled dressed up to show off their wealth! Horses
were basically a necessity during this time period. They were the only form of

Analysis Of Geoffrey B. Small Is Big On Quality,...
Case Study 1.2 Geoffrey B. Small is Big on Quality, Customers, Community is about a leading
fashion designer that does not want his customers to think about the brand name, color, style or price
of the fabrics they wear. Small s wants his customers to be thinking about the quality and origins of
the fabrics you wear, their impact on the environment, and your own view of social responsibility as a
customer. Even if the customer cannot afford his clothing he wants them to understand his mission as
a designer. Small is based in Italy, first selling his jeans at GAP in Boston. He wants his Customers to
realize how much they are actually spending on cheap clothing. People who buy cheap clothes are
actually spending more money because the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The large corporations might learn that his different marketing tactics work and draw in more
customers.
The utility that Small provides for his customers is the fact that this clothing will last for so many
years. This allows the customers to save their money. They will not longer have to go buy new clothes
as often. The high price reflects another good thing about Small s clothes, the fabric will be
environment friendly and will not fade or shrink like the cheaper clothing items. The price creates the
highest quality clothing. He makes it easy for customers to buy from his brand again.
The era of marketing history that best matches the marketing philosophy created by Small is the
relationship era. The relationship era focuses on developing long term valued relationship with
customers. In the text it says, Small views his relationship with his customers as critical to his success,
referring to them as the best and only financial backers a designer should have. That s proof that the
relationship marketing technique works.
Social causes that impact the customer relationships would be that Small is trying to make things
environmental friendly. Its important to people that the environment is protected as much as possible.
It might sound odd that a clothing designer can help the environment but the fabrics used are
important. Some fashion designers will use fur for example and they receive

Louisiana Purchase Importance
Importance of the Louisiana Purchase
The Decisions made to buy the Louisiana Purchase were tough; however, in the end the Louisiana
Purchase was the most important land purchase in American history. In 1803 the United States had
seventeen states along with the Northwest Territory. America still had not reached its potential growth,
even though the states were still growing with settlers, until after the Louisiana Purchase. The
president at this time was Thomas Jefferson. Jefferson s decision would soon be the birth of our
nation, as well as be the largest land purchase in American history.
The port of New Orleans was controlled by France. France eventually gave over the rights to Spain.
Spain didn t want a vast majority of new settlers coming into the land, so Spain closed New Orleans
and the lower part of the Mississippi to any foreigners. Spain eventually gave the rights of navigation
and exploration of the land and New Orleans Port over to the Americans. France soon gained a new
leader by the name of Napoleon Bonaparte. Napoleon was a powerful tiny man who took over a vast
majority of land in Europe. Spain gave the Louisiana territory to Napoleon, because of the gigantic
size of the property.
Jefferson was troubled by the fact of France owning the land, because it might scare people away to
settle in the land. In response James Monroe was sent to France along with Robert Livingston to
negotiate a trade for the New Orleans territory. Jefferson limited the cost to $10

A Summary OfThe Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe
The White Witch
The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe (Lewis, 1978) has many biblical connections. However the one
that stuck out the most was the White Witch being the representation of Satan. This imagery is seen in
her history, her presence, and the weapons she uses.
The White Witch has a history seen very shortly in The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe (Lewis,
1978). In the book, the White Witch prefers to be called Jadis Queen of Narnia (Lewis, 1978, p 64)
Jadis means long ago, of old or witch (Campbell, n.d. ). So, the name she prefers means the witch
from long ago. She has a big ego, however her true name is Lilith. C.S. Lewis took the tale of Lilith,
the first wife of Adam who rebelled (The Story of Lilith, n.d.), and planted her in his story. In his
story, however, she is a bit different. Jadis is part Jinn and part giant (Lewis, 1978, p 88). A jinn is a
type of demon so her type of species can be put together to mean a giant demon. So the big demon is
implying that biggest bad which is Satan. Lilith also comes into the story as the emperor s hangman,
You know that every traitor belongs to me as my lawful prey and that for every treachery I have a
right to a kill. (Lewis, 1978, p ?). In the story, she was given this job because she was the first person
to betray the emperor . This role is a representation of Satan, as those who betray and turn away from
God go to Satan. Once you are with Satan everything seems better but then the truth behind the beauty
is

examining the research findings and analysis it is fair to say that evidence determines that Sun
Microsystems finances has not been on a steady incline. In fact, it had definitely experienced some
highs and lows in its return on investment and stockholders? In order to get a concise understanding of
where problems are within the company s operations the following factors were considered and

Is there any dramatic shift in the ratios worthy of note?
There was not a dramatic shift in the ratios between the years of 1998 to 2000. There was however a
dramatic shift between 2000 and 2001. The ratio of price decreased by more than 50% along with the
stock price even though the book values per share increased.
In Conclusion, looking at the financial statement analysis for Sun Microsystems one can definitely see
the company s strengths and their needs. The balance sheet indicates what the firm owns and how
these assets are financed in the form of liabilities or ownership interest and the statement of income is
the major device for measuring the profitability of a firm over time
Sun Microsystems needs to implement a new plan quickly to save its company from going under as its
stockholders equity continues to decrease. It has experienced a decline in its net income between 2000
and 2001. Not all changes were specific to Sun Microsystems. Some of these changes were industry
wide. If Sun Microsystems was to outsource some of its employees it can save money appealing to its
stockholders. Consequently, outsourcing will allow for more emphasis and focus on product
development, which can ultimately increase revenue. Sun Microsystems should consider bringing in a
consulting firm to take a look at its current business plan. Potentially, by doing so, the consulting firm
can sift through

Theme Of Allegory In A Rose For Emily
Raymond Carter once said, It s possible, in a poem or short story, to write about commonplace things
and objects using commonplace but precise language, and to endow those things a chair, a window
curtain, a fork, a stone, a woman s earring with immense, even startling power. A Rose for Emily , a
satire, exposes the life of the Old South and development of the allegory through the characters. Each
representing an allegorical representation of different political aspects within the South and their
loyalty to their tradition. The life of the Old South ended abruptly when Miss Emily died because she
is an allegorical representation of the Old South and her death signifies the end of it. Miss Emily is
metaphorically referred to as a fallen monument by the narrator which reveals the judgmental and
distasteful tone that alludes to the importance of tradition; which in this case is her father who had
robbed her free will by driving away all the bachelors to maintain her honor. Members of the
community including the narrator believed Miss Emily had betrayed her father and them by dating
Homer Barron who was a northerner. Her relationship with Homer Barron, represents reunion of the
Confederate States/ Old South with the rest of America/ the North and their submission the members
in the society thought that grief could not cause a real lady to forget noblesse oblige typifies the
southerners reaction to the outcome of the civil war and their disappointment, they did

Understanding Military Culture
There are major changes that have transformed the military from the old force which was seen to
focus only on winning battles without caring much about their forces to the highly skilled force it is
today that is all rounded. In order to comprehend the changes in the military there is need for
understanding the military culture. Like any other culture, military culture has evolved from
unorganized forms of administration and organization to the current modern force it is today. There
are different viewpoints on military culture and understanding it requires delving in their systems.
Explanation of military culture has two dimensions; one, the actual service where the force is required
to interact with others while serving and two, the personal life of the veteran and the life off the
military environment.
The picture that explains best about the need to understand military culture is the citizen solder that
serves for a few years and is not likely to return t active duty but associates with the military though
totally disengaged. The lives of military in active service and the veteran are different but swayed by
the same forces, the military culture. Therefore, there is need to understand the military structure and
basic military culture tenets and its elements such as missions, core values and ideals. This paper
seeks to illustrate the importance of military culture training, its foundations and its effects both
locally and internationally.

An American Soldier in World War I
An American Soldier in World War I is written by Liberty professor David L. Snead. It tells the story
of a soldier and his fiancé relationship through World War I through letters they wrote one another.
Professor Snead was introduced to the letters by a student of his Page Waugh. They were letters from
her uncle to her aunt and with permission from her family he combines the letters and historical
context to write a book about Browne, Marty and the war. The thesis of this book seems to be seeing
the war through the eyes of a soldier in the middle of a vicious war and the relationship that sees him
through it. George Browne and Martha Marty Johnson are two people making the best out of a tough
situation and their undying love and commit ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Browne writes less but his letters are much more descriptive of deficiencies in the AEF S training
program and problem the soldiers face. From Browne description the crossing of the Atlantic Ocean
was a very horrible trip, and once they arrived they were but on trains to but according to Browne
letter the train trip was no better than the boat trip. According to the author, The boat was heaven
compared to the train. We ate hard tack and canned meat and never washed or shaved or slept. (Snead
2006, 38) In chapter 3 Browne talks a lot about the battles the group is now fighting and the woes or
war. But also in this chapter he speaks of the war and the distance from Marty and how he feels like
something is different in their relationship. Browne knows the infrequency of letters and not quickly
responding back to her but he assures her he still loves her and enjoys her letter, it s just a mean
disposition he has because of the war. Browne tells Marty, I love you always only it s hard to tell
about it in miserable weather when one is living in a barn and usually tired out from marching thru
mud. (Snead 2006, 83) In chapter 4 Browne and the 42nd dough boys are now in Champagne, France
and are in heavy combat constantly. He writes of how the Germans are attaching and the Allies are
taking heavy lost. The campaign in Champagne brought the war home full force, the lost was great.
The author states, The 42nd

Immunotherapy Essay
Immunotherapy
Immunotherapy has been on an upward trend in cancer treatments recently. By activating the body s
own immune system, immunotherapy puts to use the body s own powerful anticancer mechanisms to
achieve a response against the cancerous cells. Most of the current cancer treatments are non specific
immunotherapy, meaning that they boost the immune system in a more general way and act by
blocking antibodies and T cell receptors. On the other hand, specific immunotherapy targets tumor
antigens on cancer cells. One type of specific immunotherapy is the cancer treatment vaccine. Cancer
treatment vaccines are slightly different from preventative vaccines since they attempt to get the
immune system to attack against the already existing cancer cells in the body. Some cancer vaccines
consist of cancer cells, parts of cells, or pure antigens. However, other ... Show more content on

The ready vaccine is injected into the patient. Vaccines are often combined with other substances or
cells, known as adjuvants, that help boost the immune response even further. They also cause the
immune system to attack cells with one or more specific antigens. Because the immune system has
special cells for memory, it s hoped that the vaccine might continue to work long after it s given.
Major Histocompatibility Complex, Antigens, and T cells
Humans and other vertebrates have adaptive, or specific immunity, which involves the use of T cells
and B cells, classes of white blood cells known as lymphocytes. An antigen is any substance that
causes a response from the T cells or B cells; the binding site of the antigen is called an epitope. While
helper T cells secrete cytokines to promote response, cytotoxic T cells employ toxic proteins to attack
and kill cells infected by virus or pathogens from within the cell itself.

Chimera Cather s The Lightning Thief
Books are often the inspiration to well known movies. However, people who love to dwell in a book
find themselves frustrated while watching the movie verse. When people read the book, they create
their own little movie in their minds. People use their imagination to make sense of many parts of the
book. When they watch the movie they are often disappointed since it doesn t match their
expectations. Books can easily project ideas to the reader that movies cannot. It is difficult for a movie
to follow a book precisely because it would be too much to sit through and watch. Therefore many
scenes are cut off. Scenes that is easy to imagine but hard showing. Connecting this description to the

Percy frees his friends, and chops Procrustes head off. Another challenge was in chapter 18, where
they meet Cerberus, the three headed guard dog of the Underworld. The three friends reach

dog, Annabeth started playing fetch with Cerberus knowing that would distract it while they enter to

ball she stole from a gift store... Cerberus doesn t get to play very much as he guards the entrance to
Hades, watching dead people walk around him all day. Annabeth plays fetch with Cerberus, until she
throws the ball very distant to give them time to cross the gate. These were the extra obstacles the
three had to face. Scenes like these are easy to imagine in the mind, however, they would be hard to
show in screen. If the director were to involve such scenes in the movie, it would mean more running
time, more actors, more locations, and it would cost more money. In order to not take the burden it
was decided to not include such scenes. The downside of that idea is that, these specific scenes would
have made the movie much more interesting. Sure it would be a lot to sit through but viewers would
enjoy watching the action. There are many things to consider while making a movie, which is why it

Mass Extinction And Its Effects On The World Essay
Earth is currently going thru its sixth mass extinction. This past decade earth has been going thru the
worst loss of species since the dinosaurs age millions and millions of years ago. Scientists say this is
like nothing earth has experienced before. Past mass extinctions have occurred because of natural
causes but this mass extinction, humans are to blame.
Many people believe that The Earth s sixth mass extinction is already underway. They also believe
that climate change or volcano eruptions is to blame for this problem, which is true but many people
don t know that is Hunting or better known as poaching is a huge part of Mass Extinction. Hunters or
better known as Sportsmen usually think of it as a reward or a privilege to shoot animals. Its more
popular than ever to hunt rare animals. Shooting rare animals is looked at as a sport, most Sportsmen

also known as the worst times for the wildlife species in North America. Hunting has led to the

promote awareness against sore throat caused by Group A Streptococcus which complicates to
rheumatic fever. It is known that Acute Rheumatic Fever (ARF) is serious yet a preventable illness.
The campaign is dedicated to reduce the incidence among children and aims to create national
consciousness on the importance of early prevention, treatment and the facts about rheumatic fever
that may possibly result to heart damage.
In New Zealand, ARF has been significantly increasing. It is alarming as ARF is considered an evident
indicator of child poverty and ill health (Sharpe, 2012). The cases of ARF doubled from 1.9 per 100
000 to 3.8 per 100 000 from 2005 to 2010 (Lowe, L., Miller, J., Sharpe, N., 2011).
It is vital that the problem with ARF be addressed as its rates have constantly failed to decrease and
thus remain as one of the highest reported third world diseases in a highly developed country such as
New Zealand (Masters, 2009). According to Dr. Coleman, Minister of Health, in his media statement
on ARF last May 1, 2016, he claimed that the campaign aims to decrease the cases of ARF by two
thirds by June 2017. Different intervention techniques were used to pursue the objectives of the
campaign such as school throat swabbing, health education, community exposure to lowly deprived
areas, media advertisements and promotions. Young children susceptible to ARF and

Deforestation In Iowa
Iowa is synonymous with farmland. The name alone evokes images of cattle and a tractor plowing a
field of corn. This is, however, a relatively new condition for the state since until its development a
couple centuries ago, Iowa was covered in prairie and woodland. The rich soil that now enables Iowa
to produce so much corn and soybeans only became rich because it grew undisturbed for thousands of
years. This gave the land time to develop a network of trees, helping to retain minerals and bind the
sediment together, creating nutrient rich, compact soil. With the recent increase in deforestation,
however, Iowa s fertility is in jeopardy. During the past five years alone, ninety seven thousand acres,
or 11%, of the state s total forests have been

Masculinity In Medea
Throughout the Greek tragedy Medea, many characters have acted in a way that proves Foucault s
idea that power controls us. Medea lacks true freedom and the men in this Greek tragedy say that
being a woman is easy, but it s very challenging. Medea attempts to play the role of men and performs
traditional roles of masculinity, but cannot fully fulfill the role because of her status as a woman.
Foucault would consider Medea to be mimicking the same power elimination that Jason did. He was
able to get the trust of Medea, by allowing her to slave the dragon, and deceive her father. Once, he
got her trust he then betrayed her. Medea s revenge is dictated by a masculine regime of truth.
Medea being under a particular regime of truth that is incredibly masculine allows her anger to turn
into revenge and her want for power causes her to think about death. She does not know any other
way; she has learned that this tactic is how you gain power. She says, for I shall kill the children, my
own ones (22). The death of her children becomes symbolic of revenge. The boys are a clear
representation of Medea and Jason s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While Jason thinks he has so much power he ultimately underestimates the power of Medea.
Throughout the novel Medea s goal was to gain power, but Foucault would view Medea as having not

powerful, and he deserved that. Furnished oars for the hands of those heroic men who went to win the
Golden Fleece for Pelias (1). A dragon guarded the fleece and Medea helped Jason retrieve it with her
so called magic . In the eyes of Foucault it could be seen that by baring her children Medea
accomplished the equivalent of Jason retrieving the Golden Fleece. Although, while Jason achieves
real tangible power with fleece in the beginning Medea s power in the end in

The Relationship Between Export Processing Zones
Export Processing Zones

Introduction
The relationship between Export Processing Zones (EPZs) and globalization, Neoliberalism, global
governing institutions and the 1980s debt crisis has attracted a lot of debate in the economic circles. It
is widely believed that EPZs have helped in the development of the globalization project. Economists
believe that the rise and growth of EPZs was enabled by the neoliberal strategies that global governing
institutions such as the World Bank and the IMF instituted after the 1980s debt crisis in Latin America.
In his book titled Development and Social Change , McMichael deals with critical events that led to
globalization. These include Neoliberalism, the debt crisis and the rise of export processing zones.
This paper will investigate these interrelationships and conclude that there is a key relationship
between EPZ and the globalization project, and the rise and growth of the EPZ with the neoliberal
actions of key global governing institutions especially after the 1980s debt crisis.
EPZ and the Growth of the Globalization Project. Globalization is the process through which the
world is becoming increasingly interconnected due to massive increase in cultural exchanges and
trade. It has increased production of services and goods and their movement from one part of the
world to another. Due to globalization, companies now operate in multiple countries. There is freer
movement of goods, services and

Overcoming Stage Fright Research Paper
Overcoming stage fright was very difficult. I always hated singing and dancing in front of people. As a
kid I like singing and dancing.I would could find myself when I signing it was amazing to express my
self through my voice. In the beginning I was afraid to sing and dance in front of people. One day at
school there was an announcement that there would be a school play. I got so excited about it that I
rushed to sign up. I realized that I would have to audition and that meant I would have to sing in front
of other people.I bolted to Mr.Llyod s room and asked him what I would need to not be so afraid. He
said to sing in front of my parents,it might make you fell more comfortable performing for others.
After hearing him say that I went home and looked up some more ways to help overcome my stage
fright. So through that period of time I found ways to relax myself with deep breathing and
meditation. I did this a couple of times during the day. Then after doing that I asked my parents to go
the living room so I could sing for them. Before I started, I began breath very deeply and smoothly
.Then someone came in and I got scared again.Soon after that person left,I started to sing and in that
moment my mind went wild.I was thinking they didn t like me singing and in an instantly I stop and

Correlation Between Earnings And Share Prices Essay
Question 1
The diagram illustrates the studies by Beaver, Clarke and Wright (1979) and Foster, Olsen and Shevlin
(1984). The studies are based on the Ball Brown study regarding the relationship between earnings
and share prices. This diagram shows that the size and sign of unexpected Earnings per Share (EPS) is
related to the sign and size of cumulative Abnormal Return (AR).
The graph represents the portfolio in ranking order based on the forecast error and EPS. There are 10
portfolios in which the first portfolio has the most negative forecast error and EPS while the tenth
portfolio has the most positive forecast error and EPS. This means that Portfolio 1 is the worst
performing firm in regarding the earnings (most negative share price reaction) while Portfolio 10 is
the best performing firm (most positive share price reaction). Based on the fourth and fifth portfolio,
the share reaction is very small. The negative abnormal return in portfolio 4 is pretty much negligible
and the same can be said in portfolio 5 where there is only a slight positive share price reaction. This
is due to the fact that the information is not too much of a surprise for the shareholders to react hugely.
Therefore, it can be said that from portfolio 1 to 4, they are the bad news firms while portfolio 5 to 10
are the good news firms.
In conclusion, the hypothesis made by the studies is proven to be correct. The firm with the most
negative forecast error and EPS has the most negative AR and

Gender In Victorianism

Victorianism
Victorianism is the cultural influence orchestrated by the reign of Queen Victoria from the year 1837
to the year 1901. The dominant notions of these times were moralizing, prudish, repressed and old
fashion, as opposed to traditional. The above elements of culture traversed across the English society
to other parts of America, influencing how people dressed and celebrated. The central ideas of
Victorianism emerged during the period of early Victorianism. Significant developments during this
period included science, economics, and social lifestyle. In terms of politics, there was the
introduction of democracy and parliamentary system of governance. This was also the time that the
Anglicanism, through the Church of England stroke a balance with other Catholic communities. The
dominant social values during the period of Victorianism were patriarchal families and well defined
roles of mothers and fathers.
Construction of gender during Victorianism. Prior to the Victorianism period, the roles of men and
women had no specific definition. Victorianism brought a sharp definition of gender roles with father
specializing in specific tasks different from mothers. Formerly, the women and men could easily work
alongside each other. During the onset of Victorianism, many men got into formal employment that
entailed traveling long distances to work in different professions. Men left behind their wives at home

Comparison Between Roman And Modern Era
From calculating digital computations to setting the foundation of modern applications, the number
system is more relevant in life and culture than most people realize. For example, people use the
number system to organize sections and chapters from literature, keep financial affairs orderly and
neatly, and compute numerous types of everyday costs. Also, it dictates how modern applications
function and how programming languages work seamlessly. Despite these incredible
accomplishments, the world would lack all knowledge of it were it not for ancient number systems.
These systems include three of the most famous ones in the world: Roman numerals, Mayan numerals,
and Egyptian numerals. Through innovation, technology, and ingenuity, ancient ... Show more content

For example: IV = 4, IX = 9, XXXIV = 34, CIX = 109, CD = 400, and MCMIV = 1904. The key to
handling this exception is to subtract the digit ahead of the power from the numeral itself [4].
Now that the basic numbers and rules have been covered, the arithmetic for addition, subtraction,
multiplication, and division can be understood. To calculate addition, one must first rewrite the
numbers to arrange them in descending order after putting them together. Next, one must learn to
ignore the subtractive system and write out individual numbers when appropriate. For example: 4 =
IIII, 9 = VIIII, 34 = XXXIIII; but 3 still equals III, 6 still equals VI, and 37 still equals XXXVII.
Third, evaluating in ascending order, one must rewrite trailing I digits into a simplified version.
Finally, any further required simplification is performed. To demonstrate this, consider two numbers in
addition, 13 + 66. The numbers are written side by side (XIII + LXVI), then put together in
descending order (LXXVIIII). The four trailing I digits are rewritten as IV, and this number is
rewritten as LXXVIV. The last three digits, the VIV, is equivalent to IX (9), so the number is rewritten
one final time as LXXIX (79).
For subtraction, one must borrow numbers by marking out common symbols in the second number.
For example, LXVIII XII (68 12) =

Morality After World War 2 Essay
this as morally wrong, because she viewed this action as her duty, which she could not refuse (Lower,
153). Moreover, party leaders seemed to rely on individual s sense of emulous nature, in addition to
their sense of duty. Once again, Lower recounts another individual s recollection of her experience
during the war:
I seldom came into contact with other women, so that in the course of this time I became more
hardened, desensitized. I did not want to stand behind the SS men. I wanted to show them that I, as a
woman, could conduct myself like a man. So I shot four Jews and six Jewish children. I wanted to
prove myself to the men (Lower, 155).
While it may seem incomprehensible to us now, as it certainly is to me, the extent to which individuals
are capable and willing to commit unspeakable acts against their fellow human beings can be
understood by the enormous influence of authority and their misuse of human traits.

Socialization Reflection
Our views and behavior depend to some degree on our social location in society our gender, race,
social class, religion, and so forth. (Barkan, 2013). As I have grown up and my perspective of the
world has broadened I have realized how narrow my views were. I grew up in Germany, Italy, and
Hungary before moving to the USA, but because I was so sheltered I really didn t know what was
really happening in society. As I grew older I have come to realize the socialization process did help
me develop my values, beliefs, morals, my religious outlook, my political affiliations and what not.
A1 Socialization Paper
As a baby we aren t born with culture. The people who are responsible for our socialization are our
parents and others who we might associate with...teachers, friends, etc. As a very small child we learn
about the culture we were born in as well as our gender roles. Depending on some cultures women for
example are taught that they will be homemakers and do a large share of work. In my culture I learned
my future role which would be a daughter, friend, sister, a wife in the future possibly, and then maybe
a mother. This is also the time we learn what society expects of us; the norms per say. This is also the
time in our lives that our personality forms. While our personality has much to do with our upbringing
and genes it also is created by the culture we are in. Research in geographical sciences has shown
regional variation on a number of indicators including public

Wood Thrush Populations
The paper explicitly outlined the four key questions, asking (1) Is there evidence that asymmetrical
dispersal and therefore source sink dynamics occur consistently over time between pairs of Wood
Thrush populations? And if so (2), over what distance(s) does this occur? (3) Do identified sources
occur in areas with more habitat than their dependent sinks? And (4), are source sink dynamics
clustered in any particular part of the species range? (Tittler, Fahrig Villard 2006, p. 2)
Identifying key words, in this case posit , helps identify the hypothesis quickly.
We posit that, when dispersal occurs from a source to a sink year after year, there will be a one year
time lagged correlation in abundance between the two populations
(Tittler, Fahrig Villard 2006, p. 1).
The authors often restate their hypothesis multiple times to clarify to readers the intent of their
research. In other words, a decline in abundance in the source population in one year will result in a
decline in the sink population in the following year, as a smaller source population produces fewer

Advantages Of Self-Driving Car
Should Self Driving Cars Become a Normal Method of Transportation?
Through improvements of technology during the 21st century, new inventions to the modern day car
have been applied and the future has arrived. The self driving car facilitates the idea that humans don t
have to drive the car, but rather the car can drive itself. The cars recently debuted after being a concept
in the making for several years. One example of the car in the making is Tesla, a car producing
company, that initiated a test run of these cars calling the setting, autopilot (Source 3). The setting
allowed the driver to sit back and relax as the car attempted to drive without assistance. The self
driving car should be a normal mode of transportation because they reduce accidents, are accessible to
all ages, and are cost efficient. Self driving cars prevent accidents by reacting to stimuli faster than
humans. Associated Press writes, The system can brake when it spots obstacles and keep cars in lanes.
(Source 3) The cars can sense and save one when falling asleep from a long road trip or simply a night
out. Furthermore, less accidents result in less traffic, which will result in decongested roads. The ...

Despite the growing demand for organic wheat and oats, a limited amount of research has been
undertaken to solve challenges faced by organic producers. Because crop plants cannot be protected
by conventional pesticides under organic standards, the development of crop varieties with the ability
to compete against weeds and resist infection from disease is extremely important. In reality, the
choice of variety is more crucial in organic than in conventional agriculture since synthetic herbicides
and protectants cannot be used. Only limited efforts have been made to breed small grain crop
varieties specifically for organic farming (Wolfe et al., 2008), even though it has been shown that in
order to optimize performance varieties should be bred specifically for organic management if the goal
is to optimize performance (Baenziger et al., 2011). As a result, organic producers are forced to choose
varieties that were developed and optimized for conventional farming and have limited access to
information on optimal management practices.
This project is expected to produce new varieties of spring wheat, winter wheat, and oat with
improved productivity and end use quality under organic management. The project will also provide
new practical advice for organic producers about small

  • 2. Teenage Delinquency The way parents rear their children to be well law obeying individuals can be affected if the parents are not using their authority figure in the correct manner. The way people parent their children can have a correlating effect on that child having criminal tendencies. When a parent is not emotional or physically present a child might turn to delinquency because he/she has no authority figure that has shown them to be responsible. Bad parenting can be defined in multiple ways whether it be by neglecting the child, physically abusing them, and by not disciplining the child appropriately etc. These bad parenting tactics can be the cause of the youth delinquency. The problem being targeting is whether the way parents raise their child has an impact on the child being a delinquent. An individual s parents are the first type of authority figures a child has and if the parents are not demonstrating respectable parenting skills or requiring appropriate behavior from the child, the child has the possibility of rearing to delinquency. This problem is significant because negative parenting skills increase the risk of setting a child off on a delinquent path that starts in their early years and can continue far into adulthood. This problem is also important because if bad parenting is leading the youth to crime one can target the problem to prevent delinquency. It is thus important for the parents to evaluate their parenting skills and find resources to better their education and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Chemical Reactivity Lab Report One discrepancy that has to be explained would be for Part F(Chemical Reactivity Of Some Representative Elements), question 3 is we failed to obtain a result because time ran out before we could complete the experiment. However, based on my research, the calcium hydroxide salt would be more soluble than the magnesium hydroxide salt because the calcium is more reactive than magnesium. This is because calcium has 20 electrons thus, an electronic configuration of 2.8.8.2. However, magnesium has 12 electrons thus, an electronic configuration of 2.8.2 . In other words, calcium has four electron shells but magnesium has three making it easier for calcium to lose an electron as the distance between the nucleus and the electrons in calcium is further ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thus, Chlorine would be the most electronegative, followed by Bromine and finally Iodine. Plus, a higher halogen will be able to displace a lower halogen from its halide solution. The next concept is the reaction between an alkali metal and water, specifically sodium metal and water. Before the reaction, the sodium metal was stored in kerosene to prevent it from reacting with the moisture or oxygen that is in the air. This is because sodium is a very reactive metal and will easily react with the moisture present in the air to form sodium hydroxide. This is an extremely strong exothermic reaction and a lot of heat is generated. Moving on, when sodium is placed into a test tube containing water and phenolphtalein, a vigorous reaction takes place where sodium hydroxide along with hydrogen gas is formed. The presence of the sodium hydroxide can confirmed by the change in color of the phenolpthalein to pink while the presence of the hydrogen gas can be confirmed by placing a glowing wooden splinter into the test tube and hearing a pop sound. The last concept is comparing the reactivity of metals specifically magnesium and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Pleasantville Biblical Refrences Essay The movie Pleasantville (Produced and directed by Gary Ross in 1988) is more than just your ordinary film. Pleasantville sends a message within a message. Not only is it a great film, (made popular by New Line Cinema) it contains numerous biblical references. Some of the biblical references in this film may be easier to see and understand than others. But when asked to analyze this film and critique the biblical references you will understand just how many there are. To me the most obvious relation to the bible is in a scene where the main character David (Tobey Maguire) is the first to see a fire that breaks out in a tree in his front yard. Ironically enough, the tree is on fire, but is not consumed by the flames, it s burning but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The serpent eventually persuades Eve to eat from the Tree of Knowledge . After she eats from it, she has Adam eat from it. Shortly after, they finally notice they are naked and become self conscious and cover up. God then asks about what they have done and Eve blames Adam, while Adam blames the Serpent. God curses them, and makes Eve suffer through labor and banishes both of them from the Garden of Eden. The relation in the movies comes from a scene in the end involving David and another girl from his school. Color starts to fill Pleasantville, and the girl he is sitting with in the lawn gets up and grabs a fruit of off the tree, and then she hands the fruit to David to eat, much like Eve did with Adam. As soon as they ate the fruit, it started to rain in Pleasantville for the first time ever, symbolizing God s anger, and color now completely filled Pleasantville. The discovery in books also reminds me of the Tree of Knowledge of good and evil , the books being good, and the reading of them being evil because it made people curious to as what else was out in the real world. Therefore there is an effect in both cases, the biblical one, and also the movie. Pleasantville, (before David and Jennifer) is a dream world if you will, everyone is always happy and there are never any conflicts with anyone. Once the two of them arrive however, everything changes. In Pleasantville everything is black and white, but after Jennifer has sex ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Jackie O Working Girl And The Despair Of Jackie Kennedy November 22, 1963. This is the date that Jacqueline (Jackie) Kennedy Onassis forever lost her husband, John F. Kennedy (JFK). After this tragedy, also remarrying and losing that husband as well, Jackie found fulfillment in becoming a book editor shown in Jackie O, Working Girl (Lawrence). Not only does Jackie O, Working Girl shows how Jackie became a book editor, it also tells women working is not a bad thing. On the other hand, The Despair of Jackie Kennedy delves deep into the details of her mourning over the death of her husband. Other than these two articles talking about Jackie Kennedy, the only other similarity these articles share is they both use some of the same rhetorical strategies: purpose, tone, and audience selection. Although their methods in using purpose, tone, and guiding an audience however is completely different. To begin, the purpose of the articles Jackie O, Working Girl and The Despair of Jackie Kennedy is considerably contrary. The purpose of Jackie O, Working Girl is not only to tell about how Jackie became a book editor, it also shows women that it is okay to work even when they do not need to. Jackie became a book editor not because she needed the money, but because it was something for her to do (Lawrence). Jackie described in an interview why she chose to work. Lawrence wrote that Jackie said, what has been sad for many women of my generation is that they weren t supposed to work if they had families. There they were, with the highest education, and what were they to do when the children were grown watch the raindrops coming down the window pane? Leave their fine minds unexercised? Of course, women should work if they want to. You have to do something you enjoy. Women may not need to work, but what else is there to do when everything has already been finished? The purpose of The Despair of Jackie Kennedy is to inform people of the true events on how Jackie dealt with her husband s assassination, and the toll it took on her. Jackie couldn t stop obsessing over how she could have prevented JFK s assassination. She would run the scenarios over and over again in her head if only she recognized the sound of the first gunshot, if only she pulled him down into the car, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Thesis For Mending Wall Is there an object in your life that brings you and a friend together? In Mending Wall written by Robert Frost, two neighbors come together every year to repair the wall that divides their property. They do not have any livestock to keep off of each others property but they still come together every year. They say that it keeps them staying up in each others lives and help to maintain their friendship. The narrator of this poem is trying to convince these two that there is no point in this wall because it is not keeping anything off of each others property. The neighbors try to convince them otherwise. Finding common ground between two people helps build strong relationships. The author shows this by the dialogue between the narrator and the neighbors, the symbol of the wall, and third idea. In this poem, the main characters, the neighbors, are in a constant battle with the narrator. They try explaining to the narrator how this wall has brought them together. It allows them to stay up in each others lives and keep their friendship stable. The neighbors share with the narrator that this wall is not pointless. The carpenter, the weaver, the haberdasher, the dyer, and the carpet maker all traveled together due to their similar trades. They did this so they could increase the prices of their good. These men were all very successful in their respective trades. The men dressed in very fancy attire. The Guildsmen were also very proud of how well they treated their wives. They not only dressed out themselves and their wives, but also their horses. Do not be mistaken, not all craftsmen behaved in this manner. Some craftsmen were monks! A monk named Bertinus lived in a monastery, devoting himself to work, prayer and study (Price 14). The Guildsmen that Chaucer wrote about were very boastful and showy with their wealth, but not all craftsmen were like that. There is not much to infer from the Guildsmen, due to Chaucer not getting to their stories before his passing. But based upon how they boast their wealth, we can assume that they were stuck up in some manners. As previously stated, they showed off their wealth with silver knives and fancy pouches and girdles to the other merchants and craftsmen. They completely spoiled their wives as well. The Guildsmen were all in livery (Chaucer 153). They dressed in clothing associated with their trade. Back then, craftsmen all wore a certain type of uniform based on their craft. Kind of similar to the way jobs wear certain uniforms. For example, at the UPS Store the standard uniform is a collared shirt, either brown in light green, with khaki pants. Based on the information of the Guildsmen, we can infer that these men either rode on horse or buggy. We can also infer that the horses or buggy were welled dressed up to show off their wealth! Horses were basically a necessity during this time period. They were the only form of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. Louisiana Purchase Importance Importance of the Louisiana Purchase The Decisions made to buy the Louisiana Purchase were tough; however, in the end the Louisiana Purchase was the most important land purchase in American history. In 1803 the United States had seventeen states along with the Northwest Territory. America still had not reached its potential growth, even though the states were still growing with settlers, until after the Louisiana Purchase. The president at this time was Thomas Jefferson. Jefferson s decision would soon be the birth of our nation, as well as be the largest land purchase in American history. The port of New Orleans was controlled by France. France eventually gave over the rights to Spain. Spain didn t want a vast majority of new settlers coming into the land, so Spain closed New Orleans and the lower part of the Mississippi to any foreigners. Spain eventually gave the rights of navigation and exploration of the land and New Orleans Port over to the Americans. France soon gained a new leader by the name of Napoleon Bonaparte. Napoleon was a powerful tiny man who took over a vast majority of land in Europe. Spain gave the Louisiana territory to Napoleon, because of the gigantic size of the property. Jefferson was troubled by the fact of France owning the land, because it might scare people away to settle in the land. • 11. A Summary OfThe Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe The White Witch The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe (Lewis, 1978) has many biblical connections. However the one that stuck out the most was the White Witch being the representation of Satan. This imagery is seen in her history, her presence, and the weapons she uses. The White Witch has a history seen very shortly in The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe (Lewis, 1978). In the book, the White Witch prefers to be called Jadis Queen of Narnia (Lewis, 1978, p 64) Jadis means long ago, of old or witch (Campbell, n.d. ). So, the name she prefers means the witch from long ago. She has a big ego, however her true name is Lilith. C.S. Lewis took the tale of Lilith, the first wife of Adam who rebelled (The Story of Lilith, n.d.), and planted her in his story. In his story, however, she is a bit different. Jadis is part Jinn and part giant (Lewis, 1978, p 88). A jinn is a type of demon so her type of species can be put together to mean a giant demon. So the big demon is implying that biggest bad which is Satan. Lilith also comes into the story as the emperor s hangman, You know that every traitor belongs to me as my lawful prey and that for every treachery I have a right to a kill. (Lewis, 1978, p ?). In the story, she was given this job because she was the first person to betray the emperor . This role is a representation of Satan, as those who betray and turn away from God go to Satan. A Rose for Emily , a satire, exposes the life of the Old South and development of the allegory through the characters. The life of the Old South ended abruptly when Miss Emily died because she is an allegorical representation of the Old South and her death signifies the end of it. Miss Emily is metaphorically referred to as a fallen monument by the narrator which reveals the judgmental and distasteful tone that alludes to the importance of tradition; which in this case is her father who had robbed her free will by driving away all the bachelors to maintain her honor. • 14. Understanding Military Culture There are major changes that have transformed the military from the old force which was seen to focus only on winning battles without caring much about their forces to the highly skilled force it is today that is all rounded. In order to comprehend the changes in the military there is need for understanding the military culture. Like any other culture, military culture has evolved from unorganized forms of administration and organization to the current modern force it is today. There are different viewpoints on military culture and understanding it requires delving in their systems. Explanation of military culture has two dimensions; one, the actual service where the force is required to interact with others while serving and two, the personal life of the veteran and the life off the military environment. The picture that explains best about the need to understand military culture is the citizen solder that serves for a few years and is not likely to return t active duty but associates with the military though totally disengaged. The lives of military in active service and the veteran are different but swayed by the same forces, the military culture. Therefore, there is need to understand the military structure and basic military culture tenets and its elements such as missions, core values and ideals. This paper seeks to illustrate the importance of military culture training, its foundations and its effects both locally and internationally. Introduction The changes in ... On the other hand, specific immunotherapy targets tumor antigens on cancer cells. One type of specific immunotherapy is the cancer treatment vaccine. A Report On Rheumatic Fever Awareness Campaign Of 2016 CAMPAIGN BACKGROUND Rheumatic Fever Awareness Campaign of 2016 is a programme by New Zealand that continues to promote awareness against sore throat caused by Group A Streptococcus which complicates to rheumatic fever. It is known that Acute Rheumatic Fever (ARF) is serious yet a preventable illness. The campaign is dedicated to reduce the incidence among children and aims to create national consciousness on the importance of early prevention, treatment and the facts about rheumatic fever that may possibly result to heart damage. In New Zealand, ARF has been significantly increasing. It is alarming as ARF is considered an evident indicator of child poverty and ill health (Sharpe, 2012). The cases of ARF doubled from 1.9 per 100 000 to 3.8 per 100 000 from 2005 to 2010 (Lowe, L., Miller, J., Sharpe, N., 2011). It is vital that the problem with ARF be addressed as its rates have constantly failed to decrease and thus remain as one of the highest reported third world diseases in a highly developed country such as New Zealand (Masters, 2009). According to Dr. Coleman, Minister of Health, in his media statement on ARF last May 1, 2016, he claimed that the campaign aims to decrease the cases of ARF by two thirds by June 2017. Different intervention techniques were used to pursue the objectives of the campaign such as school throat swabbing, health education, community exposure to lowly deprived areas, media advertisements and promotions. Medea lacks true freedom and the men in this Greek tragedy say that being a woman is easy, but it s very challenging. Medea attempts to play the role of men and performs traditional roles of masculinity, but cannot fully fulfill the role because of her status as a woman. Foucault would consider Medea to be mimicking the same power elimination that Jason did. He was able to get the trust of Medea, by allowing her to slave the dragon, and deceive her father. Once, he got her trust he then betrayed her. Medea s revenge is dictated by a masculine regime of truth. Medea being under a particular regime of truth that is incredibly masculine allows her anger to turn into revenge and her want for power causes her to think about death. • 23. The Relationship Between Export Processing Zones Export Processing Zones Name Institution Date Introduction The relationship between Export Processing Zones (EPZs) and globalization, Neoliberalism, global governing institutions and the 1980s debt crisis has attracted a lot of debate in the economic circles. It is widely believed that EPZs have helped in the development of the globalization project. Economists believe that the rise and growth of EPZs was enabled by the neoliberal strategies that global governing institutions such as the World Bank and the IMF instituted after the 1980s debt crisis in Latin America. In his book titled Development and Social Change , McMichael deals with critical events that led to globalization. These include Neoliberalism, the debt crisis and the rise of export processing zones. This paper will investigate these interrelationships and conclude that there is a key relationship between EPZ and the globalization project, and the rise and growth of the EPZ with the neoliberal actions of key global governing institutions especially after the 1980s debt crisis. • 25. Correlation Between Earnings And Share Prices Essay Question 1 The diagram illustrates the studies by Beaver, Clarke and Wright (1979) and Foster, Olsen and Shevlin (1984). The studies are based on the Ball Brown study regarding the relationship between earnings and share prices. This diagram shows that the size and sign of unexpected Earnings per Share (EPS) is related to the sign and size of cumulative Abnormal Return (AR). The graph represents the portfolio in ranking order based on the forecast error and EPS. There are 10 portfolios in which the first portfolio has the most negative forecast error and EPS while the tenth portfolio has the most positive forecast error and EPS. This means that Portfolio 1 is the worst performing firm in regarding the earnings (most negative share price reaction) while Portfolio 10 is the best performing firm (most positive share price reaction). Based on the fourth and fifth portfolio, the share reaction is very small. The negative abnormal return in portfolio 4 is pretty much negligible and the same can be said in portfolio 5 where there is only a slight positive share price reaction. This is due to the fact that the information is not too much of a surprise for the shareholders to react hugely. Therefore, it can be said that from portfolio 1 to 4, they are the bad news firms while portfolio 5 to 10 are the good news firms. In conclusion, the hypothesis made by the studies is proven to be correct. The firm with the most negative forecast error and EPS has the most negative AR and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Gender In Victorianism Hector Maciel Prof. Hampton Unit Code: 9/29/17 Victorianism Victorianism is the cultural influence orchestrated by the reign of Queen Victoria from the year 1837 to the year 1901. The dominant notions of these times were moralizing, prudish, repressed and old fashion, as opposed to traditional. The above elements of culture traversed across the English society to other parts of America, influencing how people dressed and celebrated. The central ideas of Victorianism emerged during the period of early Victorianism. Significant developments during this period included science, economics, and social lifestyle. In terms of politics, there was the introduction of democracy and parliamentary system of governance. This was also the time that the Anglicanism, through the Church of England stroke a balance with other Catholic communities. Also, it dictates how modern applications function and how programming languages work seamlessly. The key to handling this exception is to subtract the digit ahead of the power from the numeral itself [4]. Now that the basic numbers and rules have been covered, the arithmetic for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division can be understood. To calculate addition, one must first rewrite the numbers to arrange them in descending order after putting them together. Next, one must learn to ignore the subtractive system and write out individual numbers when appropriate. For example: 4 = IIII, 9 = VIIII, 34 = XXXIIII; but 3 still equals III, 6 still equals VI, and 37 still equals XXXVII. Third, evaluating in ascending order, one must rewrite trailing I digits into a simplified version. Finally, any further required simplification is performed. To demonstrate this, consider two numbers in addition, 13 + 66. The numbers are written side by side (XIII + LXVI), then put together in descending order (LXXVIIII). The four trailing I digits are rewritten as IV, and this number is rewritten as LXXVIV. The last three digits, the VIV, is equivalent to IX (9), so the number is rewritten one final time as LXXIX (79). For subtraction, one must borrow numbers by marking out common symbols in the second number. For example, LXVIII XII (68 12) = ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

And (4), are source sink dynamics clustered in any particular part of the species range? In other words, a decline in abundance in the source population in one year will result in a decline in the sink population in the following year, as a smaller source population produces fewer young to ... • 31. Advantages Of Self-Driving Car Should Self Driving Cars Become a Normal Method of Transportation? Through improvements of technology during the 21st century, new inventions to the modern day car have been applied and the future has arrived. The self driving car facilitates the idea that humans don t have to drive the car, but rather the car can drive itself. The cars recently debuted after being a concept in the making for several years. One example of the car in the making is Tesla, a car producing company, that initiated a test run of these cars calling the setting, autopilot (Source 3). The setting allowed the driver to sit back and relax as the car attempted to drive without assistance. The self driving car should be a normal mode of transportation because they reduce accidents, are accessible to all ages, and are cost efficient. Self driving cars prevent accidents by reacting to stimuli faster than humans. Associated Press writes, The system can brake when it spots obstacles and keep cars in lanes. (Source 3) The cars can sense and save one when falling asleep from a long road trip or simply a night out. Furthermore, less accidents result in less traffic, which will result in decongested roads. He that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. (Paine 87.) Paine is stating that any man who stands against the British deserves the admiration of all the colonists. I call not upon a few, but upon all; not on this state or that state, but on every state; up and help us. (Paine 89.) Paine is asking everyone in every state and colony to help the fight against the British. The blood of his children will curse his cowardice, who shrinks back at a time when a little might have saved the whole. (Paine 90.) Despite the growing demand for organic wheat and oats, a limited amount of research has been undertaken to solve challenges faced by organic producers. Because crop plants cannot be protected by conventional pesticides under organic standards, the development of crop varieties with the ability to compete against weeds and resist infection from disease is extremely important. In reality, the choice of variety is more crucial in organic than in conventional agriculture since synthetic herbicides and protectants cannot be used. Only limited efforts have been made to breed small grain crop varieties specifically for organic farming (Wolfe et al., 2008), even though it has been shown that in order to optimize performance varieties should be bred specifically for organic management if the goal is to optimize performance (Baenziger et al., 2011). As a result, organic producers are forced to choose varieties that were developed and optimized for conventional farming and have limited access to information on optimal management practices. This project is expected to produce new varieties of spring wheat, winter wheat, and oat with improved productivity and end use quality under organic management. The project will also provide new practical advice for organic producers about small ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
