Reaction Essay Topics
Writing an essay on the topic of "Reaction Essay Topics" can be both challenging and intriguing.
The difficulty lies in the need to strike a balance between personal reflection and objective
analysis. Unlike other essay types that may require a more straightforward approach, a reaction
essay demands the writer to articulate their thoughts and feelings while also providing a
thoughtful response to a given stimulus.
One of the challenges is navigating the fine line between subjectivity and objectivity. While the
essay is a reflection of personal reactions, it is crucial to support these reactions with well-
reasoned arguments and evidence. This demands a thorough understanding of the topic and the
ability to express one's thoughts coherently.
Additionally, selecting an appropriate reaction essay topic is critical. The chosen subject should
be compelling enough to evoke genuine reactions, yet not so overwhelming that it becomes
challenging to articulate a coherent response. Striking the right balance between personal
engagement and maintaining an academic tone adds another layer of complexity to the writing
process.
Furthermore, crafting a well-structured essay requires organizing thoughts in a logical sequence.
A successful reaction essay should include an introduction that captures the reader's attention, a
body that delves into the reactions with supporting evidence, and a conclusion that ties
everything together. Transitioning smoothly between personal insights and broader analysis
requires finesse and careful consideration.
In conclusion, writing a reaction essay on the topic of "Reaction Essay Topics" demands a blend
of introspection, analytical thinking, and effective communication skills. It is a task that
challenges writers to express their personal reactions while substantiating them with well-
reasoned arguments. However, with careful planning and dedication, navigating through this
challenge can lead to a compelling and thought-provoking essay.

Dunbarton by Robert Lowell Essay
Dunbarton by Robert Lowell is one of the poems from his Life Studies book. It s a
short poem of only two pages but it has very deep meaning. The poem alludes to the
poet s relationship with his grandfather. In this essay I will analyze this piece in detail
and talk about the author s connection with his grandfather.
Robert Lowell prefers the use of free verse for his poems. He doesn t use a specific
style for this piece; it is more free styled. He uses poetic language but there is no
metered rhythm in the poem. Lowell even said once in an interview: Prose is in
many ways better off than poetry...I thought poetry was getting increasingly stifling. I
couldn t get my experiences into tight metrical forms (J. Myers and D. Wojahn, p....

This is a good pre setting for this poem. The reader is told right away that the two
had a good relationship and love. At the same time, it gives the reader a feeling of
something not very real but of some other world. Though grandparents love their
grandchildren, they do not usually prefer their company to the society. Nevertheless,
Lowell considered his grandfather his dad. Even his family members, when they said
your Father (Line 9), meant his grandfather. The reason is that his real dad was a
navy officer and was always away from home: Daddy was still on sea duty in the
Pacific (Line 5). In the beginning of the second paragraph, he says: He was my
father. I was his son (Line 10). This shows that the love was mutual between the
grandson to the grandfather and vice versa. By mentioning both relationships, he puts
extra focus on that fact. The seventh and the last paragraphs of the poem talk about
the author s feelings: paramour (Line 58). In those paragraphs, he shows the reader
that in some way, he was intimidated by his grandfather. Lowell describes his
grandfather s crutch as ...more a weapon than a crutch (Line 49). There are names and
altitudes of all the mountains the grandfather had climbed. The author, of course,
respects his grandfather but also feels insignificant compared to him. It also shows
when he says that he liked to cuddle with the grandfather: In the mornings I
Love Is The Type Of Love
Love, a combination of strong emotions, concerns, and desires one feels for another
human being. It could be shown by ones behavior and sexual attraction towards the
person whom they love. There are many facets of love that was described within the
text such as passionate, unrequited, companionate, consummate loveand many others.
The love type of relationship that I would be focusing on is an intimate partner
kind of love. According to Sternberg, the ideal kind of love which consist of
intimacy, commitment and passion is consummate love. Consummate love is the
type of love everyone yearns. I believe I had found this type of love with my
husband of four years. We are very intimate, compatible, committed, and passionate
for one another. I couldn t have picked a better partner to fit my ideal of a soulmate
and I thank God for him every day. After completing both questionnaires; the
Hendricks Styles of Love and the Sternberg s Triangular Model of love . I was
curious to see what my scores entails and whether my two separate scores would be
similar to one another. It also made me to reminisce back to when my husband and
I first met and the kind of feelings I had then compared to now. According to the
Hendricks Styles of Love scale, I believe my score is relatively correct in a way. This
particular questionnaire scale has six subscales; Eros, Ludus, Storge, Prama, Mania
and agape to interpret each categories. My Eros, Storge, Pragma, mania and agape

The Prevalence of Younger Students Lying to Health...
Communication is a functional, purposeful, and strategic aspect of human
socialization. Individuals have the ability make conscious decisions to control their
expressive language to manipulate the perceived interpretations of others (Burgoon,
Callister, Hunsaker, 445). As people acquire language, they develop sensitivity to the
Gricean maxims of conversation. The first of these maxims is Quantity I , or the
failure to provide enough information. The second of these maxims is Quantity II , or
the provision of too much or redundant information. The third of these maxims is
Quality , or veracity (Siegal, Iozzi, and Surian, 2009). These three Gricean maxims of
conversation alone encompass the prevalence of various forms of lying in the context
of human communication. The significance of lying is that it can change various
outcomes that negatively impact various circumstances. In the realm of health care,
patients may lieto health professionals for a number of reasons including to acquire
unnecessary or excessive medications, to avoid embarrassment or judgment, and to
reduce expensive medical charges that may accumulate over time. No matter how
well intentioned the doctor faced with a patient in need of help may be, it is he who
has the advantage resulting from the knowledge he has (the truth) and his skills: a
disproportion occurs between these two parties (Tanasiewicz, 2005, 16). Regardless
of the motivation patients may have for lying, they may be jeopardizing

the children. The Dr. examine them from head to toe and concluded there were no

Christian Mysticism Essay
Mysticism is a word we find in many books that relate to religious experiences.
Mysticism is interpreted as searching for spiritual truth and wisdom through the
unification with the Divine. Many Christians today believe that the words associated
with mysticism like meditation and mystic are not coherently related with Christianity
, but more with many Eastern religions. Eastern religions are definitely known for
their mysticism, but it is believed to not be a part of Christianity. Mysticism is
actually a vital part of Christianity in ways that are more spiritual rather than only
being engaged with Christian rituals. Mysticism is the faith that spiritual reality is
believed to be from human knowledge and their senses. It searches for truth... Show

Some believe there are two ways of interpreting the religious proposition of
mysticism. One is the indirect experience of God. It takes the form of reported
mystical experiences, which are believed to be the experiences of the foundations
for what a mystical experience is all about. The other is the intellectual aspect.
Individuals believe that as a result of the mystical experience, a better knowing and
revelations are attained from the mystical experience. Jesus Christ is believed to
be the son the God and is believed to have said that to be close to God one must
look into his or her inner self, not in how much time you devote to God, or the
places you praise him in. The Christian concept of the mystical union can be
defined as the search for and experience of an intimacy with God through Jesus
Christ. The experience of the mystical union represents the total absorption of the
humankind to the point, that it loses itself in the communion with God. Another
characteristic of the Christian mystical union is the concept of a spiritual or
heavenly marriage. The use of the image of sacred and spiritual marriage between
God and one s soul is a symbolization of the mystical union. The idea of a wedding
is the biblical metaphor of the Jewish covenant between Israel and God. The ultimate
goal of the mystical experience is the union between oneself and the divine presence
and of the contemplative way. The mystical union is arrived at in stages of
Water Pollution Is the Contamination of Water Bodies
Water pollution is the contamination of water bodies (e.g. lakes, rivers, oceans and
groundwater).
Water pollution affects plants and organisms living in these bodies of water; and, in
almost all cases the effect is damaging not only to individual species and populations,
but also to the natural biological communities.
Water pollution occurs when pollutants are discharged directly or indirectly into
water bodies without adequate treatment to remove harmful compounds.

However where such water is not channeled and drains directly to ground it is a non
point source.
[edit] Groundwater pollution
See also: Hydrogeology
Interactions between groundwater and surface water are complex. Consequently,
groundwater pollution, sometimes referred to as groundwater contamination, is not
as easily classified as surface water pollution.[7] By its very nature, groundwater
aquifers are susceptible to contamination from sources that may not directly affect
surface water bodies, and the distinction of point vs. non point source may be
irrelevant. A spill or ongoing releases of chemical or radionuclide contaminants into
soil (located away from a surface water body) may not create point source or non
point source pollution, but can contaminate the aquifer below, defined as a toxin
plume. The movement of the plume, a plume front, can be part of a Hydrological
transport model or Groundwater model. Analysis of groundwater contamination may
focus on the soil characteristics and site geology, hydrogeology, hydrology, and the
nature of the contaminants.
[edit] Causes of water pollution
The specific contaminants leading to pollution in water include a wide spectrum of
chemicals, pathogens, and physical or sensory changes such as elevated temperature
and discoloration. While many of the chemicals and substances that are regulated
may be naturally occurring (calcium, sodium, iron, manganese,
Serena Williams, The French Open Final Saturday Essay
Serena Williams lost the French Open final Saturday to Garbine Muguruza. It
marked her third failed attempt to win a 22nd singles Grand Slam title, which
would tie the Open era record set by Steffi Graf. Williams was extremely gracious
in defeat as she addressed the crowd at Roland Garros in French. The tennis icon
can afford to be gracious these days: She earned $28.9 million over the past 12
months. That makes her the world s highest paid female athlete over that span,
unseating Maria Sharapova, who had held the title the past 11 years.
US player Serena Williams returns the ball to Netherlands Kiki Bertens during their
women s semi final match at the Roland Garros 2016 French Tennis Open in Paris on
June 3, 2016.
A drug suspension dinged Sharapova s earnings, but Williams was likely to grab
the title of top paid female athlete even with Sharapova not sidelined. Williams, 34,
has dominated her sport for a decade and a half. She won her second Grand Slam in
2002 and has added 19 more since then. Her career prize money of $77.6 million is
more than twice as much as any other female athlete.
Her late career tear has made Williams a compelling figure for marketers. She ranks
second among active athletes, behind only LeBron James in the U.S., on Repucom

awareness, as well as seven attributes. Her 89% awareness level ranks in the top 3%

The Controversy Of Year-Round School
The topic of year around school has been brought up many times throughout my
time in school. Though it has been brought up, it has not actually been considered
by my fellow students and I. We have all taken surveys regarding it and most of the
people I know have been against it. With our school being in a small town in Iowa I
do not think having year round schooling would benefit us or the community.
Many students including myself work for local businesses in the summer. Us
students make up a large amount of these businesses employes. Without high
schoolers working the business owners can not make a profit, which essentially
causes them to lose money and possibly go bankrupt. High school students being
summer workers is not the only
All About My Mother And Art Spiegelman
Pedro AlmodГіvar s film, All About my Mother and Art Spiegelman s graphic novel
Maus, both attempt to make sense of the ways in which trauma shapes families. Both
texts portray trauma as a divisive force between parents and children, however the
expression of that division is variable. While Maus portrays trauma as purely
divisive, All About my Motherdemonstrates that trauma can create as well as destroy
familial relationships. The two texts reconvene on the idea that the passage of trauma
from parents to children serves as a means of recovery from trauma and pain.
In both narratives, distance between parents and children is created because of a
traumatic experience unique to the parent. In All About my Mother, this distance is
manifested ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Manuela s withdraw into a vague response and her unwillingness to discuss the
trauma and events which are so significant to her and EstebГЎn s lives highlights the
distance created between parent and child through this suffering.
Trauma still behaves as an alienating force in Maus. However, the distance between
Artie and Vladek is expressed in the form of Artie s guilt, rather than insensitivity,
about Vladek s trauma. While discussing his struggle to retell Vladek s story with
his wife Françoise, Artie states, I can t even make any sense out of my relationship
with my father...How am I supposed to make any sense out of Auschwitz? ... of the
Holocaust?... When I was a kid I used to think about which of my parents I d let the
Nazis take to the ovens if I could only save one of them... I usually saved my mother.
Do you think that s normal? (14). The fact that Artie can t comprehend his
relationship to Vladek indicates his lack of understanding, and therefore distance
from his father. Spiegelman s subsequent questioning of how he is to understand the
Holocaust and Auschwitz, and his use of the same sentence structure in voicing those
questions demonstrates the parallels between these two ignorances and underscores
the causal relationship between misunderstanding his father and his ignorance of
Jimmy Baker Sex Addiction Essay
My name is Jimmy Baker and I am addicted to pornography. Some consider sex
addiction to be an excuse for inappropriate behavior, which from the viewpoint of
an outsider is a reasonable misconception. However, these outsiders are unable to
comprehend the incessant craving for sexual activities. A sex addict has often
been defined as a person who is obsessed with some type of sexual behavior, and
whose behavior is compulsive and is continued despite significant adverse
consequences (@).(Question 1) Day to day life as a sex addict consists of activities

One of these few people include my wife. It started off as just a few instances in
which my wife walked into accidently. However, what was thought to be a one time
occurrence has developed into a more frequent problem. As time progressed and
my dependence on pornagraphy increased, more and more of the ones I cared
most for slowly began to drift further away. Doing things like attending the Sunday
morning service at our local Christian churchwith my family turned into something
that I dread going to. Services were no longer inspiring or impelling, but rather
filled with lessons that provoked guilt and shame within myself. Sermons that
target the repercussions of sexual sins now haunt me and linger in the back of my
head day in and day out.(Question 4) The mere thought of my exposure as a sex
addict within my church is daunting. Most people assume a sex addict means that I
look forward to getting between the sheets with everyone I lay my eyes on. This
assumption is what associates the stereotype that all sex addicts are rapist.
Therefore, if I were to reveal my identity as one who suffers from the addiction to
pornagraphy, I would never live down the relentless questions like, Are you a
pedophile? or How many prostitutes do you bring home in a week? .(Question
The Dynamite
During the industrial revolution, many amazing inventions arose and because of
them the world changed. Some of these inventions affected the world in a positive
way and solved many problems. Yet other inventions were the cause of misery to the
entire human kind. What about an invention that caused both joy and misery? It s an
invention that affects our world until this day. This invention is the Dynamite. Let me
first introduce you to the inventor of the dynamite. The dynamite was invented by
Swedish scientist Alfred Nobelin 1866. Let me now tell you how this dynamite
affected the industrial era. It was created so it can be used in construction, mining
and demolition. It was used to carve in the mountains in order to create railroads and

If you would compare the number of deaths in war before and after the dynamite, you
would be amazed. People then were sure that the country that had the dynamite was
probably going to be the strongest. European countries started competing in creating
the dynamite and started selling it world wide. You might say that this was a positive
impact but because people at that time didn t quite understand the dynamite that this
trade usually ended in death. Because shipping dynamite at that time wasn t safe,
many catastrophes happened. For example, a shipment route to California blew up in
Panama, killing 60 and causing a half million dollars in damage. Nobel s own
dynamite factory in Hamburg, Germany, blew up leaving nothing but a shattered
foundation and killing his brother. Later in WW1 the dynamite became one of the
popular weapons in used. Because of this dynamite, thousands lost their lives,
thousands lost their homes and millions lost their loved ones. It turned Earth into a
living hell. You might say that there were other weapons used but the creation of the
dynamite affected people psychologically. They started seeing an invention that can
shatter a whole building in seconds which led to the rising of aggression inside
people. All these negative effects and we still didn t talk about the environment. The
dynamite caused many negative impacts on the environment and the health of people.
It first starts with pollution and ends up with
Perceptions Paper
Perspectives:
Effects on Research and Writing
Every person s perceptions are entirely inimitable in their own way. Perception, in
itself, means to interpret the world around, in one s own way based on their
personally acquired morals, values, and fears. Our minds begin to examine and
interpret things using these traits. How does this all relate to research and writing?
After making interpretations, a person then begins to form an opinion about the
subject at hand. When writing, a topic is given and immediately the writer forms a
related opinion about the topic and thus, chooses an arguable side. The next step in
the process is to begin delving into researching that topic based on the side that has
already been pre disposed inside ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The writer is also quick to judge the man, an Irish man fresh from a pub , and
immediately assumes that he is mocking or stereotyping her solely based on her
expectations she has taken from her childhood. When in fact, the man on the bus
could have very well been stricken by her beauty and infatuated with the Latin culture
but, Ortiz Cofer, by design assumes the negative side of the situation. These views
that she has grown up to believe affect her way of thinking, which in turn affects
her writing. In an essay written by Horace Miner, Body Rituals among the
Nacrima Miner observes a culture through an outsider s perspective. Miner, an
anthropologist, studies the behavior and cultural development of the Nacrima. His
distant perspective can be seen when he describes the rituals in which the people
take part in as a В…. rite [involving] a practice which strikes the uninitiated stranger
as revolting. The culture he speaks of is that of the Americans and Miner
strategically uses word play to disguise this, fooling the reader into believing that
the essay depicts an older, less advanced culture. He uses this distance to his
advantage to force the reader to perceive the world we live in differently; One that
is ritualistic and practices magic in order to sustain survival. For example, Miner
states, the witch doctor has the power to exorcise the devils that lodge in the heads
of people who have been bewitched when
The Pros And Cons Of Gay Marriage
In 2012, gay couple David Mullins and Charlie Craig went to Masterpiece
Cakeshop in Colorado to purchase a cake for their wedding. Their request was
denied by the owner, Jack Phillips, because he is Christian and does not support gay
marriage. He sent them away because he believes that since making a cakefor a gay
wedding goes against his religious beliefs, he doesn t have to make it. The couple
felt discriminated because of who they are, and filed civil rightscharges against
Phillips. David and Charlie say that Phillips shouldn t be able to deny them goods
from a public shop just because of their sexual orientation. To this Phillips explains
that he would be happy to serve the couple or any LGBT person regular baked
goods, such as a birthday cake or cookies, but he refuses to use his talents to create
a cake for a religious celebration in which he doesn t support. But is he allowed to
do this? According to Phillips he should be protected by the first amendment, freedom
of speech. Bakingand decorating cakes is his art and a way of expressing himself,
and he doesn t in any way want to express an acceptance for something he doesn t
agree with. The couple, along with various gay rights groups, don t see this as any
kind of excuse for turning down and discriminating customers in a shop open to the
public, which should include anyone and everyone. It s a matter of equality, and
Charlie and David aren t being treated the same way as others customers, which is
unfair. The couple
Caliban Misunderstood Character
Caliban, a very misunderstood character, while he may seem to be the monster on

environment. Before Prospero showed up the island was his, Caliban s mother had

sounds to me that Calibanisn t in fact the monster, and the monster may actually be
the person that you didn t expect it to be. So it turns out Caliban isn t the monster,
and he is simply a product of his environment. Caliban stood against Prospero
because he was treating his horribly. I don t know about you but it sound like a

Essay about The Journey to the Center of Jupiter
The Journey to the Center of Jupiter
Jupiter is the largest planet in the Solar System and the 5th planet from the Sun. It
is a very unique and interesting planet. Its famous Red Spot and raging gas storms
give it a cool look. Jupiter is an outer planet and a gas giant. Most gas giants have
many moons and are surrounded by a set of rings or a thin disk of small particles of
ice and rock. Like all gas giants, Jupiter has a thick atmosphere made up of mostly
hydrogen and helium. Jupiter is much larger than Earth. You can fit about 1,300
Earths into Jupiter. The great red spot is a storm larger than Earth, which is pretty
incredible. Also, Jupiter reflects many shades of white, red, orange, brown, and

at least 400 years. The Great Red Spot rotates counter clockwise (and makes a full
rotation every six Earth days. Some people believe that the Great Red Spot is
shrinking but we are not sure. Scientists are also not sure where the reddish color
comes from. The most popular theory says that the color may be caused by
complex organic molecules, red phosphorus, or other sulfur compounds. The Great
Red Spot varies greatly in color, it goes form brick red to pale salmon, and white. As
you can see Jupiter s atmosphere is very interesting and we still have a lot to learn.
The main moons of Jupiter are Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto. Simon Marius
Galileo Galilei discovered them in 1610. Jupiter is gas giant and has many moons.
Io is the most volcanically active body in the solar system. It looks like a huge pizza
covered with melted cheese dots of tomato and ripe olives. To our surprise there
are active volcanoes on Io as well as lava flows, lava lakes, and giant calderas. Io
orbits closer to Jupiter s cloud tops than the moon does to Earth. Another moon is
Europa. Europa is the 4th largest moon and was named after a Phoenician princess
who was abducted by Zeus and taken to the island of Crete to be his lover. Zeus took
the form of a white bull and coaxed Europa to climb on his back as he swam off to
Crete. Like many other moons, Europa is caught by
Fracking Good Or Bad
Here in the state of Oklahoma, the economy completely revolves around one main
thing and that thing is oil and natural gas. With that comes the necessity for finding
the oil and gas trapped in the earth so that it can be converted to revenue for the
companies and the state as a whole. The most popular way of finding the trapped
resources though is becoming public enemy number, one in some people s minds.
This form of extracting oil and gas is called hydraulic fracturing, otherwise known
as fracking . What is fracking though and why is it so bad? Fracking is defined as
the injection of fluid into shale beds at high pressure in order to free up petroleum
resources (such as oil or natural gas) (Merriam Webster). The reason the most

Libya Research Paper
I.Introduction
Just a few years ago, Libya had one of the highest standards of living of any African
country. Now Libya is in political turmoil with multiple groups and governments
trying to gain power. In 1969, Muammar Gaddafi seized power of Libya by a
military coup. The authoritarian ruler stayed in power for four decades until 2011
when he was killed in an armed rebellion assisted by Western military intervention.
The UN intervened in Libya for human rights reasons, not to facilitate a regime
change. Shortly after Gaddafi was killed, foreign assistance disappeared leaving
Libya fragile and hostile. The Libyan civil war began as a part of the Arab uprising,
with two main opposing forces, the government and rebel militias. The military
groups that had once fought to topple Gaddafi began to turn on each other in an
attempt to gain power and oil wealth. Libya is now more ideologically divided than
ever and in need of a plan to revive its nation.
Libya s transition to a democracy will involve many steps, considering its current lack
of any centralized government. A multidimensional approach including peacekeeping,
nation building, and developmental assistance is likely to have the most success in
repairing Libya s government. Through close monitoring, the Libyan government
could be a functioning democracy in as little as five years.
II.Past Democratic Injustices
For 42 years, Libya was a military dictatorship ruled by Muammar Gaddafi. This type

A common theme among the concerns of today s American citizens is that of
obesity. Obesity, identifiable by abnormal fat accumulation, can be defined in
absolute terms by one who has a Body Mass Index (BMI) over 30. It is estimated
that over 30 percent of American adults are clinically obese. This number has shown
a dramatic increase from the 15 percent of American adults suffering from obesity in
1980. Globally, 400 million adults are obese, while predictions place this number at
700 million by 2015. The major issue confronting this adiposity is the health
conditions that accompany states of extreme obesity. These include cardiovascular
diseases, diabetes, sleep apnea, and osteoarthritis among others. The escalating
number of obese and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
* These microorganisms help in extracting calories from polysaccharides in our
diet. * They are able to break up polysaccharides that we would otherwise not be
able to hydrolyze. * Studies in mice, which also have large numbers of microbes
living in their guts, have shown that there may be a link between storing energy as
fat and microbial activity. * It is thought that the microbes regulate the expression
of the gut protein fasting induced adipocyte protein (FIAF). This protein is an
inhibitor of lipoprotein lipase (LPL). * If the microbes suppress FIAF, then the
level of LPL increases. * Increased LPL levels enhance fat storage (make an
individual fatter). * There exists a highly adapted range of bacteria present in the
human gut that are inherited maternally.
The hypothesis:
Obesity may be linked to differences in the microbial makeup of each individual.
Individuals prone to obesity may possess microbes that are more efficient at
extracting energy from food than lean individuals.
Questions addressed by the experiment:
* How does the structure of the gut microbial community differ between individuals?
* Does being a member of the same family affect the microbial community? * Does
obesity affect the community structure? If so, at what taxonomic level does this
occur, and does the gut community

The Official Languages Act is an act that is also established by Pierre Elliott
Trudeau and significantly transitioned Canada effectively. The Official Languages
Act is a law that was established by the government in which gives both French and
English Canadians equal value in Canada. It allows both the English and French
languages to be officially spoken in Canada. The Official Languages Act also gives
citizens the right to express their culture freely. It is vital to me that [the constitution]
does give protection to the kind of linguistic equality that this government has put
into the statutes (The Official Languages Act.). The Canadian Constitution Act

The Quebec Referendum first occurred during the Quebec Sovereignty. The Quebec
Sovereignty is the movement of Quebec declaring independence from Canada.
Throughout Canadian history, the province of Quebec has always wanted to become
independent from Canada. Most citizens of Quebec feel suppressed from Canada as
French is not commonly spoken outside by Canadians outside of Quebec. From the
fall of 1967, when, as federal minister of justice, he had clearly articulated his position
on these questions, to the 1980 referendum, his thinking and priorities had not
changed: they embodied patriation of the constitution, equality between francophones
and anglophones, a charter of rights, and an amending formula granting a right of
veto to Quebec. Pierre Trudeau had intentions in patriating the constitution with the
French and English Canadian s rights and freedoms. During the Quebec referendum
in the year of 1995, the Parti Quebecois asked voters to vote on whether Quebec
should become sovereign or not. As a result, the majority of voters voted against the
Quebec Sovereignty Referendum. Pierre Trudeau strived to defeat the sovereignty
movement and thus, established the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
Trudeau was very passionate and ambitious in transforming Canada into an equal and
humble society.
Man Ray Human Equation Essay
Introduction If you re thinking, Human Equations? Does that mean a bunch of people
got together and formed equations with their body? , you might want to pause and
think about how you got yourself in this situation. If you re thinking, Human
Equations! Weren t they done by famous photographer Man Ray? , you re on the
right track, but not quite there yet. Formally known as Shakespearean Equations, the
Human Equations are a series of paintings where artistic practice meets mathematical
puzzles, human bodies, and merciless romanticism of Shakespeare.
Man Ray s Human Equations are not arranged chronologically; but instead, follow a
structure similar to that of three acts in a play. It shows the full artistic range and
scope of Man Ray s work, from his juvenilia to his late production, and three
overarching themes focus on the material synergy between the works. 14 paintings

The viewer sees King Lear s famous tears speech depicted by means of a diluted
pigment dripping down the canvas and even suspects that this presumably
fortuitous effect provided inspiration for the choice of title (Duggin). You can see
Man Ray s affixing of the canvas to a large wooden hoop a geometric figure known
to mathematicians as a Kummer surface as the artist s attempt to turn the work into
a three dimensional object that, like so much of his work, defies easy
categorization and belies a common perception that his canvases from this series
were simply literal. In essence, Man Ray s King Lear shows off his mathematical
knowledge in the name of artistic independence, all, of course, while depending on a
Shakespearean allusion a paradox neatly holding together right before your eyes

The Little Glass Slipper By Charles Perrault
Fairy tales such as The Little Glass Slipper by Charles Perrault, The Girl with No
Hands by the Grimm Brother and the Disney Movie Cinderella all successfully
convey important and educational messages to their young reads. Many children
are exposed to fairy tale at a young age, and for these children fairy tales play an
important role in the development of their personal morals and values. The Little
Glass Slipper and Cinderellaboth focus on a young girl who is mistreated by her
step mother and step sisters and is later rescued by a prince, The Girl with No
Hands is also about a young girl who is tormented by the devil and gets her hands
cut off. A consistent message that is presented to children through these fairy tales,
both old and modern, is to never lose hope no matter how horrible the situation as
good will always prevail and evil will perish

The Beach Mold
Yes, mold is essential to the well being of our environment and without it, we would
not have life saving antibiotics like penicillin that would exist and scrumptious soft
cheeses like brie would not be here for us to spread on pieces of toasted french bread
that compliment our favorite glass of wine. Moldis necessary for the break down and
decomposition for all of natures organic matter, which helps recycle nutrients as
well as gets rid of the build up of decaying matter and allows new vegetation to
grow. Mold does a lot of good for our planet but unfortunately, it can also cause a lot
of harm, especially if it begins to grow and spread undetected in your home.
Mold spores spread effectively and can t be totally destroyed.

Dry wet areas immediately. Mold can t grow without moisture, so tackle wet areas
right away. Seepage into the basement after a heavy rainfall, accumulation from a
leaky pipe, even a spill on the carpet should be dried within 24 to 48 hours. If you
ve experienced a flood, remove water damaged carpets, bedding, and furniture if
they can t be completely dried. Even everyday occurrences need attention: don t
leave wet items lying around the house, and make sure to dry the floor and walls
after a shower. Don t leave wet clothes in the washing machine, where mold can
spread quickly. Hang them to dry preferably outside or in areas with good air
circulation.
3. Prevent moisture with proper ventilation. It may be that your routine activities are
encouraging the growth of mold in your home. Make sure an activity as simple as
cooking dinner, taking a shower, or doing a load of laundry doesn t invite mold by
providing proper ventilation in your bathroom, kitchen, laundry room, and any other
high moisture area. Your energy efficient home may be holding moisture inside, so
open a window when cooking or washing dishes or showering, or run an exhaust
The Foreclosure Crisis Of Foreclosure
When the real estate value began to drop in 2007, hundreds of thousands of
Americans were evicted from their homes through foreclosure or short sales;
giving way to one of the deepest economic collapses in more than half a century.
Now a large amount of borrowers are starting to bounce back. Like a boomerang,
these battered borrowers are re entering the home market after years of renting,
nursing their credit and saving enough to buy again; but in a economy like this
that we could say now is sort of stable is it smart going all in on another mortgage
or better going with the rent to own .The house market has started to rise again,
and for so saying that, many boomerang buyers are heading back to the housing
market. People who go through foreclosure can rebuild credit records and qualify
for home loans again in three to seven years if they manage their finances well.
With many home prices still at low prices and interest rates near record lows, today
s boomerang buyers might even find their next mortgage more affordable than the
one before. Most of boomerang buyers are around areas such as California and
Arizona where the house market took the hardest hit by foreclosures, and their return
is contributing to rebounds in those markets. Going forward, many growing numbers
of boomerang buyers could help the offset the expected slackening in demand from
investors as home prices start to rise, says Stan Humphries, economist for real estate
website Zillow.
The Security Of The Maritime Environment
The fact that the United States has over 360 seaports is a common statistic that is
thrown around in numerous documents and reports to emphasize the immensity of
providing security in the maritime environment. Adding to the enormity, is the
complexity involved in these seaports because no two establishments are alike in
how they operate. Of course some will be more alike than others, but each of them
will have individual circumstances that will be unique to that facility. Part of the
reason for differences in operation is due to the variety of purposes for which these
ports exist. Some ports focus on passenger cruise vessels or recreational craft, others
strictly on goods and cargo, some have military importance or responsibilities, while

As markets become more closely linked because they are connected to water, and the
sea is the only way to transport bulk cargo cost effectively, the impact that organized
crime has in port facilities is exacerbated. Most of the criminal activity that is taking
place in US port facilities can directly be attributed to organized crime, or at
minimum have links to organized crime.
Crime at US Seaports It is hard to know for sure exactly how severe the crime
problem is at US seaports. According to a report published in 2000 by the
Interagency Commission on Crime and Security in US Seaports, there is no
collection of data or any reporting systems in place that adequately collects and
reports crime by seaports (Commission 2000, 2). However, if the number of people
being arrested and prosecuted as a result of crimes conducted in port facilities is any
reflection of the criminal activity that regularly transpires, then clearly crime is
extensive in port facilities. The prevailing crimes that take place at US port facilities
are drug smuggling, human and alien smuggling, cargo theft, and internal criminal
and commercial conspiracies. These crimes threaten legitimate business for
stakeholders, jeopardize the safety and lives of law abiding citizens, and exposes the
national economy to increased risk.
Drug Smuggling
Drug smuggling is the leading crime occurring in seaports and there is no shortage of
innovation. The most
Physics Of Light And Light
Through the fields incorporating the science of light, astronomers use factors such as
wavelengths to interpret stars temperature, heat, distance, size, mass, density, etc. To
obtain all of this information certain light gathering instruments must be used. These
instruments include telescopes. To record this information spectrographs are also
mainly used to record the spectrum and dispersion of light. In light there are different
waves and particles. Light is made up of electric and magnetic fields. Due to this fact,
light is an example of electromagnetic radiation, it is the changing of these fields to
travel through space shifting energy maneuvering from one area to another. Since
light is an electromagnetic wave, each one has a certain wavelength. Telescopes help
us to view the visible light of the electromagnetic spectrum. Most of the
electromagnetic spectrum, such as infrared, x rays, ultraviolet, and gamma rays,
don t reach earth s surface to be examined. A telescope in space, above the
atmosphere, however, is said to be diffraction limited. Since the speed of light is
constant a wavelength of radiation of a star can be seen as its frequency. Frequency
is recorded based on a certain number of waves emitted within a brief second.
Optical Telescopes have two types: reflecting and refracting. In 1609, Galileo had
developed the first telescope. From here on out, ideas back then of the geocentric
solar system were finally put to rest through the use of the first
Off The Record Messaging Being A Cryptographic Protocol
INTRODUCTION
Off The Record Messaging being a cryptographic protocol is the most commonly
used and famous components of web systems. It works in the way like when two
people chat with each other, new encryption keys are created and destroyed. The
trend of instant messaging has developed since 1995. There is a great property of
OTR i.e. plausible deniability which states that after the chat among any two
people is ended, a certain key (HMAC) is made public, which makes it impossible
to prove that the messages were not gorged by someone else. Off the record
messaging makes our conversations confidential. There are two separate conventions
for informing secure content. First, it builds up a safe session on top of the short
message service using a common mystery. The second one is utilized to build up that
mutual mystery. OTR provides security by the following:
пѓ Chats Encryption
пѓ Proving you that the person with whom you are chatting is really that person.
пѓ Not granting permission to server to access the conversations.
OTR uses forward secrecy. It saves our messages from being decrypted by practising
perfect forward secrecy . It means that you have secrecy today even if your keys
gets comprised in the future. It uses the concept of forward secrecy by using a
different key for every new session and that key is not stored when the session is over.
OTR is just PGP s (Pretty Good Privacy). PGP was designed to provide

When discussing the topic of information security there are many concepts, elements
and topics to discuss. Some of the information to be discussed here are the ten

This is a company that I made up just for name sake of this paper. This is not a
comprehensive list however will point out some of the more important points.
To begin with, any security professional must take in to account the three
fundamentals of principles of Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability (CIA) that
set the security posture for an organizations information security department. Integrity
ensures that unauthorized alteration to information is not made, alterations are not
made by unauthorized personnel, and the information is reliable both internally and
externally. Confidentiality unauthorized release of information, regardless if the
release is internally or externally. Availability for the users to be able to access the
data in a consistent and timely manner that will add value to their job is also
necessary.
The process and choice of classifying information is very important. Data of different
types have different values to the owner of the information. Some data may be of
more value or critical importance than other data. Certain information is therefore
valuable, and if lost could cause great financial loss.
Total Layer IT will classify its information using the terms Public, Sensitive, Private,
and Confidential based on the information s value, age, useful life, and personal
association. Based upon the business needs certain groups will have access to these
various levels of information.
Justice And Vengeance In The Film Dust

good always wins. Justice in every movie always wins. Vengeance will never

everyone, they will make everyone suffer because they didn t find happiness and
never forgave the person who didn t give them the happiness.
For example back in the day there were racism, racism was really intense. The
African American people had a lot of anger towards the white people. The white
people treated the African American s like they were bad people because they were
colored people. Whites wouldn t serve African American s food in specific restraint.

In the movie Dust there is racism between the Mexicans and the whites. There is a
man name Luis , Luis was driving drunk late at night and there was a little girl
walking. Luis accidently killed the little girl. Luis was sent to jail. He was also
supposed to hang him self in front the little girls family and the whole city. A day
before the execution Luis s father wanted to help luis and his father asked the little
girls family to not kill his son take him instead. The family said we have a funeral
to go to. Thank you . Luis father was really wanting to help Luis. Sikes told a little
girl to tell Luis father that if he comes and gets 100 pesos he will have magic dust
to help save Luis. The next day came along and it was time for the execution. Luis
father came running to Sikes with the pesos, Sikes gave him the magic dust. Luis
father ran down to the execution and was throwing the dust at the crowed saying
Its Magic! everyone started to laugh at him even Sikes. Luis told his father to go
home, then we hear a sound like Luis fell and died. The rope broke so he landed on
the ground. They asked little girls family if they should still execute Luis. The
mother says No! there s enough people that died. The little girls family forgave
Luis and let him go home. Forgiveness will make you a better person in life.
Revenge will make people not like you and will not be a good person only if they
change and forgive. Another example is in the movie Count Of Monte Cirsto .
Monte Cirsto showed forgiveness to the men that stole his kingdom and locked him
up in a dungeon. No matter what people do to you, you should always show that you
are a better person if u forgive and forget. Justice will always defeat vengeance.
Vengeance show how less of a good person you truly

Location Convenience Is An Important Factor When

Introduction Location convenience is an important factor when customers select
a financial institution (see Mylonakis et al. 1998; Driscoll 1999). A customer may
find a bank convenient if it has a branch or an Automated Teller Machine (ATM)
near his / her residence or workplace, say within 2 Km1. To stay competitive, banks
usually attempt to increase convenience (be as close as possible to customers) by
expanding their bank and / or ATM networks. Basically, such expansions could be
done in at least two ways (see Birkin et al 2002a): by building branches / installing
ATMs in new locations (so called organic growth); or by acquiring an existing (e.g.
competitor, partner, etc.) network. The former option is likely to be expensive and
time consuming, so many banks resort to acquiring or partnering with already
established ATM and / or branch networks. Although the second option is a
relatively quick way to increase network coverage, an acquired branch / ATM
network is unlikely to be a perfect complement to an existing 1 ATMs are common
in the USA (and much of the world). Customers can use ATMs to access their bank
accounts to obtain cash money or check available funds, etc. ATMs are available in

reference to a time when the narrator s husband Paul s tools and tubing were taken

more emotional aspect, of the government not only instilling fear within you, but
keeping you away from things you enjoy. Not only that, but they can prompt such

The Ironic Strategies Of Brutus And Mark Antony
The rhetorical tricks used by Brutus and Mark Antony in their speeches, in act three
scene two of the play, The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, by Shakespeare, cause reactions
in the crowd that affect the plot of play by creating chaos with mob mentality, causing
war and death.
Although the styles of the two speeches vary greatly, both Brutus and Mark Antony
each use their speech to manipulate the crowd of plebeians into group thinkers who
believe in their respective causes; Brutus is persuading for abounding support, while
Antony for amplified angry chaos. In their speeches, both Brutus and Mark Antony
persuade the people of their respective causes, and they do so by connecting with the
people and convincing them as group thinkers. Brutus ... Show more content on

Unlike Brutus prose speech, Mark Antony s speech is in blank verse, which is
used in more passionate writing. Antony s speech subtly disproves Brutus while
heightening the crowd s emotions to rage. Antony mentions times in which Caesar
s actions did not portray ambition, and then following each example, he says, Yet
Brutus says he was ambitious, / and Brutus is an honorable man (86 88, 93 94, 98
99). This use of epimone subtly disproves Brutus, and starts to turn the crowd
against him, because it not only shows Brutus in bad light, but also makes it seem
like the people conclude this on their own, even though Antony s manipulations are
very much at play. Antony appeals to pathos when he addresses the crowd, saying:
hearing the will of Caesar, / It will inflame you; it will make you mad (3.2.42 43).
He then uses paralipsis when he o ersho[o]t[s] [him]self (150) by saying Tis good
you know not that you are his heirs (line 145), which escalates the crowd s love for
Caesar and hatred toward his assassinators: [The conspirators] were villains,
murderers! (155). To heighten the rage against the conspirators even more, Antony
shows the crowd of plebeians Caesar s dead body, and Caesar s famous cloak now
run through by knives: Look, in this place ran Cassius dagger through. / See what a
rent the envious Casca made. / Through this the well belovГЁd Brutus stabbed (172
175). By mentioning the conspirators names, Antony creates a hatred of those men
and their followers. Also, by showing the crowd Caesar s cloak, which he obtained
after conquering a tribe, Antony reminds the crowd both how great Caesar was and
how horribly wrong it was that his greatness was shredded by the knives of traitors.
Antony continues his expression of Caesar s
Critique Of Piano Critique
For my piano critique, I went to see Sean Cavanaugh with accompaniment of
Dominic Muzzi, play Ludwig van Beethoven s Concerto No. 1 in C Major, Op. 15.
This recital was performed on campus, in Recital Hall November 6, 2017 at 8:30pm.
Both Cavanaugh and Muzzi performed their portion of the piece on the piano.
Cavanaugh was the lead pianist, so he had the piano closer to the audience while
Muzzi was farther back. Something that I found interesting, was that Muzzi was
dressed in all dark colors, while Cavanaugh wore a white collared shirt. This choice
in outfit definitely drew the audience s attention to Cavanaugh as the lead pianist,
while helping Muzzi blend into the background. This denotation of Cavanaugh as the
lead was continued in the bows, where Cavanaugh would always stand partially in
front of Muzzi.
Both pianist performed very well together. I noticed that they would give each other
nonverbal cues like nods or glances to indicate when they were finishing their part or
when the other should respond. This communication served really well, as both
pianists complimented each other and timed their playing near perfectly.
Cavanaugh was very animated while playing. His head would bob with the music
and during the dramatic low notes of the music, sometimes he would play those with
his whole body, coming up slightly off the chair to add to the force of the sound.
Muzzi would also bob his head along to the music, but not nearly as energetically as
Cavanaugh did.

Finding a unique untampered with piece of pottery is a simple task when

being unbroken and resisting change; To vessels willing to be moldable and
embrace the defeat God is calling them to endure. Throughout life God slowly
scrapes away the old and begins to show glimpses of the new person being molded.
In A Tale Of Three Kings the author depicts a great point in saying, God did not have

Utopia society where farming was vital. I agree with Utopia theory because if one
day they decide not to provide people with food, you need to know how to farm to
provide food for yourself and family. (More, 2011) More s book resonates with Plato
s in a number of ways, but the most striking feature that the Utopia republic shares
with Plato s pattern for an ideal state is communism. (101, Plato)
Plato theory was, neither should they have a private house or
Freedom Is Free From Slavery In The United States
Freedom is free will. Free from slavery. We get personal liberty. I think freedom
means that we all have the power to act. The reason we are free is because in 1766
The Declaration of Independence was signed also The Declaration of Human
Rights was signed in 1948. We are also free because the US and British fought for
7 years until the US won our freedom. We are proud to be Americans because we
are free and some other countries aren t allowed to have free will. An example is
the Taliban taking over and controlling most of Afghanistan. I feel that the
Afghanistan people should be able to control the own countries. I feel that all
people should be free wherever they live. All of the terror attacks have affected us all

Richard Webster Murder Essay
I, Detective Wilde, am being assigned the opportunity of a lifetime! Solving the
murder of Richard Webster is what s going to determine whether I receive a
spotlight in the newspaper. Business has been slow lately so this will help pick it
up. Ahead of the interrogation, I gathered data on the victim and each of the suspects.
Some background research shows that the Webster Network of co workers are
troubled: Richard, a class A jerk, Hugh, a broken businessman, Rita, in a troublesome
relationship, H.T., a misanthrope, Dee, too loyal, Del, a sloth and victims cousin,
Justin, once jailed for computer hacking. I am going to tactfully style my questions
so they will be spouting a fountain of truth. According to my calculations, everyone

I looked on as Del Packard struggled with the police about getting into the car. The
people who had gathered around to watch the action asked about what had
occurred and how I managed to figure it out. I repeated the story of the murder out
loud as I had practiced multiple times before in my head. Del was worried about
Rich removing him from his will taking with it the only life he knew and treasured.
He figured the only way to fix the problem was to kill. (People nowadays!)
Anyway, he had been learning and mastering the skill of mind control and decided
to test it out on a fellow who would be the least likely to be suspected. Dee! During
this time, a meeting had been occurring between Hugh, Justin, and Dee. Dee
needed help to debug the system but what Justin planned was to steal the whole
program. Justin went to talk to Rita at the same time that Dee took a bathroom
break . She made sure that H.T. was preoccupied and put on gloves to leave no
trace behind. Mind you, she was being manipulated by Del the whole time. Before
the murder, Rita had drugged Rich so that Justin was able to steal the program. Her
reason for betrayal was because he had been the one to break it off, leaving her the
one with hurt feelings. I guess that never settles well with ferocious sirens like her.
Dee came in soon after Rita and finished up the job by strangling Rich with a mouse
cord and punching the daylight out of him. She drops the gloves underneath Hugh s
bed and returns to the meeting. It continues until everyone has returned to their
places. Dee, having lost all memory of her actions goes to ask a question from Rich.
She screams and everyone runs over. And that s where my story begins. It was quite
hard to piece together the parts but when it is done, it is refreshing! So when are

  • 1. Reaction Essay Topics Writing an essay on the topic of "Reaction Essay Topics" can be both challenging and intriguing. The difficulty lies in the need to strike a balance between personal reflection and objective analysis. Unlike other essay types that may require a more straightforward approach, a reaction essay demands the writer to articulate their thoughts and feelings while also providing a thoughtful response to a given stimulus. One of the challenges is navigating the fine line between subjectivity and objectivity. While the essay is a reflection of personal reactions, it is crucial to support these reactions with well- reasoned arguments and evidence. This demands a thorough understanding of the topic and the ability to express one's thoughts coherently. Additionally, selecting an appropriate reaction essay topic is critical. The chosen subject should be compelling enough to evoke genuine reactions, yet not so overwhelming that it becomes challenging to articulate a coherent response. Striking the right balance between personal engagement and maintaining an academic tone adds another layer of complexity to the writing process. Furthermore, crafting a well-structured essay requires organizing thoughts in a logical sequence. A successful reaction essay should include an introduction that captures the reader's attention, a body that delves into the reactions with supporting evidence, and a conclusion that ties everything together. Transitioning smoothly between personal insights and broader analysis requires finesse and careful consideration. In conclusion, writing a reaction essay on the topic of "Reaction Essay Topics" demands a blend of introspection, analytical thinking, and effective communication skills. It is a task that challenges writers to express their personal reactions while substantiating them with well- reasoned arguments. However, with careful planning and dedication, navigating through this challenge can lead to a compelling and thought-provoking essay. • 2. Dunbarton by Robert Lowell Essay Dunbarton by Robert Lowell is one of the poems from his Life Studies book. It s a short poem of only two pages but it has very deep meaning. The poem alludes to the poet s relationship with his grandfather. In this essay I will analyze this piece in detail and talk about the author s connection with his grandfather. Robert Lowell prefers the use of free verse for his poems. He doesn t use a specific style for this piece; it is more free styled. He uses poetic language but there is no metered rhythm in the poem. Lowell even said once in an interview: Prose is in many ways better off than poetry...I thought poetry was getting increasingly stifling. I couldn t get my experiences into tight metrical forms (J. Myers and D. Wojahn, p.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is a good pre setting for this poem. The reader is told right away that the two had a good relationship and love. At the same time, it gives the reader a feeling of something not very real but of some other world. Though grandparents love their grandchildren, they do not usually prefer their company to the society. Nevertheless, Lowell considered his grandfather his dad. Even his family members, when they said your Father (Line 9), meant his grandfather. The reason is that his real dad was a navy officer and was always away from home: Daddy was still on sea duty in the Pacific (Line 5). In the beginning of the second paragraph, he says: He was my father. I was his son (Line 10). This shows that the love was mutual between the grandson to the grandfather and vice versa. By mentioning both relationships, he puts extra focus on that fact. The seventh and the last paragraphs of the poem talk about the author s feelings: paramour (Line 58). In those paragraphs, he shows the reader that in some way, he was intimidated by his grandfather. Lowell describes his grandfather s crutch as ...more a weapon than a crutch (Line 49). There are names and altitudes of all the mountains the grandfather had climbed. The author, of course, respects his grandfather but also feels insignificant compared to him. It also shows when he says that he liked to cuddle with the grandfather: In the mornings I
  • 3. Love Is The Type Of Love Love, a combination of strong emotions, concerns, and desires one feels for another human being. It could be shown by ones behavior and sexual attraction towards the person whom they love. There are many facets of love that was described within the text such as passionate, unrequited, companionate, consummate loveand many others. The love type of relationship that I would be focusing on is an intimate partner kind of love. According to Sternberg, the ideal kind of love which consist of intimacy, commitment and passion is consummate love. Consummate love is the type of love everyone yearns. I believe I had found this type of love with my husband of four years. We are very intimate, compatible, committed, and passionate for one another. I couldn t have picked a better partner to fit my ideal of a soulmate and I thank God for him every day. After completing both questionnaires; the Hendricks Styles of Love and the Sternberg s Triangular Model of love . I was curious to see what my scores entails and whether my two separate scores would be similar to one another. It also made me to reminisce back to when my husband and I first met and the kind of feelings I had then compared to now. According to the Hendricks Styles of Love scale, I believe my score is relatively correct in a way. This particular questionnaire scale has six subscales; Eros, Ludus, Storge, Prama, Mania and agape to interpret each categories. My Eros, Storge, Pragma, mania and agape scores were all

  • 5. The Prevalence of Younger Students Lying to Health... Communication is a functional, purposeful, and strategic aspect of human socialization. Individuals have the ability make conscious decisions to control their expressive language to manipulate the perceived interpretations of others (Burgoon, Callister, Hunsaker, 445). As people acquire language, they develop sensitivity to the Gricean maxims of conversation. The first of these maxims is Quantity I , or the failure to provide enough information. The second of these maxims is Quantity II , or the provision of too much or redundant information. The third of these maxims is Quality , or veracity (Siegal, Iozzi, and Surian, 2009). These three Gricean maxims of conversation alone encompass the prevalence of various forms of lying in the context of human communication. The significance of lying is that it can change various outcomes that negatively impact various circumstances. In the realm of health care, patients may lieto health professionals for a number of reasons including to acquire unnecessary or excessive medications, to avoid embarrassment or judgment, and to reduce expensive medical charges that may accumulate over time. No matter how well intentioned the doctor faced with a patient in need of help may be, it is he who has the advantage resulting from the knowledge he has (the truth) and his skills: a disproportion occurs between these two parties (Tanasiewicz, 2005, 16). Regardless of the motivation patients may have for lying, they may be jeopardizing

Mysticism is interpreted as searching for spiritual truth and wisdom through the unification with the Divine. Many Christians today believe that the words associated with mysticism like meditation and mystic are not coherently related with Christianity , but more with many Eastern religions. Eastern religions are definitely known for their mysticism, but it is believed to not be a part of Christianity. Some believe there are two ways of interpreting the religious proposition of mysticism. One is the indirect experience of God. It takes the form of reported mystical experiences, which are believed to be the experiences of the foundations for what a mystical experience is all about. The other is the intellectual aspect. Individuals believe that as a result of the mystical experience, a better knowing and revelations are attained from the mystical experience. Jesus Christ is believed to be the son the God and is believed to have said that to be close to God one must look into his or her inner self, not in how much time you devote to God, or the places you praise him in. The Christian concept of the mystical union can be defined as the search for and experience of an intimacy with God through Jesus Christ. The experience of the mystical union represents the total absorption of the humankind to the point, that it loses itself in the communion with God. Another characteristic of the Christian mystical union is the concept of a spiritual or heavenly marriage. The use of the image of sacred and spiritual marriage between God and one s soul is a symbolization of the mystical union. The idea of a wedding is the biblical metaphor of the Jewish covenant between Israel and God. The ultimate goal of the mystical experience is the union between oneself and the divine presence and of the contemplative way. The mystical union is arrived at in stages of

It marked her third failed attempt to win a 22nd singles Grand Slam title, which would tie the Open era record set by Steffi Graf. Williams was extremely gracious in defeat as she addressed the crowd at Roland Garros in French. The tennis icon can afford to be gracious these days: She earned $28.9 million over the past 12 months. The authoritarian ruler stayed in power for four decades until 2011 when he was killed in an armed rebellion assisted by Western military intervention. Like a boomerang, these battered borrowers are re entering the home market after years of renting, nursing their credit and saving enough to buy again; but in a economy like this that we could say now is sort of stable is it smart going all in on another mortgage or better going with the rent to own .The house market has started to rise again, and for so saying that, many boomerang buyers are heading back to the housing market. Of course some will be more alike than others, but each of them will have individual circumstances that will be unique to that facility. Part of the reason for differences in operation is due to the variety of purposes for which these ports exist. Some ports focus on passenger cruise vessels or recreational craft, others strictly on goods and cargo, some have military importance or responsibilities, while ... As markets become more closely linked because they are connected to water, and the sea is the only way to transport bulk cargo cost effectively, the impact that organized crime has in port facilities is exacerbated. Most of the criminal activity that is taking place in US port facilities can directly be attributed to organized crime, or at minimum have links to organized crime. Crime at US Seaports It is hard to know for sure exactly how severe the crime problem is at US seaports. According to a report published in 2000 by the Interagency Commission on Crime and Security in US Seaports, there is no collection of data or any reporting systems in place that adequately collects and reports crime by seaports (Commission 2000, 2). However, if the number of people being arrested and prosecuted as a result of crimes conducted in port facilities is any reflection of the criminal activity that regularly transpires, then clearly crime is extensive in port facilities. The prevailing crimes that take place at US port facilities are drug smuggling, human and alien smuggling, cargo theft, and internal criminal and commercial conspiracies. These crimes threaten legitimate business for stakeholders, jeopardize the safety and lives of law abiding citizens, and exposes the national economy to increased risk. Drug Smuggling Drug smuggling is the leading crime occurring in seaports and there is no shortage of innovation. The most
  • 28. Physics Of Light And Light Through the fields incorporating the science of light, astronomers use factors such as wavelengths to interpret stars temperature, heat, distance, size, mass, density, etc. To obtain all of this information certain light gathering instruments must be used. These instruments include telescopes. To record this information spectrographs are also mainly used to record the spectrum and dispersion of light. In light there are different waves and particles. Light is made up of electric and magnetic fields. Due to this fact, light is an example of electromagnetic radiation, it is the changing of these fields to travel through space shifting energy maneuvering from one area to another. Since light is an electromagnetic wave, each one has a certain wavelength. Telescopes help us to view the visible light of the electromagnetic spectrum. Most of the electromagnetic spectrum, such as infrared, x rays, ultraviolet, and gamma rays, don t reach earth s surface to be examined. A telescope in space, above the atmosphere, however, is said to be diffraction limited. Since the speed of light is constant a wavelength of radiation of a star can be seen as its frequency. Frequency is recorded based on a certain number of waves emitted within a brief second. Optical Telescopes have two types: reflecting and refracting. In 1609, Galileo had developed the first telescope. From here on out, ideas back then of the geocentric solar system were finally put to rest through the use of the first
  • 29. Off The Record Messaging Being A Cryptographic Protocol INTRODUCTION Off The Record Messaging being a cryptographic protocol is the most commonly used and famous components of web systems. It works in the way like when two people chat with each other, new encryption keys are created and destroyed. The trend of instant messaging has developed since 1995. There is a great property of OTR i.e. plausible deniability which states that after the chat among any two people is ended, a certain key (HMAC) is made public, which makes it impossible to prove that the messages were not gorged by someone else. Off the record messaging makes our conversations confidential. There are two separate conventions for informing secure content. First, it builds up a safe session on top of the short message service using a common mystery. The second one is utilized to build up that mutual mystery. OTR provides security by the following: пѓ Chats Encryption пѓ Proving you that the person with whom you are chatting is really that person. пѓ Not granting permission to server to access the conversations. OTR uses forward secrecy. It saves our messages from being decrypted by practising perfect forward secrecy . It means that you have secrecy today even if your keys gets comprised in the future. It uses the concept of forward secrecy by using a different key for every new session and that key is not stored when the session is over. OTR is just PGP s (Pretty Good Privacy). PGP was designed to provide

In writing this paper I spoke with Security Analysis and IT Security Policy Manager at my place of employment when researching this paper. They gave me some insightful direction as to the information, where to look for information and the important security issues to reference. Working in IT for the last 10 years I have also had to deal with many of these policies first hand. Additionally, I referenced the PowerPoints presented in class and The CISSP and CAP Prep Guide: Platinum Edition that I purchased and used for the quiz in class. When discussing the topic of information security there are many concepts, elements and topics to discuss. Some of the information to be discussed here are the ten domains of Computer Information Systems ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is a company that I made up just for name sake of this paper. This is not a comprehensive list however will point out some of the more important points. To begin with, any security professional must take in to account the three fundamentals of principles of Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability (CIA) that set the security posture for an organizations information security department. Integrity ensures that unauthorized alteration to information is not made, alterations are not made by unauthorized personnel, and the information is reliable both internally and externally. Confidentiality unauthorized release of information, regardless if the release is internally or externally. Availability for the users to be able to access the data in a consistent and timely manner that will add value to their job is also necessary. The process and choice of classifying information is very important. Data of different types have different values to the owner of the information. Some data may be of more value or critical importance than other data. Certain information is therefore valuable, and if lost could cause great financial loss. Total Layer IT will classify its information using the terms Public, Sensitive, Private, and Confidential based on the information s value, age, useful life, and personal association. Based upon the business needs certain groups will have access to these various levels of information.
  • 32. Justice And Vengeance In The Film Dust Justice will over rule vengeance and will always have power over revenge because good always wins. Justice in every movie always wins. Vengeance will never succeed and be happy, justice has happiness. Revenge has a lot of hatred towards everyone, they will make everyone suffer because they didn t find happiness and never forgave the person who didn t give them the happiness. For example back in the day there were racism, racism was really intense. The African American people had a lot of anger towards the white people. The white people treated the African American s like they were bad people because they were colored people. Whites wouldn t serve African American s food in specific restraint. He was also supposed to hang him self in front the little girls family and the whole city. A day before the execution Luis s father wanted to help luis and his father asked the little girls family to not kill his son take him instead. The family said we have a funeral to go to. Thank you . Luis father was really wanting to help Luis. Sikes told a little girl to tell Luis father that if he comes and gets 100 pesos he will have magic dust to help save Luis. The next day came along and it was time for the execution. Luis father came running to Sikes with the pesos, Sikes gave him the magic dust. Luis father ran down to the execution and was throwing the dust at the crowed saying Its Magic! everyone started to laugh at him even Sikes. Luis told his father to go home, then we hear a sound like Luis fell and died. The rope broke so he landed on the ground. They asked little girls family if they should still execute Luis. The mother says No! there s enough people that died. The little girls family forgave Luis and let him go home. Forgiveness will make you a better person in life. Revenge will make people not like you and will not be a good person only if they change and forgive. Another example is in the movie Count Of Monte Cirsto . Monte Cirsto showed forgiveness to the men that stole his kingdom and locked him up in a dungeon. No matter what people do to you, you should always show that you are a better person if u forgive and forget. Justice will always defeat vengeance. Vengeance show how less of a good person you truly

Introduction Location convenience is an important factor when customers select a financial institution (see Mylonakis et al. 1998; Driscoll 1999). A customer may find a bank convenient if it has a branch or an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) near his / her residence or workplace, say within 2 Km1. To stay competitive, banks usually attempt to increase convenience (be as close as possible to customers) by expanding their bank and / or ATM networks. Basically, such expansions could be done in at least two ways (see Birkin et al 2002a): by building branches / installing ATMs in new locations (so called organic growth); or by acquiring an existing (e.g. competitor, partner, etc.) network. The former option is likely to be expensive and time consuming, so many banks resort to acquiring or partnering with already established ATM and / or branch networks. Although the second option is a relatively quick way to increase network coverage, an acquired branch / ATM network is unlikely to be a perfect complement to an existing 1 ATMs are common in the USA (and much of the world). Customers can use ATMs to access their bank accounts to obtain cash money or check available funds, etc. ATMs are available in banks and in facilities such as malls, shopping centers, gas stations, parking facilities, etc. 3 network, due to possible coverage overlap and / or lack of coverage. Quote 2: He [Paul] took the brandy into the kitchen and locked himself in. This is a quote in reference to a time when the narrator s husband Paul s tools and tubing were taken away. Paul enjoyed making things and two men came in and took away all his things because of black marketeering. This prompted Paul to locked himself in a room with brandy. This shows again the control of the state, and how abruptly they can take away things you love. This is particularly important because it explores a more emotional aspect, of the government not only instilling fear within you, but keeping you away from things you enjoy. Not only that, but they can prompt such a response from you causing you to isolate yourself and resort to forms of escapism such as alcoholism. This alcoholism causes a strain on the relationship between the narrator and Paul. Compare this to the first few pages of the novel whenever Paul s out on the town, barhopping late at night, I m afraid he ll never come home again. Showing no progression in his drinking over the course of the time he is being controlled and his wife is being constantly questioned. He even says he does it to protect his soul. • 37. The Ironic Strategies Of Brutus And Mark Antony The rhetorical tricks used by Brutus and Mark Antony in their speeches, in act three scene two of the play, The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, by Shakespeare, cause reactions in the crowd that affect the plot of play by creating chaos with mob mentality, causing war and death. Although the styles of the two speeches vary greatly, both Brutus and Mark Antony each use their speech to manipulate the crowd of plebeians into group thinkers who believe in their respective causes; Brutus is persuading for abounding support, while Antony for amplified angry chaos. In their speeches, both Brutus and Mark Antony persuade the people of their respective causes, and they do so by connecting with the people and convincing them as group thinkers. Brutus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unlike Brutus prose speech, Mark Antony s speech is in blank verse, which is used in more passionate writing. Antony s speech subtly disproves Brutus while heightening the crowd s emotions to rage. Antony mentions times in which Caesar s actions did not portray ambition, and then following each example, he says, Yet Brutus says he was ambitious, / and Brutus is an honorable man (86 88, 93 94, 98 99). This use of epimone subtly disproves Brutus, and starts to turn the crowd against him, because it not only shows Brutus in bad light, but also makes it seem like the people conclude this on their own, even though Antony s manipulations are very much at play. Antony appeals to pathos when he addresses the crowd, saying: hearing the will of Caesar, / It will inflame you; it will make you mad (3.2.42 43). He then uses paralipsis when he o ersho[o]t[s] [him]self (150) by saying Tis good you know not that you are his heirs (line 145), which escalates the crowd s love for Caesar and hatred toward his assassinators: [The conspirators] were villains, murderers! (155). To heighten the rage against the conspirators even more, Antony shows the crowd of plebeians Caesar s dead body, and Caesar s famous cloak now run through by knives: Look, in this place ran Cassius dagger through. / See what a rent the envious Casca made. / Through this the well belovГЁd Brutus stabbed (172 175). By mentioning the conspirators names, Antony creates a hatred of those men and their followers. Also, by showing the crowd Caesar s cloak, which he obtained after conquering a tribe, Antony reminds the crowd both how great Caesar was and how horribly wrong it was that his greatness was shredded by the knives of traitors. Antony continues his expression of Caesar s
  • 38. Critique Of Piano Critique For my piano critique, I went to see Sean Cavanaugh with accompaniment of Dominic Muzzi, play Ludwig van Beethoven s Concerto No. 1 in C Major, Op. 15. This recital was performed on campus, in Recital Hall November 6, 2017 at 8:30pm. Both Cavanaugh and Muzzi performed their portion of the piece on the piano. Cavanaugh was the lead pianist, so he had the piano closer to the audience while Muzzi was farther back. Something that I found interesting, was that Muzzi was dressed in all dark colors, while Cavanaugh wore a white collared shirt. This choice in outfit definitely drew the audience s attention to Cavanaugh as the lead pianist, while helping Muzzi blend into the background. This denotation of Cavanaugh as the lead was continued in the bows, where Cavanaugh would always stand partially in front of Muzzi. Both pianist performed very well together. I noticed that they would give each other nonverbal cues like nods or glances to indicate when they were finishing their part or when the other should respond. This communication served really well, as both pianists complimented each other and timed their playing near perfectly. Cavanaugh was very animated while playing. His head would bob with the music and during the dramatic low notes of the music, sometimes he would play those with his whole body, coming up slightly off the chair to add to the force of the sound. Muzzi would also bob his head along to the music, but not nearly as energetically as Cavanaugh did.

I looked on as Del Packard struggled with the police about getting into the car. The people who had gathered around to watch the action asked about what had occurred and how I managed to figure it out. I repeated the story of the murder out loud as I had practiced multiple times before in my head. Del was worried about Rich removing him from his will taking with it the only life he knew and treasured. He figured the only way to fix the problem was to kill. (People nowadays!) Anyway, he had been learning and mastering the skill of mind control and decided to test it out on a fellow who would be the least likely to be suspected. Dee! During this time, a meeting had been occurring between Hugh, Justin, and Dee. Dee needed help to debug the system but what Justin planned was to steal the whole program. Justin went to talk to Rita at the same time that Dee took a bathroom break . She made sure that H.T. was preoccupied and put on gloves to leave no trace behind. Mind you, she was being manipulated by Del the whole time. Before the murder, Rita had drugged Rich so that Justin was able to steal the program. Her reason for betrayal was because he had been the one to break it off, leaving her the one with hurt feelings. I guess that never settles well with ferocious sirens like her. Dee came in soon after Rita and finished up the job by strangling Rich with a mouse cord and punching the daylight out of him. She drops the gloves underneath Hugh s bed and returns to the meeting. It continues until everyone has returned to their places. Dee, having lost all memory of her actions goes to ask a question from Rich. She screams and everyone runs over.
