Marriage Private By Stephanie Coontz
For the past, few centuries the concept of marriage has become a matter of church and state. Those
who wish to become a married couple within the United States must get permission from the states by
obtaining a marriage license. According to Taking Marriage Private by Stephanie Coontz for sixteen
centuries marriage was valid based upon the couples wishes. If both the man and women claimed they
had exchanged vows, then the Catholic Church would recognize it as a valid marriage. Today all states
require that a couple obtain a marriage license from the state if they want the marriage to be legal and
valid in the eyes of the state. Taking Marriage Private by Stephanie Coontz discusses the concept of
private marriage and the history of it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the United States Constitution, the Ninth Amendment is often forgotten or not commonly taught.
The ninth amendment is often denoted as Enumeration of Rights. This amendment outlines the human
rights that were not written or protected by the Constitution or the Bill of Rights. Marriage is a right.
Everybody and anybody should have the right to marriage. Putting rules and regulations on marriage
is a clear violation of the United States Constitution and a clear violation of our unalienable rights.
Marriage has only become a way for the government to collect extra tax money and fees. Marriage is
only a business for the government. Instead of marriage being a civil union of a man and a woman. It
is a union between a man, woman, and government. For many gay, bisexual, or lesbian couples
privatizing marriage would allow them to marry who they want freely without any government say.
Therefore, no institution will be able deny marriage to nontraditional marriage couples because of
personal beliefs of government employees or because of state laws. Supporters of marriage
privatization believe it is a very personal thing between two people who want celebrate their life
together. Marriage after all is a celebration of the connection between one another. Anybody should be
able to marry whoever they want without having to worry about what the government would say about
that marriage. Rather if it is right or wrong. The government shouldn t interfere with marriage no

Are The Core Competencies Cause The Internal And External...
Yes, Uber has many different divisions, that allow for the organization to best meet the needs for the
market. By having definite divisions, it allows Uber to specifically state the roles of that division.
Therefore, it allows for accountability to be taken by each division. Responsibility can be taken by
that area. Relating to organization culture, it allows for Uber to create subcultures internally that
allows that division to best reach their goals. Most importantly, it allows for organizational efficiency.
By having so many divisions, Uber can quickly reach the needs of the internal and external
stakeholders.
According to the textbook, a core competency is a manager s skills and abilities in value creation
activities such as manufacturing, R D, managing new technology and organizational design and
change. (pg.12) These core competencies cause a competitive advantage which is the ability of one
company to outperform another because its managers are able to create more value from the resources
at their disposal (pg. 12). Uber s core competency is creating a customer user face that is universally
functional. Their applications allow for access to both high and low end services that are reliable such
UberX and UberBlack. Also, the overall business operation is capable for their services and competent
in their management relationships. Another core competency is the way in which Uber delivers its ride

The most clinically effective treatments for cancer were ironically incredibly detrimental to the human
body s health. These included, chemotherapy and radiation. These two methods did in fact destroy the
malignant cells yet also caused apoptosis in healthy cells damaging them beyond repair and thus
causing a great detriment to the patients health. However, recently, due to the endeavours of
nanotechnology, it has been discovered that carbon nanotubes can effectively carry anti cancer drugs

Nanotechnology is the design, characterisation, production and application of structure, devices or
systems by controlled manipulation of size and shape at the nanoscale. (Nanomed, 2005) This should
produce a structure or device with at least one new or superior characteristic. The nanoscale is less
than 100nm. CNTs have shown a great deal of potential use as nano carriers for delivering anti cancer
drugs directly to the sight of action. However, CNTs must be functionalized, as pure CNTs are
difficult to incorporate into biological structures due to their insolubility and their tendency to bundle
up. There are two main ways to functionalize CNTs yet the best method is by oxidation leading to
carboxyl based couplings. The tube caps openings are created and holes in the side wall form by
process of oxidation involving strong acids. These carboxylic group allow covalent coupling with
other molecules by amide or ester bonds (see figure 2.1) as a result, CNTs can be conjugated with anti
cancer drugs. It is a benefit to functionalize CNTs as functionalized CNTs have been shown in many
studies to be able to cross cell membranes (Pantarotte et al.) this means that CNTs can now be used to
deliver anti cancer drugs into direct cells.
Now that CNTs can be used in biological structures, there are three methods of incorporating the drugs
to the CNT. These are by attachment of the drug to the outer surface; covalent or non covalent
bonding. Or, loading the CNTs

Essay On The Great Gatsby As A Tragic Hero
Sam Winchester, Elena Gilbert, Walter White, Sirus Black, Peta Mellark, Jean Valjean, and Jay
Gatsby, what do all these characters have in common? They are all tragic heroes. A tragic hero is a
character that has a fatal flaw, or tragic flaw, that keeps them from perfection. From HBO shows to
classic literature, writers have been breaking hearts with tragic heroes for years! Even the title tragic
hero sounds melodramatic. According to Aristotle, a tragic hero should have certain traits. He decided
that they should be pitied, they should disrespect the natural order, reverse their fate, have a tragic
flaw, make an important discovery, and be put in an unavoidable situation (Meirow). In the book, The
Great Gatsby, while Jay Gatsby is frantically searching for the American Dream, he displays each of
the previous traits. His tragic flaw ends up killing him and affecting those close to him.
In the story, readers pity Mr. Gatsby, because he lost his love. Gatsby is most famous for his incessant
love for Daisy Buchanan. Sadly, he fell in love with her while fighting in World War II, but afterward,
she married another man. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Achievements Of The Mughal Empire
As the Mughal Empire embarks the start to the highest points of tradition and culture in India, this age
began with the creation of India s greatest Empires The Mughals. The Mughal rulers brought India to
its pinnacle of political power, and cultural success (Spielvogel 530). To acknowledge some of the
greatest rulers of the Mughal Empire Babur, Akbar, and Aurangzeb; these rulers created some of the
greatest achievements in India, and some of the greatest controversies as well.
The founder of the Mughal Empire was Babur, who had an esteemed background, in regards to his
family. Babur s father was an Asian conqueror of Tamerlane, and Babur inherited a part of the empire.
At his youth, Babur led a group of soldiers who conquered Kabul in 1504. With Babur s past working
an an authoritative figure for the Tamerlane s Empire, helped him to seize Delhi, and other parts of
North India, until his death in 1530 (Spielvogel 530). However, it was not his revere background that
made Babur a powerful model during this time, it was Babur s resilience and dominance that led India
into one of it s highest peaks. With only twelve thousand troops against a significantly large army,
Babur captured Delhi, and established his rule there (Spielvogel 531). With Babur s explicit
intelligence, and prowess, Babur established himself to be one of the greatest rulers in India, and led
India into a time of achievement and success.

How Did Joseph Stalin Conquer Poland
The devastating attack on Poland was a major factor that dictated the beginning of World War Two
between Germany, Britain, and France. When the Germans decided that they wanted to conquer
Poland, they knew that their actions would provoke the greater superpowers of Europe (Britain and
France), but they were more than ready to combat them. On the other hand, they were more worried
about what Russia s Joseph Stalin was capable of. Ironically, Russia was the one wanting peace when
Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vyacheslav Mikhaylovich Molotov approached German Foreign
Minister Joachim Von Ribbentrop under the direct orders of Stalin on August 23rd, 1939 and
suggested the Nazi Soviet Non Aggression Pact , which stated that Russia would not intervene with

American and African American who are trying to settle down in the new world. Morrison focuses on
the ravages of slavery, both physical and emotional, that plagued the time. More specifically, she

Morrison lets each of her key characters control the narrative at some point in A Mercy. Her choice
with both the treatment of time and the treatment of perspective makes it possible for her to capture
the reader s full attention and leave the reader disoriented and anxious for answers about the upcoming
events in the novel. The conflicts among the characters lay emphasis on novels structure. Morrison
writes each chapter of the book as if it is being told through the point of view of a different character
with only Florens points of view consistently repeating. The sequence of the narrative is as follows:

usually told by one narrator. The opening chapter of the novel is told by Florens point of view who is a
slave on a mission for her mistress. Florens point of view is told as her stream of conscious. This form
of first person narrative does progress in a linear fashion as Florens travels to find the blacksmith lover
who can possibly save her owner from dying of small pox. The last chapter of the novel is also written
as first person point of view by Florens Minha Mae. It is imperative that these chapters be written in

Monica Bing Research Paper
Monica Bing (née Geller) was born to Jack and Judy Geller where she was raised in Long Island, New
York with her older brother Ross. Since her childhood, Monica has always been in the shadow of Ross
to both of her parents, especially their mother. Her mother to this day still knocks Monica down for
everything she does and does not do. Nothing is simply good enough for her mom. Due to her being in
the dark, Monica took out her loneliness with the help of food. This then resulted in Monica becoming

Due to Monica believing that her parents only cared for Ross, Monica always felt alone until food
came into the picture. At any moment food was around she would engulf it. For instance, Ross once
said that if he did not eat fast he was not able to eat at all. Additionally, food was a void to keep her
sad emotions in. For example, she had a flashback of when one of her boyfriend s got called into work
after she worked long and hard on a dinner that she prepared for him. Instead of sulking around, she
just began eating. Furthermore, eating was not the only problem that Monica has to deal with. Similar
to her mother, Monica has always had a problem with being a perfectionist. She has constantly made
cleaning a sport and fun activity to spend her time. Sometimes she rather spends time with her mop
and cleaners than hangout with her friends. Also, cleaning does not just end her perfectionist issue.
Organization is the key to Monica. Without her labeler, who knows how Monica could function the
everyday life. When Chandler was looking for a job, she took it in her best interest to label and file
jobs that he could possibly interview for. Chandler asked her why she did that and her response was so
that she could simply use the labeler. Likewise, she is always concerned about her precious ribbon
draw. Out of the blue, she will freak out if she has the slightest idea that someone could get their hands
on it and mess it up. Additionally, she organizes her towels into 11 categories. Is that not 10 more than
needed? Furthermore, one specific rule that Monica has is that everything needs to be in place where it
was before and by that it cannot move a millimeter without her noticing a change in the room. For
example, when Rachel moved in with Monica, she decided to clean the apartment for her; it did not go
that great. Rachel thought that moving the ottoman to make an extra seat around the table would be

A Look at Ethical Perspectives Essay example
A Look at Ethical Perspectives While it would be nice to think that it is easy to make decisions and all
come to the same conclusion, this is not always the case. Unfortunately, even regarding ethical
decisions where you may think a right and wrong way exist may not be easy to determine. Since
everyone has different backgrounds and therefore, different perspectives, we may not agree on what
the best course of action is to take in a difficult decision. While I believe that character is the most
important, someone else may think that as long as the majority is satisfied that their decision is best.

virtuous answer.
Obligation
The names of the perspectives speak mostly for themselves. Obligation is making sure that the
decision that is made is fair to all and that everyone is treated as equals (Weiss, 2006). The thought is
that we should have a duty to all humanity. This however, presents a challenge when attempting to
make a prompt decision and having to analyze the consequences that it will have on everyone. When
choices are made from this perspective, an individual may not use his or her first thought of what is
right or wrong, but instead what they think the majority of people would identify as being right.
Generally this would be very similar to the character perspective as considering the effect on society
as a whole would be an honest choice; however, this may not always be the case. When I consider
integrity, I think of Godly values which are occasionally distorted by society due to man believing that
he knows what is best.

Persecution In The Passage Of Persecution
Hebrews 10:33,34 states Sometimes you were exposed to public ridicule and were beaten, and
sometimes you helped others who were suffering the same things. You suffered along with those who
were thrown into jail, and when all you owned was taken from you, you accepted it with joy. You
knew there were better things waiting for you that will last forever (NLT). Whomever the author could
be for it is unknown to those reminds the Hebrew Christians that they have once faced persecution
before. Being persecuted for living a life of Christ instead of self, may bring pain and sorrow upon
Christians. For Christ, endured pain and sorrow on the way toward to the cross or his earthly death.
The author goes on to say that those that have been persecuted greater things were to come their way.
All they had to do was remain faithful to God and God would be faithful to them. Those who are
studying this passage of scripture must know that they too will be tested or persecuted in their faith
walk, must know that God is on their side. The persecutions will bring about trust, strength, and
patience. The issues that come with persecution in this passage of scripture is that Christians does not
have to do anything wrong or sin against God, just claiming to be a child of God only brings about
persecution. Two ways to overcome this persecution is to know that God is always with his children,
and Christ will return to his children one day and carry them away with him into Heaven.

ratio analysis Essay
Financial Ratios: What They MeanIn assessing the significance of various financial data, managers
often engage in ratio analysis, the process of determining and evaluating financial ratios. A financial
ratio is a relationship that indicates something about a company s activities, such as the ratio between
the company s current assets and current liabilities or between its accounts receivable and its annual

fifty two weeks, the annual dividend, the dividend yield, the price/earnings ratio, the day s trading

The price to earnings (P/E) ratio is calculated by dividing the current market price per share by current

Double Effect
The objective of this paper is to prove that the Doctrine of Double Effect (DDE), proposed by Saint
Thomas Aquinas, is a valid moral principle. It has been concluded that the DDE is a valid moral
principle as it allows one to justify whether an action will cause two diverse effects and whether the
effects are permissible. It is crucial to establish the validity of the DDE because it has been applied to
defend a significant number of contemporary controversial issues (McIntyre). In order to determine
whether the DDE is a valid moral principle, the definition of the doctrine itself as well as conditions
involved will be demonstrated. In addition, each condition will be applied to differentiate two
examples that result in the same outcomes. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The doctor was aware that his choice would result in the death of one patient. However, the death of
one patient compared to five was able to justify that action. Therefore, the doctors choice of dividing
medication into four equal proportions to save the lives of four out of five patients is able to satisfy all
the conditions of DDE and therefore it is permissible for the doctor to make such a decision.
The doctor s choice in the Organ Shortage scenario is impermissible. From a quantitative point of
view, it may seem the doctor s choice is permissible as it resulted in the death of one patient as
opposed to four. However, the death of the patient is not a side effect of curing the four other patients.
Moreover, the death of the fifth patient has been used as a means to achieve the good end. The doctor
s choice fails to meet the conditions of DDE as the doctor withheld medication from a patient whose
life depended on the medication. Therefore, it has been concluded that the doctor s choice is
impermissible.
The above scenarios may seem identical as the doctor made the decision that was able to save the
greatest number of people. However, it has been identified that the circumstances were different and
As the two similar actions are distinguished, the creditability of the DDE in relation to justifying
controversial issues has been proved. Since the DDE has established a moral

Abstract
The purpose of this project was to measure how closely two psychological surveys were related. Our
first survey measured the subjects level of social physique anxiety; our second survey measured the
subjects level of hypersensitive narcissism. Our findings were that the measures were moderately
correlated. Significance testing proved that they were directly related to each other.
Correlation Project: Social Physique Anxiety and Hypersensitive Narcissism Our initial hypothesis for

Procedure
First, we randomly selected participants to include in the study. Next, we gave each subject one copy
of each of the surveys. After we received the completed surveys, we computed the necessary data to

Analysis Of Alfred Hitchcock s I Confess

quickly. The suspense in the first 45 seconds of this film is expertly crafted and although the murderer
is revealed directly after, it leaves the audience curious. Beside the corpse is the murder weapon (a
blunt instrument) and you can clearly see Vilette s head bleeding at the top, revealing how he was
murdered. From the image of Vilette s body, the camera pans to the doorway where the beaded curtain

sees a man in a priest s clothes hurrying down the sidewalk late at night. The lighting is very
important in this shot as it sets a very serious, ominous tone. The character also looks over his
shoulder hastily as if he s worried someone might see him. The camera goes to a wide shot to show
that two young girls are right behind Keller as he briskly walks away from his crime. Then the shot
fades into Keller walking towards the camera down an alleyway. The lighting is still extremely
gloomy and shadowy as he takes off into a dark corner. The next shot has a revealing as Keller takes

The Steps Of The Empire State Building
I was too hurt to act rationally, and without saying anything, I left the Observatory and started running
down the steps of the Empire State Building. The more I thought about Lori sleeping with some
maggot, named Randy, the angrier I became and faster I ran down the steps.
Setting a new record for getting from the Observatory of the Empire State Building to the ground floor
without jumping, I stormed through the crowds and returned to the Port Authority. I arrived there just
in time to catch the 11:30 bus to Wilkes Barre.
The tension of a big city, awaiting the signal to party, was apparent as the Greyhound bus pulled out of
New York City. Before long, the bus passed through the Lincoln Tunnel and was speeding through

I had grown more nervous since my encounter with Lori than I had ever been before in my life.
One night after supper, I just happened to notice a sculpture Lori gave me a few years earlier. It was a
copy of Rodin s sculpture, The Hand of God.
I took the sculpture from the shelf and began to study it. I was overcome by the beauty of the large
hand holding a jagged stone, on one side of which the figure of two lovers had been sculpted.
After I studied the sculpture and attempted to return it to its shelf, it slipped out of my hands and fell
to the floor, breaking into a number of pieces. Hearing the sculpture falling to the floor, my father
came into the parlor and asked me what happened.
Seeing the sculpture broken into a number of different pieces, I told him, I broke The Hand of God.
After I thought about what I just said, I realized my words could have been easily misinterpreted as
the idle boast of someone claiming to have inflicted harm on God, rather than a statement of fact about
the accidental fumbling of a sculpture. As I stared at the broken sculpture on the floor, I began to
wonder if there wasn t some strange symbolism in the event.
I began to think of Lori as a gift from God and my leaving her as a rejection of God s gift. For the rest
of the night, all I could think about was the broken sculpture.
When I finally realized it was futile trying to sleep, I went back into the parlor and attempted to repair
the sculpture. I was amazed

Research Paper On Guerrilla Marketing
As competitiveness between companies nowadays is every time more and more extended, brands need
to search for ways to make it stand out among the others. Guerilla marketing is one example of this
standing out goal.
Guerrilla marketing was originally a marketing strategy in which low cost, unconventional means
were used in a localized fashion to draw attention to an idea, product, or service. Today, guerrilla
marketing may also include promotion through a network of individuals, groups, or organizations
working to popularize a product or idea by use of such strategies as flash mobs, viral marketing
campaigns, or internet marketing.
The term guerrilla marketing is traced to guerrilla warfare, which employs atypical tactics to achieve
an objective.
Guerrilla marketing was initially used by small and medium sized businesses, but it is increasingly
being adopted by big business. This concept rises from a promotion that relies on imagination rather
than a big budget.

Short Term Memory In Inside Out
The past few days learning about memory basics and memory based on emotions has been very
interesting. The memory basics was a bit of a review, as I remember learning about, encoding,
consolidation and retrieval from my Principles of Psychology class. That being said, it is always good
to refresh one s memory on concepts previously discussed. The movie Inside Out displays the concept
of memory very well and in a way that all ages can understand. The way that Inside Out depicted short
term memory and long term memory seem to be somewhat accurate. Short term memory is kept in
one place, in the human brain, short term memory is stored in the hippocampus and in the movie short
term memory is stored in the headquarters, where it is sent to long term memory when Rylee sleeps,
this is rather similar to what actually happens in the human brain. As we sleep, our memories that have
been encoded are stored into long term memory for later retrieval. Long term memory in the movie
has some things that are portrayed accurately and others that are not so ... Show more content on

SMART Port Security
The SMART Port Security is a legislation that created new layers of security in U.S. ports in a cost
effective manner. The legislation emphasizes the need of creating strong partnership among federal,
state, and local governments as well as with private and international organizations (Homeland
security committee, 2012). The goal is to ensure that security efforts at all levels are effectively
coordinated and integrated so that there can be more layers of security without having to invest
additional resources. This is accomplished by identifying redundancies or repetitive security measures
that are useless, which will allow port authorities to convert them into more useful security layers
(Homeland security committee, 2012). Moreover, the legislation also encourages the Department of
Homeland Security (DHS) to speed up the process of installing biometric readers to make the
Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) program worth it and not just a waste of
resources (Wytkind, 2012).

Persuasive Essay On Why Are Bees Necessary
One issue that nobody pays attention to is, bees. Most people believe that bees are killers and horrible
bugs, but what they don t know is that without bees, there are less and less food. Although they are
dangerous, they re no harm unless they feel harm. This world doesn t realize that without bees, there
won t be anymore foods from almonds to strawberries. Some possible solutions to this problem are
reducing the amount of pesticides, grow plants, buy local raw honey, protect pollinators, and
understand that bees aren t there to hurt you. The amount of pesticides you use, the amount of bees
you re killing. Although they make your plants and gardens very pretty, they have chemicals that are
dangerous. The chemicals and pest treatments you put on your lawn and garden can cause damage to

The more nectar they suck, the more honey we receive, which is really good for us. Just planting
flowers in your garden, yard, or in a planter will help provide bees with forage (Queen of the Sun).
That s why you should buy local, raw honey. For your own personal health, strive to buy local, raw
honey that is from hives that are not treated by chemicals (Queen of the Sun). Don t just help the bees,
but also help yourself. If you protect pollinators, then you would be saving so many bees. A pollinator
is the biotic agent that moves pollen from the male anthers of flower to the female stigma of a flower
to accomplish fertilization or syngamy of the female gametes in the ovule of the flower by the male
gametes from the pollen grain (Wikipedia). The pollinators are the ones that provide nectar for bees.
Lastly, bees are there to make food, not to hurt you. As I said, bees only cause damage when they feel
danger. When bees use their stinger, they end up dying. Be aware when you see a bee next

Equitation Science Essay
Equitation science
Equitation science is an evidence based approach to horse training and riding that focuses on a
thorough understanding of both equine ethology and learning theory. This combination leads to more

Causes Of Operation Barbarossa
Operation Barbarossa
When Barbarossa commences, the world will hold it s breath...
Adolf Hitler
Catalysts
Nazi Germany s invasion of the Soviet Union under Directive 21, known as Operation Barbarossa
commenced on the 22nd of June 1941. The invasion proved to be motivated by Adolf Hitler s long
standing ideologies of lebensraum and race. Hitler saw Barbarossa as an ideological, strategic and
economic advance within World war II.
Lebensraum
Hitler possessed the long term aim of lebensraum to accommodate for his Aryan Empire that was
envisioned to grow to 250 million. The vastmess of Russia, along with the resources the land offered,
position the Soviet Union as appealing for Hitler s advances. Hitler s desire to advance within Europe
further sparked Operation Barbarossa as he stated, If we talk about new soil and territory in Europe
today, we can think primarily only of Russia... Hitler s ambition to accumulate lebensraum, catalysed
and motivated the events of Operation Barbarossa.
Strategic Economical
The invasion of Russia was further enticing to Hitler as both a strategic and economic maneuver,
allowing for a gain in land and resources. Russia s rich land provided Hitler with oil and grain to help
sustain the Reich and future Aryan race. Furthermore, the proposed existing state of the Soviet Union
presented Russia as unsuspecting and unprepared for attack, with a weakened army that possessed a

Rhetorical Analysis of The Shawshank Redemption The Shawshank Redemption is an inspiring story
about Andy Dufreine and his efforts to maintain hope in horrible situations. The directors used many

distracting his mind and always staying occupied. Andy was also inspired to survive by helping others
find hope in life.
The creators of this movie used several effective, and often subtle, methods to illustrate the hope

was assigned to the library, which built up to the largest events in his pursuit of hope. He was
presented with the opportunity to help the guards with financial advising and filling out tax forms,
which virtually removed Andy from the prison life and let him operate almost completely as if he were
at his old job. His job allowed him gain the respect of the guards, which relieved some of the
awfulness of prison life. Andy s attempt to enlarge and develop the library was another distractions for
him. His constant letter writing to request funds for expanding the library took some of Andy s time
and allowed him to focus his mind on things other than prison. After his years of requests were finally
answered with books and eventually annual funds Andy and Red were presented with the full time job
of maintaining the new, huge library. These new responsibilities were key in making their lives

The Importance Of Multicultural Resource And Rationale
Multicultural Resource and Rationale The importance of multicultural education is so significant that
it is believed to impact a student s life more than any other way of learning. In order for one to
understand the importance of multicultural education they must first know the definition of what
multicultural education is. James Banks a multicultural advocate, educator, and researcher, defined
multicultural education as an idea, an educational reform movement, and process whose major goal is
to change the structure of educational institutions so that male, and female students, exceptional
students, and students who are member of diverse racial, ethnic, language, and cultural groups will
have an equal chance to achieve academically in school (Ozturgut, 2011). Throughout its history,
multicultural education has been interpreted in many different ways and has been the site of many
controversies both within the field and outside it. (Ramsey, 2015). When discussing multicultural
education, it is important to know the meaning of culture. Culture can be defined as, a group s
program for survival in and adaptation to its environment . (Banks, J.A., Banks, C.M. 2017). There are
a variety of things that make up a culture such as; beliefs, values, tradition, language, religion, and
government. It is important that a culture is not defined by the materials they have but by how they
use these materials. In other words, the way a specific culture uses items such religion,

Investigation For Processing The Potential Crime Scene Essay
Describe your Plan for Processing the Potential Crime/Incident Scene Processing a crime scene is no
easy task. Individuals who are trained to process and analyze these crime scenes cannot just walk into
area of interest and commence handling items and taking items of possible implications of the
situation. This holds true for a digital forensics investigator as well. Digital forensics investigators are
looking for any possible digital evidence within the crime scene, but it s not as simple as just finding a
computer and taking it to the lab. Digital evidence is information stored or transmitted in binary form
that may be relied on in court. It can be found on a computer hard drive, a mobile phone, a personal

By removing liquor licenses, leaders of the prohibition movement believed that churches and reform
organisations would start to encourage Americans to stop drinking alcohol, and hoped that America
over time would lead to a sober nation, with several prohibition leaders believed that an educational
campaign would greatly expand these hopes. Organised crime dates back to as early as the street
gangs of the 1800s, with organised crime being the inclusion of a whole city, or state, in illegal and
unlawful activity. In America, the activity of taking part in organised crime is known as racketeering,
with secret organisations and members using word of mouth to send messages. The Forty Thieves, one
of these street gangs, was formed through hundreds of immigrants coming together for their own
financial gain and protection. These gangs saw organised crime as the only form of protection against
corrupt police officers and other gangs. Generally gangs formed in the 1800s were grouped together as
people who were poor and living in slums, or through their ethnic background. The Italian Americans
formed the most notable organised crime group of the Mafia, where Italian immigrants worked
together to fight oppression, and to rise above poverty by selling stolen goods, extortion, prostitution,

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Telehealth
Throughout history, technology has played a large role in health care and the quality of care given to
the patients. In fact, in 1878 The Lancet reported the use of the telephone between patient and
physicians to reduce the amount of unnecessary in home visits (Dinesen, Nonnecke, Lindeman, Toft,
Kidholm, Jethwani, Nesbit, 2016). Recently, a new form of healthcare has emerged called telehealth.
This has been promoted as a technological approach to support and assist in diagnosis, monitoring
management, and the treatment of patients by using telecommunication (Kayyali, Hesso, Ejiko, Gebra,
2017). As with all technology there are advantages and disadvantages. This paper will describe the
advantages and disadvantages of telehealth as a form of healthcare. Advantages of Telehealth
Convenience One advantage of using telehealth for ones health care needs is the fact that patients do
not need to have a primary care provider. In the United States alone, one quarter of patients do not
have complete access to a primary care provider or do not have one at all (Polinski, Barker, Gagliano,

Fahrenheit 451 Phoenix Analysis
Why are phoenix and a fireman the same
In fahrenheit 451 Ray Bradbury compares a phoenix and a fireman alike.
Animal and nature imagery the novel nature is presented as a force of innocence and the truth
beginning with clarisse s. Clarisse s convinces montag to taste the rain and the experience change him
irrevocably Montag escape from the city into the country is a revelation to him showing him the
enlightening power of unspoiled nature. The phoenix is a symbol for renewal for life follows death in
a cleaning fire. The hearth or fireplace is a traditional symbol of the home the salamander is one the
official symbols of the fireman. The phoenix is a lizard who is a mythic being able to live even in the
presence of a fire it s skin is cold and suggested that cold body can put out the flame the rising
phoenix out of the ashes live again. Fire is an interesting symbol in fahrenheit 451 because it
symbolizes two different meanings. The fireman who burn books and wear the number 451 on their
helments fire symolizes destruction (451 is the temperature at which paper and books burn.) when fire
is controlled symbolizes the flickering of self awareness and knowledge. After the city is reduced to
ashes by bombers in fahrenheit 451 granger compares mankind to phoenix that burns itself up and
then rises out of it s ashes over and over again both destroy themselves in fire and both start up again
amid the ashes. Ray Bradbury describes a phoenix as water and a fireman as fire the hearth and the

Restructuring Debt Data
Understanding the reporting and disclosure requirements for the different types of debt regarding debt
restructuring is imperative. The manager of this company has requested an explanation of the above
regarding bonds payable, notes payable, and capital leases. This paper should satisfy any questions
about these topics.
Long Term Liabilities Included are several types of long term liabilities; bonds payable, notes payable,
and capital leases. Each of these types of debts have some similarities and some differences regarding
the reporting and disclosure requirements, so to better understand those requirements and ensure
proper application of requirements, an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The capital lease reported on the balance sheet at the end of the reporting period is the net of principal
payment component of the lease payment.
Reporting and Disclosures
Note disclosures for long term debt should include the nature of the liabilities, maturity dates, interest
dates, call provisions, conversion privileges, restrictions imposed by creditors, and assets designated
or pledged as security (Kieso, et al., 2007). In addition, any sinking fund future payments and maturity
amounts of long term debt during each of the next five years is required for disclosure. If the company
is able to estimate the fair value of the long term debt practically, disclosure of this information is
required too.
Debt Restructuring
With debt restructuring, if there is a substantive modification of any of the terms of the existing debt
or a purchase or other settlement of an existing debt through repayment or replacement, then the
debtor needs to account for a gain or loss on the debt restructuring. In this company s situation, the
debt settled earlier than the original maturity date; so therefore, there was a substantive modification
of terms. In this case, the journal entries are as follows:
Notes Payable............................................3,000,000
Gain on the Restructuring of Debt.................................600,000

Lovecraft s Influence On American Literature
Lovecraft the most influential writer in the 20th century
Howard Phillips Lovecraft (better known as H.P. Lovecraft) is one of the most influential American
writers of the 20th century in horror fiction. Though he was never considered a success while he was
alive; he gained much of his popularity years after his death. The foot prints he left behind could be
seen all around us, inspiring writers such as Stephen king and Clive Barker. Lovecraft s influences
could also be seen in the film industry, inspiring John Carpenter, Dan O Bannon, and H.R. Geiger.
Lovecraft has made what horror and science fiction are today; the themes of civilization under attack,
non human influences on humanity, and risks of the scientific era. With his influence the ... Show

Descriptive Essay On Venice
Summer is ending and the leaves are kicking in, the weather is at the peak of perfection and you can
still enjoy a nice scoop of gelato ice cream without freezing from Suso; because who doesn t love
frozen treats? The only issue is where in the world is Suso located?! Let s just say you can probably
drop a good $500 on a one way trip to Venice, not just to enjoy a nice scoop of gelato but to bask in
the ambiance that is an eons worth of history, art, and culture. When you think of Italy, probably the
first thing that pops into your mind is the beautiful watercolored water reflecting the architecture all
while the setting sun taints the skies with crimson and violets. The ripples harmonizing the colors
together, while they are propelled by the gondolier as he sings; when the moon hits your eyes like a
big pizza pie, that s amore. Good ole Dean Martin. Venice is the place to be if you re passionate about
romance, and not just simple everyday romance, but the kind that makes you believe in fairy tales and
stardust. The kind of romance that is timeless and forever engrained in your heart, so if marriage is
part of the trip make sure to be wise. Apart from being a firm believer of romance, if you re an art
connosieur then feast your eyes because they will glimmer like a child who just discovered bacon for
the first time in their life. First off the architecture here is sophisticated, so if you re passionate about
architecture then the place to visit and feel re inspired and

Interest rate swap basics
Swaps, being highly liquid derivatives, are not traded on stock exchange, but facilitated by over the
counter (OTC) trading. Interest rate swap is an arrangement between two parties whereby they
exchange one set of interest payment for another. The most widespread arrangement is when fixed rate
interest payments are exchange for floating rate interest payment on some notional amount over the
time. This notional amount is generally not exchanged between counterparties, but is used only for
calculation of the size of cash flows to be exchanged, and what is more, usually only resulting cash
flow (difference between fixed and floating ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All the requirements imposed for the calculator are met.
Before we value the plain vanilla swap, we need to input the following parameters:
Notional
Contract period (Since the majority of interest rate swaps have a contract period between 1 year and 5
years, I decided to specify it within this interval.)
Fixed interest rate
Frequency of payments (1, 2 or 4 times a year)
After all the values of the required variables are entered, the button Calculate should be clicked to
obtain the swap present value and such intermediate values like PV of fixed CF and PV of floating CF,
the difference of which is actually the swap present value.
The table below represents the logic of the swap calculator.
Explanation of columns:
Column (1) represents maturity in parts of the year. The scale interval is set as 0.25, since maximum
possible payment frequency (for this calculator) is 4 times per annum.
Column (2): I set forward LIBOR rates as floating interest rates. Depending on payment frequency, 1
year, 6 month or 3 month LIBOR rates are set as

Grade 12 Ontario Students Studying Canadian Literature(U1A6)
Grade 12 Ontario Students Studying Canadian Literature
This essay proves that graduating students in Ontario should only study literature in a Grade 12
English course. While good writers exist in all cultures, Ontario students should only study literature
written by Canadian writers. This is because all Ontario students should become familiar with
literature from our province. Three reasons for this are; the need to focus on our own Canadian culture
and despite being surrounded by many other cultures, the need to promote and establish our own
writers is there, as well as the need to encourage younger Canadian authors.

Nellie s Free Range Eggs Summary
Nellie s Free Range Eggs is a corporation of farms that specialize in free range eggs. Their chickens
are allowed to roam free around the farm and are not in cages. The advertisement of Nellie s Free
Range Eggs was found in an issue of Parenting magazine. Their advertisement captures a photo of a
hen s thought provoking and pondering look outside in a grassy filed with sunshine and blue skies.
Above the hen are two phrases, Sunshine or sadness? What goes into your egg? The text interacts with
the image by depicting whether or not you would you re your hen to live in sunshine or sadness.
Nellie s purpose is to convey the treatment of hens is more humane if they are allowed to roam freely,

Marriage And Arranged Marriages
So this topic that I have been wanting to address for awhile. I was talking to a friend the other day
about the whole dating aspect of BYU Idaho as well as just in the Mormon community. Now my
friend grew up outside of the church and so she has seen both the Mormon culture of dating as well as
the way that the world does it. Now she pointed out to me something that I never really thought of
before. She told me that it almost seems like we are so focused on the aspect of dating and getting
married because in our culture that is something that we strongly believe in because of the covenants
that we make with marriage. She said that we are in a sense having these arranged type of marriages,
in the sense that everyone around us is telling us to date this person or that person or get married
because it is a commandment and we are making these decisions not because we truly love this person
or we even truly believe that we want to get married, or even fully understand the promises we will be
making to that person and also to God. We aren t fully making this decision because we truly believe
that it is a good choice but because others around us think so and to me that does seem a little bit like
an arranged marriage.
I m not totally knocking arranged marriages because there are a lot of people out there who make
them work, even more than people who choose the person that they marry. The only thing I disagree
with arranged marriages is the fact that agency is taken out of marriage,

Essay On How To Throw A Baseball Pitch
Many times, someone who plays baseball, or knows something about baseball, may see someone
simply throw a rock and think, Wow, they really could have a future with the arm they have. You may
not be interested in baseball, but you can be enlightened with something from people who are very
good at what they do. Maybe, some of you could take some things, and apply them, and you will find
a hidden talent. The topic of enlightenment is how to throw different baseball pitches.
First off, the supplies that are needed are, but certainly are not limited to: a baseball, a baseball glove,
another person with a baseball glove, and an open area. A pitching mound can be used to gain the full
potential of the pitches you will learn to throw. Also, catchers equipment and a catcher would benefit

To reach this potential, you can take lessons from someone who has perfected the craft of pitching.
With all of these things, you must now learn to throw the pitches.
After having gained all the materials needed and having the proper instruction, you can now begin
learning to throw different pitches. However, you must first know what each pitch does, what the pitch
is used to do, and how the pitch is most effective for you. The three main pitches are the fastball,
change up, and curveball. To start, the fastball is a pitch that has the most speed out of any other pitch.
While the pitch is called a fastball, there are two different types of fastballs: the two seam and the four
seam. The two seam fastball is relatively similar to the four seam, however the two seam will move
into a right handed batter and away from a left handed batter. The fastball is used to get a strike on the
batter, set the batter nup for an offspeed pitch, and often, it is used after an offspeed pitch to disrupt
the hitter s timing. Now, the curveball is often the pitch with the lowest velocity. A curveball also has
the most movement among all pitches.

Descriptive Essay About Pet
By eight o clock, the first kaleidoscope of butterflies invades my stomach, he ll notice I m not there

The presenter raises the guests enthusiasm as he shouts out in joyful banter. The audience claps and
cheers when someone wins, I assume. Nevertheless, I can t concentrate on it, I can t concentrate on

If he s so famous, why isn t he in there? Another wave of frustration penetrates my mind. After
scanning the final page, I rest my elbows on the breakfast bar and nestle my chin in my hands as my

The melody from my phone interrupts my thoughts. I twist in my seat as if I ll be able to see the caller
id from here. The phone illuminates, but the caller remains a secret. In fascination, I watch it snake its
way along the sofa as it vibrates. It could be Alice. However, I m not interested in speaking with her.
After a while, the phone silences. Voicemail must have picked up the call. I slide off the stool and
amble across the room to retrieve my phone. One missed call, no voicemail. The phone vibrates and
sings in my hand, startling me. Angelo s name flashes on the screen. The hummingbird, who took up
residence in my chest since meeting Angelo, beats her wings. My body quivers in anticipation to
answer the call, to hear his voice.
Eva? Eva, are you there? He sounds concerned. That s new, refreshing even.
Yes, I m here, I say, keeping my voice calm and uncaring.
You didn t show up today.
I bite on my lip.
I figured it was about the poker game brawl. There s no need to be scared, they wouldn t hurt you.

The goal of intrusion detection is to monitor network assets, detect anomalous behavior, and identify
misuse within a network (Ashoor, Gore, 2011). An intrusion detection system (IDS) is a device or
software application that monitors network system activities for malicious activity or policy violations
and produces reports to a management station (Kashyap, Agrawal, Pandey, Keshri, 2013), additionally
there are three types of IDS:
Host based IDS monitors a computer system on which it is installed in order to detect intrusion or

logs, and compares logs with signatures for known attacks.

Merton Model Of Social Deviance
Merton, (1938) model of social deviance desires to refute Freudians and similar theorists that
hypothesize biological abnormalities as a valid explanation for deviance. Their theory further posits
that institutions only exist to channel deviance through some form of utilitarian calculus or unreasoned
conditioning (p. 680). That is, using punishment to deter deviance rather using it as a form of
retribution. Merton, instead, wants to articulate how institutions can itself prompt deviance, and
sustain a significant degree of control over it. He proposes a 2 phase model (673) on how society
structures individual behavior: the first phase is the cultural goal , the putative end for which we ought
to struggle. The second aspect is institutional ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rather, these postmodernists focus on the fragmented and heterogeneous nature of our culture, to
suggest that punks are not so much engaging in resistance but ironically reflecting the culture, they
putatively oppose themselves. That television, radio, magazines, pamphlets, virtual media such as the
Internet (Stahl, 1999) helps to create and prolong subculture. Instead, for postmodernists, this intense
codependence of subculture members of the media indicates how closely punks embody our present,
media obsessed moment. A structuralist neo Marxist account of punks was that they were enacting
genuine resistance and disaffection of society. But, as refigured by postmodern theorists as a form of
subcultural capital, an alternative hierarchy in which the axes of age, gender, sexuality and race are all
employed in order to keep the determinations of class, income and occupation at bay (Stahl, 1999).
Lewin and Williams (2009) ethnographic study of the punk community in the southeastern United
States agrees with the postmodernist claim that concerns about authenticity are critical to punk self
identification, and places punks into conflict with those very same post modernists. They position
authenticity in terms familiar from anomie

Analysis of Baxter s Gryphon Essays
In Gryphon by Charles Baxter, a class of fourth grade students gets a substitute teacher. She is very
eccentric but knowledgeable and tells the whole class a lot of myths and facts. It is up to the class to
decide what is true or not.
In Gryphon, Miss Ferenczi specifically calls her wronged math answer a substitute fact but also tells
the class many other things and myths that are true. For example, she tells the class a great deal about
Egypt and that features of the Constitution of the United States are notable for their Egyptian ideas.
(145) Her whole lecture was complete fact about Egypt, a country she had a passion for. However, it
left the kids wondering if what she said was false, for she misled them earlier that day. ... Show more

She talks about tress in the world...that eat meat and witch doctors as doctors are magicians. (147) The
class receives a lot of factual information that makes them very interested. It causes them to think
deeply and discuss with their classmates. Miss Ferenczi even asks herself will the plants on the
windowsill be hurt (142) if she says what she tells her class. Her words cannot hurt anyone and they
did not. However, they did emotionally trouble Wayne, who was scared of the tarot death card Miss
Ferenczi showed him. This led to a physical fight between the narrator and Wayne because the
narrator was defending Miss Ferenczi, which was the only event that hurt someone. There are a lot of
things in schools that are completely factual and provable. These things are mainly in basic math, and
history. On the contrary, there are many disputable things in science and advanced math that could be
comparable to a substitute fact. In biology there is a long and ongoing debate between religious
parents and non religious on whether or not evolution is real. It s in textbooks, and depending on a
student s teacher, it will be taught in class whether a student chooses to believe it or not. Other than
that, there are still many theories rather than laws in science that challenge students to disprove them.
Math is rather the same in that there are a lot of theories named after old mathematicians. There is the
Pythagorean Theorem, Fundamental Theorems,

  • 2. Marriage Private By Stephanie Coontz For the past, few centuries the concept of marriage has become a matter of church and state. Those who wish to become a married couple within the United States must get permission from the states by obtaining a marriage license. According to Taking Marriage Private by Stephanie Coontz for sixteen centuries marriage was valid based upon the couples wishes. If both the man and women claimed they had exchanged vows, then the Catholic Church would recognize it as a valid marriage. Today all states require that a couple obtain a marriage license from the state if they want the marriage to be legal and valid in the eyes of the state. Taking Marriage Private by Stephanie Coontz discusses the concept of private marriage and the history of it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the United States Constitution, the Ninth Amendment is often forgotten or not commonly taught. The ninth amendment is often denoted as Enumeration of Rights. This amendment outlines the human rights that were not written or protected by the Constitution or the Bill of Rights. Marriage is a right. Everybody and anybody should have the right to marriage. Putting rules and regulations on marriage is a clear violation of the United States Constitution and a clear violation of our unalienable rights. Marriage has only become a way for the government to collect extra tax money and fees. Marriage is only a business for the government. Instead of marriage being a civil union of a man and a woman. It is a union between a man, woman, and government. For many gay, bisexual, or lesbian couples privatizing marriage would allow them to marry who they want freely without any government say. Therefore, no institution will be able deny marriage to nontraditional marriage couples because of personal beliefs of government employees or because of state laws. Supporters of marriage privatization believe it is a very personal thing between two people who want celebrate their life together. Marriage after all is a celebration of the connection between one another. Anybody should be able to marry whoever they want without having to worry about what the government would say about that marriage. Rather if it is right or wrong. • 3. Are The Core Competencies Cause The Internal And External... Yes, Uber has many different divisions, that allow for the organization to best meet the needs for the market. By having definite divisions, it allows Uber to specifically state the roles of that division. Therefore, it allows for accountability to be taken by each division. Responsibility can be taken by that area. Relating to organization culture, it allows for Uber to create subcultures internally that allows that division to best reach their goals. Most importantly, it allows for organizational efficiency. By having so many divisions, Uber can quickly reach the needs of the internal and external stakeholders. According to the textbook, a core competency is a manager s skills and abilities in value creation activities such as manufacturing, R D, managing new technology and organizational design and change. (pg.12) These core competencies cause a competitive advantage which is the ability of one company to outperform another because its managers are able to create more value from the resources at their disposal (pg. 12). Uber s core competency is creating a customer user face that is universally functional. Their applications allow for access to both high and low end services that are reliable such UberX and UberBlack. • 4. Carbon Nanotubes On The Delivery Of Pharmaceuticals NANOTECHNOLOGY Carbon nanotubes in the delivery of pharmaceuticals in medicine Andrew Kim Word count 995 without references and titles 100%originality The most clinically effective treatments for cancer were ironically incredibly detrimental to the human body s health. These included, chemotherapy and radiation. These two methods did in fact destroy the malignant cells yet also caused apoptosis in healthy cells damaging them beyond repair and thus causing a great detriment to the patients health. However, recently, due to the endeavours of nanotechnology, it has been discovered that carbon nanotubes can effectively carry anti cancer drugs destroying the malignant cancer cells without damaging the healthy cells, in other words, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Nanotechnology is the design, characterisation, production and application of structure, devices or systems by controlled manipulation of size and shape at the nanoscale. (Nanomed, 2005) This should produce a structure or device with at least one new or superior characteristic. The nanoscale is less than 100nm. CNTs have shown a great deal of potential use as nano carriers for delivering anti cancer drugs directly to the sight of action. However, CNTs must be functionalized, as pure CNTs are difficult to incorporate into biological structures due to their insolubility and their tendency to bundle up. There are two main ways to functionalize CNTs yet the best method is by oxidation leading to carboxyl based couplings. The tube caps openings are created and holes in the side wall form by process of oxidation involving strong acids. These carboxylic group allow covalent coupling with other molecules by amide or ester bonds (see figure 2.1) as a result, CNTs can be conjugated with anti cancer drugs. It is a benefit to functionalize CNTs as functionalized CNTs have been shown in many studies to be able to cross cell membranes (Pantarotte et al.) this means that CNTs can now be used to deliver anti cancer drugs into direct cells. Now that CNTs can be used in biological structures, there are three methods of incorporating the drugs to the CNT. These are by attachment of the drug to the outer surface; covalent or non covalent bonding. Or, loading the CNTs ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Essay On The Great Gatsby As A Tragic Hero Sam Winchester, Elena Gilbert, Walter White, Sirus Black, Peta Mellark, Jean Valjean, and Jay Gatsby, what do all these characters have in common? They are all tragic heroes. A tragic hero is a character that has a fatal flaw, or tragic flaw, that keeps them from perfection. From HBO shows to classic literature, writers have been breaking hearts with tragic heroes for years! Even the title tragic hero sounds melodramatic. According to Aristotle, a tragic hero should have certain traits. He decided that they should be pitied, they should disrespect the natural order, reverse their fate, have a tragic flaw, make an important discovery, and be put in an unavoidable situation (Meirow). In the book, The Great Gatsby, while Jay Gatsby is frantically searching for the American Dream, he displays each of the previous traits. His tragic flaw ends up killing him and affecting those close to him. In the story, readers pity Mr. Gatsby, because he lost his love. Gatsby is most famous for his incessant love for Daisy Buchanan. Sadly, he fell in love with her while fighting in World War II, but afterward, she married another man. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On the other hand, they were more worried about what Russia s Joseph Stalin was capable of. Her choice with both the treatment of time and the treatment of perspective makes it possible for her to capture the reader s full attention and leave the reader disoriented and anxious for answers about the upcoming events in the novel. The conflicts among the characters lay emphasis on novels structure. Morrison writes each chapter of the book as if it is being told through the point of view of a different character with only Florens points of view consistently repeating. The sequence of the narrative is as follows: Florens /Jacob /Florens /Lina /Florens /Rebeka /Florens /Sorrow /Florens /Willard and Scully /Florens /Florens Mother. The narrative structure of a Mercy is anything but a typical simple linear narrative usually told by one narrator. The opening chapter of the novel is told by Florens point of view who is a slave on a mission for her mistress. Florens point of view is told as her stream of conscious. This form of first person narrative does progress in a linear fashion as Florens travels to find the blacksmith lover who can possibly save her owner from dying of small pox. Since her childhood, Monica has always been in the shadow of Ross to both of her parents, especially their mother. Her mother to this day still knocks Monica down for everything she does and does not do. Nothing is simply good enough for her mom. Due to her being in the dark, Monica took out her loneliness with the help of food. This then resulted in Monica becoming Fat Monica. Due to Monica believing that her parents only cared for Ross, Monica always felt alone until food came into the picture. At any moment food was around she would engulf it. For instance, Ross once said that if he did not eat fast he was not able to eat at all. Additionally, food was a void to keep her sad emotions in. For example, she had a flashback of when one of her boyfriend s got called into work after she worked long and hard on a dinner that she prepared for him. Instead of sulking around, she just began eating. Furthermore, eating was not the only problem that Monica has to deal with. Similar to her mother, Monica has always had a problem with being a perfectionist. She has constantly made cleaning a sport and fun activity to spend her time. Sometimes she rather spends time with her mop and cleaners than hangout with her friends. Also, cleaning does not just end her perfectionist issue. Organization is the key to Monica. Without her labeler, who knows how Monica could function the everyday life. When Chandler was looking for a job, she took it in her best interest to label and file jobs that he could possibly interview for. Chandler asked her why she did that and her response was so that she could simply use the labeler. Likewise, she is always concerned about her precious ribbon draw. Out of the blue, she will freak out if she has the slightest idea that someone could get their hands on it and mess it up. Additionally, she organizes her towels into 11 categories. Is that not 10 more than needed? Furthermore, one specific rule that Monica has is that everything needs to be in place where it was before and by that it cannot move a millimeter without her noticing a change in the room. Since everyone has different backgrounds and therefore, different perspectives, we may not agree on what the best course of action is to take in a difficult decision. While I believe that character is the most important, someone else may think that as long as the majority is satisfied that their decision is best. Not every decision is this easy to make, but through study and close attention to mistakes made by myself and others, I am able to increase the wisdom needed to give a virtuous answer. Obligation The names of the perspectives speak mostly for themselves. Obligation is making sure that the decision that is made is fair to all and that everyone is treated as equals (Weiss, 2006). The thought is that we should have a duty to all humanity. This however, presents a challenge when attempting to make a prompt decision and having to analyze the consequences that it will have on everyone. When choices are made from this perspective, an individual may not use his or her first thought of what is right or wrong, but instead what they think the majority of people would identify as being right. Generally this would be very similar to the character perspective as considering the effect on society as a whole would be an honest choice; however, this may not always be the case. When I consider integrity, I think of Godly values which are occasionally distorted by society due to man believing that he knows what is best. • 12. Persecution In The Passage Of Persecution Hebrews 10:33,34 states Sometimes you were exposed to public ridicule and were beaten, and sometimes you helped others who were suffering the same things. You suffered along with those who were thrown into jail, and when all you owned was taken from you, you accepted it with joy. You knew there were better things waiting for you that will last forever (NLT). Whomever the author could be for it is unknown to those reminds the Hebrew Christians that they have once faced persecution before. Being persecuted for living a life of Christ instead of self, may bring pain and sorrow upon Christians. For Christ, endured pain and sorrow on the way toward to the cross or his earthly death. The author goes on to say that those that have been persecuted greater things were to come their way. All they had to do was remain faithful to God and God would be faithful to them. Those who are studying this passage of scripture must know that they too will be tested or persecuted in their faith walk, must know that God is on their side. The persecutions will bring about trust, strength, and patience. The issues that come with persecution in this passage of scripture is that Christians does not have to do anything wrong or sin against God, just claiming to be a child of God only brings about persecution. Two ways to overcome this persecution is to know that God is always with his children, and Christ will return to his children one day and carry them away with him into Heaven. When it comes to ... • 14. Double Effect The objective of this paper is to prove that the Doctrine of Double Effect (DDE), proposed by Saint Thomas Aquinas, is a valid moral principle. It has been concluded that the DDE is a valid moral principle as it allows one to justify whether an action will cause two diverse effects and whether the effects are permissible. It is crucial to establish the validity of the DDE because it has been applied to defend a significant number of contemporary controversial issues (McIntyre). In order to determine whether the DDE is a valid moral principle, the definition of the doctrine itself as well as conditions involved will be demonstrated. In addition, each condition will be applied to differentiate two examples that result in the same outcomes. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, the doctors choice of dividing medication into four equal proportions to save the lives of four out of five patients is able to satisfy all the conditions of DDE and therefore it is permissible for the doctor to make such a decision. The doctor s choice in the Organ Shortage scenario is impermissible. From a quantitative point of view, it may seem the doctor s choice is permissible as it resulted in the death of one patient as opposed to four. However, the death of the patient is not a side effect of curing the four other patients. Moreover, the death of the fifth patient has been used as a means to achieve the good end. The doctor s choice fails to meet the conditions of DDE as the doctor withheld medication from a patient whose life depended on the medication. Therefore, it has been concluded that the doctor s choice is impermissible. The above scenarios may seem identical as the doctor made the decision that was able to save the greatest number of people. The Importance Of Multicultural Resource And Rationale Multicultural Resource and Rationale The importance of multicultural education is so significant that it is believed to impact a student s life more than any other way of learning. In order for one to understand the importance of multicultural education they must first know the definition of what multicultural education is. The two seam fastball is relatively similar to the four seam, however the two seam will move into a right handed batter and away from a left handed batter. Instead, for postmodernists, this intense codependence of subculture members of the media indicates how closely punks embody our present, media obsessed moment. A structuralist neo Marxist account of punks was that they were enacting genuine resistance and disaffection of society.
