Beauty Document Analysis
Beauty pageants show the positive of being thin, glamourous and what the perfect ideal beautiful
females should look like. Little Miss Sunshine shows that children also have a very competitive idea
of what is perfect and acceptable for children. Society and media along with parents and peers show
young children and young adults that being thin and beautiful is the only acceptable norm in the
world. Even though not all children or young adults are think and beautiful they are still very
beautiful. The world needs to show that all young children and young adults are beautiful, no matter if
they are think or not, parents and peers need to stop discouraging young children and young adults to
only be a certain way. All young children and young adults should have support and encouragement
regarding their bodies. Background The topic of young children and young adults having body image
issues is a topic that has been around for a few year. Society as a norm prompts being young and
beautiful. Personally myself as a young child and teenager my mother would tell us we could ... Show

Have we ever said this around a young child? Five to 8 year olds who think their moms are unhappy
with their bodies are more likely to feel dissatisfied with their own, according to Common Sense
Media s report (Wallace, 2015). I myself have never said something like this around a young child;
however, I know my sister did something similar and her then seven year old daughter started
criticizing her own body. My sister being the quick thinking hands on parent asked her why she
thought her body image was negative and my niece said because this make me look fat like you said

Black Lesbian And Gay Families
Although marriage equality continues to be in the legislative and media spotlight, little attention has
been placed on the significance of legalizing same sex marriage for Black families. This article will
discuss the available research on Black lesbian and gay families, highlighting both the strengths and
challenges these families negotiate. Focusing on the resources Black lesbian and gay families provide
to the Black community, such as foster parenting and adopting Black children, mentoring runaway and
throwaway Black youth and leadership on Black social justice issues, this article will demonstrate the
value of Black lesbian gay families towards the larger goal of strengthening all Black families and
communities. Keywords: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The struggle for marriage equality in the United States began in the 1970 s. It became more prominent
in 1993 when the Hawaiian Supreme court declared that state s prohibition against marriage between
people of the same sex to be unconstitutional (Weiss, 2013). In response to this, there was significant
public outcry and opponents of marriage equality asserted that marriage could only be defined as a
union between a man and a woman. This resulted in prohibitive legislation that was enacted in 1996
known as the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) DOMA prevented the federal government from
recognizing same sex marriages (Baker, 2013). DOMA also allowed each state to refuse recognition of
same sex marriages performed in other states. Be that as it may, in the 21st century, public and
legislative support for marriage equality has grown and various national polls conducted since 2011
show that a majority of Americans support marriage equality (Live Science Staff, 2011; Newport,
2011). On May 9, 2012, Barack Obama became the first sitting U.S. president to publicly declare
support for the legalization of same sex marriage. The provision of DOMA, forbidding the federal
government from recognizing same sex marriages was struck down by the Supreme Court on June
26th of 2013. In the ensuing two years, 36 states, the District of Columbia, 24 Native American Tribal
jurisdictions and Guam had legalized same sex marriage. However up

How Did Mao s Use Of Communism Affect China
Mao had a very questionable rule over China. Beginning in 1934, he used communism as his guide
and transformed China and its policies. From kicking out Chiang and the GMD, to causing the deaths
of millions of innocent chinese citizens, he shifted how citizens in China live their everyday life. His
death in 1976 ended his reign, but the horrors and atrocities still continued on, disrupting the personal
lives of all of China. As the chinese government creates new reforms and policies in China from 1945
1991, all human rights were constantly being violated, resulting in mass amounts of death caused by
Mao s poor leadership. The Hundred Flowers Campaign (1956 1957) and The Great Leap Forward
(1958 1960) were two reforms that negatively affected ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
China s position as a superpower was achieved through the great suffrage of all of its citizens. Many
would argue that China doesn t deserve its position in the world, due to the millions of innocent deaths
due to the violations of human rights. However, China s future is bright. For example, China changed
its One Child Policy to a Two Child Policy in 2016, after about 35 years of loss of rights, family
control, and murders. This improvement is one of many that China has taken into their hands to
improve. The world should look at China s improvement, rather than its past, and acknowledge that
China is trying to make China a better place than its previous China, no matter how hard that may

Behavioral And Emotional Aspect Of Human Thinking
approach deals with the behavioral and emotional aspect of human thinking. Humans are complex
there is no single way to help them stop the behavior. REBT assumes a persons problems come from
their mistaken cognitions, which they have perceived. Which have lead to over or under reactions, this
behavior becomes habitual and the person creates a dysfunctional pattern. The pattern enables them to
continue to repeat the poor behavior, although they know it is unhealthly. In addition REBT, we label
our reactions either consciouly or unconsciouly, therefore if we feel depressed, anxious or fearful it is
because we have convinced ourselves and validate our emotional reaction. One major tenet of REBT
is external events do not determine a persons feelings, a persons individuals beliefs about the event
determine if the person has a problem or not. Thus, we are not upset about an event in our particular
life, what makes us upset is our interpretation of the event.
Intervention
The REBT framwork of Albert Ellis (1962) operates as one ot the most straightforward and well
known models for explaining the connection between events, thoughts, beliefs, cognitions, emotions,
and behaviors (Field, Beeson, Jones, 2015, p. 207)REBT has two competing models, one (classic)
assumes dysfuncational negative feeling (anxiety, depressed, anger), differ from corresponsing feeling
like concern, remorse and sadness. The scond model (original), assumes the there is a difference

The Roots Of The Enlightenment
Between the years of 1685 1815 the focus of European thought had drastically shifted as a result of
what is known as the Age of Reason era, or more commonly known as the Enlightenment. The roots
of the enlightenment sprang about during the time of the Renaissance. Enlightenment thinkers such as
David Hume, Voltaire, and Jean Jacques Rousseau questioned the traditional ways of authority, and
looked to improve mankind with logical changes. The American Revolution, was partially due to
members of the enlightened sect, Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson. The Enlightment roots
started in the early 17th century where contributors sought to shed light on human intellect as well as

First of all, Jacob Riis is the author of How the Other Side lives . He was famous for using
photography to document the extremely poor conditions of many poor populations in the early 20th
century. Riis was a Danish immigrant, he worked as a police reporter for The New York Tribune, a job
that gave him a close and personal relationship with Mulberry Bend, a vestige of Five Points, the most
infamous slum in the city. This book reveals the dirt, disease and misery associated with the living in
the New York slums. Throughout the book Riis expresses his cruel feeling toward the Italians, Jews
and the Chinese, while he remains astonishingly less critical of blacks and women. This book relates

The Cheapest Farm Fair Money Can Rent
There she is, Rachel. Grunkle Rob said. The cheapest farm fair money can rent. I spared every
expense. There was a clicking sound and a yell, and Rachel s twin brother, Garrett, crashed down next

of fake safety inspection certificates. Go slap one on anything that looks anything like a lawsuit.

What?
Yeah, I guess so. It totally worked! All your advice about just going for it; it has finally paid off!
When are you going to learn, Garrett? I m always right about everything. Suddenly, she frowned. Hey,
do you smell a gallon of body spray?
Hey, have any of you dorks seen Wendy around? asked a voice behind them. At once, the twins knew
it was Garrett s rival, Robbie. They turned around to see a stereotypical moody teenager with shaggy
black hair in a typical eye covering emo style hairdo, pale skin and several piercings in his ears.
And why do you want to know? Garrett asked agitatedly. Robbie plucked a generous amount of candy
floss from one of Rachel s cones.
Hey! Rachel protested.
I got some super tight jeans. I just though she might want to check them out. He stretched and so did

The Business Strategy Of Caterpillar Inc.
An organisation s strategy plays an important role of providing direction of where company wants to
be and how best to allocate the company s resources to meet its objectives. The formulation of
business strategies has evolved over the years and has been made more difficult in recent by the
uncertain operating environments and global financial crises. The key to sustainable business is
ensuring that the company s strategy proportions are aligned (Kim, W.C Mauborgne, R, 2009).
Caterpillar Inc. has been in existence since 1925 and the company has faced its fair share of turmoil.
The current global challenges coupled with a stronger dollar make it difficult for any organisation to
operate but Caterpillar continues to outperform the competition. The key to the company s success is
its strategy execution supported by an unmatched distribution network. In this analysis, I tried to

Under the Constitution the federal government can unquestionably suspend the privilege of the writ of
habeas corpus if the public safety requires it during times of rebellion or invasion. The issue is
whether Congress or the president holds this power. Historical perspective on that issue in the context
of the Civil War requires a study of the actions of Congress and the president, Lincoln s defense of his
suspensions of the writ, and presidential and congressional dealings with and reactions to each other.
The relationship between Lincoln and Congress, like the power of suspension, has received limited
historical attention, with the only extensive treatment a 1907 article by University of Wisconsin
professor George Sellery.
The writ of habeas corpus provides individuals with protection against arbitrary and wrongful
imprisonment. But it does not necessarily protect other rights, such as the entitlement to a fair trial. In
our country anyone accused of a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty. This seems to be the
case unless you are accused of terrorism, then you are held outside of the US and are not subject to the
same laws or privileges allowed within US jurisdiction.
Habeas corpus is important to the current situation because it has to do with the right of defendants to
be charged with a crime and tried for that crime in a timely manner.

Brief History Of Of Solar Cells Essay
Brief History of Solar cells
The history of solar cells goes back to the 19th century. Edmond Becquerel was first to notice the
effect of light on a certain molecule; in 1839 he found that two different brass plates immersed in a
liquid produced a continuous current when illuminated with sunlight. We now believe that he had
made a coppercuprous oxide thin film solar cell. (Fraas, 2016) this property is called the photoelectric
effect, and could be harnessed. An article made by the Union of Concerned Scientist said, The first
photovoltaic (PV) cells, made of selenium, were created in the late 1800s. In the 1950s, scientists at
Bell Labs revisited the technology and, using silicon, produced PV cells that could convert four
percent of the energy in sunlight directly to electricity. (How Solar Panels Work, 2015) Nowadays,
researchers and scientist are trying to come up with new ways to develop solar cells.
Location
The recommended location to install the solar system is on top of DOW building. The cause to
choosing this location is because it is not close to any trees or building, that will affects the output of

The Moral Principle Of The Right
The moral principle of the right to die, is a way of thinking where a human being has the choice to end
their life on their own terms. The right to die, also known as physician assisted suicide, is heavily
contemplated in patients who are diagnosed as terminally ill. Being diagnosed as terminally ill may
come at any point in one s life. Once a patient is given this news it puts a greater weight on their
shoulders as now they must adjust to accommodate a new reality. Many patients fear that their near
future will consist of becoming a burden to their family members financially as well as mentally, since
they may not be able to afford the medical bills. Those who are terminally ill may worry that they are
not going to be able to control their level of pain when it worsens as their physical condition
deteriorates. With the diagnosis of a terminal disease many believe what follows will be unnecessary
suffering that is brought on by the symptoms, many of which individuals would avoid at all costs.
Currently there are only four states that have the Right to Die Law enacted; California, Oregon,
Washington, and Vermont. Within these states patients have the option of physician assisted suicide, if
their medical condition meets certain requirements to obtain this option. Terminally ill patients who
live outside of these four states do not have the option of physician assisted suicide available to them.
In this position paper I argue, that enacting a National Right to Die Law in the

Sexual Deprivation Increases Ethanol Intake in Drosophila
G. Shohat Ophir, K. R. Kaun, R. Azanchi, U. Heberlein
There is scientific consensus today that addiction is a chronic disease that changes both brain structure
and function, as abnormal functioning of the brain s reward system (the nucleus accumbens) has been
associated with addictive behavior, originating either from a psychoactive drug, a monetary reward, a
sexual encounter, or a satisfying meal. Drosophila melanogaster, a fruit fly was used in these
experiments to further explain attraction for alcohol containing foods, and the effect of social
experiences on behavior.
The researchers used two different sexual experiences to generate two cohorts of male flies. The first
cohort, rejected isolated, was subjected to courtship conditioning; they experienced 1 hour sessions of
sexual rejection by mated females, three times a day, for 4 days. Such conditioning suppresses future
male courtship behavior, even toward receptive virgin females. The second cohort of mated grouped
flies experienced 6 hour sessions of mating with multiple receptive virgin females at a ratio of 1:5 for
4 days. Flies from each cohort were then tested in a two choice preference assay, in which they
deliberately choose to consume food with or without 15% ethanol supplementation.
There was a significant difference between the 2 cohorts of drosophila in different respects such as
exposure to the social experience

Topic of Choice: Cite and Analyze three specific characters or events which lead Tony s revelations
that would later foster his religious ambivalence
The wisest man asks questions pertaining to the complexities of life. However, when no answers are
delivered said man seeks answers in a place that seems most correct. The spiritual life relies on
believers who have strong fundamental beliefs in hope. The unshaken foundation relies on believers
who give their everlasting hope and have solace in this faith alone. The faith goes deeper than
understanding, but full reliance on the church and its holy deities to solve the world s most mysterious
questions, cure even the most powerful illness and still have faith when such actions do not occur. In
Rudolfo Anaya s Bless Me, Ultima Antonio sought to find the answers he was so desperately in search
for, however he never received an answer. Antonio s religious ambivalence is created through his
journey of life from several encounters, life and death alike, and not receiving answers to the
questions that he most desperately sought for. The aspect of Antonio s ideal benevolent God verses the
God he was presented, and external sources, would all create different epiphanies that would lead him
astray from the traditional church and into other spiritual realms. These realms would be an outlet for
him to receive enlightenment to the situations of which he was presented.

Avoidance Strategies In The Workplace
On the other hand, avoidance strategies are also often adopted as a coping mechanism for bullying. As
Anderson, Labriola, Andersen, Lund, and Hansen (2015) reported victims of bullying remain passive
and seldom ask for help therefore avoidance plays a pivotal role in depression. Depression via
bullying and avoidance coping strategies is reflected in absenteeism levels in the workplace
(McTernan et al., 2013) The study by Ortega et al. (2011) found that the risk of long term absence was
higher for those exposed to bullying than for those not bullied. Victims of workplace bullying may
adopt an avoidance strategy as a coping mechanism to escape the bully, by not attending work they
avoid being bullied (Casimir et al., 2012). An avoidance strategy ... Show more content on

Workplace bullying is a negative event and the interplay between such behaviour and the
environment, namely negative and positive reinforcement, and negative and positive punishment,
contributes to the development of depression (Kanter et al., 2008). The use of learned helplessness as
an avoidance strategy is a further learning theory that reinforces behaviour by providing negative
reinforcement which exacerbates and maintains depression (Cribb et al., 2006). Furthermore, using
avoidance strategies such as absenteeism instead of coping with the event may cause victims to
complain to others to receive sympathy and this positive reinforcement again exacerbates and
maintains depression (Ramnero et al., 2016). Social observational learning further contributes to
developing low self esteem and inadequate social skills which are risk factors of depression (Andersen
et al., 2015), In addition, social observation learning through vicarious learning is a risk factor to
developing depressive symptoms as witnessing hostile events may induce strong emotional responses
(Bandura Richard, 1977). Rumination, as an adjunct behaviour in depression positively reinforces
behaviour and predicts the length and severity of depression (Kanter et al., 2008). In sum, this paper
has discussed how types of operant learning theories and social observational learning may explain
how depression develops as a consequence of experiencing workplace bullying. As reported by
Ramnero et al. (2016) implications of considering a learning theory approach to depression includes
the development of clinical treatment strategies that understand the antecedents and consequences of
behaviour as well as the biological and cognitive

Group Synthesis Essay
Discussion: The tested elements in group I were Lithium, Sodium and Potassium. All elements were a
silvery grey until they were tarnished as the element reacted with the oxygen. Group I elements have
an oxidation state of +1 which they can lose to increase stability and form compounds. Melting and
boiling points decrease as the elements move down the group. All elements had a reaction but
potassium had a greater more rapid reaction than the others. This indicates that elements that are lower
in the periodic group will have a faster and greater reaction. This is due to its decreased
electronegativity where it is easier for that element to lose its valence electron and hence having a
faster and greater reaction, as the last elements in group 1 have a greater atomic radius than the
beginning elements of group 1. In all elements there was a reaction which created hydrogen gas and
made a solution that was alkaline. All the elements dissolved and turned the water purple; this
indicates that all the elements tested are base, Alkali metals elements. ... Show more content on

Group II elements have an oxidation state of +2 which they can lose to increase stability and form a
compound. As the elements go down the group they will gain mass, atomic radius and atomic number
and both elements were grey solids which reacted to all experiments, but Calcium had a greater
reaction than Magnesium. This was also caused by electronegativity decreasing as the elements move
down the group meaning that the elements further down the group had a significantly greater reaction.
When the experiments were carried out there were reactions for both elements, both elements were
subjected to the same experiments which in most cases the results had consisted of a compound being

The Health Care System Of New Zealand Essay
Leadership is mandatory in all industries either it is health care or any other Business. As we already
know that leadership is a learning process and without a leader any organization cannot survive. The
Health care system of New Zealand has shown the significant changes within past decades and it
varies according to historical, political, and social contexts. The history shows that there were huge
health differences between the Maoris and non Maoris, which were due to socioeconomic and lifestyle
factors, distinctions and limited healthcare facilities. The Healthcare leadership of New Zealand shows
a continuous changes from 1800s to 2016.
The first hospital was built in Auckland and Wellington in year 1845 and 1846 respectively. The
hospitals were also build in Dunedin and in Christchurch in 1851 and 1862. The first legislation under
the hospital act was passed in 1885.The department of health was again reconstructed in 1920, Its first
head was Te Rangi Hiroa and later on its under the control of Maori doctor named Edward Ellison. The
New Zealand s national health care system was established in the 1930 and Maori Health councils
founded in 1931.Its main motive was to provide free medical care by salaried medical practitioners. At
that time, the system has two types of care, primary and secondary care. The primary care was
provided by state funds but it was controlled by Individual doctors and the secondary care was under
the state and utilized with the government subsidies.

At Cheyney University I am a member of Iconic Modeling and Dance group. With the modeling

several times a year. This is the first group I joined my freshman year. Being from Upper Marlboro,
Maryland and going to a college out of state was difficult for me to fit in. I began to see flyers for a
modeling group and I immediately tried out. I made the team and have been on the team for 4
semesters now beginning Fall 2015. Iconic has taught me to build confidence while performing on
stage in heels and that I can build a strong bond with each person on the team ... Show more content

This organization is at many colleges. I was invited to be a part of the organization because at the end
of my freshman year my GPA was a 3.1 cumulative. In the NSLS, I go to meetings generally once a
month and listen to a live broadcast of a celebrity or public speaker about their story in college or
family members story. Listening to the individuals helps me and other members of the society set
short term and long term goals for an academic plan. At the end of the year members of the society get
rewarded for all the hard work we have done that

Essay On Planned Parenthood
Planned parenthood has been a topic of controversy the last couple of years, as people throughout the
nation ask whether or not the healthcare organization should be defunded. When video footage was
released in 2015 of Planned Parenthood medical officials discussing the sale of fetal tissue to
researchers, it seemed likely that federal funds would be revoked as backlash from the public was
noted (Welch). Although the nonprofit organization does offer the termination of unplanned
pregnancies, the organization offers many more services to women and men, such as free birth control
and yearly health checkups backed by medical experts and more than 100 years of research in
reproductive health (Planned Parenthood). As many people struggle financially to provide for their
families, Planned Parenthood s services are a relief to those who otherwise would not be able to afford
healthcare, which is why the organization should not be defunded.
There are many people who believe pregnancies are a miracle and a blessing, but too often women
become victims of sexual assault, which at times result in unwanted pregnancies (Stewart 1). Despite
the fact many women choose to go through with their pregnancies, other women turn to abortions as a
solution to leave the traumatic experience in the past. However, not all women who choose to
terminate their pregnancies are victims of sexual assault, as many young couples become pregnant and
choose this path because they feel they are too young

Errors In The Alamo Movie
The Alamo was one of the most important events in settling the land in the western part of the country.
There are several movies about it but The Alamo 1960 is the movie used for this paper. This film did
an okay job depicting what really happened in that two week siege from February 23, 1836 to March
6, 1836, so there were some historical errors in the movie. A couple of the errors in the movie is that
the actual battle of the Alamo was fought at dawn when the enemies were asleep. Another was how
the Mexican forces were shown as the ones that wanted the battle but in reality, they were the ones
that were protecting what was theirs already. There were also some inaccuracies with individual
characters and event leading up to the battle were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the movie, Colonel Fanin s men were killed before the battle. But in reality, they were killed after
the battle so the only real reasonable way they never made it is because they didn t bring any supply
wagons. Another error comes from one of the dresses that Susannah Dickinson wore, the dress has a
zipper, it s not possible for her to have one on her dress since zipper weren t invented until 1914 and
even after that they were never used on dresses until the late 1930s. Another factual mistake is how
Bowie got a letter that his wife had died while he was away in the movie but in real life she had died
in 1833 and the battle was in 1836. In real life, it was her sister that came and accompanied Bowie
during his battle with the Mexicans. In the movie, Jim Bowie is hurt during the battle by an explosion
and he shown trying to recover in a room on the bed. But in real life he wasn t injured in an explosion
he was trying to get well from an illness that symptoms that he showed made it be believed that he had
pneumonia, tuberculosis, or typhoid. In the movie, Travis states that he is married but by the time of
the battle he had already been

A Brief Biography Of Pythagoras
A Brief Biography of Pythagoras Pythagoras was a Greek religious leader who made huge
developments in math. He is described as the first pure mathematician. Pythagoras is a very important
figure in the development of mathematics and he made many contributions to the math we use today.
Pythagoras was born c.570 BCE in Samos, Ionia, Greece and died on c.495 BCE on Matapontion.
There is not a lot of information about his childhood. In 532 BCE, Pythagoras emigrated to Italy,
where he attended a scientific school. One of the teachers who had a big influence in Pythagoras life
was Pherekydes. As well as Thales, a philosophe. Thales introduced him to math ideas and suggested
to go to Egypt to learn more about every subject. So he took ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

That at its deepest level, reality is mathematical in nature, 2. That philosophy can be used for spiritual
purification, 3. That the soul can rise to union with the divine, 4. That certain symbols have a mystical
significance, and 5. That all brothers of the order should observe strict loyalty and secrecy. In this
society were accepted both man and women. Brumbaugh says that it hard for us today, familiar as we
are with pure mathematical abstraction and with the mental act of generalization, to appreciate the
originality of this Pythagorean contribution because we do not know in what sense Pythagorean and
mathematikoi were studying mathematics. Regarding to this we do not know what work is his anf
what is his followers because there wasn t much writing. Even though from the Pythagoras actual
work nothing is known, Braumbaugh writes that he studied proportion of numbers, odd and even
numbers, perfect numbers, etc. and he states: Each number had its own personality masculine or
feminine, perfect or incomplete, beautiful or ugly. This feeling modern mathematics has deliberately
eliminated, but we still find overtones if it in fiction and poetry. Ten was the very best number: it
contained in itself the first four integers one, two, three, and four [1 + 2 + 3 + 4 = 10] and these written
in dot notation formed a perfect triangle. And today we know Pythagoras for his famous Pythagorean

Backround Of The Study On Victims Of Stalking
Chapter One: Introduction
Backround of the Study Stalking, according to The National Institute of Justice, October, 2007, is
defined as
a crime of power and control, is conservatively defined as a course of conduct directed
to a specific person that involves repeated (two or more occasions) visual or physical
proximity, non consensual communication or verbal, written, or implied threats, or a
combination thereof that would cause a reasonable person fear . Stalking behaviors may
also include persistence patterns of leaving or sending the victim unwanted items or
presents that may range from seemingly romantic to bizarre, following or laying in wait
or the victim, damaging or threatening to damage the victims property, defaming the
victim character, or harassing the victim via the internet by posting by posting personal
information or spreading rumors about the victim. Stalking can be carried out by two
methods in person and electronic mechanisms (phone, fax, GPS, cameras, computer
spyware and the internet/social media). According to a National Institute of Justice
violence survey in 2007, 1 in 6 women and 1 in 19 men nationwide have been stalked
during their lifetime. For both females and males victims, stalking was often committed
by people they knew or with whom they had a relationship. Two thirds of the females
victims of stalking (66.2%) reported stalking by a current or former intimate partner and

Why High School Should Start Later Research Paper
Teens need at least 8.5 hours of sleep a night , says Jilly Dos Santos, a teenager who launched a
campaign to start her school later in Columbia, Missouri, you would think anyone especially teens
would want to take advantage of those hours especially on a school night but, with high school times
as early as 7:05, the body itself has complications falling asleep leading students to wake up late
because of sleeping in the next morning which leads to students rushing out the door not having time
to eat breakfast. High school times should start between 8 to 9. Sleeping for a short period of time for
adolescents could lead to health risks and having loved ones affected as well.
It s better for specifically high schools to start later in the morning because the body s circadian
rhythm shifts during adolescence making it difficult for teens to fall asleep early, instead what it does
is makes adolescents sleepy after 10 which causes minimal time to sleep and making it harder for the
teen to focus the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With high schools starting later teens would be at rest and not forcing their bodies to fall asleep at a
certain time and if they do happen to wake up before school starts with 8 or more hours of sleep, it
would be a great opportunity for them to study or add on to notes. It would also leave time for the
student to eat breakfast and feel energized.
In conclusion high schools should start later so that adolescents won t be at health risks and their
estate will be positive and well rounded and ready to work making it easier not only for the student but
also the teachers! well rested kids learn better, says Heather Macintosh, of Start School Later. They re

Golfer with Brachial Neuritis Misdiagnosed Essay
During Dr. Wallace s clinic, one of the golf girls came into the Athletic Training Room complaining of
right shoulder pain. Dr.Wallace first began the evaluation by asking if she remembered how she hurt
her shoulder. The golfer said she had been at home during winter break and was wearing socks in the
house. She said she was running and fell and when she was falling, she attempted to catch herself by
using a nearby wall. Dr. Wallace then checked her strength by asking her to abduct her shoulders as far
as she could. He then added resistance and noticed weakness in her right shoulder. He tested the
ligaments and told her they were all intact. He also asked her if she had been experiencing any
numbness, tingling, etc. since she fell and she ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She still had some loss in her sensory neurons, but they showed some slight improvement from the
initial evaluation. A follow up MRI also showed a ...decrease in the brachial plexus thickening and
hyperintensity. (Gazioglu) The patient in this case study experienced rare symptoms. Patients who are
usually diagnosed with brachial neuritis have severe pain in the shoulder and some even have
localized pain. Only a small number of patients have pain that subsides to the fingers of the affected
side. This case study supports the signs and symptoms along with the treatment that our team doctor
prescribed. When I asked him about the situation, he said that he asked her if she had the flu recently
because sometimes the brachial plexus can give off flu like symptoms such as a fever, fatigue, cough,
and runny nose. He said this condition is called brachial neuritis. He said the majority of the time it
affects one side of the shoulder and that s why he asked the golfer is she had any of the symptoms or
the flu during the break. He said that the muscles become weak and in some cases, paralyzed. For
treatment, Dr. Wallace said he prescribes pain relievers so it won t bother the patient as much. He said
in severe cases, the patient will undergo surgery and then see a physical therapist to help regain
strength in the shoulder. When I asked if he thought the golfer had had brachial neuritis he said most
likely no since

Research Article Critique
Type of Research This article was based on a quantitative, exploratory study using several methods to
obtain the information. The type of research used for this article was exploratory and used a
combination of online self report Likert scale surveys as well as Path analysis. Additionally, this
article examined an alternate model was used to test a causal relationship between self compassion
and mindfulness.
Literature Review This subject is important to study for several reasons. Adolescents emotional well
being can make or break suicidal ideation, they can have positive self regard or negative, and it can
effect academic performance as well as personal relationships. This article covered stress, and its ...

This article shares findings from another study, a meta analysis regarding the connection between self
compassion and psychopathology. I would be interested in looking this one up for further review.
Although mindfulness was not related to another study this article addresses, it did share the
correlation found between self compassion and connectedness. This correlation is something that I see
that can mitigate some suicidal ideation.
Research Question The main question posed by this article is whether or not skills in mindfulness are
able to help adolescents navigate the difficulties of their developmental stage (Bluth Blanton, 2014).
Another question that was posed by the article was, if adolescents practice these mindful techniques,
will they become better equipped to handle negative emotions and events.
Research Hypothesis The hypothesis of this article was that adolescents would be able to develop
positive emotion well being and self compassion through the use of mindfulness (Bluth Blanton,
2014). It was theorized that self compassion and mindfulness were interdependent, and those who
practice the mindfulness techniques would be better able to develop positive self regard.
Methodology of Research According to the article, they conducted an online survey with sixty seven
urban high school adolescents. This was followed by the use of Path

Statement Of Purpose For MS And MS In International Business
The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. Without leaps of imagination,
we lose the excitement of possibilities. Dreaming, after all, is a form of planning. I knew at a young

The Disturbing World Of Human Trafficking
Man is a wolf to man. This Latin proverb starts the reader on a harrowing journey into the disturbing
world of human trafficking. John Bowe speaks to the typical American as he investigates the often
hidden and dangerous side of globalization. Humans have a natural desire to get ahead in life, even if
sometimes others have to suffer as a result. This attitude is the catalyst for what is known as modern
day slavery. The author sums up his book perfectly when he says, We all seek control. Control equals
power. Power corrupts. Corruption makes us blind, tyrannical and desperate to justify our behavior.
Indeed he proves that statement true throughout the book.

My Personal Interpretation Of The Entrepreneurship Forum
The following essay will describe my personal interpretation of the Entrepreneurship Forum,
conducted on October 16, 2015 at California State University, Monterey Bay. The forum focused on
four specific speakers and their journey as entrepreneurs. The below paragraphs will describe the
general emphasis of each speakers entrepreneurial story, including the challenges and rewards from
their experiences. The paper will then conclude with the lessons I found most important, and whether
or not the speaker s stories have made me more inclined to be an entrepreneur. The first speaker was a
woman named Kara Kytle, the founder and Chief Executive/Technology Officer for Assure
Technology. Kytle spoke with influence from her 20 years of experience in technology design and
leadership. Her bio mentioned some of the large companies she had worked for such as Intel and Sun,
which left me excited to hear her entrepreneur story. She began with the origin and reason behind
Assure Technology. Kytle informed the crowd that her company was started because of the fact her
mom suffers from frequent memory loss. The problem was she needed a product that would help her
mother locate her cellphone, remind her to keep the phone charged, and update the family on her
location/wellness. Kytle said since she could not find the proper products she decided to build one,
and this initiated the design of Assure Technology. Her biggest lesson for the crowd was building a
business is not easy. Kytle stressed

lack of communicating with the patient, leaving the patient alone for too long, or not answering the

Little Miss Sunshine shows that children also have a very competitive idea of what is perfect and acceptable for children. Society and media along with parents and peers show young children and young adults that being thin and beautiful is the only acceptable norm in the world. Even though not all children or young adults are think and beautiful they are still very beautiful. The world needs to show that all young children and young adults are beautiful, no matter if they are think or not, parents and peers need to stop discouraging young children and young adults to only be a certain way. All young children and young adults should have support and encouragement regarding their bodies. Background The topic of young children and young adults having body image issues is a topic that has been around for a few year. Society as a norm prompts being young and beautiful. Five to 8 year olds who think their moms are unhappy with their bodies are more likely to feel dissatisfied with their own, according to Common Sense Media s report (Wallace, 2015). I myself have never said something like this around a young child; however, I know my sister did something similar and her then seven year old daughter started criticizing her own body. My sister being the quick thinking hands on parent asked her why she thought her body image was negative and my niece said because this make me look fat like you said something did on you. From that point forward our family has Ban fat talk (Wallace, 2015). My sister or anyone else in my family has said this or that make use look fat, since we have many young children looking up to ... Black Lesbian And Gay Families Although marriage equality continues to be in the legislative and media spotlight, little attention has been placed on the significance of legalizing same sex marriage for Black families. This article will discuss the available research on Black lesbian and gay families, highlighting both the strengths and challenges these families negotiate. Focusing on the resources Black lesbian and gay families provide to the Black community, such as foster parenting and adopting Black children, mentoring runaway and throwaway Black youth and leadership on Black social justice issues, this article will demonstrate the value of Black lesbian gay families towards the larger goal of strengthening all Black families and communities. Keywords: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The struggle for marriage equality in the United States began in the 1970 s. It became more prominent in 1993 when the Hawaiian Supreme court declared that state s prohibition against marriage between people of the same sex to be unconstitutional (Weiss, 2013). In response to this, there was significant public outcry and opponents of marriage equality asserted that marriage could only be defined as a union between a man and a woman. This resulted in prohibitive legislation that was enacted in 1996 known as the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) DOMA prevented the federal government from recognizing same sex marriages (Baker, 2013). DOMA also allowed each state to refuse recognition of same sex marriages performed in other states. Be that as it may, in the 21st century, public and legislative support for marriage equality has grown and various national polls conducted since 2011 show that a majority of Americans support marriage equality (Live Science Staff, 2011; Newport, 2011). On May 9, 2012, Barack Obama became the first sitting U.S. president to publicly declare support for the legalization of same sex marriage. The provision of DOMA, forbidding the federal government from recognizing same sex marriages was struck down by the Supreme Court on June 26th of 2013. In the ensuing two years, 36 states, the District of Columbia, 24 Native American Tribal jurisdictions and Guam had legalized same sex marriage. However up ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

From kicking out Chiang and the GMD, to causing the deaths of millions of innocent chinese citizens, he shifted how citizens in China live their everyday life. His death in 1976 ended his reign, but the horrors and atrocities still continued on, disrupting the personal lives of all of China. As the chinese government creates new reforms and policies in China from 1945 1991, all human rights were constantly being violated, resulting in mass amounts of death caused by Mao s poor leadership. Many would argue that China doesn t deserve its position in the world, due to the millions of innocent deaths due to the violations of human rights. However, China s future is bright. For example, China changed its One Child Policy to a Two Child Policy in 2016, after about 35 years of loss of rights, family control, and murders. This improvement is one of many that China has taken into their hands to improve. The world should look at China s improvement, rather than its past, and acknowledge that China is trying to make China a better place than its previous China, no matter how hard that may ... • 7. Behavioral And Emotional Aspect Of Human Thinking approach deals with the behavioral and emotional aspect of human thinking. Humans are complex there is no single way to help them stop the behavior. REBT assumes a persons problems come from their mistaken cognitions, which they have perceived. Which have lead to over or under reactions, this behavior becomes habitual and the person creates a dysfunctional pattern. The pattern enables them to continue to repeat the poor behavior, although they know it is unhealthly. In addition REBT, we label our reactions either consciouly or unconsciouly, therefore if we feel depressed, anxious or fearful it is because we have convinced ourselves and validate our emotional reaction. One major tenet of REBT is external events do not determine a persons feelings, a persons individuals beliefs about the event determine if the person has a problem or not. Thus, we are not upset about an event in our particular life, what makes us upset is our interpretation of the event. Intervention The REBT framwork of Albert Ellis (1962) operates as one ot the most straightforward and well known models for explaining the connection between events, thoughts, beliefs, cognitions, emotions, and behaviors (Field, Beeson, Jones, 2015, p. 207)REBT has two competing models, one (classic) assumes dysfuncational negative feeling (anxiety, depressed, anger), differ from corresponsing feeling like concern, remorse and sadness. An organisation s strategy plays an important role of providing direction of where company wants to be and how best to allocate the company s resources to meet its objectives. The formulation of business strategies has evolved over the years and has been made more difficult in recent by the uncertain operating environments and global financial crises. The key to sustainable business is ensuring that the company s strategy proportions are aligned (Kim, W.C Mauborgne, R, 2009). Caterpillar Inc. has been in existence since 1925 and the company has faced its fair share of turmoil. The current global challenges coupled with a stronger dollar make it difficult for any organisation to operate but Caterpillar continues to outperform the competition. Under the Constitution the federal government can unquestionably suspend the privilege of the writ of habeas corpus if the public safety requires it during times of rebellion or invasion. The issue is whether Congress or the president holds this power. Historical perspective on that issue in the context of the Civil War requires a study of the actions of Congress and the president, Lincoln s defense of his suspensions of the writ, and presidential and congressional dealings with and reactions to each other. The relationship between Lincoln and Congress, like the power of suspension, has received limited historical attention, with the only extensive treatment a 1907 article by University of Wisconsin professor George Sellery. The writ of habeas corpus provides individuals with protection against arbitrary and wrongful imprisonment. But it does not necessarily protect other rights, such as the entitlement to a fair trial. In our country anyone accused of a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty. This seems to be the case unless you are accused of terrorism, then you are held outside of the US and are not subject to the same laws or privileges allowed within US jurisdiction. • 16. Brief History Of Of Solar Cells Essay Brief History of Solar cells The history of solar cells goes back to the 19th century. Edmond Becquerel was first to notice the effect of light on a certain molecule; in 1839 he found that two different brass plates immersed in a liquid produced a continuous current when illuminated with sunlight. We now believe that he had made a coppercuprous oxide thin film solar cell. (Fraas, 2016) this property is called the photoelectric effect, and could be harnessed. An article made by the Union of Concerned Scientist said, The first photovoltaic (PV) cells, made of selenium, were created in the late 1800s. In the 1950s, scientists at Bell Labs revisited the technology and, using silicon, produced PV cells that could convert four percent of the energy in sunlight directly to electricity. (How Solar Panels Work, 2015) Nowadays, researchers and scientist are trying to come up with new ways to develop solar cells. • 17. The Moral Principle Of The Right The moral principle of the right to die, is a way of thinking where a human being has the choice to end their life on their own terms. The right to die, also known as physician assisted suicide, is heavily contemplated in patients who are diagnosed as terminally ill. Being diagnosed as terminally ill may come at any point in one s life. Once a patient is given this news it puts a greater weight on their shoulders as now they must adjust to accommodate a new reality. Many patients fear that their near future will consist of becoming a burden to their family members financially as well as mentally, since they may not be able to afford the medical bills. Those who are terminally ill may worry that they are not going to be able to control their level of pain when it worsens as their physical condition deteriorates. With the diagnosis of a terminal disease many believe what follows will be unnecessary suffering that is brought on by the symptoms, many of which individuals would avoid at all costs. Currently there are only four states that have the Right to Die Law enacted; California, Oregon, Washington, and Vermont. Within these states patients have the option of physician assisted suicide, if their medical condition meets certain requirements to obtain this option. Terminally ill patients who live outside of these four states do not have the option of physician assisted suicide available to them. In this position paper I argue, that enacting a National Right to Die Law in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 18. Sexual Deprivation Increases Ethanol Intake Yolande Megni APPL 601 Homework 2 Sexual Deprivation Increases Ethanol Intake in Drosophila G. Shohat Ophir, K. R. Kaun, R. Azanchi, U. Heberlein There is scientific consensus today that addiction is a chronic disease that changes both brain structure and function, as abnormal functioning of the brain s reward system (the nucleus accumbens) has been associated with addictive behavior, originating either from a psychoactive drug, a monetary reward, a sexual encounter, or a satisfying meal. Drosophila melanogaster, a fruit fly was used in these experiments to further explain attraction for alcohol containing foods, and the effect of social experiences on behavior. The researchers used two different sexual experiences to generate two cohorts of male flies. The first cohort, rejected isolated, was subjected to courtship conditioning; they experienced 1 hour sessions of sexual rejection by mated females, three times a day, for 4 days. Such conditioning suppresses future male courtship behavior, even toward receptive virgin females. The second cohort of mated grouped flies experienced 6 hour sessions of mating with multiple receptive virgin females at a ratio of 1:5 for 4 days. Flies from each cohort were then tested in a two choice preference assay, in which they deliberately choose to consume food with or without 15% ethanol supplementation. There was a significant difference between the 2 cohorts of drosophila in different respects such as exposure to the social experience ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Simone Blount L.A.P 9/16/2016 Topic of Choice: Cite and Analyze three specific characters or events which lead Tony s revelations that would later foster his religious ambivalence The wisest man asks questions pertaining to the complexities of life. However, when no answers are delivered said man seeks answers in a place that seems most correct. The spiritual life relies on believers who have strong fundamental beliefs in hope. The unshaken foundation relies on believers who give their everlasting hope and have solace in this faith alone. The faith goes deeper than understanding, but full reliance on the church and its holy deities to solve the world s most mysterious questions, cure even the most powerful illness and still have faith when such actions do not occur. In Rudolfo Anaya s Bless Me, Ultima Antonio sought to find the answers he was so desperately in search for, however he never received an answer. Antonio s religious ambivalence is created through his journey of life from several encounters, life and death alike, and not receiving answers to the questions that he most desperately sought for. The aspect of Antonio s ideal benevolent God verses the God he was presented, and external sources, would all create different epiphanies that would lead him astray from the traditional church and into other spiritual realms. These realms would be an outlet for him to receive enlightenment to the situations of which he was presented. The Catholic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 20. Avoidance Strategies In The Workplace On the other hand, avoidance strategies are also often adopted as a coping mechanism for bullying. As Anderson, Labriola, Andersen, Lund, and Hansen (2015) reported victims of bullying remain passive and seldom ask for help therefore avoidance plays a pivotal role in depression. Depression via bullying and avoidance coping strategies is reflected in absenteeism levels in the workplace (McTernan et al., 2013) The study by Ortega et al. (2011) found that the risk of long term absence was higher for those exposed to bullying than for those not bullied. Victims of workplace bullying may adopt an avoidance strategy as a coping mechanism to escape the bully, by not attending work they avoid being bullied (Casimir et al., 2012). An avoidance strategy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Workplace bullying is a negative event and the interplay between such behaviour and the environment, namely negative and positive reinforcement, and negative and positive punishment, contributes to the development of depression (Kanter et al., 2008). The use of learned helplessness as an avoidance strategy is a further learning theory that reinforces behaviour by providing negative reinforcement which exacerbates and maintains depression (Cribb et al., 2006). Furthermore, using avoidance strategies such as absenteeism instead of coping with the event may cause victims to complain to others to receive sympathy and this positive reinforcement again exacerbates and maintains depression (Ramnero et al., 2016). Social observational learning further contributes to developing low self esteem and inadequate social skills which are risk factors of depression (Andersen et al., 2015), In addition, social observation learning through vicarious learning is a risk factor to developing depressive symptoms as witnessing hostile events may induce strong emotional responses (Bandura Richard, 1977). Rumination, as an adjunct behaviour in depression positively reinforces behaviour and predicts the length and severity of depression (Kanter et al., 2008). In sum, this paper has discussed how types of operant learning theories and social observational learning may explain how depression develops as a consequence of experiencing workplace bullying. As reported by Ramnero et al. (2016) implications of considering a learning theory approach to depression includes the development of clinical treatment strategies that understand the antecedents and consequences of behaviour as well as the biological and cognitive ... • 21. Group Synthesis Essay Discussion: The tested elements in group I were Lithium, Sodium and Potassium. All elements were a silvery grey until they were tarnished as the element reacted with the oxygen. Group I elements have an oxidation state of +1 which they can lose to increase stability and form compounds. Melting and boiling points decrease as the elements move down the group. All elements had a reaction but potassium had a greater more rapid reaction than the others. This indicates that elements that are lower in the periodic group will have a faster and greater reaction. This is due to its decreased electronegativity where it is easier for that element to lose its valence electron and hence having a faster and greater reaction, as the last elements in group 1 have a greater atomic radius than the beginning elements of group 1. In all elements there was a reaction which created hydrogen gas and made a solution that was alkaline. All the elements dissolved and turned the water purple; this indicates that all the elements tested are base, Alkali metals elements. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This was also caused by electronegativity decreasing as the elements move down the group meaning that the elements further down the group had a significantly greater reaction. • 24. Essay On Planned Parenthood Planned parenthood has been a topic of controversy the last couple of years, as people throughout the nation ask whether or not the healthcare organization should be defunded. When video footage was released in 2015 of Planned Parenthood medical officials discussing the sale of fetal tissue to researchers, it seemed likely that federal funds would be revoked as backlash from the public was noted (Welch). Although the nonprofit organization does offer the termination of unplanned pregnancies, the organization offers many more services to women and men, such as free birth control and yearly health checkups backed by medical experts and more than 100 years of research in reproductive health (Planned Parenthood). As many people struggle financially to provide for their families, Planned Parenthood s services are a relief to those who otherwise would not be able to afford healthcare, which is why the organization should not be defunded. There are many people who believe pregnancies are a miracle and a blessing, but too often women become victims of sexual assault, which at times result in unwanted pregnancies (Stewart 1). Despite the fact many women choose to go through with their pregnancies, other women turn to abortions as a solution to leave the traumatic experience in the past. However, not all women who choose to terminate their pregnancies are victims of sexual assault, as many young couples become pregnant and choose this path because they feel they are too young ... This film did an okay job depicting what really happened in that two week siege from February 23, 1836 to March 6, 1836, so there were some historical errors in the movie. A couple of the errors in the movie is that the actual battle of the Alamo was fought at dawn when the enemies were asleep. High school times should start between 8 to 9. Sleeping for a short period of time for adolescents could lead to health risks and having loved ones affected as well.
