Definition Of Comedy
Comedy
Comedy originates from drama focusing on the humour of a story to entertain the audience. This genre
has existed since theatre if not sooner in common storytelling as people have always loved to share
humour. As time passes comedy has taken on many sub divisions as more fragments of society and
other means have been combined into comedy. Its long standing survival is present in film as well,
seen as early as 1895 in Tables Turned on the Gardener by Louis Lumière who not only directed the
film but was also cinematographer. A recent example of where comedy has come is The Darjeeling
limited which has a grade which has saturated colours, slightly higher contrast and an intricate colour
palette. (The Darjeeling Limited, 2007)

Parexel Case Comparison Paper
Introduction While social media platforms present avenues for the freedom of expression, the rules or
regulations that guide the privilege may sometimes be curtailed or applied wrongly. Employees and
organizations are facing the dilemma on what to post or not to post on these platforms. An employee
may decide to air something through these public arenas without the knowledge that their actions may
surpass their rights and thus infringe on others rights or cause damages to other people (Boyce, 2014).
On the other hand, an organization may control the communication of employees on social media
platforms to the extent that it violates their rights and privileges. It is in this respect that this paper
explores the Facebook and Praxel cases as they are related to these matters. Comparison and Contrast
between the Two Situations The Facebook and Parexel cases provide differences in the way that
protected concerted activities are applicable under the National Labor Act. For instance, in the
Facebook case, American Medical Response Company dismissed an employee of her duty for posting
derogatory comments about her supervisor via Facebook. According to the labor board, the company
illegally terminated Souza and denied her access to union ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

employee filed an unfair labor practice charge with a regional NLRB office alleging that her discharge
was a mere retaliation for exercising her rights within Section 7 (Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell
Hippel LLP, 2011). However, her concerted activities were not protected since there was no proof that
her complaints had mutual aid or benefits with her workers. Thus, while Parexel engaged in illegality,
the employee did not act for the benefit of other fellow

An Ethical Will Over a Monetary or Property Will
In todays world an Ethical Will seems almost foreign to many people. A monetary or property Will is a
type of Will that people are most familiar with. This deals with ones property being distributed to a
younger generation upon or near death.2 The encyclopedia Judaica defines a Will as a, person s
disposition of his property in favor of another in such manner that the testator retains the property or
his rights to it until his death. 5(page65) Some may be unaware that there are different types of
monetary Wills. The first is called a Mattenat Bari, which means, gift by a healthy person. 5 (page 65)
The second type is called a Mattenat Shekhiv, a gift by a person critically ill. 5 (pg65) The last type is
called an Mezavveh ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Will would normally speak of following Jewish laws and Jewish ideals. The Ten Commandments
are sometimes stressed on their own since they are important for Jewish law. Jewish Ethical Wills
preach to protect the Torah, and keep the land of Israel safe. Also a Jewish Ethical Will usually says
one should be a responsible Jewish person who is charitable, respectful, hardworking, and continues to
study Judaism. 7
Ethical Wills are such an important piece in Judaism that they appear in the Talmud and Bible a
numerous amount of times. The first recorded Ethical Will is in chapter 49 of Genesis in the Bible.
This Will was about Jacob speaking to his kids before his death. After blessing each child, he spoke of
the missions and destinies of each child. He based what he said on the skills and talents that each child
possessed. Everything Jacob said wasn t easy to hear but he said what he wanted his kids to know. It is
actually said that Jacob was the first to get sick before dying giving him a chance to say his last words
to loved ones. Jacob actually prayed that people would become sick like he did so they could have this
opportunity since most people were healthy until the day they died in this time period. Jacob wanted
people to have the chance to give their children an Ethical Will.9
In chapters 33 and 34 of Deuteronomy, another Ethical Will is written about Moses. Before Moses
died, he offered

The Court Enforced Facebook s Terms Of Use And Based On A...
Professor Goldman blogged recently about a case involving Facebook where the court enforced
Facebook s terms of use and based on a venue clause in Facebook s terms transferred a dispute from
New York to California. The court delved into (and seemed to get bogged down in) the distinctions
between clickwrap and browsewrap agreements while eventually concluding that the plaintiff was
apprised of the terms (or should have been) so there was no reason not to enforce the contract. Kwan

Brown signed up for a 14 day trial of Clearwire. She received a confirmation email from Clearwire
one week prior to receiving her modem. She tried to connect her modem but was unsuccessful, and
she alleged that she was not required to click any sort of acknowledgement before trying to connect
her modem. She called Clearwire to cancel her service, but was persuaded by Clearwire to renew her
trial period. Clearwire had a service technician check on Brown s modem. The technician arrived
while Brown was at work and Brown s roommate left the technician alone to try to get the modem
working. After the technician left, she tried to get the modem working, and it still would not work
properly. According to Brown, she discovered that use of her microwave interfered with her modem
signal. She tried to cancel her service, and after going back and forth with Clewrwire, Clearwire
finally agreed that she could cancel her service. Clearwire sent her shipping labels to return the
modem, but according to her, by the time she received the shipping labels from Clearwire, the labels
had expired. This prompted another round of back and forth with Clearwire s customer service.
Ultimately, she was able to return the modem to Clewarwire.

The Importance Of Budget Deficit In The United States
Every year, the federal government must release a budget outlining their spending plans. The budget
shows the government s priorities and uses revenues received from taxes and borrowing. However, the
amount spent does not always equal the amount collected, as it would in a balanced budget. For over a
decade, the United States has had a series of deficits. With the debt now being about $20 trillion,
affirmative action is necessary to avoid a major economic crisis. The budget deficit could be
minimized by cutting spending in the defense department and by increasing alcohol and corporate
taxes. In the fiscal year 2015, Pentagon and related spending totaled $598 billion, accounting for 54
percent of all federal discretionary spending (Koshgarian 1). That money is then spent on soldier s
wages, weapons, military research, equipment maintenance, and overseas operation. The United States
currently spends more on its military than the sum of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
$223.5 Billion. 1). Alcohol is a legal substance and is taxed at an average rate of about 21% ( Tax and
Fee Rate 1). People consistently buy alcohol throughout the year, so it is a constant good that people at
all income levels consume. However, alcohol has negative health effects. Those effects, like anemia,
cardiovascular disease, and cancer, later cost American taxpayers billions in healthcare. Therefore, it
would be beneficial to raise taxes on alcohol; it would increase the overall price of alcohol, making it
less affordable to some and harder for minors to obtain. Alcohol would still be profitable, but there
would be higher revenues and the possibility of decreased long term healthcare spending, because of a
lower buying ability. Crimes related to alcohol would also decease over time, although not disappear
completely, so the money not spent on law enforcement and expensive healthcare could then be better
spent on decreasing the

Pike Life Lessons
Pike
Over the past three seasons we have seen quite some villains on the show. Most of them were grey ish:
they had the right intentions but not the right methods. Think of Diana Sydney, Queen Anya, Dante
Wallace, Queen Nia. There were some less redeemable villains like Cage Wallace and there are a few
that are just downright unlikeable (remember Dr. Lorelei Tsing?). However, Pike takes unlikeable
villains to new dimensions. Nothing that the show has done has made him even a bit likeable. I want
him dead and the sooner he dies, the better it will be. His character comes off as a one dimensional
villain that only cares about killing Grounders. His argument that every Grounder is the same is
bullshit, and if he doesn t see that he must be blind. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What s interesting is that this episode revealed that ALIE can only be seen by those that take her pills.
However, this contradicts with what we saw in the previous episodes. In the premiere and episode 2,
Murphy saw ALIE without taking a pill. This episode showed that Pike couldn t see ALIE when he
was talking to Jaha. Also, Raven did not see her until after she had taken the pill. I am curious to see
how that works and how exactly that bag works that Jaha carries around with him. I do hope that
ALIE s storyline doesn t get too supernatural. It seemed like Raven s leg just miraculously healed. We
also saw that Jaha said to Otan to go the other side where ALIE would be waiting for him. I must

Research Paper On Thermohaline Circulation
According to Green facts the Thermohaline Circulation (THC) is the Large scale density driven
circulation in the ocean, caused by differences in temperature and salinity. The oceans water has
different salt contents and different temperatures in different areas. The colder water which is cooled
at the poles is denser so will sink below the warmer water which is less dense. Surrounding water then
moves in to fill the gap as the colder water sinks, this water is then also cooled and will itself begin to
sink this creates the current. Cooler water is usually found at the poles because as sea ice forms the
salt content of the ocean increases, because freshwater is taken away when the ice forms. The THC
circulates the globe in a long continuous circle. However if the density or salt content of water is
changed then it can potentially shut off the THC, if water becomes less saline then it won t be as dense
so may not sink and rise in the same way. One way scientists believe it could be shut off is if glaciers
and ice caps melt, this would add a huge amount of freshwater into our oceans causing it ... Show

As ocean temperatures increase due to global warming they increase ice melt of these ice sheets and
glaciers by melting the floating ice from below. If the air temperatures increase then the ice will begin
to melt from above, creating pools of melted water that will in turn melt more of the surrounding ice.
This may not always result in a problem as it s expected that ice sheets reduce in size in the summer
months but recently what has been found is that less ice is formed during winter so in total the ice
sheets and glaciers are being reduced in size, adding more and more fresh water to our

can benefit Broadway Cafe by identifying and analyzing the effect of these forces on its business. The
benefits include improved decision making, faster time to market, better productivity, improved
competitive advantage, more profits and greater customer satisfaction. It also helps in achieving
operational excellence. Porter s Five Forces Model Threat of Entrants Porter s First force is the threat
of Potential Entrants. Statistics have shown the industry to be slowing down, therefore making
competition high and the threat of new entrants low. Broadway Cafe has a small market presence, but

The supply of coffee is affected by weather conditions, and the health of coffee trees. According to the
article Coffee Industry to Adopt New Pricing Plans, the major players in the coffee industry have seen
profits decline because of over crowding of the market. An over crowded market will give the coffee
suppliers bargaining power. As Broadway Cafe demands high quality coffee and there is no
availability of substitutes for the coffee beans that Broadway Cafe use. Therefore, the bargaining
power of supplier increases. Threat of Substitute Products In the premium foods and coffees industry,
there are substitute products. According to Mary Coulter, the best way to evaluate this threat is to ask
whether other industries can satisfy the customer need that this industry is satisfying (Coulter). Other
beverage industries can satisfy the customer s need for a drink, and other food industries can satisfy
the customer s need to eat. There are obviously good substitutes to Broadway products and the threat
is high. This is why it is very important for Broadway Cafe, to innovate and differentiate. By
providing free Wi Fi in the Cafe and marketing signature food products from the famous old recipes of
Grandfather, Broadway Cafe can create different image than its competitors. Rivalry Among Existing
Competitors Porter s fifth force that Porter describes is current rivalry among existing firms. In the

An Analysis of Shakespeare s Sonnet 73 Essay example
An Analysis of Shakespeare s Sonnet 73
Sonnet 73 by William Shakespeare is widely read and studied. But what is Shakespeare trying to say?
Though it seems there will not be a simple answer, for a better understanding of Shakespeare s Sonnet
73, this essay offers an explication of the sonnet from The Norton Anthology of English Literature:
That time of year thou mayst in me behold
When yellow leaves, or none, or few, do hang
Upon those boughs which shake against the cold,
Bare ruined choirs, where late the sweet birds sang.

As after sunset fadeth in the west; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since its introduction in the 1530s, nearly every major British and American poet has made use of the
form (Sonnet xxi). In Versification, James McAuley defines that the sonnet is, In the strict sense, a
fourteen line poem usually in iambic pentameters. The Italian or petrachan type, consists of an octet,
usually rhymed cdecde or in some permutation of these. The English sonnet type consists of three
quatrains plus a concluding couplet, rhymed variously, the Shakespearian form being abab cdcd efef
gg. In sixteenth and seventeenth century use, the term was also loosely applied to any lyric poem,
especially a love poem, as in [John] Donne s (1572 1631) Songs and Sonnets (82).
The sonnet, however, is not simply a fourteen line poem having a prescribed rhyme scheme. Certainly
most sonnets are fourteen line poems, and most sonneteers do confine themselves to prescribed rhyme
patterns (Bender and Squier xxii).
The theme, in Sonnet 73, is the poet s aging. Each quatrain develops an image of lateness, of
approaching extinction of a season, of a day, and of a fire, but they also apply to a life (Abrams et al.
867). The poet compares his age to three images through the quatrains: autumn, the dying of the year
(first quatrain); the dying of the fire (third quatrain). The first line draws a picture of himself, in me,
and in a certain time, That time of year, of his life (surely, he is old now). We can see that the

Summary Of David Platt s Apology To Southern Baptists
International Mission Board (IMB) president David Platt has issued an apology to Southern Baptists
for the division which stemmed from the board s support of a New Jersey Islamic society s right to

California to apologize over the divisive amicus brief that IMB joined. The issue was prompted by the
IMB s support for the Islamic Society of Basking Ridge, N.J. (ISBR) in a discrimination lawsuit filed
against a local planning board. Both the IMB and the Ethics Religious Liberty Commission joined the
brief, the Baptist Press notes. I apologize to Southern Baptists for how distracting and divisive this has

With at least 49 deaths, the ship definitely has some strange things going on, that cannot be explained.
The deaths that happened during the ship s history, is linked with the many spirits that roam the area.
The spirits of Captain Treasure Jones, John Pedder, Jackie continue to haunt the passengers from time
to time. There were some reports that Captain Jones loved to smoke a good cigar and at times the
smell of cigar smoke can still be detected. John Pedder s scream can be heard from the door he was
killed by. Jackie likes to play in the pool areas of the ship. Jackie can be heard singing and laughing.
Sarah can also be heard singing with Jackie. Shadow people have been reported by people in all
locations of the ship and at all hours of the day and night. Many people have photographed shadow
people. There are many theories as to what shadow people are. Some believe they are possibly inter
dimensional beings slipping between our dimension and theirs. Others believe it is just another form
of ghost. Whatever they are or wherever they come from, one thing is for certain. When you see one
you won t forget it. Shadow people come in many shapes and sizes. People who have seen shadow
people say that they seem to have a strange smokey look to them. Balls of light have also been
witnessed in many areas of the ship. They are very solid in appearance, and can be seen in pitch black
just cruising along in the darkness. These can not be explained well, as there is no firm evidence about
it. Cabin B340 is the location of another vicious murder aboard the Queen Mary. There has been a lot
of paranormal activity related to this room, and so many requests by guests for new rooms. Because of
this, they have sealed off the room and removed the cabin number. They do not under any

Gambling In Edith Wharton s The House Of Mirth
Other characters in The House of Mirth are not affected by gambling and risk taking as severely as
Lily is because they have the financial means and power to gamble or recover from their mistakes. In
the nineteenth century and more specifically the Gilded Age of New York City, marriage and money
were what measured power, so since Lily had neither of those, her position in that society was very
fragile. In Victoria Shinbrot s article Risk and Subversion in Edith Wharton s The House of Mirth , she
ponders the question of Lily s peers being ever [so] conscious of the looming perception of her public

Her first and recurring risk is with Lawrence Selden, a bachelor who tries to distances himself from
Old New York. Lily s first decision in the book was to go on walk alone and away from Grand Central
Station with Selden, she gets caught coming from Selden s apartment by Mr. Rosedale and risks again
by lying about why she was in that building. Lily goes on another walk with Selden, but this time at
Bellomont, as a result of this walk Mr. Percy Gryce decided to leave Bellomont without giving Lily a
marriage proposal, which left her still in debt and financial ruin. Lily will pay the ultimate price for
throwing her lot in with Selden since her risks with him always leave her in a worse off state than she
was before she decided to interact with him (Shinbrot 41). Another person that Lily takes a serious
risk with is Gus Trenor; he gives Lily financial advice and loans her some money and in return he
wants sex from her (Wharton 116). This is a scary scene for Lily because it is a near rape situation and
also because it starts rumors about Lily and Gus Trenor having relations which does not help her

Criticism of Pascal s Wager Essay
The proof for the existence of God is an issue that may never be resolved. It has caused division
among families and friends, nations and society. The answer to the question does God exist? is almost
an impossible one to give with certainty seeing that there is a variety of people, ideas, cultures and
beliefs. So how does one know if one s actions here on earth could have eternal consequences? What
is, if any, a safe bet to make? Blaise Pascal was a 15th century philosopher and a mathematician who
proposed the idea that although one cannot know for certain that God exists, one can make a safe bet
that it is far better to believe in God than not to believe in God. This is not a proof for the existence of
God but rather an idea that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But even so, when thought about it carefully, that person lived an admirable life a life to be proud of.
All the earthly pleasures mentioned above will not take a great deal of importance at the end of that
person s life. Thus, one can conclude that even though the person in a sense did waste time praying,
going to Mass, offering sacrifices, perhaps in the priesthood, living a chaste and celibate life, and
fasting, all of these things were not for the detriment of the person but for the benefit of the person. On
the other hand Pascal presents another situation in his argument. If a person does not believe in God
and lives a completely sinful lifestyle partying, receiving all pleasures, drinking, doing heroin, having
a blast and in the end finds out that there is not a God, then that person is free in a sense. That person
will not be eternally condemned for all the wrongdoing that person did in life. In Pascal s final
scenario, he presents an alternative outcome to the previous situation. If the aforementioned person
comes to the end of life to find out that there is a God then that person has lost everything. That person
will receive the ultimate punishment: eternal damnation in the absence of God. Hence Pascal s belief
that it is in a person s best interest to believe in God because the odds are in the favor of the believer.
However, Pascal s argument has quite some flaws in the way it is brought forth.

PURPOSE. The purpose of this study is to examine how CRISPR genome editing technology can be
used to change heart muscle dystrophin expression and enable proper muscle function in dystrophic
mice. Dystrophic cardiomyopathy is the most common cause of death in patients with DMD
(Duchenne muscular dystrophy).
METHODS. SaCas9 (clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeat associated 9 form
staphylococcus aureus) were clustered together with RNA into a vector (adeno associated virus
vector). The vector was then inserted into the mdx/Utr+/ baby mice.
RESULTS. CRISPR mediated genome editing was able to cut out the mutated exon 23 found in DMD
mice. Immunofluorescence was used to demonstrate that the dystrophin protein expression was indeed
reestablished. Approximately 40% of dystrophin protein expression was regained. Muscle function as
well as expression was also reestablished. Cardiac muscle contractility improved significantly.
KEY RELEVANCE. This information which the study provides is useful because it exhibits
confirmation that CRISPR mediated genome editing can be used as a possible method for repairing
dystrophic cardiomyopathy anatomically as well as for other genetic diseases.

A Proposal to Ban Smoking in Public Areas Essay
A Proposal to Ban Smoking in Public Areas
Every year, there are over 400,000 smoking related deaths in the United States. A large percentage of
these are due to lung cancer, whose leading cause is smoking. However, not all deaths are smokers
themselves. Anyone in the vicinity can fall victim to second hand smoke. These people, through no
action of their own, can have their lives threatened.
This problem, which plagues all Americans, should have action taken on a local scale to help protect
the health of the public. The Ames City Council is in the process of debating a city ordanince which
whould ban smoking in all public places, with the exception of those designated as smokng areas . A
public place shall be defined by Subsection ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Keep in mind, these people don?t smoke themselves, but they are still put at risk by the actions of
others. The Saskatchewan Instite?s webpage goes on to state that half of all children exposed to
second hand smoke are exposed at home. While this is an important fact, its importance lies in
opposite, half are exposed in places other than at home. In America 25,000 people are killed every
year in car accidents, while 53,000 die from second hand smoke (from Office on Smoking and Health,
Center for Disease Control and Prevention, http://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/sgr/sgr_1988/). Action must
be taken to protect these people from a threat over which they have no control.
In addition to statistics, a situation to illustrate the necessity for this proposal can be considered.
Imagine a family, Mom, Dad, and their three children, are going out to eat in a nice restaurant for
Mom?s birthday. When the waitress asks if they?d like smoking or non smoking, they Dad requests
non, because he is concerned about his family?s health. However, the truth about this decision is that
in reality, just being in the restaurant increases the threats to their family.
Those who are opposed to this ban contend that it will hurt economic prosperity of their
bars/taverns/clubs/restaurents, which are the areas that would be most effected by this ordanence.
However, according to a recent study conducted by the Substance Abuse Policy Research Program in
New York, this is not the case. Quite the

these differences could have resulted from the differences in biological and socialization aspects
between males and females. For instance, women depict better socialization abilities and verbal skills
compared to men. Moreover, women are better in acquiring language than men.
The conclusions drawn by the author:
The authors concluded that there exist difference in the overall use of Language Learning Strategies

The Importance Of A Network And Its Purpose
1 Describe the concept of a network and its purpose. In your own words, explain why networks are
important and what the potential utilization in healthcare is or might be. A network is a group of
computers that are linked together to improve communication and data transfer (Cowley, 2012). Each
computer in the network can still function independently. These networks communicate over wires,
cables, radio waves, or satellites (Wager, Lee, Glaser, 2013). The purpose of a network is to connect
computers to facilitate a common purpose, for example, communication within a hospital or nursing
home for patient care. In my role as an MDS Coordinator, my computer is connected to our company s
network; however, my access to the network is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Currently, there are some states, like Delaware, who have a functional Statewide Health Information
Network; but more work needs to be done in this area to make a Nationwide Health Information
Network a reality. A major hurdle that needs to be overcome is interoperability, just because multiple
networks can be interconnected, does not automatically mean that computers on various networks can
communicate with each other. The HITECH Act set forth the vision for an interconnected healthcare
system in the United States. Providers have no choice but to work to comply with the vision. 2
Describe and compare three major types of networks. Come up with healthcare utilization examples
for each of the network types you described. Three major network types are local area networks
(LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and virtual private networks (VPNs). The LAN covers a smaller
geographic area than the WAN. The trade off is the LAN transfers data at higher rates than does the
WAN. Control of the network varies between LANs and WANs. LANs are usually controlled by the
organization, along with the hardware and software running on the LAN; whereas, WANs are usually
controlled by a third party (Cowley, 2012; Wager, 2013). A VPN allows remote access to an
organization s LAN, this type of network is helpful when employee s need to access data remotely,

Similarities Between Organized Crime In Japan And America
Organized Crimes in Japan and America
Throughout the world organized crimes have had an unfortunately large effect on different countries.
Organized crimes have been circling around for many years. In most countries, organized crimes have
increased while in others, it has decreased. Organized crimes is a category of transnational, national,
or local groupings of highly centralized enterprises run by criminals, who intend to engage in illegal
activity, most commonly for monetary profit. Although the world are surrounded by different
organized crimes, Japan and America have the most successful criminals in organized crime. They
have many similarities and differences within their judicial system. The Yakuza, Fukuoak, and The
Mafia are just some of the organized criminals groups in Japan and America. Japan has some of the
larger gangs in the world. In 2010 the Yakuza police arrested an ... Show more content on

and they have very few illegal drugs in Japan that gangs an drug dealers can get their hands on in the
country. In an article titled Trafficking In Women From Thailand to Japan, the article concentrates on

Affordable Health Care
I too believe that healthcare should be a right for all citizens. Health is defined by the World Health
Organization (WHO) as a state of complete physical, mental, and social well being (Macionis, 2015,
p. 267). Preventative and acute care is important to maintain health and is needed by everyone in the
world. Since the creation of the Affordable Care Act many have argued the negative repercussions of
the program often neglecting the positives. The fact is, most working adults (59.5%) are offered
insurance for themselves and their families at a discounted rate through their employers (Robert Wood
Johnson Foundation, 2013). Despite a 10% decline in employers that offer insurance compared to
2011, the option is still available for half of the working population (Robert Wood Johnson
Foundation, 2013). Small business owners that employ fifty or more employees are eligible to provide
subsidized health insurance for their employees (HealthCare.gov, 2016). In addition, 30.1% of
American s utilize either Medicaid or Medicare, a government program that aids or supplements
insurance cost ( Medicare and Medicaid, Age and Income Random Samplings, 2013) . The Affordable
Care Act asks that the other 8.4% of the population purchase health care through the marketplace
where they are able to select and tailor their health care ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Is it with the government, with employers that chose not to offer health insurance to their employees,
or with the insurance companies that charge enormous rates to increase their profits? In my opinion, it
lies with the insurance companies. Their bottom line is profit! If the rates provided were truly
affordable everyone would have access to health care and it would truly be a right. However, private
insurance companies, a multi billion dollar business, is invested in the profitability of illness not
keeping people healthy. The Affordable Care Act is working to eliminate health care disparity leading

Asses the Extent to Which the Ideal of Equality Is Shared...
Assess the extent to which the ideal of equality is shared by all Australians
The idea of mateship and the trendy notion of a fair go for all emphasises the strength of Australian
support for the value of equality of opportunity, the ideal goal of all Australians having equal
opportunity to achieve success. Notions of Egalitarianism are what Australia strives to accomplish
within its society, through the implementing and practicing of legislations such as Anti Discrimination
Act (1997), Sex Discrimination Act (1954) and Racial Discrimination Act (1975) which were
established in order to conclude unfair treatment based on people s looks, beliefs or choices. Human

Only recently, the Australian Government introduced reforms to de facto relationships. This meant
that same sex couples are entitled to the same benefits and subject to the same obligations as opposite
sex couples (Property Relationships Act 1984 NSW). The legislation of Same Sex Relationships
(Equal Treatment in Commonwealth Laws General Law Reform) Act 2008 removed discriminatory
treatment of same sex couples. These acts included laws about tax, superannuation, Medicare, workers
compensations, employment entitlements and family law. Homosexuals are discriminated against in
terms of marriage, donating blood and are also victims to abuse due to their status. A study conducted
by the Victorian Gay and Lesbian Rights Lobby revealed that 84% of participants aged between 14
and 21 had been treated unfairly because of their sexuality and almost half had suffered verbal or
physical abuse. With these inequalities present, it is difficult to achieve equality and fairness around
this group. Although Australia proposes the ideal of egalitarianism, it is hard to justify whether it is
present or not. The ideal goal and desire which Australia values within its diverse hybrid society is
that Australia is a lucky country , priding itself of mateship and equal opportunity which establishes
Australia s nation identity. However with conflict and discrimination against groups such as Muslim

This requires a lot of work, but the funds raised can be huge. However, be sure that you are willing to
put the work in to make sure the event goes smoothly. Also, be sure that your group can get enough
donations of items to be auctioned off, and people to bid on them in order to justify a silent auction.
Silent auctions often work better if they are done consistently. So, this will work better if this is a
mission trip that will be occurring every year. That is because more people know about the silent

The Song Structure And Analysis Of Mystery Song 3
At first listen, Mystery Song Three was unlike anything I had ever heard. I knew it was loud, I knew it
was aggressive, and that was about it. We were challenged with analyzing a mystery song by defining
its structure, basic description, expression, and historical and cultural context. Even without knowing
anything about the song, you can find these elements just by listening to it. 2. Song Structure A song s
structure can be best described as its organization. I found that Mystery Song Three is a ABABC
modified verse chorus form. This means there was five vocal sections with three different types of
sections A the verse, B the chorus, C the conclusion. For clarification I have named each of the five
vocal sections as follows: vocal section 1 A1, vocal section 2 B1, vocal section 3 A2, vocal section 4
B2, vocal section 5 C. The song began with an instrumental introduction. At first, there was only the
cymbals playing but very quickly the texture thickened when guitar and drums came in. These were
both aggressive and fast paced. Section A1 was the first verse section of the song. Since this was the
first time that the vocalist came in we learned that the vocalist was male with a rough sound and
midrange voice. The instrumentation of this section featured a repeating guitar riff and drum sounds.
Overall, this section had an angry sound emphasized with swear words and angry lyrics, had a heavy
texture created by the guitar and drums, and had a fast tempo. This section was then followed by an
instrumental section to create a transition from A1 to B1. Section B1 was the first chorus. This section
also featured a fast tempo, aggressive guitar part, and percussion. However, this section had slower
vocals than A1. Additionally, new vocal techniques were used such as blues influenced slides on the
lyric No . Also the rhythm changed which emphasized the lyric burnt in to my skin to further relate the
anger in the song. After another instrumental break, A2 verse began. The melody of A1 repeats with a
very similar instrumental part. However, the lyrics from A1 are different, and a No shout is added
differing more from A1. This further communicates and anger and frustration expression in the song.

Brian Montgomery Case Study
Brian Montgomery, the Federal Housing Administration commissioner, understood the significance.
His agency insures home loans, traditionally for the same low income minority borrowers Mr. Bush
wanted to help. When he arrived in June 2005, he was shocked to find those customers had been lured
away by the fool s gold of subprime loans. The Ameriquest settlement, he said, reinforced his concern
that the industry was exploiting borrowers. In December 2005, Mr. Montgomery drafted a memo and
brought it to the White House. I don t think this is what the president had in mind here, he recalled
telling Ryan Streeter, then the president s chief housing policy analyst. It was an opportunity to

Falcon ran the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight, a tiny government agency that
oversaw Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, two pillars of the American housing industry. In February
2003, he was finishing a blockbuster report that warned the pillars could crumble. Created by
Congress, Fannie and Freddie called G.S.E. s, for government sponsored entities bought trillions of
dollars worth of mortgages to hold or sell to investors as guaranteed securities. The companies were
also Washington powerhouses, stuffing lawmakers campaign coffers and hiring bare knuckled
lobbyists. Mr. Falcon s report outlined a worst case situation in which Fannie and Freddie could
default on debt, setting off contagious illiquidity in the market in other words, a financial meltdown.
He also raised red flags about the companies soaring use of derivatives, the complex financial
instruments that economic experts now blame for spreading the housing collapse. Today, the White
House cites that report and its subsequent effort to better regulate Fannie and Freddie as evidence that
it foresaw the crisis and tried to avert it. Bush officials recently wrote up a talking points memo

John M Barry On Politics Analysis
John M. Barry examines the nuances of power in America by comparting and connecting and the
concepts behind politics, sports, and the media in Power Plays. As a means of maintaining the
audience s attention, Barry uses an informative narrative tone through different specific examples
along with anecdotal experiences to prevent the topic from becoming entirely conceptual. Barry, a
former college football coach, is able to draw parallels between sports and politics displaying how
powerful agendas affect lives. Barry focuses much on the devious tactics that are used to create or

Jim Wright and Newt Gingrich were both House Speakers. Jim Wright was the Speaker beginning in
1987, however he was forced to resign in 1989. Barry explores how Gingrich, who Barry recalls was
ruthless in the coldest way, exploited and manipulated the media to unfairly and unjustly bring down
Wright through a scandal. While it was Gingrich who orchestrated the attacks on Wright, Barry
focuses mainly on the media as being a player in the game. Gingrich understood the influential power
of the media. While most politicians dislike the media as most of what is written exists as lies or
exaggerations, powerful politicians are able to manipulate the media to further their own needs. Inside
the game, the politician with the better tactics, for example the one who knows what to say, when to
say it, and with what tone should it be said, will have a more positive relationship with the media and
a greater chance to abuse the influence the media has. Outside the game, similarly to athletes, money
has power and can be crucial in establishing relationships. Therefore the man who has greater money
has a greater potential to create positive ties with the media. Again, while this book, due to the time
period, relates this power of influence struggle between Wright and Gingrich, a more up to date
comparison would be between potential Presidential Candidates Hillary Clinton, who owns the media
through inside the game tactics and Donald Trump, who holds influence outside the game by using his
own non lobbyist

Grief and Trauma:

As a young child, my parents unintentionally negatively impacted my self esteem in a variety of
different ways. Due to my undiagnosed learning disability, I often misinterpreted or failed to
understand rules and instructions without my parents realizing it. I would frequently get in trouble
because I broke a rule or failed to do what my parents wanted me to without even knowing it. My
parents thought that I was just being difficult so they would yell at me or punish me and because I had
no idea what I had done wrong, I felt like I was a bad kid because I was always getting in trouble. I
would also misinterpret what my parents were trying to say a lot of the time, which was also often
damaging to my self esteem. For example, when I scored my first goal playing hockey I was so
excited and proud of myself and thought my parents would be too, since they would always tell our
family if one of my siblings scored. However, my dad told me that he did not care if I scored a goal
and I interpreted it to mean that he did not care about me or that I scored and only cared if my siblings
did, but what he meant was that he was proud of me whether I scored or not as long as I was doing my
best. My parents also damaged my self esteem by belittling me or shaming me when they got
frustrated because I was not doing what they wanted. For example, my parents would say things like,
why can t you be more like your sister, she can put her seat belt on, why can t you? . This led me to
feel like there was something wrong with me and that I wasn t good enough. It also caused me to start
comparing myself to my siblings, which made me feel inadequate because it seemed like no matter
how hard I tried, I could never measure up to what they could do. However, once my parents
discovered that I had a learning disability that caused me to misinterpret nonverbal, social and
complicated verbal cues, they did their best to

The Effects Of Music On The Revolutionary War
To deny the power of music is a waste of an excellent source, one important and extremely useful in
the way we learn. Though some people would look at music as a step forward in the progression of
humanity, it is known to be a much stronger force; and for some, it really defines their existence.
Music is definitely a driving force in society: it has been in existence since the beginning of human
race. The average human spends many hours a day listening to music, whether it s taken as a main
interest or just as something to satisfy us for the day. Music has and certainly had a great effect on
how we think and act, for all one knows, affecting our intelligence. Music served a very functional
role in the Revolutionary War. Songs were written and sang for different reasons. Mainly, they were
used to help make people thrilled, emotional, make fun of the enemy, forget the terrible realities of
war. During the American Civil War, music played a distinguished role on both sides of the conflict:
the Union and the Confederate. At the time, on the battlefield, a variety of instruments were being
played to issue and lead marching orders and even, at times, to simply boost the Sarkisyan 2 morale of
a soldier. Music was a major diversion from the slaughtering and killing going on, helping the soldiers
deal with their homesickness and boredom. WWI had a major impact, not only on Europe, but on the
world. The music during the time is also chaotic for the most part, like the war

Civil Litigation Process
Civil litigation describes non criminal matters to be handled in the Court. These civil conflicts are
most often brought on from business or personal disputes. There are several phases of the civil
litigation process: pleadings, discovery, trial, and if pursued an appeal.
The civil litigation process begins in the pleadings, when the plaintiff issues their complaint to the
court, explaining how their party was in some manner harmed by actions taken by the defendant.
Another copy is delivered to the defendant, and they are usually given a set amount of time to
respond, referred to as the answer, which is their side of the conflict. The civil litigation then proceeds
to the discovery phase, where both parties are gathering information that is relevant to the case from
each other or outside sources. This information is collected through written questions, document
requests, and depositions. Discovery is the most lengthy phase of civil litigation, contingent on the
specific issues, the bulk of discovery to be administered, and the availability and trial date to be set by
the court. Once at the trial, both parties have opportunities to produce evidence backing their defenses
or claims to a judge or a jury. The plaintiff and defendant may call upon witnesses to be questioned

Anne Hutchingson and Freeborn Garrettson
In 1637, Anne Hutchinson stood trial before the General Court of the Massachusetts Bay Colony.
During her examination, she confessed that she had experienced an immediate revelation from God.
She described hearing the voice of his own spirit to my soul. After discussion with authorities, John
Winthrop concluded that ...this is the thing that hath been the root of all the mischief. She was found
guilty and banished from the colony. In 1775, Freeborn Garrettson had a similar mystical experience.
In the night I went to bed as usual, and slept till day break: just as I awoke, I was alarmed by an awful
voice, Awake, sinner, for you are not prepared to die. This was strongly impressed on my mind, as if it

When Garrettson had supernatural experiences like this, they served not only as significant moments
for him, but also part of the material that he recorded for the good of others. This new emphasis is
connected to the shift in authority. People were no longer concerned solely with the opinions of the
learned, and as such were free to value their own religious experiences as they saw fit. In such
settings, people naturally turned away from common external influences, particularly in worship. The
result was a renewed emphasis on individual experiences, such as those reported by Garrettson. Anne
Hutchinson s experience was scrutinized as part of her trial. Garrettson s was accepted as a legitimate
spiritual event. This contrast displays the influence of democracy through the increased acceptance of
individual religious experiences. The third impact of democracy on American religion is a sense of
grand ambition. The hope and optimism that were so central to democracy often resulted in dreams
and aspirations of significant social change and progress. Methodists like Garrettson were particularly
noteworthy in their ambition. Though the Methodist system used a hierarchical system of governance,
that system was intended to be a force for liberation. We see this grand ambition of liberation clearly
in the life of Garrettson. Shortly

Profiling is a Necessary Means for Discovering and...
Many studies have been made in the field of criminology, concluding that profiling is a necessary
means for discovering and apprehending criminals. There are many different types of profiling and
many people think of profiling differently; however, all types of profiling does work and is proven to
help stop crime. This paper will explore the following: profiling and different forms of it, the closely
related stop and frisk policy, different cities that have proven statistics that profiling does work, how
airports are now profiling, and different serial killers that have been apprehended due to work from
profilers.
9/11 led to a re evaluation of racial profiling as a means of combating crime, and terrorism. Indeed,
many people who have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They take what they know about an unknown suspect and his actions and try to generate additional
information (Grabianowski).
What exactly is profiling is what many people wonder and they don t always get the right definition.
What they usually think first is that it is racial profiling and it is bad, we should not do it, but that s
only one type of profiling and it is not necessarily bad in all cases. The Merriam Webster dictionary
defines it as, the act of or process of learning information about someone based on what you already
know. Under the narrow definition, racial profiling occurs when a police officer stops, questions,
arrests, and/or searches someone solely on the basis of the person s race or ethnicity. Critics typically
use this definition when condemning racial profiling, as do law enforcement agencies when denying
the existence of racial profiling (Cleary). Most people think that the profiling is a bad thing because of
controversial topics like NYC s stop and frisk policy and from what the liberal news puts out. But in
most cases profiling is good for communities and helps to catch criminals before they can do harm.
The main difference between what people think and what profiling is comes down to two words
disparity and discrimination.
Disparity and discrimination are closely related but there is one major difference between them that
sets them far apart. Disparity is

In the recent year and a half, citizens of almost every nation were exposed to information regarding
the mass surveillance used by many governments to spy on their citizens. This information, released
by Edward Snowden, confirms the long held theory that mass amounts of data regarding the personal
habits and communications of individuals were being collected and stored. This revelation has given
rise to a serious new debate: just how many civil liberties and rights should citizens allow their
government to ignore in the name of security ? Continuing this trend, the government of the United
Kingdom has recently enacted legislation that presents an alarming step forward in the world of
government surveillance. This legislation allows the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While that may not seem like trouble, much less an invasion on the security and privacy of the user,
the recent revelations regarding the tactics of the National Security Agency and the Government
Communications Headquarters demonstrate that individuals are at risk. These revelations detail how
both intelligence agencies use information regarding the pornography choices of potential dissidents
in order to discredit them (Greenwald, Gallagher, Grim). One of the major fears of users under the
filter is that when they call their Internet service provider to be taken off the filter, they will be put on
a list and their names and browsing habits will be recorded. Sadly, there is no shortage of evidence
suggesting that Internet service providers willingly hand over their users information to governments
without much struggle, and in some cases they get rewarded for the service (Timberg, Gellman). This
threat of being put on a list forces some of the United Kingdoms users to refrain from opting out and
as a result lose the freedom to view certain content on the web. If this filter is extended beyond just
pornography (the example of controversial political views comes to mind), users who are on the opt
out list must then worry about what the government might do if they have a list of all those who
subscribe to alternate viewpoints. Some may scoff at the notion of the government targeting

Long Term Store
Atkinson and Shiffrin assumed that the longer an item was held in short term store, the greater the
probability that it would be transferred to long term store and hence stored more durably.
Craik and Lockhart suggested that rather than concentrate on a structure view of memory, it might be
more beneficial to concentrate on the processes that contribute to remembering. They suggest that
what if they recalled, possibly not some item that has been loaded in a store, but rather that the after
effect of processing remain. they made the further assumption that processing began at a relatively
superficial and shallows level and proceeded to deeper level, with shallow processing giving rise to
relatively poorly traces, while deep and richer levels trace that are considerably more durable. THEY
REFERRED TO ALREADY existing evidence to suggest that short term memory was typically
associated with phonological and long term with semantic processing, but suggest that rather than
regard phonological coding as characteristic of short term store, and semantic coding as a
characteristic of long term store, the coding its self should be regarded as primary. ... Show more

This genre has existed since theatre if not sooner in common storytelling as people have always loved to share humour. As time passes comedy has taken on many sub divisions as more fragments of society and other means have been combined into comedy. Its long standing survival is present in film as well, seen as early as 1895 in Tables Turned on the Gardener by Louis Lumière who not only directed the film but was also cinematographer. • 3. Parexel Case Comparison Paper Introduction While social media platforms present avenues for the freedom of expression, the rules or regulations that guide the privilege may sometimes be curtailed or applied wrongly. Employees and organizations are facing the dilemma on what to post or not to post on these platforms. An employee may decide to air something through these public arenas without the knowledge that their actions may surpass their rights and thus infringe on others rights or cause damages to other people (Boyce, 2014). On the other hand, an organization may control the communication of employees on social media platforms to the extent that it violates their rights and privileges. It is in this respect that this paper explores the Facebook and Praxel cases as they are related to these matters. Comparison and Contrast between the Two Situations The Facebook and Parexel cases provide differences in the way that protected concerted activities are applicable under the National Labor Act. A monetary or property Will is a type of Will that people are most familiar with. This deals with ones property being distributed to a younger generation upon or near death.2 The encyclopedia Judaica defines a Will as a, person s disposition of his property in favor of another in such manner that the testator retains the property or his rights to it until his death. 5(page65) Some may be unaware that there are different types of monetary Wills. The first is called a Mattenat Bari, which means, gift by a healthy person. 5 (page 65) The second type is called a Mattenat Shekhiv, a gift by a person critically ill. 5 (pg65) The last type is called an Mezavveh ... The first recorded Ethical Will is in chapter 49 of Genesis in the Bible. This Will was about Jacob speaking to his kids before his death. After blessing each child, he spoke of the missions and destinies of each child. He based what he said on the skills and talents that each child possessed. Everything Jacob said wasn t easy to hear but he said what he wanted his kids to know. It is actually said that Jacob was the first to get sick before dying giving him a chance to say his last words to loved ones. Jacob actually prayed that people would become sick like he did so they could have this opportunity since most people were healthy until the day they died in this time period. Jacob wanted people to have the chance to give their children an Ethical Will.9 In chapters 33 and 34 of Deuteronomy, another Ethical Will is written about Moses. Before Moses died, he offered ... • 5. The Court Enforced Facebook s Terms Of Use And Based On A... Professor Goldman blogged recently about a case involving Facebook where the court enforced Facebook s terms of use and based on a venue clause in Facebook s terms transferred a dispute from New York to California. The court delved into (and seemed to get bogged down in) the distinctions between clickwrap and browsewrap agreements while eventually concluding that the plaintiff was apprised of the terms (or should have been) so there was no reason not to enforce the contract. • 6. The Importance Of Budget Deficit In The United States Every year, the federal government must release a budget outlining their spending plans. The budget shows the government s priorities and uses revenues received from taxes and borrowing. However, the amount spent does not always equal the amount collected, as it would in a balanced budget. For over a decade, the United States has had a series of deficits. With the debt now being about $20 trillion, affirmative action is necessary to avoid a major economic crisis. The budget deficit could be minimized by cutting spending in the defense department and by increasing alcohol and corporate taxes. In the fiscal year 2015, Pentagon and related spending totaled $598 billion, accounting for 54 percent of all federal discretionary spending (Koshgarian 1). Those effects, like anemia, cardiovascular disease, and cancer, later cost American taxpayers billions in healthcare. Therefore, it would be beneficial to raise taxes on alcohol; it would increase the overall price of alcohol, making it less affordable to some and harder for minors to obtain. Alcohol would still be profitable, but there would be higher revenues and the possibility of decreased long term healthcare spending, because of a lower buying ability. • 9. Research Paper On Thermohaline Circulation According to Green facts the Thermohaline Circulation (THC) is the Large scale density driven circulation in the ocean, caused by differences in temperature and salinity. The oceans water has different salt contents and different temperatures in different areas. The colder water which is cooled at the poles is denser so will sink below the warmer water which is less dense. Surrounding water then moves in to fill the gap as the colder water sinks, this water is then also cooled and will itself begin to sink this creates the current. Cooler water is usually found at the poles because as sea ice forms the salt content of the ocean increases, because freshwater is taken away when the ice forms. The THC circulates the globe in a long continuous circle. However if the density or salt content of water is changed then it can potentially shut off the THC, if water becomes less saline then it won t be as dense so may not sink and rise in the same way. One way scientists believe it could be shut off is if glaciers and ice caps melt, this would add a huge amount of freshwater into our oceans causing it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since its introduction in the 1530s, nearly every major British and American poet has made use of the form (Sonnet xxi). In Versification, James McAuley defines that the sonnet is, In the strict sense, a fourteen line poem usually in iambic pentameters. The Italian or petrachan type, consists of an octet, usually rhymed cdecde or in some permutation of these. The English sonnet type consists of three quatrains plus a concluding couplet, rhymed variously, the Shakespearian form being abab cdcd efef gg. In sixteenth and seventeenth century use, the term was also loosely applied to any lyric poem, especially a love poem, as in [John] Donne s (1572 1631) Songs and Sonnets (82). The sonnet, however, is not simply a fourteen line poem having a prescribed rhyme scheme. Certainly most sonnets are fourteen line poems, and most sonneteers do confine themselves to prescribed rhyme patterns (Bender and Squier xxii). The theme, in Sonnet 73, is the poet s aging. Each quatrain develops an image of lateness, of approaching extinction of a season, of a day, and of a fire, but they also apply to a life (Abrams et al. 867). The poet compares his age to three images through the quatrains: autumn, the dying of the year (first quatrain); the dying of the fire (third quatrain). The first line draws a picture of himself, in me, and in a certain time, That time of year, of his life (surely, he is old now). We can see that the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The answer to the question does God exist? is almost an impossible one to give with certainty seeing that there is a variety of people, ideas, cultures and beliefs. So how does one know if one s actions here on earth could have eternal consequences? What is, if any, a safe bet to make? Blaise Pascal was a 15th century philosopher and a mathematician who proposed the idea that although one cannot know for certain that God exists, one can make a safe bet that it is far better to believe in God than not to believe in God. But even so, when thought about it carefully, that person lived an admirable life a life to be proud of. All the earthly pleasures mentioned above will not take a great deal of importance at the end of that person s life. Thus, one can conclude that even though the person in a sense did waste time praying, going to Mass, offering sacrifices, perhaps in the priesthood, living a chaste and celibate life, and fasting, all of these things were not for the detriment of the person but for the benefit of the person. On the other hand Pascal presents another situation in his argument. If a person does not believe in God and lives a completely sinful lifestyle partying, receiving all pleasures, drinking, doing heroin, having a blast and in the end finds out that there is not a God, then that person is free in a sense. That person will not be eternally condemned for all the wrongdoing that person did in life. In Pascal s final scenario, he presents an alternative outcome to the previous situation. If the aforementioned person comes to the end of life to find out that there is a God then that person has lost everything. That person will receive the ultimate punishment: eternal damnation in the absence of God. Hence Pascal s belief that it is in a person s best interest to believe in God because the odds are in the favor of the believer. The HITECH Act set forth the vision for an interconnected healthcare system in the United States. Come up with healthcare utilization examples for each of the network types you described. Three major network types are local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and virtual private networks (VPNs). The LAN covers a smaller geographic area than the WAN. The trade off is the LAN transfers data at higher rates than does the WAN. Control of the network varies between LANs and WANs. LANs are usually controlled by the organization, along with the hardware and software running on the LAN; whereas, WANs are usually controlled by a third party (Cowley, 2012; Wager, 2013). • 21. Affordable Health Care I too believe that healthcare should be a right for all citizens. Health is defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a state of complete physical, mental, and social well being (Macionis, 2015, p. 267). Preventative and acute care is important to maintain health and is needed by everyone in the world. Since the creation of the Affordable Care Act many have argued the negative repercussions of the program often neglecting the positives. The fact is, most working adults (59.5%) are offered insurance for themselves and their families at a discounted rate through their employers (Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, 2013). Despite a 10% decline in employers that offer insurance compared to 2011, the option is still available for half of the working population (Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, 2013). Small business owners that employ fifty or more employees are eligible to provide subsidized health insurance for their employees (HealthCare.gov, 2016). In addition, 30.1% of American s utilize either Medicaid or Medicare, a government program that aids or supplements insurance cost ( Medicare and Medicaid, Age and Income Random Samplings, 2013) . Notions of Egalitarianism are what Australia strives to accomplish within its society, through the implementing and practicing of legislations such as Anti Discrimination Act (1997), Sex Discrimination Act (1954) and Racial Discrimination Act (1975) which were established in order to conclude unfair treatment based on people s looks, beliefs or choices. • 26. The Song Structure And Analysis Of Mystery Song 3 At first listen, Mystery Song Three was unlike anything I had ever heard. I knew it was loud, I knew it was aggressive, and that was about it. We were challenged with analyzing a mystery song by defining its structure, basic description, expression, and historical and cultural context. Even without knowing anything about the song, you can find these elements just by listening to it. 2. Song Structure A song s structure can be best described as its organization. I found that Mystery Song Three is a ABABC modified verse chorus form. This means there was five vocal sections with three different types of sections A the verse, B the chorus, C the conclusion. For clarification I have named each of the five vocal sections as follows: vocal section 1 A1, vocal section 2 B1, vocal section 3 A2, vocal section 4 B2, vocal section 5 C. The song began with an instrumental introduction. At first, there was only the cymbals playing but very quickly the texture thickened when guitar and drums came in. These were both aggressive and fast paced. Section A1 was the first verse section of the song. Since this was the first time that the vocalist came in we learned that the vocalist was male with a rough sound and midrange voice. The instrumentation of this section featured a repeating guitar riff and drum sounds. Overall, this section had an angry sound emphasized with swear words and angry lyrics, had a heavy texture created by the guitar and drums, and had a fast tempo. This section was then followed by an instrumental section to create a transition from A1 to B1. Section B1 was the first chorus. This section also featured a fast tempo, aggressive guitar part, and percussion. However, this section had slower vocals than A1. Additionally, new vocal techniques were used such as blues influenced slides on the lyric No . Also the rhythm changed which emphasized the lyric burnt in to my skin to further relate the anger in the song. After another instrumental break, A2 verse began. The melody of A1 repeats with a very similar instrumental part. However, the lyrics from A1 are different, and a No shout is added differing more from A1. This further communicates and anger and frustration expression in the song. Following an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Ameriquest settlement, he said, reinforced his concern that the industry was exploiting borrowers. In December 2005, Mr. Montgomery drafted a memo and brought it to the White House. While it was Gingrich who orchestrated the attacks on Wright, Barry focuses mainly on the media as being a player in the game. Gingrich understood the influential power of the media. While most politicians dislike the media as most of what is written exists as lies or exaggerations, powerful politicians are able to manipulate the media to further their own needs. Inside the game, the politician with the better tactics, for example the one who knows what to say, when to say it, and with what tone should it be said, will have a more positive relationship with the media and a greater chance to abuse the influence the media has. Outside the game, similarly to athletes, money has power and can be crucial in establishing relationships. Therefore the man who has greater money has a greater potential to create positive ties with the media. Though some people would look at music as a step forward in the progression of humanity, it is known to be a much stronger force; and for some, it really defines their existence. Music is definitely a driving force in society: it has been in existence since the beginning of human race. The average human spends many hours a day listening to music, whether it s taken as a main interest or just as something to satisfy us for the day. Music has and certainly had a great effect on how we think and act, for all one knows, affecting our intelligence. Music served a very functional role in the Revolutionary War. Songs were written and sang for different reasons. Mainly, they were used to help make people thrilled, emotional, make fun of the enemy, forget the terrible realities of war. During the American Civil War, music played a distinguished role on both sides of the conflict: the Union and the Confederate. At the time, on the battlefield, a variety of instruments were being played to issue and lead marching orders and even, at times, to simply boost the Sarkisyan 2 morale of a soldier. There are several phases of the civil litigation process: pleadings, discovery, trial, and if pursued an appeal. The civil litigation process begins in the pleadings, when the plaintiff issues their complaint to the court, explaining how their party was in some manner harmed by actions taken by the defendant. Another copy is delivered to the defendant, and they are usually given a set amount of time to respond, referred to as the answer, which is their side of the conflict. The civil litigation then proceeds to the discovery phase, where both parties are gathering information that is relevant to the case from each other or outside sources. This information is collected through written questions, document requests, and depositions. Discovery is the most lengthy phase of civil litigation, contingent on the specific issues, the bulk of discovery to be administered, and the availability and trial date to be set by the court. When Garrettson had supernatural experiences like this, they served not only as significant moments for him, but also part of the material that he recorded for the good of others. People were no longer concerned solely with the opinions of the learned, and as such were free to value their own religious experiences as they saw fit. In such settings, people naturally turned away from common external influences, particularly in worship. The result was a renewed emphasis on individual experiences, such as those reported by Garrettson. Anne Hutchinson s experience was scrutinized as part of her trial. Garrettson s was accepted as a legitimate spiritual event. This contrast displays the influence of democracy through the increased acceptance of individual religious experiences. The third impact of democracy on American religion is a sense of grand ambition. The hope and optimism that were so central to democracy often resulted in dreams and aspirations of significant social change and progress. What they usually think first is that it is racial profiling and it is bad, we should not do it, but that s only one type of profiling and it is not necessarily bad in all cases. The Merriam Webster dictionary defines it as, the act of or process of learning information about someone based on what you already know. Under the narrow definition, racial profiling occurs when a police officer stops, questions, arrests, and/or searches someone solely on the basis of the person s race or ethnicity. Critics typically use this definition when condemning racial profiling, as do law enforcement agencies when denying the existence of racial profiling (Cleary). Most people think that the profiling is a bad thing because of controversial topics like NYC s stop and frisk policy and from what the liberal news puts out. But in most cases profiling is good for communities and helps to catch criminals before they can do harm. The main difference between what people think and what profiling is comes down to two words disparity and discrimination. Disparity and discrimination are closely related but there is one major difference between them that sets them far apart. Disparity is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the recent year and a half, citizens of almost every nation were exposed to information regarding the mass surveillance used by many governments to spy on their citizens. This information, released by Edward Snowden, confirms the long held theory that mass amounts of data regarding the personal habits and communications of individuals were being collected and stored. This revelation has given rise to a serious new debate: just how many civil liberties and rights should citizens allow their government to ignore in the name of security ? Continuing this trend, the government of the United Kingdom has recently enacted legislation that presents an alarming step forward in the world of government surveillance. This legislation allows the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While that may not seem like trouble, much less an invasion on the security and privacy of the user, the recent revelations regarding the tactics of the National Security Agency and the Government Communications Headquarters demonstrate that individuals are at risk. These revelations detail how both intelligence agencies use information regarding the pornography choices of potential dissidents in order to discredit them (Greenwald, Gallagher, Grim). One of the major fears of users under the filter is that when they call their Internet service provider to be taken off the filter, they will be put on a list and their names and browsing habits will be recorded. Sadly, there is no shortage of evidence suggesting that Internet service providers willingly hand over their users information to governments without much struggle, and in some cases they get rewarded for the service (Timberg, Gellman). This threat of being put on a list forces some of the United Kingdoms users to refrain from opting out and as a result lose the freedom to view certain content on the web. If this filter is extended beyond just pornography (the example of controversial political views comes to mind), users who are on the opt out list must then worry about what the government might do if they have a list of all those who subscribe to alternate viewpoints. Some may scoff at the notion of the government targeting ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Long Term Store Atkinson and Shiffrin assumed that the longer an item was held in short term store, the greater the probability that it would be transferred to long term store and hence stored more durably. Craik and Lockhart suggested that rather than concentrate on a structure view of memory, it might be more beneficial to concentrate on the processes that contribute to remembering. They suggest that what if they recalled, possibly not some item that has been loaded in a store, but rather that the after effect of processing remain. they made the further assumption that processing began at a relatively superficial and shallows level and proceeded to deeper level, with shallow processing giving rise to relatively poorly traces, while deep and richer levels trace that are considerably more durable. THEY REFERRED TO ALREADY existing evidence to suggest that short term memory was typically associated with phonological and long term with semantic processing, but suggest that rather than regard phonological coding as characteristic of short term store, and semantic coding as a characteristic of long term store, the coding its self should be regarded as primary. ...
