Amy Winehouse Sparknotes

seeing each other more often. At that time, Fielder had a girlfriend (Amy Winehouse (Full) The Untold

hard drugs and eventually put Amy onto them as well. Amy was very against drugs before meeting
Blake. She wanted to try coke because she saw Blake and a few of his friends doing it. She was very

Later on, Amy started getting seizures. Her first seizure was in August of 2007 (Amy Winehouse:
behind the controversial documentary). This seizure was brought on by drugs. Along with her
seizures, Amy had a number of other health issues. Winehouse had traces of emphysema in her system
and also had a very irregular heartbeat (Amy Winehouse Biography). Amy Winehouse was also
suffering from depression. This was all caused by her addiction to smoking crack cocaine and
cigarettes as well. At this point, life was starting to look very gloomy for Amy. Along with her health
issues, Winehouse and Fielder were starting to file for divorce. Being that Fielder was Amy s love of
her life, she was devastated. People stopped wanting to work with her because of her addiction. Also,
Amy was starting to be known for her very infamous behavior. Back in 2008, the singer had elbowed
a fan in the forehead after a hat was thrown at her. Luckily, she was not charged; however, the media
went on a frenzy (Amy Winehouse Biography). During the Grammys in 2008, Amy had to perform
via satellite, for she was denied a U.S visa because of her abuse of narcotics. She had to perform many
drug tests (Amy Winehouse: behind the controversial documentary). At some point, Amy did check
into rehab; unfortunately, she checked out after a week (Amy Winehouse (Full) The Untold Story

Deportation Analysis
According to the Pew Research Center (2014), in 2013 the Obama Administration deported a total of
438,421 unauthorized immigrants (Gonzalez Barrera Krogstad, 2014). These deportations were
expounded upon certain races and unauthorized immigrants of specific ethnic background. More and
more Americans want stricter immigration laws and fewer outsiders who are not native born out of the
United states. By ensuing prejudice throughout the nation, deportation is as form of discrimination.
Deportation, like discrimination, excludes people of a specific race, religion, or ethnic background.
Deportation categorizes the immigrant via visa status, with ethnicity, race or religion. Patrick Simon
(2013), International Migration and Minorities Expert, states,
Direct discrimination occurs if a person or a group is treated unfavorably because of their immigrant
background. The second refers to a situation where formally equal treatment has, or is likely to have,
the effect of disadvantaging immigrants, and that cannot be justified on ... Show more content on

Immigrants do not hold the same amount of freedoms that naturalized citizens and natives to America,
since their rights can be taken away, just as David Cole (2010), Professor of Law at Georgetown
University, mentions a groundbreaking case in his publication, Are Foreign Nationals Entitled to the
Same Constitutional Rights as Citizens? (Cole, 2010). Cole (2010) states the perspective foreigners
shouldn t be allowed the same rights were backed in April 2003 after the supreme court case of
Demore V. Kim (Cole, 2010; p 368). It was proved through judicial restraint of a 1996 mandatory
detention of deportable immigrants who have been convicted of crimes (Cole, 2010; p 368). This court
case basically found that immigrants, not being naturalized, can be detained because they will not
have the same rights until granted

Organizational Behavior as a Discipline for Discovery Essay
Organizational Behavior as a Discipline for Discovery
Ask a manager of 35, 25 or even 15 years ago what their Organization s Behavioral patterns were or
how their employees felt about certain issues and you would probably be met with blank stares.
Organizational Behavior (OB) was not a part of the business world in those days. The idea that a
manager need only deal with the technical skills of it s employees while disregarding their own
listening skills, communication skills and interaction skills was the common mode of thought. A
recent study on employee burnout by Northwestern National Life Insurance shows that at least one out
of every four employees views their job as the biggest stressor in ... Show more content on

Robbins notes in his text that the previous 3 generations, while similar in some respects, held distinct
differences in their values (p.130 2). Organizational behavior is a byproduct of the times. The workers
adapted to their organization and grew with it (1940 s and 50 s). As time went on a shift towards
quality of life, non conforming, autonomy and loyalty to one s own values became prevalent (1960 s
and 70 s). Another shift occurred in the mid 70 s. The value system moved towards ambition, loyalty
to career, hardworking, and the desire for success and achievement. This period lasted till about the
mid 80 s when another shift moved us towards the value system commonly held today of flexibility,
value to relationships, desire for leisure time and overall job satisfaction. Robbins classified these four
stages as follows: Protestant work ethic, Existential, Pragmatic, and Generation X (p.131). We can see
that what worked in the 50 s in terms of how an organization operated is probably not going to be as
effective in today s organizations. Whether it s the Protestant work ethic of the 1940 s and 50 s or it s
Generation X of today, the picture should be clear. We need to know what our workers value, how
they feel and change with them so as to keep our organization on the cutting edge of productivity and
profitability.

Racial Identity and Racial Isolation
Racial Identity
Racial identity (passing) alludes to an individual considered a part of one racial assembly additionally
acknowledged as a part of an alternate racial gathering. The term was utilized particularly as a part of
the U.S. to portray an individual of blended race legacy acclimatizing into the white larger part
throughout times when lawful and social meetings of hypo descent arranged the individual as a
minority, subject to racial isolation and segregation (Smedley).
People are made to feel their racial identify on the basis of their cast, ethnicity, race and color. White is
given more preference over the black due to their lighter shade. The author uses the example of the
swimming pool where he was not given permission to swim and was only allowed to swim on
Thursdays with a tight shopping bag around him. These restrictions were laid upon him when he was a
youngster.

Righteousness In The Conflict Between Job And Job
Job was a righteous man who feared God and upheld divine standards. He abounded in gifts of mercy
and acts of godly devotion. Job routinely offered sacrifices to atone for his children s sins. Hence, God
was quite pleased to observe as his servant maintained integrity in his dealing. The Almighty spoke
about Job s godly devotion to Satan the Devil. In fact, Satan claimed that Job was primarily concerned
with selfish interests. God decided to allow Satan to bring trials upon Job to test the patriarch s
motives. In this essay, I will highlight the significance of righteousness in the debates between Job and
his friends.
Job s debate with his friends was precipitated by the former s determination to uphold righteous
standards. Notably, Job experienced tremendous tribulations due to Satan s efforts. His 10 children
died while his livestock was killed. Job s servants also died under mysterious circumstances.
Unfortunately, his wife deserted and mocked him for his faith in God. In fact, she taunted him to curse
God and died. Nevertheless, these events could not break Job s integrity. Satan was determined to
intensify his physical attacks on Job. Job was struck with a debilitating illness that subjected him to
constant pain. Members of the community also shunned him. Later, three friends of Job came to visit
him. However, they did not say anything to Job for three day.
Job s friends claimed that he was suffering due to secret sins. Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar were quite

The Architectural Feat Of The Palace Of Knossos
The Architectural Feat of the Palace of Knossos
The Minoan civilization that flourished on the island of Crete is best known for their recognizable
architecture and art which came about during the Bronze age. The center for administration and
economic growth for the island of Crete was confined within the Minoan Palace of Knossos.
Unfortunately, the extravagant beauty of the palace was only recently discovered when British
Archaeologist, Arthur Evans, starting excavated the site in 1900. Evans was the first to call the ancient
inhabitants of Crete Minoans. The complexity and the grandeur of the palace helps to identify that
Knossos was at one point in history the capital of Crete (Mark, 2010). According to Greek mythology,
architect Daedalus designed the palace of Knossos with great complexity. The objective of Daedalus
plan was to make the palace so complicated finding one s way out would be an impossible task
(Sakoulas). Other versions of the story state that Daedalus designed the labyrinth, a maze like
structure, with a double bladed ax which contained the Minotaur, a half man half bull figure (Mark,
2010). Whatever the basis of the story may be, King Minos wanted to ensure the secret to escaping be
kept confidential. In order to do so, King Minos demanded Daedalus and his son, Icarus, be held as
prisoners in the palace. Being the clever man Daedalus was, he anticipated the kings move. Daedalus
installed two sets of wings for him and his son to escape from the island.

The Pros And Cons Of The Prohibition Era
The Prohibition Era, 1920 1933, was a time of turmoil and conflict as the ban of alcohol brought with
it the growth of organized crime in United States. The nationwide prohibition of alcohol was
introduced to solve social issues and most significantly, lower crime and corruption. Initially
established due to nationwide Temperance movements stating that banning alcohol would decrease
crime, however the banning of alcohol led to increased organized crime. Organized crime in America
grew during Prohibition due to the mafia, gangs and the mob utilizing the public demand for alcohol
for their own economic gain, bootlegging alcohol, using extortion and violence, all in is larger
quantities than was present before the 18th Amendment was passed. A Public demand for alcohol and
lack of enforcement of the 18th Amendment led to such an unsuccessful movement and eventually the
first United States Constitution Amendment to be repealed fully. The results of the 13 year noble
experiment are why the Prohibition Era and the 18tht Amendment were a complete failure. The 18th
Amendment, passed by the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The nature of the mafia and gangs of America was to create business through illegal activities,
bringing in profit, and organized crime always seeks to commercialize and to exploit human nature
(Landesco, 2808). Therefore, gangsters before Prohibition Era utilized other various lucrative markets
prior to the banning of alcohol manufacture. Gambling and Prostitution were among the gangster s
most profitable endeavors before 1920, still remaining profitable during Prohibition Era. Other areas
of criminal activity facilitated by gangsters before and throughout Prohibition included robbery,
hijacking, and contract killing. Although not as profitable, they aided in the maintaining of the

The reasoning is, that in a perfectly competitive market a large number of sellers offer homogeneous
or undifferentiated products (Perloff, p.220), thus the demand for these products or services is
perfectly elastic as the consumer can easily substitute one firm s for another. Consequently, each firm
can sell its product or service at the market price but as soon as a firm raises the price, its customers
would wander off to another supplier. In the supply and demand model an increase in prices can
usually also be achieved by reducing production and therefore supply (Perloff, p.27). In a perfectly
competitive market, however, there are no barriers to entry, which means that new firms could enter
the market to satisfy the excess demand, thereby keeping the market price unchanged (Perloff, p.242).
These conditions make the producer side a price taker , which is the definition of a competitive market
(Perloff, p.220), and certainly benefit the consumers, thus welfare indeed is maximized in a
competitive market. 3.1 The Welfare Concept When a market lacks competition the consumer suffers.
The most extreme scenario of lacking competition is that of a monopoly. In a monopoly there are no
substitutes to the single supplier s products or services, so the consumer cannot choose between
different sellers and simply has to accept the price that is asked. Figure 1 below shows the welfare
effects of a monopoly. In a competitive market a firm s [...] supply curve is its marginal cost

Hemp Argumentative Essay
Hemp is the New Frontier
On October 1, 1937, the Marihuana Tax Act of 1937 was enacted and it prohibited all forms of
cannabis sativa. Although the bill was targeted towards the banning of marijuana and both forms of
cannabis on separate ends of the sativa spectrum, there was no specification on which form was
directed for the ban. Thus both were prohibited from being grown in the United States of America. In
November of 2016, marijuana officially became legal to grow in all fifty states, yet industrial hemp is
still currently legal to be grown in 13 states within the USA. Hemp is largely exported to the US from
other countries. It is imperative that hemp becomes legal to be grown around the entire country, for
hemp will help retain the USA s revenue by using hemp grown in America, has can be used for many
different purposes such as clothing or food for example, has the potential to reduce American citizen s
carbon footprint as a substitute for paper and gasoline, and has no major threat to the industrialization
of hemp in factories.
It is time that the U.S. policy allows American family farmers to get in on a hemp market (Fine 1). ...

Hemp is the perfect substitution for making paper than trees. There are about 220 million pounds of
toxic pollution that are let out into the air and water annually during the process of making paper from
trees. At the same time, deforestation also drives climate change and reduces the filtration of carbon
dioxide to oxygen. Most species of trees can take up to thirty years to be grown to harvest opposed to
hemp that can be grown within the span of months. Also, because hemp is a reusable resource, hemp
paper can be recycled up to 7 times, when paper made from trees can only be recycled a maximum of

Descriptive Experience Of Plant Life
I had imagined the residents to be desperate due to the poverty they face and the small room sized
shacks they live in that resemble a poorly built shed and lack air conditioning, the thought of which
made me shudder as the intense heat of the did not expect much from the Dominican Republic but
from the minute I stepped into the heat and humidity I could tell that there was something different
about it from the thatched roof and marbled floor of the airport, the sparkling turquoise blue sea and
the pearly white sand lining the horizon, it seemed like a fairytale. Walking through the heat I could
smell the floral scent of the plant life that thrived as far as the eye could see this filled me with
nostalgia as I remembered back to my first holiday. I expected the non tourist areas to resemble heart
wrenching poverty and i thought that they would fill me with an overwhelming drowning sensation of
helplessness but it was actually the most beautiful, serene place I had ever seen. Lavish palm trees
lined the roads towering over everyone, vast amounts of brightly coloured plant life was blooming in
every colour of the rainbow as far as the eye could see and the snow white sand lined the turquoise
sea. Groups of people were laughing on pavements composed of dirt, in front of the amazing plant life
whose deep green leaves and luminous petals wsun bit into the top of my head. They all seemed so
happy, despite everything, which warmed my heart. Confusion and amazement ripped through

Big Potholes Short Story
Life is like a dirt road. It is sometimes smooth and easy. But, it is mostly bumpy. In the beginning of

online about me. Saying names, untrue things and posting pictures of just my smile. I don t know why
people only picked on my teeth. I started not eating, not going to school. This meant my grades
declined horribly. After that, I was too scared to show my face to anyone. I never really smiled fully in
pictures... The drama and words ate me alive. Finally, I told my mother, depression was a hard
challenge for me and that I hated to look in the mirror, I cried myself to sleep more than I didn t. The
only thing that made me happy was telling myself everything will be okay in the end. During this time
I surrounded myself with family and friends that made me happy. I m so thankful I had such

Chantal Sutherland once said, Believe in yourself, take on your challenges, dig deep within yourself to
conquer fears. Never let anyone bring you down. You got to keep going. The theme being developed
in 90 Miles to Havana so far is to believe in yourself. The story has shown that by having bad things

he can catch a big fish. The theme is believing in yourself, and he believes that he can catch the fish

The fact that others engage in a particular behavior constitutes a kind of social proof that it is OK or

The Importance Of Youth Sports
Kids love playing sports, and physical activity both provides health benefits and builds character
through being part of a team. However, in many cases, sports can also bring many hardships upon
children and their families. The increasing talent level in professional and collegiate athletics is
causing young athletes to participate in higher levels of sports than are healthy for their developing
bodies. This intensification and specialization of youth sport is causing an abundance of physical and
mental injuries to children and in many cases, the over training causes them to lose love for their
sport. The effects of these injuries may also cause many complications later in life such as CTE and
operations to replace damaged joints and tendons.
The way in which children participate in sports has changed drastically. Playing a variety of sports for
the sake of fun and love of the game, has evolved into extreme training and specialization in a single
sport in attempt to be able to perform adequately at the next level. In the united states alone, the
number of children younger than six on an organized sports team, the number of traveling leagues for
seven and eight year olds, the percentage of specialized high school athletes, and the number of young
olympians, have all risen over the last 15 years (3 ?). It is commonly argued that this change in
philosophy is necessary to propel young athletes to the next level. However, there is also substantial
evidence showing that

Sleep Deprivation In Central Park
On April 20, 1989 Trisha Meili was sexually assaulted, beaten, and left for dead in Central Park. Meili
had been jogging through Central Park around 10:30 p.m. when she was attacked. The attack resulted
in Meili slipping into a coma that caused her to have no memory of the assault. She went on to make a

Chapter 1 Saudi Arabia
In Chapter 1 Article 1 of Saudi Arabia s constitution, it states [t]he Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a
sovereign Arab Islamic State. Its religion is Islam. Its constitution is Almighty God s Book, The Holy
Qur an, and the Sunna (Traditions) of the Prophet (PBUH). Arabic is the language of the Kingdom (
The Royal Embassy ). The relationship between religion and the state can be explained in a variety of
factors that ultimately influence the political, social and religious structure within a country. Saudi
Arabia, for example, is an Islamic theocracy where Islam is the official state religion and requires it
citizens to be Muslim ( Saudi Arabia ). As the birthplace of Islam, the overwhelming majority of
natives in Saudi Arabia are adherents to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the constitution of Saudi Arabia is based on the strict interpretation of Islam called Wahhabism,
religious freedom policies are essentially non existent. In general, the government does not recognize
the principle of separation of religion and state. For example, it is illegal to practice non Muslim
religions in public; however the government has publically stated that it allows non Muslims to
worship in private ( Saudi Arabia , 2004). This right, however, is not guaranteed in practice and is not
a constitutional right ( Saudi Arabia , 2004). A 2017 Pew Research Center report reinforced Saudi
Arabia s single monopoly rule policies by including it as part of 23 out of 198 countries to earn the
distinction of having very high government restrictions on religion ( Global , 2017). Similarly, Saudi
Arabia also received a high rating on the Pew Research Center s Social Hostilities Index, which
measures aggression by private individuals, organizations or groups in society, such as religion related
harassment and terrorism (Fahmy, 2018). Another prominent example of religious restrictions is the
inability for a Muslim to convert to another religion. A Muslim who attempts to convert to another
religion can be charged and sentenced to death if he or she does not recant (Beehner, 2007). Strict
restrictions on religious freedom and expression have allowed Sunni Islam to

Garfield the Great Throughout American, history, we ve had some interesting presidents. All of them
were unique in their own ways. One of the most unique would have to be President James A. Garfield
though. He had his work cut out for him, especially during the election period. Running against the
famous Ulysses S. Grant, he would have to convince voters that he was the better candidate over the
Civil War s most famous general, and he somehow managed to do exactly that. The twentieth
president was 49 years old, which doesn t seem that old for a president. He was very knowledgeable

The Glue That Makes All The Good Grades
Think Back to high school, when you were in class with 30 other students. You do all the work, make
all the good grades and someone else gets all the credit. In my high school days, we called these
people teachers pets . These people made it seem like everything was about them. They wanted to
control everything and most of the students wanted to tell this student off but couldn t because the
teacher would always take their side. Now, in this play we have a mother named Amanda and like the
teacher s pet, Amanda wants to control every aspect of her children s life. May I add, that the children
that she tried to control are well above the legal adult age. The children, like the other students in the
classroom, wanted to tell her off but it wouldn t be of any value because they had no backing. Amanda
is truly the glue that makes this play what it is today. Amanda is the most important character in this
play because she wants to live her life through her kids, everything that went wrong was because of
her, and because of her nagging ways.
Amanda truly wants to live her life though her children life at any cost. Just like any parent Amanda
wants to have her children succeed in life. She truly wants her children to go on and enjoy their life
and I believe that she feels disappointed because she can t give them what they need to survive the rest
of their life s because she isn t financially stable enough for this. Since she can t give them what they

A Brief Note On The Green Building Movement
The Green Building Movement North American homes, offices and other buildings contribute an
estimated 2.2 billion tons of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere every year more than one third of the
continent s greenhouse gas pollution output (Biello). Global warming is a worldwide issue that is
thought to be one of the most severe problems around the globe. Pollution in the atmosphere is one of
the main causes of global warming. This pollution starts to build up and destroy the ozone layer
causing an increase in the overall temperature of the Earth s atmosphere (Lee). There are simple
methods that can be followed to help decrease global warming. Green building is a building process
that is used to make buildings more environmental friendly. This process is used throughout the whole
building life cycle, which includes everything from making the design of the building up to the
demolition of the building. Cooperation of all the people involved in the building process is very
important throughout each stage in the project. This process can lead to a much better and easier way
to help the global warming issue throughout the world. Many people may oppose to green building
because of the higher cost for new equipment and materials that are environmental friendly
(Rajendran). Although there are new technologies that are beginning to help some current
environmental safety issues, these technologies are being developed for the same reasons that people
are encouraging green

Important Information About White Tea And Its Health Benefits
White tea belongs to the group of extremely rare teas and it got its name after its white leaves. White
tea is grown in China, in Fujian province. The best time for harvest is early spring and the leaves are
picked by hand. For the best quality white tea, the leaves are picked before they re fully matured and
shortly before the buds are fully open. White tea leaves are processed differently than other teas; the
leaves are not dried, they are steamed and they are fermented only by 2%.
Throughout history, white tea was reserved only for the upper class, but after tea spread to every part
of the world, it became more common. White tea is first mentioned during the Tang dynasty in China

plant (Camellia sinensis) as black tea and green tea for example, but white tea leaves are not treated
and processed as much which means they contain more nutrients and healthy substances and less
caffeine. All of that makes it one of the best, strongest and most healthy teas in the world.

Socrates Real Person
Was Socrates Really a Real Person?
(A discussion of how Socrates was influential and intriguing using Plato s Republic) To learn about
the past, people in today s society often consult the internet or history books. To an extent, all we
know about the past is from what we have read or heard, so what is actually truth, and what is just a
captivating story. Scholars believe that some people from history are just made up to portray ideals or
tell a story with an important message. Socrates was a real man, but some scholars believe that some
of Socrates beliefs are truly just Plato, his student, writing things and saying that Socrates believed in
them. The world today has virtually no idea whether Socrates believed everything that is recorded in
Plato s Republic. Socrates, as portrayed in Plato s Republic, is extremely intriguing because of the
way he communicates with people with his sarcasm and use of his Socratic method to teach. In Plato s
Republic, Socrates is portrayed as a man who answers everything in a way that avoids actually
answering any questions. Socrates wants the people he is talking with to think for themselves so he
never gives a definitive answer when asked a question. Instead of talking clearly, Socrates talks with
thick sarcasm. Holding a conversation with someone is a sort of game to Socrates, so almost
everything he says is shrouded with sarcasm and double meanings. Why does Socrates play with
people s minds with sarcasm and intrigue? Socrates was

Figurative Language In Harry Hume s The Cough By Harry Hume
The Cough Harry Hume s short story The Cough uses figurative language to show that the father
works as a miner and as a result is getting sick but cannot stop working as his job is the only thing
keeping the family afloat. The diction used in this micro story illustrates how the father s job as a
miner seeps into every part of their life. The personification of the cough sets out to illustrate the
father s illness not as something evil or destructive, but simply as a nuisance. The symbolism of the
Orrery demonstrates how the author views their father s sickness as the core of his world, responsible
for making their lives function. Hume s is able to show an entire family s state and story in a few
paragraphs by using carefully selected words and literary devices to make the reader infer the
information rather than say it explicitly. The personification of the cough shows that it is such a
constant presence in the family s life that it almost acts as a family member. The description of the
cough behaving like a child both makes the reader view the cough as a member of the author s family
and implies that the author does not view the cough as necessarily malignant. However, the cough is a
nuisance much like a little kid is a nuisance because it is always hungry and demand[ed] attention. The
cough being always hungry makes the reader think of a little kid wanting food rather than a lung
disease that forces the father to constantly cough and the cough demand[ing] attention makes the
reader think of a pesky child rather than the constant sounds of the father coughing. These descriptions
fit in with the personification of a child and make the reader see the cough as more of a helpless thing
that needs to be taken care of rather than insidious and evil. The personification of the cough as a child
also acts as if the author sees the cough as a part of the family, both emphasizing its constant presence
and the author s almost benign view of the cough. The imagery used in The Cough illustrates the
father s life as a miner. The father is first described as walking down Ash Alley, which both makes the
reader visualize a gray and dingy alleyway while also drawing from the same imagery of a

Monotheistic Religions Of Judaism, Christianity And Islam
Judaism, Christianity and Islam are known as monotheistic religions because of the shared belief in a
single all powerful personal god. These religions are also grouped together because they re called the
Abrahamic religions as they claimed to be descent from Abraham. Judaism, Christianity and Islam are
now considered to be global religions based on their scope and impact. Some of their core values like
family, their beliefs about helping others, and respect are shared by these three major monotheistic
religions. This essay seeks to analyze the differences and the similarities between the three religions

The Basic Tools Of Sociology And Sociology
Argument:
In this piece, Weber outlines the basic tools of sociology and distinguishes sociology as a social
science. Weber s main message in this piece is that that social sciences should be equivalent to natural
sciences, and in order to do so, laws should be made within the field. Secondly, he wanted to bring
history and sociology together with causal relationships, in doing so he would also analyze the
individual s social action. He mentions that action is only social when it is oriented to the behaviour of
others.
Quotations:
Action in the sense of a subjectively understandable orientation of behaviour exists only as the
behaviour of one or more individual human beings (pg. 284).
This is Weber s ninth mythological foundation. In this quote, Weber argues that studying the
individual, as a complex bio chemical reaction/collection of cells is interesting, but does not lead to
subjective understandings. Rather, action relates to how an actor attaches subjective meaning to
his/her behavior and it is social to the extent that its subjective meaning takes account of the behavior
of others.
Weber then goes on to describe the three important relations for the subjective interpretation of action
1. Thinking on simpler levels will not lead to subjective understandings.
2. Social collectivities must be treated as modes of organization resulting from actions of individuals.
3. Weber leads away from the organic school of sociology. Organic sociology focuses on the

The majority of the reviewed studies used a certified music therapist in the study, either by conducting
or observing the music therapy intervention. In total, a certified music therapist was used in six studies
(Clare, 2014; Sung, 2012; Ridder, 2013; Chu, 2014; Raglio, 2015; Cooke, 2010). Clare (2014)
required a certified music therapist to observe participants during the hired musician?s live
presentation and record wellbeing scores. Cooke (2010) also utilized the certified music therapy in a
similar manner. A musical group of two performed live at every session, and a certified music
therapist introduced the session and was responsible for observing participants during the therapy. The
remaining studies assigned a musical therapist to deliver the selected music therapy approach (Sung,

How Architects Change The World
How Architects Change the World
To provide meaningful architecture is not to parody history, but to articulate it. Daniel Libeskind
Mankind has built structures since the beginning of time and every structure which has been built
throughout history has a story behind it. The reasons for building these structures are many and varied.
The main reason for building a structure is out of necessity. Buildings such as the aqueducts of Rome,
Windsor Castle of Medieval Europe, and the Golden Gate Bridge, were built out of necessity. Another
reason for building a structure is an artistic expression or to express a sentiment, such as the Statue of
Liberty, the Gateway Arch, or the Eiffel Tower. A third reason for building a structure is ... Show more

Without architects, none of us would be living in houses, none of us would have schools to go to, and
none of us would have bridges to cross water. One good example of a structure being built out of
necessity is the golden gate bridge.
The Golden Gate Bridge
The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco is a suspension bridge 4,200 feet long spanning the San
Francisco Bay. It opened in 1937 and was the longest suspension bridge in the world until 1964.
Joseph Strauss was the head engineer for the bridge, but it was ultimately designed by Leon Moisseiff,
who was also the championed designer of the Manhattan Bridge. The bridge cost over 35 million
dollars and from it s opening through January 2014, over two billion vehicles have crossed the bridge.
The color of the Bridge is officially international orange picked by architect Irving Morrow because it
complements the natural scenery, and this orange makes this bridge one of the most recognized bridge
in the world.
In addition to being one of the most recognized bridge in the world, today the Golden Gate Bridge is
one of the most photographed and the most driven over bridge in the world. It s lasting impact is not
only it s usefulness but also the aesthetic appeal it adds to the California landscape as well as an object
of pride for Californians.
The Roman Aqueducts
Another architectural feat that was completed out of necessity was the Roman Aqueducts. Aqueducts

The Importance Of Hate Speech And Hate Groups
The First Amendment has brought up debates over the years, which most recently have centered
around hate speech and hate groups. Congress and state governments can make no law that takes away
the freedom of speech. However, some people feel that hate speech and hate groups violate their civil
liberties. A hate group is an organization whose goals are based on the hatred of a specific group(s) of
people, and the group must have a hate based purpose. Hate speech is speech that threatens, offends,
or insults members of a group(s). All Americans have rights and liberties of their own, and wish they
are not infringed by others. Despite people believing hate groups should not have the right to free
speech if it is hate speech, the US Supreme Court has ruled that hate groups are protected under the
First Amendment. Throughout the history of the United States, many hate groups have emerged.
Today, the oldest hate group, and the most well known, is the Ku Klux Klan. It was formed in 1865,
and it soon turned into a strong, violent organization. Hundreds of other hate groups have been
organized and remain active today. Most hate groups in the United States are anti black, variations of
the KKK, anti Muslim, general hate, white nationalist, or Neo Nazi s . Hate groups have been
involved in many criminal suits, including Brandenburg v. Ohio, National Socialist Party v. Skokie,
Snyder v. Phelps, and, most recently, Matal v. Tam. All four of these cases further the idea that hate
speech is protected under the First Amendment. To begin with, the ruling in Brandenburg v. Ohio
developed an important test to decide what speech can be prohibited, which makes this case
significant. Brandenburg v. Ohio was a case in 1969 over a law in Ohio that criminalized advocating
various illegal activities that put Brandenburg, a KKK leader in prison. The US Supreme Court took
on this case and declared that Ohio s law violated the First, and Fourteenth, Amendments. The
resulting test is known as the Brandenburg incitement test which allows speech to be regulated if it is
directed to and likely to cause imminent violent act . Ohio s law made the advocacy illegal, but it did
not take into part whether or not the speech incited lawless

1.13 Answer: a. Memory and CPU resources, storage, network bandwidth must be managed carefully
in Mainframe or Minicomputer systems b. Memory and CPU resources must be managed carefully in
Workstations connected to servers c. Power consumption, memory resources must be managed
carefully in Handheld (Mobile) computers 1.15 Answer: Symmetric multiprocessing considers all
processors as equivalents and I/O can be prepared on any CPU. Asymmetric multiprocessing has one
expert (master) CPU and the rest of all are slaves. The master circulates assignments among the
slaves, and I/O is normally done by the expert just. Multiprocessors can spare cash by not copying

crunching errors. 1.24 Answer: In single processor frameworks, the memory should be redesigned
when a processor issues upgrades to reserved qualities. These upgrades can be performed instantly or
in a languid way. In a multiprocessor framework, distinctive processors may be reserving the same
memory area in its nearby stores. At the point when redesigns are made, the other reserved areas
should be discredited or overhauled. In disseminated (distributed) frameworks, consistency of stored
memory qualities is not an issue. Then again, consistency issues may emerge when a customer

Analysis Of Hannah Coulter
In his book Hannah Coulter, Wendell Berry explores how the trials and tribulations one experiences
shape them from the beginning of life until death. Janne Teller writes, Everything begins only to end.
The moment you were born you begin to die. That s how it is with everything In detailing Hannah
Coulter s life, Berry shows how the era she grew up in, the people surrounding her, and various life
events formed the qualities and characteristics of the woman she became.
Beery Starts his exploration of how a person is shaped by their life by starting at, of course the
beginning. The main character, Hannah Coulter is born in 1922 in a fictional place called Hargrave,
Kentucky. She is an only child. living on a small family farm with her ... Show more content on

And Grandmam,as I have seen in looking back, was the decider of my fate. She shaped my life,
without of course knowing what my life would be. She taught me many things that I was going to
need to know, without either of us knowing I would need to know them. She made the connections
that made my life, as you will see. If it hadn t been for her what would my life have been? (11) An
example of molding and shaping ones values lies in the theme of education throughout the book.
Education was important to Grandmam because she only went to the 8th grade. So, wanting a better
life for her granddaughter, she ensured Hannah not only graduated high school but was valedictorian
as well. Hannah, in turn, ensured that her children continued farther by graduating college themselves.
Transition from being a child to being an adult. The certain age at which the transition takes place as
does the nature of change. The choice to place Hannah Coulter s story as growing up and coming of
age in the 20s 40s allows the reader to consider for themselves the contrast between that culture and
one of today. After graduation Hannah was gently pushed out of the nest and expected to be self
sufficient, finding a job and a husband. This was accepted and even expected by Hannah, unlike in
today s era in which children often remain with their families well into adulthood. While knowing that
Hannah had the support,

The Learning Theory Influences Everyone s Culture,...
The Learning Theory influences everyone s culture, ethnicity, gender, and social status, by being from
different geographical location and religious background everyone has a unique characteristic, when it
comes to learning or problem solving. One of the most important events in a human s life is the
Learning Theory . This process takes place from the minute we are born. Information is taken in and
absorbed, in turn builds one s ability to retain what one has learned. Many factors aid in the learning
process which includes ones environment, past experiences, and one s emotion which all play a
rewarding understanding on how ones sees the world and retain information around them. B. F.
Skinner, who developed the ideas of respondent behavior (that which is brought about by a specific
stimulus and can be conditioned) and operant behavior (that which produces consequences that tend to
be repeated when reinforced and discontinued when not reinforced). Many different practice models
have developed from the theories of the behaviorists, who operate by setting up controlled situations
in which behavior can be conditioned and reinforced. These models are widely used in teaching, in
treating problems of human relationships, and in working with personal problems that lead to
destructive behaviors. As behavior modification develops, certain features are assuming greater
importance. One is the detailed specification of objectives with the possibility of sub goals that serve

  • 3. Deportation Analysis According to the Pew Research Center (2014), in 2013 the Obama Administration deported a total of 438,421 unauthorized immigrants (Gonzalez Barrera Krogstad, 2014). These deportations were expounded upon certain races and unauthorized immigrants of specific ethnic background. More and more Americans want stricter immigration laws and fewer outsiders who are not native born out of the United states. By ensuing prejudice throughout the nation, deportation is as form of discrimination. Deportation, like discrimination, excludes people of a specific race, religion, or ethnic background. Deportation categorizes the immigrant via visa status, with ethnicity, race or religion. Patrick Simon (2013), International Migration and Minorities Expert, states, Direct discrimination occurs if a person or a group is treated unfavorably because of their immigrant background. Organizational Behavior as a Discipline for Discovery Essay Organizational Behavior as a Discipline for Discovery Ask a manager of 35, 25 or even 15 years ago what their Organization s Behavioral patterns were or how their employees felt about certain issues and you would probably be met with blank stares. Organizational Behavior (OB) was not a part of the business world in those days. The idea that a manager need only deal with the technical skills of it s employees while disregarding their own listening skills, communication skills and interaction skills was the common mode of thought. A recent study on employee burnout by Northwestern National Life Insurance shows that at least one out of every four employees views their job as the biggest stressor in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Robbins notes in his text that the previous 3 generations, while similar in some respects, held distinct differences in their values (p.130 2). Organizational behavior is a byproduct of the times. The workers adapted to their organization and grew with it (1940 s and 50 s). As time went on a shift towards quality of life, non conforming, autonomy and loyalty to one s own values became prevalent (1960 s and 70 s). Another shift occurred in the mid 70 s. The value system moved towards ambition, loyalty to career, hardworking, and the desire for success and achievement. This period lasted till about the mid 80 s when another shift moved us towards the value system commonly held today of flexibility, value to relationships, desire for leisure time and overall job satisfaction. Robbins classified these four stages as follows: Protestant work ethic, Existential, Pragmatic, and Generation X (p.131). We can see that what worked in the 50 s in terms of how an organization operated is probably not going to be as effective in today s organizations. Whether it s the Protestant work ethic of the 1940 s and 50 s or it s Generation X of today, the picture should be clear. We need to know what our workers value, how they feel and change with them so as to keep our organization on the cutting edge of productivity and profitability. • 5. Racial Identity and Racial Isolation Racial Identity Racial identity (passing) alludes to an individual considered a part of one racial assembly additionally acknowledged as a part of an alternate racial gathering. The term was utilized particularly as a part of the U.S. to portray an individual of blended race legacy acclimatizing into the white larger part throughout times when lawful and social meetings of hypo descent arranged the individual as a minority, subject to racial isolation and segregation (Smedley). People are made to feel their racial identify on the basis of their cast, ethnicity, race and color. White is given more preference over the black due to their lighter shade. Job routinely offered sacrifices to atone for his children s sins. Hence, God was quite pleased to observe as his servant maintained integrity in his dealing. The Almighty spoke about Job s godly devotion to Satan the Devil. In fact, Satan claimed that Job was primarily concerned with selfish interests. God decided to allow Satan to bring trials upon Job to test the patriarch s motives. In this essay, I will highlight the significance of righteousness in the debates between Job and his friends. Job s debate with his friends was precipitated by the former s determination to uphold righteous standards. Notably, Job experienced tremendous tribulations due to Satan s efforts. His 10 children died while his livestock was killed. Job s servants also died under mysterious circumstances. Unfortunately, his wife deserted and mocked him for his faith in God. In fact, she taunted him to curse God and died. Nevertheless, these events could not break Job s integrity. Satan was determined to intensify his physical attacks on Job. Job was struck with a debilitating illness that subjected him to constant pain. Members of the community also shunned him. Later, three friends of Job came to visit him. However, they did not say anything to Job for three day. Job s friends claimed that he was suffering due to secret sins. Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar were quite ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Architectural Feat Of The Palace Of Knossos The Architectural Feat of the Palace of Knossos The Minoan civilization that flourished on the island of Crete is best known for their recognizable architecture and art which came about during the Bronze age. The center for administration and economic growth for the island of Crete was confined within the Minoan Palace of Knossos. Unfortunately, the extravagant beauty of the palace was only recently discovered when British Archaeologist, Arthur Evans, starting excavated the site in 1900. Evans was the first to call the ancient inhabitants of Crete Minoans. The complexity and the grandeur of the palace helps to identify that Knossos was at one point in history the capital of Crete (Mark, 2010). According to Greek mythology, architect Daedalus designed the palace of Knossos with great complexity. The objective of Daedalus plan was to make the palace so complicated finding one s way out would be an impossible task (Sakoulas). Other versions of the story state that Daedalus designed the labyrinth, a maze like structure, with a double bladed ax which contained the Minotaur, a half man half bull figure (Mark, 2010). Whatever the basis of the story may be, King Minos wanted to ensure the secret to escaping be kept confidential. In order to do so, King Minos demanded Daedalus and his son, Icarus, be held as prisoners in the palace. Being the clever man Daedalus was, he anticipated the kings move. The Pros And Cons Of The Prohibition Era The Prohibition Era, 1920 1933, was a time of turmoil and conflict as the ban of alcohol brought with it the growth of organized crime in United States. The nationwide prohibition of alcohol was introduced to solve social issues and most significantly, lower crime and corruption. Organized crime in America grew during Prohibition due to the mafia, gangs and the mob utilizing the public demand for alcohol for their own economic gain, bootlegging alcohol, using extortion and violence, all in is larger quantities than was present before the 18th Amendment was passed. The reasoning is, that in a perfectly competitive market a large number of sellers offer homogeneous or undifferentiated products (Perloff, p.220), thus the demand for these products or services is perfectly elastic as the consumer can easily substitute one firm s for another. Consequently, each firm can sell its product or service at the market price but as soon as a firm raises the price, its customers would wander off to another supplier. In the supply and demand model an increase in prices can usually also be achieved by reducing production and therefore supply (Perloff, p.27). In a perfectly competitive market, however, there are no barriers to entry, which means that new firms could enter the market to satisfy the excess demand, thereby keeping the market price unchanged (Perloff, p.242). These conditions make the producer side a price taker , which is the definition of a competitive market (Perloff, p.220), and certainly benefit the consumers, thus welfare indeed is maximized in a competitive market. 3.1 The Welfare Concept When a market lacks competition the consumer suffers. The most extreme scenario of lacking competition is that of a monopoly. In a monopoly there are no substitutes to the single supplier s products or services, so the consumer cannot choose between different sellers and simply has to accept the price that is asked. • 11. Hemp Argumentative Essay Hemp is the New Frontier On October 1, 1937, the Marihuana Tax Act of 1937 was enacted and it prohibited all forms of cannabis sativa. Although the bill was targeted towards the banning of marijuana and both forms of cannabis on separate ends of the sativa spectrum, there was no specification on which form was directed for the ban. Thus both were prohibited from being grown in the United States of America. In November of 2016, marijuana officially became legal to grow in all fifty states, yet industrial hemp is still currently legal to be grown in 13 states within the USA. Hemp is largely exported to the US from other countries. It is imperative that hemp becomes legal to be grown around the entire country, for hemp will help retain the USA s revenue by using hemp grown in America, has can be used for many different purposes such as clothing or food for example, has the potential to reduce American citizen s carbon footprint as a substitute for paper and gasoline, and has no major threat to the industrialization of hemp in factories. • 22. The Importance Of Youth Sports Kids love playing sports, and physical activity both provides health benefits and builds character through being part of a team. However, in many cases, sports can also bring many hardships upon children and their families. The increasing talent level in professional and collegiate athletics is causing young athletes to participate in higher levels of sports than are healthy for their developing bodies. This intensification and specialization of youth sport is causing an abundance of physical and mental injuries to children and in many cases, the over training causes them to lose love for their sport. The effects of these injuries may also cause many complications later in life such as CTE and operations to replace damaged joints and tendons. The way in which children participate in sports has changed drastically. Playing a variety of sports for the sake of fun and love of the game, has evolved into extreme training and specialization in a single sport in attempt to be able to perform adequately at the next level. In the united states alone, the number of children younger than six on an organized sports team, the number of traveling leagues for seven and eight year olds, the percentage of specialized high school athletes, and the number of young olympians, have all risen over the last 15 years (3 ?). It is commonly argued that this change in philosophy is necessary to propel young athletes to the next level. However, there is also substantial evidence showing that ... Its constitution is Almighty God s Book, The Holy Qur an, and the Sunna (Traditions) of the Prophet (PBUH). Arabic is the language of the Kingdom ( The Royal Embassy ). The relationship between religion and the state can be explained in a variety of factors that ultimately influence the political, social and religious structure within a country. As the constitution of Saudi Arabia is based on the strict interpretation of Islam called Wahhabism, religious freedom policies are essentially non existent. In general, the government does not recognize the principle of separation of religion and state. For example, it is illegal to practice non Muslim religions in public; however the government has publically stated that it allows non Muslims to worship in private ( Saudi Arabia , 2004). This right, however, is not guaranteed in practice and is not a constitutional right ( Saudi Arabia , 2004). A 2017 Pew Research Center report reinforced Saudi Arabia s single monopoly rule policies by including it as part of 23 out of 198 countries to earn the distinction of having very high government restrictions on religion ( Global , 2017). Similarly, Saudi Arabia also received a high rating on the Pew Research Center s Social Hostilities Index, which measures aggression by private individuals, organizations or groups in society, such as religion related harassment and terrorism (Fahmy, 2018). Another prominent example of religious restrictions is the inability for a Muslim to convert to another religion. A Muslim who attempts to convert to another religion can be charged and sentenced to death if he or she does not recant (Beehner, 2007). Global warming is a worldwide issue that is thought to be one of the most severe problems around the globe. Pollution in the atmosphere is one of the main causes of global warming. This pollution starts to build up and destroy the ozone layer causing an increase in the overall temperature of the Earth s atmosphere (Lee). There are simple methods that can be followed to help decrease global warming. Green building is a building process that is used to make buildings more environmental friendly. This process is used throughout the whole building life cycle, which includes everything from making the design of the building up to the demolition of the building. Cooperation of all the people involved in the building process is very important throughout each stage in the project. Scholars believe that some people from history are just made up to portray ideals or tell a story with an important message. The world today has virtually no idea whether Socrates believed everything that is recorded in Plato s Republic. Socrates, as portrayed in Plato s Republic, is extremely intriguing because of the way he communicates with people with his sarcasm and use of his Socratic method to teach. In Plato s Republic, Socrates is portrayed as a man who answers everything in a way that avoids actually answering any questions. Socrates wants the people he is talking with to think for themselves so he never gives a definitive answer when asked a question. Instead of talking clearly, Socrates talks with thick sarcasm. • 35. Figurative Language In Harry Hume s The Cough By Harry Hume The Cough Harry Hume s short story The Cough uses figurative language to show that the father works as a miner and as a result is getting sick but cannot stop working as his job is the only thing keeping the family afloat. The diction used in this micro story illustrates how the father s job as a miner seeps into every part of their life. The personification of the cough sets out to illustrate the father s illness not as something evil or destructive, but simply as a nuisance. The symbolism of the Orrery demonstrates how the author views their father s sickness as the core of his world, responsible for making their lives function. Hume s is able to show an entire family s state and story in a few paragraphs by using carefully selected words and literary devices to make the reader infer the information rather than say it explicitly. The personification of the cough shows that it is such a constant presence in the family s life that it almost acts as a family member. The description of the cough behaving like a child both makes the reader view the cough as a member of the author s family and implies that the author does not view the cough as necessarily malignant. However, the cough is a nuisance much like a little kid is a nuisance because it is always hungry and demand[ed] attention. The cough being always hungry makes the reader think of a little kid wanting food rather than a lung disease that forces the father to constantly cough and the cough demand[ing] attention makes the reader think of a pesky child rather than the constant sounds of the father coughing. These descriptions fit in with the personification of a child and make the reader see the cough as more of a helpless thing that needs to be taken care of rather than insidious and evil. The personification of the cough as a child also acts as if the author sees the cough as a part of the family, both emphasizing its constant presence and the author s almost benign view of the cough. The imagery used in The Cough illustrates the father s life as a miner. The father is first described as walking down Ash Alley, which both makes the reader visualize a gray and dingy alleyway while also drawing from the same imagery of a ... • 40. The Basic Tools Of Sociology And Sociology Argument: In this piece, Weber outlines the basic tools of sociology and distinguishes sociology as a social science. Weber s main message in this piece is that that social sciences should be equivalent to natural sciences, and in order to do so, laws should be made within the field. Secondly, he wanted to bring history and sociology together with causal relationships, in doing so he would also analyze the individual s social action. He mentions that action is only social when it is oriented to the behaviour of others. Quotations: Action in the sense of a subjectively understandable orientation of behaviour exists only as the behaviour of one or more individual human beings (pg. 284). This is Weber s ninth mythological foundation. In this quote, Weber argues that studying the individual, as a complex bio chemical reaction/collection of cells is interesting, but does not lead to subjective understandings. Rather, action relates to how an actor attaches subjective meaning to his/her behavior and it is social to the extent that its subjective meaning takes account of the behavior of others. Weber then goes on to describe the three important relations for the subjective interpretation of action 1. Thinking on simpler levels will not lead to subjective understandings. 2. Social collectivities must be treated as modes of organization resulting from actions of individuals. 3. Weber leads away from the organic school of sociology. Organic sociology focuses on the ... The remaining studies assigned a musical therapist to deliver the selected music therapy approach (Sung, 2012; Ridder, 2013, Chu, 2014; Raglio, 2015). • 43. How Architects Change The World How Architects Change the World To provide meaningful architecture is not to parody history, but to articulate it. Daniel Libeskind Mankind has built structures since the beginning of time and every structure which has been built throughout history has a story behind it. The reasons for building these structures are many and varied. The main reason for building a structure is out of necessity. Buildings such as the aqueducts of Rome, Windsor Castle of Medieval Europe, and the Golden Gate Bridge, were built out of necessity. Another reason for building a structure is an artistic expression or to express a sentiment, such as the Statue of Liberty, the Gateway Arch, or the Eiffel Tower. A third reason for building a structure is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Without architects, none of us would be living in houses, none of us would have schools to go to, and none of us would have bridges to cross water. One good example of a structure being built out of necessity is the golden gate bridge. The Golden Gate Bridge The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco is a suspension bridge 4,200 feet long spanning the San Francisco Bay. It opened in 1937 and was the longest suspension bridge in the world until 1964. Joseph Strauss was the head engineer for the bridge, but it was ultimately designed by Leon Moisseiff, who was also the championed designer of the Manhattan Bridge. The bridge cost over 35 million dollars and from it s opening through January 2014, over two billion vehicles have crossed the bridge. The color of the Bridge is officially international orange picked by architect Irving Morrow because it complements the natural scenery, and this orange makes this bridge one of the most recognized bridge in the world. In addition to being one of the most recognized bridge in the world, today the Golden Gate Bridge is one of the most photographed and the most driven over bridge in the world. It s lasting impact is not only it s usefulness but also the aesthetic appeal it adds to the California landscape as well as an object of pride for Californians. The Roman Aqueducts Another architectural feat that was completed out of necessity was the Roman Aqueducts. Aqueducts are a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. The Importance Of Hate Speech And Hate Groups The First Amendment has brought up debates over the years, which most recently have centered around hate speech and hate groups. Congress and state governments can make no law that takes away the freedom of speech. However, some people feel that hate speech and hate groups violate their civil liberties. A hate group is an organization whose goals are based on the hatred of a specific group(s) of people, and the group must have a hate based purpose. Hate speech is speech that threatens, offends, or insults members of a group(s). All Americans have rights and liberties of their own, and wish they are not infringed by others. Despite people believing hate groups should not have the right to free speech if it is hate speech, the US Supreme Court has ruled that hate groups are protected under the First Amendment. Throughout the history of the United States, many hate groups have emerged. Today, the oldest hate group, and the most well known, is the Ku Klux Klan. It was formed in 1865, and it soon turned into a strong, violent organization. Hundreds of other hate groups have been organized and remain active today. Most hate groups in the United States are anti black, variations of the KKK, anti Muslim, general hate, white nationalist, or Neo Nazi s . Hate groups have been involved in many criminal suits, including Brandenburg v. Ohio, National Socialist Party v. Skokie, Snyder v. Phelps, and, most recently, Matal v. Tam. All four of these cases further the idea that hate speech is protected under the First Amendment. To begin with, the ruling in Brandenburg v. Ohio developed an important test to decide what speech can be prohibited, which makes this case significant. Brandenburg v. Ohio was a case in 1969 over a law in Ohio that criminalized advocating various illegal activities that put Brandenburg, a KKK leader in prison. The US Supreme Court took on this case and declared that Ohio s law violated the First, and Fourteenth, Amendments. The resulting test is known as the Brandenburg incitement test which allows speech to be regulated if it is directed to and likely to cause imminent violent act . Ohio s law made the advocacy illegal, but it did not take into part whether or not the speech incited lawless ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Memory and CPU resources must be managed carefully in Workstations connected to servers c. Power consumption, memory resources must be managed carefully in Handheld (Mobile) computers 1.15 Answer: Symmetric multiprocessing considers all processors as equivalents and I/O can be prepared on any CPU. Asymmetric multiprocessing has one expert (master) CPU and the rest of all are slaves. The master circulates assignments among the slaves, and I/O is normally done by the expert just. These upgrades can be performed instantly or in a languid way. In a multiprocessor framework, distinctive processors may be reserving the same memory area in its nearby stores. At the point when redesigns are made, the other reserved areas should be discredited or overhauled. In disseminated (distributed) frameworks, consistency of stored memory qualities is not an issue. • 46. Analysis Of Hannah Coulter In his book Hannah Coulter, Wendell Berry explores how the trials and tribulations one experiences shape them from the beginning of life until death. Janne Teller writes, Everything begins only to end. The moment you were born you begin to die. That s how it is with everything In detailing Hannah Coulter s life, Berry shows how the era she grew up in, the people surrounding her, and various life events formed the qualities and characteristics of the woman she became. She taught me many things that I was going to need to know, without either of us knowing I would need to know them. She made the connections that made my life, as you will see. If it hadn t been for her what would my life have been? (11) An example of molding and shaping ones values lies in the theme of education throughout the book. Education was important to Grandmam because she only went to the 8th grade. So, wanting a better life for her granddaughter, she ensured Hannah not only graduated high school but was valedictorian as well. Hannah, in turn, ensured that her children continued farther by graduating college themselves. Transition from being a child to being an adult. The certain age at which the transition takes place as does the nature of change. The choice to place Hannah Coulter s story as growing up and coming of age in the 20s 40s allows the reader to consider for themselves the contrast between that culture and one of today. After graduation Hannah was gently pushed out of the nest and expected to be self sufficient, finding a job and a husband. This was accepted and even expected by Hannah, unlike in today s era in which children often remain with their families well into adulthood. While knowing that Hannah had the support, ... One of the most important events in a human s life is the Learning Theory . This process takes place from the minute we are born. Information is taken in and absorbed, in turn builds one s ability to retain what one has learned. Many factors aid in the learning process which includes ones environment, past experiences, and one s emotion which all play a rewarding understanding on how ones sees the world and retain information around them. B. F. Skinner, who developed the ideas of respondent behavior (that which is brought about by a specific stimulus and can be conditioned) and operant behavior (that which produces consequences that tend to be repeated when reinforced and discontinued when not reinforced). Many different practice models have developed from the theories of the behaviorists, who operate by setting up controlled situations in which behavior can be conditioned and reinforced. These models are widely used in teaching, in treating problems of human relationships, and in working with personal problems that lead to destructive behaviors. As behavior modification develops, certain features are assuming greater importance. One is the detailed specification of objectives with the possibility of sub goals that serve as ...
