The Influence Of Life In Colonial America
Daily life during the colonial American days was were rough and began the marking period for
America. The colonial period set the stage for what we have today in American history such as
what we grow and where we grow them. Anything from the clothing made to the foods we grow
has been discovered during the colonial period. The start of the colonial period stood for rough
livelihood by 1774 the ability to sustain life had been reached and reflects some parts of the
modern world today. As for the Virginia Colony of 1775 there were millions of people living in
the colonies and there were about 500,000 living in Virginia. Based off of those numbers we can
see that Virginia was a popular place to be, Virginia was not full of wealthy people such as
planters and merchants but there were a small significant amount that stood at two percent lived
in cities such as Richmond, Williamsburg, and Fredericksburg. There were about 200,000 people
living in Virginia where enslaved African Americans, they worked in tobacco fields. Life for the
slaves was considered cruel and working from sun up to sun down for their white masters. Slaves
were brought in from Africa to work the crops, they were often sold and traded yet very
expensive. Slaves were needed but made to feel inferior because their purpose at the time was

Introduction:
Nowadays in modern developed market change in prices and other factors are very expected. The
change in one of the factors for instance price and effect of it on another factor like demand or
supply are measured by elasticity. Elasticity is the measure of how the change in one of the factor
will be affected on the other factors. Elasticity measures extent to which demand will change.

The prices of commodity goods are going up and down. The reason of price fluctuation is changes
in supply or demand. Equilibrium in price find when supply and demand will intersect each other.
The change in one of them will cause price fluctuate. For instance the problem with supply may
cause poor harvest or loss in production. Change in demand can be caused by change in
technology, income or substitutes (Parkin 2010). Mostly in agricultural or commodity markets
there is large price fluctuation in price in very short time. This can give negative impact on
producers, for instance they may have over or under production in short term; or calculate over or
under investment in long terms. Also prices can be too high for essential goods, like bread or rice,
problem with this goods can cause a disorder in country caused by young adults which not satisfied
with high prices, similar situation was in Egypt in 2011. On the other hand prices can be too low,
for instance cigarettes, its generally known that smoking harms health, governments to protect

The Physics Of Scuba Diving Essay example
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to swim with the fish and explore the underwater
jungle that covers two thirds of the earth s surface? I have always been interested in water
activities; swimming, diving and skiing, and I felt that scuba was for me. My first dive took place
while on a family vacation. I came across a dive shop offering introductory dives, which
immediately caught my interest. After much convincing (my parents), with my solemn assurance
that I would be careful, I was allowed to participate in a dive.
I was ready, or so I thought. The slim basics such as breathing were explained and I was literally
tossed in. Sounds easy enough, right!, well WRONG!!. From the moment I hit the water, my

Scuba diving is the most frequently used mode in recreational diving and, in various forms, is also
widely used to perform underwater work for military, scientific, and commercial purposes.
There were many steps in the development of a successful self contained underwater system. In
1808, Freiderich yon Drieberg invented a bellows in a box device that was worn on the diver s back
and delivered compressed air from the surface. This device, named Triton, did not actually work
but served to suggest that compressed air could be used in diving, an idea initially conceived of by
Halley in 1716. (Ketels, 9)
In 1865, two French inventors, Rouquayrol and Denayrouse, developed a suit that they described
as self contained. In fact, their suit was not self contained but consisted of a helmet using surface
supported system that had an air reservoir that was carried on the diver s back and was sufficient
to provide one breathing cycle on demand. The demand valve regulator was used with surface
supply largely because tanks of adequate strength were not yet available to handle air at high
pressure. This system s demand valve, which was automatically controlled, represented a major

In addition, consistent with the low density of spermatogonia, spermatids and seminiferous tubules
observed in testicles, the mRNA expressions of LH ОІ and FSH ОІ in the pituitary gland were both
significantly decreased after immunocastration in the treated rams. The result is in agreement with
the findings of [Wei et al., 2011] in rabbit and [Fang et al., 2010] in boar that GNRHR mRNA
expression in the pituitary was significantly decreased in immunocastrated animals. Furthermore,
[Sakurai et al., 1992] reported that there was a reduction of GNRHR mRNA in the pituitary and
protein concentration after passive immunocastration of male sheep. Another group showed that the

In general, oral immunization with active kisspeptin DNA vaccine plays a significant role in
suppressing GNRH secretion in the hypothalamus, GNRHR in the pituitary, and negative
regulation of the secretion of steroid hormones. Leydig cells have essential roles in the
maintenance of steroidogenesis and spermatogenesis in the testes. The failures of both processes
are attributed to Leydig cell dysfunction. In the current research, expression of testicular LH
receptor and FSH receptor mRNAs was significantly lower in the treated ram lambs (P 0.05),
implying that testicular responsiveness to LH stimulation was impaired. Indeed, active
immunization against GNRH in boars significantly reduced testicular LH receptor and testosterone
concentrations following treatment with exogenous LH [Wei et al. 2011; Wei et al., 2012].
Moreover, expression of testicular LHR mRNA was significantly decreased, which further
confirmed that the functions of Leydig within testes were severely impaired. In addition, it is well
known that FSH plays a role in spermatogenesis. However, the expression levels of FSHR mRNA in
the testes of treated rams and control rams were not siginificantly different, demonstrating oral
kisspeptin DNA immunization has no influence on

Disadvantages Of Mongols
Throughout history the Mongols have continuously demonstrated a remarkable ability of
pioneering strategic and effective methods of successfully conquering more structurally organized
civilizations than themselves. Their life as pastoral nomads produced numerous harsh obstacles to
overcome when faced with larger and more complex groups of people. However, their lack of
manpower was combated by their tenacious and fierce warrior like mindset which propelled them
into unprecedented prosperity. As a matter of fact, their most notable achievement was their striking
capability to bring all of Eurasia under one central central something that at the time, was
inconceivable. Through this, the Mongols established the practice of allowing their subjects... Show

Khubilai also suppressed Daoism because it engaged in religious warfare between Buddhism. He
issued punitive action against the Daoists who had set a fire to a Buddhist temple (Cho 6). These
accounts highlight that there was an active and constant struggle between Buddhism and other
religious sects that disrupted the Mongol Empire internally. With the inclusion of numerous
religions came a constant wave of struggles between the religious sects vying for power. However,
since Khubilai was an advocate for Buddhism, any and every act targeting that religion resulted in
fierce punishment. Yet, if the Khan favored the perpetrating faith and perceived little threat to his
authority, there would most likely have been little political action taken against it. Unfortunately for

The Importance Of Humility In Beowulf
Humility is an important lesson all successful people must eventually learn. The epic poem
Beowulf written sometime around 1000 A.D. follows the adventure of a great warrior on his quest
to greatness. Throughout the poem he is taught that humility is the key to success. Beowulf comes
to the land of the Danes to defeat the monster Grendel. Beowulfaccomplishes his task and conquers
both Grendel and the monster s mother. After claiming victory, Beowulf earns glory, honor, and
respect. The great warrior then returns home to become the king later in his life. Beowulf learns
throughout the story that arrogance has consequences and being humble will grant respect from
others. Beowulf changes throughout the story ultimately becoming a humble warrior. Beowulf
learns humility when fighting Grendel, when fighting Grendel s mother, from hearing legends and
from his past.
Beowulf is humbled after fighting Grendel. Before fighting Grendel Beowulf was over
confident and cocky. He believed that he was the greatest and did not realize the extent of the
challenge of fighting Grendel. Although Beowulf won the battle he did not kill him in the
mead hall as he had intended. Before Beowulf fought Grendel he thought that he could alone...
purge all evil from [the] hall... /[and is so great that he needed] no weapons and [feared] none.
(431 434). During the fight no matter how hard... [Beowulf] held him he still pulled free (928).
Grendel escaped,/ But wounded as he was he could flee to his den (819 820). Beowulf did not
have the skill set to kill Grendel as he first predicted, he seriously injured him but did not kill him
in the mead hall. Beowulf learned that not everything is as easy as it may seem. The result of the
fight humbled Beowulf. Fighting Grendel gave Beowulf perspective and taught him not to act
egotistical, and to never underestimate your opponent. The lesson Beowulf learns is reflected in his
actions throughout the rest of the story. When praised for his accomplishments, Beowulf did not
boast or act superior, he accepted his loses and celebrated his wins among the rest of the Danes.
When Grendel s mother arrives to torment the Danes, seeking vengeance for her son s death,

Kurdistan Workers Party Research Paper
The Kurdistan Workers Party
I decided to do my paper on the terrorist organization named Kurdistan Workers party from what I
have read about them they are a very interesting group, but violent. The main reason for their
attacks is to form a Kurdistan state within Turkey. Some people apart of this organization feel
that Turkey has oppressed their culture. They want to fight Turkish officials to prove their
point. The group was started by Abdullah Ocalan, a man who believes in Marxist lenist ideas.
Abdullah now resides in a Turkish prison but still has control over what the PKK (Kurdish
workers party) does. First, Some history of Abdullah Ocalan. He was born in Kurdish village in
the country of Turkey. The city where he was born was Omerli, Turkey, On the date of April 4,
1948. He is also known as Apo which means Uncle. He was basically the guy who started it all. I
am sure there were many before him with different beliefs, but he was the guy who created the
group to make a change for some Kurdish people. I do say some because not all Kurdish people
may agree with Apo, because of the violence the group portrays. Ocalan s surname means
avenger . The group can be said to be a terrorist organization by most countries, and defiantly an
enemy to Turkey. Ocalan was born to a peasant family in a village in southeastern Turkey. He had
vague political aspirations as a youngster. (Abdullah Ocalan) This leads me to believe that being in
poor family led him to want to change

Glass Ceiling Thesis
Abstract
The glass ceiling is an expression used to describe the unseen barrier preventing women and other
minorities from reaching the top executive levels. This problem solution research paper represents
the allegations argued by the critics of the glass ceiling accentuating on the reasons why women
are not able to reach top positions, such as lack of time and family responsibilities. However, it
also represents ways to shatter the glass ceiling such as offering formal educations for women,
helping women with dual roles, and applying proactive recruitment. It is based on several studies
and experiments aim to prove that women do have powerful skills that authorize her to reach top
levels and should not be discriminated against men.

from home, most of the time. Then why should women be forbidden from going out to work then?
Nonetheless, with help and support of the other partner, women can manage between the family
responsibilities and the business life. Furthermore, this world has developed and technology has
pervaded it. Then, women have the ability to handle all the managerial work. from behind a screen

should be treated equally. as men is the idea that gender should not be taken as a discrimination
tool. Gender the state of being a male or a female does not reflect the actual capabilities between
women and men. The main reason why females act differently than men is that they are raised in a
way to behave in a certain manner especially in the discriminating countries. That does not show
that women are less than men mentally or biologically. In fact, some women do have higher
intelligence quotient higher than men. (Cowling Taylor, as cited in Jacques,

The Story Of An Hour And The Awakening Feminist Analysis
At the end of 19th century, American society presented an ideology of patriarchy. Feminists
struggle for the equality and discrimination against female. As feminist movement started, lots of
female writers were explored. One of the most famous writers is Kate Chopin. Her works mostly
present a theme of women pursue freedom and equality. The Story Of An Hourand The Awakening
are her representative works. In these two works, Kate Chopinreveals how women lived under the
oppression of male dominated society, especially for women who got married. They were not
financially independent and their freedom and rights were deprived. Therefore female were forced
to be an angle in the home . Both challenge the preconception that women can only be a
housekeeper and marriageis the only way out.
The Story of an Hour was narrated by the third person. The main character Mrs. Mallard is a
housewife and she has a heart trouble. Her Husband dies in a railroad disaster. When she heard
the news, she did not hear the story as many women have heard the same, with a paralyzed
inability to accept its significance. She wept at once, with sudden, wild abandonment, in her
sister s arms (Pg 93). She did not cry out immediately, she seems shocked for a while and suddenly
break out. From my opinion, she isn t shocked, she is surprised. She is not just cry for the death of
Mr. Mallard, but also for the free life that she s going to live. She has been trapped and pressed for
so long. Husband s

Ethnic Nationalism Source Of Community Of Fear Essay
Ethnic Nationalism Source of Community of Fear
Nationalism, according to the most widely accepted definitions of, is the doctrine that the state and
the nation should be congruent. However, there is much more to add to the definition of
nationalism today in connection to the ethnic and civil society. The definition of nationalism
depends on its context. The typology of nationalism defines its strength and/or weakness of the
relationship among the community in which it s defined. While civil nationalism accepts people
for who they are in the unique condition that they accept the country s constitution, ethnic
nationalism goes beyond and requires that the community should share a common culture which
can be raced, ethnic group, language or religion. There are many explanations in resonating for why
ethnic nationalism is an exclusive National project (according to Igatieff). Despite the urgency of
this issue, Scholars have until recently not addressed the question of accommodation of
communities regarding ethnic nationalism. This argument will contribute to this discussion, by
looking at the link between conflicts and ethnic nationalism. The points presented in this
argumentation will highlight the weaknesses of ethnic nationalism in modern states. The argument
will articulate these weaknesses by first looking at the genealogical roots and the modernist origin
of ethnic nationalism. Then it will sketch the relationship between mass media, narcissism,
intolerance and the

But, access to this kind of information requires a serious amount of sensitivity and the person

The Pros And Cons Of Breach Of Warranty
Everyday billions of consumers purchase products across the entire world. As natural consumers,
this is a way to buy things that are seen as beneficial for whatever the reason may be. This could
include benefitting one s health or well being or simply meeting personals wants and needs. In the
United States, buying and selling products is so common that many underlying factors of what
goes into the process go unnoticed, up until something goes wrong. As a consumer, you naturally
expect that what you are buying is 100% safe, secure, and authentic because most of the time this
is the case. However, for the times when something does go wrong, it is important to know the
legalities of product liability as both a producer and a consumer. Product liability is the legal

The term also covers a failure of a statement or agreement by a seller of property which is a part of
the contract of sale, when the truth of the statement is necessary to the validity of the contract
(USLegal, 2007). Breach of warranty claims come in two forms an express warranty or implied
warranty. An express warranty is one that is explicitly stated from the manufacturer or seller to the
consumer. Most express warranties are made in written statements, warning stickers, informational
tags, etc. Although, an advertisement or a product sample that demonstrates how the product is
properly used may also be used to make an express warranty claim (Rottenstein Law Group, 2010).
Contrary to this, an implied warranty is not explicitly stated. Instead, an implied warranty is based
on the reasonable expectations of the buyer. For example, when a shopper buys a lamp, they expect
it to light up the room without the lightbulb getting so hot that it starts a fire. This would be a
reasonable expectation of the

`` The Birthmark `` And `` Rappaccini s Daughter ``
Hawthorne s books are inspired and fascinate to read. They are full of science fiction and tail of
fantasies. The female characters have to face many challenges in their lives due to their natures.
The human morals and man ambition are clear in The Birthmark and Rappaccini s Daughter on
which the two stories are similar in away. The two stories appear to be similar because
innocence characters have to suffer. The hiding meanings are deep within each character and in
each story. The two stories maybe different; however, the moral behind the two stories are closely
related. The female characters are pure at hearts and innocence just like nature. However, the male
characters are like the devil that creeping upon what is natural and pure and destroy it. It is very
clear to see that Hawthorne s stories embrace the female characters and their beauties. On other
hand, he reviews the males evil ambitions; they are only seeking for their own glories by using
sciencein created and change nature. Indeed, without any doubt, each of the stories, the male
characters caused their loveones to parish due to their evil ambitions. In both of the stories by

There are two processes that are involved in the bulk transport of large molecules. After these
large particles are packaged in vesicles, if the molecules are to be secreted from the cell, the
transport vesicles fuse with the plasma membrane in a process called exocytosis. James Rothman
discovered that this process is done very precisely as specific protein complexes on the transport
vesicles and specific proteins on the plasma membrane bind together to cause this fusion (1).
When the cell takes in particles from the outside, the cell sinks inward to form a vesicle of materials
from the outside in the same principle that James Rothman identified.
The plasma membrane plays a key role in cell signaling pathways. Local signaling is when local

Personal Narrative Reflection
My third visit to Mrs. Casanova s class has thus far been my most productive, in terms of
applying something I have learned both from this class and UCF in general. With the end of the
middle of the second nine weeks rapidly approaching so too are classroom summative
assignments. During my visit on the twentieth I was able to both see the test creation process in a
PLC and participate in the creation of some questions. Two of the three teacher I have been able to
spend time with in the classroom, the first being in internship and the second, Mrs. Casanova with
service learning. Both teachers employ direct instruction as their primary means of conveying
information, with Mrs. Casanova using it more than the honors and AP teachers. However, within
the PLC the test questions were being created for all classes, rather than having separate questions
for AP, honors, and regular classes, with the only difference being the written response questions
being more challenging in upper classes. Due to this, content evidence was very important,
especially for the upper classes, as they technically would be getting the same test as a regular.
Beyond this however, the instruction leading up to the test also had to be evaluated as the questions
were made with AP in mind. According to the book, content evidence connects to state standards

Maslow s Motivation And Personality
According to Robert Frager, editor of the third edition of Maslow s Motivation and
Personality, the theorist Abraham Maslow was born in 1908 in Brooklyn, New York. He was the
first of seven children born to Russian
Jewish immigrants. While Maslow s father was uneducated, he pushed his son academically and
encouraged him to become a lawyer. Maslow began his extensive education at City College of
New York but later told his father that he did not want to study law. In 1928, after marrying his
wife Berta, he transferred to the University of
Wisconsin to st udy psychology under the guidance of Harry Harlow. Two years later he obtained
his Bachelor s degree and having always been an astute student with a deep passion for learning,
Maslow continued at the University to receive his Master s degree in 1931, and t hen his
Doctorate in 1934. Maslow described himself (Frager 1970, p. xxxvi) as, ...the little Jewish boy in
the non
Jewish neighborhood...I was isolated and unhappy. I grew up in libraries and among books,
without friends. At the beginning of his college career, Maslow studied behavior psychology, also
called behaviorism. This is a type of psychology based upon the idea that all behaviors are acquired
through conditioning. Maslow later became interested in a more humanistic view in psychology wh

Misinterpretations Of Love In Twelfth Night By William...
Twelfth Night Behind the Mask
Love can not hide behind a mask forever in the end truth will prevail. In the play Twelfth Night
written by William Shakespeare there are many circumstances where there are misinterpretations of
love in various romantic relationships. There are many instances where characters where used
disguises were used to create plot development. In Shakespeare play trickery was used to create
plot development. Mistaken identity was used to create a complicated love triangle. Shakespeare
makes use of different binding elements to cause conflict between his characters to gain conflict
from the audience.

Shakespeare uses the act of disguise to create plot development in Twelfth Night.
In Twelfth Night, mistaken identity was used several times to create plot development. Olivia
calls a priest to marry Sebastian (He is Viola brother who was thought to be dead in a ship
wrecked and returns later to meet Olivia), but she thinks is Cesario and this is important to the
plot because that is when the truth starts coming out. Olivia says, O welcome father! / Father, I
charge thee by thy reverence / Here to unfold though lately we intended / To keep in darkness
what occasion now / Reveals before tis ripe what thou dost know / Hath newly pass d between
this youth and me (Shakespeare 5.1.146 150). Here, Olivia asks the priest to affirm her marriage
person she believes she married. She has married Sebastian but however supposes she marry
Cesario . This is important to the plot because this when Olivia gets married to Sebastian and
Olivia thinks she has found her true love Cesario and creates room for the mystery in the play to
be answered. In addition to that, Viola says that she can not love Olivia because of she is not she
think he is. Viola says, By innocence I swear, and by my youth, / I have one heart, one bosom,
and one truth, / And that no woman has; nor never none / Shall mistress be of it, save I alone
(Shakespeare 3.1.153 156). Cesario(Viola) statement to Olivia

Reality And Moral Truth In Herman Melville s Benito Cereno
The fictionality in Herman Melville s Benito Cereno draws the reader s attention to the difference
between fictional and moral truth, or the truth as it happened versus the truth as it is interpreted.
Fictionality is when the line between fact and fiction is purposely blurred by the author in order to
illuminate a truthfor the reader; it is when the author alters reality to create a more fitting stage for
the story. The truth that is revealed through the fictionality tends to be a moraltruth, such as a life
lesson or universal certitude. Throughout this short story, the submerged message of abolitionist
thought is hidden beneath layers of lies, speculations, and altered facts. The story is based on true
events, and it is this idea of a hidden truth underneath the constructed reality that echoes throughout
the work. By changing the year the events take place, the author subtly alters the context of the
story, but the underlying truth remains constant. It is with these clues and fictionality that Melville
explains the difference between factual truth and the deeper truth that transcends moments, events,
or even people. This inner truth is told underneath the story itself, which emphasizes the perception
of the participants. The difference between perception and truth is that one changes with the facts,
and the other does not. There is a truth in something like a novel, a moral truth, that exceeds a
purely realistic story from life. The fictionality that Melville uses to

Social Problems Final
In the situation of a single parent woman it would be difficult if not impossible for this parent to
financially provide for herself and child on a minimum wages. The major components of their
survival would be to meet the essential needs of providing shelter, food, clothing, and health
insurance. If the parent is working a day job there would be the need for an afterschool program or
the child staying with family. If the parent had a 2nd or 3rd shift she would also need to set up
alternative care for the child. This parent would need a strong network of family and friends to

It s more difficult for a single mother to give financially for children as she will make less
income than the male counterpart. It s important for single parent woman to get all the
education she can to improve her career, and be able to give a better life for the child. It will set
an example to the child that they are willing to work hard for a better life. Education is the
single most important element for the child to work hard in school to acquire a life style they
deserve. As a single parent this person continually sacrifices their own needs to meet the needs of
the child. In most cases the child will not see the big picture, and this is not their job to worry
about their next meal or where they will live.
This family would have to live modestly, with no extra pleasures like a vacation or getting the
child certain items that the other kids in school may have received (ex. Video Game Systems, a

its business using licensed driver through the City s Taxis and Limousine Commission. It had to
hire the drivers that fulfilled the host requirements such as; passing the drug test, attending driving

Analysis Of Oddi Banding
Oddi Banding Weight Loss Procedure Morbidly obese patients have recently been introduced to
a rapid weight loss procedure called Oddi Banding. The procedure is comparable to gastric
banding in that it works by attaching a small plastic band around the sphincter of Oddi (SO),
compressing the outer wall. The SO has many different important purposes that are adversely
affected by this procedure. Some of these side effects include: anemia, elevated white blood cell
count, abnormal discomfort after eating, scaring of the Sphincter of Oddi, damage to surrounding
organs and even death. All of these elements will be explained below in further detail.

If this new tissue is not flexible and is unable to preform the task required of the SO it will be
detrimental to the surrounding organs such as the pancreas and more importantly the individual s
health. The pancreas is responsible for releasing enzymes to aid in the digestion and absorption of
food in the small intestine; it also creates hormones that regulate blood sugar levels. (Kathryn L.
McCance, 2014)(NCBI, 2013) These enzymes travel through the pancreatic duct and out the
Sphincter of Oddi into the Duodenum. If scar tissue is present at the SO it will be incapable of
relaxing and allowing for pancreatic enzymes to pass through into the duodenum resulting in a
backup of secretions. The overflow of secretions in the pancreas causes autodigestion (the digestion
of the pancreas own tissues) resulting in inflammation. This autodigestion can then cause
coagulative necrosis (cell death caused by ischemia and anemia), vascular damage, fat necrosis and
the growth of pseudocysts (fluid filled sac in the wall of the pancreas). All of these abnormalities,
injuries to the vessel walls, inflammation and coagulation malfunctions trigger an activation of
leukocytes. These responses will cause vasodilation and hypotension resulting in shock. The later
systemic effects of this can be respiratory arrest, cardiac failure, and renal failure

Nature of South China Sea Disputes
The issues on South China Sea disputes are inherently complex and are compounded by conflicting
interpretations from the claimant states. In attempting to dissect this conundrum, Dutton (2011)
propounds a framework to explain the three facets to the disputes territorial sovereignty, jurisdiction
over sea zones, and control over military activities. The argument on territorial sovereignty
premises on the notion of complete state authority over part of, or all of the islands in the South
China Sea, in particular the Paracel and Spratly Islands. Common to both, China is the only state
that has made sovereignty claims over both clusters of islands. It is noted that since 1949, the
Zhou Enlai government has published maps with nine dashes forming a U shape line in the South
China Sea demarcating its maritime boundaries (Nguyen, 2012). In late 2012, China even
published maps with the U shape line in its new passports (Anderlini amp; Bland, 2012).
Separately, Dillon (2011) posits that Beijing s territorial assertion in the South China Sea stems
from the historical tributary system with its vassal kingdoms that span from Japan and Korea in the

himself by having his wife teach Josh how to read, write, and count money.

Debate Process Cost
Why Does The Probate Process Cost So Much?
When the time comes for your family to divide your estate according to your will, your family
will need to go through the costly and lengthy process of probate The larger your estate is, the
longer the process will take, and the more expensive it will be. Why does the probate process cost
so much? These are the different costs that are associated with probate.
Court Costs
Each state has their own set of fees that that court will charge for their services. They can range
between hundreds or thousands of dollars depending on what the court does.
For example, Massachusetts will charge $375 to petition the appointment of a trustee, plus an

A basic estate with no more than a home and bank account can expect to pay minimal accounting
costs. If you have a much larger estate with stocks, bonds, property, a small business, and several
pieces of property, your accounting costs will be much greater. Accounting costs will even cover
filing an estate s federal tax return if it needs to be done.
Appraisal Costs
Your bank accounts are very easy to place a dollar value on, but other things are not. That is
where appraisal costs come in. To determine the total value of your estate, things such as real
estate and personal property will need to be appraised. Your estate will pay for the appraisal fees.
Miscellaneous Costs
Do not expect to get anything for free during the probate process. The estate will be charged for
things as small as postage needed to mail documents and notices. If there are costs associated with
storing, insuring, and moving personal property, those costs will be passed along to the estate as
well.
Thankfully, there are ways to minimize the amount of probate your family and friends will have to
go through. Work with an estate lawyer to find alternate ways to divide your

Franchising Is A Long Term Essay
Nowadays, franchising is one of the easiest ways to start a business. Franchising is defined as a
long term, continuing business relationship wherein for consideration, the franchisor grants to the
franchise a licensed right, subject to agreed requirements and restrictions, to condusct business
utilising the trade and/or service marks of the franchisor and also provides to the franchisee advice
and assistance in organising, merchandising, and managing the business conducted to the licensee
пЃ›1пЃќ. The company granting these rights in deemed the franchisor, the receiver of these
rights the franchisee, and the right is defined as the franchise. The franchiser owns a trademark or
brand, which he (or she) agrees to allow the franchisee to use for a fee (often an original purchase
price plus a percentage of sales). The franchiser provides the franchisee with assistance (financial,
choice of site, and so on) in setting up their operation, and then maintains continuing control over
various aspects of the franchisee s business; for example, via the supply of products, discussion of
their marketingplans and/or centralized staff training пЃ›2пЃќ.
The franchising arrangement may be viewed as an agency relationship in which the franchisor
(principal) is reliant upon franchisees (agents) to undertake actions on their behalf пЃ›3пЃќ.
Franchising organizations differ from other business, based on three important points пЃ›4пЃќ are:
1.Geographic dispersal of organizations units

Skeletal System Informative Speech
Have you ever wondered whats in your body? well i m here to tell you about the skeletal system

The skeletal system haves 6 primary functions. which includes support, protection, movement,
mineral homeostasis, blood cell protection, and storage. All of these functions are a big part of our
body and are helping us out even if we don t know they are. The support function provides
structural support for the entire body. The mineral homeostasis stores calcium and phosphorus. The
blood cell production is the red bone marrow which produces red and white blood cells and other

Gender Earnings Gap and Economic Transition Essay
Literature review: Gender Earnings Gap and Economic transition
Economic theories of discrimination proffer different perspectives for understanding gender pay
gaps. One В¬widely cited perspective discussed by Polachek (2004) emphasizes the role of human
capital theory, which suggests that improvements in skills and productivity through investments in
human capital characteristics such as education and job training are beneficial to individuals in that
they increase lifetime income. Given that more years of work experience reflect higher earnings
and that, on average, women work fewer hours than men in their lifetime, Polachek (2004) predicts
that women are subject to lower hourly wages compared to men. In this way, distinctions in human

Independent variables used in Oaxaca s (1973) study are potential experience and years of
schooling completed, as well as dummy variables for class of workers, industry, occupation, health
problems, part time employment, migration, marital status, size of urban area and region, as the
explanatory variables for his model (698). Consistent with human capital theory of discrimination,
Oaxaca s (1973) decomposition method involves breaking down the average wage differentials into
effects of differences in individual characteristics and effects of discrimination (Oaxaca 1973, 696).
Effects of differences in individual characteristics is the explained effect on the wage differential
that occurs due to an average difference in individual characteristics, such as potential experience or
education, between men and women receiving equal treatment (Oaxaca 1973). Effects of
discrimination indicates the coefficient effect on the wage differential that occur either due to
different treatment of men and women given that they possess the same individual characteristics,
or due to differences that cannot be explained by the regression model (Oaxaca 1973).
Reviewing the empirical and theoretical methods of the Oaxaca Blinder wage decomposition
(1973), Ospino et al. (2009) provide a summary of methodological criticisms observed by prior
studies. One noteworthy limitation of the decomposition method is a possibility of

Massachusetts Bay Colony Religion
In a sermon delivered aboard the ship Arbella, future New England governor John Winthrop

that religion was tremendously significant in the lives of the northern colonists known as Puritans

In regards to architecture, many of the Puritan homes and the few municipal buildings lacked the
style of dГ©cor and detail of Old World buildings, particularly because statuary and painting were
significant parts of the Catholic/Anglican ritual that the northern colonists were so eager to reject
(Fingerhut, 1967, p523). Evidently, the religious devotion to the Protestant Christian belief was
expressed in a more humble, minimalist manner through embroidery of floral designs and basic
geometric patterns in architecture (Fingerhut, 1967, p523). Thus, the architecture and construction
of the New World buildings can be considered a materialisation of their religious beliefs.
Additionally, the physical layout of the settlements in New England echoed the centrality of
religion in the northern colonists lives. Meetinghouses were the wood frame, municipal buildings
in which served the public for religious purposes as well as secular purposes (Benes, 2012). These
meetinghouses were often the physical centre of a township , and represented the significance of
religion in the lives of the colonists (Benes, 2012). Moreover, Historian David Hall suggests that
they were symbolic of the intimate link between the clergy and townsfolk a social evolution unlike

Midterm Reading Summary
Sense of Identity and Collegiate Academic Achievement The authors of this article were presenting
the results of their investigation into the relationship between grade point average (GPA) and the
Big Five personality traits of agreeableness, conscientiousness, emotional stability extraversion
and openness. The subject of this investigation was 434 second semester freshman students
enrolled in an introductory psychology course. The focus of the investigation was to determine
if an individual s sense of identity could be interpreted as a difference variable (Lounsbury, et.
al., 2005, p. 501) that could be measured within a range of low to high. The author s identified
that up until this point much of the research in this area approached identity as a categorical
variable at the nominal level of measurement (Lounsbury et al., 2005, p. 502). Secondly they
identified that in prior research GPA was not measured and evaluated on its impact on student s
sense of identity. There were four separate research questions identified in this investigation that
were the central focus. The first question looked to determine if a positive relationship existed
between GPA and sense of identity. The second question asked if the relationship between GPA

Presently defense originates from the law courts. A man was charged under the watchful eye of a

may show the surpassing wealth of His effortlessness. God needs to show His properties! That is
His inclination, thus men have been reclaimed with the goal for God to put His grandness in
plain view. God s incomparable reason, at that point, is to exhibit before all insights, realms,
forces, and blessed messengers, the surpassing wealth of His elegance. God needs every one of
those living animals in the majority of the universe to see the sadness of transgression, the lostness
of man, and the change of salvation, and the magnificent idea of effortlessness. The very reason for
which the congregation was called was to show His

Japanese employees in its manufacturing sector to retire early and all of these closed businesses
and cancelled job positions were moved to China. Matsushita s establishing of the new brain in
China, or Matsushita Electric R amp;D Center in Beijing, China, was the company s second largest
of 16 R amp;D centers around the world. Matsushita s chairman, Yoichi Morishita said it was too
difficult to explain everything about China to Japanese designers; to really make use of China s
special competitive advantages and to really meet Chinese customers demands, Matsushita decided
to hand over its China related development and research issues to local researchers and engineers.
Matsushita decided to localize material supplies and use as many Chinese suppliers as possible for
its operations in China because there are several material distribution and trade centers in China
that provide steel, paint, hardware, etc. all functioning with a mechanism similar to that of the
polystyrene distribution and trade centers. The fourth fundamental change in Matsushita s new
supply chain, Stretch the distribution link, Matsushita selected TCL, the largest TV producer in
China, as its strategic partner to stretch its supply chain to Chinese rural and inland markets. With

Enkidu And Gilgamesh Relationship
A friend understands you, loves you, trusts you, respects you and is loyal to you. The epic of
Gilgamesh by SГ®n lД“qi unninni is a book about the friendship and adventures of Gilgamesh
and Enkidu. Gilgamesh is a powerful and mortal king in the city of Uruk who is a two thirds god
and one third man. However, he is not a good king, he is oppressive to his people until the creation
of the wild man Enkidu. Even his own people are against him and state, Gilgamesh leaves no son
to his father. Day and night, he rampages fiercely. This is the shepherd of ramparted Uruk,
Gilgamesh leaves no girl to her mother (SГ®n lД“qi unninni 47.111 114). In the poem, you can
observe multiple relationships but the one between Enkidu and Gilgamesh is the most important.
The two friend s relationship is a good thing because it s the main cause of most of Gilgamesh s
adventure to self discovery. As the king of Uruk, Gilgamesh who is demi god is supposed to be
protecting his people. Instead, he uses his power to oppress them and takes advantage of the young
girls of his city. Bernd states, This development leads from... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Now he is scared and isn t certain of that anymore. When Gilgamesh leave his kingdom to go on a
quest for immortality he is looking for something that is impossible to find. His quest is like the
mind s search for control, order, and meaning in a world where everything is constantly
disintegrating. The quest proves the futility of the quest. There is no way to overcome death;
there is no way to control reality (Mitchell 63). Gilgamesh trip to find immortality at the end of
the world will leave him much wiser. He will realize that even though he doesn t have Enkidu at
his side anymore and could not obtain physical immortality he still obtained immortality because
he has his city of Uruk, so his name will live forever. Gilgamesh says these lines to close the

Strengths And Weaknesses Of Structural Family Therapy
Structural Family Therapy (SFT) is an approach used in family therapy settings. In every family
there are both strengths and weaknesses in how the family functions, this type of therapy focuses
on the ability of families to move forward any dysfunctional issues they can encounter. In every
family there has to be structure, a way of doing things, who is in charge and yet still be able to
adapt to change when it is necessary or problems begin to occur, in order to repair and alter issues
of dysfunction and reposition family boundaries, many therapists who use the structural family
approach have the belief that the problems the family is experiencing emerge in families when their
boundaries (that define structures) are not clear and when... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The foundation of the structural approach is to challenge the family organization, which leads to
symptom reduction because a new structure develops in the family one with more functional
interactional patterns (Reiter, 2016). It comes down to focusing on what is the cause of the
problem and what needs to be done to resolve it. Some assumptions that are related to this theory
can include families normally related to one another in patterned ways that are observable and
predictable (Linblad Goldberg Northey, 2013), most families have rules that each must follow
and roles they are to play in the family unit, when they get off balance then dysfunction can and
normally does occur. It is important that families have boundaries which include both inside and
outside of the family. Families also have subsystems which can be based on either generation or
genders. The structural approach can also be viewed as an art form, as the therapist takes on the
role of the artist and the family can be considered his/her canvas. As an artist, they can go into the
family like they were a member, and they can move, react, challenge and probe (Lee

To What Extent Is The Illuminati Fact Or Fiction
The Illuminati, fact or fiction?
There is an argument going on whether or not the Illuminati is real or not. You may be thinking,
what is the Illuminati, and what do they do? How can we be sure they exist and why would they
be doing what they are doing. How were they founded and what is their history.
The Illuminati is a powerful and savagely guarded organization that secretly controls the entire
modern world. It has done this mainly through infiltrating the media and brainwashing everybody. It
could be doing it right now. Alternately, it is one of the world s most persistent conspiracy theories.
It is persistent because Illuminati enthusiasts believe that they are up to something all the time,
which is very hard to disprove.
The Illuminati has existed since the dawn of time. It was founded in Bavaria on the first of May
1776, by a man called Adam Weishaupt, who couldn t afford the Freemason admission fee. His
society grew from as little as five members to thousands of people in a very short time frame, but
then, after Karl Theodor became ruler of Bavaria, secret societies were made punishable by death,
and there the order ended. Soon after, there were conspiracies suggesting that the Illuminati
continued their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Conspiracy theorists believe that they are brainwashing us with subliminal messages which means
anything that sends you a message without your Knowledge of It. Many think they want to control
the world with money and power. The way that they think they will be able to brainwash the world
is by using the music industry by hiding little messages in their songs. Famous singers accused of
being in the Illuminati are Prince, the queen, BeyoncГ©, Jay Z, and Madonna who even claims to
know who is apart of the organization. Even the American dollar bill hint that the Illuminati is

The Importance of Securing Sensitive Items Essay example

independent room that is secured and solely accessed by the owner of the stored items. Placing
care of items to trusted members of your unit is also considered safeguarding items of value but
trust should not always be put into everyone with in a unit for storage. In the case of Aldrich Ames

The Invention of Television and Its Effects on Society
People in today s society live a daily life that a basic person could map out. They go to work,
come home and make dinner, and sit down and watch some television. For kids it would be to
come home from school, and watch television. Television has become a major power in our
culture. It is our way to watch the news, hear the weather forecast, and to sit down and relax
watching our favorite show or movie. But is the televisionreally that good for our society? In 1884
the first ideas of the television came to an inventor by the name of Paul Nipkow. It was called the
scanning disk and was patented by him in 1884. It worked by having a large disk spin in front of
an object, while the photoelectric cell that worked it would take in the changes... Show more content

This led to a battle between the powers for the patent on the television. Farnsworth knew that he
couldn t license his own inventions at the time because the patent war was in court. Farnsworth
himself couldn t even keep his own working area stable. During the patent battle he fired his
fellow lab workers and rehired them many times. This was due not only to financial troubles, but of
his lack of confidence in his control in the company.
RCA in the meantime had begun their investment in the idea of the television. Before 1939 the
Radio Corporation of America had dumped over ten million dollars into the development of the
television. At the 1939 World s Fair in New York, Sarnoff spoke on behalf of RCA and said that
they would launch commercial television. This was an understatement for the time though as the
Radio Corporation of America s camera was not yet ready, and the corporation had yet to own a
patent on the television. RCA later in 1939 had to pay patent royalties to Farnsworth s company,
which made Farnsworth part of the television scene. But Farnsworth now realized that the situation
was out of his hands and into businessmen s hands. He sold off his company after World War II.
In today s world television has taken a very dominant role in our lives. One could look at the
average American s viewing habits as follows. A person wakes up and turns on the television to
see the morning weather and how their stocks fared. The individual proceeds to go to work,

Equilibrium in price find when supply and demand will intersect each other. The change in one of them will cause price fluctuate. For instance the problem with supply may cause poor harvest or loss in production. Change in demand can be caused by change in technology, income or substitutes (Parkin 2010). Mostly in agricultural or commodity markets there is large price fluctuation in price in very short time. • 5. The Physics Of Scuba Diving Essay example Have you ever wondered what it would be like to swim with the fish and explore the underwater jungle that covers two thirds of the earth s surface? I have always been interested in water activities; swimming, diving and skiing, and I felt that scuba was for me. My first dive took place while on a family vacation. I came across a dive shop offering introductory dives, which immediately caught my interest. After much convincing (my parents), with my solemn assurance that I would be careful, I was allowed to participate in a dive. I was ready, or so I thought. The slim basics such as breathing were explained and I was literally tossed in. Sounds easy enough, right!, well WRONG!!. From the moment I hit the water, my experience was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Scuba diving is the most frequently used mode in recreational diving and, in various forms, is also widely used to perform underwater work for military, scientific, and commercial purposes. There were many steps in the development of a successful self contained underwater system. In 1808, Freiderich yon Drieberg invented a bellows in a box device that was worn on the diver s back and delivered compressed air from the surface. This device, named Triton, did not actually work but served to suggest that compressed air could be used in diving, an idea initially conceived of by Halley in 1716. (Ketels, 9) In 1865, two French inventors, Rouquayrol and Denayrouse, developed a suit that they described as self contained. In fact, their suit was not self contained but consisted of a helmet using surface supported system that had an air reservoir that was carried on the diver s back and was sufficient to provide one breathing cycle on demand. The demand valve regulator was used with surface supply largely because tanks of adequate strength were not yet available to handle air at high pressure. This system s demand valve, which was automatically controlled, represented a major ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Essay On Immunocastration In Milk In addition, consistent with the low density of spermatogonia, spermatids and seminiferous tubules observed in testicles, the mRNA expressions of LH ОІ and FSH ОІ in the pituitary gland were both significantly decreased after immunocastration in the treated rams. The result is in agreement with the findings of [Wei et al., 2011] in rabbit and [Fang et al., 2010] in boar that GNRHR mRNA expression in the pituitary was significantly decreased in immunocastrated animals. Furthermore, [Sakurai et al., 1992] reported that there was a reduction of GNRHR mRNA in the pituitary and protein concentration after passive immunocastration of male sheep. In general, oral immunization with active kisspeptin DNA vaccine plays a significant role in suppressing GNRH secretion in the hypothalamus, GNRHR in the pituitary, and negative regulation of the secretion of steroid hormones. Leydig cells have essential roles in the maintenance of steroidogenesis and spermatogenesis in the testes. The failures of both processes are attributed to Leydig cell dysfunction. In the current research, expression of testicular LH receptor and FSH receptor mRNAs was significantly lower in the treated ram lambs (P 0.05), implying that testicular responsiveness to LH stimulation was impaired. Indeed, active immunization against GNRH in boars significantly reduced testicular LH receptor and testosterone concentrations following treatment with exogenous LH [Wei et al. 2011; Wei et al., 2012]. Moreover, expression of testicular LHR mRNA was significantly decreased, which further confirmed that the functions of Leydig within testes were severely impaired. In addition, it is well known that FSH plays a role in spermatogenesis. However, the expression levels of FSHR mRNA in the testes of treated rams and control rams were not siginificantly different, demonstrating oral kisspeptin DNA immunization has no influence on ... • 9. The Importance Of Humility In Beowulf Humility is an important lesson all successful people must eventually learn. The epic poem Beowulf written sometime around 1000 A.D. follows the adventure of a great warrior on his quest to greatness. Throughout the poem he is taught that humility is the key to success. Beowulf comes to the land of the Danes to defeat the monster Grendel. Beowulfaccomplishes his task and conquers both Grendel and the monster s mother. After claiming victory, Beowulf earns glory, honor, and respect. The great warrior then returns home to become the king later in his life. Beowulf learns throughout the story that arrogance has consequences and being humble will grant respect from others. Beowulf changes throughout the story ultimately becoming a humble warrior. Beowulf learns humility when fighting Grendel, when fighting Grendel s mother, from hearing legends and from his past. Beowulf is humbled after fighting Grendel. Before fighting Grendel Beowulf was over confident and cocky. He believed that he was the greatest and did not realize the extent of the challenge of fighting Grendel. Although Beowulf won the battle he did not kill him in the mead hall as he had intended. Beowulf did not have the skill set to kill Grendel as he first predicted, he seriously injured him but did not kill him in the mead hall. Beowulf learned that not everything is as easy as it may seem. The result of the fight humbled Beowulf. Fighting Grendel gave Beowulf perspective and taught him not to act egotistical, and to never underestimate your opponent. The lesson Beowulf learns is reflected in his actions throughout the rest of the story. When praised for his accomplishments, Beowulf did not boast or act superior, he accepted his loses and celebrated his wins among the rest of the Danes. When Grendel s mother arrives to torment the Danes, seeking vengeance for her son s death, Beowulf s fight with Grendel s mother ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Kurdistan Workers Party Research Paper The Kurdistan Workers Party I decided to do my paper on the terrorist organization named Kurdistan Workers party from what I have read about them they are a very interesting group, but violent. The main reason for their attacks is to form a Kurdistan state within Turkey. Some people apart of this organization feel that Turkey has oppressed their culture. They want to fight Turkish officials to prove their point. The group was started by Abdullah Ocalan, a man who believes in Marxist lenist ideas. Abdullah now resides in a Turkish prison but still has control over what the PKK (Kurdish workers party) does. First, Some history of Abdullah Ocalan. He was born in Kurdish village in the country of Turkey. The city where he was born was Omerli, Turkey, On the date of April 4, 1948. He is also known as Apo which means Uncle. He was basically the guy who started it all. I am sure there were many before him with different beliefs, but he was the guy who created the group to make a change for some Kurdish people. I do say some because not all Kurdish people may agree with Apo, because of the violence the group portrays. Ocalan s surname means avenger . The group can be said to be a terrorist organization by most countries, and defiantly an enemy to Turkey. Ocalan was born to a peasant family in a village in southeastern Turkey. Another reason that supports why women should be treated equally. as men is the idea that gender should not be taken as a discrimination tool. Gender the state of being a male or a female does not reflect the actual capabilities between women and men. The main reason why females act differently than men is that they are raised in a way to behave in a certain manner especially in the discriminating countries. Feminists struggle for the equality and discrimination against female. As feminist movement started, lots of female writers were explored. One of the most famous writers is Kate Chopin. Her works mostly present a theme of women pursue freedom and equality. The Story Of An Hourand The Awakening are her representative works. In these two works, Kate Chopinreveals how women lived under the oppression of male dominated society, especially for women who got married. They were not financially independent and their freedom and rights were deprived. Therefore female were forced to be an angle in the home . Both challenge the preconception that women can only be a housekeeper and marriageis the only way out. The Story of an Hour was narrated by the third person. The main character Mrs. Mallard is a housewife and she has a heart trouble. Her Husband dies in a railroad disaster. When she heard the news, she did not hear the story as many women have heard the same, with a paralyzed inability to accept its significance. She wept at once, with sudden, wild abandonment, in her sister s arms (Pg 93). She did not cry out immediately, she seems shocked for a while and suddenly break out. Ethnic Nationalism Source Of Community Of Fear Essay Ethnic Nationalism Source of Community of Fear Nationalism, according to the most widely accepted definitions of, is the doctrine that the state and the nation should be congruent. However, there is much more to add to the definition of nationalism today in connection to the ethnic and civil society. The definition of nationalism depends on its context. The typology of nationalism defines its strength and/or weakness of the relationship among the community in which it s defined. While civil nationalism accepts people for who they are in the unique condition that they accept the country s constitution, ethnic nationalism goes beyond and requires that the community should share a common culture which can be raced, ethnic group, language or religion. There are many explanations in resonating for why ethnic nationalism is an exclusive National project (according to Igatieff). Despite the urgency of this issue, Scholars have until recently not addressed the question of accommodation of communities regarding ethnic nationalism. This argument will contribute to this discussion, by looking at the link between conflicts and ethnic nationalism. The points presented in this argumentation will highlight the weaknesses of ethnic nationalism in modern states. The argument will articulate these weaknesses by first looking at the genealogical roots and the modernist origin of ethnic nationalism. The two stories appear to be similar because innocence characters have to suffer. The hiding meanings are deep within each character and in each story. The two stories maybe different; however, the moral behind the two stories are closely related. The female characters are pure at hearts and innocence just like nature. However, the male characters are like the devil that creeping upon what is natural and pure and destroy it. It is very clear to see that Hawthorne s stories embrace the female characters and their beauties. On other hand, he reviews the males evil ambitions; they are only seeking for their own glories by using sciencein created and change nature. Indeed, without any doubt, each of the stories, the male characters caused their loveones to parish due to their evil ambitions. In both of the stories by Hawthorne, both female characters are automatically pure at heart and their beauties are an outstanding example of goddess. After these large particles are packaged in vesicles, if the molecules are to be secreted from the cell, the transport vesicles fuse with the plasma membrane in a process called exocytosis. James Rothman discovered that this process is done very precisely as specific protein complexes on the transport vesicles and specific proteins on the plasma membrane bind together to cause this fusion (1). When the cell takes in particles from the outside, the cell sinks inward to form a vesicle of materials from the outside in the same principle that James Rothman identified. With the end of the middle of the second nine weeks rapidly approaching so too are classroom summative assignments. During my visit on the twentieth I was able to both see the test creation process in a PLC and participate in the creation of some questions. Two of the three teacher I have been able to spend time with in the classroom, the first being in internship and the second, Mrs. Casanova with service learning. Both teachers employ direct instruction as their primary means of conveying information, with Mrs. Casanova using it more than the honors and AP teachers. However, within the PLC the test questions were being created for all classes, rather than having separate questions for AP, honors, and regular classes, with the only difference being the written response questions being more challenging in upper classes. Due to this, content evidence was very important, especially for the upper classes, as they technically would be getting the same test as a regular. Beyond this however, the instruction leading up to the test also had to be evaluated as the questions were made with AP in mind. According to the book, content evidence connects to state standards and what the students need to know based off this, which should be reflected within the instruction (pg. 396). • 25. Reality And Moral Truth In Herman Melville s Benito Cereno The fictionality in Herman Melville s Benito Cereno draws the reader s attention to the difference between fictional and moral truth, or the truth as it happened versus the truth as it is interpreted. Fictionality is when the line between fact and fiction is purposely blurred by the author in order to illuminate a truthfor the reader; it is when the author alters reality to create a more fitting stage for the story. The truth that is revealed through the fictionality tends to be a moraltruth, such as a life lesson or universal certitude. Throughout this short story, the submerged message of abolitionist thought is hidden beneath layers of lies, speculations, and altered facts. The story is based on true events, and it is this idea of a hidden truth underneath the constructed reality that echoes throughout the work. By changing the year the events take place, the author subtly alters the context of the story, but the underlying truth remains constant. It is with these clues and fictionality that Melville explains the difference between factual truth and the deeper truth that transcends moments, events, or even people. This inner truth is told underneath the story itself, which emphasizes the perception of the participants. The difference between perception and truth is that one changes with the facts, and the other does not. There is a truth in something like a novel, a moral truth, that exceeds a purely realistic story from life. The fictionality that Melville uses to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If this new tissue is not flexible and is unable to preform the task required of the SO it will be detrimental to the surrounding organs such as the pancreas and more importantly the individual s health. The pancreas is responsible for releasing enzymes to aid in the digestion and absorption of food in the small intestine; it also creates hormones that regulate blood sugar levels. (Kathryn L. McCance, 2014)(NCBI, 2013) These enzymes travel through the pancreatic duct and out the Sphincter of Oddi into the Duodenum. If scar tissue is present at the SO it will be incapable of relaxing and allowing for pancreatic enzymes to pass through into the duodenum resulting in a backup of secretions. The overflow of secretions in the pancreas causes autodigestion (the digestion of the pancreas own tissues) resulting in inflammation. This autodigestion can then cause coagulative necrosis (cell death caused by ischemia and anemia), vascular damage, fat necrosis and the growth of pseudocysts (fluid filled sac in the wall of the pancreas). All of these abnormalities, injuries to the vessel walls, inflammation and coagulation malfunctions trigger an activation of leukocytes. These responses will cause vasodilation and hypotension resulting in shock. The later systemic effects of this can be respiratory arrest, cardiac failure, and renal failure ... In regards to architecture, many of the Puritan homes and the few municipal buildings lacked the style of dГ©cor and detail of Old World buildings, particularly because statuary and painting were significant parts of the Catholic/Anglican ritual that the northern colonists were so eager to reject (Fingerhut, 1967, p523). Evidently, the religious devotion to the Protestant Christian belief was expressed in a more humble, minimalist manner through embroidery of floral designs and basic geometric patterns in architecture (Fingerhut, 1967, p523). Thus, the architecture and construction of the New World buildings can be considered a materialisation of their religious beliefs. Additionally, the physical layout of the settlements in New England echoed the centrality of religion in the northern colonists lives. Meetinghouses were the wood frame, municipal buildings in which served the public for religious purposes as well as secular purposes (Benes, 2012). These meetinghouses were often the physical centre of a township , and represented the significance of religion in the lives of the colonists (Benes, 2012). Moreover, Historian David Hall suggests that they were symbolic of the intimate link between the clergy and townsfolk a social evolution unlike the Old World, in which there was immense separation between such people (1984, ... • 47. Strengths And Weaknesses Of Structural Family Therapy Structural Family Therapy (SFT) is an approach used in family therapy settings. In every family there are both strengths and weaknesses in how the family functions, this type of therapy focuses on the ability of families to move forward any dysfunctional issues they can encounter. In every family there has to be structure, a way of doing things, who is in charge and yet still be able to adapt to change when it is necessary or problems begin to occur, in order to repair and alter issues of dysfunction and reposition family boundaries, many therapists who use the structural family approach have the belief that the problems the family is experiencing emerge in families when their boundaries (that define structures) are not clear and when... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The foundation of the structural approach is to challenge the family organization, which leads to symptom reduction because a new structure develops in the family one with more functional interactional patterns (Reiter, 2016). It comes down to focusing on what is the cause of the problem and what needs to be done to resolve it. Some assumptions that are related to this theory can include families normally related to one another in patterned ways that are observable and predictable (Linblad Goldberg Northey, 2013), most families have rules that each must follow and roles they are to play in the family unit, when they get off balance then dysfunction can and normally does occur. It is important that families have boundaries which include both inside and outside of the family. Families also have subsystems which can be based on either generation or genders. The structural approach can also be viewed as an art form, as the therapist takes on the role of the artist and the family can be considered his/her canvas. As an artist, they can go into the family like they were a member, and they can move, react, challenge and probe (Lee ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Television has become a major power in our culture. It is our way to watch the news, hear the weather forecast, and to sit down and relax watching our favorite show or movie. But is the televisionreally that good for our society? In 1884 the first ideas of the television came to an inventor by the name of Paul Nipkow. Farnsworth knew that he couldn t license his own inventions at the time because the patent war was in court. Farnsworth himself couldn t even keep his own working area stable. During the patent battle he fired his fellow lab workers and rehired them many times. This was due not only to financial troubles, but of his lack of confidence in his control in the company. RCA in the meantime had begun their investment in the idea of the television. Before 1939 the Radio Corporation of America had dumped over ten million dollars into the development of the television. At the 1939 World s Fair in New York, Sarnoff spoke on behalf of RCA and said that they would launch commercial television. This was an understatement for the time though as the Radio Corporation of America s camera was not yet ready, and the corporation had yet to own a patent on the television. RCA later in 1939 had to pay patent royalties to Farnsworth s company, which made Farnsworth part of the television scene. But Farnsworth now realized that the situation was out of his hands and into businessmen s hands. He sold off his company after World War II. In today s world television has taken a very dominant role in our lives. One could look at the average American s viewing habits as follows.
