Conflict Experiences
Conflict experiences; behaviors that are highly correlated with managing or resolving conflict.
Scenario 1. This reflection on the conflicts of the Executive Director terminating a team member
who I feel was not properly trained to performed or understand the job effectively. I supervise three
paid staff and ten to fifteen volunteers. This particular situation occurred on my day off from work.
The staff member did not get permission from his immediate supervisor to leave work. The
Executive Director (ED) realized the staff member present false information when asked about
informing his supervisor that he needed to leave work. The Human Resources Director (HRD),
supervisor, staff member, convened a meeting in the ED s office the next morning. The ED
attempted to communicate with the staff member by asking him (in a demeaning tone) if he called
the supervisor, yesterday. The staff member became irritated, defensive, disrespectful,
insubordinate, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The new Activity Assistant needed to take time off for a family emergency. The Activity Director
responsibility is to approve and sign all requests to be off documents. The new Activity Assistant
avoided the Activity Director and carried the documents to the Executive Director to sign. The next
morning in the staff meeting the Activity Director informed the HR manager that the Activity
Assistant left without submitting the leave forms to the Activity Director for signature. The HR
manager, said, the Activity Assistant gave the form to the Executive Director and the forms were
sign and approved.
In my opinion, the behaviors that correlated with resolving conflict are not present in scenarios 1, 2
and 3. However, following behaviors are essential to resolving the above conflicts: ccommunication,
encouragement, goal sitting, compromise, forgiveness, compassion, and empathy, finding common
ground, and being an active listener without these components managing conflict could be

Cultural Syncretism In Greek Art
Greco Buddhist art is the artistic form of Greco Buddhism, a cultural syncretism between the
Classical Greek culture and Buddhism. Greco Buddhist art is characterized by the apparent
idealistic realism and in depth portrayal of Hellenistic art. Representations of the Buddha alongside
traditional Greek deities have helped outline the artistic canon for Buddhist art throughout Asia up
to the present. Additionally, it is also a strong example of cultural syncretism between eastern and
western civilizations and how the combination of the two cultures can redefine ideas of divinity.
Gods from the Greek mythological pantheon are incorporated in Buddhist representations,
displaying a strong combination of the two belief systems. A prominent depiction... Show more

Although both Herakles and Vajrapani are independent in tradition, blending them together creates a
new understanding of the ties between Greco Buddhism and how symbolism can be carried
throughout different cultures. As a syncretic combination of Western borrowing in concept and
iconography, the protector function of Vajrapani rendered the character distinctively qualified to
the personification of Herakles. Interpretations seen throughout currency and sculpture made an
undeniable impact and served as the forefront of Greco Guddhism as a canon of art. Additionally,
the knowledge of Herakles as a military valor and as a symbol of strength was apparent across
cultures; making it nearly impossible to deny how the Heraklean interpretation of Vajrapani served
as a cohesive force in forming Greco Buddhism as an artistic movement. Nontheless, the analogous
function of the two deities had much impact on Vajrapani being distinctively remembered as
Heraklean in nature, a form derided by western classical art. Surely this can be considered a fault of
the idolization of western culture in opposition to other cultures and how society perpetuates others

Fantasy Voyage from Femoral Vein to Right Lobe of the Lung...
HS 130
Unit 4 Assignment
Fantasy Voyage and Battle of the Lung
Hello everyone and welcome aboard! I am S Y. with Voyage Health. Today, we will embark
together in my mini sub and we shall travel through the body of this young lady named Lola. In
this journey we will enter her body through the femoral vein and travel all the way to her lung.
Alert! Alert!
An alert just came and we are in for a surprise. Bacteria have invaded Lola s lower lobe of her right
lung and we shall report the invasion and document all we see.
Let s proceed. We are being injected into the femoral vein close to the groin area. The femoral vein
runs parallel with the femoral artery through the upper thigh and pelvic region of the body. (Yahoo

two chambers and it looks like flaps that blocks blood flowing back into the atrium. (Yahoo Health,
2013) The right ventricle of the heart has the mission to pump the blood into the pulmonary artery

We are steps away from the most magnificent oxygen factory you have ever seen. Short and wide,
the pulmonary artery begins at the base of the right ventricle and with a considerable size of 1.2
inches in diameter and 2.0 inches in length. Interesting fact: the pulmonary artery is one of the only
arteries that carry deoxygenated blood. The other artery is the umbilical artery in the fetus. This is
just something I remembered from an Anatomy class I used to take in college. The main pulmonary
artery extends from the right ventricle of the heart and branches into left and right pulmonary
arteries. The left and right pulmonary arteries extend to the left lung and right lungs.(Bailey, Regina

A Comparison Between The Way to Rainy Mountain and Love...
In the novels Love Medicine by Louise Erdrich and The Way to Rainy Mountain by N. Scott
Momaday, the reader gains views of Native American culture, both past and present, through two
disparate means of delivery. Both authors provide immensely rich portrayals through varying
literary devices in efforts to bring about a better understanding of problems contemporary Native
Americans face, especially regarding their own self identity.
The story of Love Medicine revolves around a central character, June Kashpaw, and the many
threads of relationships surrounding her, both near the time of her death, and in what has gone on
before. The novel is an exploration of a family web that June was a key component of. Her
character is a pivot point ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Complications of plot are sparse, but are evident in an episodic fashion, as each small episode has
its own complexion and related complication that normally resolved within itself. In this regard of
episodic plots, the technique is similar to Love Medicine.
Erdrich appears to have a series of plots, or plots within plots in Love Medicine, At times, it is
difficult to anticipate where a plot exists until it becomes apparent in its crisis resolution. Again,
much like Momaday s work, the plots are episodic the different stories are interconnected and feed
into one another, but are capable of standing alone withy their own plots. Erdrich makes heavy use
of the characters themselves to advance the plot for each episode, and in inter relation between
each episode., whereas Momaday relies more on past story as a guide to present context.
Characterization is the strength of Love Medicine. The humorous, but tragic, exploits of eccentric
characters are extremely vivid in her story, and force a constant chnage of viewpoint for the
reader as more aspects of characters are revealed. The characters in this novel are a woven pattern
of intricacy possibly far surpassing the reader s ability, and especially surpassing the characters
themselves. This may be by design, as those things unresolved and disjointed by the end of the story
can promote an incomplete and unsettled set of emotions

How Investment Is Important For Job Creation And Growth Of...
Investment is key to job creation and growth. When Germany and Pakistan signed a bilateral
investment treaty in 1959, it showed the world how modern trade and investment agreements
among countries can be concluded to protect foreign investment ( arbitration game | The
Economist, n.d.). Since then, there have been over 3000 trade and investment agreement between
180 countries. Many of these agreements contain a mechanism called Investor State Dispute
Settlement (ISDS), which allows a foreign investor to invoke arbitration against the host
governmentfor the breach of certain investor protections (Sapiro, 2015).
Governments put ISDS in place for at least three reasons:

They are also not bound by a legal precedent system and enjoy wide discretion. The tribunalists are
not salaried but paid by the parties (foreign investors or host government), which results in
incentivizing a pro investor bias among tribunalists. According to the Fair and Equitable Treatment
(FET), foreign investors alone enjoy broadly interpreted substantive rights which are also vague.
Not only this poses a threat to the environmental, health and financial protections but also give
privileges to foreign investors over domestic firms. Domestic firms can launch ISDS cases using
their foreign subsidiaries against their home government. Treaty shopping is another concern as
foreign investors can reshuffle their corporate structure or establish new subsidiary to access
ISDS ( Do the Commission s reform proposals for ISDS really solve the problem? Stop TTIP Stop
TTIP, n.d.).
Although, there is a lot of discussion around reforming the ISDS clause, there are sound reasons
why most states still embrace the ISDS provisions in their trade and investment agreements. The
domestic quality of legal protections varies widely among states with some of the legal systems not
functioning within the acceptable standard of fairness despite treaty obligations. We do see that the
largest number of ISDS disputes have

Bradley Manning In Sociology
Sociology is defined as the study of the development, structure, and functioning of human society
(Webster). If you really look at the things that happen in the society around you, there will be
times that you see things that happened in the news and see a direct correlation with prior sources
from the same issue. For example, Chelsea Manning, also known as Bradley Manning, who has
been released from prison after receiving a pardon from Former President Barack Obama. Manning
was placed in a prison barracks at Fort Leavenworth in Kansas serving a 35 year sentence for
WikiLeaks of classified United States military documents (The New York Times) While she has
been issued a pardon, there have been several issues that have led her to that pardon.
Manning was initially placed in Fort Leavenworth where she could have served a 90 year
sentence. However, the judge was very lenient to only sentence her to 35 years, despite the jury

on the list to be pardoned was one of the largest leakers, known as Edward J. Snowden. Mr.
Snowden was a former intelligence contractor who leaked out archives of top secret surveillance
files (The New York Times). Snowden is currently in Russia, living as a fugitive. What is the
reasoning behind allowing Manning a pardon, but not Snowden when they both committed the
same level of crime? Manning was released based on her mental health status being lessened each
day that she lived her life in solitary confinement, ultimately soon to lead to a successful suicide
had she not been given the pardon. Snowden on the other hand fled the country and found refuge in
another country, which has extended his stay until 2020 or longer (The New York Times).
Snowden also released data which was much more severe than that of

The beaches of South Carolina are a prized quality and possession to the state and its people as it
provides beauty, enjoyment and the economic benefits of tourism year round. Due to storms,
natural processes of sand movement and development, the beaches of South Carolina,
specifically the Grand Strand beaches and local beaches of Sullivan s Island and Folly Beach,
are eroding at a rapid rate. Erosion is a natural process effected by sea level rise, storms and
currents and many techniques have been used in the past to combat erosion issues that threaten to
wash away beaches and homes in the process. Erosion preventative structures used in the past, such
as jetties and seawalls, have proven to be even more damaging to beach erosion but... Show more

Sea level rise is also a significant factor of erosion because as the sea level has risen over time,
beaches and barrier islands have moved, transporting sand in the process. Sea level rise is a long
term process of coastal transformation as sand is steadily removed from beaches and barrier
islands and transported to other areas, creating less protection for beaches and estuaries. As sea
level rise continues to increase along the South Carolina coast, erosion by coastal flooding will
become an even greater problem (United States 1.1). One study on the correlation between sea
level rise and erosion concluded that sea level rise does increase erosion rates if nothing else due
to the fact that rising sea level enables high energy waves to reach farther up the beach and
redistribute sand offshore (Leatherman 55). Human activity through construction also has a
negative effect on beaches and erosion, for example the building of structures such as seawalls,
jetties and groins have negatively effected the movement of sand, thus not allowing the proper
amount of sand to reach the beaches and barrier islands to replace the moving sand due to other
factors (United States 1.1). Erosion is a natural process of coastal change due to many factors, but
human activity and development can increase the rate at which

Forest Fires Essay
Review of Literature
I.Introduction Forest Fires
According to Merriam Webster s Dictionary, Wildfire means a sweeping and destructive
conflagration esp. in a wilderness or a rural area. Also according to the same dictionary, wilderness
means a tract or region uncultivated and uninhabited by human beings. Forest Fires happen when
there is a drought because branches and twigs die and dry out creating plenty of fuel for a fire.
According to the NIFC (National Interagency Fire Center) there are about 105,534 wildfires that
occur each year.
Wildfires occur when the climate is moist making trees and shrubs ready to grow and when a dry,

What Are The Similarities Between The Han And Roman Empire
Thesis Statement
This is about Han and Roman Empire. This argument is saying that the Romans were more
powerful than the Han Empire based on its military system. This will be coming from the Han s
prospective from 206 B.C to 220 B.C. Also talking from the Roman Empire s point of view
from14 C.E to 330 C.E. There will be similarities in this paper but mostly differences because
these are two totally different cultures. The reason for picking the Romans is because the Han s
constantly deployed soldiers year round, even getting soldiers that we not Chinese that lived on
the border. Having the advantage of speed and size the Han s had the advantage of taking over all
of China. The ability of having these advantages of speed and size gives the Han military of taking
over the feudal power structure of other Chinese states.2 But the Roman empire their cavalry would
be arranged in columns which will cover more space. The general will also assign his lightened
armed troops which were javelin throwers, bowman, and slingers in the front. If not placed in the
front the lightened armed troops would actually do more damage to the phalanx than the enemy.
The heavy armed troops would be in the back having the ability to shoot and aim high in the air and
being able to hit the enemy and not the phalanx.1 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Abstract This study aim to investigate the needlepunched nonwoven textile material based
composites. Epoxy as a bonding agent and polypropylene based needle punched nonwoven fiber
mat (PP600gsm) as a reinforced component of composites were used. The solid particle erosion
and mechanical properties of needlepunched nonwoven fiber mat reinforced composites were
investigated. The solid particle erosion wear behavior of needlepunched nonwoven polypropylene
composites was evaluated using irregular shape silica sand particles with the size of 250, 350 and

Integrating A Dual Language Immersion Program
Based on the information presented by Rhodes, Ochoa, Ortiz s Assessing Culturally and
Linguistically Diverse Students a practical guide I would develop a Two Way Dual language
immersion K 12 program involving a Late Exit Transitional Bilingual Education element. I
visualize a Dual Language Immersion as program that provides education in two languages for
English speakers and non native speakers of English. In a Two Way ninety ten system or
program in which monolingual English speaking students acquire the school curriculum together
with non native speakers of English; a portion of the instructional day is taught in English and
another portion is in Spanish. In a One Way ninety ten system or model it will follow the same
model as the Two Way with the only difference being the classroom structure. Classroom
structure consists primarily of non native speakers of English. The ultimate goal of this model
aims for additive bilingualism, biliteracy, above average academic achievement in two
languages, and multiculturalism for all students in grades K 12th. The bilingual program clearly
follows the Bestever Charter Schools Transitional Model defined as: K 1st 90% Spanish and

Karma in Hinduism, Jainism and Buddhism Karma is a word meaning different things in different

The main definition of Karma for the Hinduism is consequences of actions. The way it is said is
your past actions whether they were good or bad can cause the same reactions to you soul. You

Compost
Introduction Irisses work well in beds, borders and foundation plantings.
Comstock/Stockbyte/Getty Images
With its six petaled flowers that range in color from yellow, white and pink to blue, red and
purple, iris (Iris spp.) can be an attractive addition in the garden. Iris consists of more than 200
species, many of which are hardy to U.S. Department of Agriculture plant hardiness zone 3. Siberian
iris (Iris sibirica) and crested iris (Iris cristata), for instance, can thrive in USDA plant hardiness
zones 3 through 9. (See References 1) Although commonly grown true to type by division, irises
can also grow from seed, although they don t grow true to the parent plant. (See References 2)
Step 1
Harvest the seedpods from an iris plant after it s done blooming in the fall. If pollinated, find the
pods on the plant below faded flowers. Remove them from the plant when they are partially green
and start to split open. Shell the pods to reveal about 60 seeds per pod. (See References 3)
Step 2
Fill a small bowl with enough water to submerse the seeds. Place the seeds in the bowl and allow
them to soak. Every day, drain the liquid, pouring it in a strainer so you catch the seeds. Refill the
bowl with fresh water and place the seeds back in it. Do this for up to two weeks to eliminate the
germination inhibiting properties of the seeds. (See References 4)

Analysis Of William Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
Introduction What s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell just as
sweet. This quote from Shakespeare is from the balcony scene when Juliet tells Romeo that his
name is meaningless and that he is still a handsome young man and that only their family names
are enemies. This same quote can be applied in today s society in how people address each other
based on different situations, especially when addressing women. There are many different titles
that can be used to address women as opposed to men, but despite the title used, the womanherself
does not change. Only the meaning and stereotype associated with the title used changes.
Throughout the years, the titles used to address women have slowly shifted meaning from that
of a social status to that of a marital status. Erickson (2014) explains that the titles Miss and Mrs.
are the oldest coined terms used to address women, and both of them derive from the title
Mistress. Both titles were generally only used for those of higher power and status. Miss
described young girls while Mrs. , described women who had governed subjects, was skilled, or
who taught. Upon reaching adulthood, a Miss became a Mrs. , and according to the Oxford
English Dictionary, it was common for older, unmarried women to still use the title Mrs. so they
could increase their standing to be on par with married women. This was why sometimes this
referred to as a title of politeness or courtesy title. But by the

that North Vietnamese forces could not match the American firepower but they could outlast them
as they had the French colonial military following World War II. The North Vietnamese were able
to see how Americans used their field artillery and air mobility. They learned to fight the Americans
as close as possible to negate the American fire superiority. This strategy would make it difficult for
Americans to use artillery against the North Vietnamese without harming their own forces. It built
an ongoing confidence in him and his subordinates. The North Vietnamese also learned that the
Americans would not pursue them across borders. This allowed them to cross into Cambodia, refit

Comparing The Book Heart Over Height And Isaiah Austin s...
Hello welcome to my lecture. Today I will be comparing Nate Robinson s autobiography Heart
over height and Isaiah Austin s Autobiography Dream again . The purpose of this lecture is to
compare and analyse the effectiveness to manipulate the audience. Heart over height and Dream
again are both autobiographies written from the perspectives of a current and a former basketball
player.
Heart over height discusses the struggles of being a short athlete in a sport that is dominated by
tall people, to expand on this Nate Robinson is doubted throughout his whole playing career on
the basis of being five foot nine. and if he was only a few inches taller he would have more
respect, Isiah Thomas said it best: If Nate Robinson was 6 feet tall, he d be the No. 1 pick in the
draft. (Robinson). On the other hand in Dream again, Isaiah Austin tells the story of how he is
forced to leave behind his life long dream of playing in the nba, ... Show more content on

as a member of the Baylor university basketball team and was considered a first round selection in
the 2014 NBA draft but unfortunately found out he would be unable to play only a few days before
the draft.
The writing styles presented in both of these books hold similarities like past tense and
descriptiveness, But while reading dream again there was a distinctive positive difference in
terms of the descriptiveness within the writing style and use of language devices like analogies,
for example when describing how he felt when he found out he was positive for marfan
syndrome, he used an analogy of a blindsided tackle on a football field, a unbelievable blow that he

Music Therapy Research Summary
Music Therapy Approaches for Treatment of Agitation and Anxiety in Patients with Dementia
Music Therapy Methods The studies reviewed, implemented various music therapy interventions to
older adult dementia patients to examine the effects associated with agitation and anxiety
behaviors. Music therapy methods used throughout the twelve studies include live presentations,
pre recorded listening activities and instrumental utilization exercises. Two studies utilized a mixed
method model (Ridder, 2013; Chu, 2013). Live presentation approach. Two studies used a live
presentation approach to deliver the intended music therapy (Clare, 2014; Cooke, 2010). Clare?s
(2014) case study examined the effects of a live music presentation by a hired musician after four
hours, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at a long term care facility. The hired musician played guitar
and sang to a six study participants throughout the course of one afternoon (Clare, 2014). The latter

The majority of the reviewed studies used a certified music therapist in the study, either by
conducting or observing the music therapy intervention. In total, a certified music therapist was
used in six studies (Clare, 2014; Sung, 2012; Ridder, 2013; Chu, 2014; Raglio, 2015; Cooke,
2010). Clare (2014) required a certified music therapist to observe participants during the hired
musician?s live presentation and record wellbeing scores. Cooke (2010) also utilized the certified
music therapy in a similar manner. A musical group of two performed live at every session, and a
certified music therapist introduced the session and was responsible for observing participants
during the therapy. The remaining studies assigned a musical therapist to deliver the selected music
therapy approach (Sung, 2012; Ridder, 2013, Chu, 2014; Raglio, 2015). A systemic review found

Robert Hunter West s Milton And The Angels
Robert Hunter West. Milton and the Angels.
The University of Georgia: The University of Georgia Press, 1955.
Robert H. West s Milton and the Angels consists of ten chapters which are divided into two main
sections. The first half of the book expounds upon the history of the study of angels in the Western
hemisphere and then in England specifically. The second half of the book examines the titular
subject of John Milton s propositions on angels. The final chapter of the work, reiterates and
summarizes all nine previous chapters to reveal their larger purpose and significance within the
book itself and within Milton s entire career. Through the structure, West outlines that he tried to

While each of the different traditions had very different beliefs on the details of angelology, such as
the exemplified Catholic and Protestant differences, each agreed upon the necessity of angelology,
which West reveals through the words of John Calvin. Beyond the question of the rank, West
expounds upon controversies about the nature, purpose, substance, ability, activity, and humanity of
angels throughout every age of history from the Greek and Roman empires to Milton s seventeenth
century England to both contextualize the book s subject for readers and to illuminate the
significance and depth behind John Milton s own literary representation of angels.
In chapters six and seven, West introduces Milton s angelology and examines the choices he makes
throughout his literature to maintain a specific representation of the angels and other supernatural
subjects. Specifically, West identifies three problems Milton had to overcome in writing Paradise
Lost, which involved balancing the need for literary description with the strict, biblical
interpretation of angels hailed in Puritanism, deciding which opinions on angelology could be used
to truthfully deduce the needed level of description, and broadly,

William Wilde s The Importance Of Being Earnest Essay
Humor in Wilde s The Importance of Being Earnest. During the Victorian times, being proper,
rich is very important. Having the right manners, reading the right things, marry the right
person. Is big during this time period. They only talk about certain things in good company.
They live on the right block, having the right clothing is very important. In Wilde Importance of
being Earnest in the first scene there was humor in there. Algernon was stuffing his face. Wilde
likes to make fun of all Victorians from the upper classes. He make fun of their class values,
makes refers to men liking men, and he even uses landmarks that are familiar to the upper
classes. Jack and Algernon have a double life or living life through masks. We know Algernon is
from the upper classes. People think self gratification can be a powerful tool against the
Victorian values of duty/virtue (Summary and Analysis Act I: Part 1). Whenever they talk
about food, they refer to lust. They will never talk about it in polite society. Society never cares
about substance but instead reveres style and triviality (Summary and Analysis Act I: Part 1).
Wilde is saying Victorian s society they don t know the difference between trivial subjects and
affairs of life. Jack is only accepted in the upper class, because of the Cardew s fortune. He
knows all the rules, the manners of the upper class. Many people from this era love to use the

The Effect Of Sonic Logs On The Petroleum Industry And The...
Logging is a method which has been used over a period of time to better understand subsurface
parameters and reservoir conditions. The Acoustic or Sonic log is one such method which is used
in combination with density and neutron logs in order to determine these parameters. Full
waveform acoustic logging has advanced significantly in both theory and application in recent
years, and these advances have greatly increased the capability of log analysts to measure the
physical properties of formations (Paillet et al 1992). This report focuses on the basic application
of sonic logs in the petroleumindustry and the current advances made in their application. It is also
explained how porosity of the rocks are obtained from shaly formations using sonic logs.
The principle of sonic logging involves a transmitter and a receiver wherein a signal is sent from
the transmitter and the amount of time taken until it has reached the receiver is recorded. The
speed of sound in the subsurface depends on the elastic properties of the rock matrix, the porosity
of the formations, fluid content and pressure of the formation (Petroleum Transactions, Members
AIME 1958). Sonic logging is carried out after the well has been drilled. Background: History of

Third Grade Classroom Observation
For my observation, I observed a first to third grade special day class at a public Fresno Unified
School District classroom in Fresno, California. When I first entered the classroom all the students,
approximately 10 students, were sitting down on the rug in front of the class as the teacher was
reading a short story to them. When she finished they would go over their reading assignment.
For the first half an hour, I could see that the students in the back had a difficult time sitting still in
the crisscross position on the rug. One student would frequently stand up on his knees, lie down on
the rug, or spin himself in a circle. During this time I noticed that most of the students who also sat
in the back row on the rug was talking to their peers, while one student stayed quiet and entertained
himself with hyperactivity movements, sucking on his thumb, or playing with his shoelaces. When
the teacher finishes her explanation of the butterfly life cycle, a student quietly raised his hand and
asks her if he would be able to create a human life cycle instead.
I chose to observe a young Caucasian male student, around seven or eight years old. I also do not

Virtue Ethics And The Moral Life
Virtue ethics is concerned with the traits of character that make one a good person. Virtue ethics
seems to be more personal because it is not about choosing which side of an issue one would
prefer to take part in, but the kind of person one wants to be. A virtuous person is considered to be
a morally good person, and virtues are good traits. For virtueethics, the moral life is about
developing good character. Aristotle was one of the earliest writers to ground morality in nature,
and specifically in human nature. For Aristotle, virtue was an excellence of some sort. According
to Aristotle, there are two types of virtues: intellectual virtues and moral virtues. Intellectual
virtues are excellences of the mind, such as the ability to understand, reason, and judge well.
These traits can be learned from teachers. Moral virtues on the other hand, dispose us to act well.
These virtues cannot be taught, and they are learned by repetition. Aristotle s list of virtues
includes courage, temperance, justice, pride, and magnanimity. However Aristotle is probably
most well known for his position that virtue is a mean between extremes. For example courage is
to be understood as a mean between the two extremes of deficiency and excess. Too little courage
is cowardice, and too much is foolhardiness. When we concern ourselves with virtue ethicsI don t
think that there are any virtues that can be universalized because the character traits apply mainly
to individuals. Some may say that

The Legend Of Turnus By Aeneas Summary
Deadly Resurrection
As Aeneas stood over the corpse of Turnus, his conscience was split in two. Half of his mind
rejoiced with the death of such a malicious man who had caused so much strife. The other half
lurched at the sight of bloodshed. Aeneas sighed with confusion as he slowly walked away from
the scene. Unlike most of his countrymen, he would never become comfortable with taking life,
even if it were for a just cause. While engaged in such controversial thoughts, his guard relaxed and
his gaze flitted about inattentively. With his mind elsewhere, Aeneasfailed to notice the wind
picking up speed at an alarming pace. Sand was flying about all around him, compromising his
vision. Suddenly, through the howling of the wind, Aeneas heard the words I will be back .

Fireworks Hyperbole Analysis
Hyperbole Throughout my song Fireworks , the literacy device Hyperbole meaning excessive
over exaggeration has come up mid way throughout my song when the artist states Do you ever
feel already buried deep six feet under? Screams but no one seems to hear a thing . This
demonstrates a sign of Hyperbole because the artist is showing the emotions she possess when
no one is around to listen to what she has to say, causing her to act as if she were dead, buried
underground which is just another way of feeling as if no one is there for you. But since the
artist described her emotions as being trapped underground, she has simply overemphasized her
emotions to produce a greater effect because when an individual feels as if no one seems to hear
a word they say, they often feel lost and it may feel as if you are trapped underground but in
reality you re not and being trapped underground feels much worse. This literacy device adds
significance to the song as it... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Impact Of Transformative And Social Constructive...
Nursing education is designed to offer students the opportunity to become practitioners who are
able to connect theories into practice in ways that result in quality patient care. Consequently,
Nurse Educators are faced with the challenge of preparing students for the role of the graduate
nurse, including not only the theoretical foundations of practice but the technical skills and
performance behaviors necessary for their role in caring for patients with complex needs (Klein,
2006). Moreover, educators often apply a variety of learningtheories that foster behavioral change,
motivate and empower the nurse to form appropriate partnership with patients to promote quality
care. Partnership in care shifts the focus to the patient as the expert and leader of his/her own
health care while the nurse acts as a facilitator of health care. The purpose of this paper is to
critically analyze how the application of transformative and social constructive learning theories
impacts adult learning outcomes; and the resultant role in guiding nurses and patients to forge an
effective partnership in care.

How Does the Surface Area to Volume Ratio Affect Heat Loss...

Background: As heat is a form of thermal energy, they tend to have the behavior of reaching a
thermal equilibrium. This means that when two bodies of different temperatures come in contact
with each other, the hotter ones will transfer heat particles to the body with a colder temperature,
with an aim to reach this thermal equilibrium , whatever the temperature may be. The larger the
surface area, means there can be more paths from the sides of the body that are capable of
releasing this heat particles, and reaching thermal equilibrium faster. This is what happens when a
hotter body is subjected to a colder one.

temperatures, every ten seconds for one samples all the way to three minutes. From the data
observed, the average rate of heat loss can be derived. This is done by taking the initial and final
temperature and dividing them by the number of seconds (18x as the total number of seconds is
180 and interval of 10 secs).
Controlled: Initial temperature, type of insulation, type of flasks, room temperature, time.
1. We ve decided 77вЃ°C as our initial temperature for every trial. We ve kept the initial
temperature equal for each trial as this would give us fair and reliable results. If the initial
temperatures were kept different, therefore the data provided will be somewhat unreliable. This is
also because as the temperatures are higher, the rate of heat loss would be faster, as compared to
when the initial temperatures are lower. This would again support the unreliability of the data we
would observe.
2. The type of insulation that we ve chosen is the cotton, approximately with the same thickness
for each flask. They will be changed for every trial, because for each trial, as the heat escapes from
the sides of the flask in the form of water vapor, it comes in contact with the cotton, thus making it
moist, and changes the capacity of the cotton to insulate. We have decided to

Introduction
Many people today have their thoughts on how the Earth was created. Christians take a biblical
perspective of how the universe was created by a creator. One thought that Christians believe is
that God created the earth and accomplished this in six days and rested on the seventh day. This is
the model of how a week is set up and the model that we currently follow. Jon W. Green states
though differences of opinion exist for various doctrinal issues within Christianity, few are more
divisive than controversies surrounding the days of creation and the age of the Earth. As stated
previously many people have thoughts and are curious as to how the Earth itself came into
existence. When it comes to the scientific community there ... Show more content on

(Morris, 2011) This word translates to mean a literal day and is used in Genesis to describe each

including the Old Testament. In regards to the age of the Earth, young earth creationist take
Genesis 5 as a genealogy of the Earth. The genealogies of Genesis 5 as well as 11 give people an
idea of the years and happenings from Adam to Abraham. Scholars can mostly agree that Abraham

Diabetes And Its Effects On Diabetes
Diabetes is caused when a person s blood sugar level becomes too high. This is often described
as a lifelong condition. There are two types of Diabetes within the UK; Type 1 Diabetes, where
the body s immune system attacks and destroys the cells that the body uses to produce insulin.
This can develop over weeks or even days. Type 2 Diabetes occurs when the body doesn t produce
enough insulinor the body s cells do not react to insulin. Type 2 diabetes is far more common than
type 1. Many people can suffer from type 2 Diabetes for many years without realising due to
symptoms being so broad. Many people have blood sugarlevels above the normal rate. This
suggests that there is a risk of developing full diabetes in the future. However, sometimes it is not
high enough to be diagnosed as having diabetes. This is known as pre diabetes. It is extremely
important to diagnosis diabetes as soon as possible as it progressively gets worse over time if it s
not treated (NHS.UK, 2016). There are many risk factors that can have the likelihood impact on
developing diabetes, such as in males or females, food preferences, pregnancy, obesity, genetics,
damaging effects and race and ethnicity. These risk factors and their trends will be discussed in
depth later in this essay.
It is very important to the detect diabetes from early stage as high glucose levels can damage the
blood vessels, nerves and organs within the body. Mildly raised glucose levels which don t cause
any symptoms can have

Essay on How To Write Using the APA Writing Style
The APA writing style is most commonly used to cite sources for psychology, education, and social
sciences and is also the official writing style of the American Psychological Association. The
General APA Organizational Guidelines are basic guidelines that explain how to write a research
paper in the APA format. These guidelines ensure clear and consistent presentation of written
material that differentiates from other writing styles because it concerns elements such as:
Citations, punctuation, presentation of numbers, etc There are four major sections in an APA
paper. They consist of the title page, abstract, main body, and references. The title page of an APA

The body of an APA paper Come back to. A literature review is a type of APA paper that
summarizes a scientific text about ones topic or question. A literature review focuses on a specific
topic of interest and includes a critical analysis where one would compare different literature that
relates to the subject of one s own work. It normally includes a title page, introduction section, and
a list of references. Many confuse a literature review with an annotated bibliography, but the
difference between a literature review and an annotated bibliography is that an annotated
bibliography only summarizes briefly about an article that one viewed while an annotated
bibliography focuses specifically on a topic. An experimental report, also know as lab reports is put
shortly, a story of ones research where someone would guide a reader through their experiment.
Though this story, one would have to argue that their research is both valid and reliable, the
meaning of their research, and how it relates to work that was previously written. An experimental
report normally follows the scientific method and should include these following sections: Title
page, abstract, introduction, method, results, discussion, references, appendixes (if necessary), and
table or figures (if necessary).
Because an APA paper should be as formal and scientific as possible, gender terms should not be
used when they are not necessary. For example, the APA

Soccer Team-Personal Narrative
Well, this is it. Today is the day where I finally try out for my school s soccer team. This morning
i woke up startled by the enormously loud sound of an alarm on my friend s phone. His name
was Bailey Ivester. I ve known him since 6th grade year. Boy is he annoying sometimes. Most of
the time he acts like he is the top dog or the best of the best . He stayed over at my house the day
before, we were both supposed to try out for the soccer team. To be honest. He really wasn t that
good at it. Like i said, he thought he was the best of the best . After we woke up Bailey and i ate
breakfast that my motherhad prepared. It was so delicious and very specific. She had made my
favorite chocolate chip pancakes, applewood smoked bacon, cheesy... Show more content on

We were going against Lexington high school. While we walked onto the field examined the
other team. I had a lot of confidence in myself and tried to hype up my team and gave my team
an inspiring speech when we all came together to form a circle. Next we all walked onto the field
into our positions, i was starting. I was the left forward position. Forwards in soccer are the most
difficult position on the field because that was the position where your suppose to score most of the
points and control the offense. I was always a forward because coach said i had a lot of speed,
agility, and good footwork. At this time the game had started, we had the ball first i passed it to the
other forward on our team. His name was Jimmy, he was the most aggressive forward on our team.
He was a great forward. At this time it was near the end of the game. The score was 3 6 we were
losing terribly. Everybody on our team was tired and bummed out and lost hope. We were all tired
of losing all the time. I saw the emptiness in everyone s eyes. I felt sad as well. While i was running
on the field i heard our goalkeeper named Matias yell out GRAYSON !!. I turned around fast and
forgot everything else. I saw Matias lob the ball down the other side of the field to where i was
running. My eyes were all on that ball, i saw it flying in the air then falling towards me while i
ran as fast as i could to catch up to it. A voice in my head just kept saying, just go for it! . So i
waited at the right moment to where the ball was perfectly positioned to where i was able to
header the ball into the goal. Finally it was that time, i lunged into the air as high as i could, as
soon as i tried to header the ball into the goal in mid air. One of the players on the opponent s
team came out of nowhere!! He was so fast, i don t know where he came from. While i was still
in the air he had jumped towards me to get the ball as well. At this time he had

Impact On Andy Warhol
Andy Warhol was a mastermind artist. Many are drawn to his work. He created and led the
movement called pop art. He became a controversial artist because of this. Warhol changed the
way people saw art and created an artistic revolution. Andrew Warhol was often sick. He had a
nervous system disease called chorea, which only got worse after he became a hypochondriac
(scared of doctors and hospitals). This had a great impact on Warhol because he was bedridden and
missed a lot of school. He spent much of his time at home collecting pictures of famous movie stars
and listening to the radio. Although Warhol s sickness had negative effects on him, this is what
molded him into the artist that he became. Warhol kick started his career after he attended

Hard Night at the Bar

Brenda Klein was not your average woman. In fact, she wasn t really a woman at all. Well, she
was half a woman, she thought to herself. Brenda was the latest in a long line of wolf shifters,
and as such she had the power to change into any wolf at the drop of a hat. She was not a
werewolf by any means. Werewolves could not control who or what they were. Every full moon
they were forced into being a mindless, horny, manic creature. She was a wolf shifter, who could
control her power to change into a wolf. Her and her kind would use their powers to keep
werewolves away from innocent humans. It was a full time job, and Brenda loved it. She loved

She was a hot woman; it was not hard for her to find a good lay. She was tall, with long legs. Her
body was tan, and toned to perfection. She had long wavy brown hair perfect for grabbing from
behind, and striking sapphire blue eyes. She was a damn catch, and she knew it. She knew that
the bartender was just as attracted to her as she was to him. His stunning emerald green eyes
were glazed with desire, he might as well be drooling. She loved having that power over men.
Although she could not be pretended that she wasn t just as turned on by him. He had shoulder
length black hair that was simply begging for her to run her hands through. He wore a tight black
tank top that emphasized his massive pecs and delicious abs. She licked her lips as she watched
his firm ass walk to the other end of the bar in his well fitting jeans. She wouldn t let him fall
through her fingers tonight. Can I help you? he asked as he walked back to her end of the bar. I
hope you, she said, looking his body up and down, sucking her finger into her mouth. Give me a
whiskey on the rocks, she ordered, leaning her chest onto the bar, exposing her ample cleavage.
What s your name, sexy? she asked. Right away, he said as he made her drink, staring at her chest
the entire time. My name is Blake. And what s your name? My name is Brenda, she said, subtly

Psychedelic Rock In The 1960s
The birth of the psychedelic, or as it was sometimes known, acid rock genre was the result of an
attempt to sonically stimulate the distorted perceptions experienced while under the influence of
hallucinogenic drugs such as mescaline, psilocybin and LSD. The term psychedelic had begun to
be applied to a few bands already in the early 1960s, with the Grateful Deadmaking their record
debut in the spring of 1967. By 1966, garage bands were exposed to the first media coverage of
LSD and, in some cases, may have had a band member who actually used LSD. Soon their song
lyrics moved from passing references to more vivid descriptions of psychedelic experience
(Johnson Stax, 2006, p.414). It was LSD which would have the greatest influence on... Show more

However, where bands like Led Zeppelin or Steppenwolf were clearly much more heavily blues
influenced in their sound, Iron Butterfly s was heavily tinged with a drug induced sonic flare
which was elemental in their track In A Gadda Da Vida . As musicologist, rock musician, and
author Julian Cope so eloquently put it, the music they unleashed was grounded for much of the
time by a slothful sludge ladled out over a super slowed beat more indicative of the overworked
laboriousness of the band members...rather than being the result of some chemically induced torpor

James Madison Biography
Like his close friend Thomas Jefferson, James Madison came from a prosperous family of Virginia
planters, received an excellent education, and studied law В–though only informallyВ— and
quickly found himself drawn into the debates over independence. In 1776, he became a delegate to
the revolutionary Virginia Convention, where he worked closely with Thomas Jeffersonto push
through religious freedom statutes, among other liberal measures. The youngest member of the
Continental Congress, Madison was of smaller than average height for a Virginian of the period;
reports have him standing either five feet four or five feet six inches tall. His soft spoken, shy
demeanor was a foil for his brilliant persistence in advocating his political... Show more content on

The War of 1812 amounted to a second war of independence for the new Republic and helped to
unify the President s party. Much of the War of 1812 centered on bloody battles against the Native
American tribes, who were aided by the British. In 1814, the British took the nation s new capital,
torching the White House and other federal buildings. They were finally defeated at the epic Battle
of New Orleans by General Andrew Jackson s ragtag army, many of whom were volunteers,
including free blacks and slaves and nearly 1,000 French pirates. Although Madison escaped
capture, the victories against Tecumseh and at New Orleans revitalized the nation and earned him
the esteem of his constituents. Madison s critics, who organized the Hartford Convention to protest
his policies, looked like traitors to the victorious nation, and their anti war criticism further
weakened the Federalist Party.Everyone was shocked when the shy and reticent James Madison
announced his marriage to the vivacious Dolley Payne Todd, who became one of the most
popular and vibrant first ladies ever to grace the White House. Dolley Madison was already
familiar with her role in Washington since she had occasionally played the role of hostess during
the Jefferson administration. A beautiful woman who liked to party and to show off her impressive
figure, Dolley Madison quickly earned a reputation among conservatives and political enemies, who
criticized her

Rap Hop And Hip Hop Culture
Most hip hop songs and videos have lyrics and scenes that demean and humiliate women.
Showing scenes of violence to women, demeaning them and depicting them as sex objects or
subjects of submission to men is Misogyny. Present also is brutality against women descriptions.
There have been voluminous scholars talking about it yet the argument is unquenched. Misogyny
in hip hop society has its core deep in the American ethos, and it has its outcome on the same
nation. Misogyny in songs is taking ring on young persons, and it is swiftly touching the young
females in the black civilization. The effects of Misogyny in hip hop culture, losses weight with
as the age of listener s advances. Misogyny in hip hop culture is not something that is ending, yet
it may fade with time. The chances of it fading are not certain but with the current trend, hip hop
artists may realize it does not do much good as bad. This essay will discuss the power following
Misogyny in hip hop culture, the outcomes it has on the audience and the future of Misogyny in hip
hop. McFarland 2003 argues that the origin of Misogyny in music, not only in hip hop is the
society and culture it has for so long endeared. Normally, people in America have valued the boy
child, to endowing men as adults (McFarland, 102). At the same time, they have considered women
as subjects to men who should show total submission. This argument has found many backups, with
scholars and authors arguing that the American culture is the force

Evidence-Based Training for Physical Therapists
Strategies to facilitate the implementation of evidence based physical therapy should emphasis on
amending the barriers known in previous studies and confirmed in the future study. Certain
solutions may be easy, such as improving access to journals, providing easily understandable
summaries and training therapists in searching and appraisal (Iles Davidson 2006).
A current systematic review (Coomarasamy Khan 2005) recommends that clinically integrated
evidence based practice training is more effective than training alone. Education should be
designed towards proficient use of online resources, aiming sources of pre appraised literature (Iles
Davidson 2006).
Physical therapists must regularly involve in self reflection and appraisal to be clear about the
nature and contribution of their expertise and decisions. This practice encompasses an
acknowledgement of practice preferences and behaviors that have developed throughout the years,
knowledge gaps that benefited from further training or education, enable the changing barriers in
their approach to client management (Jewell 2011). For the moment, evidence must be located and
evaluated and its findings interpreted into expressive information that all spouses in the decision
making process can appreciate (American Physical Therapy Association 2001). This incorporation
process may be emphasizing minimized bias on high quality evidence. Subsequently, both clinicians
and clients increase the subjectivity in their decision

Greco Buddhist art is characterized by the apparent idealistic realism and in depth portrayal of Hellenistic art. Representations of the Buddha alongside traditional Greek deities have helped outline the artistic canon for Buddhist art throughout Asia up to the present. Additionally, it is also a strong example of cultural syncretism between eastern and western civilizations and how the combination of the two cultures can redefine ideas of divinity. Although both Herakles and Vajrapani are independent in tradition, blending them together creates a new understanding of the ties between Greco Buddhism and how symbolism can be carried throughout different cultures. As a syncretic combination of Western borrowing in concept and iconography, the protector function of Vajrapani rendered the character distinctively qualified to the personification of Herakles. Interpretations seen throughout currency and sculpture made an undeniable impact and served as the forefront of Greco Guddhism as a canon of art. Additionally, the knowledge of Herakles as a military valor and as a symbol of strength was apparent across cultures; making it nearly impossible to deny how the Heraklean interpretation of Vajrapani served as a cohesive force in forming Greco Buddhism as an artistic movement. Nontheless, the analogous function of the two deities had much impact on Vajrapani being distinctively remembered as Heraklean in nature, a form derided by western classical art. Again, much like Momaday s work, the plots are episodic the different stories are interconnected and feed into one another, but are capable of standing alone withy their own plots. Erdrich makes heavy use of the characters themselves to advance the plot for each episode, and in inter relation between each episode., whereas Momaday relies more on past story as a guide to present context. Characterization is the strength of Love Medicine. The humorous, but tragic, exploits of eccentric characters are extremely vivid in her story, and force a constant chnage of viewpoint for the reader as more aspects of characters are revealed. Many of these agreements contain a mechanism called Investor State Dispute Settlement (ISDS), which allows a foreign investor to invoke arbitration against the host governmentfor the breach of certain investor protections (Sapiro, 2015). For example, Chelsea Manning, also known as Bradley Manning, who has been released from prison after receiving a pardon from Former President Barack Obama. Manning was placed in a prison barracks at Fort Leavenworth in Kansas serving a 35 year sentence for WikiLeaks of classified United States military documents (The New York Times) While she has been issued a pardon, there have been several issues that have led her to that pardon. Due to storms, natural processes of sand movement and development, the beaches of South Carolina, specifically the Grand Strand beaches and local beaches of Sullivan s Island and Folly Beach, are eroding at a rapid rate. Erosion is a natural process effected by sea level rise, storms and currents and many techniques have been used in the past to combat erosion issues that threaten to wash away beaches and homes in the process. Sea level rise is also a significant factor of erosion because as the sea level has risen over time, beaches and barrier islands have moved, transporting sand in the process. Sea level rise is a long term process of coastal transformation as sand is steadily removed from beaches and barrier islands and transported to other areas, creating less protection for beaches and estuaries. As sea level rise continues to increase along the South Carolina coast, erosion by coastal flooding will become an even greater problem (United States 1.1). One study on the correlation between sea level rise and erosion concluded that sea level rise does increase erosion rates if nothing else due to the fact that rising sea level enables high energy waves to reach farther up the beach and redistribute sand offshore (Leatherman 55). Human activity through construction also has a negative effect on beaches and erosion, for example the building of structures such as seawalls, jetties and groins have negatively effected the movement of sand, thus not allowing the proper amount of sand to reach the beaches and barrier islands to replace the moving sand due to other factors (United States 1.1). This argument is saying that the Romans were more powerful than the Han Empire based on its military system. This will be coming from the Han s prospective from 206 B.C to 220 B.C. Also talking from the Roman Empire s point of view from14 C.E to 330 C.E. There will be similarities in this paper but mostly differences because these are two totally different cultures. The reason for picking the Romans is because the Han s constantly deployed soldiers year round, even getting soldiers that we not Chinese that lived on the border. Having the advantage of speed and size the Han s had the advantage of taking over all of China. The ability of having these advantages of speed and size gives the Han military of taking over the feudal power structure of other Chinese states.2 But the Roman empire their cavalry would be arranged in columns which will cover more space. The general will also assign his lightened armed troops which were javelin throwers, bowman, and slingers in the front. Comstock/Stockbyte/Getty Images With its six petaled flowers that range in color from yellow, white and pink to blue, red and purple, iris (Iris spp.) can be an attractive addition in the garden. Iris consists of more than 200 species, many of which are hardy to U.S. Department of Agriculture plant hardiness zone 3. Siberian iris (Iris sibirica) and crested iris (Iris cristata), for instance, can thrive in USDA plant hardiness zones 3 through 9. (See References 1) Although commonly grown true to type by division, irises can also grow from seed, although they don t grow true to the parent plant. (See References 2) Step 1 Harvest the seedpods from an iris plant after it s done blooming in the fall. If pollinated, find the pods on the plant below faded flowers. Remove them from the plant when they are partially green and start to split open. Shell the pods to reveal about 60 seeds per pod. (See References 3) Step 2 Fill a small bowl with enough water to submerse the seeds. Place the seeds in the bowl and allow them to soak. Every day, drain the liquid, pouring it in a strainer so you catch the seeds. Refill the bowl with fresh water and place the seeds back in it. Do this for up to two weeks to eliminate the germination inhibiting properties of the seeds. (See References 4) Step 3 Mix 1 part bleach with 10 parts water in a bowl. • 18. Analysis Of William Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet Introduction What s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell just as sweet. This quote from Shakespeare is from the balcony scene when Juliet tells Romeo that his name is meaningless and that he is still a handsome young man and that only their family names are enemies. This same quote can be applied in today s society in how people address each other based on different situations, especially when addressing women. There are many different titles that can be used to address women as opposed to men, but despite the title used, the womanherself does not change. Only the meaning and stereotype associated with the title used changes. Throughout the years, the titles used to address women have slowly shifted meaning from that of a social status to that of a marital status. Erickson (2014) explains that the titles Miss and Mrs. are the oldest coined terms used to address women, and both of them derive from the title Mistress. Both titles were generally only used for those of higher power and status. Miss described young girls while Mrs. , described women who had governed subjects, was skilled, or who taught. Upon reaching adulthood, a Miss became a Mrs. , and according to the Oxford English Dictionary, it was common for older, unmarried women to still use the title Mrs. so they could increase their standing to be on par with married women. This was why sometimes this referred to as a title of politeness or courtesy title. But by the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Logging is a method which has been used over a period of time to better understand subsurface parameters and reservoir conditions. The Acoustic or Sonic log is one such method which is used in combination with density and neutron logs in order to determine these parameters. Full waveform acoustic logging has advanced significantly in both theory and application in recent years, and these advances have greatly increased the capability of log analysts to measure the physical properties of formations (Paillet et al 1992). This report focuses on the basic application of sonic logs in the petroleumindustry and the current advances made in their application. It is also explained how porosity of the rocks are obtained from shaly formations using sonic logs. The principle of sonic logging involves a transmitter and a receiver wherein a signal is sent from the transmitter and the amount of time taken until it has reached the receiver is recorded. The speed of sound in the subsurface depends on the elastic properties of the rock matrix, the porosity of the formations, fluid content and pressure of the formation (Petroleum Transactions, Members AIME 1958). Sonic logging is carried out after the well has been drilled. When I first entered the classroom all the students, approximately 10 students, were sitting down on the rug in front of the class as the teacher was reading a short story to them. • 26. Virtue Ethics And The Moral Life Virtue ethics is concerned with the traits of character that make one a good person. Virtue ethics seems to be more personal because it is not about choosing which side of an issue one would prefer to take part in, but the kind of person one wants to be. A virtuous person is considered to be a morally good person, and virtues are good traits. For virtueethics, the moral life is about developing good character. Aristotle was one of the earliest writers to ground morality in nature, and specifically in human nature. For Aristotle, virtue was an excellence of some sort. According to Aristotle, there are two types of virtues: intellectual virtues and moral virtues. Intellectual virtues are excellences of the mind, such as the ability to understand, reason, and judge well. These traits can be learned from teachers. Moral virtues on the other hand, dispose us to act well. These virtues cannot be taught, and they are learned by repetition. Aristotle s list of virtues includes courage, temperance, justice, pride, and magnanimity. However Aristotle is probably most well known for his position that virtue is a mean between extremes. For example courage is to be understood as a mean between the two extremes of deficiency and excess. Too little courage is cowardice, and too much is foolhardiness. When we concern ourselves with virtue ethicsI don t think that there are any virtues that can be universalized because the character traits apply mainly to individuals. Some may say that ... Nursing education is designed to offer students the opportunity to become practitioners who are able to connect theories into practice in ways that result in quality patient care. Consequently, Nurse Educators are faced with the challenge of preparing students for the role of the graduate nurse, including not only the theoretical foundations of practice but the technical skills and performance behaviors necessary for their role in caring for patients with complex needs (Klein, 2006). Moreover, educators often apply a variety of learningtheories that foster behavioral change, motivate and empower the nurse to form appropriate partnership with patients to promote quality care. Partnership in care shifts the focus to the patient as the expert and leader of his/her own health care while the nurse acts as a facilitator of health care. The purpose of this paper is to critically analyze how the application of transformative and social constructive learning theories impacts adult learning outcomes; and the resultant role in guiding nurses and patients to forge an effective partnership in care. Transformative Learning Theory Jack Mezirow is credited for developing transformative learning theory. • 41. Diabetes And Its Effects On Diabetes Diabetes is caused when a person s blood sugar level becomes too high. This is often described as a lifelong condition. There are two types of Diabetes within the UK; Type 1 Diabetes, where the body s immune system attacks and destroys the cells that the body uses to produce insulin. This can develop over weeks or even days. Type 2 Diabetes occurs when the body doesn t produce enough insulinor the body s cells do not react to insulin. Type 2 diabetes is far more common than type 1. Many people can suffer from type 2 Diabetes for many years without realising due to symptoms being so broad. Many people have blood sugarlevels above the normal rate. This suggests that there is a risk of developing full diabetes in the future. However, sometimes it is not high enough to be diagnosed as having diabetes. This is known as pre diabetes. It is extremely important to diagnosis diabetes as soon as possible as it progressively gets worse over time if it s not treated (NHS.UK, 2016). There are many risk factors that can have the likelihood impact on developing diabetes, such as in males or females, food preferences, pregnancy, obesity, genetics, damaging effects and race and ethnicity. These risk factors and their trends will be discussed in depth later in this essay. It is very important to the detect diabetes from early stage as high glucose levels can damage the blood vessels, nerves and organs within the body. A literature review focuses on a specific topic of interest and includes a critical analysis where one would compare different literature that relates to the subject of one s own work. It normally includes a title page, introduction section, and a list of references. Many confuse a literature review with an annotated bibliography, but the difference between a literature review and an annotated bibliography is that an annotated bibliography only summarizes briefly about an article that one viewed while an annotated bibliography focuses specifically on a topic. An experimental report, also know as lab reports is put shortly, a story of ones research where someone would guide a reader through their experiment. Though this story, one would have to argue that their research is both valid and reliable, the meaning of their research, and how it relates to work that was previously written. An experimental report normally follows the scientific method and should include these following sections: Title page, abstract, introduction, method, results, discussion, references, appendixes (if necessary), and table or figures (if necessary). Because an APA paper should be as formal and scientific as possible, gender terms should not be used when they are not necessary. For example, the APA ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Psychedelic Rock In The 1960s The birth of the psychedelic, or as it was sometimes known, acid rock genre was the result of an attempt to sonically stimulate the distorted perceptions experienced while under the influence of hallucinogenic drugs such as mescaline, psilocybin and LSD. The term psychedelic had begun to be applied to a few bands already in the early 1960s, with the Grateful Deadmaking their record debut in the spring of 1967. By 1966, garage bands were exposed to the first media coverage of LSD and, in some cases, may have had a band member who actually used LSD. Soon their song lyrics moved from passing references to more vivid descriptions of psychedelic experience (Johnson Stax, 2006, p.414). It was LSD which would have the greatest influence on... Much of the War of 1812 centered on bloody battles against the Native American tribes, who were aided by the British. In 1814, the British took the nation s new capital, torching the White House and other federal buildings. They were finally defeated at the epic Battle of New Orleans by General Andrew Jackson s ragtag army, many of whom were volunteers, including free blacks and slaves and nearly 1,000 French pirates. Although Madison escaped capture, the victories against Tecumseh and at New Orleans revitalized the nation and earned him the esteem of his constituents. Showing scenes of violence to women, demeaning them and depicting them as sex objects or subjects of submission to men is Misogyny. Present also is brutality against women descriptions. There have been voluminous scholars talking about it yet the argument is unquenched. Misogyny in hip hop society has its core deep in the American ethos, and it has its outcome on the same nation. Misogyny in songs is taking ring on young persons, and it is swiftly touching the young females in the black civilization. The effects of Misogyny in hip hop culture, losses weight with as the age of listener s advances. Misogyny in hip hop culture is not something that is ending, yet it may fade with time. The chances of it fading are not certain but with the current trend, hip hop artists may realize it does not do much good as bad. McFarland 2003 argues that the origin of Misogyny in music, not only in hip hop is the society and culture it has for so long endeared. Normally, people in America have valued the boy child, to endowing men as adults (McFarland, 102). At the same time, they have considered women as subjects to men who should show total submission.
