John Locke s First Treatise Of Government
In John Locke s Second Treatise of Government, he brings up the idea of property, which he defines
as one of the Natural Rights that a person has. To Locke, he explains how property is something given
from God. He also explains how the people should have a right to property in the State of Nature as
well as in Political Society. Locke also recognizes that there are limitations to the amount of property
available and takes note of this in his text. Lastly, he finds a kind of solution to the limitations in the
forms of a money economy and Political Society. This thesis will argue that property is the main
concept in the creation of all of Locke s political thought, since he bases a large amount of emphasis
on how important it is, while also focusing on the common good and how the people are the ones that
should make changes. To fully understand what Locke is claiming, the idea of Natural Rights must
first be defined. In the Second Treatise, these rights are those that everyone is born with, in the State
of Nature. The State of Nature, which is a place of perfect freedom, a man is naturally equal,
reasonable, and free. This state is also protected by the Law of Nature which enforces that all [are]
equal and independent, no one ought to harm another in his Life, Health, Liberty, or Possessions (6.9).
The rights of men are protected under the Law of Nature. Locke repeats these rights many times
throughout his text, and elaborates more on each time. For example, in the later

Disparities In The Disturbing Labor Market
From 1950 to 2018, there are very little changes in the disturbing labor market, in fact, today trends
have stopped flowing and the wage gap between races may be the most disheartening. Moreover, the
gap economics and wages have become even more disparity. Right after World War II, many
Americans were encouraged by the steady and significant economic progress, including for Blacks. In
1950, many big factories just start up and need workers So, many African American were offered the
steady wages with higher than the pay earned by there parents. But, still, under Jim Crow, African
Americans were relegated to the status of second class citizens. African Americans were not allowed

Why Did Gondwana Occur In Australia
As it is the oldest of the continents, Australia is often referred to as an ancient land. However, it didn t
always have its current shape, as it was once a part of a super continent called Pangaea. This was until
it separated and drifted across the Earth s surface, causing a variety of climate changes and other
geological events.
Around 300 million years ago, Pangea existed during the late Paleozoic and early Mesozoic eras and
approximately 120 million years ago, Pangea split into two smaller sections called Gondwana and
Laurasia. Gondwana formed prior to Pangea , and later on became part of it. However, after the break
up of Pangaea, Gondwana possessed most of the regions in today s Southern Hemisphere, including
Australia, Africa, Antarctica and South America. Similarly, around 180 million years ago, Gondwana
also began to split up. Africa and South America beginning to drift away, leaving just India,
Madagascar, Antarctica and Australia and about 40 million years later, India and Madagascar broke
off. Leaving just Antarctica and Australia. Correspondingly, approximately 85 million years ago
Australia separated from Antarctica, finally becoming its own continent. ... Show more content on

Bilateral Review System Analysis
Bilateral review systems are ultimately unreliable. Many customers are forced to say positive, but not
necessarily true, traits about themselves or hotels and are usually rated by companies unfairly. For
Uber, customers are rated on their behavior, but there are no real standards suggesting what is meant
by good, bad, or mediocre behavior. It is purely up to the designation of the driver, which can be more
opinionated than factual. Thus, it is not a surprise when a passenger feels perplexed to find out his or
her passenger score has been lowered even if the passenger did everything in his or her power to leave
a lasting impression on the driver.
This then puts an overwhelming amount of pressure people to write a review about themselves, which

Advantage And Disadvantages Of Sunscreens
i) Sunscreen products:
What are sunscreens?
Sunscreens are products that combine multiple ingredients that help prevent the sun s ultraviolet (UV)
radiation from reaching the skin. Understanding UV radiation:
UV radiation is an electromagnetic radiation that reaches the earth from the sun. It is classified into
UVA, UVB and UVC according to their wavelength. UVC is usually absorbed by the ozone layer not
penetrating to earth while UVA and UVB penetrate the ozone layer and play an important role in skin
photo aging, sun burns and skin cancer. Most of the UVB IS filtered by the atmosphere. UVB can only
cause damage to the epidermal layers as it cannot perpetrate beyond the superficial skin layers. UVB
is responsible chiefly for skins reddening ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So the sunburn protection increases by increasing the SPF value. There is a misconception stating that
SPF is related to time of solar exposure not to the amount which is not true. Although solar energy
amount and solar exposure time are related, other factors impact the amount as an example the
intensity. (A 9:00a.m one hour exposure is equal to 1:00 p.m. 15 minutes exposure). In general, more
frequent reapplication is associated with decreased absorption of solar radiation and more protection.
So SPF is a relative measure of the amount of sunburn protection provided by sunscreens. It isn t a
reflection of time.
Sunscreen history and timeline:
It all started with the ancient civilizations used plant products to protect themselves from the sun
damage. Ancient Romans used olive oil while ancient Egyptians used extracts of jasmine and rice
plants that are still used in some products today. Zinc oxide creams have always been popular for
thousands of years but it was an opaque paste that left an unacceptable appearance in the skin which
led to the decrease in its use. It was popularly used as a sunburn preventative.

Apologetic Artice Review
The following article was written by David Wheeler for publication in an apologetics encyclopedia.
However, the subject matter of the article is equally as important in the realm of evangelism.
Considering that most approaches to evangelism, including Share Jesus Without Fear, are basically
driven by supplying proper information , at what point does one s incarnational lifestyle enter into the
equation? Is evangelism only the communication of proper information, or does it also include the
total person in reference to one s outward behavior that validates the information to the world? Is it
both information and incarnation ?

The same argument can be applied to other areas of traditional apologetics. Consider for a moment the
important issues related to the resurrection of Christ. While the historical and biblical aspects are
imperative in validating the authenticity of the event, one must never ignore how that miraculous
event transforms the individual expressions of a Christian s daily life.
For instance, a Muslim friend who converted to Christianity communicated that it was not the great
arguments of traditional informational apologetics that finally drew him to examine the claims of
Christ. On the contrary, it was the consistent caring actions of a high school friend who lived out a
resurrected life before him.
It was not that his friend ever stopped verbally sharing the informational truths about Christ with him.
The truth is that he boldly shared the gospel on many occasions. The bottom line was the simple
undeniable fact that his friend s life incarnationally validated the biblical truths he graciously
espoused.
In fact, the former Muslim admitted that he regularly abused and embarrassed his schoolmate hoping
that he would grow weary and leave him alone. In the end, the former Muslim became a Christian
because he could not argue with the evidences of a transformed life that ultimately became a tool of
the Holy Spirit prompting his heart to further examine the directions of his faith.
It is here that both the incarnational and informational

Clockwork Orange Nadsat
Imagine a violence filled society where young gangsters run rampant and crime is at every corner. A
Clockwork Orange, by Anthony Burgess, presents a futuristic society where ordinary people find
themselves the targets of violent crime. Among these gangsters is fifteen year old Alex and his band of
droogs. Alex and his gang of troublemakers spend their days robbing and beating up innocent men and
women they encounter, all while assuming they are invincible to the consequences that could come.
However, Alex s actions catch up with him one day when he is imprisoned for assaulting a woman.
While incarcerated, Alex is the test subject of an experiment intended to revoke his love of violence.
The experiment is successful; however, it revokes not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Upon first reading the novel, one may find it difficult to understand Alex s slang heavy language. This
language, known as Nadsat, represents a Russian influence in Alex s society. Burgess was able to hear
the language spoken first hand upon traveling to the Soviet Union. There, he was able to refine a
simple yet plausible Slavic vocabulary... to revise and complete A Clockwork Orange (Biswell 238).
Nadsat is mainly spoken by teen troublemakers, such as Alex, because it cannot be understood by
mainstream society. The language, in a way, also encourages violence with unique derogatory terms
regarding women and rape (Goh 1). Upon understanding the language spoken by Alex, one can further
understand his actions and the way in which he is influenced by his surroundings and the rest of
society. Goh continues to explain how the use of language in this novel makes a statement about the
individual s (Alex s) struggle... for authenticity under dystopian conditions of social control (1). This
so called social control is consistent with what Burgess may have seen in the Soviet Union and
presents a motive for the way he portrayed the government in the novel. As Alex speaks, the reader
can infer that he has been given no choice but to become the vicious criminal that he is. This, in turn,
makes the reader feel a certain sympathy towards him despite the despicable nature of his crimes. Also
creating a unique theme of sympathy is the use of Alex as a first person narrator. As a first person
narrator, one can see Alex s innermost thoughts and experience life as he lives it. Alex often describes
his crimes in a humorous and intimate manner, as stated in the article A Clockwork Orange (1). John
Tilton further continues this idea by explaining how Burgess creates emotion in Alex through his
poetic language

Essay about St. Catherine of Siena
St. Catherine of Siena
Catherine of Siena was born in Italy in 1347 at a time when political and religious changes were
affecting the hierarchy of the Catholic Church. Dedicating her life to the Holy Spirit from a very
young age, Catherine pursued a life of purity and simplicity that served as a background to her great
literary work, The Dialogue of the Divine Providence . Her work focuses on the importance of prayer
and its transcendent power in human life.
In the early stages of Catherine s life the surfacing modern age was bringing with it social turmoil
which spread throughout Europe (Giordani 3). During Catherine s lifetime, according to Mary Ann

with all the power of my soul, your most holy son, our one Lord Jesus Christ; and I promise Him and
you that I will never choose myself any other husband, and will always do all I can to keep my
virginity unspotted. (qtd. in Raymond of Capua 31). In order to preserve her virginity, she once wished
to take the habit of the Order of the Preaching Friars based on a story she once heard about a woman
pretending to be a man and becoming a monk in order to avoid marriage (Gardner 5).
Raymond of Capua deduces in his book The Life of Saint Catherine of Siena that the marriage
between Catherine and Christ was granted by the Virgin Mary based on the mercy Mary bestows on
everyone who prays to her. He writes, Catherine turns to one who distributes her graces most
generously who, being unable to refuse even sinners, and never rejects anyone, who gives to wise and
foolish alike...How can such a one fail to hear an ardent innocent young girl? (32). Catherine s

Questions On The And The Doctrine Of God
On How to Beg God to Exist
Man loves God. It is as natural a love to Man as any other is. For millennia the notion of divinity has
ruled the minds of peoples the world over, its power to foster social cohesion and social conflict at the
heart of its aversion to senescence. However, can such a consequential notion have as its foundation a
logical proof? Arguments in the affirmative abound. Let us examine one in particular, that of St.
Thomas Aquinas, the Five Ways. As we do this, we will consider Søren Kierkegaard s claim that any
logical proof of God s existence assumes God already exists, that God is necessary for reality to exist
(Swenson). Let us establish the logical proof offered by Aquinas and then determine whether we could
reach the same conclusions assuming God does not exist, and employ Occam s razor.
The Way of Motion
a) Nothing can be reduced from a state of potentiality into a state of actuality, unless by something
already in a state of actuality.
b) Nothing can be both moved and mover, or the mover of itself, from the same point of view and in
the same sense.
c) Whatever is in motion is put in motion by another.
d) This cannot go on infinitely.
e) Therefore, the First Mover must be what we understand as God.
Point d) of the argument is where Aquinas reveals that he has already assumed God s existence.
Aquinas states with certainty that an infinite causal loop is impossible, but does not explain why
(Kessler, 574). Why must this be the case? Even if the

How Did The Right Of The Government Change The Power Of...
The world is always changing, people, ideas, and new rules. The way people think and what they want
in life change as they age and as new progress is made. Therefor, government should be changed when
its ideals no longer aline with that of the peoples. The right of the government to rule over people
should come from the people s approval. If people do not agree with their government they have the
right to change their government. This right has changed history all over the world. Without this right
the power of the government may be in the hands of a single ruler or monarch who has no interest in
their people s wants or needs, and when this power falls into the wrong hands the people of a country
have the right to take this power away and end the trynary in their country and give power to a more
well suited government. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There have been many instances in history where the people have successfully caused a change in
their government. The Declaration of Independence calls on this right when they broke away from
England and formed their own government. England has also used the right to alter government when
dethroning king Charles I during the English Civil War. Charles s belief of absolute power in a sole
monarch was countered by Parliament, who won the war, wanting to rule over the English
government. Giving Parliament the power to rule over the English government was a great change to
how the country was ruled, and creating the Commonwealth of England. These are not the only
instances in which the people s power to alter the government has changed history forever, but they
are two times the people have changed their country

The True Beauty Of Music
The true beauty of music is that it connects people. It carries a message, and we the musicians are the
messengers . Music has been the source of comfort for many people around the world who are battling
hardships; it helps connect people who share similar experiences and aspire to share the same message
together. In the Caribbean region, they all shared some fundamental experiences; in particular, the
history of slavery. Enslaved people suffered extreme punishments, diseases, poverty, and rape. Their
identities were stripped away from them and they were treated as a property of the European owners.
In the twentieth century, after slavery has been finally eradicated, the aboriginals were weary of
discrimination and the horrific living conditions they still suffered post independence. Therefore, they
decided to fight for their rights to speak and voice an opinion. In the Anglo Caribbean region, music
played a major part in people s lives. The Caribbean people turned to Black Nationalism and began
practicing their own spiritual beliefs and voicing their opinions to send a message through their songs
and music. Nations in Latin America were beginning a process of rapid urbanization. Cultural
nationalism was widespread and expressed itself in musical nationalism . Music developed greatly
after independence, art forms like Reggae, diaspora, Samba, Tango, and Calypso that were established
in the twentieth century are still practiced and celebrated today all around the world.

Anaphora is defined as the repetition of a word or a group of words in the beginning of a sentence to

When it is finally ours, this freedom, this liberty, this beautiful and terrible thing creates a momentum
which will sustain this sentence for eleven lines. The next clause in this sentence switches the

The big vs. the small. The rich vs. the poor. The mighty vs. the meek. All are examples of struggles
between between separate powers. These struggles are commonplace in daily life, happening all the
time, all around. This is also true in Of Mice and Men, a historical fiction novella written by John
Steinbeck. Throughout the story several characters have to face and deal with these struggles. Lennie,
Curley s Wife and Crooks are all three characters that deal with issues of power in Of Mice and Men.
To better understand these characters and the issues they face, it may be helpful to first have a better
understanding of the story, The novella follows two itinerant farm workers, George (the protagonist)
and Lennie, who constantly drift from job ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Crooks had it the worst out of the three because no matter what he did, no matter how smart he as,
since he was black he would always have less power. When Crooks was in his own cabin and asked
Curley s Wife to leave and she responded with, Well, you keep your place then, Nigger. I could get
you strung up on a tree so easy it ain t even funny. (81; Ch. 4) (72; Ch. 4) it showed how little power
Crooks had, even in his own home. The second thing that proves that Crooks faced struggles with
power was when it said, . S pose you didn t have nobody. S pose you couldn t go into the bunk house
and play rummy Cause you was black. How d you like that? S pose you had to sit out here an read
books. Sure you could play horseshoes till it got dark, but then you got to read books. Books ain t no

make no difference who the guy is, long s he s with you. I tell ya, he cried, I tell ya a guy gets too
lonely an he gets sick. (72; Ch. 4) This proves Crooks faced struggles with power because it shows
that no matter what he did or what he did to fill his spare time, since he was black, he d always be

Laguna Art Museum
On Thursday March 22nd, I visited the Laguna Art Museum with my boyfriend. I was very excited for
this assignment because I am a member at the Laguna art museum, but didn t yet see the new exhibit

they were displaying a local artist, Tony DeLap, and work from his collection titled, Retrospective .
My expectation was that I probably wouldn t enjoy his work too much. I knew DeLap was a

The British and American decision to invade Sicily in 1943 was an uneasy compromise made by these
two Allies having greatly different strategies concerning the prosecution of the War against Nazi
Germany. The strategic goals settled upon were freedom of shipping in the Mediterranean, the opening

operations to support these strategic objectives were endangered by Generals Eisenhower and

Argumentative Essay On Abolish The Penny
Pennies are one of America s oldest treasures, but what is ironic about this specific treasure, is that it
has no wealth. America s classic coin the penny, is beginning to prove to be a second rate coin when it
comes to its use. And though many already cherish the coin for its history, the penny proves to be
completely counterproductive in today s society. After debating of whether or not the penny should be
extinguished, there is no doubt that the penny is worthless, easily replaceable, and a waste of time. As
society continues to up the prices on goods, the penny becomes completely worthless to the modern
economic system. In fact, most items, if not all, are completely above the amount range of the penny.
In Abolish the Penny William Safire writes that, You can t buy anything with a penny any more. Penny
candy? Not for sale at the five and dime (which is now a dollar store)...Any vending machines? Put a
penny in it and it will sound an alarm. Clearly, there is an irony when it comes to penny candy, when
you can t even use your one cent coin to purchase said sweets. When it all comes down to the bottom
line, pennies can t be even remotely used to purchase any goods because of it s problematic value; it s
mostly useless. Even the press secretary, Neena Moorjani, also believes the idea that the penny is
practically useless in everyday society (source A). blah blah put what needs to be put here cause i have

When I started Girl Scouting as a Daisy, I saw myself as shy and young. While those descriptors were

The Importance Of Student Aid In Education
debate on who should pay our way through college and what student aid is best, but there are a lot of
options. Such as: grants, loans, financial aid, or even parents might decide to pay for their child s way
through college themselves if they are financially able. You might be wondering what is the best
option for you or your child though, and who should pay? Elliot, Gallo, Tilghman and Shirley offer
ideas on what is the best student aid for you or your college bound child. In William Elliot s article,
Are We Getting Our Money s Worth? , he talks more about the lower income students struggling to get
into college because of the fear of debt. Those who use loans to pay their way into college usually end
up in debt because of the interest on the loans and the high college costs, which then causes them to
wanna drop out. As the debt load of matriculated poor and minority students rises, so do their dropout
rates (Elliot p26). The fact is middle and upper income student are able to use student aid to join more
expensive colleges, while low income students are only able to be accepted in less expensive home
state colleges. The American promise is that those who work equally hard will recieve equal rewards.
But the student loan programs may compromise the ability to graduate because of high loans (Elliot
p28). The people of low and high income are not treated equally even if they both work equally hard
in life to succeed and have an education.
Elliot believes, a college

My Paper On Is Educational Psychology
The topic pertinent to psychology that i chose to do my paper on is educational psychology.
Educational psychology is the study of how humans learn and retain knowledge, primarily in
educational settings like classrooms. This branch not only involves just the learning process of early
childhood and adolescence but it also involves the social, emotional, and cognitive learning processes
that are involved in humans throughout their entire lifespan. Educational psychology combines
numerous amounts of other branches of psychology, including: developmental psychology, behavioral
psychology, and cognitive psychology. Educational psychology is an approximately new subfield that
has had a huge amount of growth in recent years. The four major perspectives in educational
psychology are: Behavioral perspective, developmental perspective, cognitive perspective, and the
constructivist approach. The behavioral perspective proposes that all behaviors are learned through
conditioning. An example of this would be a teacher handing out tickets for participating in class or
good behavior that can later be exchanged for candy or toys. The developmental perspective suggest
how children obtain new skills and knowledge as they develop. An example of this is Jean Piaget s
distinguished stages of cognitive development. The cognitive perspective has become much more
acclaimed in recent decades, mostly because it suggest how things such as memories, emotions,
motivations, and beliefs influence

The Stereotype of Gender Without relationships, writing would lack its luster, meaning, and feeling to
name a few of the items relationships bring into writing. Relationships are viewed as simple or
complex. For example, a husband and wife s relationship is easily spotted, but the more complex
relationships, such as the relationship between men and women and the stereotypes that come with
each gender, are only found after deeper examination. In the play Trifles by Susan Glaspell and the
play Oleanna by David Mamet, the two writers explore and explain the stereotypes associated with the
relationship of gender. In Trifles, Glaspell uses the stereotypes that women are only capable ... Show

Throughout the story, the men are always seen as laughing and not seeing situations as seriously as
they should. For example, the speech by the sheriff and county attorney describing the attorney is as
chuckingly and scoffingly. The men are not taking the situation seriously because they feel that it is
the women s fault for always troubling the male that this happened. Another example is when Mrs.
Hale questions Mrs. Wright on whether she is going to quilt or knot her fabric and the county attorney
and sheriff burst out laughing over what they believe is an idiotic question and occupation. The last
way the play shows how uncaring and insensitive the men are stereotyped to be is the fact that the
women are never addressed with a first name throughout the play. The women are always referred to
as the wife of their husband or introduced by their husband s last name. All the men address each other
with even their first name or their full name, but when it comes to women, the men believe they must

10.) Some of the possible problems with the recommendations are: with expansion, will the bakery be
able to ensure the consistent quality that it has become known for? Will Amy be able to properly

Directed by a fan of the musicians involved in the film, The Last Waltz is considered one of the
greatest musical films, if not the greatest, ever produced in the history of rock n roll. It features the last
concert given by a group of musicians who referred to themselves as The Band . Hence the name The
Last Waltz was given to the title of the film. Besides the concert, the viewers are enlightened with the
life experiences of these musicians through the interviews dispersed between the scenes of the concert.
In this way, the movie is created as an informative film since the interviews inform the audience of the

In the film, the director has introduced the technique of tracking shots for places presented in the
scenes. These slow moving long shots communicate to the viewers of the life back in the 1960s. At the
same time, it captures the voice of the 60 s counter culture. Clearly, in viewing the shots of the town,
the audience was provided with evidence of their lifestyles. Some were dressed in the Hippies fashion.
There were many people cuddling in groups, drinking and smoking on the streets as if they were
living the time of their life. The frequent exposures of these drugs/cigarettes in the shots and many
scenes throughout the documentary may not have been as acceptable in today s films.
On a side note, the music they listened to was closely linked to the musical influences in which The
Band had drawn their music from. Although much of the influences had come from the music genre of
country, there were other ones exhibited such as the blues (the group had invited Muddy Waters, a
legendary blues musician, as one of their guests for the concert) and folk music.
The shootings of the film were considered more artistic than that of the typical styles accounted in a
documentary. The lightings it presented were far beyond the usual expectations of a documentary.

Genetic Testing And The Human Genome Project
The Human Genome Project introduces significant scientific findings to the world, but raises a lot of
controversies. Many of these controversies concern the application of this new scientific finding and
its ethicality. Genetic information from a project, once aimed towards mapping the human genome in
hope for curing diseases, are now being used in businesses. It shouldn t be permissible for employers
to require that all employees, as well as potential employees, be screened for genetic vulnerabilities
and to use the results of such screening when they make hiring, retention, and job assignment
decisions. These genetic vulnerabilities may include diseases, unsuitable personality traits and other
traits the company deems undesirable. Employees shouldn t be judged by their genes, because the
results do not adequately speak for what the employees will do in life, the employee s position in the
society, and the employee s financial standing. Genetic testing should be an option for the employees
to decide on job assignment rather than influence the hiring decisions of employers. Genetic testing
only shows genetic potential, not potential growth. Conducting genetic testings on employees
infringes on their privacy and encourage more social gaps with genetic classes. There are possible
objections to this controversy due to the possible advantages of the genetic tests. It can be argued that
genetic tests can match people with the right occupations and enhance the best given traits

Concussions In Athletes Research Paper
Spotting any of the symptoms above, is one of the quickest and effective ways for a concussion to be
diagnosed by a person trained to spot these symptoms. Although many of these symptoms, don t
appear or will not be present in an athlete that has sustained a concussion. New ways for diagnosing
concussions, have been developed to better identify the injury, making it easier to diagnose and treat
an athlete who has sustained a hit to the head or neck area. Many concussions, never have an athlete
completely losing consciousness, many athletes experience a momentary state of confusion or
disorientation after being hit in the head.( Bell Ringers are concussions , 2016) This type of hit to the
head is known as a bell ringer ; these types of hits can prove to be even more dangerous and hazardous
to an athlete, because they don t lose consciousness many trainers, and coaches think that they are still
able to play. This, however is not true, if an athlete were to sustain another concussion, then their
chances of getting a more severe injury is dramatically increased. ... Show more content on

The Trinity Of The Godhead Religion
One of the pillars on which the Christian faith is based is the Trinity, we believe in God the Farther,
Christ Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit, we believe in the Trinity of the Godhead. This pillar however
has caused many debates amongst many other religions and has been rejected by most with a lot of
speculation about Jesus and His followers.
The Jewish nation however is one of the most sceptical with regards to the acceptance of the Trinity,
the New Testament and Jesus. The Jewish believe that God is the one and only God as seen in the Old
Testament, therefore they live strictly to the laws of Moses, so when we as Christians refer to Jesus as
our Lord and Saviour, they accuse us of blasphemy against the true God of Israel. The Jewish

Blood Bank History
Technology is a broad concept that helps humanity. Technological change has been the driving force
in the growth of our world today. People often forget that technology such as blood banks, radios, and
radars weren t easy to use as they are now. Within this paper I am going to discuss how blood banks
came about and evolved in the medical industry, how radios entertained and help send messages to the
public, and how radars were introduced to the war.
A blood transfusion is a safe, common procedure in which blood is given to you through an
intravenous (IV) line in one of your blood vessels. ( What Is a Blood Transfusion? NHLBI, NIH. U.S

At the start of the decade 12 million American households owned a radio, and by 1939 this total had
exploded to more than 28 million. Radios provided a great source of entertainment, but radios also
provided a way for communication like never before. Franklin Roosevelt s fireside chats helped the
population feel closer to their president than ever. By the end of the decade radio had exacted quite an
influence on the American media. Advertisers capitalised on radio s popularity and the idea of the
sponsor was born. Radio also helped establish the national broadcasting networks such as NBC and
CBS, still present to this day. After the 1930s the popularity of radio began to decline at the hands of
newer, more visual technologies. But the influence of the golden age of radio on the American way of
life will never be forgotten. ( Feature Radio In The 1930s. PBS. PBS, n.d. Web. 02 Oct.

Mirrors In Black Mirror, By Charli Charlie Brooker
In our 21st century reality, new media and technology has transformed, with little resistance, almost
every aspect of daily life; redefining our reality. From plasma screens to monitors to smartphones, we
are constantly face to face with the black screens of our devices, or black mirrors . Canadian professor,
Marshall Mcluhan described media as artificial extensions of sensory existence, ; meaning, each
media technology functions as a prosthetic, working in conjunction with our minds and bodies,
allowing us to perceive more and reshaping our perception of the world (1969). This approach
emphasises the impossibility of fully understanding social and cultural changes in society without
understanding how media works as environments (Griffin, 2011).

Effect Of Innovation Within The Healthcare Industry
The effect of innovations within the healthcare industry leads to many scientific and technical changes
in healthcare delivery. To cope with these changes, there necessitate to prepare and train healthcare
workers to improve employees knowledge and the quality of care. Limited clinical experience with
new mode of mechanical ventilation, such as Airway Pressure Released Ventilation mode, make its
implementation difficult in real critical world. Adequate staff training time, offsite support services,
and backup from ventilator manufacturers are essential to improve employees knowledge and skills.
My research topic seeks to investigate the effectiveness of scenario based learning in training
healthcare practitioners in the use of APRV. Airway Pressure Released Ventilation (APRV) was first
introduced by Dr. Christine Stock and Dr. John Downs, in the late 1980s. The APRV application was
originally used as a rescue therapy to manage ARDS patients who have difficulty in oxygenation.{40}
The Drager Evita was the first ventilator provide APRV. Other ICU ventilator manufacturers
incorporated APRV mode with different terminology. Such as, the Maquet Servoi refers to APRV as Bi
vent; the Puritan Bennett 840 uses the term Bi level; the Cardinal AVEA uses Bi phasic; and Hamilton
G5 refers to APRV as DouPAP.{13} Airway Pressure Released Ventilation is a form of
nonconventional mode of ventilation that based on open lung principle.{13} It is a time triggered,
pressure limited, and

  • 2. John Locke s First Treatise Of Government In John Locke s Second Treatise of Government, he brings up the idea of property, which he defines as one of the Natural Rights that a person has. To Locke, he explains how property is something given from God. He also explains how the people should have a right to property in the State of Nature as well as in Political Society. Locke also recognizes that there are limitations to the amount of property available and takes note of this in his text. Lastly, he finds a kind of solution to the limitations in the forms of a money economy and Political Society. This thesis will argue that property is the main concept in the creation of all of Locke s political thought, since he bases a large amount of emphasis on how important it is, while also focusing on the common good and how the people are the ones that should make changes. To fully understand what Locke is claiming, the idea of Natural Rights must first be defined. In the Second Treatise, these rights are those that everyone is born with, in the State of Nature. The State of Nature, which is a place of perfect freedom, a man is naturally equal, reasonable, and free. This state is also protected by the Law of Nature which enforces that all [are] equal and independent, no one ought to harm another in his Life, Health, Liberty, or Possessions (6.9). The rights of men are protected under the Law of Nature. Locke repeats these rights many times throughout his text, and elaborates more on each time. For example, in the later ... • 5. Why Did Gondwana Occur In Australia As it is the oldest of the continents, Australia is often referred to as an ancient land. However, it didn t always have its current shape, as it was once a part of a super continent called Pangaea. This was until it separated and drifted across the Earth s surface, causing a variety of climate changes and other geological events. Around 300 million years ago, Pangea existed during the late Paleozoic and early Mesozoic eras and approximately 120 million years ago, Pangea split into two smaller sections called Gondwana and Laurasia. Gondwana formed prior to Pangea , and later on became part of it. However, after the break up of Pangaea, Gondwana possessed most of the regions in today s Southern Hemisphere, including Australia, Africa, Antarctica and South America. Similarly, around 180 million years ago, Gondwana also began to split up. • 6. Bilateral Review System Analysis Bilateral review systems are ultimately unreliable. Many customers are forced to say positive, but not necessarily true, traits about themselves or hotels and are usually rated by companies unfairly. For Uber, customers are rated on their behavior, but there are no real standards suggesting what is meant by good, bad, or mediocre behavior. It is purely up to the designation of the driver, which can be more opinionated than factual. Thus, it is not a surprise when a passenger feels perplexed to find out his or her passenger score has been lowered even if the passenger did everything in his or her power to leave a lasting impression on the driver. This then puts an overwhelming amount of pressure people to write a review about themselves, which ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Advantage And Disadvantages Of Sunscreens i) Sunscreen products: What are sunscreens? Sunscreens are products that combine multiple ingredients that help prevent the sun s ultraviolet (UV) radiation from reaching the skin. Understanding UV radiation: UV radiation is an electromagnetic radiation that reaches the earth from the sun. It is classified into UVA, UVB and UVC according to their wavelength. UVC is usually absorbed by the ozone layer not penetrating to earth while UVA and UVB penetrate the ozone layer and play an important role in skin photo aging, sun burns and skin cancer. Most of the UVB IS filtered by the atmosphere. UVB can only cause damage to the epidermal layers as it cannot perpetrate beyond the superficial skin layers. UVB is responsible chiefly for skins reddening ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So the sunburn protection increases by increasing the SPF value. There is a misconception stating that SPF is related to time of solar exposure not to the amount which is not true. Although solar energy amount and solar exposure time are related, other factors impact the amount as an example the intensity. (A 9:00a.m one hour exposure is equal to 1:00 p.m. 15 minutes exposure). In general, more frequent reapplication is associated with decreased absorption of solar radiation and more protection. So SPF is a relative measure of the amount of sunburn protection provided by sunscreens. It isn t a reflection of time. Sunscreen history and timeline: It all started with the ancient civilizations used plant products to protect themselves from the sun damage. Ancient Romans used olive oil while ancient Egyptians used extracts of jasmine and rice plants that are still used in some products today. Zinc oxide creams have always been popular for thousands of years but it was an opaque paste that left an unacceptable appearance in the skin which led to the decrease in its use. • 8. Apologetic Artice Review The following article was written by David Wheeler for publication in an apologetics encyclopedia. However, the subject matter of the article is equally as important in the realm of evangelism. Considering that most approaches to evangelism, including Share Jesus Without Fear, are basically driven by supplying proper information , at what point does one s incarnational lifestyle enter into the equation? Is evangelism only the communication of proper information, or does it also include the total person in reference to one s outward behavior that validates the information to the world? Is it both information and incarnation ? Read and respond on discussion board. Subject: Incarnational Apologetics Definition: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The same argument can be applied to other areas of traditional apologetics. Consider for a moment the important issues related to the resurrection of Christ. While the historical and biblical aspects are imperative in validating the authenticity of the event, one must never ignore how that miraculous event transforms the individual expressions of a Christian s daily life. For instance, a Muslim friend who converted to Christianity communicated that it was not the great arguments of traditional informational apologetics that finally drew him to examine the claims of Christ. On the contrary, it was the consistent caring actions of a high school friend who lived out a resurrected life before him. It was not that his friend ever stopped verbally sharing the informational truths about Christ with him. The truth is that he boldly shared the gospel on many occasions. The bottom line was the simple undeniable fact that his friend s life incarnationally validated the biblical truths he graciously espoused. In fact, the former Muslim admitted that he regularly abused and embarrassed his schoolmate hoping that he would grow weary and leave him alone. In the end, the former Muslim became a Christian because he could not argue with the evidences of a transformed life that ultimately became a tool of the Holy Spirit prompting his heart to further examine the directions of his faith. Nadsat is mainly spoken by teen troublemakers, such as Alex, because it cannot be understood by mainstream society. The language, in a way, also encourages violence with unique derogatory terms regarding women and rape (Goh 1). Upon understanding the language spoken by Alex, one can further understand his actions and the way in which he is influenced by his surroundings and the rest of society. Goh continues to explain how the use of language in this novel makes a statement about the individual s (Alex s) struggle... for authenticity under dystopian conditions of social control (1). This so called social control is consistent with what Burgess may have seen in the Soviet Union and presents a motive for the way he portrayed the government in the novel. As Alex speaks, the reader can infer that he has been given no choice but to become the vicious criminal that he is. This, in turn, makes the reader feel a certain sympathy towards him despite the despicable nature of his crimes. Also creating a unique theme of sympathy is the use of Alex as a first person narrator. As a first person narrator, one can see Alex s innermost thoughts and experience life as he lives it. Alex often describes his crimes in a humorous and intimate manner, as stated in the article A Clockwork Orange (1). • 13. Questions On The And The Doctrine Of God On How to Beg God to Exist Man loves God. It is as natural a love to Man as any other is. For millennia the notion of divinity has ruled the minds of peoples the world over, its power to foster social cohesion and social conflict at the heart of its aversion to senescence. However, can such a consequential notion have as its foundation a logical proof? Arguments in the affirmative abound. Let us examine one in particular, that of St. Thomas Aquinas, the Five Ways. As we do this, we will consider Søren Kierkegaard s claim that any logical proof of God s existence assumes God already exists, that God is necessary for reality to exist (Swenson). Let us establish the logical proof offered by Aquinas and then determine whether we could reach the same conclusions assuming God does not exist, and employ Occam s razor. The Way of Motion a) Nothing can be reduced from a state of potentiality into a state of actuality, unless by something already in a state of actuality. b) Nothing can be both moved and mover, or the mover of itself, from the same point of view and in the same sense. c) Whatever is in motion is put in motion by another. d) This cannot go on infinitely. e) Therefore, the First Mover must be what we understand as God. Point d) of the argument is where Aquinas reveals that he has already assumed God s existence. Aquinas states with certainty that an infinite causal loop is impossible, but does not explain why (Kessler, 574). Why must this be the case? Even if the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

America s classic coin the penny, is beginning to prove to be a second rate coin when it comes to its use. And though many already cherish the coin for its history, the penny proves to be completely counterproductive in today s society. After debating of whether or not the penny should be extinguished, there is no doubt that the penny is worthless, easily replaceable, and a waste of time. As society continues to up the prices on goods, the penny becomes completely worthless to the modern economic system. Such as: grants, loans, financial aid, or even parents might decide to pay for their child s way through college themselves if they are financially able. You might be wondering what is the best option for you or your child though, and who should pay? Elliot, Gallo, Tilghman and Shirley offer ideas on what is the best student aid for you or your college bound child. In William Elliot s article, Are We Getting Our Money s Worth? , he talks more about the lower income students struggling to get into college because of the fear of debt. Those who use loans to pay their way into college usually end up in debt because of the interest on the loans and the high college costs, which then causes them to wanna drop out. As the debt load of matriculated poor and minority students rises, so do their dropout rates (Elliot p26). The fact is middle and upper income student are able to use student aid to join more expensive colleges, while low income students are only able to be accepted in less expensive home state colleges. The American promise is that those who work equally hard will recieve equal rewards. But the student loan programs may compromise the ability to graduate because of high loans (Elliot p28). Educational psychology is the study of how humans learn and retain knowledge, primarily in educational settings like classrooms. This branch not only involves just the learning process of early childhood and adolescence but it also involves the social, emotional, and cognitive learning processes that are involved in humans throughout their entire lifespan. Educational psychology combines numerous amounts of other branches of psychology, including: developmental psychology, behavioral psychology, and cognitive psychology. Educational psychology is an approximately new subfield that has had a huge amount of growth in recent years. The four major perspectives in educational psychology are: Behavioral perspective, developmental perspective, cognitive perspective, and the constructivist approach. The behavioral perspective proposes that all behaviors are learned through conditioning. An example of this would be a teacher handing out tickets for participating in class or good behavior that can later be exchanged for candy or toys. The developmental perspective suggest how children obtain new skills and knowledge as they develop. An example of this is Jean Piaget s distinguished stages of cognitive development. Many of these controversies concern the application of this new scientific finding and its ethicality. Genetic information from a project, once aimed towards mapping the human genome in hope for curing diseases, are now being used in businesses. It shouldn t be permissible for employers to require that all employees, as well as potential employees, be screened for genetic vulnerabilities and to use the results of such screening when they make hiring, retention, and job assignment decisions. These genetic vulnerabilities may include diseases, unsuitable personality traits and other traits the company deems undesirable. Employees shouldn t be judged by their genes, because the results do not adequately speak for what the employees will do in life, the employee s position in the society, and the employee s financial standing. Genetic testing should be an option for the employees to decide on job assignment rather than influence the hiring decisions of employers. Genetic testing only shows genetic potential, not potential growth. Conducting genetic testings on employees infringes on their privacy and encourage more social gaps with genetic classes. Many concussions, never have an athlete completely losing consciousness, many athletes experience a momentary state of confusion or disorientation after being hit in the head.( Bell Ringers are concussions , 2016) This type of hit to the head is known as a bell ringer ; these types of hits can prove to be even more dangerous and hazardous to an athlete, because they don t lose consciousness many trainers, and coaches think that they are still able to play. This, however is not true, if an athlete were to sustain another concussion, then their chances of getting a more severe injury is dramatically increased. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 43. The Trinity Of The Godhead Religion One of the pillars on which the Christian faith is based is the Trinity, we believe in God the Farther, Christ Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit, we believe in the Trinity of the Godhead. This pillar however has caused many debates amongst many other religions and has been rejected by most with a lot of speculation about Jesus and His followers. The Jewish nation however is one of the most sceptical with regards to the acceptance of the Trinity, the New Testament and Jesus. The Jewish believe that God is the one and only God as seen in the Old Testament, therefore they live strictly to the laws of Moses, so when we as Christians refer to Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, they accuse us of blasphemy against the true God of Israel. • 44. Blood Bank History Technology is a broad concept that helps humanity. Technological change has been the driving force in the growth of our world today. People often forget that technology such as blood banks, radios, and radars weren t easy to use as they are now. Within this paper I am going to discuss how blood banks came about and evolved in the medical industry, how radios entertained and help send messages to the public, and how radars were introduced to the war. A blood transfusion is a safe, common procedure in which blood is given to you through an intravenous (IV) line in one of your blood vessels. ( What Is a Blood Transfusion? NHLBI, NIH. At the start of the decade 12 million American households owned a radio, and by 1939 this total had exploded to more than 28 million. Radios provided a great source of entertainment, but radios also provided a way for communication like never before. Franklin Roosevelt s fireside chats helped the population feel closer to their president than ever. By the end of the decade radio had exacted quite an influence on the American media. Advertisers capitalised on radio s popularity and the idea of the sponsor was born. Radio also helped establish the national broadcasting networks such as NBC and CBS, still present to this day. After the 1930s the popularity of radio began to decline at the hands of newer, more visual technologies. But the influence of the golden age of radio on the American way of life will never be forgotten. ( Feature Radio In The 1930s. PBS. PBS, n.d. Web. 02 Oct. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Mirrors In Black Mirror, By Charli Charlie Brooker In our 21st century reality, new media and technology has transformed, with little resistance, almost every aspect of daily life; redefining our reality. From plasma screens to monitors to smartphones, we are constantly face to face with the black screens of our devices, or black mirrors . Canadian professor, Marshall Mcluhan described media as artificial extensions of sensory existence, ; meaning, each media technology functions as a prosthetic, working in conjunction with our minds and bodies, allowing us to perceive more and reshaping our perception of the world (1969). This approach emphasises the impossibility of fully understanding social and cultural changes in society without understanding how media works as environments (Griffin, 2011). ... • 46. Effect Of Innovation Within The Healthcare Industry The effect of innovations within the healthcare industry leads to many scientific and technical changes in healthcare delivery. To cope with these changes, there necessitate to prepare and train healthcare workers to improve employees knowledge and the quality of care. Limited clinical experience with new mode of mechanical ventilation, such as Airway Pressure Released Ventilation mode, make its implementation difficult in real critical world. Adequate staff training time, offsite support services, and backup from ventilator manufacturers are essential to improve employees knowledge and skills. My research topic seeks to investigate the effectiveness of scenario based learning in training healthcare practitioners in the use of APRV. Airway Pressure Released Ventilation (APRV) was first introduced by Dr. Christine Stock and Dr. John Downs, in the late 1980s. The APRV application was originally used as a rescue therapy to manage ARDS patients who have difficulty in oxygenation.{40} The Drager Evita was the first ventilator provide APRV. Other ICU ventilator manufacturers incorporated APRV mode with different terminology. Such as, the Maquet Servoi refers to APRV as Bi vent; the Puritan Bennett 840 uses the term Bi level; the Cardinal AVEA uses Bi phasic; and Hamilton G5 refers to APRV as DouPAP.{13} Airway Pressure Released Ventilation is a form of nonconventional mode of ventilation that based on open lung principle.{13} It is a time triggered, pressure limited, and ...
