Characteristics Of A Good Friend
A good friend Friendship is such a strong bond of relationship without which a person s life is an
execration. It is not hard for me to believe a person without a relative but it is hard for me to even
imagine of a person without any good friend. A good friend fill up the vacuum which no family
members can. No matter how close bond a person share with the family, there is always a limit beyond
which a person cannot express their thoughts or confess about their problems to family members. A
good friend remain unaffected by these limits and a person can pour their heart out in front of them. A
friend plays a very poignant role in a person s life. There are many characteristics of a good friend.
One of those characteristics is loyalty. A person can never be considered a good friend if he or she is
not loyal. That s the reason why a dog is considered to be man s best friend. A good friend is someone
who will remain loyal and stick with us even during bad phase of our life. When a person is strike
upon by adversity, disappointment surrounds from all directions and darkness engulf a person s happy
life then only a good friend comes as a ray of hope to illuminate a person s life and rescue them from
being drown in the calamity. For example, during bad times, failure in exams, rejection in job, family
problems, break up; a good friend support us morally, physically and financially and help us to relive

Characteristics Of Psychopathy And Antisocial Disorder
Characteristics of Psychopathy vs Antisocial Disorder
Dennis Metz
University of South Florida
Characteristics of Psychopathy vs Antisocial Disorder
Psychopathy is defined as a disorder of personality and antisocial disorder is primarily behaviorally
based. Interestingly these disorders are considered co morbid, because they can be present
simultaneously within in patient but are not the same (Werner, Few, Bucholz, 2015). This paper will
discuss the literature for psychopathy and antisocial disorder, any relevant theories, and areas in need
of further research.
Psychopathy is defined as the suffering of the mind (Juni, 2014). Psychopathy diagnoses of people
who do not understand why their actions are unacceptable do not ... Show more content on

One individual with psychopathic personality disorder is not necessarily antisocial, and an individual
with antisocial disorder does not always meet the diagnostic criteria of psychopathy (Juni, 2014). It is
estimated the general population suffering from antisocial disorder range between 1% 4% and .2%
3.3% for people who had a situation within the past twelve months (Werner, Few, Bucholz, 2015).
These results are based on patients who are participants of communities, or clinical populations and
are supplemented from criminal populations when necessary. The patients were all diagnosed before
the age of fifteen. Gender also plays a role because men are three to five times more likely to be
diagnosed with either antisocial disorder or psychopathy disorder including 6% of men, and 2% of
women (Werner, Few, Bucholz, 2015). Even forensic data shows a higher prevalence between male
psychopathy and antisocial disorders than their female counterparts.
The Psychodynamic Diagnostic Manual (PDM) stresses the underlying psychodynamic aspects which
does not focus on the antisocial behavior as much as a preoccupation with interpersonal power (Juni,
2014). This statement makes clear distinction between psychopathy and antisocial disorder because
psychopaths are more concerned with power than antisocial behaviors around others.
The criteria related to antisocial behavior patterns include low social intelligence and power impulse
control (Juni, 2014).

Chaos Theory Research Paper
Chaos has been studied for centuries. It has grown into its own branch of mathematics and sciences
since the 1960 s. It has been shown that chaos is around us in our everyday lives and has also
branched out into other mathematics and sciences which has lead to more research, new theories and
studies.
The first thing that should be mentioned for chaos in our everyday life should be the weather and
weather predictions since the chaos theory was based on the studies of meteorologist Edward Lorenz.
Weather prediction is only possible short term. A slight disturbance in the atmosphere can completely
change the weather. In order to predict long term conditions, scientists would need to be able to
measure the atmosphere and even the oceans with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Our bodies contain chaos throughout from heartbeats to lungs to brain activity. The beating heart can
be described as chaotic as the beats are usually different and depend on conditions such as exercise,
stress or even emotional state. Heartbeats in a healthy heart are supposed to have slight variations.
This is one way how doctors can determine if a heart has disease. The chaos is not there rather in a
diseased heart, the beats are constant and predictable with no slight variations, or are on the opposite
end and are wildly erratic. Dr. Ary L. Goldberger, of Boston, MA., is doing extensive research on
heart rates and chaotic patterns. Dr. Goldberger was able to show fractal patterns in heart rates. A heart
rate is quite complex and does show signs of self similarity but does break down when it becomes
diseased. Fractal geometry is seen in the heart as well as the circulatory system. The first place that
fractal geometry can be seen in the circulatory system are in veins and arteries along with the heart
muscles. The veins, arteries and heart muscles actually protect the circulatory system from the strong
and violent pumping of the

Social Structures In The Film Stress, Portrait Of A Killer
The documentary by Robert Sapolsky, Stress, Portrait of a Killer, (Stress: Portrait of a Killer
[Documentary]. (2008). National Geographic.) emphasizes the dangers that are associated with
prolonged stress that we experience in our everyday lives, and situations that we expose ourselves to.
In the documentary Sapolsky travels to Africa, there he studies the baboons that live in the wild to see
how they live, react, and respond to their environment. Like humans, the baboons also have their own
social structures that determines who is the top baboon s are, and as the social structure declines what
baboons fall at the lower end of the social structure. This can be related to humans, because like the
baboons we have our upper class, upper middle class, lower middle class, working class, and poor

categorized by the same type of social structure, the higher the social rank the lower the stress, and the
lower the social rank the higher the stress. He also emphasized that while one might have a lower
social class ranking, they aren t necessarily considered high stress.

The Management Of The East Central Railway
INTRODUCTION Samastipur is an administrative center for the East Central Railway. Mechanical
workshop, Samastipur was established in 1881 for overhauling of Steam locomotives, POH of coaches
and wagons. It originally belonged to Bengal North Western Railway (BNWR) and subsequently
merged in state owned Oudh Tirhut Railway (OTR) on 1st April 1943. Later on, after formation of
zones, it became a workshop of North Eastern Railway. Subsequent to restructuring of zonal
Railways, it has come under East Central Railway. At present, this workshop manufactures BOXNHL
wagons. The workshop is also ISO 9001:2008 certified. TOI reported that the Samastipur workshop of
the East Central Railway has achieved a rare feat by manufacturing stainless steel wagons having the
axle load capacity of about 22.29 tonnes. This workshop is the second unit of the Indian Railways
where stainless steel wagons have been successfully manufactured. According to an ECR press
release, the special feature of this kind of wagons is that it has less weight compared to old
conventional wagons but it has the capacity to load about 71 tonnes freight while the old wagon has
the capacity to load about 58.81 tonnes only. VITAL STATISTICS 1. Sanctioned Strength 727 2. On

Monsters Inc Reflection
This is the first time that I watched the movie Monsters Inc if not for the given task for us to write a
reflection utilizing McKinsey 7S Model of Strategy. The story is both touching, entertaining and
interesting.
Foremost of the McKinsey 7S model is the element of strategy. Monsters Inc., as a business company,
derives its product from scared children to produce energy. The children, as a source of energy were
assigned one employee each called the scarer, and permanently assisted by another employee to
handle the technical aspects of the job including recording and the filing of reports.
At the beginning of the story, Monster Inc believes that scaring children is the most viable source of
energy. The highest reading reflected on the meter scale supply the most amount of enegry. However,
the strategy shifted to the discovery of happiness from children which is more powerfull source of ...

In the movie, the new discovery shifted the lead work from Sully to Mike. Their turnabout roles
stemmed from the fact that Mike is more suited to extract laughter from children than Sully.
Personally, a new discovery of the company, or in this case a better one, can be very enriching for a
person. This could affect the output of the company into greater heights and create better products. If
not for discoveries, like in this case, research can also help the company perform economically for
better results or output.
The second element is structure. The movie presented a direct structure from source to extractor to
consolidation or reports to management. Even with the discovery of a new energy source, Monsters
Inc maintained its operational structure. I think this is the most economical way for the company to
achieve its objective and this suits well with my personality a simple and straight forward approach

How Joss Whedon Does Not Have An Origin As Dramatic
Joss Whedon does not have an origin as dramatic as some comic book heroes, but his story is almost
as unbelievable in filmmaking today: a transformation from a typecast fan favorite to the writer and
director of some of the most successful movies of all time. He began his career as a lesser known but
undeniably talented sitcom writer in 1988, but his fame in Hollywood really began when Marvel
sought him out in 2010 to write and direct The Avengers. Whedon s varied experience in the movie
industry, unique skill set, and passions for writing and creating made him the perfect fit for the project;
and they have helped him become one of the most admired screenwriters of the 21st century. He
knows the creative process that works best for him when writing, and he used this same process when
writing the script for The Avengers. He believes that writing from a director s point of view, being a
willing and able collaborator, and finding balance in characters will lead to a great film. Applying
these constants to his writing process for The Avengers, Whedon created a coherent and compelling
story that balances the characters heroism with their humanity. Before he begins writing, Whedon has
a certain environment that fosters his creative process best. While he has always liked working in the
early morning best, Whedon s schedule has become much more unreliable since becoming a father.
You write whenever you can, he told Steve Weintraub of Collider. Whenever you re given the

Norse Religion
History
In 793, Vikings raided and colonized large parts of Europe. They invaded and eventually settled in
Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Iceland. This area became known as Scandinavia. The
Scandinavian population consisted of mostly Vikings during its early years.Scandinavian people spoke
Old Norse, a North Germanic language developed in the area. It was spoken from the 9th to 13th
century.
Religion
The main religion of Scandinavia was Norse. The Norse religion was a polytheistic religion mainly
practiced in Scandinavia during the Viking Age. It was based around mythology. Some of their most
popular deities are Thor; the god of thunder, strength, and mankind; Odin; the god of healing, royalty,
and knowledge; and Frigg; Odin s wife. Norse reigned as the prime religion of Scandinavia until it
was Christianized in 1000. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the most famous examples is the Rok Runestone, a large stone written in Old Norse that speaks
of a Norse war. It is considered one of the oldest pieces of Scandinavian literature. Art was used for
many purposes at that time. Vikings put fantastic sculptures on the front of their ships. Elaborate
designs were also carved into the sides. Wood was the most popular material for Viking artists. Metal
and stone were also used. Most Viking art was carvings or sculptures.Viking people often had tattoos

Environmentalist Views On Animal Agriculture
Environmentalist view animal agriculture as a major threat to the Earth and the population that fills it.
Animal agriculture has caused mass extinction of species, the melting of Arctic sea, and the collapse
of the world fisheries. According to many environmentalist, the earth is currently facing the greatest
mass extinction of all in history roughly a thousand times greater than ever before. For example, the
Earth has lost more plant and animal species in today s time compared to the period of the dinosaur
extinction. Due to the constant increase of animal agriculture causing desertification and deforestation
is leading to the increase of greenhouse gases in the Earth s atmosphere and predominantly the
unnatural change in the climate. In the

The Event Management Industry Is An Ideal Location For The...

Grandezvous largely competes and collaborates in the event management industry, which provides
significant opportunities on a local, national and international scale.
Toronto acts as an ideal location for the company as the city serves as a business and political hub for
the province, and the country. In 2013 Toronto s Total GDP jumped too over $290 billion, making up
just over 15% of Canada s total GDP (Toronto Market Sizes, n.d). Of that total, consumers spent
almost $10 billion on hotels and catering in the city, and over $13 billion on leisure and recreation
(Toronto Market Sizes, n.d.). These numbers give an overarching view of the large tourism and

This figure likely includes the industry s whole span from mega events such as the Pan Am Games, to
small scale corporate and personal events. On nation level research firm IBIS World estimated earlier
this year that the Canadian event planning and trade show sectors would generate $1 billion in revenue
in 2014 (Trade Shows Event ..., 2014). This marked an increase of 2.2% over the previous year,
however the company noted the industry s success was heavily based on corporate spending and the
state of the economy (Trade Shows Event ..., 2014). This alludes to the fact that many organizations
likely see spending on event management as non essential, meaning event management firms may
need to heavily stress their value proposition.
As stated, while Grandezvous does operate in the event management industry as a whole they are
largely focused on the promotion of events on web 2.0 applications. Therefore social media
engagement and advertising applies directly to the business in which they operate. Social media is
becoming a loud medium for advertising as more businesses recognize its potential reach. In a survey
of small businesses by BIA/Kelsey the majority of respondents said they used social media as a means
of advertising, with the average business putting 21.4% of their advertising budget toward social
media campaigns (Brooks, 2014). These businesses are

All these rumors about Coca Cola of course damaged the image of the company very much and
caused many problems. Sales were going down each year. More and more people didn t trust Coca
Cola anymore.
Also, Coca Cola has very strong rivalries. The main one is of course PepsiCo, which is very famous
all over the world and has a great variety of products. Thus, Coca cola can t afford its image to be
damaged because if that happens PepsiCo will become the leader of the industry very fast. Right now
Coca Cola needs a new Strategic Communication Plan to try to overcome the issues.
Strategic Communications Plan for Coca Cola
Background statement:
Last year, Coca cola saw its sales decreased in the European market. In order to increase the sales,
Coca Cola needs to define a new strategic communications plan. As mentioned above the image of
Coca Cola has been damaged quite a lot for the past 2 years by different factors. A hard work needed
to deal with consequences of this damage in the image of the company.
Rivalries are always close, that s why Coca Cola has to be alert to stay competitive. New Strategic
Communications plan is going to help the company to deal with problems both inside and outside the
company. It will help Coca Cola to use the strength and opportunities to overcome weaknesses and
threats.

The Museum of Contemporary Art currently has two exhibitions on view; one is called Dirge:

most to me was Epitaph from 2011 by Pedro Reyes. Reyes works are often meant to physically engage
his viewers in order to shift their social and emotional expectations. The Epitaph invites his viewers to
imagine a future in which they no longer exist, and then create a short message that conveys the life

to compose the words for which you will be remembered and write a draft. Once you have completed
your draft choose two cards for your epitaph and place them on top of each other. Gently pick up the
letters of the metal stamps and hammer your epitaph letter by letter. Once you have completed your
lettering, you may place your epitaph in the cemetery. Keep the second copy for yourself. When
viewing this work from left to right the first thing I noticed was the description of the work of art I

epitaph; these materials consist of paper, pencils, and clips. Next, moving past the table to the right,
there are seven rows of thin white wires, which are placed into the wall. Then clipped onto the wires

Importance Of Polite Speech
People use polite speech to greet people or either to start something like a conversation with friends or
strangers and to express their gratitude to someone. Some people don t really like polite speech since
it never helped them out or they thought of polite speech as something unnecessary to life; however,
other people would think otherwise because polite speech is kind away to talk to someone or address
someone or even get what you want from someone like making someone go somewhere or even
tagging along to a party. This demonstrates that polite speech as a big function in today s society
because everyone uses polite speech to get something. Polite speech can used as a way to persuade
someone into doing what they want or getting something important. Polite speech can be used to start
a conversation or keep the conversation going. Polite speech can be used to get information from
someone or getting out of a sticky situation. Polite speech can used as a way to persuade someone into
doing what they want or getting something important. People in today s society use polite speech to
lower the guard of a person so that they can talk them into doing an activity or helping themselves out.
For example, Henry got three tickets to go to a concert and that person doesn t want to go alone to the
concert so he decides to persuade his two friends that got nothing better to do. The way Henry
persuades them is when he gets both of their attention he says How s the weather

Film Analysis Of The Boy In The Striped Pajamas
In the Film, The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, Directed by, Mark Herman takes place during World War
II. The main characters are Bruno, a German boy who is the son of an SS officer that is played by Asa
Butterfield, and Shmuel a Jewish boy who is captured inside a concentration camp, played by Jack
Scanlon. This film is art because it does an amazing job of portraying how they treated people in the
camps thus making you feel anger and sympathy.
To help Shmuel, Bruno dug a hole under the fence and dressed like the people inside the concentration
camp to help him find his father who he hasn t seen in days. Bruno, being the son of an SS officer is
forbidden to form any relationships with Jews and even more going near the camps. The final scene of
the movie starts out with the camera showing dark clouds with a loud sound of thunder and the
pouring rain making the audience feel a sense of worries and sadness. The next shot, shows the boys
being pushed and struggling through the crowd of men walking in the mud with wet dirty clothes. The
director makes it this way so that we see as much as the kids are, making the audience anxious and
wonder where the boys are going to be directed next. The boys are being led by Jewish guards towards
the gas chambers, showing that guards are also Jewish is makes it more depressing because they are
leading their own kind to their death. It cuts back to Bruno s father, Ralf realizes his son is missing
and he might be at the camp. A shot of Bruno s

Affordable Care Act and the Effect on the Economy Essay
Affordable Care Act and the effect on the economy The Affordable Care Act, also called Obama Care,
was signed into law by president Barrack Obama, on March 23, 2010 (Erickson, Scott 1). What
exactly is the Affordable Care Act? It was a legislation that addressed the idea that all Americans
should have access to affordable health care. The act was passed only after intense political battles in
Congress, and as the legislation lingers through installment enhancements there is a great deal of
doubt developing.
Many were faulted into believing that the health care reform would create 4 million jobs and nearly

Therefore, many businesses will be forced to hire part time or seasonal employees instead of fulltime.
According to many economists, this bill raises many questions as to why jobs will be eliminated along
with reduced wages and hours. According to the Congressional Budget office, this law will reduce the
amount of labor used in the economy by nearly half (The Budget). This is because many businesses
would prefer to hire part time employees or seasonal in order to bypass benefiting the worker. If a
company hires full time employers they will qualify for health benefits, which will result in higher
expenses for the owner, cutting wages and forgoing new hires. An example of this expenditure lies

Descriptive Essay About Stress
Memoir Assignment Utter bewilderment fills those curious about the past, but the ones who make an
attempt to relate it to the future; are the ones who possess a blessing, yet a curse. Those who wonder
about the future have all experienced one thing; stress. Stress is present in all life, including mine, but
the feeling is much more potent in some than others. It is taken upon my soul to hate when others
make assumptions about my personal stress, without knowing the cause... which has occurred from
the time I stepped on this planet. Personally speaking, stress is not present in my life for the reasons
many might think, such as school and homework. The ones who assume those things about myself
have only etched my bare surface. Lost in my thoughts, I slammed the door behind me, as I exited my
home and waved over to my friend who stood in my driveway; patiently waiting with his loving
german shepherd. I skipped along the yellow brick pathway: laid by the previous owners, and then

grandmother lives across the street from me in a luxurious, stone home, concealed in pine trees, as he
then visits me when he is at his grandfather s. The regular street is surrounded by expensive homes
with impeccable gardening. My favorite of which is a house with an intricate fountain in the middle of

Fasting glucose may fail to explain the positive relationship between HbA1c and CVD and mortality
(Selvin et al.,2010).Correction for classical risk factors (including smoking, dyslipidaemia,
inflammation) explain the relationship better (van t Riet et al., 2012), suggesting that a shared
mechanism may drive the increase in HbA1c levels. In the glycation pathway, oxidative stress can
increase glycation in two ways, by promoting glucose aut oxidation or by fructosamine oxidation
leading to increased AGEs production (mainly CML). The first mechanism, the Wolff pathway,
suggests that in the presence of oxidative stress, especially transition metal ions, glucose can get
autoxidised and produce a oxoaldehydes (like methylglyoxal). The oxoaldehyde ... Show more content

The second pathway is not completely independent from the first,as in this, the Amadori product
(fructosamine) reacts with oxidative agents, like hydroxyl radicals, and undergoes modifications that
lead to the formation of carboxymethyllysine (CML), one of the main AGEs (Ahmed et al., 1986,
Booth et al., 1997, Thorpe and Baynes, 2003). The hydroxyl radicals can be produced either by
transition metal catalysed oxidation or by glucose autoxidation (Hunt and Wolff, 1991). This close
interaction between glycation and oxidation leads to the development of the term glycoxidation, which
describes the fact that AGEs are produced mostly from the interaction of these two processes (Baynes,
1991). Although indications and potential mechanisms are in place to suggest an active involvement of
oxidative stress in protein glycation in normoglycaemia and hence the increase in the risk of chronic
diseses, so far little evidence is available to support such a hypothesis.
MECHANISM OF AGES
AGEs mediate their tissue effects through three main mechanisms: (1) Cross linking extracellular
(matrix) proteins thereby affecting tissue mechanical properties (Zieman et al., 2004) (2) Cross linking
intracellular proteins thus altering their physiological functions(Bidasee et al., 2004) and (3) binding
to their cell surface receptor rage to inducing multiple intracellular signalling cascade (Neeper et

Essay on Class, Socialization, and Politics
Elections are at the core of the American political system. They are the way we choose our
government, the source of government authority, and a means by which the people can influence
public policy. For most Americans, voting is the only form of political participation. Essential
questions to ask concerning these issues are: Who votes and why? What influences people to become
voters? And what influences how they vote? It is important to approach these issues from a
sociological standpoint addressing such matters as socialization and social stratification.
Socialization is a gradual process that takes place as we grow up. It is the process that aids in

(Introduction to Sociology Pg. 222) Within this class system are three broad overlapping categories: a
working class, a middle class, and an upper class. People are placed within these categories based on
their occupation, income, and wealth. The working class receives the lowest income and fills blue
collar jobs in factories and farms, as well as white collar positions like clerical and secretarial jobs in
offices. The middle class consists of professionals like teachers, engineers, small business people, and
skilled workers. The upper class, often called the elite or ruling class is composed of those who run
our major economic and political institutions and receive the highest earnings for doing so. Class as
reflected in education, income, and occupation, does influence people s attitudes on a variety of issues.
People in the working class tend to be liberal in wanting greater economic equality and more
programs dealing with social welfare. This liberalism on economic issues contrasts strongly with their
ideas on civil liberties. Members of the middle class tend to be more conservative in their economic
views and more liberal on issues such as free speech and respect for civil rights. Therefore, class
attitudes on political questions are both liberal and conservative. The problem with figuring out how
these various characteristics that divide the population influences a person s political behavior is that

Ethics, Law Ethics And Ethics
When I hear the word ethics, the first thing that comes to my mind is the moral code, standards or
values on how we should act as person, these are the rules by which we make decisions between right
and wrong or good and bad. Therefore, we based on these rules to make judgments. If a person doesn t
follow those moral standards or values we automatically think that person is a bad person or vice
versa. We find ethical standards in everywhere we go. There are Medical ethics, Law ethics, Business
ethics and many more but I want to focus right now on Business Ethics. It is important that every
business has a moral code to follow. This will help not only the employees but also the customers of
the company to know, appreciate and respect the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By using this ethical procedure that I am going to describe later it will allow your company to achieve
all its organizational goals while protecting and staying honest to not only its employees but to its
customers. In fact, this will allow the company to make sure if it s personal and organizational
objectives are line up.
Every business should have some unique features that constitute its aims. There are some features that
I think every company should have...
1.Good business skills: By this, I mean that shareholders, board of directors, CEOs, managers in the
company should have experience and knowledge on how to run a business. Not every person can run a
business. They should know what they are doing; they should know how to make smart decisions that
will benefit the business.
2.Social Responsibility: By this, I mean that every business should not only focus on making profits
but on how to help society. Although making money is the motivation that keeps a company going but
it is essential that the organization value also the society and the people that help the company keep
going.
3.Human Satisfaction: By this, I mean that every business should find ways on how to satisfy their
clients, employees, suppliers, etc. because a happy client is a happy business. If a
client/supplier/employee is not happy with the service provided, keep in mind that he/she is not going

Automotive Industry Competitive Structure and Resources WS3A7 Team 1 MBAo221 Indiana
Wesleyan University ADM 534 An oligopoly is defined by Keat and Young (2009) as, A market in
which there is a small number of relatively large sellers. The auto industry is considered to be to an
oligopoly because there are a large number of sellers, thus leaving the consumer only a certain number
of companies from which to purchase an automobile. The major manufacturers include Ford, Chrysler,
General Motors (GM), Toyota, and Renault/Nissan. According to Taylor (2012), profits are going to

The front line workers in manufacturing, production, and sales of the auto industry generally require
minimal education and receive on the job skill training. These workers may have a high school
diploma and great variance in skill level for manufacturing and sales. They will receive the training
needed on the job and their wages will not greatly vary; therefore, the effect of changes in training and
wages for those workers of the industry would be considered minimal in changes to the supply curve.
For this group, advances in technology would have a greater impact. In reviewing the labor supply for
the business segment of the automobile industry such as business management, engineering, and
marketing, this is the population of the industry which must: understand and keep track of changing
consumer demands, understand how to maximize opportunity for growth, how to forecast, how to
market, and be innovative in design and features of automobiles as technology continues to advance
and the market remains competitive. According to the Consumer Population Survey (CPS), in 2011
the U.S. Labor Force, age 25 and older, with only a high school education made up over three and a
half million potential laborers; while in the same year, those unemployed with a college degree
equated to around two million (Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2012). Therefore, the total

George Washington As A General Essay
George Washington as a General.
George Washington was commander in chief of the continental army during the American
revolutionary war. Although some argue that George Washington was an excellent leader, others argue
that he didn t know what he was doing and that it was out of luck that he won the revolutionary war,
George Washington was without a doubt a fine general, because George Washington played roles in
which he showed exemplified character and leadership, he stuck by his men and led the colonial
forces to victory over the British and became a hero, he and his continental army spread ideals of
freedom, liberty and showed there is hope for new heroes in the world.

General Washington stuck by his soldiers through integrity. As explained in the article, lessons in
leadership from George Washington, by Major Graham H. Bernstein. Bernstein says, integrity is more
than personal honesty and morality. It is also necessary to developing trust between the leader and the
followers. Through this point, Washington and his soldiers developed a friendship with each other.
They either work together or end up nowhere. George Washington like an effective leader,
communicated an inspiring vision to him and his followers and together they choose to live it. His
followers believed in Washington and Washington believed in his followers. With hard work and
devotion, Washington and his soldiers would win the war as a team. The article also explains
Washington s tireless commitment to his troops; he did not leave his soldiers once during a conflict
and he endured the same pain as his men did. Washington shows faithfulness to his soldiers and his
nation. Washington knew his army was under trained and that they were going against the toughest
militia there was at the time, but he still chooses to stick with his soldiers and not flee the scene. His
forgoing observations point the picture of a leader who inspired the confidence of the people he led.
Finally, Washington and his Continental Army, spread ideals of freedom, liberty and showed there are
heroes in this world. The British not allowing the colonies freedom bothered America,

Essay on With the setting of the sun
With the setting of the sun
In F. Scott Fitzgerald s novel, The Great Gatsby, there is a constant feeling of movement and the desire
to get away. Nick, Gatsby, Wilson,
Tom and Daisy all move, or have the intention of moving. Not only does this movement seem to
foreshadow events in the book, but it also seems to lead to the conclusion that society as a whole in
the 1920 s was rather unstable and was undergoing constant change. Not all the characters move in the
same way, and this shows how different their backgrounds and lifestyles are. The main movement
seems to be from west to east. Throughout the decades man is said to be progressing through the steps
of evolution and toward the setting sun, or east to west. The characters ... Show more content on

Nick says, [h]e talked a lot about the past and
I gathered that he wanted to recover something, some idea of himself perhaps, that had gone into
loving Daisy. (117) This shows how time could never change his dream, and that Gatsby feels that if
he talks about the past then he will be able to change the future for the better. The sun also stands for
power and greatness, which made Jay Gatsby shine right through Jimmie Gatz. He starts of engulfed
in darkness, as his dream does not exist. From there he seems to be obsessed with this reverie, and
effectively kills off Jimmie Gatz and creates Jay Gatsby.
This new personality is formed when the sun rises, bathing him in light. Jay Gatsby sprang from his
Platonic conception of himself (104), and even with this change he still believed that the rock of the
world was founded securely on a fairy s wing. (105) This new light blinds the people that look at him,
and covers up his old self. Although it covers him, some people like Mr. Sloane see him as
Jimmie Gatz, and are disgusted by it. The first time Tom meets Gatsby is when he, Mr. Sloane and a
young woman stop by his house while out riding. Gatsby tells Tom that he knows Daisy, to which
Tom states later, I may be old fashioned in my ideas but women run around too much these days to
suit me. They meet all kinds of crazy fish. (110)

My Family Holiday Essay
Charlotte McIntyre Today was going to be one most irritating day for my family and we didn t know
it. We thought our family holiday was going great there hadn t been any of the arguments that cause
my mother to say that it pack everything we are going back home, i have had enough . Even if she had
said that i would highly doubt that she would get the car all packed to drive ten hour back down the
road. Today is the last full day of our trip so we decided to visit friends of my mum and dad s, they
lived around an hour away from the holiday park so we got all ready to set of on our little trip.
Finally manage to get all ready and we all climb into our car. So we set of driving along the little road
out of the holiday park that led onto the main road. Driving along happily looking out the window at
all the brightly green grassed fields and watching the cars passing. We were just about at our
destination, we turn up this turn off and drove underneath a huge bridge. The road was so curvy and i
could feel my stomach being shaken around like a mixing blender, finally we got of that road. I
noticed a sign that said welcome to portsmouth
My dad s face look amazed and filled with joy that we have managed to get there without any
problem, well he spoke to soon. Around the corner we went past a few pubs and restaurants they look
very run down but anyway we reached a set of traffic lights and we ended up getting stuck at the red
light. It felt like everyone and there

Essay about The Lovely Bones Movie vs Book
Peter Jackson s 2009 film, The Lovely Bones, is based off of the New York Times bestseller novel
written by Alice Sebold. Both the book and the movie adaptation tell the story of a young, 14 year old
girl named Susie Salmon who is brutally murdered by her neighbor. In both versions, Susie narrates
her story from the place between Heaven and Earth, the in between, showing the lives of her family
and friends and how each of their lives have changed since her murder. However, the film adaptation
and the original novel differ in the sense of the main character focalization throughout, the graphic
explanatory to visual extent, and the relationship between the mother and father. Throughout Jackson s
film adaptation, the primary character ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the novel, the murder and rape of Susie Salmon is intensively described, ...cut into pieces... blood
soaked into the soft, wet earth... leaving no question in the reader s mind as to what was happening or
might have happened (Novel, Chapters 2 3). While in the movie version of the book, the murder and
rape scene is not showed at all, only having to be assumed by showing Mr. Harvey, the murderer,
bathing with his entire bathroom covered in blood. Also, the movie doesn t mention rape at all, only
that Susie was murdered, while the book is specific in saying that she was first raped, and then
murdered (Movie). Towards the end of the movie, Susie enters the body of Ruth Connors, Ray s best
girl friend and a medium to the spirit world, while her and Ray are visiting the sink hole in their
neighborhood, and kisses Ray (Movie). In the novel, Susie actually has sex with Ray when she enters
the body of Ruth, with all details being explained explicitly. The relationship between Susie s mother
and father throughout the film adaptation of the novel was complicated, but not as complicated as the
actual novel. In the novel, after Susie s death, the fighting between the mother, Abigail, and the father,
Jack, becomes excessive and repetitive eventually leading to Abigail having an affair with the
detective of her daughter s murder case. She eventually leaves her home and family and moves to
work in a Californian winery

General Anesthetic Essay
General anesthetic is a universal analgesic administered to the body perioperatively during surgical
and medical procedures to alleviate or numb pain (P.Garcia et al. 2010). It works by ceasing sensation,
immobilizing the patient and causing unconsciousness in the individual (Alkire et al. 2008). The exact
mechanism of action of general anesthesia is not entirely known, however, it s theorized that several
underlying mechanisms are responsible for its analgesic effects (B.Antikowiak 2001).
These mechanisms all work to either inhibit excitatory signals or excite inhibitory signals in the CNS
by modulation of several ion channels or by disruption of cell function causing analgesia (P.Garcia et
al. 2010). This is done by alteration of membrane proteins resulting in modulation of Na+ channels

Garcia et al.2010) .By increasing the activity of the GABAA inhibitory receptors by allosteric
modulation through anesthetic binding, there is a greater sensitivity in GABA ion channels and
therefore inhibitory signals, blocking the cessation of pain transmission through the CNS (P.Garcia et
al. 2010).
Correspondingly general anesthetics is also theorized to interact with the ligand gated NMDA
excitatory ion channels resulting in its inhibition (Pleuvry 2008).
This inhibition causes a disruption in excitation signaling by disallowing the polarization of the cell
(Pleuvry 2008).
Furthermore it was also thought that anesthetic could cause alterations in the membrane lipid bilayer
through the fluidization of the phosopholid heads (Weir 2006). This fluidization was said to disrupt
ion channels that transverse through the membrane impairing the ability of the cell to function and
therefore impede cells signaling (Weir

Costs Of Globalization And Localization
Globalization and localization are two conflicting trends in international politics today. Globalization
is the spread of peoples, activities, norms, ideas, goods, services, and currencies from one area of the
world to another. (Rosenau 15) Localization is the narrowing of horizons and the confinement of
peoples, activities, norms, ideas, goods, services, and currencies to a particular geographic area.
(Rosenau 16) Globalization and localization affect the world s countries in three main areas, politics,
economics, and culture. Both globalization and localization have many benefits, as well as many
costs.

Participation in global organizations also undermines political autonomy of countries.
At the same time that globalization of the world is increasing, there are also strong localization
sentiments. Many things can be gained by the emphasis of local distinctiveness in politics, culture, and
economy. Politically, localization gives governmental autonomy to nations. Countries can spend all
their time and effort on programs and policies that emphasize their priorities. Economically, the
activities of producers and consumers are constricted to the country, which provides support for
domestic businesses and full consumption of the goods they produce. Culturally, localization gives
nations a rich sense of heritage and strengthens traditional customs and ideas. (Rosenau 17)
Localization serves to strengthen individual countries.
While there are benefits to localization, there are also costs. Localization decreases international trade
and investment which decreases the amount and variety of goods and services available to people.
Localization also prevents new customs and ideas from entering a country that could enrich their
culture. Without participation in international political organizations, a country is without allies and
support in times of military or economic crisis.
Globalization and localization can best be understood by examining current events. One of the most
prevalent examples of globalization today is evident in the first

  • 2. Characteristics Of A Good Friend A good friend Friendship is such a strong bond of relationship without which a person s life is an execration. It is not hard for me to believe a person without a relative but it is hard for me to even imagine of a person without any good friend. A good friend fill up the vacuum which no family members can. No matter how close bond a person share with the family, there is always a limit beyond which a person cannot express their thoughts or confess about their problems to family members. A good friend remain unaffected by these limits and a person can pour their heart out in front of them. A friend plays a very poignant role in a person s life. There are many characteristics of a good friend. One of those characteristics is loyalty. A person can never be considered a good friend if he or she is not loyal. That s the reason why a dog is considered to be man s best friend. A good friend is someone who will remain loyal and stick with us even during bad phase of our life. When a person is strike upon by adversity, disappointment surrounds from all directions and darkness engulf a person s happy life then only a good friend comes as a ray of hope to illuminate a person s life and rescue them from being drown in the calamity. For example, during bad times, failure in exams, rejection in job, family problems, break up; a good friend support us morally, physically and financially and help us to relive ... • 3. Characteristics Of Psychopathy And Antisocial Disorder Characteristics of Psychopathy vs Antisocial Disorder Dennis Metz University of South Florida Characteristics of Psychopathy vs Antisocial Disorder Psychopathy is defined as a disorder of personality and antisocial disorder is primarily behaviorally based. Interestingly these disorders are considered co morbid, because they can be present simultaneously within in patient but are not the same (Werner, Few, Bucholz, 2015). This paper will discuss the literature for psychopathy and antisocial disorder, any relevant theories, and areas in need of further research. Psychopathy is defined as the suffering of the mind (Juni, 2014). Psychopathy diagnoses of people who do not understand why their actions are unacceptable do not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One individual with psychopathic personality disorder is not necessarily antisocial, and an individual with antisocial disorder does not always meet the diagnostic criteria of psychopathy (Juni, 2014). It is estimated the general population suffering from antisocial disorder range between 1% 4% and .2% 3.3% for people who had a situation within the past twelve months (Werner, Few, Bucholz, 2015). These results are based on patients who are participants of communities, or clinical populations and are supplemented from criminal populations when necessary. The patients were all diagnosed before the age of fifteen. Gender also plays a role because men are three to five times more likely to be diagnosed with either antisocial disorder or psychopathy disorder including 6% of men, and 2% of women (Werner, Few, Bucholz, 2015). Even forensic data shows a higher prevalence between male psychopathy and antisocial disorders than their female counterparts. The Psychodynamic Diagnostic Manual (PDM) stresses the underlying psychodynamic aspects which does not focus on the antisocial behavior as much as a preoccupation with interpersonal power (Juni, 2014). This statement makes clear distinction between psychopathy and antisocial disorder because psychopaths are more concerned with power than antisocial behaviors around others. The criteria related to antisocial behavior patterns include low social intelligence and power impulse control (Juni, 2014). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Chaos Theory Research Paper Chaos has been studied for centuries. It has grown into its own branch of mathematics and sciences since the 1960 s. It has been shown that chaos is around us in our everyday lives and has also branched out into other mathematics and sciences which has lead to more research, new theories and studies. The first thing that should be mentioned for chaos in our everyday life should be the weather and weather predictions since the chaos theory was based on the studies of meteorologist Edward Lorenz. Weather prediction is only possible short term. A slight disturbance in the atmosphere can completely change the weather. In order to predict long term conditions, scientists would need to be able to measure the atmosphere and even the oceans with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Our bodies contain chaos throughout from heartbeats to lungs to brain activity. The beating heart can be described as chaotic as the beats are usually different and depend on conditions such as exercise, stress or even emotional state. Heartbeats in a healthy heart are supposed to have slight variations. This is one way how doctors can determine if a heart has disease. The chaos is not there rather in a diseased heart, the beats are constant and predictable with no slight variations, or are on the opposite end and are wildly erratic. Dr. Ary L. Goldberger, of Boston, MA., is doing extensive research on heart rates and chaotic patterns. Dr. Goldberger was able to show fractal patterns in heart rates. A heart rate is quite complex and does show signs of self similarity but does break down when it becomes diseased. Fractal geometry is seen in the heart as well as the circulatory system. The first place that fractal geometry can be seen in the circulatory system are in veins and arteries along with the heart muscles. The veins, arteries and heart muscles actually protect the circulatory system from the strong and violent pumping of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

National Geographic.) emphasizes the dangers that are associated with prolonged stress that we experience in our everyday lives, and situations that we expose ourselves to. In the documentary Sapolsky travels to Africa, there he studies the baboons that live in the wild to see how they live, react, and respond to their environment. Like humans, the baboons also have their own social structures that determines who is the top baboon s are, and as the social structure declines what baboons fall at the lower end of the social structure. This can be related to humans, because like the baboons we have our upper class, upper middle class, lower middle class, working class, and poor (What is social class. (n.d.). Retrieved September 2, 2015, from http://udel.edu/~cmarks/What is social class.htm) While like humans, baboons in these groups that Sapolsky studied also are categorized by the same type of social structure, the higher the social rank the lower the stress, and the lower the social rank the higher the stress. He also emphasized that while one might have a lower social class ranking, they aren t necessarily considered high stress. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The story is both touching, entertaining and interesting. Foremost of the McKinsey 7S model is the element of strategy. Monsters Inc., as a business company, derives its product from scared children to produce energy. The children, as a source of energy were assigned one employee each called the scarer, and permanently assisted by another employee to handle the technical aspects of the job including recording and the filing of reports. At the beginning of the story, Monster Inc believes that scaring children is the most viable source of energy. The highest reading reflected on the meter scale supply the most amount of enegry. In the movie, the new discovery shifted the lead work from Sully to Mike. Their turnabout roles stemmed from the fact that Mike is more suited to extract laughter from children than Sully. Personally, a new discovery of the company, or in this case a better one, can be very enriching for a person. This could affect the output of the company into greater heights and create better products. If not for discoveries, like in this case, research can also help the company perform economically for better results or output. The second element is structure. The movie presented a direct structure from source to extractor to consolidation or reports to management. Even with the discovery of a new energy source, Monsters Inc maintained its operational structure. • 8. How Joss Whedon Does Not Have An Origin As Dramatic Joss Whedon does not have an origin as dramatic as some comic book heroes, but his story is almost as unbelievable in filmmaking today: a transformation from a typecast fan favorite to the writer and director of some of the most successful movies of all time. He began his career as a lesser known but undeniably talented sitcom writer in 1988, but his fame in Hollywood really began when Marvel sought him out in 2010 to write and direct The Avengers. Whedon s varied experience in the movie industry, unique skill set, and passions for writing and creating made him the perfect fit for the project; and they have helped him become one of the most admired screenwriters of the 21st century. He knows the creative process that works best for him when writing, and he used this same process when writing the script for The Avengers. He believes that writing from a director s point of view, being a willing and able collaborator, and finding balance in characters will lead to a great film. Applying these constants to his writing process for The Avengers, Whedon created a coherent and compelling story that balances the characters heroism with their humanity. Before he begins writing, Whedon has a certain environment that fosters his creative process best. While he has always liked working in the early morning best, Whedon s schedule has become much more unreliable since becoming a father. You write whenever you can, he told Steve Weintraub of Collider. Whenever you re given the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Animal agriculture has caused mass extinction of species, the melting of Arctic sea, and the collapse of the world fisheries. According to many environmentalist, the earth is currently facing the greatest mass extinction of all in history roughly a thousand times greater than ever before. The Event Management Industry Is An Ideal Location For The... onment Economic Grandezvous largely competes and collaborates in the event management industry, which provides significant opportunities on a local, national and international scale. Toronto acts as an ideal location for the company as the city serves as a business and political hub for the province, and the country. In 2013 Toronto s Total GDP jumped too over $290 billion, making up just over 15% of Canada s total GDP (Toronto Market Sizes, n.d). Of that total, consumers spent almost $10 billion on hotels and catering in the city, and over $13 billion on leisure and recreation (Toronto Market Sizes, n.d.). This figure likely includes the industry s whole span from mega events such as the Pan Am Games, to small scale corporate and personal events. On nation level research firm IBIS World estimated earlier this year that the Canadian event planning and trade show sectors would generate $1 billion in revenue in 2014 (Trade Shows Event ..., 2014). This marked an increase of 2.2% over the previous year, however the company noted the industry s success was heavily based on corporate spending and the state of the economy (Trade Shows Event ..., 2014). This alludes to the fact that many organizations likely see spending on event management as non essential, meaning event management firms may need to heavily stress their value proposition. As stated, while Grandezvous does operate in the event management industry as a whole they are largely focused on the promotion of events on web 2.0 applications. According to many economists, this bill raises many questions as to why jobs will be eliminated along with reduced wages and hours. According to the Congressional Budget office, this law will reduce the amount of labor used in the economy by nearly half (The Budget). This is because many businesses would prefer to hire part time employees or seasonal in order to bypass benefiting the worker. Those who wonder about the future have all experienced one thing; stress. Stress is present in all life, including mine, but the feeling is much more potent in some than others. It is taken upon my soul to hate when others make assumptions about my personal stress, without knowing the cause... which has occurred from the time I stepped on this planet. Personally speaking, stress is not present in my life for the reasons many might think, such as school and homework. The ones who assume those things about myself have only etched my bare surface. Lost in my thoughts, I slammed the door behind me, as I exited my home and waved over to my friend who stood in my driveway; patiently waiting with his loving german shepherd. In the glycation pathway, oxidative stress can increase glycation in two ways, by promoting glucose aut oxidation or by fructosamine oxidation leading to increased AGEs production (mainly CML). The first mechanism, the Wolff pathway, suggests that in the presence of oxidative stress, especially transition metal ions, glucose can get autoxidised and produce a oxoaldehydes (like methylglyoxal). The oxoaldehyde ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The second pathway is not completely independent from the first,as in this, the Amadori product (fructosamine) reacts with oxidative agents, like hydroxyl radicals, and undergoes modifications that lead to the formation of carboxymethyllysine (CML), one of the main AGEs (Ahmed et al., 1986, Booth et al., 1997, Thorpe and Baynes, 2003). The hydroxyl radicals can be produced either by transition metal catalysed oxidation or by glucose autoxidation (Hunt and Wolff, 1991). This close interaction between glycation and oxidation leads to the development of the term glycoxidation, which describes the fact that AGEs are produced mostly from the interaction of these two processes (Baynes, 1991). Although indications and potential mechanisms are in place to suggest an active involvement of oxidative stress in protein glycation in normoglycaemia and hence the increase in the risk of chronic diseses, so far little evidence is available to support such a hypothesis. MECHANISM OF AGES AGEs mediate their tissue effects through three main mechanisms: (1) Cross linking extracellular (matrix) proteins thereby affecting tissue mechanical properties (Zieman et al., 2004) (2) Cross linking intracellular proteins thus altering their physiological functions(Bidasee et al., 2004) and (3) binding to their cell surface receptor rage to inducing multiple intracellular signalling cascade (Neeper et ... • 32. Essay about The Lovely Bones Movie vs Book Peter Jackson s 2009 film, The Lovely Bones, is based off of the New York Times bestseller novel written by Alice Sebold. Both the book and the movie adaptation tell the story of a young, 14 year old girl named Susie Salmon who is brutally murdered by her neighbor. In both versions, Susie narrates her story from the place between Heaven and Earth, the in between, showing the lives of her family and friends and how each of their lives have changed since her murder. However, the film adaptation and the original novel differ in the sense of the main character focalization throughout, the graphic explanatory to visual extent, and the relationship between the mother and father. Throughout Jackson s film adaptation, the primary character ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the novel, the murder and rape of Susie Salmon is intensively described, ...cut into pieces... blood soaked into the soft, wet earth... leaving no question in the reader s mind as to what was happening or might have happened (Novel, Chapters 2 3). While in the movie version of the book, the murder and rape scene is not showed at all, only having to be assumed by showing Mr. Harvey, the murderer, bathing with his entire bathroom covered in blood. Also, the movie doesn t mention rape at all, only that Susie was murdered, while the book is specific in saying that she was first raped, and then murdered (Movie). Towards the end of the movie, Susie enters the body of Ruth Connors, Ray s best girl friend and a medium to the spirit world, while her and Ray are visiting the sink hole in their neighborhood, and kisses Ray (Movie). In the novel, Susie actually has sex with Ray when she enters the body of Ruth, with all details being explained explicitly. The relationship between Susie s mother and father throughout the film adaptation of the novel was complicated, but not as complicated as the actual novel. In the novel, after Susie s death, the fighting between the mother, Abigail, and the father, Jack, becomes excessive and repetitive eventually leading to Abigail having an affair with the detective of her daughter s murder case. She eventually leaves her home and family and moves to work in a Californian winery ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 34. General Anesthetic Essay General anesthetic is a universal analgesic administered to the body perioperatively during surgical and medical procedures to alleviate or numb pain (P.Garcia et al. 2010). It works by ceasing sensation, immobilizing the patient and causing unconsciousness in the individual (Alkire et al. 2008). The exact mechanism of action of general anesthesia is not entirely known, however, it s theorized that several underlying mechanisms are responsible for its analgesic effects (B.Antikowiak 2001). These mechanisms all work to either inhibit excitatory signals or excite inhibitory signals in the CNS by modulation of several ion channels or by disruption of cell function causing analgesia (P.Garcia et al. 2010). This is done by alteration of membrane proteins resulting in modulation of Na+ channels causing their blockade and activation of K+ channels in the CNS ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Garcia et al.2010) .By increasing the activity of the GABAA inhibitory receptors by allosteric modulation through anesthetic binding, there is a greater sensitivity in GABA ion channels and therefore inhibitory signals, blocking the cessation of pain transmission through the CNS (P.Garcia et al. 2010). Correspondingly general anesthetics is also theorized to interact with the ligand gated NMDA excitatory ion channels resulting in its inhibition (Pleuvry 2008). This inhibition causes a disruption in excitation signaling by disallowing the polarization of the cell (Pleuvry 2008). Furthermore it was also thought that anesthetic could cause alterations in the membrane lipid bilayer through the fluidization of the phosopholid heads (Weir 2006). This fluidization was said to disrupt ion channels that transverse through the membrane impairing the ability of the cell to function and therefore impede cells signaling (Weir ... • 35. Costs Of Globalization And Localization Globalization and localization are two conflicting trends in international politics today. Globalization is the spread of peoples, activities, norms, ideas, goods, services, and currencies from one area of the world to another. (Rosenau 15) Localization is the narrowing of horizons and the confinement of peoples, activities, norms, ideas, goods, services, and currencies to a particular geographic area. (Rosenau 16) Globalization and localization affect the world s countries in three main areas, politics, economics, and culture. Both globalization and localization have many benefits, as well as many costs. Globalization is a predominant force in the world today. The development of the Internet and other far reaching communication media ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Participation in global organizations also undermines political autonomy of countries. At the same time that globalization of the world is increasing, there are also strong localization sentiments. Many things can be gained by the emphasis of local distinctiveness in politics, culture, and economy. Politically, localization gives governmental autonomy to nations. Countries can spend all their time and effort on programs and policies that emphasize their priorities. Economically, the activities of producers and consumers are constricted to the country, which provides support for domestic businesses and full consumption of the goods they produce. Culturally, localization gives nations a rich sense of heritage and strengthens traditional customs and ideas. (Rosenau 17) Localization serves to strengthen individual countries. While there are benefits to localization, there are also costs. Localization decreases international trade and investment which decreases the amount and variety of goods and services available to people. Localization also prevents new customs and ideas from entering a country that could enrich their culture. Without participation in international political organizations, a country is without allies and support in times of military or economic crisis. Globalization and localization can best be understood by examining current events. One of the most prevalent examples of globalization today is evident in the first ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
