American Students, I learned that that people s identity has a lot to do with how they perceive
minority and immigration. There are many things that Lee described that I find very accurate to the
answers of my interviewees. Lee mentioned that Asian American students are viewed as a model
minority, and there is this model minority stereotype that causes many teachers to expect greater
things from their Asian students. However, I discovered something interesting, that two of my Asian
interviewees actually believed in the stereotype, and thought of themselves as academically superior.
This is very true for my Asian American friend who said that she felt extremely proud to have the
American English accent and White culture, and at the same time having the intelligence of the Asian
brain. This can be related to the reading when one of the Korean students responded, We are smarter. I
mean, I don t think it s a stereotype look at our report cards. We are better, and we have to show it
(417). However, this is different with my peer s interview on his Asian friend who hates Math and

compared to other races, but she admitted that her accent prevents her from speaking her thoughts.

Music is so important nowadays. People who don t like music are considered weird to me, or maybe
just aren t like me. It helps us get distracted from things we are dealing with at the time. Like
problems at school or problems at home, either can be something music distracts us from. It can also

The face of poverty is changing in the United States. When someone mentions that a person is living
in poverty, we are inclined to think of a bum living on the street, eating at shelters, and using whatever
money they have for alcohol, drugs and tobacco. Usually we visualize this person as being a middle
aged male with drab clothing and a long beard. This description may have fit the average person living
in poverty or on the street a few years ago, but it is no longer a correct generalization. Children are the

Some people are born into stable families, so they have m ore opportunities than those that are born
into poverty. No matter how people feel toward the choices that the parents made, we can t hold this

One other thing society canít do is simply hand out money or food stamps to the families of these

be intended to feed a baby, but instead they could be used to buy food or items that a child will never

professional objectives with minimum of time and effort. Robbins and Hunsaker (1996) defined skill
as a system of behaviour that can be applied in a wide range of situations . Skills are needed in every
area of human endeavour. Individuals need a broad range of skill sets for attaining their career
objectives to suit every fast changing technology they need to work with in their respective
organizations. Basically there are two types of skills. They are soft skills and hard skills.
 Soft Skills: adaptable, motivator, good listener, team player, dependable, conscientious, punctual,

Stress is the term used to describe the physical, emotional, cognitive, and behavioral responses to

stress that people display such as Insecurity, loss of concentration, loss of memory, fatigue, difficulty
sleeping, loss of appetite, etc. But what causes stress? Researcher Lazarus studied that everyday life is
an important source of stress, he developed the daily hassles scale, so things that range from divorce
and death to even Christmas is thought as a contributor to stress. These three different stressors in

stressor is life changes such as losing your job, and finally, the third source of stress is major life
