Social Media s Influence On Marketing
Depending on the virtual assistant you hire, bookkeeping and accounting may be their forte.
Marketing Help
These days it is hard to underestimate the importance of marketing. Effective marketing is key to
success, especially in real estate. But social media marketing, content marketing, and ad
development and purchasing can all be very time consuming.
Content Marketing o We all know that content is king. We also know, or at least should, that unless
you are constantly posting new content to your website or blog, that you might as well not bother
with having one. Your virtual assistant can be a great help in finding, scheduling, and posting
robust content to your website and/or blog, freeing your marketing time up to write your own
original content.
Social Media o Social media marketing is so important these days. Whatever people are saying
about you and your company on social media is often the first impression prospective customers
and business associates get of you. Managing social media can be a huge challenge and another
way you can employee your virtual assistant to your advantage.
Advertising o Creating flyers and direct mail advertising pieces can also be a major drain on your
available time. But, it s so important to your business. Well, why not put this on your virtual
assistant as well?

Rc-12 Guardrail Essay
The need for accurate and timely intelligence is essential to intelligence collection. The military
continues research to improve near real time intelligence platform. The end state is to minimize the
amount of time between collection and analysis. After the Vietnam War, the National Security
Agency found the need for a mobile communications intelligence(COMINT) platform . A platform
that could communicate with ground stations. RC 12 Guardrail (GR) would forever change how
the militarycollected COMINT.
GR was first employed in 1971 to monitor troop movements in East Germany and Czechoslovakia.
Before 1971, the military used COMINT ground stations to collect signals intelligence and conduct
direction finding. Ground stations operated in hostile areas often putting Soldiers in harm s way.
Although airborne COMINT assets were available, they required a low altitude fly over target
areas to collect intelligence. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the near term, GR will continue to monitor the DMZ and provide collection in Operation
Resolute Support. As collection assets withdraw from Afghanistan, the Army will rely heavily on
GR to maintain situational awareness of the threats surrounding coalition forces. In the next 10
years, GR will remain the premier multi INT airborne platform for the Army. Northrupp will
most likely continue to develop GR to close the gap between near real time collection and
analysis. GR provides data to the Operational Ground System (OGS) along with 8 other airborne
ISR platforms. Because of the OGS capability, analyst now have access to the data faster than
before. As the complexities of the operational environment rise, the demand for real time
intelligence will continue to increase. Platforms such as GR will continue to make it possible for
intelligence professionals to provide commanders with an accurate picture of the

Using Technology Into An Organization
Culture View According to a recent LACCD memorandum beginning 2014 all employees will have
the opportunity to download their W2 forms directly from the Districts personnel page. The District
anticipates that this decision will lower their cost of printing and postage. It will also enable
employees to receive financial information quickly and electronically. However, one of the main
drawbacks with modifying the organization procedures is that some employees might feel
apprehensive to the change. The culture of an organization refers to the pattern of development
reflected in a society s system of knowledge, ideology, values, laws, and day to day ritual (Morgan,
120). In the case of LACCD they must understand how the changes in procedures might alter the
culture and shape the views of employees. The ability to integrate technology into an organization
depends on the employee s practices, values, and beliefs. It also depends on their ability to learn
how to use the technology and willingness to implement the technology. I believe that school
leaders should consider integrating technology into an organization in a slow and methodical
manner in order to help employees understand the new procedures and give them the opportunity to
adapt. This method of integration can help organizations implement their plan and lower employee
resistance. The resistance in implementing technology into an organization can significantly
increase if it has the potential to impact the

The Mosaic Covenant And The Abrahamic Covenant
Biblical covenant is legal term denoting a formal and legally binding declaration of benefits to
be given by one party to another, with or without conditions attached. (Arnold) Biblical covenant

The Narrative Of The Life Of Frederick Douglass
Revolutionary Freedom In 1845, an African American man named Frederick Douglass released a
thought provoking autobiography that would become a turning point in revolutionary change. The
Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass was the first autobiography Douglass had written
focusing on the real life struggles he has faced during his time spent in bondage. During his time, it
was not common for an African American to have the skills to read and write, and it was especially
uncommon to publish a novel revealing the truth of slavery, while it was still legal at that time.
Provoking revolutionary thought amongst his readers, this narrative will change the world in
ways of equality, speaking for the oppressed, and inducing the philosophical thought of what it
means to truly be free. Douglass believes in equality for all, which is not a typical concept for his
time. In the 1800 s, slavery was legal in the majority of the United States, where whites held all
the power whether it be politically, socially, or economically. Believing that all men were created
equal, Douglass was at a flummox when coming to the realization that he had been born into
slavery, seeing that his freedom has to be worked for, it will not be handed to him as it was to the
white men in his time. Proving to us the difference in the political standing of slaves and white
men, the orator states A representative could not be prouder of his election to a seat in the
American Congress than a slave on one of

Music containing sexual aspects has distinguished the American culture from other cultures, has
diversified us in every genre, and has become a consistent part of American life.
Therefore, Americans spend a considerable portion of their leisure time listening to music or
participating in activities that have music involved. A good portion of each musical genre uses
sexuality as the basis for their lyrics.Sexuality can be categorized into different groups that can help
us better understand the distinction between them. These groups pertaining to sexuality include;

Miranda has Puerto Rican parents which has had a major influence on his reasoning to blind cast
his shows.Hamilton won the Pulitzer prize and eleven tonys.
This piece targets sexuality in a form that is not used often. When people delve into history they
tend to look at our historical figures as a hero. People do not typically think of these people as
being flawed in their nature. This song demonstrates that
Hamilton was not a hero. He was a human and he made mistakes. In the context of the song, we
see him choose to make this choice. We see him regret it as well. This piece helps to create a
social construct and really change the meaning of what a hero is.
Without using music and sexuality in this case, we would have never got to really delve into the
flawed persona of Hamilton. This piece helps to advance the plot in unexpected ways. This score of
a Broadway show was composed about the story of our underrated founding father, Alexander
Hamilton. Although written in the 21st century by
Lin Manuel Miranda, the score targets the history of yesterday, set right as the American
Revolution events begin. Lin Manuel Miranda wanted to tell the story of yesterday by the people
of today. In his original casting of the show, each role was cast to a minority in our country, except
for the role of King George; who was given to Jonathan Groff, to offer some English historical
significance. This type of casting is still present in the show
today.

Money Laundering Is Used By Drug Dealers, Terrorists And...
Originally developed in the 1970 s, money laundering is a technique used to disguise the proceeds
of crime, and reintegrate them into apparently legitimate assets (Levi and Reuter 2006). Money
laundering is commonly used by drug dealers, terrorists and other corrupt organizations (Seymour
2008). Drug trafficking, smuggling and embezzlement are examples of criminal activities that
generate large amounts of illicit funds for criminal groups; the desire to legitimize these funds and
minimize detection stimulate the demand for money laundering schemes (Buchanan 2004).
Organizations try to make the money appear legal and legitimate in order to minimize the
possibility of being apprehended by authorities. Money laundering takes away the integrity of
licensed financial systems and associations and ultimately provides organized crime the money it
requires to perform additional criminal activities (Seymour 2008). There are 3 phases of money
laundering; Placement, Layering and Integration. Placement is fulfilled by transforming the sum of
cash obtained from criminal activities into a more movable and less dubious form. After this,
inserting these earnings into the mainstream economic system makes the money appear legitimate.
The purpose of this is to withdraw the illegal profits and isolate it from their illegal origins.
However, the laundering mechanism is most susceptible during placement because illicit pursuit
provokes large sums of cash, which is hefty and tough to obscure in

Essay on Themes in Woman Hollering Creek by Sandra Cisneros
Themes in Woman Hollering Creek by Sandra Cisneros Woman Hollering Creek is a book of
short stories published in 1991. The author, Sandra Cisneros, separated her book into three
sections. The section that will be analyzed is the first section where the narrators are female
children. Out of the many stories in section one, the three that will be focused on are, Mericans,
My Friend Lucy Who Smells Like Corn, and Barbie Q. The children in these three stories are all
lower class, Mexican American females. These stories have been described by Thompson as
Cisneros remembering her childhood, filled with no male figures, lack of close female friendships,
and poverty (415 417). Each story shares both similar themes and different... Show more content on

Another story that the theme of displacement shops up in is in Mericans. The narrator, Michaela,
and her brothers are waiting outside of a church in Mexico for their grandmother. An American
couple walks up to the church and Michaela notices right away that they are not from here
(Cisneros 2561). Michaela notices how the couple is dressed. Cisneros goes on to describe
ladies don t come to church dressed in pants...men aren t supposed to wear shorts (Cisneros
2561). The theme of alienation also appears in this story. Michaela and her brothers are alienated
from each other by gender. The two brothers call each other girl and sissy as though it was an
insult(Brady 1999). This makes Michaela very insecure and self conscious about herself. The
boys also taunt each other about crying since crying is what girls do , which is a stereotype
(Cisneros 2560). This makes Michaela very careful. She does not cry in fear that her brothers will
taunt her and will not play with her. Another story that deals with stereotypes is Barbie Q.
Thompson believes Cisneros writes about how Barbie represents the norm for the perfect
woman(1994). In Barbie Q Cisneros attacks artificial feminine stereotypes that are epitomized in
every Barbie doll (Thompson 1999). The narrator plays with a friend talking about dozens of outfits
that fit perfectly and having many friends. The narrator describes

Art Analysis Of Laughing Rembrandt
Laughing Rembrandt on the canvas is a young person with huge jaw and shaved face. With the
lined up upper teeth which are in sequent, he is in a cheerful position. Face lines limits the above
area of month and crossing the edge of the noise, apprehends more than the physiological
material world. The eyes are staring out like sensing the three dimensional living. Each one is
directing to a different perspective As his head tilts, long sloppy hair is dancing in the air and the
oscillation of the curved lines are stunning. It feels like the whole body is vibrating and the ups
and downs of the laughter is painted with brush. Anti shock rigid vest which is glossier represents
the high energy period of time during twenties. Lively brushwork on copper makes the artwork
wonderfully luminous. 2.Analysis of Form:
Thinner brush is used for sketching curve lines blending together which resonance with not stable
emotional state during early adulthood. The focal point is his lips as they are painted in a warmer
color. In addition to lips, the forehead and hair style are emphasized. Rembrandt deliberately has
illustrated the lower value using shades. Regarding to the shining spot on his right upper corner of
forehead, the color theme is a mixture of brown to grayer, using orange as a monochromatic color,
is shadowed with respect to the light source. As an impressionist artist, he painted warm analogous
color tends the viewer to advance. The painting is in biomorphic shape as it is

Gender Wage Gap Between Men And Women
You see charts and graphs of different types, shapes and colors used by writers all the time. But
have you ever thought of the reason for that or what role they have? Are they a critical piece in
the article or do they just sum up information and gather numbers in one place? To engage these
questions, I will consider the visual presentation of the gender wage gap between men and
women by different journalists. By the time you finish reading this essay, you will learn many
facts about the graphs, how they convey quantitative information, and how they differ from the
language. Aside form the graph s positives you should be aware of their potential for
manipulation and that they are not as reliable and unbiased as they might look. Writers always
search for effective means to represent their ideas and convey information to the audience. They
aim to be persuasive in their debates and draw a strong connection with the readers to affect them.
To approach the gender wage gap issue, some writers use only the language. In the article Fighting
The Gender Pay Gap, the author Carl Richard addresses the issue as a personal problem that he
discussed with his daughter and his friends. He draws a direct connection with the readers who link
that to their personal experiences. Also, Richard, through his words, is encouraging the audience to
start taking actions to solve this problem that affects many other women like his daughter. By the
advice directed to his daughter, he is sending an

Kevin Rudd Apology To Australia s Indigenous People
Prime Minister Kevin Rudd s apology to Australia s Indigenous people is in its own essence
addressed in a spoken form but has been transcribed into a written text. The speech was delivered at
the Parliament of Australia, House of Representatives by Kevin Rudd with the intentions to make
an apology to Indigenous Australiansin particular of the dreadful past of the Stolen Generations .
It was delivered to both a live audience as well as broadcast via the channel of television and radio
to a wider Australian audience, especially to the Aboriginal audience. He adopts an appropriate and
respectful tenor which in turns fosters a formal register to accommodate the solemnity of the topic.
Accordingly, it softens Rudd s relative social status to further give him creditability of his humble
tone. Whilst the topic relates to the catastrophe of the Stolen Generations the field of the transcript

He uses syntax favouring the antithesis of past and future with history and new page in the
history respectively to generate a cohesive tie along the speech. Similarly, he refers to history as

chosen underlying syntax. Accordingly, it also allows him to create coherent adhesive bond.
Furthermore, Rudd implements repetition and strings of parallelisms with statements in line 16
to 21 with we say sorry to emphasise his apologetic tenor and uses we to speak on behalf of the
past generations who caused the conflict. Along with it, he structures in the way of right
dislocation by placing we say sorry , the main point at the end of the syntax. Thus, it acts as a
cohesive tie to her speech which in turn aids the coherence of the text. These range of strategies

Essay about Ecstasy
Ecstasy is Methylene Dioxymethamphetamine, often abbreviated as MDMA. This drug is a
member of the same family of drugs that include amphetamine and LSD. I once believed that
ecstasy was a mixture of methamphetamine and LSD, but as I researched, I found out that it has its
own chemical structure. Ecstasy is not a mixtureof other drugs; it is something all its own.
Ecstasy alone makes people biased towards ecstasy without even doing the research necessary to
judge it. There are some 500,000 regular users of the drug Ecstasy in the United Kingdom alone.

In 1985 a small group of people sued the DEA to try and prevent them from doing so. This small
group of people failed due to an incident that had happened the year before. China White, a drug
sold to heroin addicts as a legal substitute, contained a poisonous impurity that caused a form of
severe brain damage. This caused the US Congress to pass a law allowing the DEA to place an
emergency ban on any drug that it felt might cause any danger to the public. MDMA was one of
the drugs banned on July 1, 1985. (Saunders p.8) The temporary ban lasted for one year only.
There was a hearing set up to decide what the final word would be on Ecstasy. At the end of the
case, the Judge recommended MDMA to be placed in a category that was not as restrictive. The
DEA would not back down from their decision, and ignored the recommendation given by the
judge. By placing MDMA in a less restrictive category it would have allowed the drug to be
manufactured and to be used for research.
In 1986 a non profit organization called The Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic
Studies, also known as MAPS, opened A Master File for MDMA. This complied with the
prerequisite for the licensing of any new drug. By doing this it allowed MAPS to conduct research
on MDMA. The FDA has approved human volunteers to be used for the research into the effects of
MDMA. The hearings began in 1993. (Saunders p.9)

They had obtained blood samples from Karen s Mother, Sisters, Children, and Ex Husband. They

this test was seeing if half of the DNA matched the known sample to Karen s family. When it came

Chris was now arrested. Prosecutors were confident that he would get convicted even without the

Analysis Of The Book The Magical Realism
1.The novel fits the description of magical realism because a lot of the concept in Bless Me,
Ultima seems realistic but at the same time some of the other concepts seem much exaggerated,
they are like images that can be imagined in our head, but in the book these things actually
happen in life. Oh, our sweet baby, we are coming home to you Aghhhhhhh! My brothers! I
screamed. I bolted up and found myself in bed. My body was wet with sweat, and my lips were
trembling. I felt a heavy sorrow gagging my heart, and it was hard to breath. Outside I heard the
owl cry in alarm. Someone was coming up the goat path. I jumped into my pants and raced out
into the cold night. There just coming over the slope of the hill were three dark figures (page 61
and 62). This excerpt from the book shows how Antonio was having a dream of his brothers and
that they were coming home but, when Antonio woke up, he realized that his brothers were
really home. In a way his dream was a way of foreshadow. 2.3.In Bless Me, Ultima the owls are
symbolic because the owl symbolizes Ultima s spirit. It was true that the owl was Ultima s
spirit. It had come with Ultima, and as men brought evil to our hills the owl had hovered over us,
protecting us (page 256). This extract from the book shows how the owl connected with Ultima
because the owl was an emblem of Ultima. In the book Ultima s owl plays the role of her spirit, It

Changing The Voting Age
In 2012, 62% of Americans that are elgible voters actually did vote. It should be our goal to have
a higher voting rate like in Belgium it s elgible voters are at 93% participation. Changing the
legal voting age from eighteen to sixteen won t change the participation rate. I believe the legal
voting age of eighteen needs to stay how it is because younger voters already have a small
outcome of voters and a voter younger than eighteen isn t truly an adult. If we change the votingage
now it will only hurt than help.
There is only 38% of younger population that did vote in 2012. So if there isn t a difference in
age the numbers will still be very small. Letting people a couple years younger vote, won t help
boost the participation, but make the younger voters have even lower voting rates. I believe that
younger people of the age of sixteen most likely are too young to understand everything about
politics. So if they cannot comprehend the politics of it all then they sure won t vote if they don t
even know. The small percentage of voters is just one fact that proves changing the legal voting age
won t change anything for the participation of voting Americans. ... Show more content on

Pandora s Box, Deucalion And Pyrrha, And The Trojan War
Greek myths either explain a creation, or tell a moral. The most interesting myths are the ones that

Mounties scored two tries in the final four minutes, and Mitch Cornish locked up the scores on the
fulltime buzzer with an outstanding conversion from out wide.
Cornish and Cody Walker stood out for their respective teams in a gamethat had twelve tries, a sin
binning, a Latrell Schaumkel hatrick, and a controversial yet exciting final five minutes.
This match marked the return Kirisome Auva a, who positively contributed by setting up two tries
and scoring one himself.

Walker dropped the ball off the kickoff and Mounties took full advantage through Stewart Mills,
who was hit a hole after receiving a Cornish pass.
Mounties led 10 6 after 25 minutes and had been the dominant side, but they would concede 16
points before they would next touch the ball.
Auva a put his stamp on the game when he made a powerful linebreak and fended off a defender
in his 30 metre raid, before passing the ball off to Schaumkel to score his second try.
Off the kickoff set, Auva a was in on the action again when he found some space down the left

Analysis Of Marble Chappe
Marble Champ by : Alessandra Bontomasi
Have you ever said to yourself I give up right away and don t even try? Well there is a saying that
is when you work hard it will pay off, and in the story Marble Champ by Gary Soto the main
character, Lupe Merdrano never stopped working hard and it lead her to a big prize at the end.
The reasons for this is that she was not good at sports first, then she practiced and practised, then it
all paid off in the future.
The first reason that hard work pays off is because in the beginning she was very bad at sports. But
the thing is she would say to herself, I will never be good at sports. The first piece of evidence is
that she can t run very fast, for example in the story Marble Champ she would try and try to get
her body to move faster in the fifty yard dash and she would never beat anyone. So, this shows
that she is not good at sports because in most sports you need to run, skate or other movements
that involve your legs, also she is not very fast when using her legs. My second piece of evidence
is that she scored a goal for the other team, when playing soccer, by her kicking it into her own
teams net. This shows that she didn t even know which net was and you need to know that to play a
sport. My third example is that she can t kick a ball in the right direction and can t kick it to well.
This says that she really once again doesn t know how to use her legs for the right purpose . Even if
she is very good at using her brain

Conducting A Norm Experiment
In today s society, norms are expected by everyone. According to the book Essentials of
Sociology a Down To Earth Approach, Hansen states that norms are expectations of right behavior
(Hansen, 2014). There are also two forms of norms that may be strictly enforced or not. There is
folkways and mores. Folkwaysare norms that aren t strictly enforced while mores are strictly
enforced for essential thought to care values or the well being of a group (Hansen, 2014). Along
with a norm and the two types, there may also be reactions to it. These reactions may be positive
or negative and termed as sanctions. Sanctions are either expressions of an approval given to
people for upholding norms or expression of disapproval for violating them (Hansen, 2014). In
conducting a norm experiment, the terms were put to a test. The experiment consisted of an
observed norm violation and an individual norm violation. The experiments resulted in what I had
hypothesized. My hypothesisconsisted of sanctions of the norms that were conducted.
In the observe norm violation experiment, it was concluded to result in negative sanction. The
experiment consisted of a friend of mine and I ordering our lunch at In n Out. It was my friend,
Denise s turn to order her meal. Denise ordered a double double with no cheese, no thousand island
spread, a single patty and only onions, tomatoes, and lettuce. The employee looked at her in a
dumbfound manner and confirmed her ordered as a hamburger. Denise was not

The hero we all wish we could be
The hero we all wish we could be. In the late eighteen hundreds the roles of genders were
specific. Men were to work and provide for his family. While woman were to stay home and care
for their household, children, and ultimately to satisfy their husbands desires. In the play A Doll
House by Henrik Ibsen we see the character of Nora Helmer escape from this age s common
gender role by leaving her husband and children behind in search for her own happiness. While
many could criticize Nora s abandonment of her children and husband a cowardly and wrong
thing to do. Nora could also be seen as heroic for challenging the power of a man during this time
and escaping her unhappy life. We see Nora transform from her husband Torvald s puppet to

Torvald also calls Nora various pet names such as, my squirrel and my little skylark . This really
dehumanizes Nora and further reinforces Torvalds power. The symbol of money is a
continuous struggle throughout Torvald and Nora s marriage. Torvald belittles Nora for
spending money the way that she does. Torvald calls Nora a spendthrift and says that she is very
foolish with money. Torvald claims that Nora s lack of responsibility with money is due to being
a woman. Torvald gives Nora money to pay back a potter that they owed money to. And money to
buy Christmas gifts for the children. When Nora returns and shows Torvald the things that she
bought and tells him how much she paid the potter back. Torvald says Nora, Nora, how like a
woman! (p852). This shows how greatly the impact of gender mattered to Torvald in their marriage.
Due to this constant criticism and belittlement is shown by Torvald towards Nora over money
throughout the play. Under the control of Torvald now and her father originally, a man has always
controlled Nora s life. Mary Wollstonecraft, author of the book A Vindication of the rights of
woman states that from birth woman are taught to have softness of temper, outward obedience,
scrupulous attention (Wollstonecraft). While living under control of an overpowering male figure
her entire life this is all that Nora has grown

European Imperialism In Nineteenth Century
Throughout the Nineteenth Century wealthy European countries engaged to take advantage of
poor African nations. This imperialism was seen as a duty to God and country. Often, there efforts
to colonize less civilised nations resulted in the destruction of families, government, and individuals
in the colonised nations. In White Man s Burden and Things Fall Apart Achebe and Kipling discuss
imperialism in different ways. White Europeans during the Nineteenth Century felt the need to
civilize, people and countries that they thought were uncivilised. Kipling once said, To serve your

Leonardo Da Vinci A Renaissance Man
William Byrd and Leonardo Da Vinci and the composer and artist duo that I have chosen from
the Renaissance era or music and art. As Leonardo Da Vinci was born on April 15, 1452 in a
city called Vinci, Republic of Florence which today is not modern day Italy and died on May 2,
1519 at the age of 67 in the city of Amboise, Kingdom of France. Da Vinci was more known as an
artist and scientist, but was also an inventor, architect, musician, mathmation, engineer, astronomy,
writer, historian, and geologist. So you could say that Da Vinci was a Renaissance man, meaning
that he was pretty much good at everything he did. Da Vinci s most notable works of art were the

Da Vinci s artwork of The Last Supper is as a piece of art that captures the moment of Christ just
after he tells his disciples that one of them will betray him is a very influential moment of the
bible and is beautifully depicted in this art work. I believe this work of art is a stand alone piece
of art that is great in that it shows Christ in the moment having his hands spread apart showing
that they are pointed at a piece of bread and a glass of wine. Which in turn represents the body of
Christ in the bread and the blood of Christ in the wine, which is the sacrament. What is also
interesting about the painting is that Jesus s hand that is reaching for the wine is also near a
dish on the table which Judas is reaching for symbolizing that fact that Judas is the one who
betrays Jesus and has a bag of silver in his other hand in the painting. As for William Byrd, I
believe his music is beautiful in the fact that it is very calming and easy listening, which makes
me just want to listen to more of it. His style of music reminds me of the Gothic era of music in a
way because of the deep echo voices in the background, but it has more to it as the other singers
bring a more full sound to the piece of music and make the texture a nice soft but abrasive type of
listening that has emotion in its sound. I enthusiastically enjoyed

Ulcerative Colitis Research Papers
Imagine being told that you could never eat another ice cream cone. When someone is
diagnosed with ulcerative colitis, there is a litary of foods that should be avoided. Ulcerative
colitis is described as a chronic inflammatory disease that causes inflammation and swelling in
the large intestine. People have tiny ulcers and small holes in their colon and rectum. This causes
bloody stools and diarrhea. While having colitis the patient can go through periods of flare ups
and remission. Remission is when the disease seems to be gone and all symptoms go away but
can reappear at any time. Colitis can be referred to as inflammatory bowel disease or IBD.

There are many different medicines that can be used to treat colitis and it all depends on the
patient s condition. For some, simply just changing their diet can decrease the severity of colitis.
Others require surgery to fix their condition. First doctors have to diagnose the disease. Colitis
can be diagnosed in various ways. This includes laboratory tests, endoscopy, and/or barium enema
x ray. Also it can be diagnosed based on medical history, physical examination, or a biopsy of the
colon tissue. The most common ways are blood tests, stool samples, CT scans, colonoscopy,
sigmoidoscopy, and pill camera (WebMD 1). Your doctor may order one or more of these tests to
distinguish that you have colitis. Once it is determined that one has colitis the various treatment
options are put into effect. First drug therapy is used to try and lessen symptoms or put patients into
remission, a period of time where the patient experiences no pain and temporarily feels normal
again. The four main types of drugs used for treating colitis are aminosalicylates, corticosteroids,
immunosuppressants, and biologic agents (Cleveland Clinic 2). Aminosalicylates main purpose is
to reduce inflammation and prevent relapses and keep people in remission. The standard
aminosalicylates drug is sulfasalazine. This drug combines the 5 ASA drug mesalamine with
sulfapyridine, a sulfa antibiotic. While

The Legal Establishment Of Two Individuals Creating Vows
The legal establishment of two individuals creating vows to commit to each other defines what
marriage is, it may just be more than just the paperwork and the ceremonies; but two people
having a mindset and a lifestyle with another person in their interest. It could be affection, or it
could be expectation like it was centuries ago. Either way, a relationship between a man and a
woman creating vows and committing to each other begin and end with specific expectations, a
lifestyle change, and somebodies perfect image of that special someone. Today, being married
means a lot to live up too; loyalty, dependability, cooperation, and a joined effort especially within
the household. Lifestyles may change whether it s the man or the wifeand it can depend on who has
the money, the job, and the ability to survive. Meaning one or the other have to be willing to live
differently for their special someone. Also most of the time, usually by the man, a person is
imagined in their heads the perfect person who they are married too.. First, a marriagebegins with
expectations especially in the 20th through the 21st century. Like the movies describe, woman stays
home raising the kids, making dinner, making sure the house is clean, and taking care of her
husbandwhile he works and earns the money to survive and keep the household running. These
expectations can be hard to live up too when it s not in someone s favor, which can cause a
problem. In Kate Chopin s The Story of an Hour, Mrs.

Vertical integration in studio system Essay
Vertical integration in studio system
The term vertical integration refers to the structure of a marketplace, which is integrated (rather
than segregated) at a variety of crucial levels. In the case of the motion picture industry, the studio
system established a market in which the studios owned production facilities, distribution outlets,
and theaters. In other words, the studios controlled every level of the marketplace from the top
down, from production to exhibition.
Vertical integration began in the 1910s and inspired the postwar consolidation of the studio system
as national distribution companies, such as Paramount merged with production companies, such as
Famous
Players and Lasky and subsequently began purchasing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The majors owned only a fraction of the nation s theaters, e.g. 3000 of the 18000. But these
theaters were large, first run houses and located in big cities. Therefore they generated 70% of the
box office receipts.
The majors ensured the profitability of their own theaters and controlled the independents by
instituting a series of special distribution practices. These were known as block booking, blind
bidding, runs, zones, and clearances.
Block booking refers to the rental of films in large quantity. If exhibitors wanted to rent films, they
have to rent the entire yearly output. And since they contracted with the distributors before the film
has been made, the distributors were forced to bid for them without seeing them, a procedure
called blind bidding. This way the studios could sell the bad pictures with good.
As a result of the system the new films will be first rented to the first run theaters of which the
majority was owned by the studios, and then its shown in the second run and sub run theaters
after a clearance time of about 7 30 days (to renew demand). Distribution is also guided by a system
of zones; only one theater in any particular area is allowed to show a new picture.
The dismantling of the studio system began just before World War II when the U.S. Department of
justice s Antitrust Division filed suit against the 8 studios for the use of their monopolistic methods

Medical Billing And Coding And Billing
Introduction
My career that I am researching for my junior project is Medical Coding and Billing. Medical
Coding and Billing are two different jobs. Medical Coding is when a patient has any medical
procedure or exam such as going to the doctor for the stomach virus or even going to the hospital
for a broken bone. They work with the insurance companies by putting a specific number into the
computer. There s CPT Codes which stands for Current Procedural Terminologywhich is Codes to
better understand the services their doctor provided, to double check their bills or negotiate lower
pricing for their healthcare services. (About Health, 2014).
For Medical Billers they will submit and follow up on any claims in order to receive payment for
services from the patient or any health care provider. Both Medical billing and coding workers are
the health care professionals in charge of processing patient s data such as treatment records and
related insurance information. Medical billers are in charge of making sure everyone is being
billed correctly. Medical Billers interact with insurance companies just as much as Medical
Coders. A normal day for a medical biller is day to day operations; prepare all billing for
Medicare, Medicate, and all commercial insurance companies. Create electronic files, monitor
payments and denials. When creating electric files, when a new customer is sent to you Medical

Parental Intrusion in Youth Sports Essay
Running Head: PARENTAL INTRUSION IN YOUTH SPORTS

PARENTAL INTRUSION Parental intrusion in youth sports is nothing new. There will always be
adults who act inappropriately or disrupt the league. A lot of the problems lie with adults who use
youth sports to gratify their own egos, adults who can t deal with the emotional ups and downs
of youth sports and there are even those who see the time and money spent on their child as an

However, when we talk about youth sports, our main concern is with providing players with a
positive, character building experience. Winning is not the only acceptable outcome for youth
players, and coaches need to understand this principle. With a winning philosophy young athletes
may lose out on opportunities to develop their skills, to enjoy participation, and to grow socially
and emotionally. Well informed coaches realize that success is not equivalent to winning games,
and failure is not the same as losing. (Enhancing Coach Parent Relationships in Youth Sports, 15)
Sadly, dealing with unreasonable, loud, obnoxious parents can be the most challenging part of
coaching. Many coaches just want to make a difference in young lives instead of having to deal
with the extra baggage of a high strung parent. If a parent does not like what you are doing as a
coach, then there is no reason that parent can t become a coach. One of the most difficult problems
in coaching youth sports is dealing with an irate parent, but this problem can be diminished by
holding parent meetings before and during the season. (Put Em In Coach, 33)
So when it comes to specifically handling those situations where parents become unruly, whether it
is to the kids, coaches, or to the other parents,

A Rhetorical Analysis Of Nelson Mandela s Speech

humanity. Mandela dedicated his life to his belief of equality and freedom for people in South
Africa. As a strong supporter of freedom of speech, Mandela is one of the most revered speakers
of the 20th century. He was born in a small village in the eastern cape of South Africaon July 18,
1918. Nelson studied law in the university of Fort Hare but never completed his degree. In 1941, he

By thanking his supporters, he encourages continuous support to pursue his ideal of equality and
freedom. Mandela wants to engage the different dichotomies to unite the people of South Africa.
Most importantly he speaks for the abolishment of the apartheid government. His tone is
passionate and motivational, and his delivery is slow and deliberate which is important to convey
his message as he needs to empower his listeners towards action. With methods of development, he
successfully conveys his tone. Using anaphora at the beginning with his salutations, he is able to
emphasize his thankful sentiments towards his supporters. He also uses lots of symbolism and
patriotism to emotionally appeal to citizens. With parallelism in sentences, he creates balance and
rhythm in his speech. Repetition is used when speaking about things he intends to do. For
example, he repeatedly uses negotiate to emphasize its necessity. The speech in my opinion is
very effective because Mandela uses emotional appeal at the start to engage listeners and to
receive sympathy. With the momentum from that, he adds logical and ethical arguments to deliver
his point. A year later Mandela was elected as president and he won the Nobel Peace Prize so
history can confirm its effectiveness. Nelson Mandela was a very influential speaker, allowing him
to become one of the most influential leaders of the 20th

Edelman Leave No Child Behind Summary
People have different interpretations of what success may mean to them. In the article, Leave No
Child Behind by Marian Wright Edelman, the author explains many lessons on the steps to
become successful. According to some, success is measured by social status and wealth. I agree
with Edelman s lessons that there is no free lunch, we should not be afraid of taking risks or being
criticized, and we should never think that life is not worth living.
I agree that there is no such thing as free lunch. I notice there is nothing given to us without a
price tag on it. One time I remembered when I really wanted the new Barney rolling backpack. I
told my mother I wanted it. She told me that I would have to work for it, or else I would not
receive it. There I was, a little 8 year old girl, cleaning around the entire house. Edelman says, Don
t feel entitled to anything you don t sweat and struggle for. I agree with Edelman that if we do not
put hard work and sweat into wanting what we want, then we will not achieve it. In a related

there is always going to be another opportunity for me getting a career. Edelman says, Be willing

Examples Of Motivation In Beowulf
Beowulf s Motivation
(An educational research on why Beowulf did what he did) Beowulf was the first example of an
epic hero. Beowulf was a poem that some scholars have suggested was made at the end of the 10th
century (Harrison, Beowulf). The question of why Beowulf does things he does always comes into
play. The story of Beowulf starts off when he is in Geatland and hears that the Danes are being
attacked by a monster. Beowulf sails to Denmark to help them. It should be noted that the Geats
and Danes are not friendly towards each other. Beowulf defeats both monsters that attack Heorot
Hall and returns to Geatland to become king. After an honorable fifty year reign a dragon starts
attacking Geatland. He kills the dragon, but is mortally ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Why did he sail across the ocean just to help the Danes? Was it all really because he just wanted
to do his duty, or was it something more? Some say that Beowulf had an eagerness for glory and
fame (Snyder, Beowulf Themes). But then why did Beowulf do his duty. Some may say that
one can not be glorious until they have done their duty. Beowulf s father even said that his glory
is too great to forget (1221). Some might say that the only reason Beowulf traveled to Denmark
and risked his life defeating Grendel and Grendel s mother was so he could do his duty and get
all of the glory. Bigger than just doing his duty, Beowulf s motivation for saving The Danes from
Grendel and his mother was to become

The Importance Of Cultural Differences Between Chinese And...
Understanding and upholding respect for different cultures should be a social norm. Fascinatingly,
the amount of various cultures around the world is humbling with no two being alike. Although,
Chinese culture has evolved through many, many years and some ancient traditions still uphold.
Face, guanxi, which broadly speaking, means connections and many other cultural normalities are
constantly changing in China, yet there is basic threshold of cultural competency that is still
important to acquire before any amount of business can be done there. Researching these specific
cultural characteristics helped me understand several key cultural concepts that must be understood
in order for useful personal and business dealings. Having a basic knowledge of Chinese history,
political, economic and social challenges the country faces is necessary background knowledge

U.s. Foreign Tax Credit
The income earned by the U.S. individuals and corporations in the foreign countries or foreign
source are taxed by the U.S. government, even though other countries also tax any income earned
within their borders. To offset this double taxation of income by two different countries, the U.S.
grants both individuals and corporations a foreign taxcredit (FTC) that can be used to offset
income taxes assessed by a foreign country on the income earned there (Foreign Tax Credit, FTC,
n.d.). The FTC is allowable for foreign income taxes and other similar taxes, such as excess profit
and war profit taxes. However, only income taxes qualify for the credit. The Value Added Taxes
(VAT) and property, sales and severance taxes do not qualify, although they may be deductible.
Eligible FTC Income
The foreign tax credit can only reduce U.S. taxes on foreign source income; it cannot reduce U.S.
taxes on U.S. source income. It is generally better to take a credit for qualified foreign taxes than
to deduct them as an itemized deduction because credit reduces the tax liability dollar for dollar.
(Foreign Tax Credit Choosing To Take Credit or Deduction, n.d. ).
Claiming a deduction may be preferable to claiming the foreign tax credit if the foreign tax rate
and the proportion of foreign income to United States income is high. The tax should be computed

Venezuel A Powerful Member State
Nevertheless, Venezuela is a very powerful member state because of its size, its highly
industrialized society, and a GPD comparable to that of Argentina and Brazil. It also has the second
largest export sector of all Latin American countries and the largest oil and gas reserves in Latin
America. These factors equip Venezuelawith sufficient power to affect the Mercosur agenda and
rival the influence of Argentina and Brazil. The Argentinian government, led by President Cristina
Kirchner, has sympathized with Chavez s vision for Mercosur. However, the Brazilian government
has taken a different position and wishes to continue Mercosur s original agenda of free trade and
open markets, but it needs to remain a member to maintain... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

These two countries governments are left leaning, sympathetic to Venezuela s politics of resistance,
and wish to promote a regional integration that involves regional resistance to American hegemony.
They share with Venezuela a Bolivarian vision of Latin American unity and power. Thus, in the
near future, the majority of Mercosur members will likely share and promote an anti neo liberal
agenda rather than a free trade one.
b.Challenges to Accomplishing Venezuela s New Vision for Mercosur
The prospect of achieving Mercosur s progressive new vision is fraught with challenges as much as
it is inspired by hope. United States interests will continue to resist losing their economic and
political grip in the region. This will not be the only obstacle facing the success of this new vision.
The sheer magnitude of the project will require a serious commitment, and Latin America s diversity
of political beliefs and cultures could prove to be more marked than its homogeneity. For example,
there are two Latin Americas at the moment. The first is a bloc of countries include Brazil,
Argentina, Venezuela, Bolivia, Nicaragua and Ecuador. They mistrust globalization, resists neo
liberalism, and seek to give the state a large role in the economy. The second bloc, including
Mexico, Peru, Chile, and Colombia, embraces free trade and free markets and has a closer
connection with Washington. Both sets of countries share similar geography, culture and

Analysis Of Oath Of The Horatii
Oath of the Horatii is life size oil on canvas painting that is about thirteen feet wide by ten feet tall.
The painting was done by Jacques Louis David, who was the leading Neoclassical painter in France
during the eighteenth century. David rejected the Rococo style that was popular of that time, which
was characterized by fantasy and playfulness. David was interested in paintingimages with
antiquity. The Oath of the Horatiihas elements of classical Greek and Roman art and architecture.
Oath of the Horatii was a political painting that David had comprised to stimulate the publics
attention (Fred S. Kleiner 680).
Oath of the Horatii captures a heroic and patriotic moment. Something big is happening in this
composition. There are three Horatii brothers taking an oath, which is being administered by
their father. The oath they are taking is to live or die for their country, which happens to be
Rome. While taking this oath, the Horatii brothers are facing their father. They stand in unison
with one another. They each have one leg and arm extending out. The father holds three swords
up and out towards the Horatii brothers in the same pose. The Horatii brothers extended arms are
saluting towards the swords. The postures of all four men appear upright and strong. There is no
emotion of fear on their faces. The brothers appear athletic and fit. This can be seen in the
muscular details of their legs and arms. They appear bold and ready to sacrifice their lives. The
father does not

The Breakdown Of The Traditional Family Division Of...
During the late 20th century, the world has witnessed all sorts of social and technological changes
due to globalisation (Bologun, Sutherland and Oswick, 2015). In fact, the breakdown of the
traditional family division of labour, instant communication through technology, and the increased
complexity of organisational objectives have favour gender equality and diversity. Those changes
have pressure companies to improve their work structure to be more competitive and to the extent
that the idea of an effective leadershiphas come under pressure to change too. Indeed, organisations
have become less hierarchical and more decentralised networks where the traditional source of

They found out that female and male leaders have equal concern for the task. However, women
manifest more concern for an interpersonal relationship than men (Eagly and
Johannesen‐Schmidt, 2001). Moreover, using Blake and Mouton (1964) framework, women
show a more democratic (or participative) style, which facilitates collaboration, and less autocratic
(or directive) style, that don t enhance followers creativity. Thus, according to the contemporary
standard, women manifested more appropriate traits for being an effective leader.
Furthermore, Eagly and Carli (2003) also conclude that female leader were more transformational
and applied contingent reward behaviours which is one of transactional leadership component.
Conversely, male leaders were more likely to involve two other aspects of transactional
leadership which are active management by exception (waiting for a follower s mistake to
corrected it) and passive management by exception (waiting for issues to become severe before
solving it). Men also show a relatively high interest in laissez faire leadership. That different
categorization of leadership style became popular by Burns in 1978 and then Bass in 1985.

Persuasive School Uniforms
The idea of school uniforms seems comparable to an old schooled idea that seems to penetrate
across school boards everywhere every year. Although wearing uniforms is mostly practiced in
private schools, more and more schools yearly are rallying together to introduce school uniforms to
the students. For numberless schools across the nation, wearing uniformsis the norm and a wide
variety of the students say they enjoy knowing what they will be wearing the next day. As each
country begins to seize the nation with higher scores of each school, countless numbers of people
begin to wonder if the drastic change in scores could be the uniforms. In spite of whether or not
schools are deciding to switch the dress codeto uniforms, there should be one decision in the end,
which should be to enforce uniforms in all South Harrison School Corporations Schools. Countless

In addition to knowing what the students will be wearing the next day, the parents relish in the
idea that they will have a less stressful morning and get the chance to relax a little bit. According
to a national 2013 survey, over 90% of US school leaders believe school uniform or formal dress
code policies eliminate wardrobe battles with kids, make it easier to get kids ready in the
morning, and create a time saving in the morning (School). Besides just private schools enforcing
uniforms, many public schools are switching to the uniforms due to the increase in the learning
ability and the scores. A bulletin published by the National Association of Secondary School
Principals stated that When all students are wearing the same outfit, they are less concerned about
how they look and how they fit in with their peers; thus, they can concentrate on their schoolwork

What do you do? Do you give it up or is this a ridiculous question? Alfred Edmond Jr. writes in

The Sixties Essay
1960 s Term Paper
The 1960 s impacted the United States in profound ways. With the seventy million baby boomers
growing into their teens, they brought with them change that is still evolving in our society today.
The sixties was a time where American culture moved from being conservative to new and
insightful ways of thinking. With these changes, it brought a new counter culture that would be
known as the hippie culture. The hippies led way into a new sexual revolution that would break the
old fashioned boundaries. The hippies also ushered in a new era where drugs became popular to a
large public as well as within their own culture. Drugs were becoming a part of American culture,
as well as new scientific research, into the benefits ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

rights activist was Malcolm X. His thoughts on how protesting should be done were much more
radical than King s and were often violent. Through this movement, the sixties saw the de
segregation of schools as well. To put it simply, the sixties were monumental in how our society
remains today. The United States today serves as the most diverse country in the world, all due to
the help of the Civil rights movement of the sixties. The people that would become associated with
the new teenage counter culture movement were known as the hippies. The movement began in
the mid sixties in the United States. The hippies often believed in peace and pleasure. They even
ushered in a new music genre of psychedelic rock. The Grateful Dead as well as the Beatles was
famous artists coming from the movement and genre. The hippies created their own communities
where they criticized the mainstream society and middle class. One thing they revolutionized was
sex. The sexual revolution moved from traditional ways of behaving to more promiscuous
activities and pleasures. The norms of American sexual culture would change greatly. Hippies
were promoters of free love in the sexual revolution. They taught that the power of sex and love
should be a part of everyday teenage life. In some colleges, they started to make dorms coed; in
which the males and females could come together freely. A

function, In a Stage 1 organization the operation is considered as a necessary evil . The other
functions, if they have anything to say at all about operations, regard it as holding them back
from competing effectively. The operations function, they would say, is inward looking and at
best reactive. It certainly has very little positive to contribute towards competitive success. It is
unlikely even to have developed its resources so as to be appropriate for the company s
competitive position. The best that the function can hope for is to be ignored. At least when
operations are being ignored it is not holding the company back in any way. Certainly the rest of
the organization would not look to operations as the source of any originality, flair or competitive
drive. In effect the operations function is aspiring only to reach the minimum acceptable standards
implied by the rest of the organization. It is trying to be internally neutral , a position it attempts to

organizations are let down by their operations function the resulting publicity can be damaging.

The end state is to minimize the amount of time between collection and analysis. After the Vietnam War, the National Security Agency found the need for a mobile communications intelligence(COMINT) platform . A platform that could communicate with ground stations. RC 12 Guardrail (GR) would forever change how the militarycollected COMINT. GR was first employed in 1971 to monitor troop movements in East Germany and Czechoslovakia. • 4. Using Technology Into An Organization Culture View According to a recent LACCD memorandum beginning 2014 all employees will have the opportunity to download their W2 forms directly from the Districts personnel page. The District anticipates that this decision will lower their cost of printing and postage. It will also enable employees to receive financial information quickly and electronically. However, one of the main drawbacks with modifying the organization procedures is that some employees might feel apprehensive to the change. The culture of an organization refers to the pattern of development reflected in a society s system of knowledge, ideology, values, laws, and day to day ritual (Morgan, 120). In the case of LACCD they must understand how the changes in procedures might alter the culture and shape the views of employees. The ability to integrate technology into an organization depends on the employee s practices, values, and beliefs. It also depends on their ability to learn how to use the technology and willingness to implement the technology. I believe that school leaders should consider integrating technology into an organization in a slow and methodical manner in order to help employees understand the new procedures and give them the opportunity to adapt. This method of integration can help organizations implement their plan and lower employee resistance. The resistance in implementing technology into an organization can significantly increase if it has the potential to impact the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. The Narrative Of The Life Of Frederick Douglass Revolutionary Freedom In 1845, an African American man named Frederick Douglass released a thought provoking autobiography that would become a turning point in revolutionary change. The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass was the first autobiography Douglass had written focusing on the real life struggles he has faced during his time spent in bondage. During his time, it was not common for an African American to have the skills to read and write, and it was especially uncommon to publish a novel revealing the truth of slavery, while it was still legal at that time. Provoking revolutionary thought amongst his readers, this narrative will change the world in ways of equality, speaking for the oppressed, and inducing the philosophical thought of what it means to truly be free. Douglass believes in equality for all, which is not a typical concept for his time. In the 1800 s, slavery was legal in the majority of the United States, where whites held all the power whether it be politically, socially, or economically. Believing that all men were created equal, Douglass was at a flummox when coming to the realization that he had been born into slavery, seeing that his freedom has to be worked for, it will not be handed to him as it was to the white men in his time. Proving to us the difference in the political standing of slaves and white men, the orator states A representative could not be prouder of his election to a seat in the American Congress than a slave on one of ... People do not typically think of these people as being flawed in their nature. This song demonstrates that Hamilton was not a hero. He was a human and he made mistakes. In the context of the song, we see him choose to make this choice. We see him regret it as well. This piece helps to create a social construct and really change the meaning of what a hero is. Without using music and sexuality in this case, we would have never got to really delve into the flawed persona of Hamilton. This piece helps to advance the plot in unexpected ways. This score of a Broadway show was composed about the story of our underrated founding father, Alexander Hamilton. Although written in the 21st century by Lin Manuel Miranda, the score targets the history of yesterday, set right as the American Revolution events begin. Lin Manuel Miranda wanted to tell the story of yesterday by the people of today. • 9. Money Laundering Is Used By Drug Dealers, Terrorists And... Originally developed in the 1970 s, money laundering is a technique used to disguise the proceeds of crime, and reintegrate them into apparently legitimate assets (Levi and Reuter 2006). Money laundering is commonly used by drug dealers, terrorists and other corrupt organizations (Seymour 2008). Drug trafficking, smuggling and embezzlement are examples of criminal activities that generate large amounts of illicit funds for criminal groups; the desire to legitimize these funds and minimize detection stimulate the demand for money laundering schemes (Buchanan 2004). Organizations try to make the money appear legal and legitimate in order to minimize the possibility of being apprehended by authorities. Money laundering takes away the integrity of licensed financial systems and associations and ultimately provides organized crime the money it requires to perform additional criminal activities (Seymour 2008). There are 3 phases of money laundering; Placement, Layering and Integration. Placement is fulfilled by transforming the sum of cash obtained from criminal activities into a more movable and less dubious form. After this, inserting these earnings into the mainstream economic system makes the money appear legitimate. The purpose of this is to withdraw the illegal profits and isolate it from their illegal origins. However, the laundering mechanism is most susceptible during placement because illicit pursuit provokes large sums of cash, which is hefty and tough to obscure in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The author, Sandra Cisneros, separated her book into three sections. The section that will be analyzed is the first section where the narrators are female children. Out of the many stories in section one, the three that will be focused on are, Mericans, My Friend Lucy Who Smells Like Corn, and Barbie Q. The children in these three stories are all lower class, Mexican American females. These stories have been described by Thompson as Cisneros remembering her childhood, filled with no male figures, lack of close female friendships, and poverty (415 417). The narrator, Michaela, and her brothers are waiting outside of a church in Mexico for their grandmother. An American couple walks up to the church and Michaela notices right away that they are not from here (Cisneros 2561). Michaela notices how the couple is dressed. Cisneros goes on to describe ladies don t come to church dressed in pants...men aren t supposed to wear shorts (Cisneros 2561). The theme of alienation also appears in this story. Michaela and her brothers are alienated from each other by gender. The two brothers call each other girl and sissy as though it was an insult(Brady 1999). This makes Michaela very insecure and self conscious about herself. The boys also taunt each other about crying since crying is what girls do , which is a stereotype (Cisneros 2560). This makes Michaela very careful. She does not cry in fear that her brothers will taunt her and will not play with her. Another story that deals with stereotypes is Barbie Q. Thompson believes Cisneros writes about how Barbie represents the norm for the perfect woman(1994). In Barbie Q Cisneros attacks artificial feminine stereotypes that are epitomized in every Barbie doll (Thompson 1999). The narrator plays with a friend talking about dozens of outfits that fit perfectly and having many friends. The narrator describes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. Gender Wage Gap Between Men And Women You see charts and graphs of different types, shapes and colors used by writers all the time. But have you ever thought of the reason for that or what role they have? Are they a critical piece in the article or do they just sum up information and gather numbers in one place? To engage these questions, I will consider the visual presentation of the gender wage gap between men and women by different journalists. By the time you finish reading this essay, you will learn many facts about the graphs, how they convey quantitative information, and how they differ from the language. Aside form the graph s positives you should be aware of their potential for manipulation and that they are not as reliable and unbiased as they might look. Writers always search for effective means to represent their ideas and convey information to the audience. They aim to be persuasive in their debates and draw a strong connection with the readers to affect them. To approach the gender wage gap issue, some writers use only the language. In the article Fighting The Gender Pay Gap, the author Carl Richard addresses the issue as a personal problem that he discussed with his daughter and his friends. He draws a direct connection with the readers who link that to their personal experiences. Also, Richard, through his words, is encouraging the audience to start taking actions to solve this problem that affects many other women like his daughter. It was delivered to both a live audience as well as broadcast via the channel of television and radio to a wider Australian audience, especially to the Aboriginal audience. He adopts an appropriate and respectful tenor which in turns fosters a formal register to accommodate the solemnity of the topic. Ecstasy is not a mixtureof other drugs; it is something all its own. Ecstasy alone makes people biased towards ecstasy without even doing the research necessary to judge it. There are some 500,000 regular users of the drug Ecstasy in the United Kingdom alone. (lec.org/DrugSearch/Documents.Ecstasy.html, p.1) It can t be all that bad, can it? This small group of people failed due to an incident that had happened the year before. China White, a drug sold to heroin addicts as a legal substitute, contained a poisonous impurity that caused a form of severe brain damage. This caused the US Congress to pass a law allowing the DEA to place an emergency ban on any drug that it felt might cause any danger to the public. MDMA was one of the drugs banned on July 1, 1985. (Saunders p.8) The temporary ban lasted for one year only. There was a hearing set up to decide what the final word would be on Ecstasy. At the end of the case, the Judge recommended MDMA to be placed in a category that was not as restrictive. The DEA would not back down from their decision, and ignored the recommendation given by the judge. By placing MDMA in a less restrictive category it would have allowed the drug to be manufactured and to be used for research. In 1986 a non profit organization called The Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies, also known as MAPS, opened A Master File for MDMA. This complied with the prerequisite for the licensing of any new drug. By doing this it allowed MAPS to conduct research on MDMA. Now that they knew someone was murdered in the house, the next question in their head was is it Karen? They had obtained blood samples from Karen s Mother, Sisters, Children, and Ex Husband. • 16. Analysis Of The Book The Magical Realism 1.The novel fits the description of magical realism because a lot of the concept in Bless Me, Ultima seems realistic but at the same time some of the other concepts seem much exaggerated, they are like images that can be imagined in our head, but in the book these things actually happen in life. Oh, our sweet baby, we are coming home to you Aghhhhhhh! My brothers! I screamed. I bolted up and found myself in bed. My body was wet with sweat, and my lips were trembling. I felt a heavy sorrow gagging my heart, and it was hard to breath. Outside I heard the owl cry in alarm. Someone was coming up the goat path. I jumped into my pants and raced out into the cold night. There just coming over the slope of the hill were three dark figures (page 61 and 62). This excerpt from the book shows how Antonio was having a dream of his brothers and that they were coming home but, when Antonio woke up, he realized that his brothers were really home. In a way his dream was a way of foreshadow. 2.3.In Bless Me, Ultima the owls are symbolic because the owl symbolizes Ultima s spirit. It was true that the owl was Ultima s spirit. It had come with Ultima, and as men brought evil to our hills the owl had hovered over us, protecting us (page 256). It should be our goal to have a higher voting rate like in Belgium it s elgible voters are at 93% participation. Changing the legal voting age from eighteen to sixteen won t change the participation rate. I believe the legal voting age of eighteen needs to stay how it is because younger voters already have a small outcome of voters and a voter younger than eighteen isn t truly an adult. If we change the votingage now it will only hurt than help. There is only 38% of younger population that did vote in 2012. So if there isn t a difference in age the numbers will still be very small. Letting people a couple years younger vote, won t help boost the participation, but make the younger voters have even lower voting rates. I believe that younger people of the age of sixteen most likely are too young to understand everything about politics. So if they cannot comprehend the politics of it all then they sure won t vote if they don t even know. The small percentage of voters is just one fact that proves changing the legal voting age won t change anything for the participation of voting Americans. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Well there is a saying that is when you work hard it will pay off, and in the story Marble Champ by Gary Soto the main character, Lupe Merdrano never stopped working hard and it lead her to a big prize at the end. The reasons for this is that she was not good at sports first, then she practiced and practised, then it all paid off in the future. The first reason that hard work pays off is because in the beginning she was very bad at sports. But the thing is she would say to herself, I will never be good at sports. The first piece of evidence is that she can t run very fast, for example in the story Marble Champ she would try and try to get her body to move faster in the fifty yard dash and she would never beat anyone. So, this shows that she is not good at sports because in most sports you need to run, skate or other movements that involve your legs, also she is not very fast when using her legs. My second piece of evidence is that she scored a goal for the other team, when playing soccer, by her kicking it into her own teams net. This shows that she didn t even know which net was and you need to know that to play a sport. My third example is that she can t kick a ball in the right direction and can t kick it to well. This says that she really once again doesn t know how to use her legs for the right purpose . Even if she is very good at using her brain ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Folkwaysare norms that aren t strictly enforced while mores are strictly enforced for essential thought to care values or the well being of a group (Hansen, 2014). Along with a norm and the two types, there may also be reactions to it. These reactions may be positive or negative and termed as sanctions. Sanctions are either expressions of an approval given to people for upholding norms or expression of disapproval for violating them (Hansen, 2014). In conducting a norm experiment, the terms were put to a test. The experiment consisted of an observed norm violation and an individual norm violation. Da Vinci s artwork of The Last Supper is as a piece of art that captures the moment of Christ just after he tells his disciples that one of them will betray him is a very influential moment of the bible and is beautifully depicted in this art work. I believe this work of art is a stand alone piece of art that is great in that it shows Christ in the moment having his hands spread apart showing that they are pointed at a piece of bread and a glass of wine. Which in turn represents the body of Christ in the bread and the blood of Christ in the wine, which is the sacrament. What is also interesting about the painting is that Jesus s hand that is reaching for the wine is also near a dish on the table which Judas is reaching for symbolizing that fact that Judas is the one who betrays Jesus and has a bag of silver in his other hand in the painting. As for William Byrd, I believe his music is beautiful in the fact that it is very calming and easy listening, which makes me just want to listen to more of it. His style of music reminds me of the Gothic era of music in a way because of the deep echo voices in the background, but it has more to it as the other singers bring a more full sound to the piece of music and make the texture a nice soft but abrasive type of listening that has emotion in its sound. In other words, the studios controlled every level of the marketplace from the top down, from production to exhibition. Therefore they generated 70% of the box office receipts. The majors ensured the profitability of their own theaters and controlled the independents by instituting a series of special distribution practices. These were known as block booking, blind bidding, runs, zones, and clearances. Block booking refers to the rental of films in large quantity. If exhibitors wanted to rent films, they have to rent the entire yearly output. And since they contracted with the distributors before the film has been made, the distributors were forced to bid for them without seeing them, a procedure called blind bidding. This way the studios could sell the bad pictures with good. As a result of the system the new films will be first rented to the first run theaters of which the majority was owned by the studios, and then its shown in the second run and sub run theaters after a clearance time of about 7 30 days (to renew demand). Distribution is also guided by a system of zones; only one theater in any particular area is allowed to show a new picture. With methods of development, he successfully conveys his tone. Using anaphora at the beginning with his salutations, he is able to emphasize his thankful sentiments towards his supporters. He also uses lots of symbolism and patriotism to emotionally appeal to citizens. With parallelism in sentences, he creates balance and rhythm in his speech. Repetition is used when speaking about things he intends to do. For example, he repeatedly uses negotiate to emphasize its necessity. The speech in my opinion is very effective because Mandela uses emotional appeal at the start to engage listeners and to receive sympathy. I agree that there is no such thing as free lunch. I notice there is nothing given to us without a price tag on it. One time I remembered when I really wanted the new Barney rolling backpack. I told my mother I wanted it. She told me that I would have to work for it, or else I would not receive it. There I was, a little 8 year old girl, cleaning around the entire house. Edelman says, Don t feel entitled to anything you don t sweat and struggle for. I agree with Edelman that if we do not put hard work and sweat into wanting what we want, then we will not achieve it. Beowulf was a poem that some scholars have suggested was made at the end of the 10th century (Harrison, Beowulf). The question of why Beowulf does things he does always comes into play. The story of Beowulf starts off when he is in Geatland and hears that the Danes are being attacked by a monster. Beowulf sails to Denmark to help them. It should be noted that the Geats and Danes are not friendly towards each other. Beowulf defeats both monsters that attack Heorot Hall and returns to Geatland to become king. Beowulf s father even said that his glory is too great to forget (1221). For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to play a big part in children s education, which is why I have decided to enroll for an education course. I believe that educators have a lifelong impact on their students and on the development of resilience. • 41. U.s. Foreign Tax Credit The income earned by the U.S. individuals and corporations in the foreign countries or foreign source are taxed by the U.S. government, even though other countries also tax any income earned within their borders. To offset this double taxation of income by two different countries, the U.S. grants both individuals and corporations a foreign taxcredit (FTC) that can be used to offset income taxes assessed by a foreign country on the income earned there (Foreign Tax Credit, FTC, n.d.). The FTC is allowable for foreign income taxes and other similar taxes, such as excess profit and war profit taxes. However, only income taxes qualify for the credit. The Value Added Taxes (VAT) and property, sales and severance taxes do not qualify, although they may be deductible. Eligible FTC Income The foreign tax credit can only reduce U.S. taxes on foreign source income; it cannot reduce U.S. taxes on U.S. source income. It is generally better to take a credit for qualified foreign taxes than to deduct them as an itemized deduction because credit reduces the tax liability dollar for dollar. (Foreign Tax Credit Choosing To Take Credit or Deduction, n.d. ). Claiming a deduction may be preferable to claiming the foreign tax credit if the foreign tax rate and the proportion of foreign income to United States income is high.
