Humorous Wedding Research
All right, I should stop making jokes and get to the point. What I would really like is for you to meet
me in my bedchamber. Tonight. I understand we re to be married in two weeks, but I d strongly prefer
we have a conjugal visit before our actual wedding night. I don t know about you, but with so much
wedding day pressure, I want one less thing to be nervous about. No one need ever know about this it
would be something just between us. As far as anyone else is concerned, our wedding night will be
our first time together. In any case, I find you very handsome, Arthur, and I really like you. Who

Internet and the Music Industry
Internet and the Music Industry Cassandra Utz University of Phoenix
In our society today, there is a growing number of consumers using the Internet as a main source for
music. The smaller music companies are having to come up with new and different ways to use the
Internet to increase their sales. The music companies can drive there sales because so many people are
previewing songs online by downloading it first. The artists are also able to capitalize on their music
via the Internet. The Internet is capable of reaching all types of people all over the world. The music
industry has been made ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The bigger companies like Warner Music Group, Universal Music Group, Song BMG Music
Entertainment, etc., have the big dollars to promote all of their artists. Because the Internet has caught
on, all of the music companies can promote everyone. Even the little companies can do this.
Hopefully, the music industry will look at this as a blessing in disguise for the underground labels.
Looking at this in the short term of things, downloading music could hurt the music industry and their
profits. However, later down the line, it will eventually benefit them. In a study done by Ipsos Reid, it
shows that 81% of the public that download music, often spend at least the same on records or even
more than they did before downloading music from the Internet. The record industry must concentrate
on offering value to the user and adapt to the publics needs (Vives, 2004). The music industry should
try to realize that the ideas behind free downloads can benefit them. They should do what they can to
market more from it, rather than turning their noses up at the technology behind it. They should realize
that they waste more money on fighting the sites that offer free downloads and lobbing Congress to
stop the downloading, they should build a system in which all music is readily available free. Making
sites with easy to follow links to other online music store so that the people can buy music from the
same place that they listen to it.
With music industry coming into the

Summary and Reflection of Both Sides Of Time by Caroline...
For the Third Quarter SSR Project I chose the book Both Sides Of Time by Caroline B. Cooney. I
settled on this fiction book not only because I ve read all three books in Cooney s series Time
Travelers Quartet, but it just so happens to be my favorite out of all of them. This book is gripping to
me because of the events happening in the book. A hopeless romantic going back in time, involved in
two love triangles in two different centuries, then forced to leave one that she loves either way. I relish
reading any kind of love stories, but I especially enjoyed this one because of the twisted storylines.
This book starts off simple in the beginning then surely escalates. Annie Lockwood, the main
character is a typical teenage girl who just ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Devonny Stratton, Strat s younger sister called the police because she felt bad for Matthew s family
and wanted to know who killed the kind servant and why. Annie and Strat still kept going on cute,
cheesy dates, but never kissed. The next week, in the library, Mr. Rowwels proposed marriage to
Harriet and she accepted. She thought that now that Ms. Lockwood had Strat s eyes only for on her,
she wouldn t have chance on marrying who she loved, which was Hiram Stratton, and thought that
marriage to someone she didn t love would be better than absolutely no marriage at all. Mr. Rowwels
turned out to be Mathew s murderer and Annie ended up going back to her own time, in 1995. There,
she tells her mother that her father is cheating on her. Then poor Annie realizes, in the 19th century,
Strat is doing the same thing to Harriet and feels guilty, because it s her fault. So to not interfere with
history, she goes back to the 18th century, kisses Strat then breaks up with him, and goes back to her
own time very heart broken about it.
If I needed to change any part of the story to make it more Hollywood style, it would be to make some
parts of the story a little more intense and dramatic. For example, I think that Harriet s jealousy of
Annie should be emphasized more in the film. In the film, Harriet should try to do schism things to
Annie and Strat s relationship or cry to Strat s family to convince them to hate

Functional Movement Analysis Essay
Intro: This movement analysis project examines the free throw of a male college basketball player.
The foul shot was broken up into four segments of movement which can be listed in order as the wind
up, the set, the shot, and the follow through. We also examined the athlete s
Functional Movement Screen (FMS), highlighting where the athlete excelled and where he had
deficits. The FMS findings were applied to the skills needed to compete in basketball at the collegiate
level. Lastly, we analyzed the arthrokinematics and osteokinematics of the joints during these
movements, the angles of those joints, as well as the muscles involved during the movements.
Description: To begin the study, our group was given an athlete. First, our athlete was asked to
perform a FMS, which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Next, the athlete was positioned standing behind a college regulation basketball foul line, in front of
and in line with the basket and given a basketball to hold at waist level. The athlete was then asked to
perform a foul shot, and was video recorded from a lateral and frontal view using an app called
Technique. The video captured the full movement in two lines of sight.
Using the app, the motion was broken into segments, paused and a still shot was taken. A still shot was
taken at the beginning and end of each segment. The segments included backswing where the ball was
brought from waist level to just anterior to the head. Next was force producing movement where the
ball was positioned slightly inferior to its previous position to where max power could be produced.
Then critical instant , where the ball is pushed with great force (up until ball leaves fingertips), Lastly,
follow through where the ball leaves the fingertips and the hand continues through its motion. Angles
were placed on each still shot at the glenohumeral joint, the humeroulnar joint, and the ulnocarpal
joint. These

At Land Maya Deren
At Land (1944) is an experimental fifteen minute silent film written, directed and starring Maya
Deren. Composer John Cage and poet film critic Parker Tyler were also involved in making the film.
It deconstructs narrative conventions and experiments with film techniques. It has a dream like
narrative in which a woman played by Deren, is washed up on a beach, like a fish and goes on an
unfamiliar passage encountering other people and other versions of herself. Throughout the film there
s lots of going through, climbing up, down, through. Deren is clearly searching for something; her
expressions are often confused and hopeless. This film is open to multiple readings and interpretations
but I believe the film depicts the tensions between self and society. Throughout the film Deren
functions as an outsider, an unseen intruder. I am isolating three significant frames ... Show more

Essay on My Cook-Out
The night before Easter I couldn t sleep knowing what a great day it going to be with delicious food. I
had a dream of all the great food we were going to bar b que with sides and desserts. My dad and I
woke up early Easter Sunday to get everything ready and I knew it was going to be perfect. We started
bar b queing and I just love the way it smells when I just barely put it on the bar b que pit. Especially
after the meat cooks for a while, and I open the lid and a white cloud of smoke emerges into my face
like when a car burns out and I just inhale then exhale the aroma of the meat. My family and I love to

bone and into my mouth. On my tio s pit he has the juiciest and crispiest chicken wrapped in sizzling
bacon with soft and creamy mozzarella cheese between them and when I bit into it I felt like I was in
heaven floating into the sky. He loves to marinate the chicken in his homemade sauce that he only
knows how to make. This is my tio s favorite chicken to make and I eat it slowly to savor its perfect
flavor. He knows how to cook chicken perfectly that everybody loves. On my grill I had what makes a

especially when I put a lot of butter, lemon pepper, and lucas it taste so good, and I love when I bite
into it because the juices squirt out on to my face and that s when you know its comes out perfect. My
other favorite I love to cook is sausage I love hear the way it sizzles and smells while it sizzles it s like

What Is A Coffee Table Essay
A coffee table, which is also known as a center table, is a low table , specially designed to be placed in
front of a sofa. Your coffee table should be such that looks good, serves well and displays a few
accessories that reveal your personality and goes well with living room decor. A coffee table is usually
the centre of attraction in a living room. It should not just be not a mere piece of furniture but also be
functional and hopefully likely to become a conversation piece among the guests
Things to consider
1. Requirements are the priority: The coffee table that you plan to buy should be as per your needs,
beforehand decide what will be the utility of purchasing a coffee table for your living room.
2. Don t forget to measure: The size of the coffee table will largely depend on the sofa size and the
sitting arrangements. The standard height for coffee tables is from 16 to 18 inches, but may go as high
as 21 inches. A higher table is a smart choice if you entertain frequently so that guests don t have to
bend too much to set down their drinks. But, ultimately, the height of the adjacent upholstered pieces
should determine the height of the table. One guideline is that a coffee table should be about the same
height or one or two inches lower than the seat height of the sofa. And keep in mind to leave at least ...

Dave Pelzer s Life And Life Essay
Introduction
Dave Pelzer s life started out as many children s lives do. He was surrounded by a mother and father
who loved him and would do anything for him. He recalls himself as well as his two brothers being
blessed with perfect parents who filled the family with love and care (Pelzer, 1995). His father,
Stephen, supported the family and worked as a fireman in San Francisco, while his mother, Catherine,
was a woman who glowed with love for her children and family (Pelzer, 1995). In the summer, the
family would go on a vacation often times to Portola or Memorial Park, where they would camp in a
large tent for a week. One time, they even went to Johnson s Beach, where the adventures were
endless. In this time, Dave learned how to swim on his back and his mother was so proud of him for it.
Every day was sprinkled with magic, especially as Dave s mother came and gave him a hug from
behind. In this time, he had never felt as safe and as warm as he had at that moment, not knowing that
things were soon to change in the most drastic way (Pelzer, 1995). Catherine went from a loving
mother to a nightmare while Stephen went from a protective father, to a coward. Dave became the
subject of child abuse, which had an impact on his childhood development explained by three well
known theorists, Bronfenbrenner, Piaget, and Kohlberg.

California Musical Instruments
Despite their failure to convert them religiously through music, the natives were left with a Spanish
influence because even after secularization they continued to use European instruments such as:
Violins, violas, and guitars (Ray and Engbeck 1974:16) and most stopped using native instruments.
Because of this neglect, there only remains fragmentary evidence outside of a few early ethnographies
and written descriptions of events in the California missions on native music, while several hundred
European style musical instruments were being played in California. (Ray and Engbeck 1974:15)
After secularization ...few California Indians were ready, willing, or able to compete for a living in

But the musicians and singers were in the worst position because their abilities proved to be nearly
useless outside of the missions their only realistic option was to stay in the parish churches. They did
not have the resources or supplies to survive in an agricultural environment, and their jobs were
completely unlike those that translated well into this new society physical labor jobs such as being a
vaquero or simply knowing how to work with animals and agriculture. This lack of easy transition to
the Mexican Californio society may have actually helped solidify Spanish influence over those
involved in mission music. This inability to survive outside of the missions forced them to continue
practicing their abilities in the parish churches, while some of them embraced their situations. This
was most true for the choristers who persevered in practicing their new religion and remained loyal to
the missions even after freed from the secularization (Sandos 2004:150). This dedication to the
missions was present over forty years after secularization in San Carlos Borromeo when

Ginsberg s Moloch Analysis
Moloch represents authority, those who tell us how we can and cannot live. Ginsberg proclaims this
when he calls Moloch the heavy judger of men, meaning he has the power to give and take, a
reference to capitalism, which is a system where the means of production and distribution are owned
by private corporations. Ginsberg was strongly against capitalism. He grew up with a communist
mother, and found the government having complete control of the country detrimental to society.
Subsequently, he did not like capitalism because, once again, much of the power was out of the hands
of the people. He reiterates this when he says Moloch is the cross bone soulless jailhouse and
Congress of sorrows! which seems to say Moloch is the power of the government or the private
organizations and its control over the people. He is, on one hand, calling Congress an actual place of
sorrows and on the other, saying Congress focuses ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, Ginsberg uses his Moloch to symbolize much more than sacrifice and false gods; he
represents a total ruin of society. Evil governments, economic hardships, and rejection are all a part of
Ginsberg s Moloch and he wants society to see the evil around them but he wants them to see it on
their own. Moloch whom I abandon . Ginsberg himself is almost like a god, always watching and
leaving subtle hints, but never interfering with the natural order of things. If people are to see the real
society, they will see it on their own. However, Ginsberg could also just be relying on the knowledge
of his readers to know who Moloch is or simply know that he is bad. It seems more likely that
Ginsberg is hiding his criticism of society behind this deity in order to spark an interest in this Moloch
figure and one day have the people protest for acceptance, free will, and a helping

Hockey Players Are Pretty Good People
So this brings up my first point and ethical dilemma; is it right for the NHL to put their players in this
town? One can argue that is not the responsibility of the NHL to control the actions of their players,
however, is it a good idea to even present the opportunity for a millionaire athlete to be tempted by
this excessive town, that is Las Vegas? Generally, hockey players are pretty good people, including
professionals playing in the NHL, or instance; P.K. Subban, current Nashville Predator, and former
defenseman for the Montreal Canadiens made an outstanding donation of $10 million dollars to the
Montreal Children s Hospital. Nick Foligno, Captain of the Columbus Blue Jackets also donated $1
million dollars to the Boston Children s Hospital after they treated his daughter for a congenital heart
disease, supporting the positive reputation of the players, being mostly, kind hearted and generous
guys off the ice. On the contrary, hockey players are known to have a bit of a reputation for being
partiers, Chicago Blackhawks star Patrick Kane has often been spotted having a few more beverages
than he should in downtown Chicago, he also got in trouble with the law back in the summer of 2009
for an altercation with a cab driver over $0.20 cents. Not to say that every NHL player that visits, or
plays in Las Vegas will be a drug addict and get arrested. Nonetheless, by the NHL placing the Golden

Exhibit: Five Forces Outline
1. Barriers to Entry Medium to High for the following reasons: a) Economies of scale the top three
carriers (Federal Express, UPS, and Airborne Express) serve slightly more than 85% of the domestic
express mail market. All three carriers deliver a high volume of packages, and thus, are able to spread
fixed costs over more units. Also, each carrier has integrated technological systems that improved
operational efficiency. In addition, intensive training programs of employees increase service and
delivery efficiency. b) Extremely large capital requirements are necessary to enter the market. Hub

However, such avenues of delivery limit the customer s presentation options (cannot bind business
reports / deliverables ). Also, the customer cannot transport a non paper package (e.g. a book, a desk)
via this delivery system. b) Regular mail only cost 32 cents for letters. The post office is also very
convenient. However, in regards to packages, the post office is very poor in quality service and
efficiency (cannot track packages efficiently and has an on time delivery record much worse than
commercial carriers) 3. Bargaining Power of Suppliers Medium for the following reasons: a) Postal
materials numerous suppliers of necessary postal and packaging materials. Switching costs are not
high. The postal materials suppliers have low bargaining power. b) Software programs combined with
extensive customized programming updates / additions. The software and software customization
industries both have numerous suppliers. However, given the complexity and uniqueness of such an
information network, there are probably only a limited number of software and customization
companies that can provide a carrier with a high quality system that is capable of smoothly integrating
all the operation and customer service divisions. Furthermore, the switching costs have the potential to
be extremely high because such a transfer could disrupt communication between the divisions, leading
to poor quality service. In addition, the company would

Strategic Assessment Of Walgreens And Mergers Essay
Executive Summary This preliminary strategic assessment of Walgreens will describe the company s
current corporate strategy and business model. Walgreens acquisitions and mergers will be examined
as well as the company s globalization and competitive frame. A brief overview of how the company
is performing and its cost based business strategy will also be examined. This is the first of four
reports that make up the strategic assessment for Walgreens.
Walgreens Corporate Strategy
Founded in 1901 in Illinois by Charles R. Walgreen, Sr., Walgreens was a subsidiary of Walgreens
Boots Alliance. In the most recent years, Walgreen s corporate strategy has been focused on mergers
and acquisitions, the first of which occurred in 2014 when Walgreens purchased the remaining stake in
Boots costing the company approximately $15.3 billion. (Walgreens, n.d.) With this acquisition
Walgreens became the largest pharmacy/health/beauty combination retailer in the world, operating in
all 50 states and 12 countries internationally. (Schauber, 2014) Mirroring its main market competitor,
CVS, Walgreens has also added Envision Pharma, a pharmacy benefit management company, to its
portfolio. (CVS acquired Caremark in 2007) (Bells, 2016) Due to previous acquisitions and mergers,
Walgreens is currently the most accessible pharmacy retailer in the U.S., servicing 8 million customers
each day and filling approximately 894 million prescriptions and immunizations, every year.

Going To College Research Paper
As a result of several motivational purposes, there are many driving factors to go to college that can
and will impact one s life. Before going to college, I waited 2 ½ years after I graduated high school to
finally make my decision to go to college. The reason it took me so long is that I did not know what I
wanted to do with my life. First, I wanted to be a probation officer, then I changed my mind to be an
OBGYN, then finally I made the decision to become a nurse. I know I have a long road of schooling
ahead of me, but that is okay. I have wonderful people in my life that encourage me to continue my
studies. Going to college is important since it can open many opportunities to get into a better career

Applicants who have obtained a college degree are normally hired at a higher pay rate and are
considered to be much more employable. This means that I, as a college graduate, would be more
likely to be offered the job position than someone that did not attend college or get a degree. College
will also help in preparing an individual such as myself for a career in a particular field. In almost all
of the highly specialized job professions, if one does not have a college degree, there is little to no
possibility of securing a career in that field. Also, college will give students like me the tools to
succeed in the career path of my choosing. These tools may not be available to people who do not
attend college. An individual who earns a degree from a college is more likely to have more

The Mid-life Crisis Essay examples
Mid life Crisis 1 Mid life transition can be seen as a difficult process because it is the point of our

not have a smooth emotional transition can suffer from a mid life crisis. What is mid life crisis?
Someone who would be going through a Mid life crisis is that of the age between 40 and 60(

What are some external factors that cause mid life crisis? Although mid life crisis can be triggered by
difference experience, it can also be triggered by external factors. Those who have a difficult time

make transition into mid life difficult are debt because most people are living above their means and

Monroe Doctrine Research Paper
The Monroe Doctrine: the Letter that Protected the American Continents James Monroe was the 5th
president of the United States of America from March 4, 1817 to March 1825 (Doctrine Monroe,
american historama.org). This enigmatic president delivered what would be known as the Monroe
Doctrine in December 2, 1823 (Monroe Doctrine, ourdocuments.org). The doctrine stated that the
United States was against future colonization or interventions in the Americas, and the decision of U.S
of remain neutral in European wars (Doctrine Monroe, american historama.org). The Monroe Doctrine

The Holy Alliance ended the rebellion in Spain, restoring the Spanish King, and it was said that the
Holy Alliance would send warships to New Spain to end the rebellion as well (Monroe Doctrine,

(Monroe Doctrine, 1823, american historian.org). Clearly, the Americas were in danger of being
conquered once again. For this reason, the Monroe Doctrine was a pretty strong message to foreign
nations to keep a distance of the Americans and that in case of an intent of colonization or intervention
in any part of the Americas would be view as an act of aggression requiring the U.S intervention
(Monroe Doctrine, 1823, american historian.org). The Monroe Doctrine was well received by
American people that heated European countries interfering with their affair and invading their lands

Portrayal Of Gender In Media
Media today portrays gender in many different ways. Whether it s a women doing a man s job or vice
versa. Overall magazines, tv commercials or any type of advertisement for the most part women are
seen as a sex symbol while guys are the hard workers. I did a random you tube search for Tv
commercials. Many commercials I found were banned from tv for being too sexy for Tv . A Carl s Jr.
commercial shows a women walking through an outdoor garden shop and all the men are staring at
her. She is walking around nude but in the commercial you are not able to see anything because there
are objects that are cover her. She says that she likes all natural juicy grass fed beef while she taking a
bite out of a burger in a bra and panty. Initially in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The commercial is between a couple. The husband is sleeping and she getting ready to go for a run.
She walks over to the laptop and sees that men have ran 3106 km and women have ran 1242, she
immediately joins the challenge. She starts running outside and squeezes her way in between two
other men that are running and ends up catching up to a few other women who are also part of the
challenge. Everything is becoming a race between the women and men even though the men are
outnumbered. Two women run pass a guy and pull out his headphones to slow down his pace. Now
the men are all checking online and see that the women are catching up with their distant ran, so they
all start to run including her husband that was sleeping. This proves that women can do the same as
men or even more. On Dorito commercial called If Women s Roles In Ads Were Played By Men
shows the roles reversed. Honestly to me it seems kind of strange seeing men playing the sexy hot
role, definably did not catch my attention. Overall any time of advertisement will always have women
as a sex symbol and men being superb to women similar to the Nike commercial. I believe this is not
an accurate portrayal because women can do everything men do and vice versa. It is very uncommon
to see men and women switch roles in any type of

Why Is Don John A Villain
Bastard, a child born out of wedlock, an illegitimate descendant that deserves to be slapped. Don John,
coined as Shakespeare s most passive villain is plagued by the society of Messina that rejected him
from the very moment of birth. Looking through the idea of predetermined roles in life, we can come
to realize the roots of Don John s agitation arises from his illegitimacy, stacking him at the bottom of
the social hierarchy. Here he feels obliged to act the part of the villain, delegated by his very own
blood. What exactly determines the words written on this label of hero vs villain? How much comes
from inner predisposition, from personal destiny, from mere interpretation? Is someone obliged to
become a hero or villain by virtue of their existence, or are heroes and villains molded over time with

He was given a house to live in, yet never had a true home. He was taken under the family name yet
would never be treated as a part of it. Even Don Pedro sook a more fitting companion to spend time

m sure you can come to see where the bitterness and spurn arose from, things he had no control over
defined his life, fitting him with more than enough motivation to spoil the happiness of the residents
of Messina. Yet being a shakespearean comedy, focused on displaying the comic and follies of
misunderstandings, it can fairly said he lacks the depth and development of some of Shakespeare s
darker villains from tragedies, rendering him an underdeveloped and arguably uninteresting
antagonist. Melancholy and sullen by nature, he ironically believes that his brooding makes him
appear strong, but it actually shows him to be a coward. Don John is too caught up in self pity to do
anything that could better his life, so he simply lives to destroy the lives of

Topic: Essay #3 (A documentary presentation)
The Thin Blue Line The Thin Blue Line is the fascinating, controversial true story of the arrest and
conviction of Randall Adams for the murder of a Dallas policeman in 1976. It was billed as the first
movie mystery to actually solve a murder. The film s title comes from prosecutor Doug Mulder s
comment during his closing argument that the police are the thin blue line separating society from
anarchy . This is a re working of a line from Rudyard Kipling s poem Tommy in which he describes
British soldiers (nicknamed Tommy Atkins ) as the thin red line , from the color of their uniforms and
their formation. The crew who helped to make that movie are: Director: Errol Morris, Producer: Mark

Financial Statements Measure The Liquidity And The...
Introduction The financial statements measure the liquidity and the strength of a business. On the
balance sheet; offsets calculate the real value of accounts receivables and fixed assets. Uncollectible
accounts receivables and depreciation reflect the offsets reported on financial statements. In
accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP); two methods compute the
uncollectible accounts receivable expense. Just like uncollectible accounts offset the value of accounts
receivables; so do depreciation expenses counteract the value of fixed assets. Also called contra
accounts, the journal entries accumulate and are then recorded on the balance sheet.
Part One Uncollected Receivables The first technique is the write off method. Small companies with a
small number of uncollected accounts receivables, or, bad debts; utilize this process. Once a customer
account becomes worthless, a write off occurs. Immediately, the write off is recorded in the journal;
applied directly to the uncollectible customer account. The first step in this journal entry; debit the
customer s accounts receivable account. In the next entry; credit the allowance for doubtful accounts.
With this process, an accumulation of entries are completed during the period, as customer accounts
become uncollectible. The book Financial Accounting (Duchac, Reeve, Warren, 2014) states: At the
end of a period, Allowance for Doubtful Accounts will normally have a balance. Second, the

The definition of heroine is is a woman, who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding

Helen Keller is a hero because she has faced many challenges, one of the first challenges she faced

The Ontological Files
The authors[7] presented an approach in which ontological profiles are built. Ontology is considered
to be a hierarchy of topics which is used to classify and categorise web pages. It is also used to
identify the topics in which the particular user is interested. Ontology has some existing concepts to
which interest scores are assigned. Keeping the reference ontology, these profiles are maintained and
updated. With observing the ongoing behaviour, a spreading activation algorithm was proposed for
maintaining the interest scores. So this way of the interest scores updation, the most relevant results
are brought on the top.
Each built profile is an instance of this reference ontology. A user profile may comprise of variety of
concepts which is represented as nodes. Each node is represented as a pair (Cj, IS(Cj)),where Cj is a
concept in the reference ontology and IS(Cj)is the interest score annotation for that concept. Every
concept in the profile is provided with an interest score having initial value as one.
The ontological user profile is treated as the network of concepts and the interest scores are updated
based on the activation values. These scores are updated using spreading activation algorithm[8].
Input vector is also involved to represent the current interaction of the user. When the user selects
documents, the user profile is updated and the interest scores of the existing concepts are modified
using spreading activation. by this way the web pages in which the user

Would Anyone Engage In Smoking Cigarettes If Each Cigarette
Would anyone engage in smoking cigarettes if each cigarette had an effect written on the side, such as
lethal, or fatal? Advertisements pop up on the TV commercials, in newspapers, and magazines that
illustrate the reality of what happens when engaging in smoking tobacco, but yet people still smoke
cigarettes. Some of these advertisements campaigning against big tobacco companies use pretty
graphic and shocking images to convince the population that tobacco is just awful for the body. Health
organizations use real people that have had their lives destroyed by smoking, and show us the real
effects associated with tobacco, yet people still chose to smoke. Observing this advertisement, the

try and convince a smoker that it is not worth the risk. A person can use what they see in this ad to
push whomever they know to kick smoking to the side, and prevent major health issues. The first
element of persuasion we will explore in this ad is Pathos. Looking at the laundry list of harmful
effects in plain white blunt text, words like cancer, fatal, and disease really come out and smack the
audience with a shocking reality. These words put a depth to how dangerous smoking is. The majority
of the advertisement is black with white text, nothing fancy, just straight to the point. A blunt
informative way of addressing where this ad stands on smoking. The smoker in this ad is loading a
black revolver with cigarettes. A weapon is a powerful way of causing death and harm, as are
cigarettes. A loaded gun is dangerous, the smoker is pulling the trigger on his own life with every drag
they take from that cigarette. The reader feels fear for the smoker and sees the danger that is
associated with smoking. A person can really feel pity for the smoker, there s information all over this
advertisement about how harmful smoking is yet a smoker lights up regardless of the warnings. The

General George Custer s Long Journey To The Little Big Horn
The sound of gun fire echoed across the central plains like deafening crashes of thunder. The rich

victorious over the United states army, which was under the command of General George Custer, but
few people know that Custer s long journey to the Little Big Horn started in the heart of North Dakota,
at Fort Abraham Lincoln. Today this beautiful Fort has been reconstructed to have both historical

reservation only so if you would like to camp you should make you reservation early. The park also is
strategically placed at the convergence of the Heart and Missouri river which make it great for fishing.
In the fall the park is open to youth hunters to try and control the population of dear and other game
that are within the parks borders. The beautiful landscape is great for hiking and biking trails, both off
road and paved trails. One of the most unique aspects of the park is that it is open for horse riding.
Many horse owners love the park because it is one of the few remaining state parks that still allows
them to ride within the park. If none of these activities interest you, there are also other special events
that the park holds. For example, there are multiple color dashes and runs, along with a variety of
treasure hunts throughout the summer. With these options, available you don t have to love history to
want to visit Fort Abraham Lincoln. Fort Abraham Lincoln has been reconstructed so that it has

interested in history. The beautiful park allows you to tour the military post and Indian village, while

  • 3. Internet and the Music Industry Internet and the Music Industry Cassandra Utz University of Phoenix In our society today, there is a growing number of consumers using the Internet as a main source for music. The smaller music companies are having to come up with new and different ways to use the Internet to increase their sales. The music companies can drive there sales because so many people are previewing songs online by downloading it first. The artists are also able to capitalize on their music via the Internet. The Internet is capable of reaching all types of people all over the world. The music industry has been made ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The bigger companies like Warner Music Group, Universal Music Group, Song BMG Music Entertainment, etc., have the big dollars to promote all of their artists. Because the Internet has caught on, all of the music companies can promote everyone. Even the little companies can do this. Hopefully, the music industry will look at this as a blessing in disguise for the underground labels. Looking at this in the short term of things, downloading music could hurt the music industry and their profits. However, later down the line, it will eventually benefit them. In a study done by Ipsos Reid, it shows that 81% of the public that download music, often spend at least the same on records or even more than they did before downloading music from the Internet. The record industry must concentrate on offering value to the user and adapt to the publics needs (Vives, 2004). The music industry should try to realize that the ideas behind free downloads can benefit them. They should do what they can to market more from it, rather than turning their noses up at the technology behind it. They should realize that they waste more money on fighting the sites that offer free downloads and lobbing Congress to stop the downloading, they should build a system in which all music is readily available free. Making sites with easy to follow links to other online music store so that the people can buy music from the same place that they listen to it. With music industry coming into the ... • 4. Summary and Reflection of Both Sides Of Time by Caroline... For the Third Quarter SSR Project I chose the book Both Sides Of Time by Caroline B. Cooney. I settled on this fiction book not only because I ve read all three books in Cooney s series Time Travelers Quartet, but it just so happens to be my favorite out of all of them. This book is gripping to me because of the events happening in the book. A hopeless romantic going back in time, involved in two love triangles in two different centuries, then forced to leave one that she loves either way. I relish reading any kind of love stories, but I especially enjoyed this one because of the twisted storylines. This book starts off simple in the beginning then surely escalates. Annie Lockwood, the main character is a typical teenage girl who just ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Devonny Stratton, Strat s younger sister called the police because she felt bad for Matthew s family and wanted to know who killed the kind servant and why. Annie and Strat still kept going on cute, cheesy dates, but never kissed. The next week, in the library, Mr. Rowwels proposed marriage to Harriet and she accepted. She thought that now that Ms. Lockwood had Strat s eyes only for on her, she wouldn t have chance on marrying who she loved, which was Hiram Stratton, and thought that marriage to someone she didn t love would be better than absolutely no marriage at all. Mr. Rowwels turned out to be Mathew s murderer and Annie ended up going back to her own time, in 1995. There, she tells her mother that her father is cheating on her. Then poor Annie realizes, in the 19th century, Strat is doing the same thing to Harriet and feels guilty, because it s her fault. So to not interfere with history, she goes back to the 18th century, kisses Strat then breaks up with him, and goes back to her own time very heart broken about it. If I needed to change any part of the story to make it more Hollywood style, it would be to make some parts of the story a little more intense and dramatic. For example, I think that Harriet s jealousy of Annie should be emphasized more in the film. In the film, Harriet should try to do schism things to Annie and Strat s relationship or cry to Strat s family to convince them to hate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Functional Movement Analysis Essay Intro: This movement analysis project examines the free throw of a male college basketball player. The foul shot was broken up into four segments of movement which can be listed in order as the wind up, the set, the shot, and the follow through. We also examined the athlete s Functional Movement Screen (FMS), highlighting where the athlete excelled and where he had deficits. The FMS findings were applied to the skills needed to compete in basketball at the collegiate level. Lastly, we analyzed the arthrokinematics and osteokinematics of the joints during these movements, the angles of those joints, as well as the muscles involved during the movements. Description: To begin the study, our group was given an athlete. First, our athlete was asked to perform a FMS, which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Using the app, the motion was broken into segments, paused and a still shot was taken. A still shot was taken at the beginning and end of each segment. The segments included backswing where the ball was brought from waist level to just anterior to the head. Next was force producing movement where the ball was positioned slightly inferior to its previous position to where max power could be produced. Then critical instant , where the ball is pushed with great force (up until ball leaves fingertips), Lastly, follow through where the ball leaves the fingertips and the hand continues through its motion. • 6. At Land Maya Deren At Land (1944) is an experimental fifteen minute silent film written, directed and starring Maya Deren. Composer John Cage and poet film critic Parker Tyler were also involved in making the film. It deconstructs narrative conventions and experiments with film techniques. It has a dream like narrative in which a woman played by Deren, is washed up on a beach, like a fish and goes on an unfamiliar passage encountering other people and other versions of herself. Throughout the film there s lots of going through, climbing up, down, through. Deren is clearly searching for something; her expressions are often confused and hopeless. This film is open to multiple readings and interpretations but I believe the film depicts the tensions between self and society. • 9. What Is A Coffee Table Essay A coffee table, which is also known as a center table, is a low table , specially designed to be placed in front of a sofa. Your coffee table should be such that looks good, serves well and displays a few accessories that reveal your personality and goes well with living room decor. A coffee table is usually the centre of attraction in a living room. It should not just be not a mere piece of furniture but also be functional and hopefully likely to become a conversation piece among the guests Things to consider 1. Requirements are the priority: The coffee table that you plan to buy should be as per your needs, beforehand decide what will be the utility of purchasing a coffee table for your living room. 2. Don t forget to measure: The size of the coffee table will largely depend on the sofa size and the sitting arrangements. The standard height for coffee tables is from 16 to 18 inches, but may go as high as 21 inches. A higher table is a smart choice if you entertain frequently so that guests don t have to bend too much to set down their drinks. • 10. Dave Pelzer s Life And Life Essay Introduction Dave Pelzer s life started out as many children s lives do. He was surrounded by a mother and father who loved him and would do anything for him. He recalls himself as well as his two brothers being blessed with perfect parents who filled the family with love and care (Pelzer, 1995). His father, Stephen, supported the family and worked as a fireman in San Francisco, while his mother, Catherine, was a woman who glowed with love for her children and family (Pelzer, 1995). In the summer, the family would go on a vacation often times to Portola or Memorial Park, where they would camp in a large tent for a week. One time, they even went to Johnson s Beach, where the adventures were endless. In this time, Dave learned how to swim on his back and his mother was so proud of him for it. Every day was sprinkled with magic, especially as Dave s mother came and gave him a hug from behind. In this time, he had never felt as safe and as warm as he had at that moment, not knowing that things were soon to change in the most drastic way (Pelzer, 1995). Catherine went from a loving mother to a nightmare while Stephen went from a protective father, to a coward. Dave became the subject of child abuse, which had an impact on his childhood development explained by three well known theorists, Bronfenbrenner, Piaget, and Kohlberg. California Musical Instruments Despite their failure to convert them religiously through music, the natives were left with a Spanish influence because even after secularization they continued to use European instruments such as: Violins, violas, and guitars (Ray and Engbeck 1974:16) and most stopped using native instruments. Because of this neglect, there only remains fragmentary evidence outside of a few early ethnographies and written descriptions of events in the California missions on native music, while several hundred European style musical instruments were being played in California. This lack of easy transition to the Mexican Californio society may have actually helped solidify Spanish influence over those involved in mission music. This inability to survive outside of the missions forced them to continue practicing their abilities in the parish churches, while some of them embraced their situations. This was most true for the choristers who persevered in practicing their new religion and remained loyal to the missions even after freed from the secularization (Sandos 2004:150). • 13. Ginsberg s Moloch Analysis Moloch represents authority, those who tell us how we can and cannot live. Ginsberg proclaims this when he calls Moloch the heavy judger of men, meaning he has the power to give and take, a reference to capitalism, which is a system where the means of production and distribution are owned by private corporations. Ginsberg was strongly against capitalism. He grew up with a communist mother, and found the government having complete control of the country detrimental to society. Subsequently, he did not like capitalism because, once again, much of the power was out of the hands of the people. He reiterates this when he says Moloch is the cross bone soulless jailhouse and Congress of sorrows! which seems to say Moloch is the power of the government or the private organizations and its control over the people. Moloch whom I abandon . Ginsberg himself is almost like a god, always watching and leaving subtle hints, but never interfering with the natural order of things. If people are to see the real society, they will see it on their own. However, Ginsberg could also just be relying on the knowledge of his readers to know who Moloch is or simply know that he is bad. Subban, current Nashville Predator, and former defenseman for the Montreal Canadiens made an outstanding donation of $10 million dollars to the Montreal Children s Hospital. Nick Foligno, Captain of the Columbus Blue Jackets also donated $1 million dollars to the Boston Children s Hospital after they treated his daughter for a congenital heart disease, supporting the positive reputation of the players, being mostly, kind hearted and generous guys off the ice. On the contrary, hockey players are known to have a bit of a reputation for being partiers, Chicago Blackhawks star Patrick Kane has often been spotted having a few more beverages than he should in downtown Chicago, he also got in trouble with the law back in the summer of 2009 for an altercation with a cab driver over $0.20 cents. • 25. Financial Statements Measure The Liquidity And The... Introduction The financial statements measure the liquidity and the strength of a business. On the balance sheet; offsets calculate the real value of accounts receivables and fixed assets. Uncollectible accounts receivables and depreciation reflect the offsets reported on financial statements. In accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP); two methods compute the uncollectible accounts receivable expense. Just like uncollectible accounts offset the value of accounts receivables; so do depreciation expenses counteract the value of fixed assets. Also called contra accounts, the journal entries accumulate and are then recorded on the balance sheet. Part One Uncollected Receivables The first technique is the write off method. Small companies with a small number of uncollected accounts receivables, or, bad debts; utilize this process. Once a customer account becomes worthless, a write off occurs. Immediately, the write off is recorded in the journal; applied directly to the uncollectible customer account. The first step in this journal entry; debit the customer s accounts receivable account. In the next entry; credit the allowance for doubtful accounts. With this process, an accumulation of entries are completed during the period, as customer accounts become uncollectible. The book Financial Accounting (Duchac, Reeve, Warren, 2014) states: At the end of a period, Allowance for Doubtful Accounts will normally have a balance. Second, the ... Ontology is considered to be a hierarchy of topics which is used to classify and categorise web pages. It is also used to identify the topics in which the particular user is interested.
