Here at first we should have plan to direct marketing because it will ensure us that this particular
quantity of our final product will have to sell, according to that we can decrease our risk factor
otherwise we can t depend on retail market.
Here other important factor is transporting cost. It also affects our selling price, so we should have
already plan to our direct marketing on distance basis. Sometimes big company wants more
products in that condition it would be negotiable.
Sometimes company does agreements of final product purchasing where agreements can be on
quantity basis or timely basis (like different quantity on different month), so it will be also
profitable for us that for particular period we are ensure that this much our final product will sell,
according to that we can manage our production cost.
There are two different options for final product marketing.
(1) First one is that if you have good relation in local markets and ensure about personal sufficient
selling of final product through local market or dealers, which can be a good deal for you here you
can manage your selling price in terms of transportation cost.
(2) Second one is that if you have good agreements from big company on quantity basis or timely
basis at suitable price, then here you can compromise with your transportation cost

Langston Hughes Guilt
Langston Hughes definitely wanted to get an extremely critical point across with this essay. That
point was about the amount of guilt a young teenager can experience when not reaching the
religious standards that were established by those around them. This also brings up many
questions similar to, Is a young teenager s brain capable of comprehending religious concepts?
and Does society pressure young people into being a certain way? I believe these are the types of
questions that the author truly wants readers to consider. These issues weren t difficult to capture
from the essay due to Mr. Hughes s clever cause and effect technique. For instance, we saw
Langston Hughess emotional reaction to the lie he had made about seeing Jesus.

The Three Stages Of Prehistory

Grounded Theory
The grounded theory method is a method which allows counselors to understand the basis of the
research in its full context; it can later be tested, and is usually used when there is little
information is known about the subject in relation to counseling (Sheperis, C. J., Young, J. S.,
Daniels, M. H. 2010). The grounded theory model was founded in the 1960 s by Barney Glaser and
Anselm Strauss. Glaser came from a positivist background where quantitative researchwas
dominant and Strauss came from a strong background of qualitative research. Together, the formed
the grounded theory method which focused on allowing data to lead to the development of a
theory (Sheperis et al., 2010). In the article entitled It s not just you two : A grounded... Show more

information from previous studies (Sheperis et al., 2010). In addition, it was stated that
interviews and data collected from interviews is the richest type of data since the data has such
variety (Sheperis et al., 2010). However, in order for the participants to feel like the researcher
can be trusted, allowing the participant to further open up and divulge information, the
researcher must be sensitive and open in order to maintain a good client researcher relationship
(Sheperis et al., 2010). A limitation of this type of theory would be a researcher who does not
possess the skill of being open and sensitive to their clients, not allowing proper data collection to
take place on part of lack of provided information from participants. In comparison, a strength of
this type of theory is that the grounded theory model looks at the data first, making researchers
stop, take a look at the data, thinking about what was gathered, and then looking at the word or
the topic which was researched in a different set of lenses or from a different view (Sheperis et al.,
2010). Furthermore, this type of theory can be used to analyze complex social problems such as
violence within groups or relationships. These problems can be between people and social
structures or groups, without needing the

Tetrahydrocannabinol
Marijuana, or in contemporary language, Maryjane, Kush, and Weed, comes from a plant called
the Cannabis Sativa. Marijuana comes from dried Cannabis leaves. The leaves themselves have a
dark green or grayish color with a light and fine texture. It could be smoked, eaten, or used as
extracts like oils. The plant itself is indigenous to Central Asia and India. This plant began spreading
to Greece, Rome, and became exceedingly prominent in North and South America. Marijuana
contains a chemical known as tetrahydrocannabinolor THC. This molecule is enthralling and
pleasurable, because it binds to natural receptors in our brain. The biochemical and physiological
mechanisms of marijuana and THC will be discussed in depth in future slides. Nonetheless,... Show

Despite this plant having this many chemicals, only 61 are considered to be cannabinoids. Delta 9
tetrahydrocannabinol is one of these 61 chemicals that was isolated and synthesized in the early
1960 s. THC is considered one of the pre eminent and active ingredients in cannabis. When
someone smokes Marijuana, THC enters the lungs alveoli, or air sacs, and diffuses through a single
thin layer of epithelial tissue into the bloodstream. This blood will carry the THC molecule to the
brain where almost all the reactions and mechanisms occur. The brain contains many natural
cannabinoid (CB) receptors that are part of the endocannabinoid system. Natural cannabinoids and
neurotransmitters that are produced in the brain, for instance anandamide, are critical in appetite,
pain, memory, and even fertility. THC mimics many natural cannabinoids like anandamide, and
bind to the same cannabinoid receptors. These cannabinoid receptors are found in many neurons
throughout the brain. The main function of a neuron is to interpret signals from the physical world
into action potentials and neurotransmitters. THC could affect many parts of the brain. In the
hypothalamus, when THC binds to a cannabinoid receptor, it induces an action potential, and the
neuron releases a neurotransmitter known as dopamine. High levels of dopamine create a
sensation of euphoria for the user. Users using this drug report feeling happy, and creative.
Marijuana decreases the refractory period of the neuron, and makes it fire at higher rates. This
affects spatial memory, which is a type of memory that allows us to observe and record specific
spatial information from the environment. It also affects episodic memory, which are memories and
experiences from the past. Those who use marijuana recall many vivid memories from their

Dna And Tissue Extraction Kit Essay
In this study we extensively extracted deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) from an unidentified segment
of flesh distributed amongst different lab groups. In order to do this, we dissolved the tissues and
extracted only the genetic material desired using the Qiagen DNeasy Blood Tissue extraction kit.
We then used forensic methods of genome identification in order to determine the genus and
species of the animal These methods include gel electrophoresis, Polymerase Chain Reaction, and
Cycle Sequencing Reactions. After isolating the DNA, we gathered electropherograms from the
CSRs to determine the nitrogenous base frequencies of the extracted sample using a genome
alignment software program called GENEIOUS. Using this aligned data, we compared the results
to the online genome index GenBank using the Basic Local Alignment Search Tool (BLAST).
After analyzing the results of the alignment programs and the genome index, I determined the
genus and species of my group s sample as being Crotalus durissus, a pit viper located in
Southern and Central America. This data was determined with an E value of 2 x 10^ 5 and was
taken from the mitochondrial gene with a 97% accuracy match out of 187 nitrogenous base groups.
Introduction: Deoxyribonucleic acid, or DNA, is the polymer of nucleic acids that make up the
foundation of all life. It is the necessary code from which an organism is derived, including all
amino acids, anatomic structure, and even, in some cases, behavioral patterns.

I believed them (11). I can relate to George because he too had many people around him telling

My hometown was diminutive and old fashioned. I lived in the country, and living in an urban area
is contradictory to that of a city. Sam, on of the authors of The Pact, tells how the city is different
from the country by saying, [t]he sounds of gunshots and screeching cars late at night and before

Throughout the Strait, its width and depth changes. At different points in the Strait, the width
varies from twenty one to fifty two nautical miles (thirty three to ninety six kilometers)
(globalsecurity). The lowest depth is twenty seven fathoms (fifty meters). Due to the shallow depth
of the Strait, oil tankers and cargo ships can only use certain paths to sail through the Strait. Ships
can only sail in a ten nautical mile wide section at the narrowest point ( Strait of Hormuz , Briney).
These factors limit the number of shipping lanes, which then limits the number of ships able to pass
each day.
In the past thousand years, several empires have controlled the Strait. The ancient Greeks and later
the Persian Empire used the Strait to conquer the modern day Gulf Region. The island of Hormoz,
which is controlled today by Iran, was the capital of the Kingdom of Hormuz from the fourteenth to
late sixteenth century. The name Hormuz is derived from the Persian God Hormoz. In the early
seventeenth century the Portuguese took control of the Kingdom of Hormuz. The Strait of Hormuz
was named after the city Hormuz on the island of Hormoz (heritageinstitute).
During the different reigns of power, many different supplies, tools, and resources were traded
through the Strait. The Persians and ancient Greeks brought stone and styles of architecture that
shaped the later Kingdom of Hormuz. Traders from India and China

Grey s Anatomy Poetry Analysis
Grey s Anatomy is a popular drama doctor show to this day. They had a music event episode
where everyone sang and they had two songs that display the symbolic cycle. Both pieces
compliment each other because of their similarities in the symbolic cycle, birth and death. The
visual display of the songs fit together because of the setting and how the music itself develops
throughout each song. These songs were chosen to be in Grey s Anatomybecause they illustrate real
life of losing someone and being blind to someone s pain they try to hide. In How to Save a Life
and The Story the composers develop the theme of life and death.

The reason Torres is performing this song is because she is in a coma and essentially her spirit
is singing to herself to make own self wake up from her coma. In the beginning since she is in a
coma, it represents death as she is at the end of the symbolic cycle, death. She starts by saying So
many stories of where I ve been which shows she has experience of life and she is at the west
side where she is an adult knowing everything. As Torres is singing, she is walking through the
hospital as she gets closer to willing herself to wake up. One of the reasons was her girlfriend,
Arizona Robbins, who loves her and she has her child Sofia to fight for. Her child, Sofia,
represents life and birth as she beings her symbolic cycle. Most of this song is about being
experienced as Torres says she has climbed mountain tops and swam all across the ocean blue
and by her saying this, she is motivating herself to wake up and be strong for everyone. Also she
talks about how everyone around her is ignorant. And all of my friends who think that I m
blessed, they don t know my head is a mess. No they don t know who I really am . This quote
from the song proves her point how no one realizes how much she has been struggling in her life
and how she has had that pain of experience and depression from everyone. The song starts the

The brain grows at a faster rate than any other part of the body. By age 5, child s brain weighs 90%

One reason is due to increase in the number of interconnections among cells. These interconnects
allow for more complex communication between neurons, permit rapid growth of cognitive skills.
Amount of myelin (protective insulation that surrounds parts of the neurons) increases, which

Pere s Theory Of Te Wheke
In this essay I will be talking about Dr Rangimarie Turuki Rose Pere and how her theory Te
Wheke has influenced education in Aotearoa, New Zealand. Pere is a Tohuna Tipuna which
means the sower of the sacred seeds of knowledge and keeper of secrets. She wrote her theory
based on the knowledge she gained 12,000 years ago in Hawaiiki. Pere is an International
educationalist who has a lot of knowledge about education from preschool to tertiary level study.
Rose s monograph is used by government agencies in New Zealandas a training model. Dr Pere,
wrote a book Te Wheke: A celebration of infinite wisdom and is being used overseas. Pere also
contributed to the Te Whariki: National Early Childhood Curriculum guidelines New Zealand.
Pere s theory of Te Wheke has eight dimensions; Wairua, Taha Tinana, Ha Taonga Tukuiho (breath,
treasures that have come down), Mana (Divine vested authority), Whanaungatanga, Hinengaro (
The hidden mother , who is the intellectual, Mental dimension within us), Ranga Whatumanawa, ...

Pere talks about Whanaungatanga and how everything that is living seeks different sources off
earth but a main part of Whanaungatanga is family and relationships. Pere talks about
Whanaungatanga in her book Te Wheke: A celebration on infinite wisdom , which says knowing
where they the child s come from, knowing where they fit in the family, all plays a part in a child
feeling a sense of belonging, sense of security and value of who they are. A strength of this theory
relates to Te Whariki over a wide range of the principles and strand but the few that stood out were
Family and Community principle 3, Relationships principle 4 and also the strand 2 belonging.
These all contribute into Whanaungatanga. Talking with the child s parents and family members
that come into the centre is a way to meet these goals and to make a child feel a part of the Early

Watershed Lab
In the three lab visits to different steam, rivers, and watersheds the method in which we conducted
to record our answers have been consistent. The way we conducted the studies have been done the
same way for each visit. At each site we used a small table to hold items that will be used, kick
seine nets, vernier kit, temperature sensor, pH sensor, conductivity probe, and dissolved oxygen
probe. Also needed are data sheets for each different watershed to record the temperature,
dissolved oxygen, conductivity, and the pH. You will also need water waders to be able to go into
the water. As well as two small contains that you will fill up with water at each site, help when

Note that they don t have to be used in any certain order. To use the vernier kit you must be either
in the water to use. Grabbing the vernier kit plug in the temperature sensor on the side. Then hold
the sensor in the stream and wait for the degree (Celsius) to appear. Record the number that
appears once it seems to stay on a certain number for more than a couple of seconds. After using
the temperature sensor you can add another sensor or probe or take out and replace the sensor.
Grabbing the pH sensor, you the same, hold it into the water and wait for a number to appear
that has steadily stayed the same for a couple of seconds and then record it in your data sheets.
Grab the conductivity probe connect it the vernier kit and do the same as the other two sensors.
Record number and move on to the next probe. Using the dissolved oxygen probe is pretty much
the same as the other probe and sensors. Once the numbers appear record onto the data sheet, the
only difference is that once you find out the mg/L of dissolved oxygen there is a small box
connected to the probe. On the box you will find a switch that shows either to mg/L or percent of
dissolved oxygen. Make sure after getting the mg/L to switch it to percent to get both data
numbers. Once having used all the sensors and probes make sure to unplug them and place back

Nada In A Clean Well Lighted Place
Nada , is a term introduced in Ernest Hemingway s story, A Clean Well Lighted Place . The
concept of Nada has many interpretations but some images are more essential than others. Not
only is imagery important but the most important part is characterization. Most of the imagery
is present and put upon the old man. This is because Hemingway uses his personal experiences
and portrays them in his stories. He interprets them well, as the reader directly understands the
difficulties and struggles of his past experiences. Because of Ernest Hemingway s rough
childhood and raising, Hemingway s viewpoint of the soul is displayed in his images images of
blackness, brightness, nothingness, and quietness or peacefulness. In A Clean Well Lighted
Place , Ernest Hemingway shares the concept of nada . He proves this concept with the idea of
blackness. The repetition of the old man sitting in the shadow (Hemingway 175), implies that the
old man was empty and feels separated from the rest of everything that s around him. The same
thing applies for the old mans deafness. He isn t just deaf but isolated from the rest of his
surroundings. These images imply the intensity of darkness. The older waiter is suffering true
depression. The only thing that keeps him alive is the business of his job. This is why he is one of...

This impact relates to the term, darkness. As the old waiter was deaf and suffered darkness from
the world, he liked to sit late because he was deaf and now at night it was quiet and he felt the
difference (Hemingway 174). There was different ways the deafness affected the old waiter. It
brought him the reality of depression yet this was peaceful. Peacefulness pertains to the quietness
of the cafe as it brings a soothing, relaxing, and undisturbed atmosphere. The older waiter is
grateful for the quietness the cafe has to offer. He also uses quietness and peace to escape the

There are so many situations and circumstances that require everyday people to deal with
adjustments. This paper will be based on evidence based strategies to help with adjustments. The
first article is about two men, one African American and the other Caucasian, who come together to
co author a book on a subject that is headlining the news today; white police officers shooting or

How many times have we seen this transpire in the past year? What can we do to change the
disparities that are taking place between police departments and African American boy/men?
According to Attorney Benjamin Crump (Truth and consequences, 2015), far too many officers
say that they felt threatened, but if not for viral video; the murder could have been swept under
the rug. He also says there is a blanket of distrust, disrespect, and indifference thrown across
Black men in America. He believes that this is the result of the many deaths at the hands of
armed police officers who claim to be afraid. According to former Police Chief Howard Safir,
(Truth and consequences, 2015), these incidents do not happen as often as the media would have us
believe. He believes that police brutality and misconduct are inexcusable. He depends that police
are to protect and serve but can only do this effectively if officers and civilians work together.
Filmmaker Errol Morris believes that every time an unarmed black man is killed by a police officer,
and the act goes unpunished, racism is rewarded. According to Morris (Truth and consequences,
2015), cameras can offer the evidence but they cannot tell us what to do with the evidence. Kareem
Abdul Jabbar, the six time NBA champion, and Times columnist, answers the question best of what
can be done to change these disparities. He says that, pushing harder for police reforms, more

Cultural Relatedness Paper
Relatedness is the socially recognized ties that connect people in a variety of different ways. It
attempts to understand and record the ways in which people in specific ethnographic contexts
articulate and engage in the relationships that are important to them in everyday life. Relatedness
can take many forms such as friendship, marriage, parenthood, shared links to a common
ancestor, workplace association, just to name a few. These forms can be shared via many
different means as well. They can be shared physically by a body substance such as blood, semen,
genes, or mother s milk. It can be through spiritual means such as soul, spirit, nurturance, or love.
You can also have cases where more than one substance is shared.
2.There are two major strategies humans have used in constructing patterns of descent. The first
strategy involves the descent group being formed by people who believe they are related to each
other by connection made though their mothers and fathers equally. Essentially they believe that
they equally related to their fathers side as they are their mothers side. This is known as bilateral
descent (cognatic descent) from this bilateral descent arises two forms of kinship groups. The first

emphasizes the paternal role. Adoption can be seen in societies where members are encouraged to

The Tell Tale Heart Insanity
Edgar Allan Poe is a peculiar author who wrote many short stories that made his readers question
his sanity. One of his stories being The Tell Tale Heart about a man whose obsessions make him
kill another man. The story is told in first person as it deals with a man s mental state and his and
his fall into madness. The protagonist is the one telling his own story about his obsession with
the old man s eye. The man for eight consecutive nights stands in the doorway of the old man s
chamber patiently waiting to commit what he thought was the only way to relieve him of his
obsession. The man than proceeded to murder the old man and cover it up as best as he could.

is nervous but then proceeds to ask how being nervous makes him a madman. Ultimately, what is
author is saying through tone is that throughout the whole story the protagonist admits he is

Essay On Demand Of Fruits And Vegetables
Demand of Fruits and their prices
Aim and Objective of this study:
As the Indian population is increasing, the demand for fresh fruits and vegetables is also
increasing. Owing to the perishable nature and very short shelf life, these items require storage and
transportation facilities in order to reach to the customer in fresh state. This requires a considerable
amount of effort from the involved parties. The entire chain is fraught with issues like lack of
transparency in pricing (at the farmers end), dominance of traders, weak links in supply chain, etc.
This leads to loss of revenue to the farmer and increased additional costs to the other supply chain
partners, which ultimately enforces the final consumer to bear extra burden on his ... Show more

Analysis Of Bach s Orgel Buchlein
J.S. Bach was born into a stylistic period called the Baroque period. This period
was one of decorative, lavish extravagance in relation to art, architecture and
music. Similar to architecture at this time, Bach s music was extremely ornate
with heavy embellishments and was somewhat characterised by its ornamentation
yet still had a strict organisation of insistent rhythms. Thus, music of the
Baroque period is somewhat paradoxical in that, while it is extravagantly ornate
and emotionally expressive, it still manages to be rigorously controlled and
systematic. This may be seen particularly in Bach s Orgel Buchlein, more
commonly known as The Little Organ Book, which contains 46 chorale
preludes for organ which has been argued to be a key to understanding his
music as a whole. Each of these chorales within the Orgel Buchlein takes an
original Lutheran chorale and develops it by adding a motivic development.
Further, throughout Bach s Orgel Buchlein, he explores diverse range of
expressive techniques, techniques that had not yet been discovered by any of his
contempories as he combines a rhetorical and expressive musical language with
refined counterpoint. Bach had been determined to combine strict polyphony
with free composition whilst also using contrapuntal elements to articulate the
emotion behind the words being sung. This development marked the beginning
of Bach s individuality, personifying every note of each

OCTOBER 2013 Defining mission command Mission command is the exercise of authority and
direction by the commander using mission orders to enable disciplined initiative within the
commander s intent to empower agile and adaptive leaders in the conduct of unified land
operations[footnoteRef:1]. The commander is the central figure of exercising mission command;
he must be able to blend the science of control with the art of command as to integrate the
warfighting functions in order to accomplish the mission. During the exercise of mission command,
the commander understands the problem, predicts the end state, visualizes the nature and design of
the operation, describes time, space, resources and purpose, directs the warfighting functions and
constantly assesses the process. He must clearly understand the Higher Command s intent and
clearly transmit his orders to his subordinates. His subordinates pay essential role as mission
command system begins with people. Commanders base their mission command system on human
characteristics more than on equipment and procedures. Trained personnel are essential to an
effective mission command system[footnoteRef:2]. [1: ADP 5.0, The operation process,

Characteristics Of Tropical Forest
Tropical Forest: Tropical forest s major features are equatorial and subequatorial regions. The
climate revolves around typically high temperatures. Tropical rain forests tend to receive large
amounts of rainfall ranging between 200 400cm. On the other hand, tropical dry forests receive
150 200cm of precipitation and has 6 to 7 months of no precipitation, also known as the dry
season. (Urry, Pearson, 2017) Tropical forests are covered by large amounts of plant life that
overlap each other, which tends to cause competition for light. For example, broadleaf evergreen
trees are dominant in the forest. When the dry season occurs their leaves drop to the ground floor
and become homes to many species. Some of these species include insects, spiders, and arthropods.
The animal diversity ranks the highest in tropical forest than the other terrestrial biome. Humans
have impacted the tropical forest by creating communities and expanding population growth within
the forest. Now the agriculture and development the humans are creating are destroying the tropical
forests.
Savanna:
Similar to the tropical forests, the savanna also has equatorial and subequatorial regions. The
average rainfall it receives ranges between 30 50cm. Also, it has a dry season that occurs that can
last up to almost nine months. (Urry, Pearson, 2017) Unlike tropical forests, the temperatures in a
savanna biome stays in low ranges and they can vary by seasons. It is populated with trees that have
thorns and small leaves, this helps them survive in the environment. Most of the plants are adapted
to droughts and fire, which is very common factor in the dry seasons. Forb plants and grasses cover
the ground. Most of the animals the savanna inhibits are wildebeests, zebras, hyenas, and lions.
Overall, there are more insects, including termites. Humans have impacted the savanna by starting
fires that have minimized the tree population by destroying seedlings and saplings. Lastly, hunters
have reduced the large animal population.
Desert:
Deserts are mainly found at latitudes near the interior of continents. They hardly receive any
rainfall each year. Temperatures can vary by seasons and daily, depending on whether its
considered a hot or cold dessert.

never be tied up. For others its a glorious thing, they accept it as a way of life or something that

This might seem absolutely outrageous to most people but in Japan this was a respected
decision that Kenzo made. When the village found out kenzo had died they closed off his shop
and covered his body. There was a ceremony held in his honor to remember him as the great man
he was. Kenzo was respected for the decision to take his life, they understood why he did what he
did and didn t question a thing about it. The japanese are not like most people when it comes to
suicide, they accept and understand the actions of that person. Larissa MacFarquhar gives a great
example of how the Japanese view suicide in their culture:
The idea there is that one can take responsibility for the situation of your life by committing
suicide. If, say, you are the wage earner of a family and you are in unrecoverable debt, you can
commit suicide, and the thought is that that is an honorable way out, that rather than evading your
responsibility, you ve taken responsibility. You ve admitted it is my fault, and I m going to punish
myself for it. (Larissa MacFarquhar)
This quote gives a very good description of how the japanese think when it comes to committing
suicide. She explains that they think if they re in a stuck position like being in debt that you can
commit suicide and you will be seen as taking the honorable way out
Honor has always been a big part of the japanese culture. Especially back in the days of the

Snow Goose Overpopulation
The Overpopulation of the Snow Goose in North America
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to explore available research on the overpopulation of the Snow Goose
on the North American continent. The snow goose has been rising in population since the middle
of the century and has been escalating so much it is destroying their natural habitat. Wildlife
managers have just recently begun to implement strategies to combat this problem. Mainly through
the use of hunters the managers are trying to curb the population growth.
Introduction
There are three main species of Snow Goose of primary concern. The Lesser Snow Goose (LSGO)
is the must abundant and at the same time most troublesome. Ross Goose (ROGO) is very similar
to the Lesser ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hunting of the Greater Snow Goose was banned in the us from 1931 75 (Abraham and Jeffries
1998). Hunting was not allowed to promote population numbers, and once started in 1975 did
not have a high harvest. The LSGO and ROGO starting in the middle of the 60 s and continually
have extended their nesting range south into less extreme climate (Abraham and Jeffries 1998).
It has also been suggested that since birds are now living longer the older adults are now leading
the less wary young to safer sites and out of hunter s range (Ingstrup 1998). Ingstrup also suggests
that the artic may be warming and as Abraham and Jeffries cited there has been shown a
correlation between the snow melt and survival of nesting birds and their young. According to
Hodge the annual kill by hunters in 1970 neared 40% but in 1994 the rate had dropped to less than
8%. Thus allowing a great deal of the adult population to return to nesting sites in the spring.
Impact on habitat
The snow geese still nest in a primarily salt marsh environment. The geese have a detrimental
feeding behavior in which they pull up the marsh grass by the roots. This behavior is know as
grubbing and when done in mass quantities can destroy whole marshes for decades. A project
known as the Hudson Bay Project: Ecosystem Studies and Conservation of Coastal Arctic Tundra
has done extensive research onto

Atrial Fibrillation Case Study
Introduction:
This case study discusses the management of a 68 year old male who presented with chest
palpitations secondary to rapid atrial fibrillation. Atrial fibrillation is a common cardiac arrhythmia
with serious complications if not treated correctly. This essay will discuss the initial clinical
presentation of the patient and examine the management and outcome of the interventions applied.
The significance of atrial fibrillation including its pathophysiology and aetiology will also be
discussed.
Description of the case:
A 68 year old male presented to the emergency department at 0800 hours via ambulance after
experiencing chest discomfort and intermittent palpitations since 0500 hours. Prior to presentation,
the patient stated he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Medical involvement included pharmacological intervention. An infusion of Sotalol 40mg was
administered intravenously at approx 0930 over thirty minutes with continuous cardiac monitoring.
Sotalol, an antiarrhythmic drug, depresses the sinus heart rate, decreases atrioventricular conduction,
decreases cardiac output and decreases systolic and diastolic blood pressure (Bryant, Knights, amp;
Salerno, 2003). As the patient was already hemodynamically compromised, a bolus of fluid
(Gelofusion 500mls) was administered prior to the Sotalol infusion. The aim was to increase the
circulating volume and raise blood pressure. Vital signs remained stable during the infusion,
however the heart rate was neither converted to sinus rhythm or reduced to a normal rate.
At 1130 a second antiarrhythmic drug, Amiodarone 150mg, was administered via intravenous
infusion. Its action is unknown however is thought to prolong the action potential duration
(Siddoway, 2003). Similar to the Sotolol no effect was noted with the rate or rhythm. The patients
blood pressure remained low, 96/67 and heart rate fluctuating between 100 130 beats per minute.
The patient was asymptomatic with his blood pressure but remained sweaty and lethargic. He
received further intravenous fluids whilst the medical officer discussed his presentation with the
cardiology team.
After discussion with the patient

Deforestation And Global Climate Change
Human development relies on deforestation as a method to reclaim land, to cultivate more
farmlands, to sell forest products and to increase economic prosperity, but with serious
consequences of environmental degradation and global climate change. The country of Nepal has
an alarming rate of deforestation. Due to its geographical positioning, it is in a prime position to
sequester a significant amount of carbon from our atmosphere with its forests. However, like
much of South Asia, Nepal has lost much of the forest that was once widespread and only 30% of
the forest that covered Nepal still remains (Niraula et al. 2013).
Although there are varying definitions of deforestation, this report follows the authority of the UN
Food and Agriculture (FAO) defines deforestation as forest loss where tree cover is reduced to less
than 10% of the previously forested area (CITE)

Conceptual Framework
This report seeks to define the causes of deforestation in Nepal based on the works of Geist and
Lambin (2002), who developed a framework for understanding deforestation as resulting from broad
and complex underlying causes which in turn enable or encourage the agents of deforestation who
embody the direct, or proximate causes. Proximate causes of deforestation are dominantly results of
human action, and can be understood as being comprised of three main categories, namely
agricultural expansion, wood extraction and infrastructure extension. The factors underlying these
can be divided into

Hurdle And Gerrit Cole In Major League Baseball
Imagine it is the final game of the Major League Baseball (MLB) season in the seventh inning of
an interleague game between the National League (NL) Pittsburgh Pirates and the American
League (AL) Toronto Blue Jays. Gerrit Cole is pitching for the hometown Pirates and is having
an exceptional game, allowing only one unearned run. The Jays lead 1 0 and Gerrit Cole is up
next to bat. The question then for General Manager, Clint Hurdle, is whether to pinch hit for him
in exchange for a better hitter, or to leave him in the game so he can continue to pitch. If only
there was a way to keep Cole in the game, while having someone like Pedro Alvarez; a non
everyday starter who can hit the ball, pinch hit and give their team the best chance to win... Show

What it comes down to is the difference between the need to do something and the option to do
something. None other than Bill James, a widely known baseball writer, noted that the perceived
strategy is actually very trite, predictable, and actually nonstrategic. Instead of manager s deciding
on what substitution, or lack thereof, can give their team an advantage, they are forced with
situations in which they must bunt, must pinch hit, and must double switch. As James notes, the
American League game allows a true option, and thus true strategy. This means that whatever AL
managers decide to do when it comes to offensive batting substitutions, they do so to benefit
their team, not because they are forced to do so (Meehan, 2013). These substitutions, including
the commonly used double switch where a pinch hitter is substituted for the pitcher and the next
inning is substituted again for a relief pitcher, take up time in the game. It is significantly a
problem in the MLB where the longevity and the slow pace of the game has caused many fans
to get bored sitting through a full nine innings. Especially with the addition of instant replay, the
game continues to get longer and it has become a challenge for many fans to watch an entire
game. Brian Costa, sports reporter for the Wall Street Journal, wrote an article about the reasons
for the length and slow pace of the game. He mentions that it has become normal for fans to
complain about hitters stepping out of the batter s box, pitchers pacing around the mound and
pitching changes. Red Sox Chief Operating Officer Sam Kennedy even states that this problem is
one of the most critical issues facing baseball as we move forward into the next three, five, seven
years (Costa, 2014). Joe Sheehan also wrote an article about the increasing

Describe How The Sociological Perspectives Explain Social...
Describe how the sociological perspectives explain social problems related to the family. The
family affords its members with a social uniqueness. Offspring are born into their parents social
class, culture and race, religious conviction, and so forth. Some kids have benefits throughout life
because of the social uniqueness they obtain from their parents, while others face many hindrances
because the social class or race/ethnicity into which they are born is at the bottom of the social
ladder. The conflict perspective accentuates that many of the problems we see in today s families
stem from financial inequality and from patriarchy. The problems that many families experience

Many children will adjust to their parents divorce, but some will continue to have significant
problems into adulthood. Parents sensitivity to their child s needs is one of the most important
factors in facilitating adjustment. Other factors such as the child s age, gender and temperament
will also influence how well the child adjusts. Preschoolers tend to be emotionally needy, have
fears related to abandonment, and may display acting out behaviors following their parents
divorce or separation. Preschooler are likely to become very distressed during visit exchanges.
Boys and girls tend to react differently to their parents divorce. As a rule, girls tend to become
anxious and withdrawn, while boys tend to become more aggressive and disobedient. Girls from
divorced families may become sexually active earlier than girls from intact families. Interestingly,
boys often adjust better when their mothers remarry, while girls have more difficulty. Children of
divorced families tend to have long term adjustment difficulties when there is ongoing conflict
between their parents. Boys are likely to display marked behavior problems when this exists.
Children s adjustment is also determined by the amount of conflict the parents had before the
divorce. Researchers have found that children in divorced families, where there is little conflict
following the divorce, do not differ in adjustment than children from low conflict intact

The separation of powers in the Constitution
Separation of powers is the division of political authority that gives a system of checks and
balances to make sure that no solitary branch turn out to be excessively infringes or powerful on
the rights of the citizens ( Gray, Kenneth, et.al 2005). The term separation of powersor trias politica
was formed by Charles Louis de Secondat, baron de La BrГЁde et de Montesquieu, an 18th
century French political and social philosopher. Spirit of the Laws is one of his publications and
considered as one of the tremendous works in the history of and jurisprudence and, political theory;
it inspired the Declaration of the Rights of the Constitution and Man and of the United States
(Anderson, Gordon L.2004). Under his model, the political authority of the state is separated into
legislative, executive as well judicial powers. He declared that, to most efficiently promote liberty,
these three powers have to be dividing and acting independently.
Therefore, separation of powers refers to the distribution of government tasks and responsibilities
into diverse branches to limit any one branch from exercising the essential functions of another. The
objective is to prevent the concentration of power and give for checks and balances.
The usual characterizations of the powers of the branches are:
* The legislative branch is responsible for issuing the laws of the state and

Examples Of Melting Pot In America
Melting Pot in America
I have always this question in my mind is America really a melting pot, Does America even have
their own culture. To me the melting pot is different cultures being represented, it is kind of like
you are making food and in order for that food to be good you put ingredients to make it nice. That
is what America is, it is different cultures being shown making it such a unique country. I do not yet
think America has acknowledge diversity for example in the short story Lullaby the Native
American and Americans are separated from each other but yet they live near each other. Their
culture is not being shown but yet being taken away when the doctor takes her kids. So even though
has so many cultures they have only taken what they wanted and have even made some up to
compensate for that.
In the short story Lullaby a old woman recollect her past experience with trying to merge two
cultures together. In the midst of the merging she lost her children and her husband. She lost her
husband by death but it was because he had lost his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The bad side of the melting pot is sometimes the culture is not even shown and when the culture is
shown it is now dimmed down to a smaller version of that. Which defeats the whole purpose of the
melting pot when we talk about the melting pot. It is supposed all of the cultures being shown and
the real authentic culture. America had a good intention for the melting pot but it has not turn out
good. With the story Lullaby it was showing two cultures come together but one race that was had
more power than the other overtook the other. The story Lullaby is what I would say is happening
right now with the melting pot. And the story The Handsomest Drowned Man in the World is what
America strives to have with the melting pot. To have new culture arrive and it be celebrated and
also have that culture make an

Eating at Restaurants
Going out to eat should always be a pleasurable experience. One goes out to eat at a restaurant for
several reasons including not wanting to cook, to share an outing with a friend or family member,
or to celebrate a special occasion. When going out to eat, there are three distinct criteria that one
must look at in order to determine if a restaurant does or does not meet a patron s expectations.
These criteria include the menu, quality of food, and the price of the food. On a recent trip to visit a
Mexican restaurant, Mi Tierra, where I had never been before, I applied these three criteria to
determine if I would make a return visit to this establishment. One of the first things that I looked
at, besides the restaurant s dГѓ cor, where there was much to be desired, was the restaurant s
culinary offerings. Like many Mexican restaurants, the first thing that is brought to our table is a
basket of tortilla chips and a side of salsa. I would not have given this Mexican restaurant staple a
second thought except for the mention in the menu that the first basket of chips is complimentary
and any subsequent basket would be charged at $1.50, which I found particularly peculiar since
no Mexican restaurant I have ever been to has this exception. While I perused the menu, I noticed
that it was chockfull of Mexican staples tacos, burritos, enchiladas, and chiles rellenos most with
the standard side of rice and beans. In addition to be able to order these items individually or as part

Magnetic Resonance Imaging
The introduction of Magnetic Resonance Imaging in the field of cognitive neuroscience had a
profound impact on the ability of researchers to localize and record cognitive activity in the human
brain. Created by a group led by Ramon Damadian in 1976, this cranial imaging technology finally
bridged the gap between the cognitive outputs of behavior and the inner regions of the brainwith
profound accuracy (Clark, 2007). Surprisingly, the implications for MRI scans are perhaps most
significant in the field of lie detection. As stated by Melissa Littlefield in one of her publications on
the subject, MRI technology represents a quantum leap for deception researchers (Littlefield, 2011).
This is primarily due to the fact that governments, law enforcement,... Show more content on

The study was one of the first to specifically address the limitations of polygraphs in measuring
cognition, as deception is largely a goal orienting process mediated by cortical regions connected to
the CNS. The goal of the study was to localize active regions during truth and lie generation and
determine if an accurate deception fMRI model could be established from the results. To perform
the truth and lie comparisons, the experimenters administered the Guilty Knowledge Task to a
group of 26 college students during fMRI scanning sessions. Participants were given a set of cards
and instructed to lie about a random card during the testing period. Langleben et al. used four
different truth and lie conditions using cognitive subtraction to determine changes in activation
patterns. The results from the study were clear. The researchers confirmed their hypotheses that the
regions of interest for deception included the inferior lateral prefrontal and medial superior frontal
regions. These areas contain intercortical networks responsible for attention, working memory, and
response inhibition. Specifically, the prefrontal cortex was determined to be significantly predictive
in discerning lies from truths. Langleben et al. suggested that the intensive load placed on working
memory during lie emphasized trials indicated that truth generation occurred more anteriorly

Throw Your Hands In The Air...Maybe You ll Hit A Drone It is never too early to be concerned
about the future. Especially if the argument and the justification for concern can be made now.
Jeff Bezos of Amazon has proposed a drone fleet that will venture into an unfamiliar frontier of
package delivery, bringing customers all orders under 5lbs their package by one of Amazons
specially designed octocopters . Though this plan is nothing more than to use drones to deliver
packages the idea is extreme and has people up in arms. The reason people are concerned is
because they foresee the older and larger issues that are being reintroduced by this new plan. The

Speaker, is surveillance, not the delivery of packages. Poe is not only voicing his own concerns
in his statement, but also the concern of his constituents. Poe is fully aware of the larger issue
because as a Republican representative from Texas he has been in many meetings in congress
for different issues that all address protecting privacy of Americans. Poe knows that if the plan
were to grow that would mean the American government is supporting and putting time, effort,
and funds into something that goes towards violating the right to privacy the American people
have. However, the authors response to the Poe statement is to present evidence of another
senator who claims, Before drones start delivering packages, we need the FAA to deliver
privacy protections for the American public, This defense to the argument that people shouldn t
be concerned of Amazon s drone use yet this falls short of addressing the real issue. Senator Ed
Markey, who made this defense, is ignoring the point that this plan like any other drone related
plan would be infringing people s privacy. People are right to be up in arms so they can protect
themselves from the government allowing their privacy to be violated. To claim that its only with
regard to the Amazon drones is a bold claim because there are a hundred other proposed plans from

Literary Explication Of Acquainted With The Night
Literary Explication of Acquainted with The Night In the poem Acquainted with The Night by
Robert Frost, the speaker of the poem has walked around at night a lot in his life. He has walked
away and back to somewhere in the rain. He has walked in the city and beyond, perhaps out of
the city. He has been down the lonely dark streets. He walks by a watchman, but did not look
because he did not want to have to give an explanation of what he was doing there. He has
stopped to listen to a voice calling out from another street, hoping that is was someone that was
looking for him. The speaker looks up at a luminary clock , which is the moon, but was not very
satisfied with the time that it has shown. He ends up referring to the first line of the poem, he has
been acquainted with the night. Robert Frostuses symbolism, setting, and the speaker himself to
tell the story of the man who has been acquainted with the night. The first literary element used in
Acquainted with The Night is symbolism. Darkness and light are used in the poem, more being
the lack of light. The poem could be seen as a metaphor of depression and loneliness. Even though
it is night time, the moon still reaches the streets, a symbol of hope. The first line establishes the
setting of the poem, I have been... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most of the imagery in this poem seems to be far away and distant from the moon, to the far

line 3 the speaker has passed the furthest city lights (Frost, 1928). By walking, the speaker has
created this distance himself. In line 11 the moon is used as the most distant image in the poem.
And further still an unearthly height (Frost, 1928). The speaker feels so distant from other humans

  • 3. Langston Hughes Guilt Langston Hughes definitely wanted to get an extremely critical point across with this essay. That point was about the amount of guilt a young teenager can experience when not reaching the religious standards that were established by those around them. This also brings up many questions similar to, Is a young teenager s brain capable of comprehending religious concepts? and Does society pressure young people into being a certain way? I believe these are the types of questions that the author truly wants readers to consider. These issues weren t difficult to capture from the essay due to Mr. Hughes s clever cause and effect technique. Grounded Theory The grounded theory method is a method which allows counselors to understand the basis of the research in its full context; it can later be tested, and is usually used when there is little information is known about the subject in relation to counseling (Sheperis, C. J., Young, J. S., Daniels, M. H. 2010). The grounded theory model was founded in the 1960 s by Barney Glaser and Anselm Strauss. Glaser came from a positivist background where quantitative researchwas dominant and Strauss came from a strong background of qualitative research. Together, the formed the grounded theory method which focused on allowing data to lead to the development of a theory (Sheperis et al., 2010). Data using the grounded theory method is collected using journals, case notes, and information from previous studies (Sheperis et al., 2010). In addition, it was stated that interviews and data collected from interviews is the richest type of data since the data has such variety (Sheperis et al., 2010). However, in order for the participants to feel like the researcher can be trusted, allowing the participant to further open up and divulge information, the researcher must be sensitive and open in order to maintain a good client researcher relationship (Sheperis et al., 2010). A limitation of this type of theory would be a researcher who does not possess the skill of being open and sensitive to their clients, not allowing proper data collection to take place on part of lack of provided information from participants. In comparison, a strength of this type of theory is that the grounded theory model looks at the data first, making researchers stop, take a look at the data, thinking about what was gathered, and then looking at the word or the topic which was researched in a different set of lenses or from a different view (Sheperis et al., 2010). Furthermore, this type of theory can be used to analyze complex social problems such as violence within groups or relationships. • 7. Tetrahydrocannabinol Marijuana, or in contemporary language, Maryjane, Kush, and Weed, comes from a plant called the Cannabis Sativa. Marijuana comes from dried Cannabis leaves. The leaves themselves have a dark green or grayish color with a light and fine texture. It could be smoked, eaten, or used as extracts like oils. The plant itself is indigenous to Central Asia and India. This plant began spreading to Greece, Rome, and became exceedingly prominent in North and South America. Marijuana contains a chemical known as tetrahydrocannabinolor THC. This molecule is enthralling and pleasurable, because it binds to natural receptors in our brain. The biochemical and physiological mechanisms of marijuana and THC will be discussed in depth in future slides. Nonetheless,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Despite this plant having this many chemicals, only 61 are considered to be cannabinoids. Delta 9 tetrahydrocannabinol is one of these 61 chemicals that was isolated and synthesized in the early 1960 s. THC is considered one of the pre eminent and active ingredients in cannabis. When someone smokes Marijuana, THC enters the lungs alveoli, or air sacs, and diffuses through a single thin layer of epithelial tissue into the bloodstream. This blood will carry the THC molecule to the brain where almost all the reactions and mechanisms occur. The brain contains many natural cannabinoid (CB) receptors that are part of the endocannabinoid system. Natural cannabinoids and neurotransmitters that are produced in the brain, for instance anandamide, are critical in appetite, pain, memory, and even fertility. THC mimics many natural cannabinoids like anandamide, and bind to the same cannabinoid receptors. These cannabinoid receptors are found in many neurons throughout the brain. The main function of a neuron is to interpret signals from the physical world into action potentials and neurotransmitters. THC could affect many parts of the brain. In the hypothalamus, when THC binds to a cannabinoid receptor, it induces an action potential, and the neuron releases a neurotransmitter known as dopamine. High levels of dopamine create a sensation of euphoria for the user. Users using this drug report feeling happy, and creative. Marijuana decreases the refractory period of the neuron, and makes it fire at higher rates. This affects spatial memory, which is a type of memory that allows us to observe and record specific spatial information from the environment. It also affects episodic memory, which are memories and experiences from the past. Those who use marijuana recall many vivid memories from their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Dna And Tissue Extraction Kit Essay In this study we extensively extracted deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) from an unidentified segment of flesh distributed amongst different lab groups. In order to do this, we dissolved the tissues and extracted only the genetic material desired using the Qiagen DNeasy Blood Tissue extraction kit. We then used forensic methods of genome identification in order to determine the genus and species of the animal These methods include gel electrophoresis, Polymerase Chain Reaction, and Cycle Sequencing Reactions. After isolating the DNA, we gathered electropherograms from the CSRs to determine the nitrogenous base frequencies of the extracted sample using a genome alignment software program called GENEIOUS. Using this aligned data, we compared the results to the online genome index GenBank using the Basic Local Alignment Search Tool (BLAST). After analyzing the results of the alignment programs and the genome index, I determined the genus and species of my group s sample as being Crotalus durissus, a pit viper located in Southern and Central America. This data was determined with an E value of 2 x 10^ 5 and was taken from the mitochondrial gene with a 97% accuracy match out of 187 nitrogenous base groups. She starts by saying So many stories of where I ve been which shows she has experience of life and she is at the west side where she is an adult knowing everything. The concept of Nada has many interpretations but some images are more essential than others. Not only is imagery important but the most important part is characterization. Most of the imagery is present and put upon the old man. This is because Hemingway uses his personal experiences and portrays them in his stories. He interprets them well, as the reader directly understands the difficulties and struggles of his past experiences. Because of Ernest Hemingway s rough childhood and raising, Hemingway s viewpoint of the soul is displayed in his images images of blackness, brightness, nothingness, and quietness or peacefulness. • 29. Analysis Of Bach s Orgel Buchlein J.S. Bach was born into a stylistic period called the Baroque period. This period was one of decorative, lavish extravagance in relation to art, architecture and music. Similar to architecture at this time, Bach s music was extremely ornate with heavy embellishments and was somewhat characterised by its ornamentation yet still had a strict organisation of insistent rhythms. Thus, music of the Baroque period is somewhat paradoxical in that, while it is extravagantly ornate and emotionally expressive, it still manages to be rigorously controlled and systematic. This may be seen particularly in Bach s Orgel Buchlein, more commonly known as The Little Organ Book, which contains 46 chorale preludes for organ which has been argued to be a key to understanding his music as a whole. Each of these chorales within the Orgel Buchlein takes an original Lutheran chorale and develops it by adding a motivic development. Further, throughout Bach s Orgel Buchlein, he explores diverse range of expressive techniques, techniques that had not yet been discovered by any of his contempories as he combines a rhetorical and expressive musical language with refined counterpoint. Bach had been determined to combine strict polyphony with free composition whilst also using contrapuntal elements to articulate the emotion behind the words being sung. This development marked the beginning of Bach s individuality, personifying every note of each ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

SERBAN TIMOFTE (ROU) 10 OCTOBER 2013 Defining mission command Mission command is the exercise of authority and direction by the commander using mission orders to enable disciplined initiative within the commander s intent to empower agile and adaptive leaders in the conduct of unified land operations[footnoteRef:1]. The commander is the central figure of exercising mission command; he must be able to blend the science of control with the art of command as to integrate the warfighting functions in order to accomplish the mission. During the exercise of mission command, the commander understands the problem, predicts the end state, visualizes the nature and design of the operation, describes time, space, resources and purpose, directs the warfighting functions and constantly assesses the process. He must clearly understand the Higher Command s intent and clearly transmit his orders to his subordinates. His subordinates pay essential role as mission command system begins with people. Commanders base their mission command system on human characteristics more than on equipment and procedures. Trained personnel are essential to an effective mission command system[footnoteRef:2]. • 31. Characteristics Of Tropical Forest Tropical Forest: Tropical forest s major features are equatorial and subequatorial regions. The climate revolves around typically high temperatures. Tropical rain forests tend to receive large amounts of rainfall ranging between 200 400cm. On the other hand, tropical dry forests receive 150 200cm of precipitation and has 6 to 7 months of no precipitation, also known as the dry season. (Urry, Pearson, 2017) Tropical forests are covered by large amounts of plant life that overlap each other, which tends to cause competition for light. For example, broadleaf evergreen trees are dominant in the forest. When the dry season occurs their leaves drop to the ground floor and become homes to many species. Some of these species include insects, spiders, and arthropods. The animal diversity ranks the highest in tropical forest than the other terrestrial biome. Humans have impacted the tropical forest by creating communities and expanding population growth within the forest. Now the agriculture and development the humans are creating are destroying the tropical forests. Savanna: Similar to the tropical forests, the savanna also has equatorial and subequatorial regions. The average rainfall it receives ranges between 30 50cm. Also, it has a dry season that occurs that can last up to almost nine months. (Urry, Pearson, 2017) Unlike tropical forests, the temperatures in a savanna biome stays in low ranges and they can vary by seasons. It is populated with trees that have thorns and small leaves, this helps them survive in the environment. Most of the plants are adapted to droughts and fire, which is very common factor in the dry seasons. Forb plants and grasses cover the ground. Most of the animals the savanna inhibits are wildebeests, zebras, hyenas, and lions. Overall, there are more insects, including termites. Humans have impacted the savanna by starting fires that have minimized the tree population by destroying seedlings and saplings. Lastly, hunters have reduced the large animal population. Desert: Deserts are mainly found at latitudes near the interior of continents. They hardly receive any rainfall each year. Temperatures can vary by seasons and daily, depending on whether its considered a hot or cold dessert. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The japanese are not like most people when it comes to suicide, they accept and understand the actions of that person. Larissa MacFarquhar gives a great example of how the Japanese view suicide in their culture: The idea there is that one can take responsibility for the situation of your life by committing suicide. If, say, you are the wage earner of a family and you are in unrecoverable debt, you can commit suicide, and the thought is that that is an honorable way out, that rather than evading your responsibility, you ve taken responsibility. You ve admitted it is my fault, and I m going to punish myself for it. (Larissa MacFarquhar) This quote gives a very good description of how the japanese think when it comes to committing suicide. Snow Goose Overpopulation The Overpopulation of the Snow Goose in North America Abstract The purpose of this paper is to explore available research on the overpopulation of the Snow Goose on the North American continent. The snow goose has been rising in population since the middle of the century and has been escalating so much it is destroying their natural habitat. Wildlife managers have just recently begun to implement strategies to combat this problem. Mainly through the use of hunters the managers are trying to curb the population growth. Hunting was not allowed to promote population numbers, and once started in 1975 did not have a high harvest. The LSGO and ROGO starting in the middle of the 60 s and continually have extended their nesting range south into less extreme climate (Abraham and Jeffries 1998). It has also been suggested that since birds are now living longer the older adults are now leading the less wary young to safer sites and out of hunter s range (Ingstrup 1998). Ingstrup also suggests that the artic may be warming and as Abraham and Jeffries cited there has been shown a correlation between the snow melt and survival of nesting birds and their young. According to Hodge the annual kill by hunters in 1970 neared 40% but in 1994 the rate had dropped to less than 8%. Thus allowing a great deal of the adult population to return to nesting sites in the spring. Impact on habitat The snow geese still nest in a primarily salt marsh environment. The geese have a detrimental feeding behavior in which they pull up the marsh grass by the roots. This behavior is know as grubbing and when done in mass quantities can destroy whole marshes for decades. Deforestation And Global Climate Change Human development relies on deforestation as a method to reclaim land, to cultivate more farmlands, to sell forest products and to increase economic prosperity, but with serious consequences of environmental degradation and global climate change. The country of Nepal has an alarming rate of deforestation. Due to its geographical positioning, it is in a prime position to sequester a significant amount of carbon from our atmosphere with its forests. However, like much of South Asia, Nepal has lost much of the forest that was once widespread and only 30% of the forest that covered Nepal still remains (Niraula et al. 2013). Although there are varying definitions of deforestation, this report follows the authority of the UN Food and Agriculture (FAO) defines deforestation as forest loss where tree cover is reduced to less than 10% of the previously forested area (CITE)
Conceptual Framework This report seeks to define the causes of deforestation in Nepal based on the works of Geist and Lambin (2002), who developed a framework for understanding deforestation as resulting from broad and complex underlying causes which in turn enable or encourage the agents of deforestation who embody the direct, or proximate causes. Proximate causes of deforestation are dominantly results of human action, and can be understood as being comprised of three main categories, namely agricultural expansion, wood extraction and infrastructure extension. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What it comes down to is the difference between the need to do something and the option to do something. None other than Bill James, a widely known baseball writer, noted that the perceived strategy is actually very trite, predictable, and actually nonstrategic. Instead of manager s deciding on what substitution, or lack thereof, can give their team an advantage, they are forced with situations in which they must bunt, must pinch hit, and must double switch. As James notes, the American League game allows a true option, and thus true strategy. This means that whatever AL managers decide to do when it comes to offensive batting substitutions, they do so to benefit their team, not because they are forced to do so (Meehan, 2013). These substitutions, including the commonly used double switch where a pinch hitter is substituted for the pitcher and the next inning is substituted again for a relief pitcher, take up time in the game. It is significantly a problem in the MLB where the longevity and the slow pace of the game has caused many fans to get bored sitting through a full nine innings. Especially with the addition of instant replay, the game continues to get longer and it has become a challenge for many fans to watch an entire game. Brian Costa, sports reporter for the Wall Street Journal, wrote an article about the reasons for the length and slow pace of the game. He mentions that it has become normal for fans to complain about hitters stepping out of the batter s box, pitchers pacing around the mound and pitching changes. Your Name Professor s Name Course number Date (05 October 2016) The separation of powers in the Constitution Separation of powers is the division of political authority that gives a system of checks and balances to make sure that no solitary branch turn out to be excessively infringes or powerful on the rights of the citizens ( Gray, Kenneth, et.al 2005). The term separation of powersor trias politica was formed by Charles Louis de Secondat, baron de La BrГЁde et de Montesquieu, an 18th century French political and social philosopher. Spirit of the Laws is one of his publications and considered as one of the tremendous works in the history of and jurisprudence and, political theory; it inspired the Declaration of the Rights of the Constitution and Man and of the United States (Anderson, Gordon L.2004). Under his model, the political authority of the state is separated into legislative, executive as well judicial powers. He declared that, to most efficiently promote liberty, these three powers have to be dividing and acting independently. Therefore, separation of powers refers to the distribution of government tasks and responsibilities into diverse branches to limit any one branch from exercising the essential functions of another. The objective is to prevent the concentration of power and give for checks and balances. • 48. Eating at Restaurants Going out to eat should always be a pleasurable experience. One goes out to eat at a restaurant for several reasons including not wanting to cook, to share an outing with a friend or family member, or to celebrate a special occasion. When going out to eat, there are three distinct criteria that one must look at in order to determine if a restaurant does or does not meet a patron s expectations. These criteria include the menu, quality of food, and the price of the food. On a recent trip to visit a Mexican restaurant, Mi Tierra, where I had never been before, I applied these three criteria to determine if I would make a return visit to this establishment. One of the first things that I looked at, besides the restaurant s dГѓ cor, where there was much to be desired, was the restaurant s culinary offerings. Like many Mexican restaurants, the first thing that is brought to our table is a basket of tortilla chips and a side of salsa. I would not have given this Mexican restaurant staple a second thought except for the mention in the menu that the first basket of chips is complimentary and any subsequent basket would be charged at $1.50, which I found particularly peculiar since no Mexican restaurant I have ever been to has this exception. While I perused the menu, I noticed that it was chockfull of Mexican staples tacos, burritos, enchiladas, and chiles rellenos most with the standard side of rice and beans. In addition to be able to order these items individually or as part of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 49. Magnetic Resonance Imaging The introduction of Magnetic Resonance Imaging in the field of cognitive neuroscience had a profound impact on the ability of researchers to localize and record cognitive activity in the human brain. Created by a group led by Ramon Damadian in 1976, this cranial imaging technology finally bridged the gap between the cognitive outputs of behavior and the inner regions of the brainwith profound accuracy (Clark, 2007). Surprisingly, the implications for MRI scans are perhaps most significant in the field of lie detection. As stated by Melissa Littlefield in one of her publications on the subject, MRI technology represents a quantum leap for deception researchers (Littlefield, 2011). This is primarily due to the fact that governments, law enforcement,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The study was one of the first to specifically address the limitations of polygraphs in measuring cognition, as deception is largely a goal orienting process mediated by cortical regions connected to the CNS. The goal of the study was to localize active regions during truth and lie generation and determine if an accurate deception fMRI model could be established from the results. To perform the truth and lie comparisons, the experimenters administered the Guilty Knowledge Task to a group of 26 college students during fMRI scanning sessions. Participants were given a set of cards and instructed to lie about a random card during the testing period. Langleben et al. used four different truth and lie conditions using cognitive subtraction to determine changes in activation patterns. The results from the study were clear. The researchers confirmed their hypotheses that the regions of interest for deception included the inferior lateral prefrontal and medial superior frontal regions. These areas contain intercortical networks responsible for attention, working memory, and response inhibition. Specifically, the prefrontal cortex was determined to be significantly predictive in discerning lies from truths. Langleben et al. suggested that the intensive load placed on working memory during lie emphasized trials indicated that truth generation occurred more anteriorly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Especially if the argument and the justification for concern can be made now. Jeff Bezos of Amazon has proposed a drone fleet that will venture into an unfamiliar frontier of package delivery, bringing customers all orders under 5lbs their package by one of Amazons specially designed octocopters . Though this plan is nothing more than to use drones to deliver packages the idea is extreme and has people up in arms. The reason people are concerned is because they foresee the older and larger issues that are being reintroduced by this new plan. The issue of drone use has been an extremely controversial topic in the US. There has... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Speaker, is surveillance, not the delivery of packages. Poe is not only voicing his own concerns in his statement, but also the concern of his constituents. Poe is fully aware of the larger issue because as a Republican representative from Texas he has been in many meetings in congress for different issues that all address protecting privacy of Americans. Poe knows that if the plan were to grow that would mean the American government is supporting and putting time, effort, and funds into something that goes towards violating the right to privacy the American people have. However, the authors response to the Poe statement is to present evidence of another senator who claims, Before drones start delivering packages, we need the FAA to deliver privacy protections for the American public, This defense to the argument that people shouldn t be concerned of Amazon s drone use yet this falls short of addressing the real issue. Senator Ed Markey, who made this defense, is ignoring the point that this plan like any other drone related plan would be infringing people s privacy. People are right to be up in arms so they can protect themselves from the government allowing their privacy to be violated. To claim that its only with regard to the Amazon drones is a bold claim because there are a hundred other proposed plans from the past that have threatened or actually ... Mate Bond Narrative The house was a mansion, chandlers balconies, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, something we could never afford back in my pack.I guess I was staring because I heard a low chuckle coming from Vincenzio. This is your house He just nodded. It is kinda hard to stay mad at this guy because of the mate bond I can here my wolf screaming at me to take him on the couch. I blushed at her thoughts and started walking up stairs, seeing as Vincenzio was talking to another pack member about something. The grand stair case lead to another story, I started opening doors and closing them, until I found one with Vincenzio smell all over it there was another smell there to I couldn t place it just yet. I really didn t want pt go into his room but that awkward... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I face planted on my whiter bed sheets thinking of Autumn In the cellar. • 52. Literary Explication Of Acquainted With The Night Literary Explication of Acquainted with The Night In the poem Acquainted with The Night by Robert Frost, the speaker of the poem has walked around at night a lot in his life. He has walked away and back to somewhere in the rain. He has walked in the city and beyond, perhaps out of the city. He has been down the lonely dark streets. He walks by a watchman, but did not look because he did not want to have to give an explanation of what he was doing there. He has stopped to listen to a voice calling out from another street, hoping that is was someone that was looking for him. The speaker looks up at a luminary clock , which is the moon, but was not very satisfied with the time that it has shown. He ends up referring to the first line of the poem, he has been acquainted with the night. Robert Frostuses symbolism, setting, and the speaker himself to tell the story of the man who has been acquainted with the night. The first literary element used in Acquainted with The Night is symbolism. Darkness and light are used in the poem, more being the lack of light. The poem could be seen as a metaphor of depression and loneliness. Even though it is night time, the moon still reaches the streets, a symbol of hope. The first line establishes the setting of the poem, I have been... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Most of the imagery in this poem seems to be far away and distant from the moon, to the far away cry that is heard. The physical distance can be seen as a metaphor for the speaker s psychological distance. In addition to being lonely, the speaker feels disconnected and far away. In line 3 the speaker has passed the furthest city lights (Frost, 1928). By walking, the speaker has created this distance himself. In line 11 the moon is used as the most distant image in the poem. And further still an unearthly height (Frost, 1928). The speaker feels so distant from other humans that he feels a little unearthly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
