Market for Belle Fleurs
Business Description
Our business is a flower shop by the name of Belle Fleurs. It is a retail store which means we purchase large quantities of supplies from a major
distributor and we sell it in our shop to other customers. We sell a variety of things, some of which include flowers and bouquets of flowers as well
as cards. Our flowers are local flowers in addition to exotic flowers that we ship from other parts of the world. These items will hopefully do well in the
industry and help us to earn a profit.
This business would be a sole proprietorship. A sole proprietorship is a business that is run by one single individual. I would be the owner of this
small shop showing that it is a sole proprietorship. We will hire workers to do other jobs that are in our business. They will be assigned tasks that I
may not be able to do.
This business would be a new business. We strive to create this business into a successful flower shop. The way that we may be able to do this is
through the use of advertising. We will use social media sites to bring awareness to our shop. Also, we will post flyers and posters around so that
people are able to see our business. We also will have a newsletter that we send to people that would decide to request to have it e–mailed to them. This
is so that people will become more aware of our sales and other promotions. We may send out radio and TV commercials to help with awareness as
well.
There would be a variety of

Rheumatoid Arthritis, what is it? The word Rheumatoid comes from the Greek word referring to rheumatism, which means any painful disorder from
the joints. Arthritis means inflammation of the joint. (William Collins Sons & Co. Ltd. 1979). Putting these two words together Rheumatoid Arthritis
creates a disorder. The pathophysiology of RA is that it is a chronic, systemic, inflammatory autoimmune disease which means that this disorder is

Low temperature, fatigue and weakness, elevated sedimentation rate and a positive rheumatoid factor. History of weight loss, anorexia and fever;
swan neck deformity and boutonniere deformity and a decreased range of motion (Silvestri, 2013). During an assessment for this type of disorder
you can tell if there are any joint deformities such as subluxation also know as dislocation can occur as well. Warmth or swollen joints, limited
movement of the joint or immovable joints also known as ankylosis. Skin may be reddened but does not apply to everyone who has RA (Rosdahl,
2012). Some studies have shown that RA has been linked to having cardiovascular disease. Is been shown that most people that are diagnosed with
rheumatoid arthritis are 3 times more likely to have a heart attack than others due to inflammation in the body affecting all other organs (Crowson,
2013).
Diagnostics to help determine this disorder would first be getting an x–ray done, a (ESR) erythrocyte sedimentation rate can be done to determine if
there is any inflammation and in this case there would be an increase in the (ESR), also a (RF) rheumatoid factor is performed, this is a blood test to
determine how much RF antibody is in the blood which is very helpful to determine if you have RA or an autoimmune disease, if there is an increase
then there is most likely a chance of knowing that you have rheumatoid arthritis (MedlinePlus, 2013).
Some other diagnostics can be a

Senior Prom Research Paper
The day of senior prom June 2, 2016 was one of the fun most stressful time of my life. From getting ready, making appointment, taking pictures and
arriving there was so irritating. I would most definitely do prom over again. Maybe without all the hassles and annoyance I went through to have the
experience. I may be more prepared next time.
Making appointments for prom was so frustrating. It felt as though I was experiencing my wedding day. Even though I planned everything a month or
two ahead of time nothing went as planned. Honestly I thanks God that I found my dress at the time I did. Else I would've been way behind schedule.
When making my nails, makeup and hair appointment. I was getting upset because the nail salon that I want to go to ... Show more content on

My sister and I started to get ready so we can take our pictures. Everything came together nicely. Her with her navy blue and silver two–piece dress and
silver heels and me with my mermaid fitted, open back gold and black dress with a train and gold open toe Heels. We were look amazing. While
styling my hair, taken out the pin curls I was getting frustrated. My curls wasn't coming out tight the way I wanted them. Me wanting to stay on
schedule I had to deal with the body wave look. Finally coming out the house to go meet the cameraman to take our pictures. I was nervous and
excited but, Not only was I excited I was camera ready. After an hour or so of taking pictures our ride was here. The way our ride was looking. I
could not stop smiling I was so happy. It was an infinity limo all black with silver outlining. In the inside it was looking like a nightclub with
different color flashing lights and loud music. After saying bye to everyone so we can leave to meet our dates and friends. Our Cameraman got in
the limo with us taking more pictures and recording. Finally getting to the pick up spot. Our friends were there but our dates wasn't. After waiting
five minutes they finally arrive. Even though I was mad at my date for not being on time. I was also happy because he cleaned up nice. We were
matching with gold and black with red boutonniere and corsage. Plus he got his dreads freshly twisted. I don't know why but, I was afraid he was gone

Same Sex Marriage Should Be Legal Essay
Individuals are in complete control of their own happiness, except when it is forbidden by the law. Prior to June 16th, 2015, thirty–seven of the fifty
states provided their citizens with the right to marry the opposite sex and thirteen states did not condone this behavior among their citizens. Having
equal rights for all people in America has the potential to boost the psychological and spiritual growth of our economy through individual happiness.
All people deserve the right to express themselves as individuals, even if that means that they want to be married to someone who is the same
gender as them. In September of 2014, two elderly ladies, over the age of ninety, who have been in love for over seven decades, were finally legally
allowed to get married. They had been together for seventy–four years while traveling the world and falling in love. Same sex marriage is harmless, and
now that is it legal nationwide, people should learn to accept others despite their sexual preferences. Same sex marriage has been a controversial
topic in the United States for years now. There are many people in the United States that despise other people who are interested in the same sex.
Researchers have found that gay people are three times as likely to have depression or thoughts of suicide due to discrimination. As it turns out, gay
people are no different from straight people in terms of their everyday lives. Each human carries out their own daily routine whether it involves work,

Plaid In A Country Wedding
Plaid might look a little too laidback for some brides and grooms, but there are actually a number of classy and creative ways to fit it into your country
wedding–without feeling like you've down–staged the entire day. Add the checkered pattern into your wedding in any of these nine ways. 1. Table
Linens This minimalist strategy makes it easy to incorporate plaid in your country wedding. Keep the table setting simple, and eliminate entire table
cloths, replacing them with a plaid table runner instead. This look is especially great for long tables where the runner can stretch from end to end.
Set plaid napkins on the table, instead of plain crГЁme ones, to add a kitschy yet homey vibe to the dining setting that perfectly encompasses the
rustic part of the day. 2. Plates If plaid linens are too loud for you, dress up the plates instead. Look... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pair the plates with rustic centerpieces, such as pinecones and ferns. For more ideas, here are nine creative centerpieces to consider. 3. The
Groom's Wardrobe A pop of plaid in the groom's attire is both fun and brings something new to the traditional wedding suit. The groom can wear a
plaid tie in a pattern that complements the suit and bridal bouquet. A pocket square or bow tie are additional swaps he can make, which add a
fashionable touch to the outfit. Whether he chooses a tie or a pocket square, the item doesn't have to be a loud pattern. It can be soft and subtle,
such as muted greens or blues. If he's feeling really bold though, why not try a plaid suit? You can be sure it's a game changer when compared to
traditional wedding tuxedos. 4. The Bride's Dress If the bride's feeling casual, she can wear a full flannel over her dress during the reception. This
look gives the gown a relaxed feel. If this look is too relaxed for you though, a thin plaid belt complements the dress, which looks just as lovely

An Emotional Connection Made with Audi Commercial Essay
Audi, the maker of elite model cars, designed an advertising campaign for the 2013 Super Bowl that claimed driving an Audi would allow the owner
to feel more daring. The advertisement opens up with a high school senior boy wearing a tux, with his mother pinning his boutonniere to his jacket. The
boy clearly looks unenthused about going to prom because he does not have a date to the prom, which his mother attempts to sooth him by saying that
there are many people who go to the prom without dates. His younger sister antagonizes her older brother about not having a date. As the boy is
departing his house, his father throws his son the keys to his Audi S6. The son's face brightens and he quickly leaves his house. He is driving fast on

With this advertisement, the Audi S6 is that object that provides the young man the courage to kiss the prom queen and park in the principal's
parking spot. The car provided the young man the sense of security to tackle his inner demons and carry out his desires with no regrets. The Audi
instills this sense of sophistication and authority within the young boy and that because he drove an Audi, the opportunity to be brave clearly
outweighed the consequences of his defiance, as demonstrated at the end of the commercial as he was driving with a black eye after being
beaten up for kissing the prom queen. The "Prom" commercial has a logical appeal. By creating the relatable story of an awkward and dateless
young man on his prom night, Audi was able to make an emotional connection with its audience. Their slogan, "Bravery. It's what defines us.",
permits a logical appeal that if an Audi can allow that young boy to be brave, than an Audi can evoke that sense of bravery within them as well. If
bravery defines a person, and an Audi defines bravery, than the car a person drives defines who that person is. Therefore, the logical claim that Audi
is making is that the car a person drives defines them, and by driving an Audi, a person can be seen as classy, brave and sophisticated. In conclusion,
Audi is trying to make the argument that owning an Audi is more than owning a car, owning an Audi is an experience that will instill a sense of class,
pride and bravery. This

Homecoming Week Essay
Homecoming
Students strut through the hall looking as if they are from another planet. A sea of bright blue flood the Wilke. Ear–piercing cheers rattle the bleachers.
Homecoming week is among the most memorable times of high school. Students are able step out of their comfort zone; whether that is by dressing in
flamboyant costumes, or meeting new people during Edgewood in the Community. No matter which event is your favorite, homecoming week is an
enjoyable and memorable time for all. The week starts off with its annual homecoming week mass. As students and faculty gather, the gym feels as if
it is bursting at the seams with excitement to finally start the festivities. Seniors involved in powderpuff were so excited to begin the week, that they
arrived at school before the sun rose. Shoes were soaked with dew, and shirts were dripping with sweat as the battle for the championship continued.
Braids, bows, and bruises can best describe the competitive flag–football league. As the sun slowly filled the sky with its warm rays, students filtered
into school wearing their best rodeo–attire. Cowboy boots clunked down the stairs, country music blasted outside of classrooms, and plaid shirts were
sported by almost everyone. During lunch mods, students were entertained with sign painting. An overwhelming number of people gathered around a
table with art supplies, almost as if they were thirsty animals at a watering hole. Orange, green, purple, and blue paint cascaded over the

Junior Prom: Ameritrade's Attempt to Break away from Traditional Marketing
Ameritrade, an investment consultant, has an advertisement out, in a recent issue of Wired, which is comprised of a largely romantic silhouette.
Featured at the top of the page is a scene straight from junior prom: a young man pinning a corsage on his date. Except it is not a corsage. Rather, it
is a boutonniere with green undertones and made of hands which sits centered in the image. It's a bit out of place for a female to be receiving a male
prom accessory and even stranger that this accessory would be made of human hands. This uncomfortable feeling is strengthened through a
disconnection between a young, romantic scene and the purpose of the advertisement, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Interestingly, this green is only used in conjunction with consumer focused representations: the boutonniere offered toward the woman, the prom date's
dress, and the tagline which serves as the advertisement's selling point. Ameritrade is subtly hinting at a financial growth through their services
alongside a progression through life. The hard work and dedication to the professional life is supposed to lead to a life's savings that will allow one to
freely enjoy newfound free time and passions in retirement. This, inevitably, is an expression of the American Dream– wealth earned by the sweat and
hard work of the individual. Ameritrade implies its "hand holding" will allow a consumer to more easily achieve this ideal. Even more fascinating,
however, is that Ameritrade seems to reject that the American Dream has come, nor is it right around the corner. Workers are still encouraged to
continue in their job and deposit money in these new "rollover IRAs". Furthermore, to receive your "free" $600, Ameritrade requires that you are
funding your account for at least a "twelve month duration". They are even quick to note at the bottom that "risk" is involved and success is "not
guaranteed". Therefore, while sales may depend on whether the consumer "buys" into the American Dream, it becomes clear that Ameritrade rejects
that such a notion can exist. In contrast, Ameritrade undercuts the advertisement's allure and connection to

Solving The Highest Level Of An Interest Approach
1. Creating a "felt need" is a saying used to explain the highest level of an interest approach. This term is best explained by a desire to know more.
The felt need interest approach forces students to take action, contains a provocative situation, and challenges students to a higher level than the
lower level interest approaches. A felt need is successfully created when the students feel personally connected to the lesson to follow (Moore, 2015).
2. In a Principles of AFNR course I plan to use an interest approach that relates to problem solving and critical thinking. I will play the song, "That's
the Night the Lights Went out in Georgia." The students will be asked to listen to the song with the instructions of trying to determine the murderer,
narrator, and victim. At the end we will compare answers and discuss the importance of paying attention, listening to context clues, and thinking
deeper before making certain decisions. I think this will be an effective interest approach because it puts the students into a provocative situation and
forces them to make a decision (Moore, 2015). Because most students relate well to music, they will feel a personal connection that will lead them to
being interested in the lesson. The second interest approach I plan to use relates the food topic in Principles of AFNR. I will have the students list
what they had for breakfast, lunch, dinner. They will then take each food item and write down where they think it came from. I will then ask

What is Rheumatoid arthritis?
Rheumatoid arthritis is a disease where the body's immune system attacks the joints and other healthy cells. This creates inflammation inside of the
joints, which then causes swelling and pain in and around the joints. If inflammation goes unchecked, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This surprised me because when you think of the immune system you think of your body fighting off the bad cells not the good ones, this brought up
the question how does the body mistakenly do that? Another thing I found surprising while doing research is that if its not treated quickly it can cause
joint problems, an example I gave in my paper was the Boutonniere deformity which is in the hands and it just sounds and looks painful. Occupational
therapists have a lot of different approaches to help patients with Arthritis but they all have a common goal of making the client comfortable and able
to go back to tasks of daily living. This is important because not all treatment techniques will be effective to the client and depending on where the
arthritis is you can adjust.
Conclusion
Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease, if its not treated quickly can lead to a loss of joints function or even joint deformities. There are many
different medicines to treat arthritis, but with the help of an occupational therapist they can introduce new ways to do tasks as well as give a client
tools to use in a kitchen, bathroom or while dressing to make things easier for the client and making things easier on the

My Best Friends Big Day Essay
My Best Friends Big Day My best friend, Malory, and I have been best friends for twelve years. Malory was like the sister I never had. We did
absolutely everything together; you very rarely spotted one of us without the other tagging along. Sadly, in March of 2014 my best friend was
stolen from me. The thief's name was Jordan. He practically swept her off her feet and took off running with her. When you were around them
you couple almost feel the love in the room, and when they looked at each other you could see the sparkle in their eyes. On September 7th, 2015 they
were on a trip to Fort Lee Virginia. They were out eating dinner and when dessert came out it was a slice of cake and a plate with the words "Will You
Marry Me?". Of course she said yes, but that was the day I realized I was going to have to give my best friend away to her better half. I could not
believe we were planning a wedding; I could have sworn we were just two little blonde headed goofballs that swore that boys had cooties. It started to
sink in the day she picked out her wedding dress. I was unable to go with her when she picked it out, but when I received a picture of her in the dress I
cried like a baby. The dress was an off white, floor length lace gown that fit her like a glove. Not only did I cry because she looked beautiful, but
because it was one step closer to the big day. Shortly after she picked out her gown she texted me asking if I would be her maid of honor. Even though

Analysis Of The Movie The Searchers
From the movie, The Searchers, it portrays a more idealized version of the whole great romanticized American West than a challenged version.
Throughout the movie, Uncle Ethan is depicted as some determined cowboy who is willing to do and give anything to get his family back and prove
his loyalty to them. He even goes to great lengths to hunt and kill the Indians just to get back what is his. He challenges the romanticized American
West a little when it comes to making some decisions you wouldn't see most cowboys doing as he brutally murders the Indians and undeniably shows
his racism and hatred towards them. The movie mainly romanticizes and challenges the myth of the cowboy a little to show the more unrealistic
version of how a cowboy is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After all, cowboys are meant to represent the great country of America and be our hero and role model to others. The whole idea of violence is
described quite differently in both works. In the movie, The Searchers, Uncle Ethan shows a rather special level of violence in which everything
he does is rather bloodless and nonviolent, for the most part. When it comes down to the Indians, he lets his rage get to him, especially with that
one scene where he literally shot out the eyes of an already dead Indian. Uncle Ethan commits violence in a less bloody way than John Grady does.
Comparing this with John Grady's encounter with the cuchillero, McCarthy sketches us of a more bloodier altercation. "He ran his tongue into the
corner of his mouth and tasted blood. He knew his face had been cut but he didn't know how bad (200)." From what McCarthy is trying to say
here, it seems as if he is romanticizing the whole myth of the cowboy a little. John Grady tastes blood as if he had tasted it before. He ignores the
fact that his face is cut, not knowing how bad it was. McCarthy presents John Grady as if he is some sort of brave cowboy who fears no blood.
"From the red boutonniere blossoming on the left pocket of his blue work shirt, there spurted a thin fan of bright arterial blood. He dropped to his
knees and pitched forward dead into the arms of his enemy (201)." It starts to get more and more gory as McCarthy is describing the Cuchilleros death

The commercial concludes with the teen speeding off in the Audi, cutting to a shot of an exhilarating shout that is coupled with his newly acquired

are presented to give the character a personality and have the audience identify with this persona. In the article "A Moral Never–Never Land:
Identifying with Tony Soprano," James Harold discusses the relation of audiences with characters on television shows and the sharing of feelings and
emotions between them. Being able to relate to or sympathize with another character will allow us to like them, even though they may be completely

Rheumatoid Arthritis : An Autoimmune Disorder
Name: Rheumatoid Arthritis
Definition: Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic inflammatory disorder, which affects the small joints of hands and feets, and the lining of joints that
causes painful swelling. The swelling can eventually result in bone erosion and joint deformity. It's an autoimmune disorder, in which theimmune
system mistakenly attacks own body 's tissues. Rheumatoid arthritis not only causes a joint problem, but it can also affect other organs of the body
such as the skin, eyes, lungs, and blood vessels.
Etiology:
Occurs when the immune system attacks the synovium (lining of membrane surrounds the joints). The resulting inflammation thickens the synovium,
which can eventually destroy the cartilage and bone within the joint. The tendons and ligaments that hold the joint together weaken and stretch.
Gradually, the joint loses its shape and alignment. While your genes don 't actually cause rheumatoid arthritis, they can make you more susceptible to
environmental factors – such as infection with certain viruses and bacteria – that may trigger the disease. Immune system starting to attacks own body
's tissues mistakenly.
Unknown (some evidence point to the following).
Genetic component.
Environmental exposure:
Age and sex: The incidence of RA is typically two to three times higher in women than men. The onset of RA, in both women and men, is highest

Canicula Snapshots Of A Girlhood El La Faza Analysis
In Norma Cantu's Canicula: Snapshots of a girlhood el la Frontera, she addresses the topic of identity which is examined through the photographs
of her past. In her story, it's about how she grew up between two different countries of the U.S and Mexico. The narrator is searching for who she
is within the two countries, which makes it hard for her to find herself as one culture can criticize the other. In one of the stories, "Mexican Citizen"
the narrator is now faced to identify her identity as she now gets her U.S immigration papers. In these papers we see that the color of her skin listed
is "Blanco", on the other hand, her Mexico documents state that she's "Moreno". This shows two different identities that based just on her color of her
skin. The narrator is able to cross the border occasionally without her parents that she then realizes the conflict of between the two cultures when she
decides to live with Mamagrande in Monterrey. She interacts with her cousins, but they don't seem to get along with her very well since she doesn't
know their way of things "I sing to them silly nursery rhymes and tell them these are great songs: Humpty Dumpty, Jack and Jill, Little Miss Muffet,
Old McDonald. They listen fascinated, awed, but then they laugh when I don't know their games" (Cantu 23). We see that even though she can speak
Spanish, the narrator still has trouble living in Mexico and she then faces problems trying to find her identity when she experiences the conflicts

Laura Koller's Spring Wedding
Spring Wedding
In my senior project, Laura Koller's wedding meant so much for me to be able to be a part of putting my creativity into her wedding. I want Laura to
have the best wedding with the most amazing flowers she choose and to not worry about having the flowers not being the way she wants them to be.
When Laura's wedding caught my attention, I felt honor to be able to be part in the next step in someone's lifetime. In this project, I'll talk about the
history of weddings, the flowers that were used, the creation and the packing up.
The flowers or herbs were used in historical weddings since the beginning of time to show a way of love and well wishes to everyone. The first
use of wedding flowers were the ancient Greeks. The flowers or plants were used to make a crown for the bride to wear and was a gift of nature.
The bridesmaids would have floral decorations which were garlands, bridal bouquets and boutonnieres. Mostly the bridesmaids were to make a
poesies, to make, for each guest to wear as a symbol of saying thanks. Over time, the flowers and their meanings stayed the same but the herbs lost their
place in modern North American weddings. Some of the cultures and religions have intertwine herbs with flowers to celebrate the marriage with a gift
of nature. Leading up to and during the Middle Ages, weddings were considered as a family and community affairs. The only main thing about a
wedding was for both partners to state a consent to take one of them as a spouse.

Michael Centanni is a man who knows what he wants –– in love, life . . . and his wedding reception. "No videotaping, no bouquet toss and no smashing
of cake in the face," he says firmly. And that 's just the beginning. Ever since the day 30–year–old Centanni, a Washington fundraiser, proposed to his
true love, 26–year–old Amy Padoll, a Washington attorney, he 's had his fingers in the production of his wedding day, a black

Peggy Post, of the Emily Post etiquette family, notes that more and more men are attending the bridal shows she hosts around the country, and
they 're showing both sense and sensibility. The reason for the change can easily be traced to economics: Because it costs a bundle to get married,
more grooms and their families are sharing the bill rather than have it all fall on the bride 's family 's shoulders. Coupled with this is the fact that
men are marrying later, so it 's more likely they have jobs that allow them to help pay the costs. These grooms aren 't just pulling out their credit
cards and nodding, "Yes, honey, anything you want," says Post. They 're keeping close tabs on where the money is going. But it 's not all moola that
's driving this. This is a new generation of the sensitive bridegroom, like Centanni, who wants to have a say about the readings and hymns, and who
cares how his family is included in the celebration. It 's also a generation that strives for peer marriage, where husband and wife communicate as equals.
A perfect example, says Post, is that there are more instances of planning a wedding around divorced parents and stepfamilies –– "a challenge that from
the start takes good communication between bride and groom." Then there 's the lighter side. As Centanni sees it: "Why should Amy have all the fun?
Going to the caterer and tasting the food, that 's fun. And every time we go into a store, I have to go into the kitchen section. Amy

"Smile!" the photographer yells. My soon to be step–mom (Jen) wraps her arm around me. I can feel her hand brushing against the soft, smooth
lavender gown that I'm wearing. I lean in closer to Jen causing my hand to sweep against the cold, embroidered beads on her beautiful wedding
dress. Her decorative hairpiece was gracefully placed beside the bun of dark brown hair. Jen's dress and jewelry spoke volumes (Personification).
Again, I make a few adjustments to my dress and flowers to guarantee the photo turns out well. I swiftly brush away a few strands of hair that have
fallen on my face, they had fallen out of my big, brown braid. A smile naturally stretches across my face as the happiness is enough to make even a
sullen person smile.
"Buzzzzzz, Click," the camera groans (Personification). "Woooooo! I can't wait until your dad and I are married... only one more hour. After today,
you, your siblings John and Ali, my kids Paige and Drew, your dad and I will be onefamily! " Jen says exuberantly.
"I know, finally I'll be able to call Paige and Drew my step siblings!" I say joyously. I lower my bright flower bouquet and back away from Jen as
there is a huge line to take pictures with her. I make my way through the large crowd of family that fills up the small, nautical room. Eventually, I find
my way to the window which overlooks the yacht club parking lot and the aisle where the wedding ceremony will be held. As the time nears I see more

There are white of gowns swirling under the golden sunlight; young men and women gliding in gawky circles, mid–aged couples performing their
conservative fox–trots– and pairs of ladies and gentlemen dancing in and out of the crowd gracefully with their sophisticated dance steps. The circle of
dancing crowd bloomed, as it swelled with newcomers smoothly sweeping in. With stiff, impatient steps, Tom Buchanan danced along in the crowd
with Daisy, always half–beat faster than the soft melodious music played by the orchestra. Every time he moved, a great pack of muscle tensed his
polyester suit, indicating the cruel body underneath his cloth – even the feminine red rose boutonniere seemed bloody on him. Daisy clung onto his

Next, a yellow cocktail music bursts as the cheers of people raised up into the air again. The crowd moved more swiftly around the garden, flowing,
dissolving, and merging back into the same form again. The sky slowly turned orange –the sun was heavily sinking into the horizon – and Tom's
boutonniere enhanced its bloodiness and Daisy's white dress dyed in an elegant yellow. As Tom looked over the crowd, all the immaculate white
dresses that were dancing on the grass like fairies were soaked in the sunlight, each one in vivid, but lusterless colours. However, there was a ray of
light that caught Tom's eyes as he overlooked on the people. It was one of the house maids, sweeping the fallen leaves as her pale ring–finger gleamed
a dull reflection of the sunshine. She was a woman with a roundish figure, probably in her early thirties. There were no traces of beauty in her
appearances like Mary Pickford or a fashionable stylishness like Pola Nergi, but there was an immediate vitality that could be percept straightaway,
just like Myrtle. No, exactly like Myrtle, Tom thought. There were no specific similarities between them, but Tom felt like a child who found a

"Yes, mother. I filled the gray box with wintergreen Altoids ten minutes ago," I croon sarcastically while gracefully stomping down the steps in my
bronze high heels. Well, I wouldn't quite call them high heels. I didn't want to tower over my date.
"You look gorgeous," my mom breathes as I approach the last step. Intently searching her eyes, I recognize her sincere love, and my muscles

The Great Gatsby By F. Scott Fitzgerald Essay
The Great Gatsby (2013), directed by Baz Luhrmann, is a contemporary construct of the original novel written by F. Scott Fitzgerald in 1925. The
essence of this film is to portray the "American Dream" as understood in the 1920's. The film (as well as the novel) contains many themes that correlate
to the depiction of the story. The main notable themes that are embodied throughout the motion picture are social class, love, wealth, isolation, and
hope. Nick Carraway, whom the film is focalized, communicates the elements of the setting and main characters. He portrays this through his personal
experience as an outsider to the wealthy world of the 1920's, in which this motion picture takes place. Nick Carraway is a young man who is seeking
the achievement of the "American Dream". The three images that are included depict the main themes of the story as well as illustrate considerable
meaning through cinematography. The movie focuses onJay Gatsby's relationship with Daisy, his wealth, and himself. In image one, the movie's
themes of hope, isolation, and love are represented. Gatsby is standing at the end of his dock in front of his home looking out to the green light that
is shinning from across the water. The green light is outside of Daisy's property. Hope is portrayed through the reaching out of Gatsby's hand. He is
trying to grasp what is on the other side of the water even though he is already aware that his goal is too far away from where he is standing. The

Rheumatoid Arthritis, what is it? The word Rheumatoid comes from the greek word referring to rheumatism, which means any painful disorder from
the joints. Arthritis means inflammation of the joint. (William Collins Sons & Co. Ltd. 1979). Putting these two words together Rheumatoid Arthritis
creates a disorder. The pathophysiology of RA is that it is a chronic, systemic, inflammatory autoimmune disease which means that this disorder is
attacking your own body (Silvestri, 2013, p. 851 ). This usually happens at the joints where two bones meet that create movement of body parts. This
disorder is systemic and usually if it happens one side, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

occur as well. Warmth or swollen joints, limited movement of the joint or immovable joints also known as ankylosis. Skin may be reddened but does
not apply to everyone who has RA (Rosdahl, 2012). Diagnostics to help determine this disorder would first be getting an x–ray done, a (ESR)
erythrocyte sedimentation rate can be done to determine if there is any inflammation and in this case there would be an increase in the (ESR), also
a (RF) rheumatoid factor is performed, this is a blood test to determine how much RF antibody is in the blood which is very helpful to determine if
you have RA or an autoimmune disease, if there is an increase then there is most likely a chance of knowing that you have rheumatoid arthritis
(MedlinePlus, 2013). Some other diagnostics can be a positive latex agglutination test, this test is a method that can be used to determine antibodies or
antigens in a wide rage of bodily fluids such as saliva, urine or blood. They then send these results to the laboratory and mix it with latex beads that are

Formal Is Not A Rite Of Passage
The definition of ritual is: "a patterned, repetitive and symbolic enactment of a cultural belief or value" (Davis–Floyd, as cited in Dubisch, p.279). With
that, I realized had my theme: a Formal. In college the equivalent to a Prom are Formals. Nevertheless, like a Prom, Formals have many cultural
beliefs and values, from tuxedos and dresses to what to eat, and how to dance. Formals are supposed to fun and memorable, and how you and your
date choose to make create those memories. As with all rituals, Formals have traditional preparations and symbols that have true cultural beliefs and
values. In this paper, I will argue that Formals are not only a ritual, but a rite of passage, mostly for the girl, but as a guy you can help make it
memorable by using symbols that have meaning and will make the night unforgettable.
Beliefs and Cultures
Formals, like Prom are part of the American Culture. In fact, it is a cultural ritual because it has intentional symbolic meaning; it is a rite of passage.
From clothing, to music, to who you ask is all part of the social bond of Formals. The biggest, most important part and daunting moment is asking out

changed over the years, Formal and its idea has stayed the same. The events leading up to Formal are just as important as the actual event. That is
something that has never changed, nor should. Every person comes out with a different perspective and experience. Although society norms dictate that
Formals are for the girl, it joins people together and gives us all a chance to bond around certain moments that will forever stand out in our minds.
Therefore, the real value comes in the preparation that happened around the

Marketing Analysis Of Ameritrade, An Investment Consultant
Ameritrade, an investment consultant, has an advertisement out, in a recent issue of Wired, which is comprised of a largely romantic silhouette.
Featured at the top of the page is a scene straight from junior prom: a young man pinning a corsage on his date. Except it is not a corsage. Rather, a
boutonniere with green undertones and made of hands sits centered in the image. It's a bit out of place for a female to be receiving a male prom
accessory and even stranger that this accessory would be made of human hands. This uncomfortable feeling is strengthened through a disconnection
between a young, romantic scene and the purpose of the advertisement, retirement. Ameritrade seeks to break traditional marketing techniques by

Ameritrade is subtly hinting at a financial growth through their services alongside a progression through life. The hard work and dedication to the
professional life is supposed to lead to a life's savings that will allow one to freely enjoy newfound free time and passions in retirement. This,
inevitable, is an expression of the American Dream – wealth earned by the sweat and hard work of the individual. Ameritrade implies it "hand holding"
will allow a consumer to more easily achieve this ideal. Even more fascinating, however, is that Ameritrade seems to reject that the American Dream
has come, nor is it right around the corner. Workers are still encouraged to continue in their job and deposit money in these new "rollover IRAs".
Furthermore, to receive your "free" $600, Ameritrade requires that you are funding your account for at least a "twelve month duration". They are even
quick to note at the bottom that "risk" is involved and success is "not guaranteed". Therefore, while sales may depend on whether the consumer "buys"
into the American Dream, it becomes clear that Ameritrade rejects that such a notion can exist. In contrast, Ameritrade undercuts the advertisement's
allure and connection to customer's by isolating its audience through the perpetuation of a commonly held American

African/American Weddings
When the word 'wedding' comes to mind society tends to immediately think of a man and a woman coming together to be married. Often times the
thought of a church and a white dress is very apparent. Although these things seem to be the constant normality for a wedding, depending on the native
traditions of the family, the wedding may be a little, or a lot, different from this. The many traditions in Africa are shown through the style and various
themes of weddings. Things such as the arrangement, dowry and bride price, colors, ceremony, and attire, are key items different in the relation and
comparison of African and American weddings. Following an unsuccessfulmarriage, Africans and Americans take extremely different routes as a
solution. Depicting the many similarities and differences between the two cultures over time shows how they have developed in response to the
various amounts of change. What is known as 'the arrangement' of the wedding is very different in Africa opposed to the United States. Commonly, the

Corsage History
To start off, thanks to corsages and boutineers, formal events can be made more special. To begin, the corsage significance will be explained first.
Although traditions change, the corsage, still to this day, stands to be worn. It can be seen pinned to ladies' dresses or worn around the wrist at any
formal event (school events, weddings, graduations, etc. )
"Corsage" was originally named after the French word for the bodice of a dress to which it was attached. In ancient times, such as in Greek times, it
was known to be worn to prevent evil spirits. The herbs and flowers were known to prevent anything dangerous or unpleasant from taking place at
weddings or for other important occasions. Before the 1900's corsages were worn on the body (waist up). As the style in this time began to change, so
did the placement of the corsages. They were moved from the body ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Boutonnieres became "a thing" when the King of France arrived in Italy. The people brought him a wreath of violets, which he very happily wore.
Later in the 1940's, flower gardens became popular, initiating floral patterns to be worn on men's clothing. When painters began to portray other
individuals wearing bouquets of flowers on the men's "buttonhole," the country's men also started copying how the drawings were portrayed.
However, as time progressed, just like the corsages changed places and meanings, so did the boutonniere. Around the 1830's the frock coat became
popular, but it wasn't till about two decades later when the "Tweedside" coat came about. Thefashion was similar to a turndown shirt collar with the coat
buttons closed all the way to the top. This resulted in men leaving their top buttons undone. Consequently, the right side of the coat flapped over with
the button facing the clavicle, allowing the left side to sow the boutonniere from the inside. This was how the notched lapel came into existence as it is

The main reason why the white paper was brought in was because the federal government could no longer deny that Canada's Aboriginal peoples were
facing serious socio–economic troubles that the rest of Canadians were not. These issues included higher poverty and infant mortality rates, lower life
expectancy and poorer education levels. Also at this time, the civil rights movement happening in the United States brought an increased level of public
awareness to issues of social justice, and made many Canadians questioning the inequality and discrimination in Canada and how it pertained to First
Nations people. In addition to the 1969 White Paper proposals, other landmark occurrences with Trudeau's relationship to Canadian Aboriginals
included the 1973 Calder case.
With the rise of awareness about social justice issues, the federal government commissioned anthropologist Harry Hawthorn in 1963 from the
University of British Columbia to look into the social injustices faced by Aboriginal people across the country. In his report, Hawthorn discovered that
Aboriginal peoples were incredibly marginalized due to their isolation from the rest of society caused by years of failed federal policies, which
included the residential school system. Due to the abuse and neglect many Aboriginals faced at these residential schools, they were left with emotional
trauma which made them unable to want to contribute to a society which had done nothing but

Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic, systemic autoimmune disease characterized by inflammation of connective tissue in the diarthrodial (synovial)
joints, typically with periods of remission and exacerbation (Lewis, Dirksen, Heitkemper, Bucher, & Camera, 2011). The etiology of rheumatoid
arthritis is unknown. Autoimmunity and genetic factors are believed to be important in the development of RA. Genetic predisposition appears to be
important in the development of RA (Lewis et al., 2011). The strongest evidence for a familial influence is the increased occurrence of a human

Gay Scouts Monologue
As the boutonniГЁre was pinned onto my suit jacket and the velcro corsage straps were carefully latched around my girlfriend's wrist, there was a
sense of finality surrounding the whole Homecoming affair. But this was not me, not my coming–of–age. The awkward freshman with the
polka–dotted tie cinched around his neck, perfectly matching the white dots of his date's black dress, was the Boy Scout, the junior varsity soccer
player who his parents and peers expected him to be. The obligatory dance being our only formal date, I ended the relationship just weeks later ––
because I am gay. Still "closeted" to everyone around me, I feared ostracizing myself and making others uncomfortable or downright disgusted. So
when a girl asked me out to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My parents were struggling after my older sister came out a lesbian before fleeing to college. Seeing how hurt they were, I kept my support for her
secret. I remember one night hearing my mom alone in her room, sobbing and crying to God. She pleaded with Him, begging "why me?" I could not
come out. My first challenge as a semi–openly gay man was precariously holding the rank of Life Scout in my local Boy Scout Troop. While gay
scouts were technically banned from the organization at that time, they would have had to throw me out. There was a movement of scouts who, having
earned the rank of Eagle, mailed back their badge accompanied by a letter stating they would not accept the organization's award until they allowed
both gay scouts and adults. Thus, I was inspired to do the same and reject scouting's highest rank. Ironically enough, I was on the Amtrak train to New
Mexico for my Philmont backpacking trip when the Supreme Court ruled banning gay marriage unconstitutional. The other scouts around me made
horrific jokes about the news, but I remained silent. In some ways I do not think I could have completed the following 100 mile backpacking trip
without the reassurance this validation of my identity

How Does Shakespeare's Use Of Flowers In Hamlet
Throughout history flowers have been used as a form of cryptic communication to convey messages of love and interest which could not be spoken
aloud. Flowers serve as a common gift to any mother or significant other on her birthday and mother's day because of their deep set meaning which
was established hundreds of years ago. The use of flowers to spread a message died years ago however they are still used to share the emotions of the
sender to the receiver. Shakespeare's use of the language of flowers in Hamlet offers insight into Elizabethan culture by providing examples of the
subtextual meaning which was associated with flowers and how the audience comprehended his use if these allusions. Shakespeare's use of the

2001). One flower carried many denotations because they were not set or uniform among all the people. One reason for variance among the
interpretation was because they created this meaning by observing many different cultures including Chinese, Japanese, Middle Eastern, Greek, and
Roman (Loy, S.2001). Each culture carried its own individual traditions, myths, and religions so the meaning behind the plants changed depending on
which country carried the most influence in that particular location. In Turkey during the 1600's the language of flowers had looser interpretations
and was seldom used alone. The name of the flower was followed by a word or poem which rhymed and this added depth to the meaning of the
symbol as a whole (Montagu, M. W. n.d.). The interpretation of floriography was in reality more abstract than history leads the people to believe,
however, this was the first time that flowers held a meaning which could be interpreted in any

Summary Of Cormac Mccarthy's All The Pretty Horses
The end of John Grady Cole's life in Texas spurs a new life in Mexico. At the death of his grandfather's life, all that John Grady has known is taken
away from him. His mother's decision to sell his grandfather's property and his father's willingness to let her do it puts John Grady in a place where
he no longer knows where he stands. Accompanied by his best friend Lacey Rawlins, the two run off to Mexico to create a new life with the horses.
The unexpected company of Jimmy Blevins turns their smooth journey into one that makes sixteen–year–old John Grady Cole into a man. Throughout
All the Pretty Horses, Cormac McCarthy writes John's coming of age transition, or Bildungsroman, as shown by the archetypes and blood motif and
parallel structure.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
John Grady pays for the things he feels passionate for and loves with his blood and those of others. The nights John Grady and Alejandra sleep
together in the dead of the night she draws blood "with her teeth where he held the heel of his hand against her mouth that she not cry out" (142).
The blood he bleeds is the love he holds for her. If they were to be careless and get caught, Alfonsa would surely kick him out of la Purisama and
Don Hector would feel betrayed by the three of them with no warning. When Blevins' reckless actions gives the captain no choice but to punish
him. John Grady and Rawlins do not see Blevins die but they hear where the "pistol shot came from beyond the ebony trees" (178). Blevins's death
allows John Grady to continue his journey instead of having a similar fate. While at the prison John Grady purchases a knife for safety. A fight
nearly kills John Grady as a "red boutonniere blossoming on the left pocket of his blue workshirt there spurted a thin fan of bright arterial blood" (201).
Here he unwillingly pays for the experience of life with his own blood. The price for his life is that of

  • 1. Market for Belle Fleurs Business Description Our business is a flower shop by the name of Belle Fleurs. It is a retail store which means we purchase large quantities of supplies from a major distributor and we sell it in our shop to other customers. We sell a variety of things, some of which include flowers and bouquets of flowers as well as cards. They will be assigned tasks that I may not be able to do. This business would be a new business. We strive to create this business into a successful flower shop. Also, we will post flyers and posters around so that people are able to see our business. • 2. Rheumatoid Arthritis : What Is It? Doreen Griffith MED 2047 VNFT031 Rheumatoid Arthritis Instructor Michelle Earixson–Lamothe 2/6/2015 Rheumatoid Arthritis, what is it? The word Rheumatoid comes from the Greek word referring to rheumatism, which means any painful disorder from the joints. Arthritis means inflammation of the joint. (William Collins Sons & Co. Ltd. 1979). Putting these two words together Rheumatoid Arthritis creates a disorder. The pathophysiology of RA is that it is a chronic, systemic, inflammatory autoimmune disease which means that this disorder is attacking your own body (Silvestri, 2013). Low temperature, fatigue and weakness, elevated sedimentation rate and a positive rheumatoid factor. History of weight loss, anorexia and fever; swan neck deformity and boutonniere deformity and a decreased range of motion (Silvestri, 2013). During an assessment for this type of disorder you can tell if there are any joint deformities such as subluxation also know as dislocation can occur as well. Warmth or swollen joints, limited movement of the joint or immovable joints also known as ankylosis. Skin may be reddened but does not apply to everyone who has RA (Rosdahl, 2012). Some studies have shown that RA has been linked to having cardiovascular disease. Is been shown that most people that are diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis are 3 times more likely to have a heart attack than others due to inflammation in the body affecting all other organs (Crowson, 2013). Diagnostics to help determine this disorder would first be getting an x–ray done, a (ESR) erythrocyte sedimentation rate can be done to determine if there is any inflammation and in this case there would be an increase in the (ESR), also a (RF) rheumatoid factor is performed, this is a blood test to determine how much RF antibody is in the blood which is very helpful to determine if you have RA or an autoimmune disease, if there is an increase then there is most likely a chance of knowing that you have rheumatoid arthritis (MedlinePlus, 2013). From getting ready, making appointment, taking pictures and arriving there was so irritating. I would most definitely do prom over again. Maybe without all the hassles and annoyance I went through to have the experience. I may be more prepared next time. Making appointments for prom was so frustrating. It felt as though I was experiencing my wedding day. Even though I planned everything a month or two ahead of time nothing went as planned. • 5. Same Sex Marriage Should Be Legal Essay Individuals are in complete control of their own happiness, except when it is forbidden by the law. Prior to June 16th, 2015, thirty–seven of the fifty states provided their citizens with the right to marry the opposite sex and thirteen states did not condone this behavior among their citizens. Having equal rights for all people in America has the potential to boost the psychological and spiritual growth of our economy through individual happiness. All people deserve the right to express themselves as individuals, even if that means that they want to be married to someone who is the same gender as them. In September of 2014, two elderly ladies, over the age of ninety, who have been in love for over seven decades, were finally legally allowed to get married. • 6. Plaid In A Country Wedding Plaid might look a little too laidback for some brides and grooms, but there are actually a number of classy and creative ways to fit it into your country wedding–without feeling like you've down–staged the entire day. Add the checkered pattern into your wedding in any of these nine ways. 1. Table Linens This minimalist strategy makes it easy to incorporate plaid in your country wedding. Keep the table setting simple, and eliminate entire table cloths, replacing them with a plaid table runner instead. This look is especially great for long tables where the runner can stretch from end to end. Set plaid napkins on the table, instead of plain crГЁme ones, to add a kitschy yet homey vibe to the dining setting that perfectly encompasses the rustic part of the day. 2. Plates If plaid linens are too loud for you, dress up the plates instead. Look... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Pair the plates with rustic centerpieces, such as pinecones and ferns. The groom can wear a plaid tie in a pattern that complements the suit and bridal bouquet. A pocket square or bow tie are additional swaps he can make, which add a fashionable touch to the outfit. Whether he chooses a tie or a pocket square, the item doesn't have to be a loud pattern. It can be soft and subtle, such as muted greens or blues. If he's feeling really bold though, why not try a plaid suit? You can be sure it's a game changer when compared to traditional wedding tuxedos. 4. The Bride's Dress If the bride's feeling casual, she can wear a full flannel over her dress during the reception. This look gives the gown a relaxed feel. If this look is too relaxed for you though, a thin plaid belt complements the dress, which looks just as lovely without being over the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. An Emotional Connection Made with Audi Commercial Essay Audi, the maker of elite model cars, designed an advertising campaign for the 2013 Super Bowl that claimed driving an Audi would allow the owner to feel more daring. The advertisement opens up with a high school senior boy wearing a tux, with his mother pinning his boutonniere to his jacket. The boy clearly looks unenthused about going to prom because he does not have a date to the prom, which his mother attempts to sooth him by saying that there are many people who go to the prom without dates. His younger sister antagonizes her older brother about not having a date. As the boy is departing his house, his father throws his son the keys to his Audi S6. The son's face brightens and he quickly leaves his house. He is driving fast on these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With this advertisement, the Audi S6 is that object that provides the young man the courage to kiss the prom queen and park in the principal's parking spot. The car provided the young man the sense of security to tackle his inner demons and carry out his desires with no regrets. The Audi instills this sense of sophistication and authority within the young boy and that because he drove an Audi, the opportunity to be brave clearly outweighed the consequences of his defiance, as demonstrated at the end of the commercial as he was driving with a black eye after being beaten up for kissing the prom queen. The "Prom" commercial has a logical appeal. By creating the relatable story of an awkward and dateless young man on his prom night, Audi was able to make an emotional connection with its audience. Their slogan, "Bravery. It's what defines us.", permits a logical appeal that if an Audi can allow that young boy to be brave, than an Audi can evoke that sense of bravery within them as well. If bravery defines a person, and an Audi defines bravery, than the car a person drives defines who that person is. Therefore, the logical claim that Audi is making is that the car a person drives defines them, and by driving an Audi, a person can be seen as classy, brave and sophisticated. In conclusion, Audi is trying to make the argument that owning an Audi is more than owning a car, owning an Audi is an experience that will instill a sense of class, pride and bravery. This ... Homecoming week is among the most memorable times of high school. Students are able step out of their comfort zone; whether that is by dressing in flamboyant costumes, or meeting new people during Edgewood in the Community. No matter which event is your favorite, homecoming week is an enjoyable and memorable time for all. The week starts off with its annual homecoming week mass. As students and faculty gather, the gym feels as if it is bursting at the seams with excitement to finally start the festivities. Seniors involved in powderpuff were so excited to begin the week, that they arrived at school before the sun rose. Shoes were soaked with dew, and shirts were dripping with sweat as the battle for the championship continued. Braids, bows, and bruises can best describe the competitive flag–football league. As the sun slowly filled the sky with its warm rays, students filtered into school wearing their best rodeo–attire. Cowboy boots clunked down the stairs, country music blasted outside of classrooms, and plaid shirts were sported by almost everyone. During lunch mods, students were entertained with sign painting. An overwhelming number of people gathered around a table with art supplies, almost as if they were thirsty animals at a watering hole. Orange, green, purple, and blue paint cascaded over the ... Junior Prom: Ameritrade's Attempt to Break away from Traditional Marketing Ameritrade, an investment consultant, has an advertisement out, in a recent issue of Wired, which is comprised of a largely romantic silhouette. Featured at the top of the page is a scene straight from junior prom: a young man pinning a corsage on his date. Except it is not a corsage. Rather, it is a boutonniere with green undertones and made of hands which sits centered in the image. Interestingly, this green is only used in conjunction with consumer focused representations: the boutonniere offered toward the woman, the prom date's dress, and the tagline which serves as the advertisement's selling point. Ameritrade is subtly hinting at a financial growth through their services alongside a progression through life. The hard work and dedication to the professional life is supposed to lead to a life's savings that will allow one to freely enjoy newfound free time and passions in retirement. This, inevitably, is an expression of the American Dream– wealth earned by the sweat and hard work of the individual. Ameritrade implies its "hand holding" will allow a consumer to more easily achieve this ideal. Even more fascinating, however, is that Ameritrade seems to reject that the American Dream has come, nor is it right around the corner. Workers are still encouraged to continue in their job and deposit money in these new "rollover IRAs". Furthermore, to receive your "free" $600, Ameritrade requires that you are funding your account for at least a "twelve month duration". They are even quick to note at the bottom that "risk" is involved and success is "not guaranteed". Therefore, while sales may depend on whether the consumer "buys" into the American Dream, it becomes clear that Ameritrade rejects that such a notion can exist. • 11. Solving The Highest Level Of An Interest Approach 1. Creating a "felt need" is a saying used to explain the highest level of an interest approach. This term is best explained by a desire to know more. The felt need interest approach forces students to take action, contains a provocative situation, and challenges students to a higher level than the lower level interest approaches. A felt need is successfully created when the students feel personally connected to the lesson to follow (Moore, 2015). 2. In a Principles of AFNR course I plan to use an interest approach that relates to problem solving and critical thinking. I will play the song, "That's the Night the Lights Went out in Georgia." The students will be asked to listen to the song with the instructions of trying to determine the murderer, narrator, and victim. At the end we will compare answers and discuss the importance of paying attention, listening to context clues, and thinking deeper before making certain decisions. I think this will be an effective interest approach because it puts the students into a provocative situation and forces them to make a decision (Moore, 2015). Because most students relate well to music, they will feel a personal connection that will lead them to being interested in the lesson. The second interest approach I plan to use relates the food topic in Principles of AFNR. I will have the students list what they had for breakfast, lunch, dinner. They will then take each food item and write down where they think it came from. I will then ask ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This surprised me because when you think of the immune system you think of your body fighting off the bad cells not the good ones, this brought up the question how does the body mistakenly do that? Another thing I found surprising while doing research is that if its not treated quickly it can cause joint problems, an example I gave in my paper was the Boutonniere deformity which is in the hands and it just sounds and looks painful. Occupational therapists have a lot of different approaches to help patients with Arthritis but they all have a common goal of making the client comfortable and able to go back to tasks of daily living. This is important because not all treatment techniques will be effective to the client and depending on where the arthritis is you can adjust. • 13. My Best Friends Big Day Essay My Best Friends Big Day My best friend, Malory, and I have been best friends for twelve years. Malory was like the sister I never had. We did absolutely everything together; you very rarely spotted one of us without the other tagging along. Sadly, in March of 2014 my best friend was stolen from me. The thief's name was Jordan. He practically swept her off her feet and took off running with her. When you were around them you couple almost feel the love in the room, and when they looked at each other you could see the sparkle in their eyes. On September 7th, 2015 they were on a trip to Fort Lee Virginia. They were out eating dinner and when dessert came out it was a slice of cake and a plate with the words "Will You Marry Me?". Of course she said yes, but that was the day I realized I was going to have to give my best friend away to her better half. I could not believe we were planning a wedding; I could have sworn we were just two little blonde headed goofballs that swore that boys had cooties. It started to sink in the day she picked out her wedding dress. I was unable to go with her when she picked it out, but when I received a picture of her in the dress I cried like a baby. The dress was an off white, floor length lace gown that fit her like a glove. Not only did I cry because she looked beautiful, but because it was one step closer to the big day. Shortly after she picked out her gown she texted me asking if I would be her maid of honor. Even though I pretty much ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Throughout the movie, Uncle Ethan is depicted as some determined cowboy who is willing to do and give anything to get his family back and prove his loyalty to them. He even goes to great lengths to hunt and kill the Indians just to get back what is his. He challenges the romanticized American West a little when it comes to making some decisions you wouldn't see most cowboys doing as he brutally murders the Indians and undeniably shows his racism and hatred towards them. After all, cowboys are meant to represent the great country of America and be our hero and role model to others. The whole idea of violence is described quite differently in both works. In the movie, The Searchers, Uncle Ethan shows a rather special level of violence in which everything he does is rather bloodless and nonviolent, for the most part. When it comes down to the Indians, he lets his rage get to him, especially with that one scene where he literally shot out the eyes of an already dead Indian. Uncle Ethan commits violence in a less bloody way than John Grady does. Comparing this with John Grady's encounter with the cuchillero, McCarthy sketches us of a more bloodier altercation. "He ran his tongue into the corner of his mouth and tasted blood. He knew his face had been cut but he didn't know how bad (200)." From what McCarthy is trying to say here, it seems as if he is romanticizing the whole myth of the cowboy a little. John Grady tastes blood as if he had tasted it before. He ignores the fact that his face is cut, not knowing how bad it was. McCarthy presents John Grady as if he is some sort of brave cowboy who fears no blood. "From the red boutonniere blossoming on the left pocket of his blue work shirt, there spurted a thin fan of bright arterial blood. He dropped to his knees and pitched forward dead into the arms of his enemy (201)." It starts to get more and more gory as McCarthy is describing the Cuchilleros death ... • 16. Rheumatoid Arthritis : An Autoimmune Disorder Name: Rheumatoid Arthritis Definition: Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic inflammatory disorder, which affects the small joints of hands and feets, and the lining of joints that causes painful swelling. The swelling can eventually result in bone erosion and joint deformity. It's an autoimmune disorder, in which theimmune system mistakenly attacks own body 's tissues. Rheumatoid arthritis not only causes a joint problem, but it can also affect other organs of the body such as the skin, eyes, lungs, and blood vessels. Etiology: Occurs when the immune system attacks the synovium (lining of membrane surrounds the joints). The resulting inflammation thickens the synovium, which can eventually destroy the cartilage and bone within the joint. The tendons and ligaments that hold the joint together weaken and stretch. Gradually, the joint loses its shape and alignment. While your genes don 't actually cause rheumatoid arthritis, they can make you more susceptible to environmental factors – such as infection with certain viruses and bacteria – that may trigger the disease. Immune system starting to attacks own body 's tissues mistakenly. Unknown (some evidence point to the following). Genetic component. When Laura's wedding caught my attention, I felt honor to be able to be part in the next step in someone's lifetime. In this project, I'll talk about the history of weddings, the flowers that were used, the creation and the packing up. The flowers or herbs were used in historical weddings since the beginning of time to show a way of love and well wishes to everyone. The first use of wedding flowers were the ancient Greeks. The flowers or plants were used to make a crown for the bride to wear and was a gift of nature. The bridesmaids would have floral decorations which were garlands, bridal bouquets and boutonnieres. Mostly the bridesmaids were to make a poesies, to make, for each guest to wear as a symbol of saying thanks. Over time, the flowers and their meanings stayed the same but the herbs lost their place in modern North American weddings. Some of the cultures and religions have intertwine herbs with flowers to celebrate the marriage with a gift of nature. Leading up to and during the Middle Ages, weddings were considered as a family and community affairs. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Peggy Post, of the Emily Post etiquette family, notes that more and more men are attending the bridal shows she hosts around the country, and they 're showing both sense and sensibility. The reason for the change can easily be traced to economics: Because it costs a bundle to get married, more grooms and their families are sharing the bill rather than have it all fall on the bride 's family 's shoulders. Coupled with this is the fact that men are marrying later, so it 's more likely they have jobs that allow them to help pay the costs. These grooms aren 't just pulling out their credit cards and nodding, "Yes, honey, anything you want," says Post. They 're keeping close tabs on where the money is going. But it 's not all moola that 's driving this. This is a new generation of the sensitive bridegroom, like Centanni, who wants to have a say about the readings and hymns, and who cares how his family is included in the celebration. It 's also a generation that strives for peer marriage, where husband and wife communicate as equals. A perfect example, says Post, is that there are more instances of planning a wedding around divorced parents and stepfamilies –– "a challenge that from the start takes good communication between bride and groom." With stiff, impatient steps, Tom Buchanan danced along in the crowd with Daisy, always half–beat faster than the soft melodious music played by the orchestra. Every time he moved, a great pack of muscle tensed his polyester suit, indicating the cruel body underneath his cloth – even the feminine red rose boutonniere seemed bloody on him. As Tom looked over the crowd, all the immaculate white dresses that were dancing on the grass like fairies were soaked in the sunlight, each one in vivid, but lusterless colours. However, there was a ray of light that caught Tom's eyes as he overlooked on the people. It was one of the house maids, sweeping the fallen leaves as her pale ring–finger gleamed a dull reflection of the sunshine. She was a woman with a roundish figure, probably in her early thirties. There were no traces of beauty in her appearances like Mary Pickford or a fashionable stylishness like Pola Nergi, but there was an immediate vitality that could be percept straightaway, just like Myrtle. No, exactly like Myrtle, Tom thought. There were no specific similarities between them, but Tom felt like a child who found a puzzle piece that he's been looking for ages, or perhaps a fragment of a story from his favorite child ... The essence of this film is to portray the "American Dream" as understood in the 1920's. The film (as well as the novel) contains many themes that correlate to the depiction of the story. The main notable themes that are embodied throughout the motion picture are social class, love, wealth, isolation, and hope. Nick Carraway, whom the film is focalized, communicates the elements of the setting and main characters. He portrays this through his personal experience as an outsider to the wealthy world of the 1920's, in which this motion picture takes place. The word Rheumatoid comes from the greek word referring to rheumatism, which means any painful disorder from the joints. Arthritis means inflammation of the joint. (William Collins Sons & Co. With that, I realized had my theme: a Formal. In college the equivalent to a Prom are Formals. Nevertheless, like a Prom, Formals have many cultural beliefs and values, from tuxedos and dresses to what to eat, and how to dance. Formals are supposed to fun and memorable, and how you and your date choose to make create those memories. As with all rituals, Formals have traditional preparations and symbols that have true cultural beliefs and values. Although traditions change, the corsage, still to this day, stands to be worn. It can be seen pinned to ladies' dresses or worn around the wrist at any formal event (school events, weddings, graduations, etc. ) "Corsage" was originally named after the French word for the bodice of a dress to which it was attached. In ancient times, such as in Greek times, it was known to be worn to prevent evil spirits. The herbs and flowers were known to prevent anything dangerous or unpleasant from taking place at weddings or for other important occasions. When painters began to portray other individuals wearing bouquets of flowers on the men's "buttonhole," the country's men also started copying how the drawings were portrayed. However, as time progressed, just like the corsages changed places and meanings, so did the boutonniere. Around the 1830's the frock coat became popular, but it wasn't till about two decades later when the "Tweedside" coat came about. Thefashion was similar to a turndown shirt collar with the coat buttons closed all the way to the top. This resulted in men leaving their top buttons undone.
