Branding
Branding is an important step in setting up a business. This is the basis by which future clients and current clients will recognize the work of a
particular photographer. This is not simply a logo and design layout this is the way the business is perceived, the very “personality” of the busi-
ness (Vertz). Branding is an area of a business that needs to be thoroughly thought through so that the brand is consistent with all aspects of the
business from the logo to marketing materials and everything in between.
All business decisions need to be done with the branding in mind so that the personality of the business stays consistent. The design of the
logo should fit in with the branding of the business and even if the logo gets old, customers will recognize the brand identity of a company, so
change should only be done in dire circumstances.
Brand identity is a part of the owners personality, so it is best to focus on talents and strengths of the owner in order to have a strong and suc-
cessful brand identity.
Hiring a designer to help create the brand identity is a very beneficial use of money. This way the business owner gets what they want the first
time around.
There are questions that need to be asked before deciding on a final branding identity.
What is the specific niche that the business will be specializing in?
What is the particular style of the photographer?
How will the business be promoted?
What services and products will be offered (Locurto)?

Landscape Photography
I have always loved nature. I love to hike and camp and to see all the different areas that the earth has to offer. I think that all landscape
is unique and beautiful in its own individual way and I have found that no two places are exactly alike. The dessert, with its sand and
rocks and prickly cactus is just as inspiring as the forests of the mountains.
I specialize in portraying the landscape in all of its unique diversity and bring that unique diversity to my customers so that they too
can fall in love with the land.
Landscape photography gives me the ability to not only do the things that I love, such as hiking and camping, but to be able to travel to
these different places so that I may document the beauty for others to admire.
My landscape photography offers a unique avenue into the worlds, that not all may go but can experience through my photography. I
strive to capture the vivid colors and textures that are unique to each different area in the hopes that those who view my work will too
fall in love with nature and be inspired to preserve and nurture these spectacular places.
Tom Murphy, a wildlife and landscape photographer in Livingston Montana is a huge inspiration to my photography and me. He spe-
cializes in Yellowstone National Park and he captures the essence of nature photography by being patient and waiting for the animals
to come to him and to capture the ruggedness of the park.

This image is by Jack Booth and I love
the detail and colors as well as the clari-
ty of the relection in the water. This
photograph evokes feelings of peace
and tranquility largely due to the loca-
tion. The mountains have always been
my second home and have great mean-

Wildlife Photography
Wildlife photography has long been a passion of mine. I love to go out in search of any critter that I can find or to wait and let them
find me, it is the ultimate game of hide and seek. I love to be able to watch animals in their natural habitats doing what they do best.
Wildlife photography is challenging and rewarding but takes an inordinate amount of patience on the photographers part to sit and
wait for days on end for the animal to finally find its way across my path. This is a very peaceful process for me, as I love to be out-
doors in beautiful areas while I wait. Traveling to other places also allows me to see other cultures and to help with awareness issues in
far away places.
This type of photography is not without its dangers and should never be taken lightly; both the animal as well as the photographer’s
lives can be in danger. There should always be a healthy respect for the animals being photographed and getting the perfect photo-
graph is no excuse for endangering self or the animal.
Because the natural habitats are diminishing, due to human overpopulation, it is harder and harder for these animals to survive. Wild-
life photography helps to gain awareness of these animals plight and to hopefully, one day, preserve their habitats as well as spark
interest in preserving the animals that live in these places so that future generations may also enjoy these majestic beasts.

Products
Landscape and Wildlife Photography is a very competitive market and can be hard to break into a regular and steady work through
magazines as a full time photographer or as a freelance photographer. A great way to earn other income is to produce products that
clients can buy on line.
Calendars are always a popular item and are rather inexpensive to make and sell. This offers a cheaper way for a client to own work
that they may not be able to purchase otherwise. This is something that most people use and are also great gifts.
Mugs have become a very popular item to place photographs on and also make great gifts.
Decorative mouse pads offer a something more for the clients to look at while at work.
Many sites such as redbubble and smugmug, which are free to users offer a platform to sell works and will do all the printing and send-
ing of the items for a fee. There are also sites that cost to sell works on but the fee is very minimal.
Photography tours and guides have also become popular as more and more people are able to explore the world of photography but
don’t necessarily want to make it a career but would like to explore how to produce better photographs for themselves. This is a fun
way to meet new clients as well as get information out about wildlife and land issues.
Products are also a great may to market a photographer and allow more people to see what they do and possible hire them.

Landscape and Wildlife Photography is a very competitive market and can be hard to break into a regular and steady work through magazines
as a full time photographer or as a freelance photographer. A great way to earn other income is to produce products that clients can buy on line.
Calendars are always a popular item and are rather inexpensive to make and sell. This offers a cheaper way for a client to own work that they
may not be able to purchase otherwise. This is something that most people use and are also great gifts.
Mugs have become a very popular item to place photographs on and also make great gifts.
Decorative mouse pads offer a something more for the clients to look at while at work.
Many sites such as redbubble and smugmug, which are free to users offer a platform to sell works and will do all the printing and sending of the

Landscape Photography
I have always loved nature. I love to hike and camp and to see all the different areas that
the earth has to offer. I think that all landscape is unique and beautiful in its own individu-
al way and I have found that no two places are exactly alike. The dessert, with its sand and
rocks and prickly cactus is just as inspiring as the forests of the mountains.
I specialize in portraying the landscape in all of its unique diversity and bring that unique
diversity to my customers so that they too can fall in love with the land.
Landscape photography gives me the ability to not only do the things that I love, such as
hiking and camping, but to be able to travel to these different places so that I may docu-
ment the beauty for others to admire.
My landscape photography offers a unique avenue into the worlds, that not all may go but
can experience through my photography. I strive to capture the vivid colors and textures
that are unique to each different area in the hopes that those who view my work will too
fall in love with nature and be inspired to preserve and nurture these spectacular places.
Tom Murphy, a wildlife and landscape photographer in Livingston Montana is a huge
inspiration to my photography and me. He specializes in Yellowstone National Park and he
captures the essence of nature photography by being patient and waiting for the animals to
come to him and to capture the ruggedness of the park.

Smug Mug is a website that offers templates to show artists works as well as sell them online. The downside to the website is you must
pay for the site, however they have 4 different plans ranging in cost from $5 to $35 and offer tips and tools to help market your work.
The prices are set by the website and not the artist. The site offers image protection, 50MB storage at 1080 pixels per image and offers
backup storage vault for images. I have just recently joined this site and the main reason for joining was to have another place to sell my
work as well as be able to store images as another back up plan.
Facebook is a social media site that millions of people use everyday. Most sites like Smug Mug and Redbubble have the ability to con-
nect to Facebook and show new posts in the sites so that others can click and be taken to the site. Facebook also allows businesses to
build their own website for free. The downside to Facebook is that anyone can download your images that are friends on your page. I
had started making a website but until I can igure out how to keep others from downloading my work I have placed this on hold.
Word Press Blog has been around for a long time and has a large community base and costs nothing to build your site. There are over
155 themes in which to choose from. Images can be added and this site connects to Facebook, twitter, linked in as well as having a mo-
bile application. The author can download all information on their site if they chose to leave the site.

  • 3. Nickie Taylor Photography Idea Book Branding Branding is an important step in setting up a business. This is the basis by which future clients and current clients will recognize the work of a particular photographer. This is not simply a logo and design layout this is the way the business is perceived, the very “personality” of the busi- ness (Vertz). Branding is an area of a business that needs to be thoroughly thought through so that the brand is consistent with all aspects of the business from the logo to marketing materials and everything in between. All business decisions need to be done with the branding in mind so that the personality of the business stays consistent. The design of the logo should fit in with the branding of the business and even if the logo gets old, customers will recognize the brand identity of a company, so change should only be done in dire circumstances. Brand identity is a part of the owners personality, so it is best to focus on talents and strengths of the owner in order to have a strong and suc- cessful brand identity. Hiring a designer to help create the brand identity is a very beneficial use of money. This way the business owner gets what they want the first time around. There are questions that need to be asked before deciding on a final branding identity. What is the specific niche that the business will be specializing in? What is the particular style of the photographer? How will the business be promoted? What services and products will be offered (Locurto)? Nickie Taylor Photography Idea Book Landscape Photography I have always loved nature. I love to hike and camp and to see all the different areas that the earth has to offer. I think that all landscape is unique and beautiful in its own individual way and I have found that no two places are exactly alike. The dessert, with its sand and rocks and prickly cactus is just as inspiring as the forests of the mountains. I specialize in portraying the landscape in all of its unique diversity and bring that unique diversity to my customers so that they too can fall in love with the land. Landscape photography gives me the ability to not only do the things that I love, such as hiking and camping, but to be able to travel to these different places so that I may document the beauty for others to admire. My landscape photography offers a unique avenue into the worlds, that not all may go but can experience through my photography. I strive to capture the vivid colors and textures that are unique to each different area in the hopes that those who view my work will too fall in love with nature and be inspired to preserve and nurture these spectacular places. Tom Murphy, a wildlife and landscape photographer in Livingston Montana is a huge inspiration to my photography and me. He spe- cializes in Yellowstone National Park and he captures the essence of nature photography by being patient and waiting for the animals to come to him and to capture the ruggedness of the park.

The image is of artist point falls in Yellowstone National Park and is a beautiful view of the sweeping landscape that I love. The different textures and depth of field, work to give a breath taking view of landscape.

I love this image because it evokes strong emotion and because of the details and colors in the photograph. Nickie Taylor Photography Idea Book Landscape Photography This image is by Jack Booth and I love the detail and colors as well as the clari- ty of the relection in the water. This photograph evokes feelings of peace and tranquility largely due to the loca- tion. The mountains have always been my second home and have great mean- ing for me.
  • 8. Nickie Taylor Photography Idea Book Wildlife Photography Wildlife photography has long been a passion of mine. I love to go out in search of any critter that I can find or to wait and let them find me, it is the ultimate game of hide and seek. I love to be able to watch animals in their natural habitats doing what they do best. Wildlife photography is challenging and rewarding but takes an inordinate amount of patience on the photographers part to sit and wait for days on end for the animal to finally find its way across my path. This is a very peaceful process for me, as I love to be out- doors in beautiful areas while I wait. Traveling to other places also allows me to see other cultures and to help with awareness issues in far away places. This type of photography is not without its dangers and should never be taken lightly; both the animal as well as the photographer’s lives can be in danger. There should always be a healthy respect for the animals being photographed and getting the perfect photo- graph is no excuse for endangering self or the animal. Because the natural habitats are diminishing, due to human overpopulation, it is harder and harder for these animals to survive. Wild- life photography helps to gain awareness of these animals plight and to hopefully, one day, preserve their habitats as well as spark interest in preserving the animals that live in these places so that future generations may also enjoy these majestic beasts.

Nickie Taylor Photography Idea Book Landscape Photography I have always loved nature. I love to hike and camp and to see all the different areas that the earth has to offer. I think that all landscape is unique and beautiful in its own individu- al way and I have found that no two places are exactly alike. The dessert, with its sand and rocks and prickly cactus is just as inspiring as the forests of the mountains. I specialize in portraying the landscape in all of its unique diversity and bring that unique diversity to my customers so that they too can fall in love with the land. Landscape photography gives me the ability to not only do the things that I love, such as hiking and camping, but to be able to travel to these different places so that I may docu- ment the beauty for others to admire. He specializes in Yellowstone National Park and he captures the essence of nature photography by being patient and waiting for the animals to come to him and to capture the ruggedness of the park. Nickie Taylor Photography Idea Book Locations There are many locations that I wish to visit in order to shoot both landscapes and wildlife. Locations that I have shot in the past have Yellowstone National Park where they have a myriad of animals such as black bear, grizzly bears, wolves, beavers, moose, elk, bald eagles, deer and a wealth of other animals as well as stunning landscapes from other worldly landscapes of mammoth hot springs to majestic waterfalls. The Grand Tetons abut Yellowstone National Park and also harbor many animals and a stunning view of the larger than life mountains of the Tetons. Flaming Gorge is on the border of Utah and Wyoming and houses a beautiful lake that is surrounded by mountains. Arches National Park is located in Utah and houses wondrous rock formations that defy gravity.Yosemite National Park is on my list to see, this park is located in central California. Yosemite is best known for its waterfalls but the diversity of the land will ensure that all types of landscapes will be found in this wonderful park. Sequoia and Kings Canyon home to the largest redwood trees. Glacier National Park in the northern portion of Montana, which offers only one road in and out of the park, and the majority of the park cannot be reached by car but must be traveled on foot or by boat. Alaska is home to what some would call the last wild frontier and is the dream trip of a lifetime for me. This whole state is some place that I wish to take a year or more in order to explore the vast rugged land.

A great way to earn other income is to produce products that clients can buy on line. Calendars are always a popular item and are rather inexpensive to make and sell. This offers a cheaper way for a client to own work that they may not be able to purchase otherwise. This is something that most people use and are also great gifts. Mugs have become a very popular item to place photographs on and also make great gifts. Decorative mouse pads offer a something more for the clients to look at while at work. Many sites such as redbubble and smugmug, which are free to users offer a platform to sell works and will do all the printing and send- ing of the items for a fee. I had started making a website but until I can figure out how to keep others from downloading my work I have placed this on hold. Word Press Blog has been around for a long time and has a large community base and costs nothing to build your site. There are over 155 themes in which to choose from.
