2. MACRA
101
MACRA is the tidal wave that hit the medical
community. Yet many physicians and health care
providers don?t understand how beneficial or
devastating this can be for their business.
The new MACRA system is shrouded in secrecy, mainly
because it is so different and new. Most health care
providers don?t know what to expect. It has proven to
be both complicated and overwhelming to most people
in the health care industry.
MACRA fundamentally changes the ways that doctors
and other eligible clinicians conduct business and are
paid. MACRA is aimed at improving patient care,
standardizing costs, reducing billable care by doctors
and better linking financial reward to care quality and
3. 2017
Under MACRA, there are two different tracks that
physicians will fall under: Merit-Based Incentive
Payment System (MIPS) and Alternative Payment
Models (APM). 2017 begins the reporting period for
these payment systems.
2018
This is the biggest year of concern. CMShas been
lenient to this point but if history repeats itself, the
hammer of regulation will come down hard. Stats will
rise and get harder. Make sure you make your mark in
2017 before this!
2019
In 2019, physicians will be paid under the new system.
However, the 2017 reporting is thought to determine
what the threshold and benchmark targets for future
care quality and costs will be.

Who am I and why should you listen to me?
I received my Masters in health care administration
and promptly began to work with doctors in my area.
I learned the ins and outs of their business. For
physicians here in New York, I single handedly trail
blazed for them to receive an additional $250,000+
in incentive money for their Medicare Advantage
plans. I did this by finding an untapped source. This
was pre-MACRA, and it did not require them to do any
extra work.
I developed a vision and intuition that I used to
help greatly improve the finances of the doctors I
worked with. When I saw MACRA coming, I knew
there was a huge opportunity for all physicians and
eligible clinicians to make more money than they
ever dreamed possible. I would be lying if I said I
didn?t also see the danger in MACRA. The reality is
that many physicians will lose their practices because
they are not creative enough with their MACRA
reporting. and restructuring.
MACRA is not just about reporting 4 categories; it
is about creatively reporting so you get the maximum
amount of bonus money. It is about creating
partnerships you would never think about that will
have CMS handing you money. My goal is to help
MACRA physicians earn more than they ever thought
possible. I have 2 qualifications: You have to be 1.
ready and 2. willing to make MACRA work for you, not
against you. If that?s you, let?s talk.
