Research Paper On Running Offense
Last night in Chillicothe at the Obadiah Harris Family Athletic Complex, Wheelersburg and the
explosive offense did battle with Middletown Madison and its high octane one–dimensional running
offense. I do not think many felt this game would turn into the defensive struggle it turned out to be,
but that is what happened and this was a dogfight all game lone.
In the first half I had Madison unofficially having the ball six times, running 34 plays and gaining
65–yards. For the Pirates they had the ball five times, running 27 plays, gaining 25 yards, including
13 passes. Neither team could get any momentum going and a lo t of that was because of penalties.
In the second have unofficially I had Madison running 28 plays, gaining 12 yards, ... Show more

With 3:14 left Salyers would be stopped for a four–yard loss, when he was tackled by Pelgen once
again. Then with 2:34 left Salyers would be picked off by Whiteman. Whiteman looks really good
on the defensive side of the ball and he runs the Madison offense very well.
With 18.9 seconds left Whiteman was stopped after gaining just one–yard by Sylas Akers, putting
Madison into a 2nd and goal from the Pirates 5–yard–line. From there the Mohawks quarterback,
Mason Whiteman plowed in from a yard out to make this a 6–0 game. The point after kick was hit
by #21 (Not on the maxpreps roster) to make this a 7–0 game, with :4 seconds left in the half.
Just :50 seconds into the third quarter Salyers had his pass tipped and then picked off by #20(Not on
the max preps roster) giving the Mohawks a first and goal at the Pirates 7–yard–line. The pirates
defense would hold the Mohawks to minus 4–yards on the first three plays of the drive, forcing a
field goal try from #21, that was good to make this a 10–o Mohawk lead, with 9:33 left on the clock.
The Pirates would turn the ball over again, with 8:44 left on the clock when Case Dyer was fighting
for extra yards, fumbled the ball and making the recovery for Madison was #30(Not on the max
preps roster)
With 8:30 left in the quarter Whiteman would be brought down by CJ Hall , for a 2–yard loss and
then with 7:23 left Whiteman would throw the ball right to the

We Play For 66 Short Story
We Play for 66
It only took a few minutes for a town to turn upside down, but it only took one game for the town to
come together. The whole team made it to our early Saturday morning practice. Everything went
smooth, everyone was joking and having fun. When we broke the huddle to leave practice nobody
knew that something terrible was bound to happen that night. Taylor was working on his family's
ranch, he was the hardest worker on that ranch. Well he and one of their hired hands went to unload
a grain bin. Some grain was stuck on the corners of the bin so they tried banging the outside of the
bin with a hammer. That did not work so Taylor hopped in, while he was in there, the grain had a
crust layer on top. That layer broke and Taylor fell in, the grain and dust covered him head to toe.
The hired hand hopped in to try to save him, but he couldn't get him out, so he hopped in a nearby
tractor and knocked the bin over. They cut the side of the bin open and got Taylor out. ... Show more

He was in a coma for a few days, and nobody knew if he was going to pull out of it. Monday after
practice some of the guys drove to Sioux Falls to see him and he did not look to good, but he was
breathing and that gave him Hope. Tuesday morning the football team was called out of class and
was told to go to the locker room. When we entered all the coaches were there and they told us to
have a seat. Coach Aaker proceeded to tell us that he had passed away late last night. Everyone was
in shock and just sat there. Coach tried to talk but he battled tears. He told us we didn't have to play
the next game, but we decided Taylor would have wanted us to continue to play, and he would have

Frank Wedekind's Spring Awakening
Spring Awakening by Frank Wedekind pushed many envelopes when it was first performed in 1906.
The play, which is set in pre–World War I Germany in 1890, touched on many controversial topics
such as teen sexuality, abuse, rape, homosexuality, suicide, and abortion. Wedekind's blunt and
dramatic use of the caseara in the dialog between characters and in Mortiz's soliloquy in the
resolution as well as the use of expressionism helps further enhance the overall theme of the play.
Wedekind shows this in a series of short, frantic scenes that unraveled what lies beneath the surface
of the regimented German society at the start of the 20th century and discusses topics that no one
wanted to address on a global scale.

The town's pastor lacks sympathy for Mortz's internal downfall. It can be argued that Melchior is the
most positive character in the play. Despite the fact he is an atheist and openly struggles with
religious belief, he is one of the positive characters although some of his actions counteract this
statement. Wedekind shows the views of christianity by showing Moritz, having committed suicide,
not being able to go to heaven, or even to rest. When Melchoir goes to the grave to see Mortz and
discovers Wendela's grave, the ghost of Mortz visits Melchoir alongside a man in a mask who stays
unnamed at that time and asked him to come join him on the other side. He reassures Melchoir that
joining him is a good idea because it provides "a piece of mind, a contentedness..."(79). Melchior
however does not listen to Mortz and accepts his sins. This choice reaffirm his title as one of the
more positive characters in the play. Him acknowledging his faults and understanding his need for
punishment makes it possible to forgive and understand Melchoir as an

Susan Glaspell's Trifles And A Jury Of Her Peers
The play, Trifles, is about Mrs. Wright's murder, while Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peters figure out the
reasoning and who committed the crime. The short story, "A Jury of Her Peers" is the same story but
retold in a different fashion. This change in storytelling creates changes to the story by using
thoughts and narration more often than only using conversation and action. The changes between
Susan Glaspell's Trifles and "A Jury of Her Peers" are shown by the changes in the opening, the
characterization, and the descriptions of the stories.
To begin, the opening of the short story differs a lot from the play. The location in the opening is
different between the play and the short story. In Trifles, the scene is set in "the now abandoned

The house had a few minor details that were different between the play and the short story. The play
describes the house as being a lonely place. There are descriptions of the items in the kitchen and the
display of things that are left out. The short story gives some more details to describe the house. The
house has more descriptions of how it is lonely. There is more emphasis on it being at the end of a
lonely road with lonesome trees in the yard. The actions and thoughts are portrayed differently
between the short story and the play. In Trifles, actions are used commonly, because speech and
actions are the only ways to portray something. Thoughts are only able to be shown through a
character's dialogue or actions. Which goes into the descriptions given while trying to hide the
canary. The actions are quick and are used to show how Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peters are thinking. The
actions and thoughts are represented differently throughout "A Jury of Her Peers". There are many
details throughout the story that would be difficult to portray in actions, therefore these thoughts are
unique to the short story. Using thoughts in the story allows Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peters emotions to

Susan Glaspell's A Jury Of Her Peers
In 1917, Susan Glaspell rewrote her 1916 Play, "Trifles," into a short story called "A Jury of her
Peers." They both depict a group of townspeople investigating the murder of Mr. Wright. It is
suspected that Mrs. Minnie Wright, his wife, is the murderer. As the story goes on, the women in the
group figure out she committed the murder but decide to hide evidence to keep her from being
convicted. Susan Glaspell wrote a short story titled "A Jury of her Peers" mirroring a previous play
that she had written titled "Trifles." There are slight changes and variations between these two that
make them surprisingly different. By comparing the characters point of view, the way the story is
introduced, and the plot we can point out key differences between ... Show more content on

The titles of the two help set up the point of view that particular story is going to be told in. The
story named "A Jury of Her Peers" was named that because Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peters, her peers,
basically decided the fate of Minnie. They both decided not to turn in the evidence and, in doing so,
more than likely kept her out of prison. The term "jury" used in the title is appropriate because the
whole story is depicting a group of townspeople who are investigating the murder scene to decide
her fate. Typically, a group of people deciding someone's fate is called a jury. In the play, "Trifles,"
Mr. Hale states that women are constantly "worrying over trifles" (Glaspell 561). Yet, these are the
same trifles that if the men paid attention to they would be able to get plenty of evidence against
Minnie. The introductions to the stories are also very different, in the story it starts way before they
get to Mrs. Wrights house. It actually starts at Mr. and Mrs. Hales house as the sheriff's buggy stops
to pick them up. This allows us to get a feel for the relationships between each of the characters. It
also allows us to understand why the women are there in the first place, the sheriffs wife, Mrs.
Peters, is there to get some of Mrs. Wrights things for her, and Mrs. Hale is there simply to keep
Mrs. Peters company. It states, "and then the sheriff came running in to say his wife wished Mrs.
Hale would come too––– adding, with a grin, that he guessed she was getting scarey and wanted
another woman along"(Glaspell 568). The story also gives a very descriptive view of the Mrs.
Wrights home, and namely her kitchen. This differs greatly from the play in the fact that the only
description of the setting that we get in the beginning of the play is a short scene description before
the character dialogue starts. There is no information to connect the characters in the

Family Values In Fences
Fences August Wilson's Fences is a play about Troy Maxson, and how his values influence his
family's. The play takes place in 1950's Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Troy Maxson is a black, middle
aged man working for a garbage company. Each member of the Maxson family has a special
relationship with Troy, that affects their behavior throughout the play. In life you learn the most
from your parents. They teach you how to walk, speak, and respect one another. Your parents also
give you a set of values for life. As you grow up as your own individual, your values will change
from your parents. There will be things that are much more important to you, and not as important to
them. In the play Fences Troy Maxson has a very strong set of values that he believes are true in
how you should live life. Troy imposes these values on everyone in his family to the best of his
ability. Each character in Fences is at a different stage in their life, so Troy can't push his values onto
characters that already have their own beliefs. The character that Troy has the most influence on in
the play is Cory. Troy is in Cory's life throughout his childhood, and as his father Cory must respect
Troy. Troy is very firm with Cory, because he wants Cory to be successful. Cory has a dream of
becoming a football player, and this does not follow Troy's values. Troy influences Cory so much
that Cory will always be like Troy whether he realizes it or not. "Your daddy wanted you to be

Becoming A Soccer Player
The majority of the people in this world think that it doesn't take tons to play soccer. "Certain soccer
players are blessed with natural ability, but even that doesn't guarantee soccer success." (Grahame).
In order to become an excellent soccer player, you need to work on skills such as passing, shooting,
touch, communication, attitude, along with fitness. Soccer can be an actual tough sport to play, if
soccer players aren't organized appropriate well with the ball it makes the sport very tough along
with not having fun. Also, players need to have a love for the game that keeps them motivated when
things aren't going their way. "You don't need to be the most skillful or stylish player on the field to
succeed in the game." (Grahame). Thus, it may look undoubtedly awesome when certain soccer
players do their sumptuous skill moves, it really isn't necessary, you mainly just need the ability to
play. Having different abilities as well as skills is mainly all it takes to be a soccer ... Show more

In order to help teammates, you need to be able to talk to them, communication plays a big role in
soccer. If a teammate is getting pressured by somebody while they have the ball, and they don't
know, it is your responsibility to help them, and let them know that someone is pressuring them. The
more a person talks in a game, the better it is, it allows the player with the ball know that you are an
option for him if he doesn't know what to do. Helping teammates out in soccer so tremendously
useful. "Good communication habits can make the difference between a good team and a great one."
("How to Communicate..."). When a teammate yells a lot, usually may sound crucial, but all in all,
he's most likely helping out others. It's very useful to talk to a player as soon as the ball is delivered
to him, because if not, the pass could be poorly given and the player would get it stolen from him
without knowing a person was

Section A: the role of the practitioner in providing play and learning opportunities.
E1– Collate evidence which describes the role of the practitioner in meeting children's learning

Case study 1 – Mark – a 2 year old boy
The EYFS states that Mark should be developing at certain level for his age and stage. Marks
personal, social and emotional development as a unique child, should be that he is interested in
others play and starts to join in. As Marks key person I will support him to become confident in
interacting with other children and other adults. It is my role to make sure Mark is developing and

Samantha needs to ensure she concentrates on Jacks positive behaviour instead of reacting to his
negative. Jacks needs are not being met and this is why Jack is behaving like this. Jack if requiring
his mums attention at any opportunity that he gets. This is because he does not see his mum that
much as she works all week and all day. Jacks mum could encourage his child–minder to enforce
positive behaviour with Jack and to do the reward system at the child–minders as well as at home.
This would help Jack not to get confused with being able to behave differently in different
environments. As a practitioners I would first suggest to reward system with Jack I would also
recommend taking part in calm activities when he arrives home from the child–minders such a
puzzles and books to keep Jack calm before going to bed.
A1 – Include a reflective account of the role of the practitioner in supporting the learning needs of
children.
In the childcare setting I supported a child's learning need by helping them to bond and
communicate with other children and other members of staff. This child became particularly
attached to one member of safe and it was becoming unhealthy. Sometime it would be to the point
where is the member of staff left the room the child would stand at the door and cry until they came
back. I supported this child by distracting the child with toys and activities that they liked. I built a
good bond and relationship with the child which

How Does The Environment Promote Children's Development
Well the environment is recognised in the EYFS. Enabling the environment recognises the key role
that it plays in supporting and extending the children's development and their initial learning. It is
split into 3 areas of learning indoor play, outdoor play and the emotional aspect. All areas in the
setting must be used to their full potential, the children will use their imagination to make the dullest
of settings amazing, but having a change around once in a while is also good practice. Outdoor
areas: should have enough resources and equipment to challenge the interests of the children and
have enough room to let off some steam. Outdoor areas should be free flow and open in all
weathers. Motivation is great to get the kids out and in the fresh

Trifles Vs. A Jury Of Her Peers
"Trifles" Vs. "A Jury of Her Peers"
The short story and the play are both written by Susan Glaspell. She wrote two different forms of
literature that have the same plot, setting and characters. Susan Glaspell first wrote Trifles and then
later on translated in to a short story "A Jury of Her Peers." Her writing express how she viewed of
how the women were treated at the turn of the century. When trifles was first written in 1916 it was
a briefer and more mood evoking production of Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peters discovery of Minnie's
motive for murder. The stories based on the murder of John Hossac. The compare and contrast

The first differences in both the short story and the play are the titles. The Titles on both of them are
one of the most difference between them and anybody reading them can tell as soon as they read the
titles that is one of the changes she did. Someone that does not have a clue that they are both the
same would not even tell till they read them because they are both written different style ones a play
and other one is a short story, but there are the same. The titles gives a reader a different
understanding because both are about the same thing, but with different titles, and the reader might
think they should have similar titles but that was one of big changes Susan Glaspell did. When
someone reads the titles on both of them gives the reader a different focus for each one. The website

Comparing Trifles 'And A Jury Of Her Peers'
A Comparison between "Trifles" and "A Jury of Her Peers" Susan Keating Glaspell was an
American playwright, novelist, journalist and actress. She was born July 1, 1876, in Davenport,
Iowa. To most readers Susan Glaspell is still known primarily as the author of Trifles, the frequently
anthologized, classic feminist play about two women's secret discovery of a wife's murder of her
husband, or the short–story "A Jury of Her Peers," a re–writing of that piece. "Trifles" and "A Jury
of Her Peers" are extremely similar to one another in almost every respect. Much of the dialogue is
lifted directly from the play and placed into the short story. Additionally, all of the plot points are the
same, with some insignificant differences. An analysis on Susan Glaspell's play, "Trifles" and her
short story, "A Jury of Her Peers" compares the differences of ... Show more content on

The first difference being compared between the two stories is the characterization. In "Trifles,"
Minnie is accused of murder. Her house is then looked at by the Sheriff and the County Attorney,
while she is in prison, to find any evidence that could lead to the reason why she murders her
husband, Mr. Wright. Two other female characters name Mrs. Peter and Mrs. Hale also contribute a
large role in this play because of them, Minnie is described as a character. All three women are
round characters and indirect characters. Mrs. Peter and Mrs. Hale both are having a monologue
throughout the play in which they also provide details of how Minnie could be. Mrs. Peter is a static
character, she is very calm and respect the laws, compare to Mrs. Hale, which is a dynamic
character, she says what she feels to anyone and is always talking like a big mouth. Both characters
are left at the kitchen of Minnie's so called "unpleasant house' due to the lack of cleaning and
solitary vibe that is felt. In this kitchen, both women find lots

Personal Narrative: The Green Wave
Last night at Swank Field in Heath, Ohio the Newark Catholic Green Wave limped into action
against a undefeated and healthy Heath Bulldog team. I think many of the nice size crowd, who
knew that the smaller school, minus five starters had no chance of winning and most likely knew
that this one would be ugly and that is just what this game was.
Emotion can carry a team just so far and that's how this one started. On the Bulldogs first drive their
multi–talented quarterback,Aaron Latiolais was sacked by,Connor Sheehan. Sheehan has been
injured on and off this season, so to see the young guy get involved early was nice. Latiolais
recovered nicely as he connected with, #3 Brock Williams all the way to the Green Wave one–yard–
line, with 3:37 left in the quarter. From there the Heath line blew up a large hole for Latiolais to
walk threw, to give Heath a,6–0 lead, The point after kick by #17 Tayte Duncan, to make this a,7–0
lead at the 3:23 mark.
Newark Catholic got things started on offense with a nice eleven–yard run by Hunter Chapman.
With 1:13 left in the quarter Chapman was sacked by Tyler Karr for a three–yard loss and brought
up a fourth and six, for the Green Wave.
The Bulldogs used a eleven–play–sixty–five–yard drive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Newark Catholic defense seemed lost on plays like this on this night. I think most of the not up
to par playing by the Green Wave unit came from the offense fairing so poorly, with their offense
not having any success using just 1/3 of the field. The Bulldogs would score one final time at the
6:08 mark of the final frame. The score came on a Latiolais fourteen–yard pass to Adryn McCoy.
The Bulldogs must have wanted to get the starters as much time as possible in this one as they kept
most of them in the entire game. The point after was good to make the final score,

Meaning Of Trifles By Susan Glaspell
Susan Glaspell Works Perhaps the most notable difference between the two works is the change in
title. The title of the drama, "Trifles" implies the inconsequential nature of the women, in the eyes of
their male counterparts. Several times, within both works, the men regard the women as frivolous.
In the drama, one of Mrs. Peters' first lines is an explanation of Mrs. Wright's concern over the state
of her fruit preserves: "Oh, her fruit; it did freeze. She worried about that when it turned so cold. She
said the fire'd go out and her jars would break" (Trifles). Mrs. Peters' explanation is met with
mockery as her husband replies "Well can you beat women! Held for murder and worryin' about her
preserves" (Trifles). This exchange comes just

Two Teachers In Our Day Out By Willy Russell
Our Day out
'Our Day Out' is a written play by Willy Russell that reflects on the life the lower class of England
live, also addressing the 'progress class' children that aren't given any chances to develop themselves
and get a real shot at life. This is all represented through a day out. The play is dramatic and at times
comedic. There are two teachers in the play, both with contrasting personalities,Mrs Kay a very
lenient and kind teacher, and Mr.Briggs a firm, strict teacher. During this short essay I will be
analysing and capturing memorable quotes to back up points and observations I have made from the
play regarding the effectiveness of the two the two contradicting teachers.

On one side of the yo–yo string, there should be a hole. If no hole either side will work.
Take the one side and unwind the string by twisting it. A new hole should appear.
Slide the hole over the yo–yo and rewrap the string tight.

West Side Story Symbolism
To begin with, the scenography mimics the aspects of Upper West Side New York during the 1950's
to allow the audience to understand the setting of play. Most of the sets depict an urban setting in
which the audience can clearly see that the story takes place in a well–developed city. As for the
representation and perception of the stage, most sets were seen as abstract Some of the sets created
entailed Doc's restaurant, The Playground, and Statue of Liberty. Furthermore, the relationship
between the audience space and performers space were definitely separate: meaning the audience
were strictly viewing the play while the performers were telling a story. Interestingly, the play at
times had an amber lighting dispersed across the set to give off a warm tone or vibe symbolizing
good feelings or nice moment. Some parts of the play were set in a dimmer background enticing that
the play at times was very serious. In addition, the electronic used in IVC's West Side Story
production amplified or added more symbolism to the play. The hearing of a siren suggested that the
police were coming. During fight scenes, the auditory sound of a punch suggested that a someone
literally got punched. When a building was lit with light and the surroundings were dark, it suggests
that the current day of time was night time. During the rumble, the color red was shined specifically
on Riff and Bernardo to symbolize that they were bleeding out and had died. Overall, the props in
the play

the frequently anthologized, classic feminist play about two women's secret discovery of a wife's
murder of her husband, or the short–story "A Jury of Her Peers," a re–writing of that piece. "Trifles"
and "A Jury of Her Peers" are extremely similar to one another in almost every respect. Much of the
dialogue is lifted directly from the play and placed into the short story. Additionally, all of the plot
points are the same, with some insignificant differences. An ... Show more content on

The male characters add to these social rules and expectations with a more personalized form of
oppression: by belittling individual women for their weaknesses and their interests. Mr. Peters
mocks his own wife's fear of traveling to the home that is the scene of a murder. The men repeatedly
say that the items in the kitchen, or the items Mrs. Wright has requested in prison, are below their
notice. In this way, the men devalue the women by devaluing the only things that have been left to
the control of women. In many ways, Mrs. Peters and Martha Hale accept the treatment they receive
from the male characters. In fact, they contribute to the gender roles by believing certain things are
only the men's responsibility, such as finding serious evidence. Over the course of the story, though,
the women are able to acknowledge their situation to themselves and to each other. They are united
by Minnie's predicament because they see that they each have experienced the loneliness, isolation,
and mistreatment that led her to kill her husband. In recognizing their shared experience through
Minnie's tragic dilemma, the women begin to see themselves as part of a group of all women, and
they are unwilling to judge another women who experienced the same subjugation. In concealing
the evidence of Minnie's motive, the dead bird, the women stand up against the oppression they've

Lend Me a Tenor and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
Two productions that I had enjoyed seeing very much were Lend Me a Tenor and One Flew over the
Cuckoo's Nest. Both of these productions were great and had very great storyline and I really
enjoyed both of these productions. Each production had great actors and each portrayed their
character very well, by using many of the aspects of the six elements of theatre that Aristotle used to
explain the aesthetics of theatre. Each of these productions had very interesting characters and also
had great plots that kept audiences on the edges of their seats. In each of these productions there
were also many recurring themes and important messages that were underlying the whole play. The
design and furniture of both plays were also very stunning and visually pleasing. In Lend Me a
Tenor, there was a set of a house, which was very neat and very pretty. The house was very great and
also had other doors to other rooms that were very neatly and visually set up. In the production, One
Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest, the design of the set was very horror filled and it was very dark
because the setting was inside an asylum. A lot of the plot production and set and use of characters
to reveal the theme was prevalent in both of the plays. Both productions had very great and visually
pleasing sets, but also had difference in the mood each set gave off. Each play also had a specific
underlying theme, which was developed throughout the play, by many different characters, sets, and
symbols and

Susan Glaspell's Trifles Vs. A Jury Of Her Peers
Susan Glaspell, a writer and journalist of "Des Moines Daily" wrote many plays and novels. In 1916
Glaspell wrote the play "Trifles" which was loosely based on one of the first cases she ever reported
on, the murder of John Hossac. Glaspell later adapted her play into a short story known as "A Jury
of Her Peers" which was written only a year after the play in 1917. Glaspell retained as well as
changed aspects of the characters, details and titles when converting her play into a short story.
Though all of the characters remained the same in both the play and short story, Glaspell was able to
elaborate and go into the extent of relationships further. The play is purely black and white in that
there is no depth below the dialogue. In "A Jury of Her Peers", Glaspell was able to give the reader
insight into what the characters are thinking and feeling. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The main plot details were directly lifted from the play to the short story. As aforementioned
Glaspell develops background information in "A Jury of Her Peers" that helps further the
comprehension of events that play out. A lot more details about the murder and the thoughts of the
characters as things unfold. Unlike in the play, a more vivid description of the setting is developed
through the details given in the short story. The theme of the story is also easier to determine than in
the play. In the play there is little room for detail and background information everything has to be
assumed by dialogue and actions. The plot isn't nearly as detailed as the short story. One similarity
Glaspell carried over from the play to the short story is her version of feminism. Feminism as
portrayed by Glaspell in her two pieces is that women are not equal to men but more so superior. It
is alluded that women are smarter in the way they notice the little details that convict Minnie Wright

Bison Offense
Last night in Dayton, at Welcome stadium the Belmont Bison hosted the Bulldogs from Woodward
high school, out of Cincinnati. Belmont has shown a very high octane running offense at times this
season, while the Bulldogs has been up and down not only only offense but defense as well.
Things got start with a bang, when Dawson Martin took off for a sixteen–yard run, showing speed
and nice field vision. Martin would close out the drive on a 2–yard run to make this a,6–0 game. A
two point conversion run by,Elijah Malcolm made the score,8–0, with 9:05 left in the quarter.

Martin converted the conversion run to make this a,32–6 game. The other play on the drive came on
a seventy–four–yard run by Dorrick Conner.
In watching this much of the game the one question that popped in my head was,how did Liberty
Union shut out this Belmont team/ I have seen Liberty Union earlier this season in their blowout win
over the Tigers, from Columbus East.
Woodward had to know this game was all but over at the 5:38 mark of the 2nd quarter, so they
decided to go for it on fourth down, needing fourteen–yards for the first down, deep in their own
territory. The decision went from bad to worse when Reliford was called for intentional grounding,
giving the ball to Belmont at the Bulldogs nine–yard line.
The Bison scored on their next play, when quarterback Justin Young ran in the end zone. Another
two point conversion run was successful, this time by Malcom to make this a,40–6 game.
Belmont's offense was back at work at the 3:37 mark of the quarter with Young running for
eighteen–yards. Young would be sacked on the drive by #17(not on either roster I have)for a short
loss at the 1:36 mark of the quarter. The drive ended on a 39–yard pass from Young to a wide–
opened Ja'don Rucker–furlow with :52 showing on the clock. This time it would be Dorrick Conner

Compare And Contrast Trifles And A Jury Of Her Peers
"A Jury of Her Peers" and Trifles are both written by Susan Glaspell. Susan Glaspell wrote many
things that showed women's role in society. Both writings tell a story about a man, John Wright, that
was mysteriously murdered in his sleep. The men in the story are trying to solve the mystery, but
look down on the women and their opinions. The women are the ones that end up finding most of
the mystery solving clues. Susan Glaspell hides many messages in her writings. "A Jury of Her

Isolating Limpers Essay
♠ ♣ ♦ ♥
In today's games, isolating limpers is a well–known tactic that the vast majority of regs actively
integrate into their strategy. This is because playing in position versus weaker players is highly
profitable via multiple avenues. Immediately, we can win money when our opponent folds pre–flop
to our isolation raise. Even if called, we often benefit from the post–flop mistakes our opponents
make out of position. This is because players who limp are typically trying to see a cheap flop to try
to make a hand. Once they call, they will usually play fit or fold, setting up a profitable c–bet
scenario. Additionally, limping players are also notorious for hanging onto their hand with any piece
of the board for multiple streets. Therefore, when we do connect, we can take them to value town.
When your average poker player thinks of a short stacker, he likely conjures images of desperation
all–in moves by players without any skill who are resigned to being a one–trick pony. While this
may sometimes be the case, as I do often see poor players buying in short, the popular view creates
a powerful weapon accessible to those willing to wield it. As a short–stacked player, we can ... Show

commiting plays, such as shoving or 3rd and going. And while I otherwise feel comfortable deeper
stacked, I still always come to the same conclusion. In the case of dealing with limpers, full stacks
seemingly have but one option; small isolation raises. In this situation, playing a full stack severely
inhibits a player's route to maximum profit against most bad players. Therefore, in the case of
isolating limpers, playing a 100 big blind starting stack seems to be much more of a "one trick

Poem Vs Short Story
The essential difference between a poem and a short story is the difference of scope. So, poems are
short and they, briefly, tell you how the author is feeling about in a few words, while short stories
could be written by the author at any moment with a plot, themes, character development, setting
etc.
The play "Naked Lunch" by Michael Hollinger is about a man named Vernon and a female named
Lucy. They used to be a couple but they are no longer together. When they were sitting down to eat,
Vernon started asking her the reasons of why she did not want to eat steak. He was making a big
problem of it. Vernon finally ends up making Lucy eat the steak by yelling at her. Consequently, she
ate the steak because she was scared.
A play can be long or short, it all depends on what the author wants to transmit to his or her
audience. The time is essentially important. In a play the characters need to talk each other to have
an act; on the other hand, in short stories the narrator explains the situation, he is the one making
and telling us the story.
Most good stories start with a fundamental characteristics: the initial situation, the conflict, the
climax, suspense, and conclusion. In "Girl" by Jamaica Kincaid, the story does not seems to be real

how the author begins it differences him from others. As in "Naked Lunch" by Michael Hollinger; I

Comparing Glaspell's Trifles And A Jury Of Her Peers
I Prefer "Trifles" over "A Jury of Her Peers." "Trifles" is an interesting play because it appeals to the
sense of vision and hearing more than the short story. It is interesting to watch the body language of
the characters in "Trifles." The body language enhances the understanding of the audience. For
example, two male characters and two female characters are seen effectively in the play. The play is
interesting to watch due to the appeal of the stage. The stage is brightly lit to enhance the focus of
the audience on the characters (K.E.G. Productions). The accent of the characters enables the
international audience to understand the social background of the play. The characters communicate
in an American accent and, therefore, the play depicts the happenings in the American society. ...

A Streetcar Named Desire Stanley Character Traits
Stanley's Character and Personality
A Streetcar Named Desire, by Tennessee Williams, is a modern tragedy that focuses on
the working class of New Orleans and the typical daily problems that they went through in the
1940s. Stanley, the tragic figure's antagonist, depicts a number of important qualities and
characteristics in the first three scenes of the play that make us understand why he acts the
way he does. Through his words, his actions and his interactions, he is portrayed as short–

deranged at this point of the scene since beating up a woman is thought to be insanely
unacceptable into society and, consequently, depicts the short–temperedness in him.

Comparing 'Trifles And A Jury Of Her Peers'
Susan Glaspell wrote Trifles in 1916 and later made a short story out of it. They both explain the
plot of Minnie who is accused of murdering her husband. He is found dead in bed with a rope
around his neck. Three men come to Minnie's house to carry out an investigation of the murder of
her husband. Due to the year the story takes place in, women didn't have the rights they do today.
This plays a significant role in the two stories as it depicts how men looked at women. A comparison
of "Trifles" and "A Jury of Her Peers" by Susan Glaspell will explain the changes of the dialog, plot,
and how they are explained. Firstly, there is the dialog in both stories. "Trifles" was written in a play
form and explains events through a conversation. A play gives the actors a chance to develop and
shows emotion in a verbal form. Although, this makes "Trifles" more suitable to be seen in a live
demonstration as it is in a play form. It is a verbal take on the story and shows how they conversed
with each other. Although, it does not give any insight into what the characters are thinking in their
mind. Additionally, this add to the play as it gives the views insight on how men talked to women.
Due to this taking place in the 1900s men had a different outlook on females. Women still didn't

In the short play, "Tender Offer" by Wendy Wasserstein, is a drama play about a father and

she feels as though he neglected her. In the beginning of the play there is tension right away when

Bad All Themes
I will be discussing if I was a director, my concept of the play, I Can Do Bad All by Myself,
produced by Tyler Perry. I chose this play because it can relate to almost any family who has had or
is having family issues because of a mother not knowing how to be a good mother to their child
because of their past issues. This play includes rape, fighting, cheating that leads to divorce and
most important unity. Each of these assets are important in this play. My concept of this play is to
have the audience leaving in tears, realizing how important it is for a child to have their mother, as a
role model in their life. The storyline of this play is Madea who is the crux character has her family
members living with her. Vivanne who is her granddaughter, ... Show more content on

mother, when Maylee was younger allowed her to be raped for money by a random guy in result of
getting pregnant with Kiesha. Kiesha resents her mother because she is never there for her and
doesn't care much about what Kiesha does. This leads to Kiesha getting pregnant at a young age and
Maylee forcing her to have an abortion and pushing her out on the streets due to not having the
abortion. Maylee, realizing she is forcing her child to do the same thing her mother did to her she
goes and get her daughter off the streets and brings her home. I want my audience to leave this play
in tears, grabbing on to their children, letting them know how much they love them because this has
a big impact on them This play is a deep but also intellectual play that should hit home whether you

Susan Glaspell's A Jury Of Her Peers
Susan Glaspell Works
Perhaps the most notable difference between the two works is the change in title. The title of the
drama, "Trifles" implies the inconsequential nature of the women, in the eyes of their male
counterparts. Several times, within both works, the men regard the women as frivolous. In the
drama, one of Mrs. Peters' first lines is an explanation of Mrs. Wright's concern over the state of her
fruit preserves: "Oh, her fruit; it did freeze. She worried about that when it turned so cold. She said
the fire'd go out and her jars would break" (Trifles). Mrs. Peters' explanation is met with mockery as
her husband replies "Well can you beat women! Held for murder and worryin' about her preserves"

Hale, as if dismissing a thing not important enough to spend much time on. "I don't know as she was
– nervous. I sew awful queer sometimes when I'm just tired" (Jury 12).
While the dialogue remains unchanged, the reversal of roles feels more natural to the characters of
the short story, and the addition of inflection in Mrs. Hale's voice adds a deliberateness to her
comment that is absent from the play. This is not the only significant change in the dialogue of the
two works. Another small, but significant, change in dialogue occurs later in the two works, as the
investigation comes to an end. The men are returning to the kitchen and the County Attorney says to
Mr. Peters "No, Peters, it's all perfectly clear, except a reason for doing it. But you know juries when
it comes to women. If there was some definite thing. Something to show – something to make a
story about..." and here is where the comment differs. In "Trifles" the Attorney completes his
thought saying, "– a thing that would connect up with this strange way of doing it –" (Trifles). The
statement differs only slightly from the short story, as the Attorney concludes his thought saying, "A
thing that would connect up with this clumsy way of doing it" (Jury 18). The change in wording is
slight, but the revised version of the short story carries a different connotation. Merriam–Webster
defines "strange" as "3.a. Discouraging familiarities" (Merriam–Webster), meaning that the method

Have Fun While Doing Workout Essay
Have fun while doing workouts– here are the games that transform work into play
Almost everyone is running behind a machine life in this era. People have lots of works to do in
their life. And for some, exercise is just one more work in their routine. Some will be frustrated
while doing workouts. It is easy to lose motivation during the weight reduce plan. So, making the
workout fun is the most important thing; for this, it is better to try a physical activity that actually
brings the fun out of the person.
Sports are the perfect choice for this. But for the people who don't have the competitive attitude,
play based workouts are the best and simpler alternative. Plenty of science suggests that play is the
best activity for brains of adults. The real reason behind turning a workout into a play station is
people should encourage and induce working out.

take a large step forward with the right leg, descending till the left leg almost touches the ground. At
tom of the split–squat both the knees will form right angles. The knee should be above the toe but it
should not be in front.
In this situation, the player with the deck throws one card at a time towards their partner. The partner
must catch cards while they maintain their lung position, they can lean left, right, up, and down to
catch the card. The partner can try to catch 5–10 cards, then they can rest and they can switch the
legs and they can change thrower and catcher roles.

Leaning aside from side to side and reaching up and down will increase the core stability to all the
movements. Trying to maintain the position will mean to balance and the player has to prepare for

My rings were to symbolize the bond I share with Brick and the jewelry I was putting on, as
Maggie's actions were stated. The children would use bottle caps or crumpled papers, used to throw
at Maggie when they are mocking her. My group and I could not find a crutch for the member
playing Brick, to use. I decided to take off the end of a broomstick and use the stick as a crutch. I
came up with the idea of using the classroom as a prop too. The teacher's desk would be my makeup
dresser. As I am speaking to Brick, I would use the computer screen, as if, I am putting on makeup.
As stated earlier, I chose the end of act 1, scene 1 in Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, because it introduced a
deeper concept of emotions and interactions in the play. The beginning of the play was not
intriguing to my group members and I. I did not understand why the husband and the wife were
filled with anger and hostility until the end of the act. The author had me in strings because I did not
know how the character, Maggie should be

Research Paper On Running Offense

  • 1. Research Paper On Running Offense Last night in Chillicothe at the Obadiah Harris Family Athletic Complex, Wheelersburg and the explosive offense did battle with Middletown Madison and its high octane one–dimensional running offense. I do not think many felt this game would turn into the defensive struggle it turned out to be, but that is what happened and this was a dogfight all game lone. In the first half I had Madison unofficially having the ball six times, running 34 plays and gaining 65–yards. For the Pirates they had the ball five times, running 27 plays, gaining 25 yards, including 13 passes. Neither team could get any momentum going and a lo t of that was because of penalties. In the second have unofficially I had Madison running 28 plays, gaining 12 yards, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With 3:14 left Salyers would be stopped for a four–yard loss, when he was tackled by Pelgen once again. Then with 2:34 left Salyers would be picked off by Whiteman. Whiteman looks really good on the defensive side of the ball and he runs the Madison offense very well. With 18.9 seconds left Whiteman was stopped after gaining just one–yard by Sylas Akers, putting Madison into a 2nd and goal from the Pirates 5–yard–line. From there the Mohawks quarterback, Mason Whiteman plowed in from a yard out to make this a 6–0 game. The point after kick was hit by #21 (Not on the maxpreps roster) to make this a 7–0 game, with :4 seconds left in the half. Just :50 seconds into the third quarter Salyers had his pass tipped and then picked off by #20(Not on the max preps roster) giving the Mohawks a first and goal at the Pirates 7–yard–line. The pirates defense would hold the Mohawks to minus 4–yards on the first three plays of the drive, forcing a field goal try from #21, that was good to make this a 10–o Mohawk lead, with 9:33 left on the clock. The Pirates would turn the ball over again, with 8:44 left on the clock when Case Dyer was fighting for extra yards, fumbled the ball and making the recovery for Madison was #30(Not on the max preps roster) With 8:30 left in the quarter Whiteman would be brought down by CJ Hall , for a 2–yard loss and then with 7:23 left Whiteman would throw the ball right to the ... • 3. We Play For 66 Short Story We Play for 66 It only took a few minutes for a town to turn upside down, but it only took one game for the town to come together. The whole team made it to our early Saturday morning practice. Everything went smooth, everyone was joking and having fun. When we broke the huddle to leave practice nobody knew that something terrible was bound to happen that night. Taylor was working on his family's ranch, he was the hardest worker on that ranch. Well he and one of their hired hands went to unload a grain bin. Some grain was stuck on the corners of the bin so they tried banging the outside of the bin with a hammer. That did not work so Taylor hopped in, while he was in there, the grain had a crust layer on top. That layer broke and Taylor fell in, the grain and dust covered him head to toe. The hired hand hopped in to try to save him, but he couldn't get him out, so he hopped in a nearby tractor and knocked the bin over. They cut the side of the bin open and got Taylor out. ... Monday after practice some of the guys drove to Sioux Falls to see him and he did not look to good, but he was breathing and that gave him Hope. Tuesday morning the football team was called out of class and was told to go to the locker room. When we entered all the coaches were there and they told us to have a seat. Coach Aaker proceeded to tell us that he had passed away late last night. Everyone was in shock and just sat there. Coach tried to talk but he battled tears. He told us we didn't have to play the next game, but we decided Taylor would have wanted us to continue to play, and he would have the best seat in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Frank Wedekind's Spring Awakening Spring Awakening by Frank Wedekind pushed many envelopes when it was first performed in 1906. The play, which is set in pre–World War I Germany in 1890, touched on many controversial topics such as teen sexuality, abuse, rape, homosexuality, suicide, and abortion. Wedekind's blunt and dramatic use of the caseara in the dialog between characters and in Mortiz's soliloquy in the resolution as well as the use of expressionism helps further enhance the overall theme of the play. Wedekind shows this in a series of short, frantic scenes that unraveled what lies beneath the surface of the regimented German society at the start of the 20th century and discusses topics that no one wanted to address on a global scale. Benjamin Franklin Wedekind ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The town's pastor lacks sympathy for Mortz's internal downfall. It can be argued that Melchior is the most positive character in the play. Despite the fact he is an atheist and openly struggles with religious belief, he is one of the positive characters although some of his actions counteract this statement. Wedekind shows the views of christianity by showing Moritz, having committed suicide, not being able to go to heaven, or even to rest. When Melchoir goes to the grave to see Mortz and discovers Wendela's grave, the ghost of Mortz visits Melchoir alongside a man in a mask who stays unnamed at that time and asked him to come join him on the other side. He reassures Melchoir that joining him is a good idea because it provides "a piece of mind, a contentedness..."(79). Melchior however does not listen to Mortz and accepts his sins. This choice reaffirm his title as one of the more positive characters in the play. Him acknowledging his faults and understanding his need for punishment makes it possible to forgive and understand Melchoir as an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Susan Glaspell's Trifles And A Jury Of Her Peers The play, Trifles, is about Mrs. Wright's murder, while Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peters figure out the reasoning and who committed the crime. The short story, "A Jury of Her Peers" is the same story but retold in a different fashion. This change in storytelling creates changes to the story by using thoughts and narration more often than only using conversation and action. The changes between Susan Glaspell's Trifles and "A Jury of Her Peers" are shown by the changes in the opening, the characterization, and the descriptions of the stories. To begin, the opening of the short story differs a lot from the play. The location in the opening is different between the play and the short story. In Trifles, the scene is set in "the now abandoned farmhouse ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The house had a few minor details that were different between the play and the short story. The play describes the house as being a lonely place. There are descriptions of the items in the kitchen and the display of things that are left out. The short story gives some more details to describe the house. The house has more descriptions of how it is lonely. There is more emphasis on it being at the end of a lonely road with lonesome trees in the yard. The actions and thoughts are portrayed differently between the short story and the play. In Trifles, actions are used commonly, because speech and actions are the only ways to portray something. Thoughts are only able to be shown through a character's dialogue or actions. Which goes into the descriptions given while trying to hide the canary. The actions are quick and are used to show how Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peters are thinking. The actions and thoughts are represented differently throughout "A Jury of Her Peers". There are many details throughout the story that would be difficult to portray in actions, therefore these thoughts are unique to the short story. • 9. Susan Glaspell's A Jury Of Her Peers In 1917, Susan Glaspell rewrote her 1916 Play, "Trifles," into a short story called "A Jury of her Peers." They both depict a group of townspeople investigating the murder of Mr. Wright. It is suspected that Mrs. Minnie Wright, his wife, is the murderer. As the story goes on, the women in the group figure out she committed the murder but decide to hide evidence to keep her from being convicted. Susan Glaspell wrote a short story titled "A Jury of her Peers" mirroring a previous play that she had written titled "Trifles." There are slight changes and variations between these two that make them surprisingly different. By comparing the characters point of view, the way the story is introduced, and the plot we can point out key differences between ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The titles of the two help set up the point of view that particular story is going to be told in. The story named "A Jury of Her Peers" was named that because Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peters, her peers, basically decided the fate of Minnie. They both decided not to turn in the evidence and, in doing so, more than likely kept her out of prison. The term "jury" used in the title is appropriate because the whole story is depicting a group of townspeople who are investigating the murder scene to decide her fate. Typically, a group of people deciding someone's fate is called a jury. In the play, "Trifles," Mr. Hale states that women are constantly "worrying over trifles" (Glaspell 561). Yet, these are the same trifles that if the men paid attention to they would be able to get plenty of evidence against Minnie. The introductions to the stories are also very different, in the story it starts way before they get to Mrs. Wrights house. It actually starts at Mr. and Mrs. Hales house as the sheriff's buggy stops to pick them up. This allows us to get a feel for the relationships between each of the characters. It also allows us to understand why the women are there in the first place, the sheriffs wife, Mrs. Peters, is there to get some of Mrs. Wrights things for her, and Mrs. Hale is there simply to keep Mrs. Peters company. It states, "and then the sheriff came running in to say his wife wished Mrs. Hale would come too––– adding, with a grin, that he guessed she was getting scarey and wanted another woman along"(Glaspell 568). The story also gives a very descriptive view of the Mrs. Wrights home, and namely her kitchen. This differs greatly from the play in the fact that the only description of the setting that we get in the beginning of the play is a short scene description before the character dialogue starts. There is no information to connect the characters in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Family Values In Fences Fences August Wilson's Fences is a play about Troy Maxson, and how his values influence his family's. The play takes place in 1950's Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Troy Maxson is a black, middle aged man working for a garbage company. Each member of the Maxson family has a special relationship with Troy, that affects their behavior throughout the play. In life you learn the most from your parents. They teach you how to walk, speak, and respect one another. Your parents also give you a set of values for life. As you grow up as your own individual, your values will change from your parents. There will be things that are much more important to you, and not as important to them. In the play Fences Troy Maxson has a very strong set of values that he believes are true in how you should live life. Troy imposes these values on everyone in his family to the best of his ability. Each character in Fences is at a different stage in their life, so Troy can't push his values onto characters that already have their own beliefs. The character that Troy has the most influence on in the play is Cory. Troy is in Cory's life throughout his childhood, and as his father Cory must respect Troy. Troy is very firm with Cory, because he wants Cory to be successful. Cory has a dream of becoming a football player, and this does not follow Troy's values. Troy influences Cory so much that Cory will always be like Troy whether he realizes it or not. "Your daddy wanted you to be everything he wasn't ... and at ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

"Certain soccer players are blessed with natural ability, but even that doesn't guarantee soccer success." (Grahame). In order to become an excellent soccer player, you need to work on skills such as passing, shooting, touch, communication, attitude, along with fitness. Soccer can be an actual tough sport to play, if soccer players aren't organized appropriate well with the ball it makes the sport very tough along with not having fun. Also, players need to have a love for the game that keeps them motivated when things aren't going their way. "You don't need to be the most skillful or stylish player on the field to succeed in the game." (Grahame). If a teammate is getting pressured by somebody while they have the ball, and they don't know, it is your responsibility to help them, and let them know that someone is pressuring them. The more a person talks in a game, the better it is, it allows the player with the ball know that you are an option for him if he doesn't know what to do. Enabling the environment recognises the key role that it plays in supporting and extending the children's development and their initial learning. It is split into 3 areas of learning indoor play, outdoor play and the emotional aspect. All areas in the setting must be used to their full potential, the children will use their imagination to make the dullest of settings amazing, but having a change around once in a while is also good practice. • 21. Comparing Trifles 'And A Jury Of Her Peers' A Comparison between "Trifles" and "A Jury of Her Peers" Susan Keating Glaspell was an American playwright, novelist, journalist and actress. She was born July 1, 1876, in Davenport, Iowa. To most readers Susan Glaspell is still known primarily as the author of Trifles, the frequently anthologized, classic feminist play about two women's secret discovery of a wife's murder of her husband, or the short–story "A Jury of Her Peers," a re–writing of that piece. "Trifles" and "A Jury of Her Peers" are extremely similar to one another in almost every respect. Much of the dialogue is lifted directly from the play and placed into the short story. Two other female characters name Mrs. Peter and Mrs. Hale also contribute a large role in this play because of them, Minnie is described as a character. All three women are round characters and indirect characters. Mrs. Peter and Mrs. Hale both are having a monologue throughout the play in which they also provide details of how Minnie could be. Mrs. Peter is a static character, she is very calm and respect the laws, compare to Mrs. Hale, which is a dynamic character, she says what she feels to anyone and is always talking like a big mouth. • 23. Personal Narrative: The Green Wave Last night at Swank Field in Heath, Ohio the Newark Catholic Green Wave limped into action against a undefeated and healthy Heath Bulldog team. I think many of the nice size crowd, who knew that the smaller school, minus five starters had no chance of winning and most likely knew that this one would be ugly and that is just what this game was. Emotion can carry a team just so far and that's how this one started. On the Bulldogs first drive their multi–talented quarterback,Aaron Latiolais was sacked by,Connor Sheehan. Sheehan has been injured on and off this season, so to see the young guy get involved early was nice. Latiolais recovered nicely as he connected with, #3 Brock Williams all the way to the Green Wave one–yard– line, with 3:37 left in the quarter. From there the Heath line blew up a large hole for Latiolais to walk threw, to give Heath a,6–0 lead, The point after kick by #17 Tayte Duncan, to make this a,7–0 lead at the 3:23 mark. Newark Catholic got things started on offense with a nice eleven–yard run by Hunter Chapman. • 25. Meaning Of Trifles By Susan Glaspell Susan Glaspell Works Perhaps the most notable difference between the two works is the change in title. The title of the drama, "Trifles" implies the inconsequential nature of the women, in the eyes of their male counterparts. Several times, within both works, the men regard the women as frivolous. In the drama, one of Mrs. Peters' first lines is an explanation of Mrs. Wright's concern over the state of her fruit preserves: "Oh, her fruit; it did freeze. She worried about that when it turned so cold. She said the fire'd go out and her jars would break" (Trifles). Mrs. Peters' explanation is met with mockery as her husband replies "Well can you beat women! Held for murder and worryin' about her preserves" (Trifles). This exchange comes just ... Most of the sets depict an urban setting in which the audience can clearly see that the story takes place in a well–developed city. As for the representation and perception of the stage, most sets were seen as abstract Some of the sets created entailed Doc's restaurant, The Playground, and Statue of Liberty. Furthermore, the relationship between the audience space and performers space were definitely separate: meaning the audience were strictly viewing the play while the performers were telling a story. Interestingly, the play at times had an amber lighting dispersed across the set to give off a warm tone or vibe symbolizing good feelings or nice moment. Some parts of the play were set in a dimmer background enticing that the play at times was very serious. In addition, the electronic used in IVC's West Side Story production amplified or added more symbolism to the play. The hearing of a siren suggested that the police were coming. During fight scenes, the auditory sound of a punch suggested that a someone literally got punched. When a building was lit with light and the surroundings were dark, it suggests that the current day of time was night time. Glaspell later adapted her play into a short story known as "A Jury of Her Peers" which was written only a year after the play in 1917. Glaspell retained as well as changed aspects of the characters, details and titles when converting her play into a short story. Though all of the characters remained the same in both the play and short story, Glaspell was able to elaborate and go into the extent of relationships further. • 50. Isolating Limpers Essay ♠ ♣ ♦ ♥ In today's games, isolating limpers is a well–known tactic that the vast majority of regs actively integrate into their strategy. This is because playing in position versus weaker players is highly profitable via multiple avenues. Immediately, we can win money when our opponent folds pre–flop to our isolation raise. Even if called, we often benefit from the post–flop mistakes our opponents make out of position. This is because players who limp are typically trying to see a cheap flop to try to make a hand. Once they call, they will usually play fit or fold, setting up a profitable c–bet scenario. Additionally, limping players are also notorious for hanging onto their hand with any piece of the board for multiple streets. Therefore, when we do connect, we can take them to value town. When your average poker player thinks of a short stacker, he likely conjures images of desperation all–in moves by players without any skill who are resigned to being a one–trick pony. • 52. Poem Vs Short Story The essential difference between a poem and a short story is the difference of scope. So, poems are short and they, briefly, tell you how the author is feeling about in a few words, while short stories could be written by the author at any moment with a plot, themes, character development, setting etc. The play "Naked Lunch" by Michael Hollinger is about a man named Vernon and a female named Lucy. They used to be a couple but they are no longer together. When they were sitting down to eat, Vernon started asking her the reasons of why she did not want to eat steak. He was making a big problem of it. Vernon finally ends up making Lucy eat the steak by yelling at her. Consequently, she ate the steak because she was scared. A play can be long or short, it all depends on what the author wants to transmit to his or her audience. The time is essentially important. In a play the characters need to talk each other to have an act; on the other hand, in short stories the narrator explains the situation, he is the one making and telling us the story. For example, imagination is applicable to the story. The audience can imagine the dead John Wright, with the rope around the neck (Carpentier and Emeline 81). The short story has a clear format, with a proper start, mid–section, and end stages. • 56. A Streetcar Named Desire Stanley Character Traits Stanley's Character and Personality A Streetcar Named Desire, by Tennessee Williams, is a modern tragedy that focuses on the working class of New Orleans and the typical daily problems that they went through in the 1940s. Stanley, the tragic figure's antagonist, depicts a number of important qualities and characteristics in the first three scenes of the play that make us understand why he acts the way he does. Through his words, his actions and his interactions, he is portrayed as short– tempered, knowledgeable, cold–hearted. In the beginning of the play, we realize, after the intense dialogue between Blanche and Stanley, that he lacks a compassionate heart towards Blanche when she appears in at his apartment. He acts harshly towards Stella and Blanche at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This metaphor makes known to us the beastly and irrational nature of Stanley when he is enraged and exaggerates the short–temperedness he goes through. Furthermore, the act that takes place later is scarring. When Stella acts up and questions his authority, he acts illogically and rushes to her and strikes her. Stanley is obviously deranged at this point of the scene since beating up a woman is thought to be insanely unacceptable into society and, consequently, depicts the short–temperedness in him. Conclusively, as the scenes in the play unfold, Stanley's personality keeps constantly shaping these scenes are just a few of the various emotions portrayed by Stanley in the play. Stanley is a

  • 59. Comparing 'Trifles And A Jury Of Her Peers' Susan Glaspell wrote Trifles in 1916 and later made a short story out of it. They both explain the plot of Minnie who is accused of murdering her husband. He is found dead in bed with a rope around his neck. Three men come to Minnie's house to carry out an investigation of the murder of her husband. Due to the year the story takes place in, women didn't have the rights they do today. This plays a significant role in the two stories as it depicts how men looked at women. A comparison of "Trifles" and "A Jury of Her Peers" by Susan Glaspell will explain the changes of the dialog, plot, and how they are explained. Firstly, there is the dialog in both stories. "Trifles" was written in a play form and explains events through a conversation. A play gives the actors a chance to develop and shows emotion in a verbal form. Although, this makes "Trifles" more suitable to be seen in a live demonstration as it is in a play form. It is a verbal take on the story and shows how they conversed with each other. Although, it does not give any insight into what the characters are thinking in their mind. Additionally, this add to the play as it gives the views insight on how men talked to women. Due to this taking place in the 1900s men had a different outlook on females. Women still didn't have a right to vote and were treated unequal. As a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Throughout both forms an off balance occurs that shows specifically how harsh women were treated in the early 1900s but does not show how both men and women should be equal. In addition, there are few differences between both forms, there are changes within dialog, plot, and medium. In brief, both forms had a meaning that the author wanted to shine light on. Paul is a 35–year–old businessman, who puts work before anyone and isn't around much for his daughter Lisa. Lisa is a nine–year–old girl who is all alone in the dance studio after her father missed her dance recital. Lisa and Paul don't spend enough family time together since he is always too busy with work. This leads to Lisa not wanting to spend time with him since she feels as though he neglected her. In the beginning of the play there is tension right away when Lisa's father Paul finally shows up after missing her dance recital. He tries to tell Lisa that he was "sorry he was late" (pg. 816), tries to joke around with her and be friendly since he missed her dance recital. Even though he is trying to make Lisa feel better, she just isn't falling for it. She feels though that he neglected her. She is answering him back in short quick one word or two ... He tried to be more friendly with her and joke around but that still wasn't doing the trick. He ends up making Lisa a tender offer which leads to him asking Lisa, "if she'd show him her dance recital" (pg. 821). • 63. Bad All Themes I will be discussing if I was a director, my concept of the play, I Can Do Bad All by Myself, produced by Tyler Perry. I chose this play because it can relate to almost any family who has had or is having family issues because of a mother not knowing how to be a good mother to their child because of their past issues. This play includes rape, fighting, cheating that leads to divorce and most important unity. Each of these assets are important in this play. My concept of this play is to have the audience leaving in tears, realizing how important it is for a child to have their mother, as a role model in their life. The storyline of this play is Madea who is the crux character has her family members living with her. Vivanne who is her granddaughter, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Maylee;s mother, when Maylee was younger allowed her to be raped for money by a random guy in result of getting pregnant with Kiesha. Kiesha resents her mother because she is never there for her and doesn't care much about what Kiesha does. This leads to Kiesha getting pregnant at a young age and Maylee forcing her to have an abortion and pushing her out on the streets due to not having the abortion. Maylee, realizing she is forcing her child to do the same thing her mother did to her she goes and get her daughter off the streets and brings her home. I want my audience to leave this play in tears, grabbing on to their children, letting them know how much they love them because this has a big impact on them This play is a deep but also intellectual play that should hit home whether you have experienced this or know someone who has experienced this. I would explain to my set designers I want the first act of play to feel homey. I want to see couches, beds, curtains, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Theater is a creative outlet for the soul to paint a picture towards showcasing a short story. This past weekend, I attended a play at Crabpot Players Theater to observe a parody of one of Shakespeare's most famous pieces, A Midsummer Night's Dream. As a whole the play was fairly decent, but there were a few minor issues that held the piece back. It is officially time to analyze the good, the bad, and the ugly. What were the positives of the show? One may ask. Overall, the strongest standing point of the piece was the excellent acting. Each actor in the show covered multiple characters, for ... • 67. Susan Glaspell's A Jury Of Her Peers Susan Glaspell Works Perhaps the most notable difference between the two works is the change in title. I sew awful queer sometimes when I'm just tired" (Jury 12). While the dialogue remains unchanged, the reversal of roles feels more natural to the characters of the short story, and the addition of inflection in Mrs. Hale's voice adds a deliberateness to her comment that is absent from the play. This is not the only significant change in the dialogue of the two works. Another small, but significant, change in dialogue occurs later in the two works, as the investigation comes to an end. The men are returning to the kitchen and the County Attorney says to Mr. Peters "No, Peters, it's all perfectly clear, except a reason for doing it. But you know juries when it comes to women. If there was some definite thing. Something to show – something to make a story about..." and here is where the comment differs. In "Trifles" the Attorney completes his thought saying, "– a thing that would connect up with this strange way of doing it –" (Trifles). The statement differs only slightly from the short story, as the Attorney concludes his thought saying, "A thing that would connect up with this clumsy way of doing it" (Jury 18). The change in wording is slight, but the revised version of the short story carries a different connotation. Merriam–Webster defines "strange" as "3.a. My biggest dream at that time was to start on the seventh grade A team as a linebacker. The first day of practice we went to the defensive position that we wanted to play, so therefore I went to the linebacker coach. When I went over there he just laughed at me and told me to go over to the safety coach because I was just to small. So I did and ended up being decent at the position. Thankfully I was able to go to the position on offence that I wanted, which was running back. I ended up starting B team as a safety and a running back. The next thing I know, I see my coaches standing over me waving their hands and I see their mouths moving, but all I hear is this ringing in my ear. When I finally am able to hear them they are asking if I am okay and if I can get up and walk. As I get up to start walking to the sideline, my coaches are holding on to me just in case I fall. Then all of a sudden I feel this burning sensation on the right side of my neck. I reach up to touch it and there is blood all over my hand. I had lacerated my neck by hitting my helmet on the returners thigh so hard that my it jolted to one side. From the time I started play basketball I always change the techniques, we were taught to make it easier for me to do. This resulted in me coming into high school with terrible shooting form. I used my legs way too much, I shot from my hip, and my elbow was always pointed outwards. My summer basketball coach worked with me my whole summer going into my junior year to get me to bring my elbow in when shooting. This allowed my to get my shot off quicker, get more power from my upper body, and to be more constant with my shot. It also allowed me to use less energy each time I had a jump shot. 'Dell–Arte' is a term that means the actors improvise from a set of characters and situations. The actors in this play were very good at improvising to the point where much of it did not seem like improv. The actor who portrayed the role of Ibitha Paella Capitano was especially good at his role as he went beyond most people's normal comfort level when acting. I also enjoyed how there was interaction between the characters and the audience before the play and during the play. The play in which my group and I had a strong connection with is Cat On A Hot Tin Roof. We performed the end of Act 1, Scene 1 for various reasons. The act contained various emotions, intriguing dialogue, various literary devices and a deep perception of social relationships. The interactions of Brick and Maggie and Maggie and Brick's nieces and nephews. The thought process for picking this scene was a challenge. We realized this scene was not evenly distributed with character's monologue. We began blurting out ideas that would help us decide on keeping this scene or changing to a new one.
