2. Invisible Children is a 501(c)(3) organization
based in San Diego, CA and in Uganda, Africa.
Dedicated to stopping war
violence and assisting
those in war-afflicted
communities throughout
Central and East Africa.
INTENTIONS:
(1) Make the world aware of the LRA. This includes making
documentary films and touring them around the world so that
they are seen for free by millions of people.
(2) Channel energy from viewers of IC films into large-scale
advocacy campaigns to stop the LRA and protect civilians.
(3) Operate programs on the ground in LRA-affected areas that
focus on protecting communities, supporting LRA victims and
post-conflict reconstruction.
6. Lords Resistance Army, or LRA : an extremely
powerful and violent rebel army group known for
their tactics of rape, killing civilians,
mutilation, cannibalism, and abducting children
to become LRA soldiers and wives.

8. CREATING CHANGE
“Invisible Children uses film, creativity and social
action to end the use of child soldiers in Joseph Kony's
rebel war and restore LRA-affected communities in
East and Central Africa to peace and prosperity”
(InvisibleChildren.com).
9. TARGETING YOUTH
“Admittedly, KONY 2012 was geared
towards young, western audiences in
an effort to raise awareness of what
began in Uganda, but is currently
taking place in DR Congo, Central
African Republic, and South Sudan.” -

Young. Fresh. Music. Art. Pop Culture.
“Whatever worries some harbored
over Invisible Children’s methods,
there was no denying its influence.
By 2008, the campaign had made
the LRA and Kony the No. 1 foreign
issue for American students, on a
par with the antiapartheid
campaign for an earlier generation.”

10. Video. Film. Documentaries.
[The film] has an extremely clear theory of change. It lays out the steps needed,
and adds some key power elements like celebrity endorsement through multiple
social media channels. It's also a great study on some powerful storytelling
techniques: it's human-centered, has a clear audience in the role of the hero, offers
a simple take-away and is emotionally driven.” - Free Range
