She bikes to work daily, is vegan and has grown up
between the Galician countryside and international
boarding schools. Valeria, daughter of Adolfo Dominguez,
has transformed the family business from the web.
Lola, her dog, gets put in her bike´s basket every
morning and together they cycle through the park El
Retiro on their way to Atocha.
Under a very sweet appearance and voice is hiding a
ferocious business woman, a real executive. Valeria
Dominguez, the middle child of Adolfo Dominguez, is
vegan and lives off whole grains, fruit she brings back
from Galicia and a bean potion she herself cooks in a
pot for 9 whole hours! “They are delicious!”. She has
traveled the world as a backpacker, is thrifty but a big
consumer of culture.
Optimism with regards to a future that appears very
well positioned thanks to the work of Valeria and
Tiziana, daughters of Adolfo and responsible, for
example, of having the brand become a point of
reference for eCommerce or environmental politics.

“I take my dog in to work many times, to the
offices we just opened in a loft in Atocha two
years ago. We are a dog friendly company
like Google or Amazon. Many colleagues also
bring in their dogs and the environment that is
created is wonderful. Dogs create currents of
sympathy, they relax and de-stress people.”
“I feel incredibly privileged. As I cycle, I listen
to an audiobook, but just in one ear as I would not
want to get into an accident-she laughs-. This way
I arrive in great shape at work.”
At 35 years old, Valeria Dominguez is capable of talking
about wearables as if she had lived with them her
entire life, lead the online business of Spanish fashion
firm Adolfo Dominguez and get an entire audience
of 500 to laugh when she tells anecdotes of her daily
life. Vegan, environmentalist, “book devourer” and
entrepreneur, Dominguez has spent a vast amount of
her life outside of Spain, which has given her a global
vision of the fashion business. When asked to name
one thing she just hates, she says:

“What upsets me the most is
the mistreatment of animals
and lack of respect for the
environment.”
The values the company is based on remain
unbreakable. Having grown up and living amidst
nature has impacted them as a family. They are
convinced vegans and vegetarians inside and outside
the company, they investigate synthetic skins for their
designs, especially shoes, the most difficult product
to veganize.

of serving all vegetarian catering in her new offices.

Since I was a little girl, my father has told me that the
earth does not belong to us, we are only a part of her.
During the year and a half that she´s leading the
online store for Adolfo Dominguez, the sales volume
has increased by 173% and Valeria Dominguez, the
middle child of the designer, walks quietly in her
vegan shoes. Mi father is an avid environmentalist,
he advocates for the austerity of spirit and a simple
life. He has transmitted this to us since a young age.
“We have always lived in the countryside and if you
have always had dogs be your best friends, you
develop a completely different view of the animal
world.” Even though she travels constantly and
works in fashion, she lives an austere life

“My experience in a German boarding school
changed my life and I learned to recycle. I try to
transmit that with my clothing and with our brand.
I believe that luxury is a long-lasting quality,
it responds to a view of fashion that is
timeless and unique.”
“My daily habits include a vegan diet and
our office is dog friendly, something which
energizes and relaxes the environment.“
Galicia, the land of the matriarchy and textile success,
counts Adriana, Valeria and Tiziana within its ranks.
A triumvirate that has committed to continuing the
environmental sustainability path set by their father, the
creator Adolfo Dominguez. We discover the greenest
side to their family business at their hands. What is one
of the main objectives of the three sisters?
“To maintain one of the most essential
elements of their personal and company´s
DNA; the respect for the environment, which
is part of their life and work philosophy,”
My father, like my whole family, has always
been very concerned with the preservation of
the environment and the protection of animals
well before this became a mass concern
internationally. We are all vegetarians. We also
use the least amount of leather possible in our
bag and shoe collection.

Valeria Domínguez, hija mediana de Adolfo Domínguez, nunca se
imaginó que su vida pasaría por trabajar en el negocio familiar que su
abuelo fundó y su padre elevó al lugar que a día de hoy ocupa dentro
del mundo de la moda: “Siempre hubiese jurado que no iba a volver.
Mi padre nos educó para que fuésemos libres. Nos empujó a salir, a
crear nuestra propia identidad. Creo que ni siquiera se planteó que
volveríamos, aunque luego lo haya deseado, y ahora nos tenga a las tres
trabajando a su lado”. Última de las tres hermanas en formar parte de
esta historia, Valeria es, desde marzo de 2011, directora del departa-
mento de eCommerce, donde ha logrado aumentar la facturación en
un 911%, posicionando la tienda online como la número uno entre las

  • 13. SO NATURAL, SO DIGITAL She bikes to work daily, is vegan and has grown up between the Galician countryside and international boarding schools. Valeria, daughter of Adolfo Dominguez, has transformed the family business from the web. Lola, her dog, gets put in her bike´s basket every morning and together they cycle through the park El Retiro on their way to Atocha. Under a very sweet appearance and voice is hiding a ferocious business woman, a real executive. Valeria Dominguez, the middle child of Adolfo Dominguez, is vegan and lives off whole grains, fruit she brings back from Galicia and a bean potion she herself cooks in a pot for 9 whole hours! “They are delicious!”. She has traveled the world as a backpacker, is thrifty but a big consumer of culture. Optimism with regards to a future that appears very well positioned thanks to the work of Valeria and Tiziana, daughters of Adolfo and responsible, for example, of having the brand become a point of reference for eCommerce or environmental politics. Vegan, environmentalist, “book devourer” and entrepreneur, Dominguez has spent a vast amount of her life outside of Spain, which has given her a global vision of the fashion business.
