[in faith and good works]: they who were [always] drawn close
unto Allah! In gardens of bliss [will they dwell] - a good many
of those of olden times, but [only] a few of later times. ”

“AND IF My servants ask thee about Me - behold, I am
near (FA-IN-NEE- QO-REEB); I respond to the call of
him who calls (U-JEE-BU-DA’WA-TAD-DAA-’I),
whenever he calls unto Me (IDZA-DA-’AAN): let them,
then, respond unto Me (FAL-YAS-TA-JEE-BU-LEE), and
believe in Me (WAL-YU’-MI-NUU-BEE), so that they
might follow the right way (LA-’AL-LAHUM-YAR-
SHUDUU-N).”

will surely find themselves in Hell in humiliation!"

”Call upon your Lord in humility (TA-DWAR-RU-’AN) and
privately (KHUF-YATAN); indeed, He does not like
transgressors.
And cause not corruption upon the earth after its
reformation. And invoke Him (WAD-’UU-HUM) in fear
(KHAU-FAN) and aspiration (TWA-MA-’AN). Indeed, the
mercy of Allah is near (QO-REEBUN) to the doers of good
(AL-MUH-SI-NEEN).”
(Qur’an: A’raf: 7: 55-56)

Allah SWT the assures us of His Mercy is near for those who areAllah SWT the assures us of His Mercy is near for those who are
thethe MUMUHH-SINEEN-SINEEN - from the term- from the term IIHHSANSAN
Thus we are to strive for this state of “righteousness” so as to
deserve the nearness of Allah SWT and His Mercy.

“He (ALLAH) is (AL-HAYYU) the living (One): There is no
god but He: Call upon (supplicate to) Him (DU’A) giving
Him sincere (MUKHLISw) devotion (DEEN). Praise be to
Allah (AL-HAMDU-LILLAAHI) Lord (ROBB) of the Worlds!”
(Qur’an: Ghafir: 40: 65)

Yet, we must always remember that Allah readily respond toYet, we must always remember that Allah readily respond to
Muslims making Du’a for other Muslims in their absence; the Du’aMuslims making Du’a for other Muslims in their absence; the Du’a
of parents for their children; the Du’a of those who are oppressedof parents for their children; the Du’a of those who are oppressed
or unjustly treated (whether Muslim or non-Muslim); the Du’a ofor unjustly treated (whether Muslim or non-Muslim); the Du’a of
the broken-hearted and those distressed; the Du’a of everythe broken-hearted and those distressed; the Du’a of every
leader/ruler/imam who are just and uphold justice (leader/ruler/imam who are just and uphold justice (IMAM- ’AA-IMAM- ’AA-
DILDIL); Du’a of a Muslim traveller (); Du’a of a Muslim traveller (MUSAFIRMUSAFIR), etc.), etc.

“The supplication of the servant is granted in case he does
not supplicate for sin or for severing the ties of blood, or
he does not become impatient.”
It was said: O Allah's Messenger, what does:" If he does
not grow impatient" imply?
He said: “That he should say like this: ‘I supplicated and
I supplicated but I did not find it being responded’, and
then he becomes frustrated and abandons supplication.”
(Hadith reported by Muslim)

“Allah the Almighty is Good and accepts only that which is
good. And verily Allah has commanded the believers to do
that which He has commanded the Messengers. So the
Almighty has said: “O (you) Messengers! Eat of the
TOYYIBAT [all kinds of HALAL (lawful) foods], and perform
righteous deeds.” [23:51] and the Almighty has said: “O
you who believe! Eat of the lawful things that We have
provided you.” [2:172] ... ”

… Then he mentioned [the case] of a man who, having journeyed far,
is dishevelled and dusty, and who spreads out his hands to the sky
saying “O Lord! O Lord!,” while his food is HARAM (unlawful), his drink
is HARAM, his clothing is HARAM, and he has been nourished with
HARAM, so how can [his supplication] be answered? .”

“Whomsoever of you the door of supplication is opened for, the
doors of mercy have been opened for him. And Allah is not
asked for anything - meaning - more beloved to Him, than
being asked for Al-`Āfiyah.”

“There is not a Muslim upon the earth who calls upon Allah with any
supplication, except that Allah grants it to him, or avert away from
him the like of it evil; as long as he does not supplicate for something
sinful, or the severing of the ties of kinship.”
