Debra Purcell-Regis is a retired teacher who has remained active in the community so she could still interact with her town’s young people and remain a force for good. Purcell-Regis retired from teaching after twenty-five years in the classroom, teaching mostly History and Literature, two subjects she finds go very well together when learning about other cultures and her own. Debra Purcell-Regis retired in 2014 after spending over twenty-five years teaching English and American literature in high schools in Old Brookville, New York. After retiring from teaching, she started working part-time at one of the local community centers as a volunteer coordinator.
