Dr. Michele Carbone is a board-certified Pathologist. Dr. Carbone's research has focused most often on malignant mesothelioma, a cancer often associated with asbestos exposure. Dr. Carbone and his team investigate the interactions between genetics and environmental factors. Specifically, they have assessed the manner in which certain individuals who has been exposed to asbestos fail to develop mesothelioma.
Dr. Carbone has published over 200 peer-reviewed scientific publications, and has been supported through a variety of NCI and private grants.
