Steve McCarty was born in Boston and became a full Professor in Japan. He currently lectures for Osaka Jogakuin University, and from 2004-2024, the Japanese government foreign aid agency. Since 1998, World Association for Online Education President. He has delivered keynote addresses at 9 international conferences. He has taught classes at three graduate schools. At Kansai University he taught ICT classes from 2015-2020 and held a unique Global Faculty Development position. His CV currently lists 250 publications and 100 unique presentations, with 583 citations recognized by Google Scholar. He publishes on online education, bilingualism, language teaching, Japan, Asia, and the academic life.
